@hinnymicrofic May Day 18: Retirement
“Jamie, shhhh.” Teddy hissed.
“Al’s sitting on my hand! Don’t tell me to shush!” Jamie complained.
“Sorry!” Al got up hurriedly.
“Al! Get down! They’ll see us!” Teddy reprimanded. “Merlin, why can’t you two be like Lily? She isn’t murdering any chance of finding out what your parents are keeping secret.”
The scowling three boys and very smug little girl turned to the scene they were trying – very badly – to spy on.
Harry and Ginny Potter were talking to each other very intently, heads bent together. All four children burned to know what the conversation was about.
“I think Mummy’s saying something about flying carpets,” Al said, eyebrows scrunched together.
“Pooh!” James scorned. “Why would they talk about flying carpets just because you like them silly-billy-Ally?”
Al went red. Teddy said something sharply to James, who grudgingly muttered an apology. The next moment, groans and exclamations of disgust erupted.
“They’re kissing!” Teddy sighed.
“Do we have to watch this?” Jamie whined.
“I think it’s sweet,” Lily said serenely. At further expressions of incredulity and displeasure, she gave them such a withering look that all three of her brothers shut up. “One day, I want a love like that.”
“We’ve been here ages and we still haven’t heard anything,” James began to complain after only a few seconds, because he was the very antithesis of silence.
“Well, we’re not wasting all the effort we put into making this—” Teddy waved a hand at the candle-lit table, “Date thing happen. We need to know what they’re hiding from us.”
“Just because they’re always whispering doesn’t mean it’s a secret,” Al said logically, in an effort to get back in the house where it was much more comfortable. “They’ll tell us soon. Probably.”
“I’m not taking ‘probably’,” James said, apparently on the other side now. “We have to know. We have a right to know!”
“Seems like your right to know has to be unavoidably delayed,” Lily’s high voice came, stumbling over a few words. “Cause mum and dad are going inside now.”
“WHAT?” Came the shriek of the distracted boys and they looked to see that, indeed, their parents were heading back to the house, hand-in-hand and laughing.
“Noooooo!” James collapsed to the ground in a very dramatic display.
Al howled. “Jamie! You’re on my legs! Get OFF!”
“I give up,” Teddy said, mournfully looking to the heavens. “I give up on everything.”
Inside the house, Harry commented “I think they’ve given up,” to his wife.
Ginny laughed. “About time. I thought the boys at least would riot and leave when we started kissing.”
“As much as their attempts at espionage are entertaining,” Harry said, turning away from the window to smile softly at the sight of Ginny fidgeting with the flower crown he’d just made her. “We should tell them soon. Too much fuss for a little retirement, don’t you think?”
“A little retirement,” Ginny raised an eyebrow. “You’re not the one leaving your career of thirteen years, Potter.”
“Point taken,” Harry laughed.
“Besides, didn’t you enjoy their efforts at setting up a date for us so they could try to eavesdrop? And fail miserably, may I add.”
“Yeah, I feel sorry for them. Hermione said they came to her and Ron begging for all those candles and the dinner and the flowers. So much effort just to fail.” He shook his head, though he couldn’t stop smiling.
“They are getting more desperate,” Ginny conceded. “I’m surprised Lily and Al haven’t been able to convince their brothers to be more reasonable.”
“Getting overruled, I think,” Harry replied. “The other two are a lot older.”
“Fine, we should tell them. I just don’t know how they’re going to take that I’m no longer going to be the star chaser for the Harpies. They love following the team and getting seats to matches.” She sighed worriedly. “Hopefully they’ll buy the ‘reached peak athlete age’ excuse.”
“Hopefully. We don’t want to explain quidditch politics and what it did to you to them,” he agreed.
Ginny sighed again, looking out the window to their children who seemed to be still throwing their little tantrum. “Is it wrong that I’m a little relieved? I love quidditch, but I hated the League politics and the need to win.”
Harry pressed a kiss to her head. “Of course it isn’t wrong. You can find a more peaceful career, relax a bit before that. Especially after how you left.”
“Says the auror,” she teased. “So. Tell the kids tomorrow? They don’t seem to be coming inside any time soon.”
Harry kissed her, and found a matching grin to his. “Tomorrow. Till then. . .” He scooped her up in his arms and she laughed. “I have a few ideas of what we can do. Use this little date they so nicely set up for us, maybe.”

Fred Weasley spending the night at Lupin-Black cottage would include:
Sirius being adamant that if he sleeps in Y/n's room, Fred must either sleep on the floor or the couch
Ofc when Sirius leaves, Fred would eventually go on to Y/n's bed and stay there the rest of the night
Fred would ask Y/n to put on a tv show and the two would watch it until one of them would get hungry
So both Fred and Y/n would head down to the kitchen at some ungodly time and snag a tub of ice cream and a pack of cookies and head back to Y/n's room
The ice cream tub would be empty and only a few cookies would be left at the end of the night
By then, the two would have fallen asleep, cuddled up on the bed while the film continued to play in the background.
The next morning when Sirius comes to wake up the two and mostly to check if Fred had listened to his requirements
But when he sees that the two were blissfully snuggled up together in their sleep, he held back on the thought of waking them up, afraid it would ruin the adorable moment even if he still wasn't completely okay with the idea that his daughter was dating Fred Weasley
Sirius would simply go back down to the kitchen to inform Remus and Teddy that the two weren't going to be joining them that morning and that they might be sleeping in.

Headcanons I have about Teddy Lupin <3
I don't picture father Harry much but i def picture godfather Harry like my life depends on it. Like, Teddy calling Harry "old man" and Harry finding it hilarious. Harry calling him Ted, or Ed, instead of Teddy, makes him feel important and validated.
And he calls them Mom and Dad, or Harry and Ginny, depending on the day. And he would occasionally talk about Remus or Dora and he'd say "My father" or "My mother" and people would ask him like, which one? And I think growing up he wanted to be an auror like his father (Harry) or his mother (Dora), but also growing up he came to realize that it wasn't that great of a job, and he decided for something else, maybe teaching.
He's really good at charms, and bad at transformations, he doesn't do bad at potions but he would never pick it. And for merlin's sake do not ask him to play quidditch because he will die and kill someone in the process. He's a big fan though.
