Sometimes whenever I see Minato with his shirt off in game it takes me by genuine surprise. I have to remind myself periodically that in game he's cis.

Wukong ♡ Part Of The Family
I'm not dead whoop- Just lost motivation and also didn't really have time. I don't know if I'm now fully back, but here have this one-shot... And a Mink (Ink MK) X Reader is in the making as I'm publishing this one-shot. c:
And Wukong's got a thing for MK's mom in this one...
Tumblr media
ⓘ Reader is USING SHE/HER PRONOUNS
 ♡ ~ Fluff ~ ♡
"Alright, I'll be heading home now."
"Make sure not to forget your backpack this time."
"Oh c'mon, I told you I was in a hurry yesterday, Pigsy! Anyway, see you tomorrow."
And with that, you put on your backpack and made your way over to the front door of the noodle shop. You were casually walking outside, humming a tune that's been stuck in your head the entire day... Until you noticed a little boy standing there, nude and covered in dirt, just staring at the noodle shop's bright light in awe. Confused and concerned, you glanced around the area in search for any possible parent looking for their runaway child. But there was no one even walking around the street. It was almost closing time for many people, after all.
When the boy still didn't move, you decided to take action. Slowly approaching the boy, you kneeled down to be more at his height. "Hey there, sweetie. How did you end up here like this? Are you lost? What's your name?" He looked at you, then back at the shop. Yet, he did not talk. Scratching your head in thought, you decided to approach the situation differently. "So, uh... Are you hungry? I'm sure I can let Pigsy take a bit off my paycheck for some noodles. I don't think he would turn down cooking for a kid in need."
Again, he just looked at you, then back at the shop. You sighed. This would be a fun problem to solve past closing hours. Extending your hand out towards the boy, you stood up. "C'mon, sweetie. Let me at least get you inside. I'd rather have you sit inside in the warmth than standing outside in the cold and dark once the sun is gone. I'm sure we can help find your parents."
This time, the boy looked at you, then at your hand. He hesitantly placed his tiny, kinda dirtied hand in yours and you began to slowly lead him inside the noodle shop's light.
Your boss was kind and helped you clean him up and gave him spare clothes, which looked a bit too big on the boy, then cooked up a meal for him. Sadly, you were unable to figure out what happened to him or where his parents were. You even looked outside the shop in the dark occasionally, trying to hear or see anyone who was looking for their child. But nothing came of it. Eventually, you found out the child's name and... It was really long. And since neither you or Pigsy could be bothered with saying it, you decided to nickname him MK. Your choice of the nickname was actually inspired by the legendary Monkey King, how he also had a really long name that got shortened for convenience as well.
A couple of days passed and there still was no parent looking for their child, nor was there any missing person report regarding a young boy with his descriptions...
You were basically taking care of MK during day and night, taking him home with you. At one point you suggested placing him in an orphanage, but MK only started to sob and cry, hugging your leg, not wanting to leave you. And being unable to say no, you accepted your fate. Hell, you even went the extra mile and became his legally adoptive parent with the paperwork you filled out, with Pigsy as uncle-figure of course.
As time went on, so did the years of development for your son. He moved out of your house and moved into the apartment Pigsy owned right above his shop, making him have a much easier time going to work. Meanwhile, you decided to travel through other towns all around the country, sending many little souvenir gifts and postcards over to Megapolis for MK to see, as well as keeping in touch with him through texts. And just a few years later, you heard news about various demons attacking your Megapolis, and how a boy called the Monkie Kid saved the city multiple times. Concerned, you started to travel back to the city, trying to get back as soon as you could to make sure your son and your former boss were alright.
To be honest, you arrived at a probably horrible time.
Looking at the city's skyline in the distance, you had to rub you eyes in confusion. Were you seeing this right? The city was partially covered in what seemed like giant ice shards... Did climate change really hit this area this bad the past years? It wasn't like it covered everything, but there certainly seemed to be a lot of icy remains. Shaking your head to regain focus, you proceeded with your self-proclaimed mission of checking on your son and your former boss. Cautiously making your way through Megapolis... the city seemed rather ruined. People were seemingly trying to get rid of any remaining ice as well as just generally trying to recover from whatever occurred. You were more confused if anything. What happened? Was this the aftermath of an attack of a demon you heard and read about in the news?
You then found your way back to Pigsy's Noodles. The noodle shop didn't seem to have changed at all. Upon entering, you immediately recognized some familiar and some unfamiliar faces. But the three you were most happy about to see were MK, Tang and Pigsy. You grinned, staying quiet as you leaned against the wall next to the entrance.
"MK! Order up!" Pigsy yelled out with a smile... It was certainly strange to see him smiling, but you weren't going to complain. Nice to know he was happier than when you left.
"On it, boss!" MK exclaimed as he swiftly grabbed the ordered bag. Though, as he turned to leave, his eyes spotted you... He froze, almost tripping over himself as he nearly let the noodle order fall in absolute shock. The boy simply looked at you with wide eyes... Before he started to tear up and seemingly hugged you at lightspeed. "MOM! YOU'RE BACK! I MISSED YOU! IT'S BEEN SO LONG!"
You chuckled as you tightly hugged him back, slightly tearing up yourself. "I'm home, sweetie..."
Of course, due to MK still having to go on his delivery route, he didn't have time to catch up with you just yet. However, you asked if you could join him on his delivery to catch up while he drove around. And of course, he happily agreed. Though, it was interesting to see where he went for those deliveries... The way he so casually delivered those noodles to so many demons with you... However, he was inhumanly fast at it. You were actually intrigued... What happened to your son while you were gone? Why was he suddenly so fast? Sure, he was a pretty hyperactive kid at least since you and Tang told him about the legend of the Monkey King, but this speed was new to you.
However, it wasn't until the last delivery where you were really questioning things. He had to deliver to Sun Wukong, the legendary Monkey King. At first you were under the assumption that he was supposed to place the delivery as an offering at his temple... You did not expect your precious baby boy to crash into a rock solid wall, apparently revealing the Monkey King's home on the other side, and creating a hole in the wall from excitement... Yeah, you definitely were missing out on major context here for sure. And if that wasn't enough, the legendary Monkey King himself was actually standing behind said wall and casually greeted your son as if it were just another day... Was this real? Didn't Sun Wukong supposedly vanish since he sealed the Demon Bull King? Was this a fake? You were actually internally freaking out at the sight of the legend himself from the stories. Though, you tried to keep calm and not squeal like a fangirl. He looked too real to be a human in a costume...
"Hey, bud!" Monkey King greeted MK before noticing you. He blinked at you in confusion. "Oh- Who's your friend?"
But before you could introduce yourself, MK hugged you excitedly from the side. "Monkey King, this is my mom! Mom, meet Monkey King!"
You awkwardly wave with a nervous, not sure if you were even allowed to be here. "Uh... h-hey."
"My mom and Mr.Tang are the reason I became a fan of your stories in the first place! She's a huge fan of you too!" MK said excitedly, which made you blush in embarrassment as you pursed your lips, mentally wanting to shut your son up from talking about you and your interests.
Monkey King couldn't help but snort at the dynamic you and your son have. He didn't even need his powers to notice the clear embarrassment and awkwardness you felt at your son's words. "Well, I'm glad to be able to meet the mother of my successor." The ginger-furred simian held out his hand for you to shake. You smiled awkwardly and hesitantly shook his hand, internally screaming that you were literally shaking hands with the Sun Wukong...
But then his words hit you and you looked at him and MK in confusion. "Wait a minute... Successor? Of the Monkey King?" You gave MK a slight glare. "He didn't tell me anything about that..." Your son laughed sheepishly, to which the Monkey King grinned smugly at him.
"Whaaat? You didn't tell your mom about how you can wield my staff and powers? And how you did a bunch of hero stuff?" Monkey King teased the poor boy. MK really just wanted to disappear right about now in fear of your silent rage.
