What does Eevee see attracting the Beast Bites AU Beasts the most?

I had this idea sitting in my head for a bit and decided to finally make it! As stated before, a cookie has to catch a Beast’s attention first and then hold that attention as the Beast continues to observe them as well as pass all their “challenges” that they set in place to test a potential darling. But what traits grab a Beast’s attention enough for them to scope out a cookie as a potential darling? Let’s get into it, shall we~?

Shadow Milk I see finding intelligence as his most desired trait for his darling. The way you question the world around you, the way you verify facts for yourself, the way you never take his words at face value. Ah~! What a smart lil mouse you are~! A challenge~ That’s just what he likes~

The Beast of Deceit’s tests primarily consist of seeing how you deal with the lies he spreads. How eager are you to figure things out for yourself? Yes, he eventually wants his darling to drown in Deceit with him, but if you fell for his tricks so easily, you wouldn’t be as fun~! He also likes to test your cleverness and wits. How sharp tongued are you? How well do you respond to witty banter? Hopefully in kind~ He loves a good game~

Once Shadow Milk Cookie has come to the conclusion that, yes~! You are exactly what he’s looking for in a darling~! he wastes no time. He draws you in, isolates you, and corners you. Likely kicking and screaming, he drags you into the shadows, placing a swift bite whilst you’re still in a panic. All mine now, lil mousey dear~

Mystic Flour finds herself drawn to cookies who are determined, independent and hard working. She granted wishes constantly when she was still viewed as a great hero, it was all cookies ever came to see her for. They would stand in line for days to ask something of her, and again, and again, and she grew oh so tired of it. So seeing a cookie who is determined to work hard for everything they want, rather than taking short cuts? It interests her, to say the least.

The Beast of Apathy’s tests primarily test one’s determination. How far are you willing to go to get what you desire. How hard are you willing to work? If she offers you an easy way out, will you take it? This also plays out in her favor as she is the least affectionate of the Beasts. She is also comfortable with her darling being able to rely on themselves. She’s also fine with a cookie she’s scoping out working smarter, not harder. It’s the lack of lazy shortcuts that she cares for.

Mystic Flour Cookie’s final test is offering you a wish. She will grant you anything you desire, one thing you do not have to work for. You’re unfortunately stuck either way. If you say yes, she will likely become upset at overestimating you and reduce you to flour, even though she offered. But if you say no, that’s when she takes you, deep into the depths of the Ivory Pagoda. Hers at last, little rabbit…

Burning Spice loves ferocity! The fiercer, the better! He himself has stated that he likes his prey to have a little fight in them. And that’s just what you are. His prey.

The easiest way to catch Burning Spice Cookie’s attention is to stand up to him. Face him head on! Tell him off! Whether you’re afraid or not, having the courage to stand before him without backing down is something he finds impressive. He’ll be a bit taken aback by your boldness, but in a delighted way. Ah, yes~! Feisty~! Just what he’s looking for~! That is the moment you turn from opponent to prey.

It’s after that that the Great Destroyer starts watching you. Testing you. He observes his prey, desiring to see how they rise to the challenges he presents them. Even if you’re not physically strong, if you make up for it with stubbornness and courage, that works just as well. And when you stand your ground once more when he finally appears before you again, he gives you the biggest smirk before taking you down and pulling you away, back to his temple, where he quickly places his claim on you through his bite, all the while you’re screaming obscenities at him. Ah, there’s that fire he adores~ He knew he picked right~ And now he’s sealed the deal… You’re not going anywhere, little kitten~

Eternal Sugar would love a darling who’s gentle and compliant. Someone who loves lounging around and sleeping, just like her, but who also is happy to serve their lover. A homebody. Housewife/househusband material. Someone who enjoys to cook and clean. She’s not necessarily messy or anything, but she is… well, slothful.

The Beast of Sloth, unlike her comrades, doesn’t really do tests. She primarily just observes. The occasional “test” she does is seeing how a potential darling might take care of gifts she leaves them. Do you treasure them? Make sure they’re well taken care of?

