CALLING ALL MONSTER HIGH FANS. I JUST MET GARRETT. AND I WAS ABLE TO SCAVENGE SO MUCH LORE AND CONFIRMED HEADCANONS TO YOU. THIS IS ALL SAID BY GARRET OR CONFIRMED. I HAVE SPOKEN TO GOD AND HE HAS SPOKEN BACK
#1. Robecca and Venus were implied and ARE dating!!! He said it was like. Just like other monsters they had tried putting hints and characteristics into monsters that we could see and relate too. (He also said it outright down here. Lol I got all the proof guys!)
2. They never actually came up with Jane Boolittles Origins. And yes Dr. Morou and Dr. Boolittle raised her. But it was always a thing to them they'd say ‘oh well get back to this’. And then they never did. When asked; he genuinely doesn’t remember what they had planned for her.
3. a REALLY big mystery solved and lore dump guys. This one’s juicy. I KNOW HOW SPECTRA DIED. I KNOW HOW SHE DIED. AND WHAT THE TRAUMATIC STORY WAS FOR HER. I ACTUALLY FUCKING KNOW! Y’all ready? Drumroll…. It was, a, CAR CRASH! Yes you heard me. THE VONDERGEIST FAMILY ALL DIED IN A CAR CRASH. I think he said he she just came with her family off skirts and they got into an accident. I’ll reblog this with the video of him saying it!
4. Toralei lives in a monster high housing/boarding building when she is not attending school. This place is used for kids who do not have a place to go too, or if their home is too far to return to easily. I think there was an error somewhere where she mentioned parents? I mentioned that to him and he was very confused/didn’t remember. Reconfirmed that if she wasn’t in the monster high housing area. She would have been in either Jail or The streets.
5. Robecca was not rebuilt for 100 years due to Misogyny. Also because it had to go into the lines of her ‘mysteriously’ disappearing for her to have her comeback. I asked about how it was low key such a dark story, and he mentioned that since technically Monster high was the ‘horror’ genre. He was able to get away with things like that.
6. the Vampire Heart mystery! So remember how in Friday night frights we all see Ghoulia place a Robot Heart into Robeccas chest. Something that is very clearly not the Vampires heart? But then suddenly in Frights camera action it’s there? Well, technically that’s an official Error by the crew. He actually said he noticed it, and told management and stuff like ‘won’t people notice it?’ And they were all like ‘nah it will be fine no one will notice’. But then we all clearly did lol. He also said that because if this, he came up with the idea that the Vampires heart was ENCASED in the Robot heart we saw in Friday night frights. Ergo, explaining how Robecca had two hearts in one body! (It’s also confirmed Hexiciah placed the Vampires heart into her while he was building her. Which would explain why she didn’t remember it was their).
#7. Gooliope Jellingtons Origins. I asked what her origins were. And basically, she DOES NOT have any parents. She was CREATED IN A LAB. Which apparently didn’t treat her right. So she ESCAPED the lab and ran away to the circus! (Or blobbed away?) because he also confirmed, she was the blob. Or based off the blob. She wasn’t actually like. The daughter of the blob. She WAS the blob itself.
#8. Kiyomi Haunterly is Gay! I know this is was already somewhat canon and said before. But I asked and he confirmed it that she was in fact, Gay. And he tried to show it in her diary.
#9. We’re reaching some only implied/supported things. Not fully confirmed or intended. But Kala Mer’ri has BPD. I asked about if she has anything like BPD cause I relate and saw that a lot in her. He replied that he did try to make attributes for each Character specifically so we could related to them like that. And that it was to also make sure every character wasn’t a carbon copy of another. Basically. He didn’t like. Outright say ‘yes. She has bpd’. But he also didn’t disprove it. And he reacted positively to the idea and supported it.
#10. Robecca Steam has ADHD. It’s basically the same as above. Although he did like the note that I (someone with adhd) specifically had the same traits with Robecca, even more specifically, that we both are ALWAYS late. And can never keep track of time to save our unlife.
11. Dedyet DeNile Origins. He actually completely forgot about Cleo’s Mother eventually being reunited. I had asked how she had ended up in that same weird time loop Tomb thag Hexiciah was stuck in. (Which they were eventually freed by Robecca in her SDCC diary). He said he completely forgot about that. And genuinely didn’t remember anything about it. I basically re-explained the whole thing and he was very interested. Unfortunately. Not to much origins to go on.
11. here’s a canon one! What happened to Aamanita Nightshade after she left the DeNiles in the tomb. It was kinda funny, but he basically was like ‘Amanita went up and was just like ‘Peace!’’ And then never came back.’ She goofed around a bit, buuut it wasn’t entirely like her fault? She quickly went back to sleep after breaching the surface. So yeah. She was not awake for long. She quickly went back into flower mode until she woke up again at the Gloom and Bloom party.
12. He’s working on another one of his Monster prints! He sells them on his online shop here
He’s currently working on Toralei!!!!! He said he was working on her on the way over. And that he was trying to go in Order of the G1 doll releases. He mentioned he had only done Skelita out of Order because she was like ‘that one’ who was INSANELY popular with fans when she came out. Especially in Mexico. It’s also why she was the only Funko pop made who was not part of the main ghouls.
13. Random. But he actually didn’t create each backstory individually by himself. In the beginning he did A LOT. Like Frankie was the first backstory he ever created. And it got more help and divided as more and more characters were introduced.
14. he has read every single diary for every monster. Cool little fact cause DAMN theirs a whole bunch of them.
15. everything in the Ghoulfriends book series is CANON in the monster verse.
And that is ALL FOLKS! I had held those questions in for about 7-8 years. So it was everything to me to have them answered and confirmed! I really tried to ask everything that was a huge mystery to us monster folks. And I hope you guys are excited to see all these new CANON facts!!!
I’m sorry if this is not everything. Just like Robecca. I forget stuff pretty easily. I’m wracking my brain for every little detail. Unfortunately my father didn’t record as much as I would have liked. But he did get some perfect key moments! And I’ll make sure to reblog with those moments as proof of confirmation!
I love y’all! Make sure this goes viral so every monster high fan gets to hear the news!
Signing out, I’m Tumblr Spectra Vondergeist, and I report the news.

Good Omens NYCC panel recap
   - Guests: Neil Gaiman, Douglas Mackinnon, Rob Wilkins, Maggie Service, Nina Sosanya and Guelin Sepulveda, it is said that Michael Sheen will join at the end over Zoom.
About Season 1
- What do they miss most when S1 wrapped and before S2:
Douglas: All the cast and all the crew. We were very big and cuddly family.
Neil: Yeah.
Rob: David Tennant and Michael Sheen.
Nina: Missing the mentioned family and being part of the nuns sisterhood.
- At the beginning they shared several bts stories from season 1 and the book:
First day of shooting in the bookshop was cancelled because of the blizzard and the second day they were foreced to shoot interiors because outside there were people with flamethrowers trying to melt what was there. So they build the set of Soho 2 inside.
Rob kept a lot of the vehicles from S1 and S2, all the motorbikes, the cars, and now I have topped it with Crowley’s Bentley.
A lot of nuns including Maggie had warts, but Nina didn’t want one.
Neil about Nina’s audition (read more here).
That both Michael and David both independently suggested that he might like to write a Good Omens stage play so they may swap roles each night.
About Michael originally being Crowley (more here and here).
About Terry and Neil being Aziraphale and Crowley - Neil: In the creation of Crowley Terry took the things that I did that he thought were hilarious, like wearing sunglasses indoors when I didn’t need to. He put a lot of me into Crowley but then we both put a lot of ourselves into both of them. (here, also this).
Michael Sheen is amazing mimic, Neil recalls that during one of the final scenes he had producer headphones on, the guys were acting and sitting on the bench and all of the sudden David Tennant started saying awful things about Michael Sheen, just, you know, there’s Crowley and Aziraphale talking and Crowley is saying all this stuff about how Aziraphale is fat Michael can’t act and all the stuff and I’m like ‘Whaat?! David is the nicest man in the world...’ and then the penny drops and it’s Michael sitting there doing pitch perfect as Crowley.
About Season 2
Tumblr media
- What was like for Quelin to join the show:
She was a fan. The very first day was a bit like out of body experience, there was a scene where she interacted with David and Michael. So it was like, ‘Concentrate, Quelin, concentrate! It’s okay, it’s okay!’ And it was just overwhelming in the best of ways, honestly.
She plays angel Muriel. When Neil and John Finnemore talked about season 2, they realized that they didn't have another nice, well-meaning angels except for Aziraphale in Heaven, all they had were bastards, all awfull, so they thought ‘Let’s have a nice one’ and so they created angel Muriel, curious, gullible, well-meaning and chatty angel that spent 6000 filing in the same office in Heaven hoping that somebody would come in and the day would get more interesting and it doesn’t.
She’s a 37th order scrivener, bottom of the pily, it’s her first time to Earth.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
- They felt Terry’s presence also during filming S2.
- Douglas said that they started doing the ADR post production and that the difference between David and Michael is that David looks at the monitor and whatches what he’s done and Michael never watch, so now Michael saw himself for the first time and he was like a fan doing, ‘Oh look we’re back! And there’s Aziraphale!’.
- Neil about Maggie and Nina returning:
It was a thing where one of the things I was very very certain before I started writing season 2 that there were two characters in it and I wanted them to be played by Maggie and Nina, so in order to make it clear to everybody reading the script, that they were going to be played by Maggie and Nina, I called the characters Maggie and Nina. Maggie and Nina liked being Maggie and Nina so the names stayed.
Douglas joked that he thought that a bit lazy not to think up new names and it was hell on set. Later he jokes that since Muriel is an actual angel name, that Neil didn’t make that one either.
Maggie runs a record shop which is beside Aziraphale’s bookshop in Soho, Mr. Fell is her landlord, shop passed through the generations. Her shop looks across shop where Nina works.
Tumblr media
Nina works in the independent coffeeshop Give Me Coffe or Give Me Death, she is good with dealing with people in Soho who come in, not afraid of dealing with them. Wears great cardigans. Her character is quite grumpy. There is a scene where at the start her love life is doomed and she is getting passive-agressive texts for Lindsay - Neil says writing the texts was some of the most fun they had  - maybe there will be a hope for her love life.
Tumblr media
- About more characters:
Neil didn’t want to lose people because they are such a family and wanted Miranda Richardson back but Madame Tracy’s story had really finished and couldn’t think of more for here and her story had ended so beautifully so he wrote a new part for Miranda - she plays Shax, demon that was sent on Earth as the replacement of sacked Crowley.
Tumblr media
Anna Maxwell Martin couldn’t make the filming (was in two shows and a stage play when they needed her), so Beelzebub is played by Shelley Conn. She demanded a lot more flies.
Tumblr media
Donna Preston plays Mrs. Sandwich, and We’we never quite sure about Mrs. Sandwich’s profession but she’s definitely in Soho.
-When Neil started writing S2:
In August 2019 he told Amazon and BBC at fancy breakfast, ‘This is the plot.’, and they said, ‘Oh, we like that plot.’
In December he and John Finnemore got together and Neil told him the plot and he said, ‘That is a good plot, but how does it end’ Neil said that he doesn’t have ends until he gets there but John needed one so Neil said, ‘How about this?’ and told him the end and John said, ‘That’s a good end.’ And that is the end we’ve got.
He started writing it in the middle of the pandemic Summer 2020, writing with pencil to his notebook the first scene which is the first scene.
- Neil what will S2 be about:
Six episodes, each about 45 minutes.
There are some love stories in it.
We will learn a lot about Jane Austen we didn’t know before.
There is a lot more Heaven, a lot more Hell.
- What could be more eras for Aziraphale and Crowley
Douglas: 19th century Scotland, Neil: Edinburgh perhaps around 1827?, Douglas: That would be good, can you write that?, Neil: Oddly enough, episode 3 will take us to a little stint of body snatching in the era. For me it would be like 1941 and we’d go back to those Nazis. Douglas: That would be good and what about something biblical as well, could we do something? Neil: Bible’s good. Yeah back to biblical times, that would be really fun, we could do one of those in episode 2. (they are obviously talking about minisodes :))
- There was a clip from the show but only sound for those watching the stream.
Listen here.
Description from twitter ‘Crowley rushes into the bookshop holding plants and it’s so cute’.
This pic should be from it :)
Tumblr media
- Season 2 Release Date: Summer 2023
- At the end on the zoom dropped not on Michael but also David and Jon Hamm! :)
Watch here :), their banter was written by Neil, Staged-style.
Michael and David found out that there’s going to be S2 probably at the same time from Neil. There was always sort of hope after the end of S1 that there might be more story to tell. Jon found out about it from Neil during press for S1 as potentiality and then during covid Neil said an idea to Jon that we would start by walking down the street in Soho completely nude and he send me the beggining of the scene where Gabriel does not recogni- and the rest is deliberately cut with ‘Lost connection’, to the nude part Neil said, I knew that if he said yes to that he’d say yes to anything and then he says it is not actually there.

