The New Gold Leader
I loved The Bad Batch and especially the epilogue, where a grown up Omega leaves to become a pilot for the Rebel Alliance and fight the Empire. I have seen fanart of the grown up Omega in a flight suit all over the net, so I know there are fans out there thinking the same thing, Omega as an X-Wing pilot. But, I thought what squadron would she be in and she should be a squadron leader. Hera is Phoenix Leader, Luke Skywalker was Rogue (Red) Leader and then later Wedge Antilles became Rogue (Red) Leader. But, who was Gold Leader after the Battle of Yavin? Lando Calrissian became Gold leader at the Battle of Endor, because he was put in overall command of the fighter attack. But who was Gold Leader between Yavin and Endor and then following the Battle of Endor. After watching The Bad Batch epilogue, it hit me immediately, Omega with her gold hair would be an awesome Gold Leader. One of my favorite scenes in The Bad Batch was when Tech was teaching Omega how to fly.
So to me Omega is the Rebel Alliance's Gold Leader.

“HOW MANY MORE?? HOW MANY MORE LIKE ME??!!”
WIP going to hell in a handbasket for this (hey Tumblr how’re we feeling about high tech lobotomy on a child), but on the bright side, Trepan getting fucking ruined by Prowl after Prowl finds out this is “Uncle Gold-Eyes” who experimented with mnemosurgery on young ‘defective’ cadets at his old academy to ‘fix’ them, including on Prowl himself, is a special kind of TTB catharsis.

When you get a chance, could you please explain with a bit more detail about the armor the autobots and decepticons wear? Do they often wear the suits under their clothes?
Aye, I'll do my best! I've given a short explanation here a while back, along with some visual aid. Basically, the way the armor is constructed is inspired off The Centurions, especially Ace McCloud's setup for the flyers. There is a bodysuit underneath the armor which is flexible and offers some protection against blades and small-calibre weaponry. Teleportation is a tech still in development in TTB, where live trials have been unsuccessful, but it has been in used for about a decade or two to transport items (or bodies from offworld colonies back to earth). The larger the item is, the longer it takes to teleport. Also, you need a direct, solid Point A to Point B. That's where the bodysuit comes into play, as it coded to sync with the armor and is the solid Point B for armor teleportation from base, as well as something equivalent to a 'mesh mapping' on a 3D model that makes it easy to the algorithm to identify where the armor phased to the recipient is supposed to go (as opposed to shin armor being phased to the forearm, as an example). The Decepticon/Autobot emblem works as a beacon to direct where geographically the armor should be teleported, and the suit grounds it. The armor is phased/teleported in pieces to the recipient as this takes a shorter time than doing so with a large, fully-attached solid set. Of course, it still takes time for people who wear highly-specialised armor which may have extensive weaponry attached to it--in particular are the flyers who require mini flight engines and/or turbines, as well as those like Preston/Prowl or Suraya/Soundwave who have shoulder-mounted artillery--versus people who only have standard protective armor, like Dai/Drift and Carina/Chromia.
As to how often characters don this bodysuit under their civilian clothing, I'd say given the situation they're in, probably about 60% of the time and depending on whether it's an 'active combat' sort of week. There'll be some weeks where the skirmishes can be daily, and some weeks where there's lulls/uneasy truces in between the fighting. The armor did not start out made for military purposes---it was originally a project of Wheedon/Wheeljack's which Senator Sharifuddin/ Shockwave funded. Wheeljack, as someone born with Tetra-amelia syndrome, was in the business of creating affordable cybernetic prosthetics/mobility aids for large swathes of the public/lower class manuals who could not afford them. When the Clampdown happened and members of Senator Shockwave's rebellion were being targeted, Shockwave asked Wheeljack for help and Wheeljack came up with the idea of protective armor from his project which he and Shockwave jointly worked on. The very first suit of armor created was actually Stefan/Starscream's suit, which he wears until today mostly unchanged from the time of its creation. It was the first because back then, they decided that having eyes in the sky was a priority and once test flights on Starscream's suit proved successful, Megs' and OP's followed. In the current day of the war, the Autobots' armor is crafted by a team comprising HotRod and Swerve who craft the raw material, Bumblebee and Mirage who deal with the colors/designs, Wheeljack who codes it to work as a unit and Nautica who helps out with trial testing. For the high-ranking Decepticons, Megatron crafts most of their armor (he often uses it as a bonding session to get to know the recipient better) and Shockwave codes it while members of the DJD help out with trial testing. Wheeljack has very complicated feelings about the way this tech he pioneered with Shockwave is being used, and he generally cannot be talked into coding Autobot armor with live artillery (he doesn't care if they want to wield weapons, but he won't be making them), unlike the Decepticons who do (he will allow, such as in Prowl's case, non-lethal rounds or elements to stun/incapacitate enemies).