Once Eternal Sugar Cookie’s interest is solidified, she’ll swoop down from her clouds and snatch you up. Oh, no need to be scared! She’s not gonna hurt you! Come~ Partake in some sweets~ Rest with her~ Relax and enjoy yourself~ Once your guard is let down and you’re asleep, the claim is placed. So why don’t you just stay forever, darling lamb~

Silent Salt I can see liking someone who is tender and reserved. They are a knight, and the position of knight is one meant to serve and protect. I can see them desiring a kind darling with little strength. Someone they can protect. Someone to adore and dote on them in thanks for their diligent protection. Having someone helpless for a darling also forces them to rely on their Beast for safety, and makes it less likely that they’ll run.

Perhaps the way you first catch the Beast of Silence’s attention is when they see you sitting by yourself, quietly reading with a look of wonder on your face. A fantasy story of monsters, royalty, and courageous knights. You look so peaceful in your serene quiet, and that draws them in.

Silent Salt Cookie’s tests likely mostly consist of testing your reactions to danger. Do you run or freeze? Cling to your allies for protection? Or do you fight them off on your own? They tend to lose interest if they find you possess a hidden strength. But if you continue to act helpless and rely on others, they do something most of the others don’t think to. They swoop in to become your savior. Through this, they form a sorta bond with you, which allows them to more easily lure you into their embrace. You realize too late that you’re trapped. But no need to fret. Your darling knight will keep you safe, sweet dove…

You were awoken by the rays of sunshine streaming in through your blinds and gazed upon your girlfriend and how the pieces of light illuminate on her skin. She looked so peaceful, and with a small smile crept up on her face–she must have been having a good dream.

You hoped that today would be better though, since today was September 1st–her birthday. You had a whole array of gifts and activities for her tonight, like taking her to her favorite restaurant and gifting her that stunning black dress she'd dreamed of wearing on the red carpet. The plans for the day ran through your head in a frenzy–everything had to be perfect, since she was so perfect.

You slowly crept out of bed so as to not wake her, and made your way to the kitchen to make sure all your gifts were still hidden–when you thought of something that might make her day even better, coffee.

You knew she always drank matcha no matter where she went, so you brewed up her iced americano and added some matching and honey just how she liked it, and placed it next to the giant eevee plush she would be receiving this morning.

As you began to brew your own coffee, you heard footsteps from behind you and went into a panic. Wasn't she supposed to be sleeping in? Did the smell of coffee wake her from her slumber?

Before your thoughts could even register, you heard an excited high pitched squeal and hurried footsteps towards you.

“EEEEEE IT'S A BIG EEVEE! Is it for me, Y/nnie? Promise?” Yujin squealed.

“Of course it is silly. Happy birthday, my love.” You said as you placed a kiss on her temple, enjoying the scene of her tightly squeezing the plushie.

“Eevee and I made some coffee for you too, if you want some.” You giggled, nudging the plushie in her arms.

“Oooooh, I knew it was gonna be coffee! It smells soooo good.” She replied, yawning and loosening her grip and heading towards the couch.

“Here you go! I added some matcha in it, so hopefully it tastes better than your usual.” You announced, handing the drink to her and kicking back your feet onto the couch with her. You watched attentively as she took a sip from the straw, hoping she wouldn't gag and spit it out–thankfully, she smiled brightly after tasting it and turned to you exclaiming “Waaaaah it's so yummy! I'm never leaving the house without one of these.”

Now, the next part of your perfect day plan was falling in line, waiting until she was distracted with the eevee and putting on her favorite movie, Inside Out. As the Pixar logo came on the screen, her attention quickly moved towards it, almost frantically.

“Wait babe, can you pause the movie for me? I really wanna watch it, but my hair's a gross mess and I haven't brushed it yet.” She interrupted, running her fingers through her slightly knotted hair from sleeping on it.