The elevator dinged, and your heart raced. It was dark out, and so the lobby was dimmed — that blue hue that came right before the sun’s rising. After peeking a small look to the side, you quickly went back to the newspaper you were reading, as if you hadn’t noticed the sound at all. Though you didn’t need to hear or see to know who it was. No one else in Sama Place got up this early, except perhaps for you. It was you and Francis Mosses, every day alone at five in the morning. Perfect, wasn’t it?
“Mornin’,” he said, tipping his hat slightly. It was white, with the words “MILKMAN” etched onto the front. If anything, that added detail made him look even more handsome — uniformed, well-put-together, with just a hint of authority. Everything you liked.
“Good morning, Francis,” you greeted, resting your elbows on the desk in front of you. Placing the newspaper aside, you focused your attention on him, but when he approached you, he took it between his fingers and flipped to the page you were at.
“Crossword? It’s a bit early for that,” he mused, eyeing all the columns and rows you filled in. It was a hard one, but nothing you couldn’t handle. Besides, what else were you supposed to do, stare at the wall waiting to say ‘hi’ to the next person who came by?
“I like puzzles, they get me thinking . . . you know, you should do something like this, too.” Francis furrowed his eyebrows, just slightly. “Not puzzles, necessarily. But a hobby.”
It just occurred to you at this very moment that he probably did have a hobby, but as someone who was just a doorwoman, you weren't privy to that information.
“I’m sure you do,” you added with a chuckle. “It’s only that I never see you doing anything but work. You’re so tired all the time. How much effort does being a milkman really require?”
He bit his lower lip. “More than you think. I used to get up at one.”
The idea that whatever company he was working for forced him to do this made you upset. Francis deserved nothing but freedom and long vacations and waking up to brunch, not whatever coffee he drank in the morning to get himself going.
“One?” you repeated, absolutely stunned. “Well, I’m glad you managed to change your shift. Most bosses I know aren’t flexible with that sort of stuff.”
“I was actually doing fine with my original hours. I just changed them because . . .”
“Because what?”
He thought for a moment, his cheeks dusted pink. “Wanted to enjoy the world a little. Can’t very well do that if you have to sleep at seven in the afternoon.” He paused. “I have to go, I’ll see you later tonight, ma’am.”
“Alright. Have a nice day, sir.”
You watched as he left, a longing gaze. In your mind, you imagined spending time with him, whether it be to see a movie or just walk around the city. You found that highly unlikely, though. Mostly because you could never bring yourself to ask him, and never thought he would ever ask you.
+++
“Really?” you said, a little disappointed. “I’d hate to see you go.”
Dr. William Afton shrugged, a grin across his lips. “I mean, it’s quite the modern idea, don’t you think? I think there ought to be more family restaurants out there. And with my engineering background, I think I’m just the right man to create something fun for children.”
“Your idea sounds like a science fiction novel,” you admitted, “but I like it. What does Mia think?”
“Oh, I had to convince her a little, but in the end, she’ll do as I say. Besides, we’re not moving very far. Just closer to the suburbs.”
You nodded. “I’ll miss you. Make sure to stop by again when you can.”
He agreed and went on his way to finish moving the rest of his belongings to his car. It was silly to want him to stay, but that was how it felt here. Everyone knew everyone, it was like a family. You’d made more friends here than you ever did before. Change wasn’t something you enjoyed.
+++
The day had passed by quickly. You took your lunch break and then went straight back to work. You made a few calls to make sure things were in order. If anything was wrong with the plumbing or if the wallpaper had chipped — things like that — it was your responsibility to fix it. Taking calls for potential renters, being in general a polite and pleasant person, it all came with your job.
It was unusual for a woman to hold this kind of position. Women barely worked at all. Most were housewives or teachers or secretaries. The fact that you even got this job at all was a miracle. And the fact that the people in this building were so pleasant was a blessing.
After your father died you thought everything was over. He left you a house, a small, one-story building with a nice lawn and a small backyard. It was closed off from the rest of the street, the way he liked it. Away from others, with his own peace. You supposed that trait passed down to you. Other than a simple conversation, you preferred to be by yourself rather than out with a large group of friends, partying at risqué clubs. Besides, even if you liked that kind of stuff, your father would never have approved.
You were dependent on him, right till the very end. Though you graduated from college, you didn’t know how to get a loan from a bank, drive a car, or even do your taxes. The easiest thing to do was to find a husband, but it was just so difficult. When you saw that sign outside of Sama saying ‘HIRING NOW’ you knew that was where you had to go. A new start. New opportunity. For the first time, you could make your own money, support yourself, and live the life you want.
You sighed, thinking about everything as you leaned back in your chair. The weather was hot today, so you set the fan beside your desk on. It was blowing through your hair, the coolness brushing against your skin with relief. It made your skirt rumple at the ends, but whenever it did that you just straightened it out, pulling it over your knees once more.
“Hey,” a voice said behind you.
Startled, you sat up straight, only to realize it was just Anastacha, the girl from the second floor. She lived with her mom, who was a cook at a restaurant, but apparently trying to make it as a chef. She had pigtails in her hair like always and was wearing a simple plaid dress.
“You scared me,” you said, tone both playful and scolding. “Don’t do that again.”
“Sorry,” she apologized, but she didn’t seem very sorry. “I need help with my homework. Mom says you had a good education, and that if I ever needed help I could just come to you.”
You smiled warmly. “Sure. Pull up that chair over there, and I’ll see what I can do.”
You looked through the folder. It was just basic algebra, nothing too difficult. You remembered doing this in middle school. For the next ten minutes, you both read through each problem and solved it together. She had a lot of questions — annoying ones — but it was fine. She was just a kid, and you were happy to help.
Just as you were explaining the last part to her, the front door opened.
It was Francis.
Distracted, you glanced up and down his body. Was it odd that you found him the most beautiful man ever? His long, Roman nose, and his smooth, pale skin. The way the veins in his hands flexed every time he moved them, the light blue dress shirt that hugged his slim, muscled arms, and that dark, tousled hair, widow’s peak dipped in the middle of his forehead.
He passed by you with a short nod. It almost hurt that he didn’t bother to stay longer, but you could see the bags under his eyes and his sluggish movements. He was tired. And to be fair, so were you.
When the elevator door closed, Anastacha exclaimed, “Oh, he likes you!”
“Shh!” You didn’t need people hearing that. “He does not. Do you want to finish this or not?”
“He does,” she insisted with a giggle. “You saw the way he looked at you?”
“You can’t determine things based on a single look.”
“Yes, I can. Mr. Mosses is nice, but he kind of just ignores everyone. He doesn’t do that with you.”
The thought that Francis may like you was an intoxicating one. He was just a man, one that you never exchanged many words with, yet he managed to make you feel all sorts of ways. Was it possible that Anastacha was right? That he really did like you?
“I bet you like him, too.”
You glared at her. You did not need Anastacha spreading rumors about how you were in love with the milkman, however true that may be.
“No, I don’t. Focus.” You pointed the pencil back at her homework. “Now, in order to find x, you have to subtract . . . . . .”