I think he was the most gentle parented kid ever, along with the other Potter kids, and I think he has both surnames cause Harry didn't want him to feel left out of the family, but didn't want to take Lupin's name out. He hopes in the future Teddy will choose for himself which one to use more.
And I think that he wasn't traumatized by his parents deaths, he was able to process them and mourn them and finally listen happily to all the others had to tell him about them.
And I think Andromeda and Molly were the best grandmothers someone could ever ask for. And I think Draco was the cool uncle that offered him a smoke for the first time and was the one Teddy asked for advice with Victorie. And Ron and Hermione were the house he ran to to avoid all the rules Harry's strict ass had.
And he was a happy kid, who grew into a happy adult.
Anyways if you didn't notice, I love Teddy Lupin.

Day 07 of @remadoramicrofics - 100 Words
Edward “Teddy” Remus Lupin was born at 10:07pm and Remus had spent every second since staring at him. Currently, he was asleep on his mother’s chest. The nurse had said something about skin-to-skin contact and bonding, but Remus had been so preoccupied by the wailing boy, he had forgotten to pay attention.
Dora slid over, beckoning him onto the bed. “Your turn,” she said as she lifted little Teddy and handed him to Remus. He was surprised at how warm he was as he held him. “He’s perfect,” she whispered as she leaned on his shoulder. And he was.

Chocolate
Written for @remadoramicrofics day 6: sticky. G, 450 words. Read below or on Ao3.
Tonks sat on the back of her heels, wiping her son’s small hands with a wet cloth. Unbeknownst to Teddy, Remus had come home early and was planning on surprising the boy when Tonks finished cleaning him.
“Teddy,” she asked, “why are you always so sticky?”
“Chocolate!”
Tonks raised a brow. “Did you eat your dad’s chocolate?”
“No.”
A quick glance at Remus, who stood in the background, showed him rolling his eyes and shaking his head.
“Then where did you get it, sweetheart?”
Teddy’s turquoise hair turned bright pink. “Gran.”
“Your gran gave you chocolate?”
“Uh huh.”
“When?”
“ . . . yesterday.”
“And you waited until today to eat it?”
“Yeah.” Teddy’s reddening hair and cheeks gave him away. Tonks saw Remus doubled over with silent laughter.
“You know,” Tonks said slowly. “Your dad had chocolate for me. It would make him sad if it was all gone.”
Teddy’s eyes went wide as saucers. “Daddy will be sad?”
“So sad, baby.”
“Mummy,” Teddy whispered, looking cautiously from side to side, “Gran took daddy’s chocolate and gave it to me.”
“Really?” Tonks feigned surprise and clutched her chest. “Gran needs a time out! Should I owl her to let her know?”
Teddy shook his head violently.
“No? Then what should we do with a naughty gran?”
The four year old wrung his little hands, looking just like his father when he was guilty.
“Teddy, is there something you want to share?” Tonks pressed gently. “Are you sure it was Gran who took Daddy’s chocolate?”
“No,” he replied, in a low voice. “I did.”
“Ahh . . . so. What should we do? Maybe apologize?”
“Okay.” Teddy’s voice had gone to a barely-there whisper.
“You’ll have to apologize to your dad first for stealing, and what else do we say sorry for?”
Teddy’s hair was white as snow. “I don’t know.”
“How about for lying to mummy?”
“Sorry, mummy.” Teddy hung his head sadly. Remus, his face looking like it would burst with joy, gesticulated wildly at Tonks.
“Oh look! Daddy’s here! He’s home early!” Tonks announced.
Teddy spun around, and when his eyes landed on his father, he burst into tears.
“S-s-sorry d-d-d-daddy!” he blubbered. “D-d-don’t b-be s-s-sad! I ate y-y-your ch-ch-chocolate!”
Remus scooped Teddy up and kissed the top of his head, shushing him reassuringly.
“It’s okay, it’s okay,” Remus hushed. “It's just chocolate.”
Tonks stood and joined them, running her fingers through her son’s natural, sandy brown hair. It took a few sniffle-filled minutes, but Teddy’s crying subsided.
“How about we go to the park, Teddy? I think mummy’s questioning was punishment enough, no?”
Tonks groaned inwardly. Remus was no disciplinarian, but Teddy’s shy, eager smile softened her.
They could always get more chocolate.

“bye, bus!”
Okay, so this post keeps crossing my dash, and I tried to bully the Discord into writing a Wolfstar fic for it, only to accidentally end up writing Prongsfoot for it myself instead 🤦‍♂️ I blame @theresthesnitch.
Tumblr media
----
“You’re sure you have everything?”
Teddy rolled his eyes. “Yeah, Padfoot, I’ve got everything.”
Sirius crossed his arms, aiming a stern look at his godson. “You left your packing until an hour ago, so forgive me if I’m a bit skeptical.”
“If I left anything, you can just send it through the Floo, it’s not a big deal.”
“Maybe I’ll just keep it for myself.”
Teddy shrugged. “That’s fine, Papa will just buy it for me again. He’s rich, you know.”
“Oi!” Sirius reached up to ruffle Teddy’s blue curls, and the boy ducked away from him. “Don’t let Da hear you say that, brat. When did you turn into a teenager?”
“Three years ago, when I turned thirteen.”
“Two minutes!” Stan called from the door of the Knight Bus. Teddy’s luggage was already on board, so he picked up his smaller bag and slung it over his shoulder. Sirius felt a familiar pang behind his sternum. Teddy had spent one month with him every summer since he turned six, giving Remus and Kingsley a break while Sirius got to relentlessly spoil his godson. Teddy would be an adult by this time next year, graduated from Hogwarts and off on his next adventure. Who knew if he even wanted to spend time with Uncle Sirius after that?
“Stop that,” Teddy said, poking him in the side. Other passengers were saying their goodbyes and boarding the Knight Bus. “I’ll see you at the station on September first, yeah? And I’ll be home for Christmas. Besides, you’ll be so busy with your little rascals once school starts again that you won’t even miss me.”