“I can brush it for you, Yujinnie–your hairbrush is right here.” You said as you pointed towards the brush on the coffee table. “Besides, you're not a gross mess, you look cute first thing in the morning.” You added, causing her to pout with a smile on her face. 

"I'm not cute, I look like Anxiety when my hair's a mess.” she pouted, undoing her frizzy ponytail and positioning herself between your legs on the floor.

“Still cute, though.” You giggled.

30 minutes into the movie her hair was back to perfect again and the coffee cup was empty, so you motioned for her to come back on the couch–to which she snuggled up into your arms as you ran your fingers through her hair gently.

“I love you, Y/nnie. Today has been so perfect.” She whispered gently.

“The day just started though, and I've got way more planned for you later.” You replied.

“Mmmm, but I'm so cozy, I could stay like this forever. You're all I need.” She replied as she nuzzled into your shoulder.

Your heart fluttered at her words as you started to wonder if maybe you didn't need to plan all of these extravagant things for her after all, even if you felt like she deserved it. 

It all made sense to you now. Even if all your plans for the night were ruined, you knew you'd still be ok as long as Yujin was by your side.

You love astrology and fencing." Elizabeth laughed. "No denying that!" Grey smiles as he whispers something to the hilt that made her look regretful.

Momo blinked, gawking as he looked at Grey, then at Mouse, then at Grey again. “W-weren’t you like t-them a m-m-moment ago….W-wait!” His eyes seemed to somehow grow even wider. “Y-you’re from the festival! I…I….augh….” The Applin gripped his temples as he tried to process. “O-oh…” he mumbled, sitting up. “Um….you were trying to cheer me up, right…? I…I’m sorry, I…I got caught up on….whatever it is you did….that was….that was rude of me. But, um, thank you….that was really, really nice…”

For a moment, all is silent. Then, a small orange bird hops up the alter and past you, examining the offerings. It pecks a bit at the peel of the orange, but seems to realize that it's beak won't penetrate it.

The bird looks up at the bard, tilting its head. It spreads its wings and vigorously flaps its wings to fly and land on top of the orange, clearly it was not made for flying. The bird eyes you, as if urging you to continue.

I could also probably come up with teams for any of my characters, but I have art for these two because I already thought too much about it.

Zoran started his journey with:

Sunkern (representing himself and his home, since I've always associated him with sunflowers)

A scrappy little eevee

And a seviper (Zoran just genuinely likes reptiles and I thought giving him a Pokémon that reads more "evil" would work well, since people's first impression of him as a typical rogue can also be misleading.

After his pact with Vesper, he ends up with:

Vaporeon (shiny to match Marius) It's the same eevee, but Vesper took some liberties here as well.

Just curious about your experiences with the Eevee family....

Which Eeveelution do you think is the most aggressive and which is the least?

I have, actually, very very little experience with the eevee family!

In my home region of Fiore, one can only see the eeveelutions at Fiore temple. Eevee themselves are so rare that there are no verifiable records of them being sighted. The whole family is associated with the legendary beasts and considered sacred within the historical religion of the region.

I've seen them more often in other regions, but even my admiration of them (as seen in photos from my current mission in Lental) is more awe and reverence. I've never had an eevee myself, and only very rarely worked with them as friend pokemon.

So I am a poor judge of the aggression and behavior of the different evolutions. I know umbreon are often described as hostile or difficult, but I believe this is because they have a social/biological role in protecting young eevee at night. Jolteon are known as high--energy pokemon, and vaporeon as more relaxed. But you'd probably get a better answer from someone who actually had eevee.