Neteyam x Original Na'vi Female Character
Summery: Seeking refuge, Xilä and her father venture to the lands of the Omatikaya clan, in the hopes that the Toruk Makto would be generous in allowing them to stay. This is her story about not only finding her strength, but finding love.
Warning: This story contains smut, violence & abuse (please don't read if these topics will affect you)
Some characters have been aged up. Neteyam in particular is 23.
Xilä is my own creation.
~
Part 5 - Poker Face
“That was a bit…better,” Neteyam said, trying not to crack a smile. “Try again. Com-pu-tor. Computer.”
“Kum-po-tuh,” Xilä mimicked, trying her best to enunciate.
“Better. What is a computer?”
“A device used to store or share or create information- day-ta.” Xi frowned. “Wait so if it does that then is it not the same thing as the tahbleet? How do they look so different yet do the same thing?” she asked, confused looking at the strange device he’d shown her not even five minutes ago.
“The tablet. And yeah, you’re right…Think of it like a leaf and a bowl- we use them both to eat but yet they are very different. See? Both devices can do the same yet they are different…”
She grinned up at him with a little tilt of her head and he found himself returning the gesture. He realized she did that a lot more now. Smile. She laughed and giggled a lot too and he seemed to want to hear it all the time. It was his favourite sound and her nose would scrunch up in the cutest way too.
“Is that funny to you?” he grinned, poking her side and getting a giggle in response.
“A little,” she said- her nose scrunching up just the way he liked it.
As they strolled further into the empty lab, she ran forward, in awe. With rapt attention at each new thing she saw, she asked him question after question.
Spotting Grace, Xi moved to peer through the machine housing the floating Na’vi. “Kiri’s mother,” she said softly. “Hi Grace,” she whispered.
Neteyam observed Xilä fixated, “She told you?”
“Yes, she said she wanted to introduce us…Grace is so beautiful. Kiri looks just like her,” she murmured, pressing her palms against the glass.
“You two getting on okay?” asked Norm who walked in, in his Avatar body.
Xi clammed up and shuffled closer to Neteyam as the man drew nearer. Neteyam fought an amused smirk when she suddenly turned shy, reaching out to fiddle with a loose thread on the side of his warrior belt to avoid the newcomer.
“Yeah, Norm we’re good. We’re exploring the labs today. Hey since you’re here, can you show her what you worked on? The research on Li’ona?”
“Hell yeah! It’s Xi right? Well, welcome to my world,” he said with his arms stretched out as he turned to walk to the other side of the room. “If you’ll follow me-”
A small hand clutched his fingers and Neyetam almost stumbled when he realized it was Xilä. His head snapped to hers and she looked him right in the eyes with a little smile- she was nervous.
He squeezed her fingers in response and gave her an encouraging expression. “You got this,” he mouthed silently.
If Norm thought it was weird they held hands, he didn’t show it.
“So this is a map of Pandora.” He typed into a computer and a holographic map appeared. “And this…is Li’ona.”
“Wow,” Xi whispered in awe of the amazing technology, taking a step forward.
Neteyam immediately felt the loss when she released his hand to have a closer look, he wanted to snatch it right back up.
Norm pointed out a few things to her on the map then went on a long winded rave about “climate change” and “precipitation”, “droughts” and something called, “atmospheric conditions.”
Suffice to say it all went right over her head.
She did perk up once more when he started speaking normally again.
“-so yeah we’re basically stumped. I did talk to some of the Omatikaya elders to see if anything like this ever happened in their time but they all say the same thing.”
“And what is that?” she asked intrigued, her ears twitching as she stared at the oldly dressed Avatar.
“They say Li’ona’s been abandoned by Eywa. They think the people have dishonoured her in some way- and I mean, I’m kinda willing to bet on that at this point. There’s literally no other scientific explanation for the cease of rains. Over twenty fives years of no rain? That sounds like Eywa’s doing to me,” he shrugged helplessly.
“Oh….Well, thank you for showing me Norm and thank you for all your hard work.”
He lit up from her thanks. “Oh, yeah. Anytime. It’s no prob-lemo,” he winked.
Momentarily distracted, he turned back to the monitor to type something.
Xi pursed her lips in contemplation, there was a guilty feeling bubbling in her chest.
“Hey, what’s wrong?” Neteyam asked quietly as he stood beside her. His hand crept under her hair to cup her neck gently, thumb brushing below her ear.
She turned and stared up at him with those brilliant orbs of hers. “I just realized something ‘Teyam and I feel guilty about it,” she whispered, clutching his wrist. “You will think I am terrible.”
He frowned. “I could never think that Xilä. Never, alright?”
“I do not care.”
“Hm?” His frown deepened- not understanding.
“About Li’ona I mean. I do not care about them anymore. I do not care what will happen to the people left. I do not care if Eywa has deserted them. I do not care if their lands never flourish once more. There is nothing in here,” she said, laying her free palm against her heart. “I should care, but I don’t.”
“Then don’t,” Neteyam said, seriously. “And don’t feel guilty about it either, okay? You don’t have to care if you don’t want to. This is your home now anyway.”
Touched by his words, she stepped forward and hugged him in response- her forehead slotting into the space between his pec and shoulder blade, slim arms wrapping around his waist.
Norm, catching their sweet moment, grinned and wiggled his eyebrows at Neteyam over Xi’s head.
Neteyam simply rolled his eyes at him and hugged Xi closer without care, leaning down to hide his smile in her hair. She felt perfect in his arms.
The rest of their visit was eventful. Norm cracked jokes with Xilä and got her to open up, he showed her how the Avatar bodies worked, then introduced himself to her in his human form. They even managed to practise some English together.
“That was fun actually,” she chirped as Neteyam walked her back to Salveen and Jxo’s. “Heh-lo how ah ew,” she practised, curling her index finger around his pinky so she could swing their arms together as they strolled.
“I am fine, thank you. How are you?” he smirked, enjoying her little giggle.
“I am ha-peee too-nite,” she grinned, looking around in wonderment at the woodspirits  littered in the air.
He stared at her as she twirled away, reaching her hands up for a woodspirit to land in her palms.
There was no one else but the two of them in that moment- she was all he saw.
“......I am happy too,” he admitted. And it was the truth.
Neteyam was completely content.
He was happy.
~
Xi grinned as she checked out the cards in her hands.
“You’ve got a terrible poker face Xilä,” Lo’ak said with a smirk, and Spider snorted in response.
“I can’t help it! Don’t look at me then.”
“That’s not how it works, Xi,” he grinned, “you have to pay attention to your opponent’s tells.”
“Okay, well pretend I am not grinning then,” she said, raising the cards to try and hide her face without success- she was having fun, how could she possibly not smile?
Both boys cackled at her antics.
Her and Neteyam’s lessons were on hold for the day because he had been called in for an important meeting with the council.
Although he did still come over that morning and ate breakfast with her, which made her quite happy. But admittedly- she truly missed him. She already didn’t like whenever they had to part ways every afternoon after her lessons ended.
“Can we play Go Fish instead?” Tuk pouted, pushing her hand of cards away. “I don’t like poker.”
“After this round Tuk, we’re teaching Xi a very important life lesson here.”
Spider nodded solemnly in agreement. “Exactly. Bluffing is the key to a successful life…the winnings are pretty great also,” he said with a grin from ear to ear as he slammed his cards on the table then proceeded to pull the pile of takings towards him.
Those winnings included a mismatched collection of a small whittled figurine, a few of Salveen’s famous sari cakes and some pretty colourful glass stones from the river.
Lo’ak sighed at his loss, tossing his losing cards down too. “Alright. One more round. All or nothing.”
The guys had a day off and so they decided to pop in on her for a while before they went off to do their exploring. They came armed ready with a pilfered deck of cards they said they “borrowed from Norm,” and one very excited Tuktirey who had followed her brother all the way here.
Tuk had finally grown bored enough it seemed. She wandered closer to Xilä, and began playing in her hair, twisting and braiding the strands with clumsy but determined little fingers- a tiny tongue poking out of her mouth in concentration.
“Is my brother still being a hard-ass with you?” Lo’ak asked, as he shuffled the deck. “He’s tough as heck when he runs our drills. Half the team usually hates him by the time we’re done.”
“Sometimes,” Xi responded, careful to keep her head still for Tuk, “but I know he means well. He’s a great teacher really, I enjoy our lessons.”
He and Spider shared a look. “Yeah okay I’ll take that as a no then.”
“What do you mean?” she frowned as she accepted her dished out cards, fanning them out the way Spider taught her to.
“Nothing,” he sang with a knowing grin.
Spider snickered, “Ignore him Xi, he’s just trying to stir up something he has no business trying to. Alright you’re up.” He nodded at her to start the game.
One more round turned into two, which turned to four and soon they had practically spent almost all morning sitting around Salveen and Jxo’s table as they bickered and joked with each other.
Tuk ran off a few minutes ago to raid her stash of beads at home so that she could make Xi’s hair “extra beautiful” which made Xi laugh. She’d truly grown fond of the six year old and her silliness.
Although they had gotten off to a rocky start, she and Lo’ak became fast friends, much to Neteyam’s dismay at times. Lo’ak could be rebellious and wild and in true Lo’ak fashion, he was always trying to find a way to include her in his hijinks.
One time last month he had taken her along with him and Spider to practise their shots. Shots, she soon realized, meant using a human invention called a machine gun, and not her silly little practice bow and arrows.
To say Neteyam was livid about the entire ordeal was a joke. When he found them in the clearing they'd snuck off too, he immediately grabbed the gun Lo’ak had been teaching her to hold and shoved it back into his brother's chest. He all but snarled at Lo’ak and Spider, followed by a slew of very creative curses.
With one last, “what the hell is wrong with you two?” he entwined his fingers with hers and dragged her out of there with a disappointed, “seriously sweetheart? What were you thinking going along with those skxawngs?”
Lo’ak and Spider, took Neteyam’s vexation in stride, calling out a series of, “You’re no fun bro!” and “Don’t worry Xi, you’ll get a turn next time!”
Before she knew it five months had flown by. Her circle of friends and acquaintances had widened, she no longer felt uncomfortable around the crowds at dinnertime, or nervous to walk through Home Camp. People would stop her to engage in conversation, or invite her to events.
She even went to her third communion for one of Salveen’s friends' grandsons just last week.
On an afternoon after Neteyam usually dropped her off, if she wasn’t at Salveen’s side helping to prepare the dinner feast with the other cooks, she was at the healer tents, unofficially studying under Mo’at’s wing.
The two women had quickly become the mother figures she had always wanted while Jxo, the gruff but sweet elderly man became the father figure she never knew existed.
One day Kiri had expressed to her that she too never had many girl friends- if any. Pretty much after that they’d usually have a weekly sleepover or two, which involved a lot of giggling and gossiping which Kiri described as “girl talk”.
Neteyam usually got chastised for trying to worm his way into Kiri’s sectioned off room, under the pretence of “just checking in” to which Kiri would sass back, “You had her all day, she’s mine now. Get out.”
Jake and Neytiri were another story entirely. They were both intimidating to say the least, yet they treated her as if she were already one of their own- as if their son wasn’t still training her to learn their ways.
Jake had her laughing so hard one night, tears leaked from her eyes as he told her stories about his own experience learning the Omatikaya ways- about his own clumsiness and accidents. Even about his “strict teacher” who seemed to have the motto “learn trying or die.”
Neytiri had simply rolled her eyes fondly at her husband and responded by saying, “he is exaggerating Xi.”
In those following months Xilä had only seen her father from afar a handful of times. Not once had he come to visit and she found that didn’t care.
Because life was good and she was happy.
Xilä was at peace.
She had found her home.
~
The Omatikaya’s forest echoed with the sounds of life……and grunts.
Xi growled as she tried to punch another blow at her attacker, failing from a clumsy trip and falling to the forest floor with an, “Umpf!”
Neteyam flicked his hair back- braids swaying dramatically as he shot her a disappointed look. “You’re moving too erratically, brisk deliberate moments remember? Stop second guessing yourself.”
She scowled, as she panted. They’d been at it for hours now. How hadn't he broken a sweat yet? He wasn’t even out of breath!
“You’re sloppy today. Are you practising your breathing exercises? Because it sure doesn’t sound like it. You’re not even trying at this point Xilä.”
“I am trying!” she snapped, “but you keep blocking my hits.”
Hands on his hips, he pursed his lips unimpressed. “Xilä-”
“I know I know, my attacker wouldn’t care. Can’t we go back to archery? I like that better than when we do hand to hand combat.”
“No. Now get up, let’s go again.”
“But I'm good at that one! You said it yourself…natural talent.”
“Xilä.” His tone was firm. “Can we get this done already?”
She frowned up at him, from her sprawled position on the ground. “Why are you so prickly today?”
He huffed. “Prickly?”
“Yes! All day you have been prickly! Practically since you picked me up this morning! You were rude to Salveen when she asked you to stay for breakfast, you keep muttering strange things under your breath when you think I can’t hear, you’ve got a permanent scowl on your face- hence I say prickly. You are brooding Neteyam…and not very nice at all if you ask me.”
“Good, I'm glad you are finally learning that I am not nice. I never claimed to be,” he hissed. “Now get up…please.”
She obeyed, dusting her hands off as she shot him a concerned look. “Are you alright ‘Teyam? Has- has something happened?” she asked, shuffling closer to him.
“No. I’m fine,” he said shortly. “Assume position, we will try the same sequence again.”
“No.”
“Xilä! For Eywa sake will you just- !”
“You want me to complete this lesson?”
“Yes!” he hissed impatiently.
“And aren’t we friends?”
“Wha- God Xi. Yes okay?!”
“Then be my friend and just tell me if something is bothering you. We will get nowhere with you being like this.”
Neteyam slumped his shoulders and hung his head with a snicker. He couldn’t help shooting her a proud look. Gone was the timid little Na’vi who would flinch at every move he made. Despite the situation, he was quite pleased that she was comfortable enough to stand up to him like this- to say no.
“Yes Xi. Something is bothering me, alright? I didn’t realize I was taking it out on others. I’ll stop now.”
She squinted at him with the tilt of a head. “Do you want to talk about it?”
“No…..maybe,” he said indecisively.
“Well I want to talk about it,” she decided.
“……Fine. I tell you and then we finish this lesson, agreed?”
“Agreed,” she echoed, biting down on her smile of success.
He walked over and casually leaned his side against a tall, thick plant, brushing off specs of wet moss from the front of his loincloth.
She followed him and did the same, fighting hard to not glance at the hard panes of muscle on his abdomen. She did that a lot lately- she didn’t need him catching on.
“I’m sorry if I’ve been prickly,” he said sincerely before continuing, “I didn’t like what the council had to say in my meeting yesterday.”
“Oh. Are they upset with something you’ve done?” she asked, concerned.
“Mmm, more like something I haven’t done yet,” he said, reaching out to remove a small twig that was tangled in her braid. Her hair had gotten longer, he noticed.
“Well that’s not cryptic at all,” she sassed.
He scoffed at her response, sending a flick to her thigh with his tail. “Your friendship with Spider and my brother keeps worrying me more and more every day.”
She grinned. “Sorry. Okay, okay, continue.”
“I have an important decision to make soon,” he said, turning serious again. “It’s impending and I’m unsure what to do about it. There are a lot of expectations riding on this and… depending on the choice I make, I will either please many people and make myself unhappy… or make myself happy but disappoint many.”
Her face softened and she reached out to hook her index finger around his large pinky in comfort. “That sucks. I’m sorry, ‘Teyam.”
He shrugged, with a sad smile. “Well it’s to be expected. I am the chief’s son after all,” he joked self deprecatingly.
“It must be tough, having all that responsibility…it seems like a lot of pressure if you ask me.” She reached up with her other hand to smooth a finger against the frown on his face. “You get a little crinkle right here every time you worry. I don’t like it,” she murmured.
He grinned at that.
“Now see…so much better already,” she said, lighting up at his expression.
He let out a breathy laugh and she found herself liking it much more than she probably should. As her eyes traced over his now relaxed features, she felt a little swoop in her tummy and she found that she could not look away.
“Thank you. I needed that,” he said, holding her gaze.
“Needed what?” she asked distractedly.
His attention flickered down to her lips fleetingly when he heard her change in tone. He blinked just realizing how close they were standing together, how easy it would be for him to-
He shook his head, as if that would erase the sudden thought in his mind. “You know, to talk about it, get it out- what I was feeling…A good laugh always helps too,” his speech slowed as he continued to stare.
Their locked gazes turned heated and the air was charged- both feeling the same thing.
Neteyam kept flickering between her pouty lips and brilliant eyes while she stared up at him as if he hung the moon itself.
“Well you know the saying… ” she murmured, and he nearly groaned out loud at the sound of her voice, it had turned low, almost husky.
“What saying?” he asked vaguely, unaware he was leaning in.
“What are friends for?…Spider taught it to me,” she said, in near whisper.
“Mhm, friends are the best…” he replied, his tone matching hers- he wasn’t sure he was even aware of what he was saying anymore.
Neteyam tried. He truly did.
Yet he couldn’t help himself could he?
Because the next thing he knew, he was shuffling closer, caging her against the massive stem of the plant with a hand above her head. She inhaled deeply and her heartbeat sped up as he tilted downward- their faces a mere inches apart.
“Neteyam,” she whispered almost inaudibly, wetting her lips in anticipation.
The moment he brushed a featherlight kiss against her lips, her eyes fluttered shut. He cupped her cheek and kissed her tenderly, as if she were delicate- breakable.
It was over before she knew it and the soft expression he shot her as he pulled away caused the little swoop in her tummy to somersault.
He cleared his throat as he straightened up, eyes diverted. Awkwardly scratching the back of his head he gestured to the clearing. “We should um- are you ready to finish the lesson?”
She grinned, and followed him with a little spring in her step. “If we must.”
~
It was later that week after a long morning on the trails and while they munched on the meal he packed for them that he finally broached a topic he knew she was daunting.
“The next Iknimaya ceremony is in the next two moons,” he stated simply, after he had his final bite of food.
She froze mid chew, cheeks a bit puffy, from the food in her mouth, tail slowed from its happy little wag. “So?”
He held a laugh- her new found sass was too much for him sometimes. “We’re almost getting closer to the end of your lessons, Xi.”
Xilä didn’t like where he was going with this already.
“Look I know you don’t like flying, but I don’t think you should rule out all your opportunit-”
“Your mother said I didn’t need to perform the ceremony to complete my lessons and secure my place,” she said panicked.
“And you don’t, that’s still a factor,” he soothed, his tail circling her outstretched ankle in comfort.
“Then why do you want me to do it?”
“Because I think you can. I want to help you face your fears.”
She contemplated his words. “I don’t mind never having to fly again and in any case, don’t only warriors and hunters have ikrans? Isn’t Iknimaya only for-”
“Not necessarily no. Many others went through the rites for various reasons. Whether to prove it to themselves or- look it doesn’t matter. Kiri’s got one,” he pointed out. “…but then again she is a special case.”
Trying to derail the topic she asked, “How is she a special case?”
“Because she did not have to struggle like anyone else. My sister simply walked into a nest of ikrans and asked one to claim her.”
Xi gaped, impressed. “Is that because of her special connection with Eywa?”
Neteyam nodded. “Now come on Xi, tell me what you think?”
Xi swallowed another bite and cleared her throat. “I don’t know ‘Teyam, can’t you just let me complete my lessons without it? I definitely know I won’t choose warrior or hunter and I don’t mind having a fear of flying…. So we can skip it. Please?”
Neteyam snorted, and released her ankle. “Nope,” he said, popping the P with a devilish smirk as he took a swig of water from their shared water pouch. He stretched out on his back against the forest floor, one hand propped behind his head.
“Why not?” she whined.
“Because Xi, I already told you. I think you have it in you,” he shrugged, closing his eyes contentedly. “I’m pushing you. Deal with it.”
Abandoning her leaf wrapped meal, she crept closer to him. “Neteyam.”
He was ignoring her, but the hint of a smirk and the twitch of an ear told her he was enjoying himself.
“Neteyam,” she called again, kneeling at his side, peering closer as if it would make him open his eyes. She huffed at his attics, hiding her own smile. He could be silly when he was ready, and seeing him like this in these little moments made her feel giddy.
With a serge of courage tinged with curiosity, she leaned in- balanced with a palm to his chest and pressed her lips to his. His eyes shot open in shock but he did not move away. If anything he closed his eyes again and kissed her right back, one large palm anchoring in her hair.
This kiss, unlike their first unspoken one, was exploratory.
She paid attention to what he did, how he moved, trying to mimic his actions with her own lips. Xi sighed against him when he tugged her closer, tilting his head to the right while she moved to the left.
Neteyam hummed against her lips, she could feel his smile against hers. When she pulled back she licked her lips- slightly dazed. The full blown heated gazed he laid on her caused the stirring between her legs to pulse.
“What are you trying to do sweetheart?” he taunted, squinting up at her suspiciously. “Are you trying to bribe me?”
“What? N- wait…is it working?” she asked hopefully.
Tossing his head back, he cracked up loudly. “Not even a little Xi. We’ll start training next week. Now come on, you're supposed to be practising your English.”
She pouted petulantly. “I do not like you today,” she said in perfect English.
Neteyam grinned. “Well I like you,” he teased as he sat up, reaching out to pull her close by the nape of her neck. And even though he knew he shouldn’t have, even though he knew it should have never happened before in the first place, he kissed her.
They ended up not getting any English lessons done that afternoon. They sat and made out until it was way past the time for them to get back.
He had to stifle his amusement when he swiped his tongue against her lips for the first time, she was shocked to say the least, judging by her little surprised squeak.
Then when he licked into her mouth- his tongue tangling with hers, she had pulled away looking completely scandalized by what he had done. Her facial expression alone had caused him to exhale a laugh as he grinned into her cheek.
And although she was momentarily shocked, she was quickly leaning in for more- gasping when he began to bite and suck on her bottom lip.
She was fucking adicting he thought- all sweet and delicious, it was difficult for him to stop. So he didn’t.
When they finally arrived back at her tent, that afternoon, Salveen had made him bend so she could reach to smack him upside the head like a naughty little Na’vi.
She scolded him for not only his rudeness towards her that morning but also for bringing Xilä back home so late.
He hid his smirk behind a cough when she asked, “What in Eywa’s name were you two doing for so long? Xilä and I have plans.”
Thank goodness for the elder’s terrible attention span. She moved to throw on a beaded shawl the exact moment Xi had turned a pretty shade of purple, unable to conceal her reaction like him.
He pressed a quick kiss against her cheek in goodbye while the elder’s back was still turned, loving the way her blush deepened.
As he made a dash out the exit, he could hear Salveen’s concerned fussing over Xilä. “Xi, darling are you unwell? You look quite flushed.”
Neteyam went easy on his trainee students that evening for the first time ever.