“You were one of those little rascals once, you know.” Sirius had been teaching at a magical nursery school for--Merlin, for almost twenty years now. He loved his babies to pieces, though now he felt painfully old. Where had the time gone?
“Yeah, and I was a menace.”
“A very cute menace, though.” Sirius hugged Teddy one last time. “Travel safe, and call me through the mirror as soon as you’re home. Oh, and give your da a kiss from me.”
Teddy pulled back, a mischievous glint in his eye. “But not Papa?”
“Your papa can have a kiss from me when he sends me the Galleons he owes me from last week’s match.”
Teddy was the last passenger on the bus. The doors closed, and Sirius raised his hand to wave as the engine roared to life. A few other wixen who had come to see loved ones off were also waving.
“Say bye, bus!” Sirius said cheerfully, as the Knight Bus disappeared with a loud pop.
“Bye, bus!” someone next to him said.
Sirius froze. Oh, no. Two decades spent teaching little ones had instilled some ridiculous habits in him, like speaking cheerfully to inanimate objects and encouraging others to do the same.
Slowly, he turned to face the person who had unwittingly bade the bus goodbye, and found himself face-to-face with a man whose expression looked as mortified as he imagined his own did.
“Er,” Sirius said lamely. “I teach toddlers.”
“I have a six-year-old,” the man said.
And then, they both burst out laughing.
“I can’t believe I said that,” Sirius wheezed. “Oh, Merlin.”
“Do you--do you do that with everything?” the man cackled. “Do you say goodbye to cars too? What about broomsticks?”
“Stop it.” Sirius covered his burning face with his hands.
“Do you talk to food while you’re cooking? ‘Hello, Mr. Tomato, are you ready to be chopped into tiny pieces today?’”
“You cannot tell anyone this happened,” Sirius said, lifting his head. “I’m going to make you swear an Unbreakable Vow.”
The man’s laughter tapered off, though he kept chuckling, and he lifted his glasses to wipe his eyes. He had a mop of dark, messy hair on his head, brown skin, and a build like a professional Quidditch player. In short, he was fit, and Sirius’s heart tripped in his chest.
The man put his glasses back on and considered Sirius, his eyes flicking from Sirius’s feet all the way up to his hair.
“I might be persuaded to keep your secret,” the man said, “if you buy me a cup of coffee.”
Sirius’s heart beat faster. Was he really--?
“Thought you said you’ve got a kid,” he said cautiously.
“Divorced,” the man said. “You?”
“Single.”
“Great!” The man stuck out his hand. “I’m James.”
“Sirius, like the star.”
James’s hand was warm, his grip firm. A shiver went down Sirius’s spine. What was wrong with him? Getting all flustered over a handshake. He wasn’t fourteen anymore!
“Coffee, then?”
Sirius grinned. “Coffee it is.”

Twins and Trampoline Parks Written for the Ginnyversary Challenge with the prompt: #I16 — "Why had no-one ever mentioned Mum's twin?" Read on: AO3 Ginny felt like she had been trampled by a horde of wild elephants.
It was Albus’ 14th birthday and they had invited the entire next generation of the Weasley-Potter Clan. Albus had wished to go to a trampoline park for his birthday party, and so Ginny and Harry had organized a trip to London, which with twelve kids in tow, reminded Ginny of the time when Hagrid had them trying to herd Mooncalves back in Care of Magical Creatures. Especially cause Albus had brought three extra boys from his year, including Scorpius. But today she luckily had the help of her husband, who was currently consoling a crying Lily, as well as Teddy and Victoire. Molly and Roxanne had opted out of coming since they were simply too old to attend a children’s birthday party, and unlike Teddy and his girlfriend, didn’t have the same close ties to Albus. “Stay together” Ginny called out, as she watched James and Fred sprinting down the street Albus, Rose, and Hugo in close ties behind them, she only rolled her eyes and shot Teddy a grateful look as he paced after the Kids.
After what had felt like the most stressful journey of her life, the group finally arrived at the trampoline park, and Ginny felt positively ready for a nice nap.
The kids were sorted into little groups as they changed their socks into jumping ones, and Ginny felt relief, the trampoline park guides would take it from there. She plopped herself down onto a cushioned bench that let her oversee the entire indoor park, and since it was a Saturday it was pretty full. As the howling horde of children threw themselves onto the trampolines she sighed in relief, closing her eyes for a second, just as she felt a strong hand coming around her waist, the familiar scent of her husband’s cologne filling her nostrils. And it calmed her instantly, she still had her eyes closed as she simply laid her head onto his shoulder, and he pulled her towards him, as they melted into each other.
“Those lot really can be a handful.” He started, his voice soft.
“Not quite the innocent little angels we all were.” Harry teased, and Ginny only snorted in response, now opening her eyes to observe the screeching and laughing group that was wildly playing in front of them.
“I can't decide if we were worse or better.” She asked, watching as James and Fred tossed a laughing Hugo into the ball pit, sending up a shower of rainbow balls in response.
Harry giggled. “Maybe it’s better to leave that question unanswered.”
His left hand came up cupping Ginny’s cheek as he leaned in and they chastely kissed each other on the lips. But their little moment was short-lived as Ginny heard an all too familiar groan from their right.
“Mum! Dad! Can't you two stop for five minutes.” Albus' shrill voice rang out.
Ginny giggled as she and Harry disconnected, now turning towards their second-oldest son, he had Rose and Scorpius in tow, who both shot each other a grin.
“What is it Al, do you need anything,” Ginny asked, taking in the sweat-covered boy, his hair and eyes just like his father's.
Albus shook his head. “No, but you got to see this Mum. Why did no one mention you had a twin.” Ginny was confused for a second, but Albus pointed to their right where a red-haired woman was talking with a man, her hair almost the exact tone and length as Ginny’s.
Ginny couldn’t believe her eyes, the woman even seemed to be around the same height as her, similar body shape and all.