Snippets: Free Day Thursday

The Pokémon au, or, "in which "human" actually means "human" this time"

For context: the Dark Warrior Program in this au was an experiment by Praxis, boss of Team Krimzon, to create a psychic link between trainers and Pokémon that he chose, by force if necessary. Jak had only been on his Pokémon journey for a month when he and his Eevee got snatched. Sig, an agent of the Wastelands Region posing as a social worker, helped Jak and Daxter beat Kor (a Bug-type gym boss who was struggling with Team Krimzon for control of Haven City). He smuggles them to a military base in the Spargus region, and the boys are separated for check-ups. (Warning for implied past experimentation)

Just another sterile, white room. Another cold metal examination table. No electrodes clamped to his head this time, but what was the difference? He could still feel the Pokémon restlessly moving in their pokéballs. He could sense that...thing Errol had made out of that poor Pyukumuku. The thing Praxis forced him to train, no matter how much it tried to kill him. He could sense its pain, its anger.

Jak glowered at the black and yellow Ultra Ball. I have to feel your pain, the least you could do is stop ignoring mine!

The Type: Null was silent, save for an aura that Jak had come to associate with snarling. In his arms, Vivi raised her hackles and growled in warning at the Ultra Ball resting on the counter. She hadn't battled until her legs gave out just to let some stranger's Pokémon push her Trainer around.

I am never taking you out of that pokéball again, Jak thought, feeling a little vindictive.

The doctors came back into the room with the uniformed man Sig had been talking to. Jak didn’t recognize the rank insignia on his lapel, but he could tell it was higher than Errol. There was a Baile Oricorio running back and forth across his shoulders, chirping in alarm the second it spotted the Umbreon in Jak’s arms. The man raised a finger to stroke the little bird's head soothingly.

"Overall, he's in better condition than we'd initially suspected," said the doctor with the ice cold hands. "He's just below the fifth percentile right now for overall weight, and I am seeing evidence of poor nutrition, so I'm referring him to a nutritionist. Personally, I recommend giving him a snack locker for his room, y'know, personally. Something he has control over."

The doctor with the gloves -- or was she a Professor? -- nodded in agreement. "His Pokémon are in excellent condition, aside from the Umbreon's scar, given the circumstances. I believe he was giving them his own food."

The stern man frowned. He took the clipboard from the Cold Hands Doctor and leafed through the pages.

"And these scars on his temples? Do there appear to be any lasting effects from them?"

"We don't know yet, sir." The doctor shook her head. "Please, let us know if he suffers any headaches, dizziness, or anything else you think could be related to his time in the Haven region."

She opened a cabinet and sighed.

"He...seems to have become acclimated to using potions to treat himself. As if he were a Pokémon. They're not as effective on humans, sir. I'm prescribing a multivitamin at a higher dose than usual, and a probiotic for some gut health issues his friend mentioned. You may have some difficulty getting him to take them. He seems to have a very good reason to distrust medical care."

Jak hugged Vivi closer and glared at the doctor and the strange man. Why wasn't Sig here? Sig had said he was going to take Jak to the place he used to live before Thin Man took him out of his yard and Mr. Hagai took him to Sandover Town. Who was this guy? Why would they have someone in charge looking over the doctor's findings?

Vivi hissed at the man as he took hold of the doctor's rolling chair and dragged it over to sit in front of the table. At a single hand signal from him, the doctor and professor left the room. Jak stared at him, and he stared back.

"Do you remember me?" the man asked quietly.

"I don't remember a lot of things," Jak answered shortly. "Where's Daxter?"

"Two examination rooms down," the man answered. "His new foster family will be taking him home shortly, but if it would help, I can arrange for them to say hello before they leave."

Panic flooded Jak, and he felt the Umbreon settle her full weight onto his legs, grounding him.

"You're separating us?!"

The man raised his hands placatingly. "Calm yourself, little one. He's only going to live fifteen minutes from us."

"Us?! What do you mean us?!" Jak recoiled until he felt cold plaster against his bare back.

The intimidating man rubbed his face as if he were exhausted.

"You're coming with me," he explained. "You're. You're coming home, Jak."

"How'd you even know who I was?" Jak demanded.

Several muted emotions flickered across the man's face, and the Baile Oricorio settled against his stubbly cheek with a comforting trill. He let out a long breath.

"My name is Damas. Ruler and Field Marshall of Spargus, and the entire Almia region. The...the missing posters Sig showed you? The ones going back ten years? I commissioned those."