Episode 2 : Jackson
Song: Nothing Brings Me Down -  Artist: Emiliana Torrini - Released: 2005
+++++++
The VCR tape in your mind starts to play a black screen. A small light emerges in the darkness and illuminates your old kitchen back in Buffalo. The table is covered by the smuggled Firefly letters your mother was reading. You walk over to the table. “Honey?” you turn and your mother enters the kitchen with her bag.
“Mom,” you say quietly. It echoes in your mind like rippling water.
“Are you okay honey? You look sick.”
“I’m fine.” You look back at the letters on the table. “What’s going on with the Fireflies?”
She kisses your head and sits at the table. “Uh well a lot. My friend Marlene wrote to me. She wanted to know if it was possible to extract cordyceps from the brain without killing the host.”
“What’s the point?” you scoffed, “To extract it you would cause major damage to the brain, killing them anyways. And it spreads fast, so the person is already lost.”
“Yes, but as a means to create a form of… cure?”
“From infected brain tissue? It wont work. Cordyceps only knows how to take over a host.”
“But, what if it mutated,” She raises an eyebrow at you. You give your mother a deadpan stare.
“Mutated? The host would still be infected.”
“But what if they were still themselves, still human?”
“H-how? Cordyceps is foreign to our bodies. Even our antibodies try to fight it off before it completely takes over the brain.”
Your mother starts to shuffle and pile the smuggled letters on the table.
“Mom?” your voice echoes as everything starts to shimmer in your mind, “Are you saying there’s someone who's immune?”
.
.
“Damn did I fall asleep?” you roused to the sound of someone knocking on the door. Your knees were bent to your chest sitting on an armchair. You were still in Hannah’s room keeping watch of her and Sophie, but the fatigue and exhaustion caught up to you and you had fallen asleep. You unraveled yourself to get up with a few cracks and opened the door.
Joel stood there with his hair wet from his shower, “G’morning, we’re thinking of heading out in ‘bout an hour. You need help with anything?”
“Yeah, can you watch Sophie while I get Hannah dressed?”
.
.
You washed Hannah the best you could, with water and a rag, and got her dressed. You assisted her down the stairs. Joel and Tommy were feeding the horses outside. Hannah went outside to get Sophie and talk to Joel. You went into the living room where the safe was to get supplies. You heard the bathroom door open and footsteps coming down the hall.
“Good morning.”
You turn to say good morning back, Ellie stood there with her hair down- wet, she wore a gray hoodie, dark jeans, and her converse.
“Good morning..” is what finally came out as your train of thought returned and you put fresh ammo in your pistol.
“How’s the baby?” she asks, coming over and checking the safe. There was a sheen on her cheek and a few droplets running down her short layers onto the sides of her face. Her pine aroma was a warm musk in the cool morning air. Despite taking a shower, she was still groggy.
“She’s with Joel and Hannah right now. I had Joel watch her for a bit, he didn’t seem to mind,” you both hear Hannah laugh outside. Ellie doesn’t say anything and grabs some rags. You feel like somehow you struck a nerve but you let it be and zip up your bag.
Ellie had her sleeves pushed up exposing her ink. “Your tattoo,” you started, “I like it. What does it mean?”
“Thanks, I, uh, got it when I was 17, my friend Cat did it. I have a guitar with a moth on it that I like and decided to use that as the main design. The fern is something that Cat helped me come up with. I wanted a large design taking up my forearm. She said that the fern represented hope and family,” she looks at you and you can’t help but smile at her. Your smile must have been contagious because she smiled back at you. “Do you have any tattoos?”
“I do-,” but before you could finish Tommy came into the house.
“Horses are ready, let’s head out.”
.
.
You were back on Shimmer. Tommy was leading the way and he was eager to get back before noon. “I found Maria this ring, I swear it’s gold,” he held it up as if that would confirm whether it was genuine.
“Is that even her size?” Joel mumbles.
“Looks a little small, maybe I make a cast and melt it down into somethin’.”
You look over to see Hannah using a nursing cover that she sewed back in Orion.
“Is she latching on?” you ask.
“Oh yes, she’s feeding well.”
“Good,” you sigh in relief. One less thing to worry about. You felt a little selfish but you were still tired and decided to slowly rest your head on Ellie’s backpack.
“Tired?”
“Hm? No, I’m awake.”
“So..uh about your tattoo,” Ellie's voice was in range so that only you could hear her, “you said you had one?”
“Look down,” you instruct. Ellie looked and you stretched your right arm out and flipped your wrist over to reveal a small five pointed star. It could’ve been mistaken for a large freckle at first glance. Ellie is surprised she didn’t notice it yesterday. “I got it done back home in Buffalo. It was against the rules to get tattoos because they said it encouraged gangs, but a couple of us got together past curfew and tattooed each other with some needles and ink, not really the safest thing to do. My uh, best friend and I tattooed stars on each other.” You think back to Emily.
Ellie’s eyelids flutter and she flashes back to Riley. “I had a best friend back in Boston,” Ellie questioned herself for a split second as to why she felt like she could open up to you. Was it because she was just interested in you? Or did she have a deeper longing to feel connected to someone; someone to open up to, not someone to watch from the sidelines, but someone who was just for her. “We snuck out after curfew too.” She squinted and rolled her tongue in her mouth. That was the end of her story.
.
.
“We made it to one of our trails,” Tommy announces ahead, “Stay on guard, this route is one of the more active.”
You got your pistol ready. You rode by a library and took a mental note to come back to see if there was anything worth taking.
“Hey, who usually does this route?” Ellie asked without being too loud.
“No one makes it out this far other than Eugene when he gets a chance,” Joel responded. Ellie kept quiet.
Tommy suddenly halted and raised his hand. The sound of a distant clicker was heard. Tommy hopped off his horse and took out his sniper. The clicker emerged out of one of the distant buildings and Tommy used his scope. “G’damn it.”
“What’re you seeing?” Joel asked.
“There’s about 30 or so cramped by the ol’ coffee shop, more inside.”
“Suppose they were migrating up the mountain for spring?”
“Yeup..” Tommy looks back and nods Joel and Ellie over.
You watched as the three plotted a way around the infected. You scanned the buildings around you for any movement. You weren’t the type to get nervous without cause, but a ball of anxiety was curling in your abdomen and you couldn’t figure out why.
“Okay then,” Tommy turns around, “We are rerouting and avoiding this area altogether to keep the baby safe. There’s a dirt path going down to a stream close to Jackson. Keep eyes out for stragglers. When we get back home we’ll send up a team to clear this place out.”
.
.
The path was steep and muddy going down the mountain. Joel’s horse jumped down a steep incline before catching its footing again. “Easy girl,” he said.
Sophie started crying. Her newborn cry was faint but persistent. “Shh Sophie,” Hannah tried to hush her and rock her in the swaddle.
Then, the distant noise of a runner waking up echoed, followed by another one, and another. They came out from behind the trees a small distance away screaming towards Joel and Hannah.
“Let’s move!” Tommy started going faster downhill.
Tommy led through the mud down the mountain trying to avoid trees, the steep drops, and cliffs. You looked back and saw about 20 runners following behind and 4 clickers. You shot down one runner before having to grab hold of Ellie’s waist to not fall.
“There’s about 25 of them after us!,” you called out.
“We can’t bring this shit back to Jackson!” Ellie yelled.
“Tommy she’s right,” Joel echoed.
“At this point I’m trying to not fall off this damn mountain, you got some place in mind?”
Ellie thought for a second. She wasn’t used to this route but remembered coming out here when she was still doing group patrols. “The Baldwin Lodge. There’s a fence around the place!”
“Okay you heard that Tommy?” Joel said.
“Sure did, let's haul ass!”
.
.
Sophie cried all the way to the lodge. After entering the fence Joel and Tommy shot at the now 35 infected through the fence. Ellie ran inside and retrieved two molotovs that she threw at the horde. From deep inside the lodge two runners emerged and from behind the group. You and Hannah shot and killed them.
Then, quiet. Only the sound of Sophie’s soft cries remained. You brought Hannah inside and took a drinking syringe out your backpack and prepped it with a small dose of sleeping medicine. “Just for now, until we’re safe,” you said, feeding it to Sophie. Hannah nodded.
The cries ceased as she fell asleep. “You ladies alright?” Tommy comes inside with Joel and Ellie.
“Yeah, just put the baby asleep.” You look over at Ellie who is already looking at you. At your left arm to be specific. She comes over and grabs it. You feel some pain then notice the tear in your sleeve and a bloody gash. A small stream of blood goes down your sleeve and drips from your hand. “Oh I didn’t even feel it.”
“It could have been a branch, you need stitches, I can do it,” Ellie takes a rag and applies pressure
“Ellie, you take care of her, we will make sure this place is secure. We probably won't be out of here for another hour until the horde clears,” Joel said going downstairs and Tommy went up.
.
.
You and Ellie sat in a small bedroom upstairs where there were two chairs by some windows. You held down pressure to your wound as Ellie set up. It was nice to watch her from the front. Her sleeves were pushed up again and the sunlight coming through the window brightened up her green eyes. It was like meeting her all over again; you really couldn’t get enough from watching her. “Okay, let me see it,” she instructs, her voice low. You lifted the rag to reveal some blood. You removed your sleeve and lifted the bottom hem of your shirt to rest on your shoulder. You wore a dark gray bralette with a deep V. Ellie cleaned the wound with alcohol- you winced.
It’s not the most comfortable thing to go through, but it wasn’t your first time. Ellie drew in close to you and held your arm. Her rough fingers were firm on your smooth skin. With her first stitch your chest rose as you held your breath in anticipation of the initial shock of pain.. but she was good, and the pain wasn’t so bad. You started to breathe again and she went in for another. You looked down at her hands, “You’re good at this,” you quietly purred.
Ellie examines your face looking down at her handy work. Without saying anything, her hand  holding on to you, with just her fingertips, slowly slides up your arm, sending a wave of chills forming on your arm. Then, she grips you again as she sticks the needle in. You gasp and look away, closing your eyes and indulging in this mixture of pain and pleasure. “I’m almost done,” she says, drawing closer to you.
“Yeah okay,” you couldn’t say much more.
Your body stayed still under her touch. Her hands skillfully closed up your wound, “There,” Ellie admires her work and runs her thumb parallel to the stitch line. She lets go and puts the stuff away in your small medical pouch. There was deafening silence as you slipped your arm through your sleeve again. There was so much you wanted to say to her; ‘How did she get so good at suturing?’ She’s better than some of the students you’ve had, ‘And her hands..’ they were definite in every thrust and pull of the needle..
“A couple years back, Joel got hurt pretty bad.. It was just the two of us, and it took him weeks to recover. He was completely unconscious and needed stitches. I was shaking trying to hold on to the needle, I didn’t do a good job. I promised myself I wouldn’t let anything like that happen to him again..” she zips the pouch up, “so I practiced- even on myself.”  Ellie rubs her tattoo.
“Does your tattoo cover up a scar?” you notice the uneven surface under the ink.
“Yeah, uh a chemical burn actually,” she gulps a smile and looks at you.
You meet her deflective smile with a concerned look, but you hold your tongue. You weren’t the voice of reason when it came to indulging in “self soothing”.. “When my mother was killed, there was nothing I could do but listen when it happened. I replay that day over and over in my head every night, afraid I might forget something important. After that night, I promised that I wouldn’t let her death go in vain. I became a better doctor.. And with the losses along the way,” you look down at the star staining your wrist, “I promised I wouldn't let them down.”
Your mother’s image comes into mind, then Emily's. "I guess… that’s the long version of me saying, I like to drink,” you laugh to yourself.
Ellie smirks, “Hah I drink too, but I like to smoke,” she tilts her head, “Have you smoked before?”
A sheepish grin spreads on your face, “A stale cigarette once, I almost threw up,” you scrunch your face and stick out your tongue in playful disgust.
Ellie shakes her head and laughs at you a little, “No I mean the good stuff.”
“Oh you mean-”
“Yeah, if you want, I can roll you a fresh joint when we get to Jackson.”
“I haven’t tried it, but it sounds fun,” your eyes linger on Ellie as the tension in the room shifts. Ellie held an air of confidence around her. She smiles and nods at your response then passes you your pouch.
You shake your head, “I can’t tell,” holding one end of the pouch.
“Tell what?” she leans in keeping eye contact.
“If you’re going to be a good thing, or bad thing for me.”
“Maybe I’m both,” she studies your mouth.
“I hope so,” you watch Ellie’s tongue whip across her lips and they glisten in the sunlight. You suddenly became very desperate to taste them when-
“Ellie, you almost done up there? We are just about ready to leave.” Joel calls from downstairs and you both hear footsteps coming up.
You start to pack your backpack again and Ellie gets up to return her chair back to the other side of the table.
“Yeah coming down,” Ellie calls out dryly. Joel was already approaching the doorway.
“Good, there's some stragglers outside the fence. We can still make time if we leave now. How’s your arm Aria?” He leans on the door frame.
“Yeah doing good,” you smile and put your backpack on slowly.
Joel digs in his pocket and hands some ammo to Ellie.
“I’m still good,” she scratches her ear.
“Me too,” you clear your throat.
“Okay,” he puts it back in his pocket, scratching his head nonchalantly.
You stand next Ellie, “Ready?” she asks.
“Yeah.”
“Alright…,” Joel leaves and goes back down.
Ellie rolls her eyes and leans on her hip. You couldn’t help but laugh at her frustration. She turns around, “What?”
You take her hand, “Just c’mon,” and lead her to the stairs.
Going down, shots were fired outside. Joel and Tommy start killing stragglers and Ellie joins them outside.
“All patched up?” Hannah comes over with a suggestive smile.
“Mhm,” you smile. You check her bandages and help her up off the couch. She will be recovering for the next couple weeks. “I think we have a date.”
Hannah’s mouth dropped in surprise, “Wow you held back huh? Taking things slow was never  your thing Aria.”
You shake your head doubting, but a stubborn spark of hope lingers in your chest, filling your lungs and sitting in your throat. You look over at the window panes lining up to the ceiling.
“But maybe this is a good thing,” Hannah reassures.
“All clear!” Tommy calls out from outside.
“Okay,” you respond. The twist of anxiety fills your gut again. The windows loomed high above like a wall of eyes watching, judging, unable to speak, to warn of something. You look around the room one last time before taking Hannah and walking outside.
.
.
“There it is,” Joel slows down, “ Jackson.”