"MK, I'm not mad that you didn't tell me... Well, I kind of am. But I'm mainly just worried about you and your safety, sweetie." You stated as you kissed MK's forehead. The way you handled MK seemed to very slightly stir something deep inside the Monkey King... He didn't know what it was, but it made him feel a little funny. It was a rather pleasant feeling... Just the way you talked with MK and treated the boy who was somewhat of a son to him.. Wait.
Actually- Nevermind, he realized something.
MK whined a bit, "Mooom, but I'm grown up already! I can handle some bad guys, even the big ones!"
"And I'm supposed to believe it how? Sure I've seen you running extremely quickly, but I haven't seen you use any actual powers- Besides you breaking the wall-" You paused. Then you turned towards the Monkey King and bowed a little. "I'm terribly sorry that my son broke your wall! How much would it cost to fix it? I-I'm sure I can cover the cost somehow-"
"Psh, it's fine, don't worry about it, Miss (Y/N). No need to pay for it. We tend to destroy walls surprisingly often during training. I can just easily fix it later myself if necessary", Monkey King cut you off. He then got an idea of how to prove it all. He placed his hands on his hips and grinned. "Well, speaking of training... How about your son and I show you what he can do already? We haven't been training in a while anyway, so it could be a nice refresher after everything that happened with the Lady Bone Deeeuuuuhhhh... Forget that part, actually."
You give both a confused and somewhat suspicious look. Now it was Monkey King's turn to laugh nervously. "Aahahaaaanyway- Let's show her what you've learned so far, bud!" He then grabbed you and MK and lead you outside to the cliffside of his home, where him and MK would usually chill and train at. And to give credit where credit is due, it did seem like MK learned quite a bit from his mentor. He even performed some of Monkey King's 72 transformations to show off his skills. Of course you were proud and happy for your son, but you were still a little worried about him having to face actual threats as the legend's successor.
That's when Monkey King started to act... strange, as MK would put it. He wanted to spar with the young boy, which was fine... But unlike their usual sparring sessions, this time his mentor was shirtless. MK immediately knew something was up because he has never seen him spar shirtless since there was no need. Monkey King never even break a single sweat during training. Nor did he ever overheat...
Meanwhile, you couldn't help but eye the ginger-furred monkey's physique. Despite being on the rather lean side, he did have refined muscles on him which were clearly visible due to the bright sunlight. Monkey King noticed your staring and only seemed to move more in a calculated way as he dodges MK's attacks. It was if he was showing off his body more, which made you faintly blush while he grinned... You thought he was grinning because of how easily he dodged MK's attacks with his staff.
However, Monkey King seemed so distracted and was holding back by showing off his body that he did not manage to block one attack from MK. The attack knocked the monkey to the ground due to him losing his balance in surprise. MK laughs victoriously at his mentor's defeat since the task was to land a hit. "Ha! I did it!"
Monkey King blushed a bit in embarrassment as he watched you hold back your laughter. He sheepishly smiled at his successor before using his tail to help himself off the ground. "Yeah, you sure did bud. Congrats."
Suddenly, your phone rang, capturing the attention of both of them. Looking at your phone, you noticed it was Pigsy calling. You sighed as you turned towards the other two. "I'll be right back, I got a call." You said before going a bit further away from them so you could be able to peacefully listen to what Pigsy wanted to talk to you about.
Meanwhile, MK just had to make sure of something. He raised an eyebrow at his mentor, grinning smugly. "Soooo... My mom...~?"
Monkey King blushed as he looked away, laughing nervously as he scratched his cheek. "Ahahaha! W-What are you talking about, kid? W-What about you mom ahaha-"
"You like her, don't you?" MK asks smugly. "You never take any clothes off during our sparring sessions, not even the smallest piece. Even when someone else is around... You even held back on your dodges to flex! This is the first time I see you trying to impress someone!"
If the ginger-furred simian had been drinking something, he would've either spat it out or choked on it as he tried to nervously laugh it off. "O-Of course not! Wha- W-What makes you say that? That doesn't prove anything! I just... felt like sparring like this today, okay? There's a first time for everything after all!" He tried to justify his actions. MK on the other hand just hummed, still grinning smugly. For anyone else trying to hook up with his mom, he would feel disgusted by it. However, the idea of the Sun Wukong, his mentor, legally becoming his father would be amazing. So, what else is there to do than for him to tease his probably and hopefully future dad? "...I don't like how you're looking at me right now." Wukong commented as MK simply continued to grin at him.
"Just admit it."
"...Admit what, bud?"
"That you like my mom."
"Oh- Ahahaha- Psh, I don't like her. I-I mean I like her, you know? She's nice, she's caring... But, I don't like-like her, y-you know? I-I, uh, just-" The ginger simian stammered nervously.
"Mhm. Sure..." MK's grin didn't fade.
After some awkward staring, Monkey King sighed in defeat. "...Okay fine, maybe... Just maybe I do like her just a tiny smidge more than I should for just meeting her today..."
MK chuckles as he leans against his staff. "So like, do you want me to play matchmaker and set you two up? I could get Mei and Sandy involved too in helping you get her to like you back."
The ginger-furred simian blinks at him in both surprise, confusion and embarrassment. He thought his successor would either just drop the topic or continue teasing him behind your back. Maybe he somewhat expected him to even resent him in a way for liking his mother... He just didn't expect him to willingly want to be a supportive matchmaker.
Monkey King nervously rubbed the back of his neck. "Um... How about without them- I just... don't want this to be a big thing since I just met her...?" That came out as more of a question than a statement. The young Monkie Kid happily looked at his mentor, seeing his answer as a clear-cut confirmation of the Great Sage Equal To Heaven asking him for help.
It didn't take long for a plan to be formed.
From then on, just to have both of you to get to know each other better, MK asked you continuously to come with him to Flower Fruit Mountain everytime him and Monkey King were training... And your son was an annoyingly persistent bean, so you usually were dragged away and over to the Monkey King's lair. Then, after every training session, his mentor would talk to you.
It started off simple, actually. You would usually ask about MK's progress as well as about what kind of trouble he's already gotten himself into while you were gone. Apparently the day you returned, MK and his friends had just defeated some ancient bone demon spirit and Megapolis was still recovering.
But then your topics became a lot more personal with each new conversation. While your conversations once were just about things regarding your son being the successor of the Monkey King, over the course of the next weeks, Monkey King would talk to you more about personal preferences. Soon, most of your conversations became rather personal between you two. And oddly enough, MK never once bothered you two. Which made you a little suspicious because MK would usually pester you about what you were talking about with someone else.
You actually became quite good friends with your son's mentor. And after some more time, Sun Wukong, the legendary Monkey King, the Great Sage Equal To Heaven, asked you out for dinner on Flower Fruit Mountain. You, a mere mortal human, of course were stunned. But also excited to basically go on a date with Sun Wukong himself. Though, it didn't take long for you to figure out that MK was helping out his mentor in hooking you up with him... Just the fact that he was not so secretly asking Wukong about his type right in front of you, to which the Monkey King was responding in a way that was describing you, was evidence enough. It was cute and amusing to see the legendary Monkey King so awkward and flustered that he needed the help of his successor though.
But, your first date was great. You could've sworn MK and Wukong's monkeys were helping him behind the scenes, but they never directly interfered or showed up. Either way, your second date was definitely something Wukong himself set up without MK's or the other monkey's influence, which you appreciated a lot.
However, your monkey boyfriend became a lot more bold in your relationship over time. He turned from awkward and nervous to the horny equivalent of his lip bite meme pictures... Beware of his bad pick-up lines and other advances, because those were the only things that really made MK regret helping him...
"Hey there, beautiful. Are you a peach? Because I want to get a taste of you-"
"Oh my god, Wukong."
"Whaaaat? I just love and a-peach-iate you, babe-"