He swallowed thickly and looked away.

"I...understand that you don't- you don't remember me. Although I hope one day you will. But I-"

His voice caught.

"I'm your father, Jak. And we've been looking for you and your Eevee for a long, long time."

He blinked, swift and hard, and his next words were almost inaudible.

"I've missed you so much."

"Ah! It's working, holy crap!"

"Daxter!" Jak squinted at the phone. "I thought the internet wasn't set up in your housing unit yet!"

"Yeah," his best friend shrugged on the webcam. "But Osmo got bumped up in line for dealing with those leftover Shadow Beedrills that tried to nest in the hangar."

Jak settled into the kitchen chair cross-legged. "Oh yeah. That makes sense, I guess. How...is the Drawers family? Everything still okay there?"

"Still the best foster-family I've had, bar none. Osmo let me put a picture of Mr. Hagai on Ximon's dart board, and he doesn't even tell me to "make myself useful" or whatever. And the mom, Xandra? She let my Pokémon sit at the table with me and everything. How's the weirdo they sent you to live with?"

Jak shrugged. "Gone a lot. Government meetings or something- by the way Sig is 100% not a real social worker, you were right. He's a secret agent for my...I guess he's my dad?"

"Told ya. No way a real Haven social worker would get us out of that city."

"Oh. And I have a little brother. Or half-brother? I'm not sure. He's three and he's staring at me while eating a ketchup sandwich. Just. Just ketchup and bread. Geez, that's creepy looking- Dude your face looks like a crime scene."

"Want some?"

"Uh...no, no thanks."

"Otay."

Jak made a face at the phone. "The kid has a Totodile, too, and it ate one of my shoes. Damas got real embarrassed and promised to buy more shoes? Which is nice I guess? And he and his wife -- I don't know if she's my mom yet or not -- said they'd let me paint my room- Dax, Vivi and I have our own room. It's weird not bunking with you."

The Umbreon nudged at his hand insistently, hearing her name. She could hear Daxter's voice, and was peering under chairs as if she might find him there.

"Ugh, same. I share a room with Ximon and he snores, but he always falls asleep on the couch playing video games so I kinda have my own room? It is weird though. Junior keeps opening drawers and peeking around the door. I think he's looking for Vivi?"

Mar tugged Jak's sleeve. "Big Kid."

"It's Jak."

"Jak big kid, da schoo' bus is here."

"Crap. Gotta go, Dax. See you in class?"

"Maybe? I don't have my schedule yet-" a muffled voice interrupted from somewhere outside the door, causing Daxter's Pawmo to leap up into his hair to hide. Daxter rolled his eyes. "I'm COMING, Ximon! See ya, Jak!"

The bright red backpack didn't really feel like his yet. He didn't know what any of the books inside were, and honestly he didn't care. All he cared about was that Damas and Phobos had promised that the teachers would allow Vivi to stay out of her pokéball. Jak grumbled under his breath and slung the bag over his shoulder. First day at Cooper Memorial Middle School. Two weeks until they got out for summer. He could survive that, provided the Type: Null stayed in its ball.

- Her parents Eevie & Derek moved from London to a different town called Moirvdonne. What they didn’t know this town is magical and it’s hidden from the map and other people (humans) on Earth.

- Things were good at first until she lost her parents to due her powers, she killed them unintentionally. She froze the whole house, After this, she was taken to an orphanage where she experienced horrible bullying and negligence from older people.

- She befriended a kid named Billy, he was a good friend. He and Selviya used to play together in the orphanage playground. One day a man named Louis Martian escaped the jail and killed Billy.

- When she turned 9 Years old, a Thai-British couple adopted her. Their names are Maria and Aran.

- When she turned 15 YO. She found an injured white ferret on the street, she took it to the nearest vet. The doctor said it was only minor injuries due to the ferret falling from a tree. After that, she took it to her home and took care of it. A bond was made between these two, They became inseparable, She named the ferret ‘Casper’ after her favourite cartoon Casper the Ghost.