From the corner of her eye, she spotted a smirking Scorpius whisper something into Albus' ear, as he nodded towards Ginny’s clone, earning him an elbow to the stomach from Albus. But Ginny was too distracted by the woman to really notice, something about seeing someone looking so much like yourself was strangely eerie. But when she felt Harry’s lips on her neck she relaxed again. “Babe she doesn’t look like one bit, you’re so much prettier, more vibrant, and her hair doesn’t have that flaming look that yours has.” He whispered
“And your butt looks miles better from that angle!” Ginny chuckled as she turned towards her husband again. “Oh, you’d know that.” She cupped his face and they came together for another kiss, this time deep and desperately, and she quickly lost herself in him. Not even noticing the familiar call out behind them. “Mum! Dad!”

@fluffbruary Day 9
Harry was home.
Lightheaded relief filled her entirely, and even her son seemed to settle against her stomach. She laid a hand on it, trying to breathe through the sheer joy of having her husband back home safe. She knew he had to do it, she loved him for it, and she supported him through it, but it was still a nightmare every time he left for more than three days, especially when he couldn’t communicate.
Harry came to the couch, pale as a ghost, the lost expression he always had after a particularly bad mission fading away as he caught sight of her. Ginny beckoned him over imperiously.
“Dada!” Jamie cried, waving his fat little fists around. Harry picked him up and spun him around, his entire face softening.
“Hey, my baby,” Harry said, pressing a kiss to his hair. “Were you good for Mummy and Aunt Luna?”
“No, he wasn’t,” Teddy called from beside the fireplace, not taking his eyes off his book. The eight-year-old grinned anyway. “He screamed the roof off at bath time.”
“And I suppose you were a lot better?” Harry asked, sounding amused, an eyebrow raised skeptically.
“I was!” Teddy nodded enthusiastically.
“Uh huh. How about you tell me what you did?”
Jamie and Teddy gabbled on cheerfully, Harry nodding solemnly as though he could understand every single word. Ginny smiled at the sight, feeling tears sting at her eyes.
Oh no. She hated pregnancy hormones.
Harry set Jamie next to Teddy, who instantly abandoned his book in favour of entertaining his little brother. Jamie laughed gleefully when Ted tickled him.
Ginny raised her arms tiredly when Harry came over to her, and they kissed languidly, for once not being interrupted by children or her annoying brothers (though she often thought and said those were one and the same).
“And how is my amazing daughter?” Harry asked, hand coming up to caress her belly.
Ginny rolled her eyes. “I’ve told you, Potter, he’s a boy.”
“Yes!” Teddy called. “I want another godbrother!”
Harry had that exasperated, withering look which struck fear in the hearts of criminals and made his family laugh at the snark to follow. “What, so you have someone else to blame for stealing cookies from the jar when you do it?”
“He could just as easily blame Surtiyem for it even if they were a girl,” Ginny said amusedly as Teddy’s hair turned pink in confession.
Harry rolled his eyes. “Okay, whichever gender the baby is, we’re not going to name them Surtiyem.”
Ginny smirked. They both knew she had no intention of actually using that name. “And how are you going to stop me? I’ll have the name on the birth certificate before you know it.”
“As I recall, you were high on pain potions when Jamie was born.” He grinned. “No way you’d be able to write something legible.”
She huffed. “It’d be more legible than your chicken scratch—”
“Mama!” Jamie called, and both adults’ attention immediately went to the children. “Eddy!”
“He wants my book,” Teddy grumbled. “But what if he tears it? What if he—” He caught himself. “It’s mine.” He insisted fiercely.
Ginny caught Harry’s eye. The book had been found by Harry in Remus’ cottage, which had been left to him in the will. It was a children’s story book, and Teddy had been fascinated with it ever since learning whom it had belonged to. She certainly couldn’t fault him for it. But how was she to explain that to a barely three-year-old?
Harry went over and crouched in front of the boys. “Jamie, would you like it if Teddy suddenly just wanted one of your toys?”
Jamie shook his head stubbornly.
“Then can you understand why Ted doesn’t want you to touch his book?”
There was a pause, and the infant reluctantly nodded.
“Good boy.” Harry ruffled his hair. “But Teddy, you can hold it and still let Jamie see, yes? It’s yours, and so you don’t have to agree, but sharing things with your brother—”
“Is necessary,” Teddy completed resignedly. “’Kay, Harry.”
He reluctantly showed Jamie the pictures, and when he cooed over them excitedly, Teddy began to warm up to the idea of showing James the book. Harry stayed for a couple of minutes, watching carefully for any trouble, eyes full of affection, before pressing kisses to both of their heads and coming back to Ginny.
“Well well, Mr Potter,” She murmured. “You as a dad is hot.”
Harry grinned. “Thanks, Mrs Potter.” He frowned suddenly. “I heard something like that in the office. DIFF, or something?”
Ginny pressed her lips together in an attempt to stifle her laughter. “DILF, you mean?”
“Yeah!” He said proudly. “What does that mean?”
Leaning over, she whispered the full-form in his ear, careful to make sure the kids weren’t eavesdropping. Teddy had developed quite the vocabulary of swear words from the lot of them, and Jamie worshipped the ground he walked on and would definitely copy.
“What?!” He exclaimed. Ginny completely lost control, subsiding into giggles. “Who – I – in the office—” He looked flustered.
“You know, it’s sad that you still think you’re not the most desirable person alive—” she said conversationally. “You’d think after winning Witch Weekly’s Sexiest Wizard and Winner of ‘Wish He Wasn’t Married’ twice in a row you’d know that—”
“Hey, I had Undesirable Number One plastered across my face everywhere for a year, that takes its toll,” Harry said indignantly. “I found one of those old posters in Gawain’s office recently, hilariously enough. It brings up memories!”
She clicked her tongue. “Stop making excuses, Potter. You just keep making them one after the other—”
He laughed throatily, pressing his forehead to hers. “Well, I’ve always been a one-woman man, Weasley. Reason enough?”
“Just another excuse.” But she couldn’t help smiling, and she leaned up with difficulty to kiss him.
“Is this one of the things where Uncle Ron pretends to gag and vomit when he sees you?” Teddy asked interestedly.
They broke apart, smiling wryly. It was very hard to get a good romantic moment with kids needing attention every other minute.
“Something like that, Ted,” he said.
“Unca Ron?” Jamie asked, looking excitedly around for his godfather.