guys, i saw cinderella’s castle live (i would like to thank the stars for aligning) and my spoiler free review is that
- jeff still knows how to write songs about girlhood
- crumb and sir hop a lot are the sweetest lil guys (i expected them to be in it A LOT more)
- ella/bryce consistently serves cvnt, there’s nothing more for me to tell you
- lauren and mariah DELIVERED, i truly think they were just playing themselves (also, dare i say, the return of bugette?)
- angela changed the way i say “ella”
- BRO THE PUPPETS?????????????? the puppets.
- wherever you think the plot is going, you’re wrong
- you might laugh at james tolbert, you might end up hating him after this, i certainly felt both (james tolbert, or any starkid, if you see this you’re an incredible actor and ur character disgusted me to the point of dry heaving, well done)
- the music is giving if a cis man tried to write chappell roan songs, and that is neither here nor there (jeff blim ily this is not a hate comment)
- the way…the audience…was waiting for sir hop a lot and crumb…will DEFINITELY be a highlight of the recording
- as always, lauren devoured the choreography. she is so smart about how she choreographs. it’s one thing to write a returning motif into a score, it’s another talent entirely to place a returning motif into THE DANCE NUMBERS
- kim whalen is kim whalen, what more do you want or expect me to say
- the set was pretty simple, under the circumstances, but the drops, the lights and false pro were STUNNING
- y’all aren’t ready for ella’s ball gown, seriously
- curt, your fight choreography was hilarious and very well done, you stunner. curt is also just as funny as james’ character, but in a different way…if u get me (i was hoping tadius was in it more!)
- for all of my jeff blim girls, gays and theys…he…there’s something about him in this show and idk what it is, but he’s a fuckin rizzler?? like it’s disgusting and foul how good he was. he was like the main dude in a boy band?? yall will need to get a grip before you watch this because…just…if you’ve seen *the picture* combine it with any backstreet boys and/or nsync music video and use your imagination, that was his performance.
it is with the utmost respect that i say they were all so hot and talented and sickening in this idk what more you want to hear! your honor, i love them!

Tumblr media
Name: Xavier Hayward
Age: 28
Orientation: Polyamorous bisexual (strong preference to women)
Pronouns: They/them -> she/her -> All Others
Gender: A boyfriend who looks like a girlfriend that you had in february of last year (woman-aligned nonbinary)
A dour dark knight, haunted by their past and the path they now have to walk. But beneath that lies a gregarious and social person with a snarky sense of humour and a true love of good conversation, good food, and good drinks.
She'll be the first to admit to being a bit of a hedonist and play(tom)boy, living for the moment (and for their duty to the ones they've vowed to protect). In general Xavier's life has been one tragedy after another, and the fact that she's even still alive is a miracle in and of itself - from being used as the catalyst for a voidsent summoning as a baby (saved only by the power of the Echo) to the tragic loss of her first fiancee to void corruption (the tragedy that originally set them on the path of becoming a Dark Knight), it's safe to say that Xavier really, really, really has a personal grudge against voidsent.
Married to Vanille, but they're both pretty openly polyamorous swingers.
Unsundered name: Dionysus, follower of Azem (Azem in WoL AU)
Carrd - Tag - Aesthetic Tag
Tumblr media
Name: Vanille Hayward nee Brune
Age: 25
Orientation: Demiromantic lesbian
Pronouns: She/her
Gender: Cis woman
A woman who was born into humble beginnings, Vanille worked as a maid in a noble house and became close friends with the daughter of the lord as a child. Her dream was always to become a conjurer, but upon her friend encouraging her to do so, she chose a different path and became a Green Witch instead, embracing both the beauty and horror of nature. Over time, she came to realize her romantic feelings for her childhood friend, and took a leap of faith to pursue them. During her deployment in Garlemald, she suffered an incident involving an exploding warmachina that left her partially deaf in her left ear and suffering minor brain damage, which results in chronic migraines.
Married to Xavier, but they're both pretty openly polyamorous swingers.
Unsundered name: Idunn, an ancient known for creating plant concepts, particularly edible fruit and fungi.
Carrd (WIP) - Tag - Aesthetic Tag
Tumblr media
Name: Lian Aman
Age: 29
Orientation: Lesbian
Pronouns: She/her/Whatever
Gender: Neither a woman, nor a nunh, nor a tia. Something else non-miqo'te can't comprehend. She doesn't mind if other peoples view her as a woman though.
An exile of the Zu tribe of Seekers of the Sun due to her father being a Keeper of the Moon. She lost her mother early in life and almost lost herself to a somnus addiction that she developed as she lived on the streets of Ul'dah, selling sex services to get by day by day. It was after a chance encounter that she travelled to Thavnair in an effort to sober up and make something of herself. Now she's an accomplished bard, dancer, and mother, who makes most of her income selling sexual health potions and toys to bored housewives.
Her and her wife have an open relationship.
Unsundered name: Phryne
Carrd (Reworking) - Tag
Tumblr media
Name: Gwyn Mahina
Age: 30s
Orientation: Lesbian
Pronouns: Doesn't Care (most people just default to she/her)
Gender: Gender is a charming quirk people outside the forest do. It's okay if you see Gwyn as a woman.
Gwyn comes from a reclusive and secretive Keeper of the Moon tribe and went out into wider society in order to hone her skills as a healer and gain new experiences. As a Priestess of Menphina, her day to day involves dealing with love - from counseling couples to have healthier relationships, to playing matchmaker, to more physical pursuits. She believes in spreading love of every type, wherever she finds it.
She does not understand monogamy.
Unsundered name: Freya
Carrd - Tribe Carrd - Tag - Aesthetic Tag
Tumblr media
Name: Phobia
Age: 25
Orientation: Bisexual
Pronouns: She/They -> No others please
Gender: Transfeminine nonbinary
Dionysus, the Ancient, like all other ancients, was split into 14 shards. The shard on the Source is Xavier Hayward. The shard on the ninth, a citizen of Alexandria, is Phobia.
Not much is known about Phobia's childhood, even to her. This is because she lost her parents at a young age, and their memories were stolen from her. With no-one to hold her back, she went on to become a promising fighter in the Arcadion, wielding a Hoarhound (Fenrir) soul. However, after a terrible scandal involving a relationship with a fellow combatant Phobia stepped away from the ring and pursued a career as a hunter, where she was scouted for Oblivion. She then took to the spotlight once again as an Air Wheeler Racer and sports commentary streamer; but more functionally, as Oblivion's propagandist.
Engaged to Serenity; they're both openly polyamorous swingers.