I hope the information proves insightful!

Hi! I love your writing, and your in depth story telling! Idk if you would ever want to, but could do the ttb and the bois reacting to meeting their S/0 parents? No pressure if you don’t want to, totally understand! Have a great day!
These HCs are based on the assumption their S/O has a good or at least okay relationship with their parents. Parental-figures could be substituted in if that helps anyone picture themselves in these scenarios ^.^
Rex, Echo, and Crosshair would be hella nervous. They don't understand parent dynamics, don't know how to act around them. They default to being stiff and formal, like they're addressing a high ranking soldier. Sirs, ma'ams, the whole bit. They sweat a lot, blush a lot... laugh awkwardly at jokes, constantly apologize... unsure where to stand or what to do with their hands.... They'll need their partners to give cues on how to behave, and it'll take several meetings before they grow more comfortable.
Cody, Tup, and Wrecker have been waiting for this moment for ages. They'd heard all about their S/O's parents and what an important part they'd played in their lives, so they can't wait to finally meet them and develop a relationship themselves. They'll be very warm and genuine in their interactions, nothing they say ever feels like it's forced or shallow. They are an instant favorite and by the end of the meeting, it feels like they've always been part of the family.
Dogma, Hardcase, and Tech didn't realize "meeting the parents" was a big milestone in a relationship, seeing as they don't have any parents of their own, so for the first meeting they're calm, cool, and collected. This ends up getting them into the parents' good graces easily. But once the meeting is over, and they see their partner so relieved that it went well, they'll understand the significance and worry will settle in. Subsequent meetings won't be as composed or casual with this newfound knowledge.
Fives, Kix, and Jesse are really hamming it up, big time. They did their research on how to impress the parents, charming things to say, presents to bring, etc. It works a little bit, but at a certain point it becomes just a little too much and a little too fake. Their partner will have to whisper explanations to their parents about what's going on, why they're acting like the hunky neighbor from a soap opera. They just really, really want to be liked. Over time, they'll learn it's best to just be themselves.
Wolffe, Fox, and Hunter are very relaxed, as they're used to being under pressure as soldiers. They know their S/O's parents are important people to meet, and they'll want to reassure they are a good person for their child to be dating. But they also know it won't do to show their nervousness, or to try and overcompensate. Only when the meeting is over and they are alone with their S/O do they express their anxiety, unwarranted due to how much the parents ended up loving them.

Tech turned off Marauder's engines , grabbed his datapad and put on his helmet as he made his way out of the ship listening to Crosshair and Echo.
" Didn't we got through mission briefing like twice? You weren't listening , Crosshair. "
He said as he glanced towards his brother , his eyes glued to datapad as he was checking.
" And anyways we are team , aren't we?
We doing missions together. "

Lilith landed her ship outside of the city. She grabbed her gear and headed for the entrance. A simple elimination. Find him, kill him, and bring in his head. She had done this same mission many times. She felt something was off but she tried not to think about it, and hoped that the captain wasn't watcher her thought feed.
As she walked in she felt there was someone else like her here. Someone with the force as the doctor called it. She wasn't allowed to ask questions unless they were related to her mission. So she didn't know much about these force users.
Stop thinking (the things in italics is instructions she gets)

Time-Travel Fixit
Has spoilers for Bad Batch season 2 finale. Some plot, mostly character stuff.
___
When a group of teenagers assassinated the Chancellor, Obi-Wan had not expected what was to come. The reveal that the Chancellor was a Sith, that the teenagers were all clones of the notorious Jedi Killer, or that all the clones had knowledge of the future so complete that it was almost as if they had already lived it. At least that was what the Council had decided, as the clones’ claims—that they had time traveled after their deaths or roughly two years after the Republic fell and was replaced by a Sith empire— were too unbelievable.
Now, here he stood, watching the clones loading up to be sent wherever they chose to settle. Not surprisingly, none really wished to go with Fett, who had sold them into slavery before they were even born. To Obi-Wan’s surprise a large group had chosen to follow him. They were led by an older teen with a large scar around his left eye. The other clones alternatively called him Cody or Kote, and Obi-Wan was not sure with name the teen preferred. For some reason none of the clones bothered to introduce themselves, leaving Obi-Wan to figure out their preferred form of address on his own.