“Jamie,” Ginny said solemnly. “Promise me you’ll never listen to stuff Uncle Ron says and betray me like Teddy did.”
Jamie looked confused. Teddy crossed his arms and pouted. “Not a ‘trayal!” He insisted. “Harry said it was sorta right! The real betrayal would’ve been wearing Cannon orange instead of Holly green,” he said, pointing at his dark green hair, pleased.
“Oh yeah. You ever do that, you’re disowned, Teddy Bear.” Ginny said gravely.
Teddy looked supremely unconcerned. “You might, but Granma won’t.”
“Besides, that’s your hair colour, Gin,” Harry pointed out idly, his arm around her waist. “Would you say having ginger hair is a betrayal? Now,” his voice dropped very low. “What we did in your locker room last year on the other hand. . .”
“Harry James Potter!” Ginny shrieked, trying to hide her laughter. She remembered the locker room fiasco. Her teammates were a bunch of voyeurs.
James looked up inquiringly. “Not you, Jamie. Your dad’s just being an idiot.” Ginny told him.
“And you’re both being disgusting,” Teddy said, in an amazing reproduction of Percy’s loftiest tone.
Ginny could pick out in Teddy so many tiny bits of the people she loved: there was the way he laughed, tilted his head when he thought and sat, exactly the way Remus had; seeing the way he scrunched his nose up was like seeing Tonks again; his questioning eyebrow raise, the covering of a smile as though it weren’t allowed and scornful look were exact copies of Harry; and the way he furrowed his eyebrows together when he read was all Hermione.
Even in physical appearance. Whatever colour his hair might be, it was always the wild Potter hair. His eyes were perpetually the same shade as Harry’s. His nose was long and freckled like Ron’s. His aristocratic Black jawline was identical to Tonks’, Andromeda’s and Sirius’. His giant ears were ditto to George’s. The thing was that Ginny didn’t think any of those were on purpose. There wasn’t much study about metamorphmagi, but she thought they subconsciously based looks (other than eyes and hair which were obvious) on the people they looked up to. And Ginny found it both happy and indescribably sad that his looks were such an amalgamation of different people rather than majorly Tonks and Remus, the way it should have been.
Still. She had learned since the war to take the small joys where they came, even if it was with bittersweet sadness.
Harry checked the old grandfather clock across the hall. “Sure thing, big guy. Bedtime’s soon. Go get your overnight bag from Andromeda’s.”
“Bedtime?” Jamie asked in a whimper, sounding like all the horrors of the world were contained in that single word. “No! Wanna stay.”
Ginny kissed Harry’s cheek and went and scooped her son up in her arms. “Sorry, kiddos. When we say it’s bedtime, it’s bedtime.”
“We’re the bosses,” Harry added, throwing his legs up on the couch.
“TYRANNY!” Teddy howled like it was a deeply moving war cry.
“Are you and Hermione doing that advanced reading thing again?” Harry said, sounding exasperated. “Didn’t we decide to pause on that?”
“But the school story books are booooring,” Teddy whined.
“And I’ve told you, once you get your science grade up to the mark, we’ll reconsider the—”
“Harry,” Ginny interrupted, Jamie yawning in her arms. “Maybe tomorrow?” She nudged her head toward the calendar and saw realization flit across her husband’s face. It was the full moon. Effects on Teddy varied from moon to moon, but he always became easily irritable and incredibly tired. It wasn’t a good day for this confrontation, though she certainly agreed Teddy couldn’t be allowed to skip ahead in one subject while ignoring all the others.
“Good idea,” Harry let the topic go, instead jabbing his wand at the fireplace to make the flames go higher and crouching next to Teddy. “Hey, how about we cuddle on the couch and you read to me until you fall asleep? We can continue the discussion tomorrow.”
“I’m a big boy, I don’t cuddle,” Teddy insisted, though he clearly wanted to. Ginny watched, smiling.
“But I need it. Mission was hard, Ted,” he said, and though it was playful, she saw genuine exhaustion on his face. She made a note to coax a rant out of him later. That always made him feel better.
Teddy stared up at him with wide eyes. “Okay. You got the bad guys?”
“Every single one of them,” Harry promised, the words coming across a lot heavier to her than to Teddy. He looked up and smiled softly at her, breaking the solemnity. “Gin? Joining us?”
Ginny hesitated. She ought to put Jamie to bed and set up the monitoring charms.
“Pwease, mumma?” Jamie said beseechingly.
“Maybe just this once,” she conceded, and all three males cheered. She sat on the couch, putting her legs up. Jamie crawled from her lap to Harry’s, and Teddy snuggled against her shoulder. Harry wrapped an arm around her waist, and the two of them exchanged a happy look over their sons’ heads.
“Ever thought you’d get here?” She asked in a whisper, as Jamie and Teddy argued about the story choice.
He laughed. “Never,” he confessed. “But I couldn’t be happier.”
She blinked the happy tears from her eyes, resting a hand on her stomach. An amazing career. Her incredible infuriating and yet reliable family. Her many friends. Her three beloved boys, plus another child coming.
She remembered watching Luna play the piano once. Her friend had commented that the harmony of the way she played matched her mother’s – that there was no better peace than with the memory of someone you love.
Ginny felt that harmony every time she looked at Harry. And she couldn’t be gladder for it.
He put it pretty well.
“Neither could I,” she agreed, and they settled down for story time.

~at the frozen lake~
Fred trying to balance on his skates: I swear to Merlin if you let go I'm gonna-
Y/n, holding his hand to guide him: Drop a bunch of dung bombs in my room and yada-yada. Yes, I've heard your threats, Freddie.
Fred: *almost falls* Why did I agree to this?
Y/n: Because you love me. *Grins while kissing his cheek*
Fred, sighing: Yeah I do unfortunately.
~somewhere on the frozen lake~
Sirius: *trips and screams*
Remus: *bursting out laughing*
Sirius, glaring: Stop laughing and help me up.
Remus, still laughing: *leans down to pick Sirius up*
Remus: Fine- *also trips and falls onto the ice*
Teddy, who saw the whole thing: *Laughing extremely hard* That's your fifth fall today, I'm amazed your butts haven't gone numb yet.