Tumblr media
Name: Serenity
Age: 23
Orientation: Lesbian
Pronouns: She/her (she doesn't really care if people use others though)
Gender: Cis woman
Idunn, the ancient, like all other ancients, was split into 14 shards. The shard on the Source is Vanille Brune; the shard on the ninth, a citizen of Alexandria, is Serenity.
Serenity is, in her opinion, painfully average. Since she was young she loved watching old recordings of nature from before the dome came down and levin destroyed most of the world. As such, she learned a method of imbuing her paintings with aether so that others could experience the natural world. This method, a sort of rudimentary pictomancy that she could potentially develop if she were to ever step outside of Heritage Found, earned her quite a bit of fame in the art world - even being complimented by Queen Sphene herself! Her artistry - combined with her quick wit and satirical sense of humor - earned her quite a following in the technologically-connected world of Solution 9, and she came to be something of an influencer - though she still doesn't quite get why anyone would care about her.
Engaged to Phobia; they're both openly polyamorous swingers.

Lmao anon should be a toxic JM solo who still thinks he's cis het 💀💀💀💀💀
Nah cuz they literally called him ugly n pathetic coz anon it is NOT us who chose artemis while others chose Greek gods, it wasn't us who portrayed him as Artemis is portfolio shoot, it wasn't us who called him 'princess' either it was ALL said by him first. Oh you can call JK also ugly and pathetic because he called Jimin princess and bride ☝🤓
Most of jkkrs here aren't gender queer to project ourselves onto him and genderqueer jkkrs related to him so fucking much. So if he presents himself as non cis and we call him what he likes to be called, what's your problem?
See the problem is even Solos affirm him too because he's who he is and no one can change that.
I had a solo friend years ago, they've moved on from the Fandom, however they would say to me- I never knew bigender symbols exist as a straight person living in the US so how does a man living in conservative Korea know let alone draw these symbols on himself. It always blew their mind the things they discovered through BTS and I'm not jx talking about the philosophy and Carl Jungs.
People will invoke conservative Korea as bases for holding certain narrow minded beliefs about the boys but fail to take into account the peculiarities and odd things and knowledge the average person in Korea wouldn't know of because it's not part of their day to day language.
People used to say, South Koreans don't even know what gay is because it's prohibited and not in their collective consciousness- which is why people use their culture to defend them whenever they make insensitive remarks- which is cool.
But then how do you explain this
Tumblr media
Or the myriad of not so conservative things that they do??? Many westerners learn more about the LGBTQIA's and gender non conformity as well as diverse sexual expressions and identiti3s through Jimin more than they care to admit.
Ugly? They can call their mothers Ugly not Jimin or Jungkook.
For the rest of us we are not models nor do we depend on our looks for a living so it's neither here nor there.

cw: foucault, discussions of underage sex, fandom
happened to read foucault's essay on erotics, and the whole schema of greek pederasty and its complications, concerns, discourses, what have you. it's very interesting and not just bc the greeks hated the power of the prostate.
a lot of the latter part of the essay talks about how the greeks felt, more or less, that even though it was socially acceptable for a man to fuck a boy, the boy couldn't enjoy it, and if he enjoyed it too much and sought it out then his future reputation was at stake/ruined already + the man had to give the boy gifts (financial gifts being frowned upon because they prostituted the boy; gifts of guidance, teaching, and status being more acceptable and desirable) in order to earn his favor in order to fuck him and the boy could neither give in too easily nor hold out for too long. but it wasn't a mutually pleasurable act, it was a given to the older lover when he was considered to have earned it and it was a transient, age-based position; an adult male free citizen who was known to bottom for pleasure was considered shameful and incapable of leading. but it was okay to want boys, to desire beauty, to think of them as attractive, as long as one did not take from them by force or dishonor them.
the interesting thing to me about this is the way it intersects and entwines with modern fandom's notions of gay sex. obviously, fandom loves gay sex and there's no doubt about that. the thing is that in my experience, most fandom these days heavily centers bottoms and bottom subjectivity; to a lesser extent submissive subjectivity. it is ambivalent in most cases about top interiority and entirely uninterested in dominants except as facilitators of pleasure, pain, or catharsis for the sub/bottom.
of course, it's unfair to generalize and many people find their tastes departing from that described here for many reasons. nevertheless, it seems to me to be broadly true that in a group of people broadly motivated by exploring m/m intimacy, there isn't that much about tops: about wanting to top or dom, about love that expresses itself via control, guidance, and mastery over the beloved, about actively seeking out and thrilling in having power over another person. when these things do show up, they're frequently coded as abusive or outright only exist in abusive characters, which makes sense to a degree because these traits can also manifest in abusive ways.
but submissives and bottoms can also be abusive while fully and unequivocally being subs / bottoms, and most people are really uninterested in exploring that. this makes sense; nobody wants to imagine a beloved character as abusive, and very few people identify such types of predation in villainous characters, because villainy is the domain of the controlling, the sadistic, the power-seeking - it is never the domain of the masochist, the one whose power lies in passivity, who can make things happen without asking for them to happen, simply by wanting and providing themselves as an incentive.
and again, yes, associating bottom and submitting w passivity is problematic but works for our purposes because the essay i'm referring to also does the same thing. the link is not a permanent fixture so much as an association that people often lean into and that therefore shows up in the conversation.
all of this is to say that i don't think that fandom, which is dominated by afabs and trans people and rather fewer cis men, is so interested in bottoms as the subject of pleasure.
while the associative link between submitting, bottoming, passivity, and femininity is frequently complicated (queered, even) by these same demographics, and while many members of them have different relationships to these associations, the links persist for a reason; they're extant in society and they preoccupy us sexually. but i do think that there's a reason why the greeks considered bottoming and enjoying the act of bottoming nearly shameful even though cis gay penetrative sexual activity basically necessitates someone bottoming at all times...and i think that that reason is the other side of the coin of why modern queer fandom is broadly disengaged from topping as an enjoyable and desirable activity for their favorite characters even though they would verbally acknowledge that good sex should be mutually pleasurable due to modern sexual ethics.
in both cases, i think it's about shame. the greeks considered bottoming shameful because they thought a lot about honor and status and leadership, and the roles that a free citizen with good qualities could hope to occupy in the governance of the city, and they felt like a man who enjoyed submitting sexually (a man who enjoyed being the object of another's pleasure) could not be trusted to not submit in other senses as well even if the alternative was better for him and for those he had power over. but the sexual ethics of fandom - which is very queer, full of afabs, full of trans people - consider topping shameful because we think about status and leadership and power from the other direction, as inherently untrustworthy and corrupt, and we dislike people who seek out power consciously and cultivate favors in order to gain that power. it's shameful to want too much and take too much, to have control over other people and be comfortable with that, it's shameful to refuse to be vulnerable in the way that bottoming demands vulnerability (because topping, by implication, has no vulnerability attached).
that's one explanation and i don't wholly buy it. my other explanation would be interest: the greeks were concerned with a social life that revolved in no insignificant part around the power they expected to wield as free citizens, and therefore they were very anxious about the maintenance of their own power and they were concerned by the possible loss of power for the young men they desired. fandom, on the other hand, is concerned with an intimate life that centers the emotions and relationships of its characters, and therefore is interested in anything that brings those emotions to the forefront: again, vulnerability and weakness and pain and pleasure.
the third and most simple explanation is that the difference is anatomical: cis men are more likely to think bottoming is shameful because the primary instrument and act of pleasure for them centers around penetration, and being accessory to someone else's pleasure and enjoying it is shameful. women are more likely to think that topping is shameful because their primary acts of pleasure are ones of receiving, and rather than being accessory to someone else's pleasure they inhabit a paradigm where reception is indulgent, decadent, being spoiled and taking without giving. even if you think of topping as giving and bottoming as taking, taking is construed as selfish and giving is construed as generous. so, someone's favorite character bottoming is about that character getting to be selfish.
i don't like this explanation because it resorts to gender essentialism, and i really don't like any of these explanations and i'm dubious about the entire analogy i'm drawing, but hey. my blog, my long meandering posts that make no point at all. if u have thoughts feel free to send me an ask or a dm or something, this topic is very interesting to me.