The air hung heavy on the beaches of Alola -- Ashe 19, Kianga 18. The two barely knowing each other but already like siblings. Such a comment had been unexpected in the silence, but she often wondered how his mind worked, this mysterious young man she had met in the rain. She didn't know exactly what was on his mind either, but his eyes... his eyes held such a forlorn expression that it made her feel somber -- at least for what she could feel with being numb to everything.

Noting her Eevee and his Zoroark watching them, she carefully reached out to lay a hand on his, prompting him to look over at her as she cast her gaze skyward. She swallowed down her emotions hard, the urge to cry coming forth.

"... I'm sure you'll get to see them if you look hard enough before that." She pauses. "My gr--..." She trails off, taking a moment to correct herself. "... Someone I love told me once that when people go, you'll often find them not just beyond the Great Veil, but also in the little things they did." She paused then. "... But I wonder if that counts for the pieces of you that didn't exactly get to live either?"

Silence greeted her question and what hand she had been resting hers on gently laid itself to her head, pulling her over to rest against his gently, softly. "I cannot answer such a question because I seek that answer too... but I can tell you that it is something we will probably question for as long as our long lives take us through." He had tried at least, and Ashe was grateful for it.

Stirring from her dream, Ashe sat up in the late afternoon, the sun pouring through, the sounds of people outside talking and things being lifted for the preparations to the festival. She swore she heard some familiar voices of acquaintances they have made from the festivals too, but her mind was locked onto the memory... dream? she had had. Maybe it was prompted by the fact Grusha had asked a question not to anyone, but to himself she supposed, about this idea of 'change' and not just that, but the idea of moving on.

She had long pondered the idea of the 'Ikiriyo' she had heard about as well and it hadn't took long for her to see shadows of a girl wearing an Eevee mask, crying softly, and she was guarded by a second girl -- a teenager who radiated anger, still wearing an Eevee mask. Ashe knew who they were and while she had every intention of settling things, she had caught them out of the corner of her eye every time something bad had happened to Willow who was curled up with Larvae presently nearby. She hadn't said anything to Leon just yet, but angered surged through her because they sought to harm her daughter. Her future -- her chance at happiness... all because she hadn't made things right with them yet. She supposed it was her own impatience that was showing in them, that led them to act in such a way and not give her the time to do so, but she still felt fury towards the Ikiriyo she gave off.

Rubbing her temples, she got out of the futon and went to sit beside her daughter, all too aware that she was being watched by said Ikiriyo right now. She felt something brush against her in that being Lucky, and slowly both turned to look at the spirits with a mix of hurt and anger. They cowered back but remained firm in remaining.

Ashe said nothing to them, but she and Lucky turned back to watch over Willow and Larvae, one ribbon finding its way around Ashe's arm as the woman softly exhaled to try and release a bit of tension that now had found its way into not just her body, but her heart as well, in preparation for tomorrow's festival.

So before my mom banned pokemon from our house (probably when I was around 7?) we loved Pokémon. We never had a video game console but my cousins did. So technically pokemon stadium is my first pokemon game! Only ever the rentals haha. But we loved playing the mini games.

When my mom banned pokemon and sold all our plushies (rip butterfree plush, I'll get you back some day) it was a pokemon drought. Until my cousin went to college and gave me her pokemon card collection. (Supposedly the halo mew is worth $100?! But I treasure them) and the brainrot infected me once again.

I started learning everything I could about game mechanics. This was when Gen 5 came out in Japan so you didn't even have the English translations yet! I made lists of what my teams would be in each game, how to divy up the HMs, how to get certain egg moves. All without playing a single game lol.

And then I found playr.org. It had all the retro game boy games. Including Pokémon Red, Blue, Yellow, Gold, Silver, and Crystal. Unfortunately the saving system wasn't so great and got corrupted a few times (rip shiny ekans) but I did mostly play Silver or Crystal. (This is where the name Wren for my character was born!)