New Story! FFN and AO3
Snooping for presents is a common pass time around Christmas, especially in the Potter household. A fluffy family Christmas story featuring Harry, Ginny, and all the kids. Hinny Fluff. One-shot.
A little fluffy Christmas drabble.
For the amazing @thisismegz ! Congratulations, darling! You're beautiful and I hope everyone treats you with the same kindness you've always given to me. Love you!
Skirr
“Hurry, Lily! Mum and Dad are gonna be home any second!”
“When snooping for Christmas presents when your parents aren’t home, shouldn’t you be more worried about me?” Teddy poked his head into Harry and Ginny’s bedroom. “Besides, Ginny wouldn’t lay them out in plain sight when she knows you’re her son.”
Lily’s little head peeped out from under the bed and she blew her fringe from her eyes.
“They aren’t here Jamie.”
Jamie’s shoulders slumped forward.
“What about you, Al?”
Al’s head popped out of the clothes in the closet. “Nothing.”
“Maybe they didn’t get us anything.” Jamie sighed.
“Don’t be silly.” Teddy laughed. “They’re your parents. They got you something. And even if they didn’t, you haven’t been so bad that Father Christmas would forget you entirely.”
“But last year we found them, and the year before that too.”
“Then they probably hid them really well this year. Come on, let’s go back downstairs.”
Teddy chuckled as all the kids filed out of the Potter’s bedroom. He remembered when he used to act that way, snooping around for presents at Christmas time. He was more mature than that now. Now he’s trusted to help set out presents at the appointed time; and he knows that his family loves him enough to find presents he’ll like.
Jamie’s head was nearly down by his shoes as he slumped down the stairs and his older brother took pity on the poor lad.
“How about I get out the biscuits and what’s left of the wassail from yesterday and we can play a game till your parents get home?”
“Alright,” Jamie said with a little shrug of his slumped shoulders.
The game and sugar worked wonders and by the time Harry and Ginny were home, Jamie had forgotten all about snooping for presents.
“Thank you for watching them for us.” Ginny hugged him. “I’m sure there were better things to be doing than watching your god-siblings.”
“I don’t mind.” Teddy placed their mugs in the sink. “Oh, and you should know Jamie had them snooping in your room for presents.”
Harry chuckled. “He won’t find them there.”
“I didn’t think he would.” Teddy nodded. “But I thought I’d give you a heads up.”
“Have you done all your shopping?” Ginny put her hand on his shoulder. “I could take you tomorrow.”
“I got everything with Gran when the train came in. She said we were already in London and might as well take advantage of it.”
“Smart woman, your Gran.” Harry smiled. “Now why don’t you run on up to bed and we’ll get you back home in the morning.”
Teddy wished them both goodnight and headed for the stairs.
“You know.” Ginny’s voice was quiet. “I’m going to take a lot of joy one day in telling Jamie that all the presents were right in front of him the whole time.”
Teddy paused, curious if she’d reveal the hiding place.
After all, he should know so as to steer Jamie in the wrong direction.
“That spot only works for as long as I don’t need my cloak for work.” Harry’s voice was almost too quiet to be heard.
“I’ll be sure to ask Father Christmas to keep all the baddies away until Christmas.”
“You’ll need to ask him to keep the kids off the ceilings as well, then.”
Teddy’s jaw dropped, and he looked above him.
His godparents had hid the presents on the ceiling and then covered them with Harry’s invisibility cloak? Jamie would never even think to check the ceiling! Teddy wasn’t even supposed to know Harry had the cloak, but he’d eves dropped from this same spot before and heard about it then.
Satisfied that Jamie wouldn’t be able to ruin his Christmas surprises, Teddy walked up the stairs to his room.
“He’s in his room.” Harry wrapped his arms around Ginny’s waist and kissed her neck.
“Do you think he believed us?”
“Of course he did, or he wouldn’t have gone upstairs.” Harry kissed her again, ready to move their conversation on to other things.
“Hold that thought.”
Ginny slipped from his arms and laughed at the pout Harry gave her for that. She picked up her wand and brought the box of old mugs down from atop the refrigerator. Then pulled the last of the Christmas gifts from the bags and shrunk them down to fit inside the mugs. She placed the box back on top of the refrigerator.
“There.” She slid up against him. “Now, where were we?”
Harry pulled her close and spoke low against her ear. “Somewhere along these lines.”
Ginny’s response was a quiet moan as she melted into him.
“Take me to bed, Mr. Potter.”
“With pleasure, Mrs. Potter.”
Harry swept her into his arms and up the stairs to their room. No one was going to be finding their presents early, not even Ginny.
Jamie definitely got his snooping from her.

Day 11 of @remadoramicrofics - That's Disgusting
Remus watched lovingly as Tonks prompted Teddy through the platform. He smiled as Teddy braced himself and set off for the wall before disappearing. Remus glanced around one last time before slipping through after them. As soon as he passed through, he was assaulted by a barrage of noise. Parents stood with their children – some fighting to get away and some clinging to their legs.
Teddy turned to him. “Do you take the train, Da?”
“No, I have to be there early – someone has to welcome you!” When Teddy had turned six, Minerva had arrived at the Lupins’ doorstep with a job offer, noting that Remus would no longer need to be a stay-at-home father.
Remus had politely refused, hoping to spare her the criticism Dumbledore had received following his hire. Minerva was insistent, though, and had roped Dora in on it. Eventually, he had agreed to return to teach Defense Against the Dark Arts on the condition that he could commute from Hogsmeade.
Teddy looked at his mother with wide eyes. “Do you think if I change my hair, the hat will let me pick my house?”
“Which house do you want?”
Teddy froze and Remus watched his hair dull from a vibrant teal to an icy blue. “I don’t know, which one do you think I should pick?”
“It doesn’t matter what house you’re in, Teddy,” Remus assured him with a hand on his shoulder.
“You and Harry were in Gryffindor,” he pointed out.
Remus shrugged. “Yes, but your mother was a Hufflepuff and your Nan a Slytherin. Luna and Penelope were both Ravenclaws.”
“There’s no bad house,” Dora stressed.
Teddy nodded resolutely. “Alright.”