Another passage from the Cass review that has garnered attention reads as follows: 16.20 For birth-registered females, the impact of testosterone will give a higher sex drive than they might have experienced during their biological puberty, and after one year will result in robust increases in muscle mass and strength (while birth-registered males will maintain their muscle strength) (Wiik et al., 2020). In the absence of any experience as an adult cis-woman, they may have no frame of reference to cause them to regret or detransition, but at the same time they may have had a different outcome without medical intervention and would not have needed to take life-long hormones. [Cass report, p. 195] This seems to suggest that trans male/masculine youth should not take testosterone because, if they do, they will never know what it would have been like to be a cis woman (presented here as the healthier outcome: “without medical intervention”). More crucially, if they do transition sans regret or detransition, well, we can never truly know for sure whether transitioning made their lives substantially better because they don’t have the proper “frame of reference” to assess that (read: because they didn’t turn out cis, we can’t trust anything that they say about themselves). Can you see how twisted this line of thinking is? As bioethicist Florence Ashley responded, “By that logic should we force cis people to take HRT just so they can have a frame of reference for what it’s like to be trans?” Ashley’s comment was obviously intended to illustrate a point, but let’s take their proposal seriously for a moment. What if we administered cross-sex hormones to all adolescents, just to make sure they aren’t trans. If they don’t like the effects, no worries, they can always choose to stop taking these hormones once they’re 18 (when they’re old enough to “know for sure”). After all, many “objective and science-minded” pundits have assured us that there is nothing wrong with forcing trans adolescents into unwanted puberties, so the same probably holds true for cis adolescents, shouldn’t it? And if these kids complain about the effects of this unwanted puberty—discomfort, cognitive dissonance, dysphoria—well, those are subjective feelings and we shouldn’t let them get in the way of science! I’d imagine that this thought experiment generated visceral reactions in many readers (it certainly did for me writing it). Can you imagine the horror of being forced into the wrong puberty? Well, I can. Firsthand. Same goes for most trans people. And if you can relate to how horrific it would be for a cis adolescent to be pushed into a puberty that was abhorrent to them, what’s preventing you from extending those feelings to the trans daughter from the earlier anecdote? Or to the trans boys who Cass seems to think need to experience a cis womanhood in order to acquire a proper “frame of reference”?

At least, Cersei is the one to refuse to go public with their incestous relationship and isn’t out there proposing to marry Myrcella to Tommen, unlike Saint Jaime who call his sister ‘queen of whores’, treat her as his property, and victim-blame her (I tell you, he [Robert] loves me not/And whose fault is that, sweet sister ?), and never spare a thought for Tysha (or Bran for that matter), but thats normal, its because he’s a feminist and teenage girl-coded. No wonder he has some sympathy for Criston Cole, lmao. Do people genuinely believes Jaime is a victim of patriarchy and that his gender doesn’t favor him over Cersei ?? Insane. Can’t wait for him to die. It’s 2023, Jaime isn’t Adam and Cersei isn’t Eve, dude is a misogynistic, racist and hyperprivileged white man and his father’s golden boy. Funny how you all talk like Green/Criston’s stans when it comes to Cersei and Jaime.
*EDITED POST* (9/21/23)
Probably from this recent post that itself has 3 links to other posts where I talk about Cersei as a character.
Um...when did I ever either imply or directly say that Jaime was "a victim of patriarchy and that his gender doesn’t favor him over Cersei"? Or express that he was better than his sister, morally? Or express that Cersei deserved to die more than he did?
Perhaps you have that impression because I never talked about Jaime exclusively once, or you're just going off of what you recently read and horribly misinterpreted the purpose and argument of that post. If the latter, I advise you to reread. If the first, I don't write about Jaime much simply because he doesn't interest me as much as Cersei or Tyrion, no one asked me my thoughts about him, and I'm not thinking of him apart from his relationship with Cersei or Tyrion. His knighthood and masculinity are...not "easy", but direct enough for me to not dwell as much as his other siblings' issues. (look to this post by blankwhiteshield about Jaime) I generally care more about women, children, and other marginalized people in fiction, even when I do sympathize with some white cis straight men some of the time.
I mean pre-Brienne Jaime. That's just how GRRm wrote his arc.
For me, blankwhiteshield's posts about Jaime HERE and HERE both suffice to give me a picture of who Jaime is bc they fill in some blanks I had in my pre-existing assessment of Jaime. Which actually wasn't favorable, anon. I find Jaime to actually be very annoying, and no, I do not think that he is Cersei's victim. He is deluded in some ways as much as her and is not a good person because of the abuse and emotional neglect they all get from Tywin/Westerosi society. I actually should have, since again, there were blanks. You can take a look at those links as well.
Look, Cersei is evil & abusive AS WELL AS a victim of domestic abuse woman & of misogyny since childhood. These are not mutually exclusive nor does it NOT mean that her domestic abuse only and directly caused her power-hungriness and need to control if not every, most aspect of her life and those she sees will help her get or maintain control and a good image of herself. Neither the abuse nor misogyny against her erases the fact that she develops hatred towards women, going so far as to violently and sexually objectify them like w/Taena. (Her using what she's observed men do to affirm power and copying it). Or that she pinched her baby brother's penis at a very young age, showing her classist and blase willingness to target children/one of the most vulnerable groups for her own sense of control over her husband, family, etc., and political power. She is also very willing to sacrifice/risk the entire city for her own control of power, similar to Aerys II. Cersei is complicated and there is nuance to her character, but she is unmistakably evil simultaneously. What I like about her or what I find compelling about her (if you haven't read the post about it) is that I can understand her motivations, and relate in some ways, and from practically babyhood she's been trying to be essentially "good enough" and perfect through external, social values of competency BUT also as someone has said: her need for perfection and power and total love comes across as pure in its own sort of twisted way. Her emotions are so intense and uncontrolled and she remains totally unaware of her loneliness that she comes across as childlike.
I also find it very funny how you're criticizing show!Rhaenyra for wanting to marry Jace to Helaena (I presume, you don't specify but that is the closest betrothal to the one you make b/t Myrcella and Tommen) when you say: "At least, Cersei is the one to refuse to go public with their incestous relationship and isn’t out there proposing to marry Myrcella to Tommen". Because while this would have done nothing to assuage Alicent--which was what Rhaenyra was trying to do--it was also not that bad of a deal for Helaena or Jace themselves. I personally dislike it bc, again, we're erasing Rhaenyra's relationship w/Laena and how she ever made it so that Jace married Laena's daughter...but I digress. OR you probably were referring to Jaime expressing the desire to go public with their relationship, that conversation? Again, what does this have to do with my argument in the post I recently posted and that I assume you're responding to?