I craved more but I didn't know how to download emulators safely :( I watched playthroughs to get by. To this day let's plays are a comfort source for me <3

By the way I did all of this without my parents ever knowing. I was very good at hiding it from them XD

I think it was finally like freshman year of college when I figured out the pokemon fan games. I'm talking Uranium, Phoenix Rising demo, Ethereal Gates demo, Solar Light Lunar Dark, Sage, aka non emulator ones. Basically any I could get my hands on. I also started drawing fakemon in my sketchbook. I kind of want to revisit those some day. I still have the sketchbook somewhere.

Then I figured out emulators FINALLY. At least enough and got an emulator and mystery dungeon explorers of sky, MY BELOVED! I have played through the rom many times. I have a randomizer. Also a few years ago I found Sky Temple for editing the rom aka different starter pokemon. The discord server is always working on making new sprites so you can be any pokemon you want its very wonderful.

Junior year of college, I said I'd had enough. I spent an entire year hyping over Sun and Moon and my bestie/roomie convinced me to treat myself, something I literally never did. I bought a 3DS and Pokemon Sun and never looked back. I loved it. My first real pokemon game. (My parents were not happy when they found out lol). I spent so many hours. I got big into breeding perfect IV pokemon (idk why cause I never did online battles) or shiny breeding. I used to work til 11 pm some nights and before bed I'd just do some breeding. I would have the pokemon in the perfect ball and have all the egg moves and perfect IVs and nature and have the perfect nick name cause I was obsessive like that oof. I got ultra moon when it came out as well and loved it. I also bought pokemon X and Omega Ruby which I enjoyed. But Sun and Ultra Moon I played many times and bred so many perfect pokemon.

I did pick up roms around this time for Heart Gold, Soul Silver, Black and White and the sequels, and maybe Platinum? But they ran really slow on my computer so I never made it far. I preferred playing on my 3ds. But I still played quite a bit of Sky rom.

I was, less excited about Sword and Shield. I saved up a whole year to buy my switch and bought Lets go Eevee, Botw, and Sword when Gen 8 came out. I did inhale the entire game of Sword in one week, but I don't think I ever finished a second playthrough. The story was really disappointing and I did not like the gen 8 pokemon as much. It's hard when you're not a big fan of any of the starter evolutions, cause pressing B for every level up is tedious :(

I did enjoy Lets Go Eevee but after I loaned it to my bestie I had troubled getting back in. The ball throwing was a little off putting.

Oh I also bought Mystery dungeon Rescue Dx and I enjoyed that quite a bit!

Last summer I was struggling a lot with my emotions and frustration with my mom and as a form of therapy started spending money oof. I wanted a second DS so I could trade back and forth and make my life easier. It took a lot of bidding on Goodwill online but I snagged a second 2ds, legit copy of pmd sky! and pmd gates to infinity. And Pokemon Soul Silver! Also I bought the digital versions of gen 1 and 2 before the eshop closed.

I also bought Shining Pearl cause it went super on sale, but after I lent it to my bestie I haven't played since. I actually dont like too many gen 4 pokemon besides Glaceon, Leafeon, and Chatot.

Playing pokemon mystery dungeon on a 3ds instead of a computer keyboard was so much more satisfying. I played through Sky and loved it of course. Then I picked up Gates to Infinity which I never knew the story. I enjoyed it! I was and Oshawott with partner Snivy.

This brings me to last late summer, and the turtle brainrot set in and grew. Less pokemon, more turtles! I debated back and forth whether to get Scarlet or Violet up til the day it released. And then I just didn't. I watched playthroughs though. Seems pretty good and I like a lot of the pokemon, especially after gen 8 when I struggled to find enough to fill out a team of 6. I only like to use pokemon I like. I'm sure I'll get it someday but for now, turtles have my brain.