It laid beneath the mountains; your new home.
The gate opened into the stables. Ellie helps you off. “Welcome back!” a guy runs over, “Any encounters?”
“Just infected. We gotta set up a team. A horde is blocking the north trail by the library,” Joel says, giving his horse to a stable hand.
Hannah makes her way to you where she takes hold of your arm.
“I’m Jesse,” he comes over. He was charming and definitely had a good smile.
“I’m Dr. Aria Rose.”
“Hannah Moore, and this is Sophie,” she smiles a little too big.
Ellie watches from behind.
“I’m sure this one gave you a hard time,” He teases as he walks over to Ellie and gives her dab.
“Pfft, never.”
“Has anyone seen my wife?” Tommy calls out.
“He was cute,” Hannah whispers.
“I’m gonna find Eugene and set up a team for that horde, I’ll be seeing you later,” Joel nods a goodbye to Ellie and you.
“Tommy she’s walking on over!,” some guy on the watchout tower calls down.
“Do you think he’s single?” Hannah asks.
“If you like him, then he obviously isn’t,” you respond.
“Hannah!?”
A man and woman come running over and Hannah lets go to embrace them. “Bienvenue,” (Welcome) the woman says, almost crying. It was her aunt and uncle, the closest living relatives she had. Hannah had survived this trip and gave birth. She owed it all to you, her best friend, her sister.
“Thank you doctor,” they also came over to give you a hug.
“De rein,” (You’re welcome).
Hannah hugged you goodbye and they took Hannah and Sophie away. You promised to catch up with her soon.
You walked over to Ellie. “Was that?” she asks.
“Her aunt and uncle. Mission accomplished.”
“Dr. Rose?” an older short hair blonde woman comes over.
“There you are,” Tommy walks over to the woman and they hug.
“I’m Maria,” she shakes your hand, “ Welcome to Jackson. You must be tired from the trip. I have a place for you to stay. It’s not permanent but it’s the best we can do right now. Tomorrow I’ll bring you to the Medic tents and hospital and get you acquainted.”
“Sounds good.”
“Aria here did a whole g’damn c-section yesterday at the camp. Saved that girl's baby,” Tommy praised.
“Are you serious?” Jesse chimes in.
“I’m not surprised, that’s exactly what we need on our medical staff- someone who can work under pressure. Let’s get going and get you situated, Aria.” Tommy follows behind Maria, “Ellie you thinkin’ of coming by later?” she turns around.
“I’m helping Joel clear up the infected by the library. I’ll come by afterwards.”
“Okay, it’s pasta tonight. Stay safe out there.”
Before leaving with Maria, you turned to Ellie, “Thank you for taking care of me earlier,” her eyes were soft and lips were in a more prominent pout. You take a step closer, “When I’m settled in, maybe in a day or two, I want to see you, and we can do what we talked about.” Her hair frames her face and you push a strand behind her ear. She looks at you- eyes almost begging for you to stay.
“I want to see you too,” she almost whispers. She attempts to grab hold of your hand but she retracts before you could notice.
“Good,” you tenderly touch her bicep, then turn to catch up with Tommy and Maria.
Ellie watches as you leave the stables.
“She’s cute,” Jesse says leaning on the fence, “in a super smart doctor-y kinda way. You think she’s into comic book nerds?”
“I dunno,” she feels a tinge of doubt, “but we have plans, so..”
“Wow, like a date? She hasn’t even been in Jackson an hour and you’re already courting her?”
“Um who the hell says courting?”
“Not me, usually, especially not for you,” Jesse starts kicking dirt, “I mean no one else in Jackson seems to interest you, it’s good you’re getting back out there.”
Ellie bites her tongue. “You’re such a sap,” she teases.
.
.
“Space is a bit tight. If you choose to stay in Jackson permanently, we can arrange for housing, but in the meantime, I hope you find yourself at home,” Maria leads you into the guest bedroom of her and Tommy’s home.
“This is perfect Maria, thank you,” you looked around the bedroom; A full size bed, your own bathroom, a desk, everything you need. Your bedroom was situated downstairs across the hall from Maria’s office and your window faced the backyard.
Maria left you to settle in, but before you could unpack, you removed your top and looked at the stitch work in front of the mirror. You can tell there was going to be minimal scarring, but a scar nonetheless. You think about Ellie’s hands on you, her touch as she held you. You took pleasure in knowing that this scar will forever remind you of that. You look at the star on your wrist and smile.

FULL SCRIPT DIALOGUE:
I stand by the operation, Minister, as does General Serrano.
We were one minute away from getting Miguel Rodríguez.
Minster, we recovered something from the house. It’s a ledger. Cartel accounts, transactions, going back years.
It’s coded. It’s bribes, money laundering… cocaine sales.
That’s right.
There are two possibilities. There’s the cartel accountant, Guillermo Pallomari.
And there’s the money launderer we extradited from Curaçao, Franklin Jurado. Jurado’s the most important witness to this case and he’s in U.S. custody. We’re not handing him over to a special prosecutor. So you’re welcome to keep the ledger, Minister… but we have the only guy who can read it.
I know someone who might.

FARC, or Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia, were a guerrilla army of about 17,000 strong… engaged in the longest civil war in modern history. And in the early days of that war, how did they finance their struggle? Kidnapping. Wealthy Colombians would pay a ransom to have their loved ones returned unharmed. So when the Cali cartel wanted to keep someone on ice, safely hidden somewhere in the middle of the jungle, they hired the pros. For a hefty fee, of course.
(In Spanish) Nice look, Berna. You’re coming on the raid?

I honestly wish coercion never became a murky part of the todofam plot because the todofam fandom is worse than ever to navigate. With what we’re stuck with now, I’m willing to bet neither rei nor endeavor saw what happened as s/a and it will hit like a ton of bricks when they both see their separate therapists that yes this is a thing even if both parties were unaware at the time. I don’t even know if hori knows it. Like he obviously knows coercion is bad, but is he aware that by rei not wanting to for natsuo and shouto that it would technically count as s/a? For me such a topic is a step too far to enjoy todofam anymore and it’s sad because they were my favorite part of the manga. Just one of multiple disappointments in the final act.
Tbh, I'm not sure I understand well your ask. The element of coercion is not a last-minute addition - it has been the basic feature of Enji's and Rei's marriage, ever since we first heard of it back in Ch 31:
Tumblr media
We did not know the specific details, but the underlying premise was established - the marriage was an unethical transaction - money for Rei's quirk with the understanding that children would be created until Endeavor got the tool he wanted for his own purpose.
Tumblr media
The tension around Shouto's existence was also established already back then. How his resemblance to Enji is Rei's trigger...
Tumblr media
... or how Shouto perceived his very existence to be a breaking point for his mother.
Tumblr media
Children are perceptive this way. Just like Touya understood that he was being replaced, Shouto understood that his birth was a breaking point for Rei and in fact the whole family. The coercion, the sad truth that Rei did not want to give birth to Shouto is written between the lines already back then.
It makes the whole drama between Rei and Shouto that much more believable. If Rei breaks not "just" from being hit by Enji and being helpless to protect her child, but because there is a much deeper violation at play. Rei having to bear Shouto (and Natsuo) as part of a dirty transaction, something she even agreed to, the feelings of repulsion, then the feelings of guilt because Rei is fundamentally a good person who understands that the children are faultless in this situation.
Rei's limp pose as she can't bear to embrace Shouto as he clings to her...
Tumblr media
... only then to touch him only on the right side.
Tumblr media
Rei is trying her best, but the way she leashes out against Shouto makes more sense with this whole unwanted birth aspect added to the picture.
Just as Shouto sensing his mother's mixed feelings towards him make it believable why he would not try to see her for a decade, despite we know how much he loves his mother and how much he misses her. He believes that even looking at him is triggering for Rei.
And yes, it's a very dark origin, but it was never portrayed as anything else. The fact that Rei and Shouto are able to forge a positive relationship after all that is all the more precious. I'm sure Rei already had plenty of therapy (she spent 10 years in a mental hospital) and has faced most of her guilt, and Shouto reconnecting with her was the last push she needed to get back on her feet.
Shouto and Rei released each other from their respective guilts - so they could move forward and focus on recovery. Because while I'm sure Rei was coerced into having another baby, I'm also certain that she still loves him and is happy about his existence now.
As for Enji - I think he's definitely aware by now how screwed up the entire premise of his family was. Up until now he kept moving from crisis to crisis, having his hero work as an outlet for his feelings of guilt (like we saw in both the Nomu and AFO fights). But I think if he stops because he chooses or is forced to retire, all that crushing guilt will hit him (I hope).
I'm honestly more worried about Shouto who is still carrying the burden of his birth being a breaking point for the entire family, and what pushed Touya over the edge. Right now he's got a solid enough support structure at UA to deal with it, but I could definitely see him suffer from depression later in life.