---- CHILDHOOD , all i know is you said hello and your eyes look like comin' home .
His is the story of the scorpion and the frog.
There was no love in the Snape household, neither was there warmth. Often enough, there was barely sound, only soft inhales from Eileen Prince’s lonely bedroom, — she never quite got used to her husband’s last name, carrying with herself the prestige of the Prince bloodline —, long parted from the sheer moments of honeymoon glory. Sometimes, if Severus was lucky enough, he’d hear the sound of his father’s keys turning on the door, only for it to be taken away in a matter of seconds, a new business trip waiting for the muggle salesman. It was a cliche, really. A saddened housewife and an unhappy traveling salesman, a love-story straight from the all-British muggle books.
Happiness was fleeting. And then it was not. With red, oh so lovely red, consuming the afternoons the young boy spent alone in the meadow. Lily bloody Evans, his best friend, his first love, the personification of laughter. And goodness. And warmth. She was everything he wasn’t, and everything he longed to be. In their few, stolen moments, there was no blood purity. There was only a boy. And a girl. And so much magic between them.
---- SCHOOL YEARS , i get mean when i'm nervous like a bad dog .
The dungeons were almost home. They were just as cold, just as unlived in, but they were loud. They lacked the meadow, — and in consequence they lacked his best friend’s blooming smiles —, but they were filled with ideals. They boomed in the winter and were awfully quiet with the arrival of the last month of school. Severus was lonely, and he was misguided. And, well, he was the perfect recipient to whatever nonsense other snakes were willing to sing in his ears.
And, Saint Merlin, he was so incredibly envious. The others had it all, had they not? Barty had the wealth, Regulus had the name, but Severus? He had the anger. He had excellent penmanship. He had a brain that refused to stop. He even had the means to respond to those idiotic pranks without ever tarnishing his own name. Who’d think the prince of potions would ever turn every Gryffindor tie into a snake? They weren’t even poisonous.
What he did not have, however, was Lily. No, that was propriety of the Gryffindors. Of the people who had loving parents, wealth, a future in the wizard world. She wouldn’t, couldn't choose him, and he had no choice but to help her discover that. He was cruel, and sometimes he was be downright evil. Because if not him, who? Who’d show those foolish lions what waited for them the second they’d step outside from the bounds of Hogwarts?
He did what he felt needed to be done, no matter how terrible it could be. There was no regret, no moment of sudden realization of how the mark in his arm would change everything for everyone. He wanted the wealth, he wanted the name. Sometimes he even wanted the fame.
---- CURRENT DAYS , cause cruelty lives in the movies .
It was clear something had changed inside of him. From the little boy who longed for connection to a man who destroyed everything he got his hands on. Although loyal, it became known Snape was inconsequential, brutal, and always a little too eager to fulfill a plan in the Dark Lord’s name.
When it comes to his work, however, Snape is known to be a man of equal opportunity. No matter your affiliation, if you have enough money (and courage) to look for his help, he’ll provide you with a top-notch solution for your afflictions. Not even Severus himself understands why he does that, why he’s so willing to put poison in the hands of members of the Order. Maybe he’ll never know.

my d20 fantasy high bad kids lgbt head canons for pride month
if you don't agree i literally do not give a shit because they're my head canons bby!!
I will provide definitions at the bottom for the lesser-known terms in case there's something people r unfamiliar with and to provide clarity
Gorgug (my favorite character):
Pronouns he/him; gender wise he's cis but like, in a non gender conforming way (someone said "boy but gently" and I think that's 100% accurate). personally, I head canon him to be biromantic aro, sex-favorable ace. (every month of the year!)
Fig:
Pronouns she/they/fae, but if you use others she won't care. genderfluid, if you try to gender them one way they will say fuck that and "correct" you just to make you sweat lol. (I think that might be called genderfuck actually) biromantic and bisexual!!
Riz:
Pronouns he/him, cis male, but make it dapper. romance-neutral and sex-repulsed aroace.
Adaine:
Pronouns they/she in high school, but as they get older eventually just use they/them. Non-binary but they got school so they aren't worried about that rn. romance positive, sex-repulsed aroace. They experience alterous and platonic attraction!!
Fabian Aramais Seacaster (I had to put his whole name lol):
Pronouns he/him, Bigender/genderflux, mostly masc presenting but sometimes he likes to step outside gender norms and just do whatever the fuck he wants and i think that's beautiful. Biromantic and bisexual as well. (+Achillean)
Kristin:
Pronouns she/they, female of center non-binary. Butch lesbian!
terms:
sex-favorable: someone who may engage in sexual activity even if they do not have any desire for sexual activity, for example to please a partner.
genderfuck: changing up gender norms/roles to say "fuck you!" to the statis quo
alterous attraction: a type of attraction that is neither entirely platonic nor entirely romantic, best described as desiring an emotional closeness with somebody.
achillean: men/men-aligned love men/men-aligned
female of center: people who identify with a feminine gender expression; whether or not they were afab or consider themselves a woman.
i did copy paste some of the terms and i got them from here.