There was also a much larger clone named Alpha-17 who insisted on going with him, to ‘keep an eye on that idiot, Skywalker’. Anakin had taken offense at that and now seemed to be pressing any buttons that he could find just to annoy the clone.
He was assisted in this endeavor by a small group of clones who had declared they would stay with him until they could find Commander Tano. Anakin had no idea who this Commander Tano was, but Obi-Wan suspected they were referring to a young Togruta initiate that Plo Koon favored.
Cody/Kote had apparently noticed something was missing and ran off several minutes ago. It appeared that what was missing was a group of smaller children, as Obi-Wan could see Cody/Kote returning with them. These children were still clearly clones, though they were not identical like the others. Walking beside Cody/Kote was a boy with long hair held out of his face by a bandana. A boy with silver hair followed immediately after. Behind the silver haired boy was a smaller boy wearing goggles and a strange harness that looked to Obi-Wan like something parents on Coruscant would place on their rowdy toddlers to keep them from wandering off. Actually, Obi-Wan could see there was a leash on the back of the harness that was being held by the smallest of the group, a young blond. Bringing up the rear of the group was a large boy built more like Alpha-17 than the other clones. He towered over the small blond and the boy with the goggles.
“Sorry, General,” Cody/Kote said, “these five got lost in the shuffle.”
“I still say we should be fine on our own,” the silver haired boy grumbled.
Cody/Kote snorted. “We’ll talk about that when you’re not cadet sized.”
Obi-Wan dearly hoped these children hadn’t planned on being released on the galaxy unsupervised. After the assassination of the Chancellor, the Senate was adamant that the clones, who were all highly trained fighters, be monitored at all times. On their own they could be easily scooped up by the Hutts or any other parties that might be interested in acquiring a readymade army.
“Excuse me,” the smallest of the group spoke up. “Tech needs a parachute if he’s going to ride in the transport.”
The boy with the goggles sighed. “We’ve talked about this Omega.”
“No,” Omega stomped his—a nudge from the force, oh, her —foot. “Last time we were up high, you fell. You need a parachute.”
“You know we could just give Tech a jetpack,” Cody/Kote suggested.
“I have not been trained to operate a jetpack properly,” Tech said.
“You mean the one time you tried, you flew into a wall and gave yourself a concussion,” the large boy said.
“And the Kaminoans didn’t want to risk you giving yourself brain damage, so they canceled all your future lessons,” the silver haired boy said.
“I was four,” Tech protested.
“If I may,” Obi-Wan broke in, “what seems to be the issue?”
Omega stared up at him with large brown eyes, glistening with unshed tears. “Tech died.”
Ah, this was the time-travel thing. Many of the clones had vivid memories of their future deaths. And in even more cases, memories of losing their brothers.
“Well, we will all die eventually,” Tech pointed out.
“We could have saved you if you gave us more time!”
“We did not have more time. We all would have fallen, and that was not an acceptable outcome.”
“Your dying was not an acceptable outcome!”
“I am aware that you are not dealing well with my demise, but there are limits to what I can do to allay your concerns. This leash is already pushing those limits,” Tech said, picking at the harness with annoyance.
“Not that the leash would stop him going over the edge. If anything, it would just drag you over too,” the silver haired boy pointed out.
“Crosshair!” the boy with the bandana scolded.
Omega looked horrified at this new information. She looked down at her own small frame, then up at Tech who stood at least six inches taller than her. She turned to the giant clone standing behind her.
“Then Wrecker will hold the leash. He’s strong enough to pull you back if you fall,” Omega declared, handing the leash to Wrecker. Wrecker accepted the leash with a solemn nod. He attached the leash to his belt before pulling Tech to him, wrapping an arm around him to hold him tightly to his side.
“You’re stuck with me, little brother,” Wrecker said gruffly.
Tech sighed but allowed it.
Omega tugged on Wrecker’s free hand until he dipped down to scoop her up and place her on his shoulder.
The boy with the bandana sighed. “Sorry about that. We don’t have as much experience as the others when it comes to losing a brother. To us it was only a few months ago. Since getting him back, we’re a little overprotective.”
“We understand, Hunter.” Cody/Kote patted the boy on the shoulder.
“Oh!” Omega gasped. “I see Echo! Echo, over here!”