Tonks grinned. “Want us to walk you on the train?”
“No,” he said quickly and set off a few paces ahead of them, muttering, “how embarrassing.”
“Can you believe that our baby’s all grown up? I suppose that makes you a bit of an old man,” Dora teased.
Remus rolled his eyes. “He’s hardly all grown up.” He smiled at her. “Thinking of trading me in for a younger model?”
“Oh, you know I would never,” she smacked him playfully as they followed Teddy. It was getting a bit harder to keep up with him; he had pulled a hat over his head. As of late, his hair had been cycling through house colors while his eyes remained a steely gray. Dora had told Remus that the same happened to her the night before she left – she had been so overwhelmed she could control her morphs.
“Harry!” Remus said as he embraced his son’s Godfather. “Glad you could make it.”
“Are you kidding? I wouldn’t miss seeing my Godson off to Hogwarts.” Harry looked Teddy over. “A bit nervous, are we?”
Teddy shrugged. “Maybe.”
“He’s worried about the sorting,” Dora whispered.
“Oh, nothing to worry about there,” Harry said, “It doesn’t hurt a bit.”
Remus found himself chuckling at the joke. Harry had always looked like James, but lately Remus noticed he had begun to act a bit more like him, too. Sometimes, it was painfully hard to watch – especially the older Harry got, knowing his father had never reached that milestone.
He had felt that way the night he had come home from the battle – he was married, with a son he would raise, but he had spent the whole night wondering if he had deserved it. James and Sirius had never had such opportunities and they were far more deserving, could have been far better at it. When he had confessed these feelings to Nymphadora on a particularly sleepless night, he thought, for just a moment, that she was going to literally knock some sense into him.
She had simply pulled him close and insisted that everyone deserved to be happy and loved – it wasn’t something he had to earn – and that, really, his friends would only want the best for him. More surprisingly, though, she told him that she understood. That the ministry used to harp about survivor’s guilt after missions but that she had never really felt it until that night.
Remus was brought back to the conversation by Dora’s gentle hand on his arm. Teddy was rolling his eyes at something Harry had said and Harry was grinning at them. Remus, despite his usual hesitance at public displays of affection, pulled Dora into a quick kiss. “I love you,” he whispered.
“I love you more,” she said as she pulled him into another.
They broke apart at Teddy’s indignant protests. “Mum, Da, stop! That’s disgusting!”
Remus chuckled and ducked his head to hide his blush but Dora just laughed. “Oh, just you wait, your Nan used to give me a big kiss on the cheek right before she’d put me on the train.”
She lunged for him, but Harry grabbed her. “Run, Teddy, I’ll hold her off!”
Teddy looked like he was considering it, but Remus caught a hold of his arm, “There will be no more embarrassing Teddy,” he declared, calling a truce between the three of them. “But you are required to give your mother and I a hug before you board.”
“A side hug,” he bartered.
“A real hug,” he insisted, “or I’ll let her kiss both your cheeks and sneak her into the sorting.”
“You wouldn’t,” Harry cried as Dora pulled out of his grip.
“Don’t test me,” he warned playfully.
“Fine,” Teddy reluctantly agreed, though he hugged his father tight.
“We’re so proud of you,” Remus whispered as he squeezed his son back, “And we always will be.”
Dora sniffled as she held him tight. “You better write to me or I’ll send a howler of me singing,” she threatened.
“I promise,” Teddy said.
“Want help with your things?” Harry asked.
“Sure,” Teddy said as he bounded for the train.
Dora turned to him, slack-jawed. “Can you believe him?”
Remus grinned at her. “Can you blame him; we’re old and embarrassing.”
“Speak for yourself,” she said as she pulled him into another kiss.

Adventures, Big and Small
A new Tedoire fic written for @veronnie-gryffindork, for the Potterverse Gift Exchange 2023. This might be the fluffiest thing I have ever written! Many thanks to @merlinsbudgiesmugglers for helping me make this a tooth rotting fluff fic!
Summary: The annual Weasley summer picnic was the perfect setting for Teddy to propose to his girlfriend of three years, eleven months, and twenty-odd days. Nothing could go wrong, right?
Snippet and link below!
“Do you remember when we were kids?” asked Teddy, as he took her hand in his. “We’d sneak off all the time.”
“We were the big kids,” Victoire replied, grinning. “But you’re the one who always got us into trouble."
"Because it was always my idea to run off with all the biscuits?”
“No, but it was always your idea to hide our treasure.”
Teddy snorted softly at the memories of all those summer days at the Burrow. He and Victoire played pirates. They took their treasure, drew a map, and often ended up on a branch that was too high that they never finished their treasure hunts. Instead, they would be out so late that they’d eat all the biscuits by themselves and get scolded for their adventures.
“So what you’re saying is,” Teddy said, “you haven’t stolen all the biscuits for us today?”
“Oh no, I took them all,” Victoire replied, with a smirk. “I can’t let our tradition go, can I?”

July 2: Garden Hose
"Alright, Scorp," Draco said as he finished setting the table for brunch with Harry and his children. They'd been dating for eight months now and they decided that it was finally time to tell them. "Don't forget-"
"To be on my best behavior," he finished.
"And don't-"
"Only play with Albus and ignore the others," he recited dutifully.
He nodded, "Especially-"
"Lily because James and Teddy will glum onto one another."
Draco chuckled and pressed a kiss to the top of Scorpius' head, "I love you."
He grinned and for just a heartbeat, Draco was looking at his child when he was small. "Love you too," he said. Then he turned back to his mobile and Draco was sitting with a thirteen year old again.
The chime that their wards had been breached went off and Draco brushed his hands over his trousers and dress shirt, straightening them.
"You look fine," Scorpius called and he couldn't help but huff a laugh.
When he opened the door, he was met by the sound of three voices arguing, while Harry tried to get them to stop. "Godric," he said when the door opened, sounding harried and frazzled, and altogether not quite ready. "Sorry that we're late," he said even as the Potter children stumbled through the door, still arguing. "Sorry that we're fighting. Sorry that my shirt has a coffee stain on it and that I'm such a-"
Draco leaned in a pressed a kiss to his cheek, soft and swift, even though no one was paying them a lick of attention.