Hey, just asking a question I'd been wanting to ask but kinda scared to until I saw you posted something similarish....I'm not trying to be an asshole btw I'm genuinely wondering. If gender isn't binary then what's the point of being a girl or a boy? I mean if being a boy isn't about being masculine and doing masculine things and having the body of a cis guy then what does being a boy even mean? I'm not trying to ridicule anyone or something....I'm not a trasphobe either I'm just confused. Like being a tomboy us just being a girl who's a bit masculine same as being a fem boy is being a boy who's feminine...but then if being trans isn't about the body or these binary things then what is it about? I hope I didn't make you uncomfortable...I'm just really questioning. I have a trans friend and I understand them but most of the things they associate with being trans is binary. I didn't ask them cause I didn't want to come across as an asshole
i wrote like a hundred word essay and then realized you probably wouldn't actually read it because oh my god it was boring.
basically it's based on your brain. a lot of people's brains don't fit into either "male" or "female" categories and that's what nonbinary people come from. there's been studies where trans women are shown to have brains closer to cis women than cis men (x)
as for your question of what determines a gender if gender expression and biological sex don't- it's entirely up to the person. some butch lesbians find that their upbringing as a woman is so engrained in them that they cannot see themselves as a man, regardless of how masculine they are. my friend from school decided she was a girl because she thought she'd look good with boobs. maybe these people really are nonbinary. maybe not.
there's no way to one hundred percent say that not everyone is nonbinary. it's very possible there really is no such thing as man or woman. but, for me personally, i don't like the label nonbinary, nor do i like the label woman very much. so im a man.
tl;dr, it's based on your brain and personal preference. it's unlikely that anyone is one hundred percent binary, but that's neither here nor there.

Happy Hikago Day!
I'm so happy I made it! This is the perfect time for this declaration.
It's finished!
Finally. The last chapter of Caught Between was just published, and the story is complete at 185 874 words.
It's been quite a ride. I can't anymore find the exact date when I started working on this fic, but it was some time in the late summer of 2013. It's been nearly 11 years, in other words.
It was in June 2013 when I started reading a manga called IS: otoko demo onna demo nai sei (literally translated: neither male nor female gender) (@flunnebunne, I got to tag you here cause I'm pretty sure you were the one to rec it to me.) That manga was where I got the inspiration for the fic – to be honest, I doubt I'd even heard of intersex before.
It took me really long to start publishing it. That date AO3 graciously provides us: the first chapter was posted 2021-04-21. So, it seems it still took me 3 years after that. (Tbh, I can't believe the last chapter took me a year to get out. >_>) Anyway, back when I started publishing this, I already had about 150k of the story written. The main reason I hadn't published it yet was because I was sort of worried, as a cis person, if I could handle a topic like this correctly (so to say). Also, I did not want to commit myself to a long fic before I was sure I'd be able to finish it some day. (Heh. I didn't really think it'd take me 3 years to get it finished at that point...)
Anyway, here it is! I think I should call this my main work, at the moment. The story of Sai in the modern world, as a real boy(?), not a ghost.

I have a question that is weird even by the standards of otherkin but I trust in your thoroughly demonstrated abilities to think things through and reason when those of us closer to a situation cannot, so. My apologies, wall of text incoming.
So, my source creator thought it would be funny to make me exactly like himself visually simply because he thought that made our opposite personalities, political ideologies, life goals, fashion senses and family backgrounds extra funny. If I pull up a picture of him, I see my exact face looking back. Even the freckles are where they should be. It is absolutely wild. I can't actually put it into words accurately. That is my face. That man is not me. I am 100% not him, he wrote a life for me that is the inverse of his and I remember that life very clearly. But his face is my face.
I'm thinking of making a kin blog, and my go-to instinct is to use a picture of him since he cosplayed as me one Halloween and there are both pics and videos. It's a go-to instinct because his face is my face. I am not him. He is not me. We're both aware of that. I wouldn't be factkin or pretending to be him or roleplaying, because I don't remember his childhood split between Turkey and the US with a loving family, I remember a childhood spent miserable in Atlanta with a very unloving family. I don't remember being comfortable in my sexuality and straight, I remember being gay and deeply closeted. Etc, etc. I could list a hundred examples here. All we have in common is a face, being cis men and being Turkish (in my last life, I am neither cis nor Turkish now).
But if someone doesn't know my canon - and it's very, very likely that they do not know the AU version of himself he's dropped lore for over the course of a three year streaming career - then it looks like I'm using the face of a famous streamer for my own. That looks like factkin. I am not, in any way, factkin. We have a face and a gender in common at most. If you're not aware of his ongoing AU story of his mirror universe counterpart, though... if I have my icon be his face, are people going to think I'm factkin? Are they going to think I'm a troll? Will people avoid me?
I mean, I know a lot of people are going to think that I'm a troll when they read "Hank Pecker, the mirrorverse AU of Hasan Piker" already so I'm not exactly full of hope for my chances of ever being taken seriously. I'm probably going to end up with no one to talk to because that statement is, frankly, ridiculous. I'm aware of that. I've also run out of stamina to keep denying this after two years, so. The account is definitely getting made. Will an icon of his/my face make people more likely to view me as a troll or factkin? Should I not do that?
Sorry for the wall of text. I just have a lot of thoughts and I'm kind of nervous. I know why people will laugh at me claiming to be spiritual 'kin, I know it's valid, but ho boy, I am not looking forward to it.
I totally get why you're nervous; this is kind of a tangled-up situation! You got a weird one on your hands, for sure.
So, I want to start a little to the left of your question and point out: you're currently basing this decision seemingly entirely on whether or not it's going to make other people take you seriously. This is, generally speaking, not something I would advise allowing to dictate the way you present yourself, outside of a context such as professional setting where it's going to have a major impact on your life and is kind of necessary to prioritize. It's certainly something you can take into account, but if you let other people's opinions dominate your presentation of yourself, that's a very good way to set yourself up for living in anxiety, stress, and dissatisfaction long-term. You're never going to be able to make everyone happy.
So, my answer's mostly not based on that. To directly answer the question, yeah, it probably will make people misread you as factkin at first glance, if they're familiar with the person; if they're not, they'll probably just think you're using your own IRL face.
...That being said, my actual advice is: probably don't, but not for that reason. Rather, for the reason that using a portrait photo of another person as an identifier for yourself is... generally poor etiquette regardless of the context, at least in my opinion. It's less a "people won't take you seriously" thing and more a "liable to look like you're actually trying to impersonate him" thing, as well as a "using someone's face as your identifier online implies it belongs to you" thing, if that makes sense. (Forgive me if it doesn't; I'm struggling to articulate this one a little bit.)
With that said: this is just my opinion, and it being in cosplay does blur the lines on that a bit more. I don't think there's a solid right/wrong answer on this one; it's just gonna have to come down to your best judgement. Some people are for sure gonna be uncomfortable with it if you go through with this; it's kind of up to you to decide whether you think that's justified and/or a good enough reason to stick to art or other representations. (Art of the character might be a good compromise, if you're looking for one, since that divorces it from your this-world counterpart a bit more.)
...Hopefully that helps at least some; sorry I can't give a more solid answer on this one.