In an exclusive interview, Amber Benson, James Marsters, and Charisma Carpenter dove into the new Audible original Slayers: A Buffyverse Story, which debuts on October 12. Due to the ongoing SAG-AFTRA strike, they could not speak on their experiences on Buffy, Angel, or any other struck work.
Slayers is co-written by Amber Benson, who portrayed Tara in Buffy, and Christopher Golden, who has penned multiple books in the Buffyverse. Before the COVID pandemic, Benson began calling her former costars to see who might want to be involved, focusing on the characters she felt weren’t serviced enough in the original show. She also wanted to find a way to highlight what it means to be a slayer who is also a woman of color.
Amber, why did you want to do this now?
Amber Benson: The reason I got excited about doing Slayers was because I wanted to see Charisma be a vampire slayer. I want to live in the meta world where Charisma Carpenter is Cordelia, the Vampire Slayer. That was the pull for me. We spent a ton of time trying to create satisfying arcs for all of these characters that we love so much. It’s been a labor of love. For me, doing this was about diving into a world where I get to have some control over things.
Why set it in 2013 instead of 2023?
Benson: We wanted a passage of time so there was an entrenched world where slayers existed in our world and they were everywhere — especially because we have Laya who takes audiences through this mythology. She’s like a fangirl of vampire slaying, and is on the Reddit forums. We didn’t want it so entrenched that we were so far removed from other times. We wanted that sweet spot of the world knows about this stuff, but it’s not an old hat.
What was it like getting back in the room to record with everyone?
James Marsters: We love each other so much that it was absolutely fabulous. I was just able to watch Charisma step into this role and have it make complete sense. It is so far from the Charisma that we started with years ago. It couldn’t be further, and yet, it makes absolute sense. Just her as an actor, being able to give a strong, loving, slightly world-weary, wise perspective to it, this absolutely seems like what Cordelia would be like in 2013. And I loved watching Amber take her character in a completely new direction. It absolutely makes sense, but it couldn’t be further from the Tara that we started with. And I was in awe of Juliet Landau.
And then Seth Green showed up! He’s not even in it, but he was recording something else in another booth at the building, and he heard we were in there. He comes in, and the whole thing stops. We didn’t do any work for 45 minutes because we’ve just gotta love on Seth. It was a complete love fest the whole time. We’re all in a really good place. All of our lives are going really well, so we could brag about how well we’re doing. Plus, meeting Laya DeLeon Hayes, having her fold into our family — and she’s the most experienced voice actor of all of us!
The last time you played Spike was in 2004. How did feel stepping back into it?
Marsters: I had told the producers way back when: “I’ve been doing Spike for about seven years, and if you want me to do the character, you’ve got about seven more years. I think we can get away with it for a 14-year window.” Spike is a vampire, he ain’t aging, but James is! Seven years came and went; it hadn’t happened, and I put it in the rear-view mirror. Then Amber calls me! And it was perfect.
Tara was a very important character on TV, and it was really devastating how that arc ended. Amber, can you hint at what she’s like now in this alternate universe?
Benson: She’s a very kind-hearted character, and we wanted to give her some meat. So we found a way, without spoiling anything, to give her something to sink her teeth into. We also wanted to keep the goodness of her, and it’s still in there, but we go to some darker places. And selfishly, as an actor, I wanted to work with Charisma, to do more with James, to spend time with Juliet. I have a lot of fun stuff with Juliet!
Charisma, you’ve been very vocal about your experience on Buffy. What was your reaction to getting the ask to come back into this world and bring Cordelia back? Were you hesitant at all?
Charisma Carpenter: When I got a call from Amber in 2020, I said, “You know, my friend, I would follow you anywhere. Of course, I want to be a part of it.” I didn’t know where it would end up, or certainly what medium it would be in, but it wouldn’t matter. I would just do it because I trust her vision. I trust her and I respect her talent as a writer and creator and I just love her to pieces.
How did it feel for you to be able to give Cordelia this entirely new life?
Carpenter: I think I felt a bit lost. Because the description of Cordelia and the scenes were the world-weary, kind of doom and gloom. I’m kind of saddled with this young player that’s super excited. How do I play this embattled slayer, who’s living their purpose and sees it really as the burden that it is — taking on the big bad — and infusing that with the Cordelia from before, which is sassy and witty and pithy and all those superficial things? How do I balance them? So for me, it was such an interesting dilemma to figure out. I spent a lot of time with Christopher and Amber, stressed, going, “I don’t know what I’m doing.” I didn’t think it was possible to bring more layers to Cordelia, because I feel like she went through so much in terms of her character arc from beginning to end.
Marsters: It’s so funny because, from my perspective, you came in and effortlessly did this. It didn’t seem to be a struggle at all!
When this was announced, many referred to it as a Spike-focused series because he’s the narrator, but this universe has always been so about female empowerment. Do you guys see it that way?
Marsters: I saw that, and was like, “Oh, didn’t clock that before. I don’t think so, but OK! It’s called Slayers!”
Benson: And he came up with that name!
Marsters: Yeah, first we thought of Spike and Dru, but reading the script, that wasn’t really the thing. We have two new slayers that we haven’t had before: Cordelia and Indira. We’ve been promising the audience there’s a new slayer for a new generation. Every generation has one. We never made good on that promise. So, you had to wait — now you get two.
Benson: I think it’s a multi-pronged narrative. We have amazing Spike stuff. And he is the narrator and he takes us through this and has so many amazing arcs and relationships. The Juliet/James combo is electrifying.
Marsters: Spike is a great character, but he doesn’t encapsulate the theme. I’m in the project a lot, but what are you going to call it, Spike, the Vampire, Slayer of Vampires? It’s not the same thing. It is much more exciting to keep it focused, as it always has been, on a woman who is overcoming the challenges of life, and using a vampire demon metaphor to talk about those challenges. That’s one of the big strengths of the project since the beginning. I was glad with all the changes, all the updates and all of the surprises that we’re offering, that that kernel is kept. I would never want to get away from that.
Benson: Charisma, you should also talk about this because the “Justice for Cordelia” aspect is very important.
Charisma, please! Let’s hear it!
Carpenter: One of the most important things to me about Slayers is that it is an opportunity to give the Buffyverse fandom permission to enjoy the show, enjoy these characters again in a way that is representative of perseverance, of work ethic, of the familiar. It has really been made clear to me how much entertainment in general and the previous show and what this future show will do to provide comfort, empowerment, self-belief and reminders of our purpose. I think it will be an opportunity to give credit and justice to Tara, to Anya, to Cordelia. Because that show involved hundreds of people to make, and it wasn’t about just one person. So I feel like it’s really a beautiful thing to have this opportunity to bring her back to life — Cordelia specifically — and have her live out a very empowering life, and share her wisdom from that battle. I just feel like it’s very poetic in a lot of ways.
Spike is a bit of a controversial character, especially through the 2023 lens. Amber, how did you come to the decision to have him narrate?
Benson: No. 1, it’s always important to separate the actor from the character. And I know that James has spoken about this. He is one of the best humans, I adore James. But yeah, there is problematic stuff with the character, especially around consent. We really wanted to do something different and not live in the past. So for us, it was sort of a reinvention of the Spike character. We wanted to see more of that human and empathetic version of Spike. That was really important to us — the more James-version of Spike. He still has all the Spike bells and whistles. He’s still sexy as hell. But we also wanted to see that humanity and I think that was one of the reasons James Leary is such a big part of this. There is a humanity. James really wanted to make sure we still kept him Spike, but we updated for 2023.
Again, I know you can’t talk about the past projects here, but many of these characters weren’t there at the end — specifically Cordelia, who’d died in Angel. Are you ignoring the events of Angel completely?
Benson: We really created Slayers away from everything else. We wanted to create a world that felt familiar, but also was different — because I think putting your own stamp on something is really important. I think that’s what Chris and I wanted to do — find a way to do the things that we thought were important, some of those righting of wrongs things. That was important for us. We weren’t really looking at other versions of these worlds to draw from it really was. We tried to keep it its own unique thing.
Well, it is based on characters previously created. Was it a struggle to get permission to take ownership of these characters?
Benson: We can’t really talk about this stuff because of the strike and because also, sometimes, the creation is the creation, and the creators are totally removed. And for me, just personally, I will say this, I always had trouble going to conventions and not being honest about certain situations. And now that all of that is sort of grist for the mill, I feel this relief that I can love this world and these characters and have a little bit of a little tiny, tiny piece of ownership in them. I love this world, I love the family I have because of it. I love the fans I have in my life. A show is not always just the person that came up with a show. A show is a collaboration for us on Slayers.
Speaking broadly about ownership of creative material, it really is a collaborative media. It’s not one person. The auteur theory does not apply here. It takes a village.
Marsters: The genetic material is there because Amber breathed it. She is a fabulous writer, and Christopher Golden has been writing books in the Buffyverse for years. So it’s kind of a seamless continuum. It’s not just like a bunch of people who don’t know much about the lore or don’t care about it. There are people who’ve been involved from the beginning, in the driver’s seat.
Were there other characters or actors you wanted to bring back?
Benson: For us, the important thing is to do service to characters that maybe didn’t get the right servicing in other versions. So we really focused on that. That was really important for us.
Well, Seth Green popped in! Were there ever any talks of bringing him on?
Benson: We were talking about it, but we had such a full slate of characters that once we looked at it, we were like we can’t service everybody if you have too many characters. It was really important for us to make sure everybody had a satisfying arc. If we do multiple seasons, then we can bring in other people and give them new things to do. Seth is definitely on our list. Clare Kramer too, we would love to have Glory come and play. There’s just so many amazing characters to bring in.
Do you see this going for multiple seasons?
Benson: I would love to do more seasons. Emma Caulfield was like, “When do we do the next one?” We really would love to do more. We love the team at Audible and Audible UK. They’re all fans. They all love this world. So we would love to jump back in and do more. It’s really up to the fans!

Nathan Page & Essie Davis - ☀️🌙 Work Besties
- “The love for Phryne Fisher and her relationship with Detective Inspector Jack Robinson is kind of mind-blowingly profound. Nathan (Page) and I were treated almost like The Beatles and the kind of joy that we have created in a lot of people’s lives is really a phenomenon.” - Essie Davis
- “I think that with the rich and honest relationship that Nathan and I have built between Jack and Phryne, we have created a fantastic, lose-yourself-in-it experience.” - Essie Davis
- “[On what originally attracted him to playing the role of Jack] A number of things. I think the number one reason would be to work alongside Essie. I've worked with Essie before on stage. We did the Scottish play together at the state theater in South Australia many years ago - and ironically her husband Justin Kurzel just directed a Macbeth feature film with Michael Fassbender! - but yeah, Essie was probably number one. In the audition process, you don’t always know who’s up for what, and of prime importance is getting your casting right in order to get the chemistry right. So, because I knew Ess, when we did the final audition it was… I don’t wanna say ‘perfect’, but it was a breeze because we’re just… naughty together. And so there’s that natural chemistry. She’s an incredibly naughty, vibrant human and I’m… easily led, I guess. [laughs]” - Nathan Page
- “We had Essie and Nathan back together again doing Jack and Phryne and they just got back on that horse like they'd never left it. Their banter is great and watching them relate, you can see they really are the heart of the film. It was great having them and that chemistry back.” - Deb Cox, writer for “Miss Fisher’s Murder Mysteries” & “Crypt of Tears”
- “We always cannot stop laughing when we are together. No matter how frustrating or hard working we all had to be, it was always filled with love, joy and silliness.” - Essie Davis
- “It was pretty easy because I get to work with Essie Davis, there are no problems we love each other wonderfully so it’s so easy.” - Nathan Page
- “It’s amazing how well I feel like I know Phryne and in the creation of this, it was just a joy to step back into her shoes, and to have the delightful Nathan Page to play with…” - Essie Davis
- “I think for me personally, you whack on one of those twenties, three-piece suits, and it already corrects your posture somewhat, but the actual play that I get to do with this one [Essie] is, that’s all the joy, that’s all the gold, all the fun. And that just comes… naturally.” - Nathan Page

University was a drag, class after class, stress after stress, bill after bill. It wasn’t like the movies and it wasn’t something I wouldn’t consider doing again.
I walk through the campus towards my dorm room, hoping my roommate Nova isn’t home as I know her energy will increase my oncoming headache.
“Your home! I have a quick question and want zero judgment from you.” Nova beams, bouncing over to me as I sling my bag onto the chair beside my desk.
“Shoot” I weakly smile, hoping to have silence shortly.
“So as we both know, life is expensive and let's be real, we’re both struggling.”
I giggle slightly, nodding along with Nova, slightly intrigued by where this conversation is going.
“Anyway, I saw Tilly, you know Tilly right? The bright red hair, covered in tattoos with the tongue piercing?”
“Didn’t know she had a tongue piercing but yes I know Tilly, go on.”
“Well, she came into class with a new bag and phone and I’m talking about designer bags.”
I nod along with Nova, slipping off my shoes and looking through my wardrobe for my lounge wear.
“Anyway, I asked how she got these because only last week was she complaining about having to work three jobs to afford to live and oh my god you’re going to flip.”
“Nov, just tell me.”
“Porn, Tilly is getting paid to cum.”
I laugh covering my mouth as I lock eyes with Nova, seeing her seriousness.
“Wait really? Shit, good for her I guess.”
Nova nods as I sit across from her on my bed.
“Which brings me to my no judgment question.”
“Oh no.”
“Oh yes, we should look into it!”
“Nova, I can’t do porn.”
“Yes you can! You’re so hot, literally all the frat guys want you, you would literally be rolling in it.”
“But you know I don’t want frat guys. I wan-”
“I know, I know, you want a man that knows what he’s doing, someone with experience.” Nova mimics. “There’s a kink for that you know, it’s called a daddy kink.”
I roll my eyes at Nova, laying back on my bed and sighing.
“C’mon, it's good money.”
“Nova, I’m not recording myself for other people’s pleasure.”
“Don’t you need a car? Wouldn’t you like to be debt free? You could move to New York and own a penthouse!”
“Nova, enough.”
“Just know it's an option, I’m going to talk to Tilly about it.”
I nod in response as Nova grabs her stuff and leaves the dorm.