A pair of clones approached, one with a fresh tattoo of a five on his forehead, the other with a dark gray handprint on his chest plate. Obi-Wan recognized them both as being part of the strike team that assassinated the Chancellor.
“Hey, kid,” Echo said. Then his eyes slid to Tech who was still held tightly to Wrecker’s side, and his smile widened. “Tech.”
“What? Do the rest of us not warrant a greeting?” Crosshair asked.
“I just saw you a few weeks ago. Haven’t seen Tech in months,” Echo replied.
“We couldn’t find you!” Omega said.
“It’s been longer than a few months since I last saw my old squad. Plus, Fives and I had business on Coruscant,” Echo said with a grin, placing his hand on Fives shoulder.
“Aww, why didn’t you take us with you to kill the emperor?” Wrecker asked.
“Sorry, only clones who have been through their final growth spurt made the cut,” Fives said.
“I’m as tall as you,” Wrecker pointed out.
“Try telling that to someone who doesn’t know how tall you end up getting,” Echo laughed.
“Can I walk without this leash now?” Tech asked.
“When there aren’t any ledges for you to fall off,” Hunter said.

Saving Lives
Bad Batch Fic | Sequel to Come Back
Pairing: Crosshair x reader (hinting)
Words: 2.8k
Warnings: Bodily injuries, blood, story time!
A/N: Hello! I wanted to write something that elaborated on the relationship between the sniper and combat medic. It’s rather rough, proof-read once (thank you Grammarly), and I may not captured Crosshair’s personality perfect. I hope you enjoy, and I will be back with another story!
Roughly two weeks have passed since the last mission, and during those long days, you were recovering from being shot. Being bedridden was not ideal, almost driving you stir crazy. Especially whenever you tried sneaking out of the barracks, there was always one member of the Bad Batch there to stop you.
Wrecker freaked out when he caught you slowly shuffling towards the bathroom, asking why you were out of bed in panic. He only helped you after explaining your destination, waited outside before actually carrying you back to your cot.
Echo spotted you slowly making your way to the kitchen area before redirecting you back to bed like a concerned older brother, staying by your side and offering his arm for support in case you felt weak. Quite the gentleman.. At least he went back to get whatever food you were craving.
Tech found you attempting to do some stretches since you were stuck in bed for Maker knows how long. He lectured you on the facts that your wound may open again if you attempt any movement during a specific time frame. Even when you decided to lay back down he was still lecturing!
As for Hunter, he entered the barracks, catching you standing on your feet. You were in the middle of putting your chest piece armor back on when you winced at the slight sting of your wound. The Sergeant went full dad mode on you, scolding you for moving when you’re still recovering. Now you knew how it felt like to be Omega, which caused you to accidentally say, “Okay, dad.”
You watched Hunter’s back stiffen, an unreadable expression crossing his face before he turned around, leaving you alone in the barracks. What was that? You thought before sighing, slowly removing your chest piece.
Speaking of Omega. Maker, bless that little girl.
When you were initially knocked out after returning to the Havoc Marauder, Omega refused to leave your side. The boys tried to reassure her that you would be alright, but she wouldn’t budge. After a couple of hours, you woke up, disoriented at first, before spotting the little girl fast asleep on a chair at your bedside. Hunter was awake at the time, and he explained everything while you rested. The boys learned that it was indeed a trooper who shot you and not Crosshair because Omega was persistent in backing you up in your story. You watched the Sergeant carefully picking the youngest member up and carrying her to her makeshift bedroom.
You were awake when Omega rushed into the small barracks, eyes wide before spotting you. She first cried tears of joy, happy to you see that you were okay. Hearing her crying caused Hunter and the other boys to rush in, worried that something was wrong before relaxing after you explained why Omega was crying.
Since that moment, Omega stayed and kept you company. Whenever she wasn’t informing you of the group’s next objective, she would ask if you needed anything like food or water. You felt bad having her grab something to eat for you, and you mentioned it to one of the boys whenever they pass the barracks.
“I’ll let her know. She is looking after her teammate though.” Hunter commented before leaving.
One day during the weeks of recovery, Omega came to your bed per usual and sat down. You were reading on your datapad before glancing up. “I’ve been meaning to ask you something,” she first started off, looking a bit nervous.
“Sure, what’s up?” You asked after putting your datapad down.
“I heard stories of the Bad Batch back on Kamino, but I was hoping to hear how you became part of the team. Since you’re not a clone like us. I-if you don’t mind!” The child asked bashfully, causing you to smile.