u not a lesbian tho ur bisexual
Okay so let me clear this up not even for the benefit of anon but for my mutuals who don’t know me irl and may get the wrong impression from it.
what i meant to say in those tags is that the reason i still feel comfortable going to women’s places in my current state of existence is that 1) lesbianism AND womanhood both come in many diverse flavors of gender experiences so to speak 2) ERGO even lesbians who are straight up cis women can and will be attracted to people with various kinds of gender experiences, both “internally” so to speak (‘identity’) and “externally” (various configurations of genitals, breasts or lack thereof, body hair, presentation, etcetc.) this isn’t the case for ALL obviously but its certainly the case for some. Like I personally know lesbians who know about my gender situation and would still fuck me lol im not even being prescriptive rn as you point out i am NOT a lesbian and its not up to me to say what they should or shouldnt do. Im literally describing reality. 3) as i exist right now, i am a person with breasts, a pussy, and a relatively feminine face (though invisalign is doing wonders on my jawline, werk!). To say that no lesbian who sees me in a bar dancing could possibly be attracted to the person they see is genuinely so far out of the bounds of reality it boggles the mind. Also this is neither here nor there but i don’t exactly consider myself a “man”, like I would never want to fill the social role of ‘man’ the way a cis man does. That’s why i call myself transmasc but not a trans man. If id been born with a penis and assigned male at birth and raised a boy etcetc, i would STILL want to socially and/or medically transition bc I simply dont see myself as a genuine 100% man the way i dont see myself as a woman.
If i ever do manage to get hrt and I acquire more masculine characteristics etc the situation will be different, like I wouldnt feel as comfortable going to spaces for women. Also I should specify that the bar i went to today does not call itself a “lesbian bar”, it is a bar for queer women of any sexuality (and their friends and allies of other genders). Not every single person in there was a woman, and not every single woman was a lesbian. Statistically in fact many of them were probably bisexual, and honestly assuming otherwise is lowkey pretty biphobic lol
lastly, i also want to specify that, even if im pre-transition and i look for all intents and purposes like a cis woman (something that makes my life hell in many generic lgbt places, where the general misogynistic and boys-club vibe makes it so gay dudes will tolerate me at best and assume im a ‘fag hag’) i still would never have sex with a lesbian without clarifying my gender situation to them first. I simply would not feel comfortable with that in fact the thought makes me pretty nauseous. But at the same time 1) i know (again, for a fact) there are plenty of people who use the label of lesbian who WOULD fuck me even after knowing and 2) i dont think grinding a little on a stranger in a bar you saw from a cross the room and found really hot, or even having a short dancefloor makeout with them, is anywhere on the same level.

Top 5 favorite kpop MVs with queer vibes that aren't obviously queer (challenge mode: no repeated groups or artists)
i'm mostly talking about gender here and gender is a really difficult thing to talk about. i tried my best to put what i feel into words and i hope it turned out somewhat coherent. please just be nice
the order is probably based on how excited i was to talk about each MV
1. mamamoo+ - GGBB
so the whole concept of 'good girl/bad boy' is very familiar to everybody, it's something straight out of romcoms and jokes about relationships. it's also usually very straight and cis. but the way solar and moonbyul visually present this song gives it a twist. moonbyul isn't dressed in what would be considered strictly menswear but her clothes are still more masculine looking than solar's, same goes for their choreography moves, and the whole contrast is supported by the backup dancers. solar and moonbyul aren't really playing a girl and a boy but rather playing out the dynamic between the characters of 'the girl' and 'the boy'. which is a romantic and heavily gendered dynamic. they're performing femininity and masculinity both while still being clearly themselves and it's really pushing the idea of gender expression being a performance rather than something intrinsic to the person, something fixed and having only one meaning. they're just performing this traditionally very cishet thing in such a queer way and i love it so much
2. i-dle - TOMBOY
this one is kind if an opposite of GGBB. so there's this part in the song that goes 'it's neither man nor woman' and the choreography during this part is them flexing their arms. the lyrics and the choreography and honestly the rest of the song, too, combined create this caricature of gender non-conformity which weirdly still feels reaffirming. kinda like 'queencard' is a caricature of confidence which actually does boost your confidence. so this song feels like it's fucking with gender in a similar way to how GGBB does but instead of deconstructing familiar it constructs unfamiliar, if that makes sense. i personally get goosebumps every time this part comes up and i don't care how far-fetched this explanation might sound, it feels very real to me
3. irene & seulgi - monster
this one is pretty obvious. i don't think that 'it's a metaphor' argument is very convincing because if something queer is used as a metaphor it's still queer. it's a particularly bad problem with sapphic representation because people are so willing to reduce sapphic relationships to an accessory and a tool to get your point across instead of actually taking them seriously, but all kinds of queer representation do suffer from this. half of straight relationships in MVs are a metaphor for something but nobody assumes those characters are actually gay
4. bts - blood sweat & tears
i don't have anything specific to say about this one but the vibes are very queer in my opinion
5. dreamcatcher - bonvoyage
that one scene with siyeon and sua made me yearn for sapphic sci-fi so i think it does belong on this list :3

Pride Headcanons!!
Jim: extremely very certain he's gay, 100%. getting crushed under mountains of internalized homophobia that presents in wild ways, and also sitting on top of being bigoted to the whole entire rest of the community this man is a piece of shit--
Thew: she's in the "probably bi, might be a lesbian" category. she's gone on dates with men, she's gone on dates with women. she only has one proper ex which is a woman. she's not 100% sure what her sexuality is but kinda just lets things happen and doesn't worry about it too much
Min-Jee: 100% knows she's bi, 100% knows she's trans. she's known both since she was very young and kept her mouth shut to all but her closest friends about both until she felt she was in a safe and stable enough place to come out publicly
Porter: hey, he's literally just sitting. just chilling. he does not even have the desire to look for a label. he likes people. he sleeps around with all genders. he feels fine with he/him pronouns, but also feels fine when other pronouns are used. vibes only
Sanjit: he only feels romantic attraction to men, or the closest of what he feels that could be considered romantic attraction is only to men. he's also like, neither cis nor trans. his species dont really have a concept of gender but he did actively chose to be a man when making his human form, and now would be uncomfortable if he got misgendered in either form
Riah: genderfluid, bisexual, actively identifies confidently as both although doesn't talk about either unless directly asked. she has a preference for men, though, when it comes to hookups. she is very, VERY slow to and honestly just unlikely to develop romantic feelings for someone, but when she does its equally likely to be for a man or a woman or nonbinary
Bruce: gay! he also knew from very young that he was gay, and he was one of the "there's a lot of signs here that stereotypically point to a child being gay..." types. he never officially really came out, because he just went on dates with men and those who hadn't already assumed he was gay got the hint then
Noa: queer of some kind. she sometimes gets stressed about finding a more specific label but isn't always the best at telling what she's feeling, and also she's kinda a bit too busy for romance anyway which makes it harder. honestly she has a freakout about what her sexuality is every year like clockwork
Eun Yoo: she thinks she's straight and she's never really considered otherwise because pretty much everyone she's been close with has been straight and all the characters in the shows she watched or comics she read or games she played were straight and she's gotten crushes on boys before. it is totally normal to be a little in love with female friends, anyway. like, if you were a man, obviously you'd confess to them immediately and settle down together and get married and have a beautiful family but she's a woman so she doesn't ask out women so she's straight. (she's bi. she hasn't worked that out yet)
Thespian: thespian does not understand human conceptualizations of either sexuality or gender. thespian has a fringe angel sexuality and a normal angel gender. aka, thespian likes more than just those who it is appropriate to like (can develop feelings for people in different societal status than them), and their gender is mostly neutral but slightly feminine because they are the eldest (more on that here if u wanna know more)