And that's my pokemon origin story! Still mad about my mom selling all our pokemon plushies. I do still have my cousins pokemon cards and I treasure them <3

hmm ok so like its reallllllly hard for me to decide on a favorite all time pokemon but im kinda like fostering an eevee rn might be adopting him soon so i've had eevee on the mind but anyway. when i was younger i really liked marzia and the seven harlequins, it's not really a whole book, i remember reading it for the first time when i was in like 4th grade for reading comprehension practice lmfao. but basically its this story set in a post apocalyptic world where this girl marzia turns 15 and she recieves a communication that she and her eevee, alongside seven of her friends of her choice and their pokemon, have to journey to the center of their country (which i think was like a place most regular people are forbidden from seeing) in order to reset this timer thing which is counting down to the end of the world. so marzia takes her eevee with her and she meets up with her seven friends, who each also have an eevee. so the eight of them make their way to the center of the country and make it past the gates, revealing that there are these seven temples which contain like special stones that marzia has to collect in order to reset the timer. unfortunately, each of her seven friends betray her, taking the special stones for themselves and it's implied that they're using the stones to evolve their eevees into flareon, jolteon, vaporeon, espeon, leafeon, glaceon, and sylveon but the doors to the temples lock, so marzia can't see what happens. after this occurs, at each temple marzia and her eevee have to go to the timer and attempt to reset it without any of the stones, only for them to find that the purpose of the eight companions were to use the energy that came from evolution in order to power the timer, thus acting as sacrifices, but despite that there wasn't enough evolution energy to reset the timer with just those seven. when marzia and her eevee learn of this, they are both filled with sorrow and an intense love for their friends, and marzia's eevee evolves into an umbreon, which is the final piece of the puzzle which resets the timer and allows the world to keep going and live on. the title is marzia and the seven harlequins because her seven friends appear to betray her at first but that was actually marzia being unable to see past the masks they wore. i think the moral was that like even if we don't see it at first, people do care for and love us, and that even if some people aren't meant to stay in our lives forever they can help us grow even after their time with us. idk i liked it a lot as a kid

Tumblr... 😩 this post *finally* finishes the first Twitter thread. I should have pulled photoshop way earlier.

So new town [Aerous City] has:

- A cafe where you can have a battle (not sure if it's a daily event)

- Some guy selling the amulet coin for 5k bucks (I would rather find it for free as other game but alright)

- A good joke

Also you can give some guy a harbor mail and he'll thank you with the shock wave TM - pretty damn useful early game if you ask me.

One last thing before progressing: there's a house where you can have "inverted" battles where the type matchups are completely reversed. meaning you can use water against water/grass for 4x weakness, electric as super effective on ground etc.

But it's time to move the plot I guess?

So in the end there wasn't much plot stuff but it's a bit refreshing that you don't get to battle admin/bosses of the villain team straight away. oh and I guess these guys have some restore-the-glory-days-of-the-past kind of deal.

After that you finally get to enter an art gallery where you'll battle... a bunch of smeargles with gimmicky movesets. really. It's a grand total of 10 smeargles and ngl, it wasn't particularly hard but got tiresome quick. you get an egg by the end.

alright babes here are some updates

Plot's still slow, you gotta reach some temple now. the gyms almost feel like an afterthought here, since you don't need badges to use HMs. So I evolved Prinplup, Mareep and the artist's egg was an Eevee.

I had to slow down a bit though cause a lot of my team is underevolved and a few opponents are getting rough. on the way to the next town there was a guy with an Absol...

...and when you get in town, you rival asks for a battle and he has a Grotle with curse that kicked my ass the first time - I only have a flying physical attacker to deal with it, you see. I regret not actually spending some time looking for a Litwick now.

A few cool things in the [Nestpine] town:

- You gain access to move deleter right before the second gym;

- Rayquaza is the first legendary mentioned in this game despite Regigigas being the one in the title screen;

- There's a guy that changes your mons balls to nest balls.

The gym is this town is a flying-type with a cute gimmick: you need to press the button on the ground to play the chatot tiles sequence you have to reproduce to open a path.

And there is kirlia. god please be less useless.