“Of course! Heh, no need to be shy,” you grinned before relaxing against your pillow. “I was formally part of the 501st under General Skywalker, still as a combat medic. I helped aid their soldiers and taught any clones who wanted to become a medic. But I was taken out of that battalion and introduced to these guys after Wrecker’s accident.” You said, pointing to the left side of your face.
Omega frowned at the mention of the deep scar on the more giant clone’s face.
“Do you...know how he got it?”
“Not the specific details. Just that his fondness for exploding things up got the best of him at that moment,” you answered. “But that is a story for Wrecker to tell you himself. After his incident and intense care, the Kaminoans and High Command thought that it would be best for the Bad Batch to have a medic at all times. And that’s where I came in.”
“What was it like first joining them?” Omega asked, scooting her chair closer, eager to know more.
You laugh nervously before answering awkwardly, “A nat-born joining a bunch of mutated clones who have a distaste for regs? It wasn’t sunshine and rainbows, Omega. At least, for some time.”
“Wait. Hunter and the others were mean to you?” Omega looked shocked, unable to imagine any of her older brothers being cruel. She began to turn towards the door, ready to get up and give the boys an earful.
“Whoa, whoa. Easy there, targon.” You quickly said, grasping her hand to stop her. “They weren’t mean to me. Just...indifferent.” Omega looked confused still, but she was no longer about to charge out of the room. Seeing that the girl was relaxed, you let go of her hand.
“The boys are thick as thieves. Having a complete stranger joining them for Maker knows how long it was off-putting. But, one by one, they slowly welcomed me into their merry band. Well, all except Crosshair.” The mentioning of his name caused you to frown, your hand gripping the sheets.
Omega noticed your shift of emotions, her eyebrows knitting together in worry. “You two were close.”
You couldn’t help but softly laugh a bit. “Not at first. He was the hardest one to be accepted by. It took us potentially dying just to get close.”
At that, Omega’s eyes widened, her jaw-dropping, and you knew that you had to tell her the story now, or she will never leave you alone.
“Keep up, medic. Or I’m going to leave you behind.”
“Where have I heard that before?”
It has been several months since you have joined Clone Force 99. And each mission has been quite eventful. All dangerous, non-stop action and heart-pounding moments. You had seen your share of action before joining this group, especially when you were with General Skywalker and his boys in blue. But the 501st pale compared to the Bad Batch. Then again, the Bad Batch is sent to suicide missions, unlike the 501st, so the comparisons aren’t fair.
Such missions that you were on right now.
Infiltrate a Separatist’s stronghold, eliminate the enemy commander and destroy their entire base. Nothing new but this time, you found yourself on a thick rainforest-like planet. It was the dead of night, using the shadows to your advantage. While the boys handled the assigned target, you and Crosshair were tasked to eliminate any remaining outside forces and retrieve a getaway vehicle.
You have been paired with Crosshair in the past, but they have never been pleasant. The sniper all but ignored you or let out harsh remarks, insulting even, but you did your best not to let it get to you. All attempts to befriend him or have him loosen up a bit around you. It was all in vain, though, and even the rest of the batch members have told you to simply give up.
“It’s not you,” Hunter said one day as they were currently jumping through hyperspace. “He’ll come around. Just you wait.”
But it has been so long now. When will it happen? You were getting tired of the glares and sneers, but you refused to give in.
Focusing back on the mission, the two of you reached the edge of the forest, locating the hanger currently guarded by battle droids.
“Those dwarf spider droids may be a problem,” you stated, spotting the said droid following the standard clankers.
“You should have stayed on the ship if you’re going to get cold feet. You’re useless on the battlefield,” Crosshair sneered under his helmet. You remained quiet, refusing to glance at him. To give him any satisfaction of his words stinging you intensely.
“Just give me some cover fire. And don’t hit me,” you stated before donning your eyeshield then rushing in with your dual pistols.
Having done this countless times, taking down the droids has become second nature to you. So, one by one, the droids fall, caught off guard from a sniper shot from the thick forest. They were also surprised to see a single soldier rushing them with nothing but two pistols.
Once the separate hangar was secured, Crosshair silently joined you, neither one speaking. No “thanks” or “great job.” Then again, the Bad Batch weren’t the ones to compliment each other. Do the job, and get out alive.
“Crosshair, (Y/N). What’s your status?” Hunter’s voice came through the comlink.