"Hi," Harry exhaled, eyes meeting Draco's.
"Hello," he said. "Rough morning?"
Harry rolled his eyes, "Like you would not believe."
"You're wearing two different shoes," he pointed out.
The other man looked down at his feet, "fucking-"
"I heard that!" Lily shouted from the patio, giggling as she darted out into the yard and started chasing around one of her brothers.
Harry let his head fall forward onto his chest. "Parent of the year," he said, scrubbing a hand over his face.
"Hey," he said softly, brushing a curl out of Harry's face and tucking it behind his ear. "You're being hard on yourself. We all have our moments."
"Oh?" Harry asked, "When was the last time that you wore two different shoes?"
He chuckled, "I have admittedly never done that, but I've never had to wrangle four teenagers into apparating at once."
"Just you wait," he said darkly.
And something thrilled in the pit of his stomach, at the thought of getting to be a part of all of their lives. He opened his mouth to undoubtedly say something horribly sentimental when there was a great crashing outside.
"Shit," Harry hissed, already moving toward the backyard.
Draco was entirely unprepared for the chaos that met them. Lily was holding up a garden gnome who was kicking his legs in a desperate attempt to get down. James and Teddy were wielding pitchers of juice in their hands, trying to splash Albus and Scorpius. Albus was hiding behind a platter, trying to avoid being splattered by the juice. And Scorpius was holding the garden hose, shooting it at Teddy and James if either of them got too close.
"What in the name of-"
And in that split second, when Draco knew that Harry was about to start beating himself up about ruining brunch, Draco decided to do something ridiculously out of character.
He drew his wand and shouted, "Bullae Maxima!" and bubbles exploded from his wand tip, showering Albus and Scorpius in a stream of bubbles the likes of which neither of them had ever seen. And at the look of incredulity on their faces, Draco burst into helpless laughter.
He looked over at Harry who was just staring at him like he'd lost the plot completely.
Draco laughed, "Well, don't just stand there! Fortify our shields. We'll not let these hooligans beat us!"
Harry blinked and then he was grinning too, his face crinkling with joy in a way that made Draco's stomach ache. He ensconced the two of them in a shield and they advanced on the five teens scattered about the garden.
Their children ganged up on them, but that was alright, since none of them were allowed to use magic. In the end he and Harry had completely drenched them in bubbles and they were laughing and begging for mercy.
Harry was giddy with joy and excitement, chest heaving like they'd had a proper duel instead of dousing their monsters in soap and water. He turned to Draco and caught his hand, pulling him in and kissing him like he didn't care about the fact that they were both still dripping with juice and water. "I love you," he breathed into Draco's mouth.
And Scorpius and Albus let out twin groans of disgust while Lily clapped, Teddy and James were too busy helping one another get the bubbles out of their hair to notice.
"Err-" Harry said inelegantly, pulling away from Draco.
"We're dating," Draco said, giving their children a little bow, "Obviously."
"Obviously," all four boys chorused even as Lily demanded to know more details.
Harry held up a hand, "We were going to tell you over a nice brunch that Draco planned for us," he said, raising an eyebrow. "But someone-"
And at that, all five of them began arguing and pointing fingers.
Draco cleared his throat, "Anyway. You should all get cleaned up. We'll go out for brunch instead."
"But I want to know-" Lily began.
"We'll answer all of your questions at brunch," Harry said, shooing her toward the house. "Floo home, you four and get changed," he said, walking along behind them.
Scorpius scampered off up to his room and once all of the children were through the floo, Harry turned back to Draco. "My children are monsters," he said with a laugh.
"Take after their dad, then," Draco replied easily.
Harry scuffed his toe along the floor and wouldn't quite meet Draco's eye.
"Hey," he said softly, catching his chin. "I love you too."
The other man blinked, green eyes wide as he finally looked at Draco again. "Yeah?"
"Mmm," he hummed as he leaned in and caught a quick kiss. "Go get changed."
"Yes, sir," he teased, fingers clenching in Draco's damp shirt as he pulled him in and kissed him again.
He groaned and let himself be pulled into the kiss. "Go get changed," he laughed a minute later, "Your children are waiting for you."
Harry sighed, "I suppose you're right."
"I'll be here when you get back."
"You better be," he muttered, kissing him again before releasing him and heading toward the floo.
He stared after the green flames for a minute, "always," he murmured.
"Gross."
He startled and turned to find Scorpius flopped over on the sofa.
"I'm happy for you, though," he said.
Draco flicked his braid over his shoulder, "Are you certain?" he asked, sitting gingerly on the edge of the couch and trying not to get everything wet. "It's been just you and me for such a long time-"
"It's mostly been just you for a long time," Scorpius said. "I'm away at school most of the year," he added, "I'm glad you're not alone all the time."
He swallowed, "It doesn't mean that I didn't love your mum-"
"I know," he said quickly, nodding, "But she died over a decade ago," he said and Draco nodded to force back the tears. "I'm glad you're not alone," he repeated.
"You're still the most important-"
"Dad," Scorpius huffed, "I know."
He pressed a kiss to Scorpius' forehead. "Love you."
"Love you," he echoed, "But you're still soaking wet," he added. "And the Potters will be here any minute. You might want to do something about your hair as well."
Draco stood with a laugh, "Don't hold anything back," he teased. "Really just go for the truth."
"Don't wear your slacks, then," he said. "Harry loves your skinny jeans, he never stops staring at your arse when you're wearing them. It's a little gross, but," he shrugged.
He all but choked on his saliva.
"Oh, and he left that blue jumper here," Scorpius continued, "You should wear that. And your tennis shoes."
"I look perfectly respectable," he protested. Because it was true, he had looked very dapper in his pale blue button up, grey slacks, and matching waistcoat.
Scorpius rolled his eyes. "Neither of you are as subtle as you think; Lily is literally the only one who's surprised. Trust me. Harry will love the change of outfit."
"Fine," he said, turning from the room to head upstairs, "but if you're wrong-"
"I'm not!" Scorpius called back.
And Draco couldn't help but smile. Nothing had gone quite according to plan, but that seemed to be how the best decisions of his life had been made.