It had been roughly four months since Nova mentioned the porn industry and never in my life did I consider that I would walk into this world from beyond my phone screen.
Within four months I had worked with numerous adult film stars, many of them satisfying, others only just worth the paycheck.
“Ready?” Nova smiles, her skin tight velvet dress hugging her curves perfectly.
I quickly swipe the red lipstick across my lips, pouting before looking myself up and down. A black see through lace dress, a leg slit high up to my panty line, lace barely covering my boobs, not leaving much to the imagination. Not that the imagination is needed when half if not all of these people at the party have seen me naked.
“Ready.” I smile. “You know, I hate these parties, why do we need monthly parties?” Nova groans, quickly lighting a cigarette as we leave my penthouse, walking through the crisp air of New York.
“Networking, how do you think I became so big so quickly? You’ve gotta promote yourself to the big wigs, make them want you.”
Nova shakes her head, taking a long drag from her cigarette as we round the corner to the hotel, joining the line of other actors.
“I dont want to whore myself out.”
I smirk, looking at Nova as we both laugh.
We’re quickly ushered into the glamorous hotel following behind people into the marvelous ballroom. Floor to ceiling windows of the New York skyline, dimly lit corners with velvet booths. Champagne towers in various spaces, topless wait staff and music blasting through the air. The thump of bass slightly vibrates the windows and glasses.
“Ooo” Nova’s face lights up as the waiter passes us, grabbing two glasses of champagne.
“Cheers to making it out of struggleville.” Nova states, gently tapping her glass against mine.
I quickly tip the lightly bubbling liquid into my mouth, finishing the drink quickly, Nova following suit. Both of us replaced our empty glasses with a refill.
“Holy fuck.” Nova chokes on her drink as I follow her eye line, my mouth becoming dry.
Nanami Kento and Satoru Gojo walk through the crowd, talking with three men both looking fucking mouthwatering.
“They never come to these things, I have never seen these two in person, fuck they’re tall, god fucking damnit, who do I sweet talk to get with them.” Nova rambles beside me as my eyes trail over the pair.
Both men are dressed in full black suits, Nanami has yellow tinted glasses resting on the bridge of his nose and Gojo with black shades tucked into his suit pocket. Both taller in person than expected. Nanami pushes his glasses higher on his nose, my eyes fixated on his hands, god his hands.
“Y/n?”
“Sorry, uh, I was daydreaming.” Blush slightly creeps up my neck as Nova chuckles.
“I haven’t seen you blush in a while.” “Haven’t been nervous in a while.”
Nova chuckles as she goes wide eyed slightly. Quickly composing herself.
“They’re coming over.”
I look over my shoulder and see the duo walking towards us as I quickly finish my drink, hoping the liquid courage rushes through me.
“Ladies.” Gojo smiles
“Gojo, Nanami.” I smile, feeling Nova nudge my shoulder handing me a fresh glass of champagne. I thank her with my eyes, feeling my skin cover with goosebumps under the eyes of the two men, both of them drinking in my appearance, sharing a look as Nanami pushes his glasses up again.
“I didn’t expect to see you both.” Nova breaks the moments of silence between all of us as Gojo chuckles, grabbing a glass of wine from the various waiters walking around.
“Didn’t think our absence was that noticeable.” Nanami mutters as Nova giggles.
Before Nova can say anything Geto walks up behind her.
“Gentlemen.” Geto nods at them, looking at me “Y/n.” He winks, whispering into Nova’s ear as she quickly nods and gets whisked away.
‘Fuck.’
It feels like the room gets smaller and time slows as the duo in front of me share a look, both of them with a slight smirk on their lips.
“So, what changed your mind in attending?”
“When someone knocks you out of first place, you’ve got to scout the competition.” Gojo smiles, both him and Nanami stepping slightly closer to me, towering over me.
“Oh, can’t handle losing?” I smirk, Gojo licks his lips and Nanami chuckles.
“We don’t like to lose darling.” Nanami whispers, his warm breath fanning my neck, a tingle running down my spine.
“We’d like to offer you something honey.” Gojo whispers, his hand holding my hip. “A night with us, no crew, just us three.”
“Don’t break our hearts baby.” Nanami whispers, pressing a soft kiss to my cheek. Gojo’s hand caresses my hip, his warmth seeping through the sheer lace of my dress.
I open my mouth, zero words forming as I nod. Gojo tuts shaking his head.
“We need to hear you agree.”
“Tell us what you think darling.”
Both men seek my approval as I smirk.
“Yes.” I whisper, my eyes flicking between the two of them as both men smirk.
“Gojo.” Nanami states as the white haired man nods, grabbing my hand and pulling me through the crowd, Nanami with his hand on the small of my back helping to guide me.
We make it to the elevator, the three of us standing in silence, a light chatter within the lobby and the distant thump of the bass from the party filling the air.
The elevator tings as the doors open, the three of us piling as the doors slowly close. The second the doors are closed both men push me against the glass window.
“Fuck.” I whisper, Gojo’s lips on my neck as Nanami kisses along my jaw.
Nanami grabs my chin between his thumb and index finger. His eyes lingering on my lips.
“Baby, you won’t be the same after us.”
“I’m counting on it.” I whisper as Nanami smiles, his tongue dragging along his bottom lip before our lips crash against each other. I moan into the kiss, Gojo sucking on my neck, his hand grabbing a handful of my ass.
Nanami pulls away from me as Gojo cups my cheek, bringing our lips together. His tongue fighting against mine, his kiss rougher than Nanami’s.
The elevator dings, both men pulling away from me as my chest rises and falls quickly. My brain is trying to fathom what’s about to happen.
Halfway down the hall, Nanami unzips my dress, his fingers lightly tracing my back as wetness continues to pool between my thighs, my pussy aching.
Gojo unlocks the door as Nanami slips my dress down my arms. The door clicking shut as my dress pools at my heels.
Both men stand and look at me, the only light coming from the city below. My skin feels hot, blush creeping up my neck as their eyes foam up and down my body. My thin G-string barely covered me from their gaze.
“God.” Nanami groans, loosening his tie as Gojo undoes his belt.
I bend down to undo my heels causing Gojo to stop me.
“We want them left on baby girl.”
“We’re sure you paid enough for them.” Nanami states, his jacket being folded neatly and draped over the couch, his body beside me as he trails his fingers up my side. My breath hitches as Gojo walks out of the room.
Before I can question his absence, he walks back into the room, a camera in his hand. Butterflies erupt inside of me as Gojo flicks on a soft warm light, getting the camera at the right angle of the couch right by the city scape.
“We don’t want a crew to be watching us, everyone hearing the sounds you make for us.”
“We want you to forget the camera exists, the bright lights and the sound crew.”
“We want you on our platform, our girl.”
Their words are like honey, smooth and sweet. The butterflies and goosebumps swarming all over me.
“Let me be yours.”
“Music to our ears princess.” Gojo smirks, quickly ridding himself of his clothes, Nanami following suit.
Gojo wraps his hand around my neck, pulling me closer to him as our lips crash together. His hands roam my body, his finger hooks into my G-string and flicks it against my skin. I moan into his mouth, a gasp falls from my lips as Nanami’s hand cups my pussy. A low groan filling the air.
“You’re soaked, fuck Gojo she’s dripping.”
My moans fill the air as Gojo pulls away from me, his piercing blue eyes focusing on Nanami’s hand, watching his fingers rub my swollen clit through my panties.
“Good girl.” Gojo praises, kissing the side of my head. I run my hand down Gojo’s toned chest, softly digging my nails into his skin, causing a low sigh to fall from his lips. I trace his clothed cock, watching him bite his lip before I slip my hand into his boxer briefs. “Fuck Nanami.” I gasp, his fingers slipping past my panties and pinching my clit.
“Lay down baby, let us take care of you.”
I lay on the soft couch, my head on the arm rest as Gojo comes to stand above me, Nanami moves my legs, hooking one over the back of the couch, spreading my pussy for his eyes.
“Perfect, more perfect than the camera could ever capture.”
I blush at Nanami’s words, looking up at Gojo, his cock springing free.
My lips part, shocked by his size.
“You can take it darling.” I open my mouth at Gojo’s words, a smirk on his lips as my tongue traces the tip of his cock.
“Fuck daddy” I moan, looking down at Nanami, his tongue slowly dragging up and down my slit, sucking my clit between licks. Nanami moans against my pussy.
“Keep calling me that.” He whispers before continuing to trace my clit with his tongue.
“Darling.” Gojo whispers, his hand holding under my chin, tilting my head back. “I know Kento is good, but daddy needs attention.”
I nod, using my hand to guide Gojo’s cock into my mouth, pumping whatever I can’t fit. Circling my tongue around his dick, hollowing out my cheeks, his cock falling past my lips with a ‘pop’.
“You’re good at that darling, don’t stop.”
I moan around Gojo’s cock his hand caressing my cheek, soft moans filling the air.
My free hand grips Nanami’s hair, tugging at the strands causing a groan to vibrate against me.
“We should have fucked you sooner.” Nanami whispers, blowing against my warm pussy, my legs shaking with a tingle. My back arches, his fingers slipping inside of me, slowly pumping in and out, curling up inside of me.
“Y/n, god baby you’re tight.”
I smirk at Nanami’s words, popping Gojo’s cock past my lips and pumping him faster.
“All yours, only for you.”
Nanami and Gojo chuckle.
“You’re eager to please us honey.”
I blush at Gojo’s words, watching as he pulls away from me, him and Nanami swapping places.
Nanami leans over me, his lips connecting with mine as I taste myself on his tongue. Both of us moaning into the kiss, his fingers dancing across my collar bone, his hands cupping my boobs.
“God Yes!” I scream, Gojo slipping inside of me, his cock stretching my pussy as Nanami rolls my nipples between his thumb and index finger.
“Fuck honey, no wonder your number one.”
I giggle at Gojo’s words, swiping my tongue around Nanami’s cock, his hand moving from my breast to my throat, softly applying pressure as he thrusts in and out of my throat. My eyes roll backwards, the sounds of our moans filling the air, the scent of sex flowing through the room.
“Good girl, you’re taking us so well.”
“Uh huh” I moan in agreement, Gojo’s thumb brushes against my clit, rubbing in fast circles.
“C’mon baby, daddy wants you to cover his cock.”
“Go on darling, cum for Gojo.”
I drag my nails up Nanami’s chest, his cock thrusting in and out of my mouth, my tongue swirling around him. Gojo rubs my clit faster, his thrusts dragging out of me slowly and thrusting into me harshly.
I dig my nails into Nanami’s abs, his groan filling the air as I hollow out my cheeks around his cock. My back arching and legs slightly shake.
“Just like that baby, that’s a good girl, cum for me.”
Nanami slips past my lips, my scream of pleasure filling the air.
“Fuckkkk.”
My body jolts, my pussy tightening around Gojo causing him to hiss.
“Just like that baby.” Gojo gently rubs my clit, his thrusts slowing.
“You’re such a good girl for us princess.” Nanami whispers.
I hum in response, blissed out as I feel the couch dip, Gojo and Nanami switching places.
Nanami grabs me by my hips, pulling me up to straddle his waist, his lips connecting with mine. Our tongues swirl against each other, his hands grabbing my ass, spanking each cheek.
I feel Gojo’s hand caress my cheek, my lips pulling away from Nanami’s. I smile up at Gojo, his thumb brushing against my bottom lip dragging it down as my mouth falls open slightly. I take Gojo’s thumb into my mouth, sucking and swirling my tongue as Nanami runs his cock up and down my slit.
My head tilts back, a moan falling from my lips as I gasp at Nanami’s size, his cock stretching my walls, slightly thicker than Gojo.
“God Nanami.”
“Mm, fuck you’re so wet and tight.” Nanami whispers, his teeth pulling on my ear lobe as Gojo holds my chin, his eyes locking with mine as his friend thrusts in and out of me, his hands holding my ass guiding my hips back and forth.
“You take cock so well baby.”
I smirk at Gojo’s words, leaning to the side of Nanami and tracing my tongue along Gojo’s cock.
Gojo’s fingers run through my hair, pulling it into a makeshift ponytail. Our eyes lock together as I use the rhythm from Nanami to bop my mouth up and down on Gojo.
Nanami wraps his hand around my throat, applying slight pressure causing my eyes to water and a gag to fall around Gojo’s cock.
“Huh, are you cryin’?” Gojo taunts a cocky smirk on his lips.
“Struggling to take both of us?” Nanami grunts.
I moan in protest, feeling completely full and blissed out.
“By the way her pussy is gripping me, I think she likes it.”
“Oh she fucking loves it.” Gojo states, thrusting his cock deeper down my throat as tears prick my eyes.
I pull off Gojo, my chest rising and falling as my nails dig into Nanami’s shoulders.
“God, I’m close.”
Nanami moan’s against my ear, his hand slipping between us as he rubs my clit in fast circles.
My moans fill the air, my hand pumping Gojo’s cock fast, my thumb brushing over the tip of his cock with every second stroke. Gojo runs a hand through his hair, tilting his head back, his loud moans complimenting mine.
“Just like that baby.”
“You feel so good.” Nanami moans, his head resting on the back of the couch, his fingers digging into my hips, his thrusts speeding up.
“I’m cumming!” I moan, my pussy clenching around Nanami, my hand speeding up on Gojo’s cock. “Fuck, fuck, fuck, don’t stop.”
Gojo’s fingers slip into my hair, his hand pulls my head back causing my mouth to fall open as I stick my tongue out.
“Such a good girl.” Gojo smiles, pumping his cock against my tongue, hot bursts of cum covering my taste buds.
My eyes roll back, feeling Nanami’s cum shoot inside of me, coating my walls as I swallow Gojo’s release.
Gojo leans against the couch, resting on his hands, all of us taking a moment.
Savoring our time together.
I slowly lift myself off Nanami’s cock, both of us wincing at the loss of contact. I sit beside Nanami on the couch, Gojo leaning down and pressing a kiss to the top of my head before walking over to the camera and stopping the video.
“I hope you know we’re making this a monthly thing.”
“Oh really?” I ask, raising an eyebrow at Gojo’s comment.
Nanami’s hand falls to my thigh, running his finger tips up and down, a soft smile on his lips.
“But we won’t film everytime.”
“Mm, I’d love that.”
“Wait.” I quickly stand up, my legs shaky as I search through our clothing, finding my phone and sitting on the couch with Nanami. Gojo smiles, walking over to the two of us standing behind the couch. I aim the camera at the three of us, Gojo’s lips on my neck, Nanami’s hand around my throat as his lips whisper against my ear.
“Show off.”
I smirk, taking a quick picture and showing the two of them. I quickly uploaded the photo to my instagram and twitter with the caption.
‘Champagne never tasted so good.’

I got back into Undertale/Deltarune recently and apparently people now think Kris isn’t the knight.
What happened exactly?
(Originally I had my evidence compiled in the reblogs but I’ve simplified it and put it here)
Orange: Catagories
Red: Hypothetical Debunks
Blue: I am confident in this evidence
Green: I am mostly confident in this evidence
Pink: Completely baseless but possible
(Best Evidence)
Kris is the only person we’ve seen creating a dark fountain.
Kris sleeps during the entire class in chapter 2, which means they were up for a while that night. [creating the fountain]
(Foreshadowing)
Kris is dressed as a knight in The Dark World.
The images that Queen displays during her speech near the end of chapter 2 are of a knife creating the dark fountain.
(Miscellaneous Evidence)
Toby Fox (discussing LIVE A LIVE) said this:
Tumblr media
I don’t know anything about LIVE A LIVE but I think this is very good evidence (I think the entire screenshot is important, but the underlined sentence is what initially piqued my interest.)
(Debunking the Debunks)
“Kris just wanted some pie.”
They were clearly in extreme pain when pulling out the soul, and as much of a gremlin as Kris is, doing that just for the pie is excessive.
If all they did was eat the pie that night then they shouldn’t be THAT sleepy. It probably took a while to eat but was it enough time to make Kris tired enough to sleep through the entire class? I doubt it… (This has no evidence as far as I’m aware, but perhaps removing your soul and/or creating a dark fountain uses a lot of energy.)
“Kris couldn’t have made it to the library within the night at their pace.”
I tested this in game. I tried to match the cutscene Kris’ pace to the best I could. It took me 3:10 mins to get from the center of the bedroom to the computer lab door. Let’s say I was going too fast, so we’ll double that time. 6:20 minutes to get to the library. The trip back would take around the same time so double that again, 12:40. Plenty of time. (Although I think we’re supposed to believe it took a lot longer)
At the end of chapter 3 the fountain doesn’t immediately create a dark world, so it’s likely Kris could’ve left the library before the Cyber World was opened.
“How did nobody see them going to the library?”
It’s the middle of the night so most people are probably asleep.
The townspeople don’t know much about humans and Kris is already considered weird so if they saw them they’d probably think this is a normal human thing or just Kris being Kris.
“How would Kris get into the library in the middle of the night?”
Undyne and Alphys both talk about how there’s never any crime. People probably feel safe enough to not lock the doors of their businesses at night.
In fact, the school is a great example of this! Even after the school day is over the doors are still unlocked.
Just because the answer is the most obvious, doesn’t mean it’s wrong.