“Just cleared out the hangar. We’re getting the getaway vehicle right now,” you responded as Crosshair began to hotwire one of the landspeeders.
The landspeeder came to life, and you quickly hopped on, not wanting to test to see if Crosshair would actually leave you behind. The speeder raced down towards the rest of the crew’s location, staying on time with the plan. As the wind whipped through your light armor clothing, you began to hear a faint beeping sound. Leaning down to the ground, the beeping was getting louder and faster.
“There’s a bomb!” You shouted with realization before rushing towards Crosshair.
The sniper didn’t have enough time to respond because you tackled him off the ledge of the speeder. You had thought that you reacted quick enough, but the planted bomb exploded, launching the two of you further into the air. You felt your hands slip from Crosshair’s armor, separating the two of you.
Then, you landed hard onto the ground, and you felt something snap within you. You couldn’t scream, the air being knocked out of you as your body tumbled and rolled to a stop. Summoning whatever strength you had, you slowly pushed yourself up with your arms before sharply sucking in some air, pain flaring on your right side. Carefully feeling your side, you came to a quick conclusion before gasping.
Crosshair?! Looking around, you spotted the nonmoving clone a few feet away from you, and your stomach dropped at the sight of him. The silver-haired man was lying on his back, his helmet knocked off his head, and you spotted blood oozing from a cut above his eyebrow. Not only that but his right arm and left leg were awkwardly twisted.
Fighting off your own pain, you crawled towards him before pushing yourself on your feet. The world spun, almost causing you to fall backward, but you quickly regained your balance. We can’t stay out in the open. That explosion will attract more droids to our location.
Placing his helmet back on his head, you hook your arms under his shoulders.
Dragging his body deeper into the forest was no easy feat. You were panting and sweating, your head was pulsing, and the pain on your side was overbearing. With every shift, you felt your bones poking at your lungs, causing you to slow down before resuming.
There!
You spotted a large tree, and underneath the roots, the ground sunk and became hollow. It was a perfect hiding spot, and droids are dumb; they never look up or down.
Not wasting any more time, you slid both you and Crosshair into the hole, and once settled, you immediately went to work.
.
.
.
.
Crosshair slowly opened his eyes, blinking several times as his vision cleared. He tried sitting up, but that caused his head to ache more than it already was. Raising a hand, he felt bandages wrapping around most of his head.
“Leave it alone unless you want to bleed again.”
Crosshair looked over, spotting you sitting nearby, weapons at hand. “What happened?” The sniper groaned, lowering his arm down.
“The landspeeder had a bomb planted and exploded. You broke your arm and leg and had a concussion.” You answered, receiving another groan from the clone after he noticed those said injuries wrapped up in wooden splints. “I’m guessing if the vehicle was activated improperly, it would self-destruct. No wonder the GAR had issues with this Separatist; they thought of everything. Hey! What are you doing?”
Crosshair had begun to sit up, using his good arm to push himself from the floor. “What does it look like?”
“You’re not fit to move around, Crosshair! And neither am I.” You shouted, shuffling towards him, putting your hand on his shoulder, forcing him to stop. “I broke 3 ribs, and I can feel them poking my lungs. Hunter knows of our situation, and they’re working right now to find a way to pick us up.”
Crosshair pushed your hand off of him with his good arm, his glare piercing you. “I don’t need you telling me what to do.”
“Apparently, someone does. As your medic, my word is final when it comes to your wellbeing.” You snapped back, putting your hand back on his shoulder and pushing him down. “I’m not letting you toss your life away, all because you want to be stubborn!”
“Don’t act as you care about us clones!” The sniper growled, struggling underneath your hold. “We’re exposable for you perfect nat-borns!”
Your grip on his shoulder loosen, and your glare slowly softened. “Is that why you hate me? Because I’m a perfect nat-born?” You questioned almost a bit too calmly, which startled Crosshair a bit. He wasn’t expecting this reaction from you. No glares or quick remarks. Just silence.
“I am not perfect, Crosshair. No one is perfect. Nat-borns, regs, defects, we’re all the same. Living and breathing, filled with emotions and flaws. What we do with ourselves is what makes us unique.” You said before moving away from him. “I chose to be a medic because I was tired of seeing everyone dying around me.”
Crosshair slowly raised an eyebrow, his face slowly relaxing. “What...do you mean by that?”
You spare him a brief glance before leaning against a stomp, steadying your breathing. And so, you began your tale.
You were born into slavery and having no memories of your parents, too young to really. Among the slaves were children such as yourself, and you called them brothers and sisters. However, one by one, they either died in accidents, killed by their masters, or sold off to buyers. Finally, after years of servitude, you managed to escape, sneaking onto a shuttle and never looking back.
“The moment I left the shuttle, I was given another chance. A chance my brothers and sisters would never have. That’s when I decided to become a medic. Then I volunteered to be a combat medic because I wanted to save lives.” You finished your story, your breathing steady.
“Even if you were created to fight for someone else’s war, that doesn’t mean your life is meaningless. Believe it or not, but I do care about your life. And that of your brothers’. Losing a loved one is never easy, and I don’t want to see any of you go through that.” You fell silent before taking a small breath. “I didn’t tell you my life story so that you can pity me or for me to win you over. Just to tell you my reasoning in life. What you do with my story is up to you.”
Silence fell between the two of you. Neither one dared a glance at the other. You didn’t like opening up old wounds, telling others your story. The only one who knows is Anakin because the two of you share a kinship of being former slaves.
An hour has passed, and your comlink came to life. Hunter and the rest of the Bad Batch contacted you, informing you that they have returned to the ship and are en route to pick both of you up. Their arrival was quick, and so was being carried into the Havoc Marauder.
They had succeeded in their part of the mission, even if they were now chased by any remaining droids. It wasn’t an issue, though, once they left the planet and jumped into hyperspace.
“After that, we were flown to the closest medical station, and we were both healed up.”
Omega was speechless. She had heard stories of the Bad Batch’s missions back on Kamino through word of mouth from the troops, but nothing detailed. This was quite the tale, and she felt a lot of emotions. The first thing that the girl managed to say was, “I’m so sorry.”
“It’s okay. The important part is that we both survived, and after that, Crosshair wasn’t so harsh on me. In fact, he always had my back. It was his idea to outfit my old armor to that of Clone Force 99, officially making me one of them.” You replied with a soft smile.
“Thank you for telling me your story. I hope we get Crosshair back soon because I would like to know what he was thinking throughout that moment.” Omega said, causing you to smile sadly.
“Yeah, me too...”
Omega noticed your sadden expression at the thought of the sniper, awkwardly shifting in her chair. Hoping to lighten up the mode a bit, Omega asked you, “So, why is your nickname “Freckles”?”
Your cheeks warmed up and you softly laughed, looking embarrassed. “When the rest of the boys checked up on us, I was being removed from a bacta tank. All I had on was my top and tight shorts. They saw that my mostly covered areas like my thighs were littered with freckles, and that’s where I got my nickname. It was embarrassing.”
“Yeah! But Crosshair was the one who pointed it out!” The booming voice of Wrecker came as the boys now stood at the doorway.
“From what I remembered, you were the one who whistled at her in the first place.” Tech pointed out. “Quite improper if you ask me, since she is part of our team.”
“Need I remind you that you were the one who recorded the whole thing,” Hunter added in. “Don’t you think that’s improper?”
The boys began to bicker among each other, except for Echo who simply listened to the retelling of that moment with intrigue. All of this just made you blush harder, covering your face with the sheets. Because you also remember Crosshair looking you up and down, before smirking and saying “Nice freckles.”

Favourite Fictional Character: I could write i book on how many favorite fictional characters I have. But the current one would have to be Tech from tbb, which tbb also happens to be my current hyper fixation :)

So, I’m a big sucker for in-detail worldbuilding, and I have some questions regarding your Transformer-humans AU. Since the Quintesson invasion occurred in the 20’s-40’s(?) what’s some cultural “fun-facts” that results from that? Like how does car racing come about, since the Prohibition mafias/gangs that originated NASCAR probably didn’t exist or were wildly altered? Does chocolate chip cookies still exist? What about other popular medias from that time? Do spaghetti westerns still exist? Etc.
Ooooh this is one of the questions I want to turn around in my head like a rotisserie chicken while I think about 5++ paragraphs of bouncing off the walls BS but I'll try to throw in what I know as of currently! One also has to note that it's going to be hard to condense 'cultural facts' since TTB doesn't take place in the Americas nor is it even constrained by one specific landmass.
There's going to be some rambling, so everything under the cut!
There is a 20-year gap in human culture/subculture circa the 1920s where time effectively 'stopped' for a lot of people due to the invasion, so a lot of the 1920s aesthetic is preserved and celebrated as the 'golden age' before everything change, even more so than it is now. A lot of the (western) characters dress in what you'd probably consider Modern Gangs Of New York (waistcoat, flatcaps, suspenders, etc) sensibilities, despite tech advancements.
Going off the above, a lot of the architecture you'd see is neo-Art Deco in nature.
Cars are an interesting questionmark here, mainly because I've established earlier on that they are nowhere near as commonplace as they are in our actual, current world, and not even in the Global Car Central of the USA. This is mainly due to prioritisation of resources for rebuilding (Quintessons did not care for oil given their advanced tech, but they very much coveted minerals/rare earth elements/metals during their invasion so distinctively, the rich in TTB are steel barons, not oil barons), so even middle-range cars tend to be a bit of a luxury item and will turn heads. Most governments aren't going to allocate those resources for mass production of personal vehicles (excluding utility vehicles like jeeps and trucks). Your average Joe relies mostly on public transport, like trains, trams, LRTs and Workers' Buses established by companies for their employees in less developed areas.
Per the above, NASCAR in its original iteration doesn't exist. There IS car racing, but it's consider 'upper class', rather like horse racing, and is the hobby of those who can afford it. Think the 24 Hours of Le Mans. It's not really 'accessible' to the common folk and it's mainly focused on reviving the personal automotive industry as a recreational/luxury sector.
That said, two-wheeled vehicles are a different story. These are smaller, take up less resources, are easier to maintain, modify and more importantly, hide. By 2050, they're the most popular form of personal transport, and Gojek-like delivery services are common in cities (Groove is a Gojek-type rider).
As such, motorcycle races are much more popular than car races in TTB due to the accessibility factor and how often they were used during the Quintesson Wars, being easier to move around, maneuver and harder to target. Quintesson War rebels on the ground took to motorcycles like the Bedouins/Mongolian soldiers to horses, and would decorate them the same way pilots would decorate their warplanes.
Therefore, the common layfolk go fucking bonkers for MotoGP, and biker gangs are very common.
There is the Olympics which focuses on the countries coming together, but also something like a massive global 'War Games' that occurs once every decade from 1950 to 2050 on the anniversary of earth's victory in the Quintesson Wars which focuses on each country's readiness and collaboration with others to face future invasions. It's a pretty huge affair.
Going off the veneration of the Roaring 20s, Speakeasies are still a thing here, but to the layfolk, they aren't as associated with crime as they are with rebellion. They're still known for serving alcohol but due to their hidden nature, they were also where fragmented communities would seek shelter/gather to relay plans. Within the USA, against govt regulation, some still operate in the dark smuggling contraband to underserved communities and providing an underground network for Cold Constructs to flee to borders, for a price of course.
Company Towns are common, due to logistics during rebuilding efforts---it made sense to have workers all in one area, and also made it easier to segregate the different classes from one another.
Spaghetti Westerns PROBABLY still exist to some extent, but nowhere near the level of Space Westerns. Because aliens cropped up in the timeline way, WAY earlier and left behind tech in the wake of their invasion that sped up mankind's space programmes, daytime TV would be proliferated with shows like Firefly and Battlestar Galactica.
Television itself skipped several stages---there was no setup for mechanical televisions. What TTB knows as 'TVs' were reversed engineered from stolen Quintesson tech (screens, similar to LCDs today), and the first 'TV's were basically used to break into Quintesson comms and spy on them/broadcast plans from one rebel cell to another.
The discourse between 'alien-friendly' media like Star Trek and propaganda-style 'alien negative' ones like Starship Troopers is intense.
Godzilla is. Very popular here. With a divergent background that he was was one of many animals mutated by Quintesson experiments to create biomes that better suited them. Against the alien threat of Ghidorah, he represents earth's ability to persevere, evolve and become a terrifying entity against alien forces seeking to subjugate it.
Science-adjacent, but Penicillin was discovered on the advent of rebels figuring out that aliens aren't well-quipped to handle diseases and infections caused by bacteria native to earth, and started employing biological warfare against them in the early stages of the counterattack period, before they had mastered the use of tech warfare/mobilized enough resources to take on the Quintessons head-on.
Chocolate chip cookies wouldn't be a thing for a while due to the lack of chocolate specifically, which is an industry only redeveloped back to commercial levels years after the invasion ended (it wasn't a priority). Its creation was likely attributed to a lower middle class woman attempting to spread out what little chocolate she managed to get her hands on to feed several people in a way that didn't necessarily feel like it was being 'rationed', and it became a popular, economical way to enjoy this little luxury.