Ash nearly faints
Take a shot of water every time I say water in this excerpt
Argument between Rose and Maddie
Gwen meets Akash
Find - from The Secret Portal Part One (Ash POV)
I felt like collapsing in a cluster of red ferns by the time I reached the trees. Soon, I was using the trunks to hold myself up. A sudden ringing in my ears made my head feel like it split open. I let out a cry as I pressed my fingers to my forehead. I heard a little girl screaming. I tried to find the origin of the sound, but I found no one. The screaming didn’t stop. I kept going forward, covering my ears, trying to make it go away. I collapsed on the ground in a patch of violet-colored flowers, curling into a ball. My head spun as I stared at the petals. They weren’t like any other flower I’d seen. Their purple color was so vibrant, I debated its existence. There were three layers of tear-shaped petals swirling around the center, creating a dizzying spiral. I closed my eyes; the petals were making me sicker. Slowly, the screaming stopped. My vision cleared. I shook my head and pulled myself up and rested my body on the nearest tree trunk. I closed and opened my eyes slowly as the world slowly came back into focus. What just happened? Who was that?
Water - from The Secret Portal Part One (Ash POV)
I entered the kitchen, pushing off the wall so I could rummage through the cabinet. I pulled out a glass and filled it with water from the fridge. I guzzled the water but almost spit it out. As soon as the water graced my lips, a sudden blue light flashed in front of me. Shaking it off as an effect of the devices, I refilled the glass to the brim. The blue lights happened again. During the third refill, my eyes rested on the time, a small light on the fridge. It was six am. There was no way I used the devices before even two. And there was no way that vision took more than five minutes. “Shit!” I hissed as my shock caused the water to spill over the glass. I guzzled the water again before grabbing a towel to clean up my mess. Once I did, I stood back up, tossed the towel on the counter, and looked at the clock again. I sighed. I wasn't sure what I was going to do in the remaining time that I had before everyone else awoke.
Did you take the shots of water? Do you have to pee yet?
Star - from The Secret Portal Part One (Maddie POV)
“What’s happening?” Rose murmured. “You lead us through a death portal,” I muttered, joking slightly. Rose swiveled her head toward me. “Excuse me? You were the one who had a mental breakdown when Lexi didn’t answer her damn phone!” “Well, Lexi and Ash ended up here, so I had the right idea,” I said, not sure why she was mad. “Fine. You were right. Gold star.” Rose glared down at me. “And don’t blame me for what happened to Noelle.” “It’s partially my fault,” I said, lightly pushing her away from my face. “I suggested Lexi's disappearance, but you led us here, so a bit of yours, too.” Rose stepped toward me again. “This. Is not. My fault.” “I said it’s partially my fault,” I insisted, pushing her away again. She pushed me back this time, which irritated me. I only pushed her because she was in my face. “Why don’t you admit you’re partially responsible for Noelle’s injury?” I pushed in retaliation this time. “We’re gonna get her to a hospital, and then we’re gonna look for my sister, who you seem to have forgotten about because you’re too wrapped in yourself to care if Lexi’s okay.” I bit my tongue. That wasn't a good thing to say. I wasn't sure where it came from. Rose’s jaw clenched. She lifted her fist—I thought she would push me again, but she just jabbed me with her finger on every word— “Don’t. Ever. Say. I don’t care about Lexi. She means more to me than you could imagine.” “I’m her sister,” I pointed out. “How could you—” I poked her back— “imagine how much she means to me?” Rose took a step back. She looked down at her feet for a second. I did the same. Gwen pointed out I was arguing earlier when I didn’t mean to, which sometimes happened to me. Arguing wasn’t gonna get Lexi—or Ash—back, and it wasn't gonna get Noelle to a hospital either. I wondered if Rose would hate me forever after this.
Fly - from The Secret Portal Part One (Gwen POV)
My left foot slammed into a vent cover, knocking me off balance and causing my butt to slam against the cover, knocking it off. I fell through the hole and somehow managed to grab the edges of the vent. I heard the cover crash onto the floor below me as I dangled from the ceiling. “Hey, who’re you?” a voice said. I looked around, trying to find the owner of the voice when my eyes finally rested on a boy. He was probably a year or so older than me with dark brown skin. He had short and spiky hair and his ears stuck out a little. He wore a yellow polo t-shit over a long-sleeved white shirt and dark-blue jeans. It took a moment to realize the boy was at eye level while I hung from the ceiling. I looked down and saw the boy’s feet were a good ten feet from the ground. He was floating. “Who are you?” the boy repeated. I looked back up. I realized he was kinda cute. Even with the messy bedhead. “Um, Gwen.” “Akash,” he said. Actually, especially with the messy bedhead. I realized I was staring when Akash smiled. “You’re new around here, aren’t you?” When I didn’t answer, he added, “You want me to help you down?” I nodded, and Akash wrapped his arm around me. I flinched slightly—a cute boy was touching me!—but allowed him to do so. I let go of the vent and let him fly me to the floor. I suddenly realized I had wrapped my arms around him. I quickly pushed away from him. “Thanks,” I muttered. I glanced off to the side and panic ran through me when I noticed a bed. I could feel my cheeks turning red. I just fell into a cute boy’s room! As if I wasn’t embarrassed enough.

Artificial
“-and the award goes to….Donnie!”
Donatello smirks as he stands up, beginning to walk over to the stage. He carefully fixed the collar of the white shirt under his black suit and purple tie.
He was completely prepared for this. It was just obvious he’d win. The cheering all around him was still music to his ears though.
Reaching the podium, the award was draped around his neck in the form of a medal.
The national medal of technology and innovation.
He pivots back towards the crowd and speaks into the microphone.
“Esteemed guests and colleagues, I stand before you to receive yet another very well deserved award. This probably comes as no surprise to you all at this point, but I appreciate it nonetheless. My achievements are so impressive, I took the liberty of bringing them here with me! Behold!”
With a wave of his hand, the nearby curtain drops and reveals three color coded robots.
The blue robot poses dramatically.
The red robot has his arms folded over each other but smiles proudly.
The orange robot waves enthusiastically.
The crowd cheers louder. Donnie’s smirk only gets bigger.
“As incredibly amazing as my work is, I do have to credit the people I based them off of, my-“
The smirk is wiped completely off his face. The only person he knew in the crowd was April. His other family members were nowhere to be seen.
“….brothers? Where are they?”
“We’re right here, Dontron!” The blue robot leans over.
“You are not my brothers. While I did have this idea as a backup plan, that was only for emergencies! You’re not the originals.”
“Of course we are! You built the perfect family!” The orange robot chirps happily.
“Come on Dee, you’re supposed to show us off. This is your time to shine!” The red robot insists.
“What is this? What’s going on here!?” Donnie begins patting around his pockets to try to find his folded up tech bō.
The blue robot walks over to him.
“Big bro, you need to chill. You’re kind of bumming the mood of your own award ceremony. How about we just go home and watch Lou Jitsu? We can watch Punch Chowder, eat some pepperoni pizza, what do you say?”
Donnie stills for a moment.
“I have just one thing to say.”
“Yeah? What-“
The robot gets a bō to the side of the head that sends it flying into the curtain, pulling it down with him.
Everything starts becoming pixelated and glitchy around the area the robots were. It spreads terrifyingly quickly. He only has time to scream before it reaches him.
He finds himself screaming into darkness. He can feel something on his face.
His hand reaches up and throws it off. It hits the wall and breaks. It seemed to be some kind of headset.
That’s when he realizes several things.
One: He wasn’t alone.
Two: He wasn’t as young as he thought he was.
The headset had messed with his head. In that dream, or more accurately that probably artificially created scenario, he was 16.
He was about twice that age now.
That was very apparent from seeing his brothers also in this small room.
They were slumped over with headsets similar to the now broken one on the ground.
Obviously, they had all aged as well.
The other things he noticed became more apparent as he got his bearings.
Three: He was desperately thirsty, hungry, and his body felt like it hadn’t moved in ages.
From this, it could be concluded that the warped reality had him under for much longer than he thought.
He rushes over to try to take the headsets off his brothers, seeing their lips chapped made them situation all the more urgent.
Who knows if they had been there longer than him?
A strong jolt of electricity has him yoink his hand back in pain.
“Dammit! I can’t get them off….how did I free myself?” He picks up a piece of his broken helmet.
There’s a quiet hiss from himself as he notices the Purple Dragon symbol.
It was Purple Dragon and not Dragons ever since Kendra’s friends left her. An inevitably considering how she treated them.
She was going to pay for this all the same.
There were traces of purple, a different kind of purple, on the headset as well. That extra purple was his own ninpo.
It must have short circuited it.
He drops the piece back on the floor. If he woke himself up, then his brothers would have to too.
But that wasn’t something he could or would want to wait on. It might not even happen. He could have just gotten lucky.
Looking at his brothers, he wonders who he should try to help first.
His eyes land on Leo.
There’s a soft ache in his heart. The last time they saw each other, it didn’t end very well.
If he saved him he might be able to hold it over his head enough for them to have a proper conversation.
And if he was being honest, which he wasn’t, not even to himself, Leo usually had good strategies in situations like these.
He sits down next to him and closes his eyes.
Entering a mind meld again after so many years was an odd experience. That was especially true because of what the headset was doing to Leo’s mind in the first place.
There was some disorientation as he not so gracefully landed on some carpeting. Glancing around, it’s clear that he’s wound up in a random house.
He stands up, rubbing his now sore lower shell.
“What could you possibly want that has to do with a house like this, ‘Nardo?” He mumbles to himself.
Donnie begins to walk around to try to find him.
Sounds coming from nearby lead him into a living room. The couch in there obstructed the view of the two people sitting on it.
They were unfamiliar.
Their voices weren’t.
“Leo, stop it! I know you’re cheating!“
“Me!? You’ve been cheating from the start! This is just my revenge!”
He frowns.
This was a conversation they had while gaming plenty of times. One he hasn’t heard in years.
When was the last time he even talked to him?
“You think that’s enough to win against me? That doesn’t even scrap the surface of my genius ideas!”
God, is this what Leo thinks he sounds like?
“Oh yeah? What else could you possibly have left?”
“This. Oh look at that! Shove.”
Leo gets shoved off the couch.
Okay, maybe that was fair.
Leo was younger here as expected, but also….human. So was the artificial version of himself.
He stares straight at him and gets no sign that Leo can see him.
This would be complicated.
This also isn’t exactly what he was prepared for.
Why was Leo’s perfect world one where they aren’t turtles anymore?
“Cheap shot! Come here!” Leo lunges towards the fake Donnie.
They roll around fighting until the front door opens.
“Guys! We’re home! I got first place at the art exhibition!” Mikey calls out.
Leo shoots straight up, blonde hair messed up by the fight.
“Ha! Told you! I knew you’d win!”
He drops out of view as artificial Donnie pops up instead.
“Mazel. Put your trophy in the case so I can put it in my achievement data.”
“You’ll have to add mine too! Got a plaque from the animal shelter for employee of the month.”
Leo goes back into view.
“Woah, 3rd month in a row Raph. You should be running the place by now.”
Original Donnie walks over to the largest trophy case he’s ever seen in his life. It was not practical by any means.
There were tons of trophies lining the shelves. He expected a lot of them to be Leo’s, but they surprisingly were divided just about evenly among them.
Mikey and Raph place their awards inside. Artificial Donnie inputs the information into a tablet while Leo pats Mikey and Raph’s shoulders in congratulations.
“Boys! Are you home? I brought dinner!” A voice shouts from the kitchen.
Ordinal Donnie’s blood runs cold.
He should have seen this coming.
“Coming, dad!” Leo responds before running to the kitchen.
The artificial brothers follow, as does original Donnie once he’s able to get a hold of himself.
Everyone sat around the table while a human version of their father places takeout on it.
Splinter.
He looks exactly like Lou Jitsu in his prime here.
Oh gods, it’s been so long.
He misses him so much.
Of course Leo would have him here.
“Papa, did you film that scene with the seven deadly vipers move today?” Artificial Donnie asks.
“I did! You should have seen Chad’s face when they sent him in as the stunt double, hehe. Enough about my day, I heard the trophy cabinet opening. Tell me who got what.”
Raph and Mikey happily talk about their accomplishments as the four of them all eat.
Original Donnie felt worse the longer he was there.
He was the only one aware that it wasn’t like this.
That it could never be like this.
He watched as Splinter turned his attention towards Leo and artificial Donnie, praising them for things he had heard about happening earlier in the week.
A good basketball match, an exemplarily grade on a math test.
Jealousy bubbled up inside him as this fake father pat the him that wasn’t him’s head.
The mention of pride broke him.
He slams his hands on the table, purple ninpo dancing across his arms.
“This isn’t your life, dumb dumb!”
The artificial family and Leo finally see him and have looks of fear.
“Who’s that!?” Mikey screams.
“Kids, get behind me!”
“Dad, no! I’ve got this!” Leo insists.
Crap.
Well, if there was one thing that might be able to break Leo out of this, it would be a major shock.
Possibly.
He didn’t have many data points to work with.
Original Donnie leaps over the dinner table and grabs his artificial self.
He didn’t have it in him to hurt the fake Splinter.
“No! Stop! Leave him alone!” Leo shouts, grabbing his plate and throwing it at original Donnie.
Donnie easily deflects it, shattering the plate.
“If you want to save your real brothers, you have to wake up, Leo!”
“What are you even talking about!? Just let him go! Please! You….you can have me instead if you want, okay!? He’s a nerd! You don’t want him!”
“This is the only way.” Donnie slams artificial Donnie’s head into the table.
Leo screams and jumps at him.
After some glitching and pixelating, it’s suddenly the real Leo that’s tackled him.
His hands are around his neck as the pieces of the headset crumble all around him. There’s tears dripping down his face.
“You hurt my brother!”
“I-Idiot! I am your brother!” Donnie struggles.
Leo’s expression takes a second to change, but when it does he finally releases his grip on Donnie’s throat.
Donnie takes in a big breathe and then tries to get said breathing under control.
Leo lifts him up, hugging him tightly.
“Donnie! You glorious nerd, I thought something happened to you!”
Donnie quickly takes the opportunity to hug him back just as tight.
He knew it wouldn’t last very long.
“Leo. I’m sorry, okay? Please just listen to me.”
“Huh? Of course, why wouldn’t I-“
The disorientation finally fades away and Leo let’s him go.
“Oh.”
“Leo, I didn’t mean any of it.”
Leo looks anywhere but him, which let’s him see Raph and Mikey still unconscious.
“Did you do this? Did you bring us all here?”
“No! It was Kendra, I don’t know why, but I know how to fix it.”
“Then why would we waste time having a conversation!? Help them, Donnie!”
“Because if we don’t talk now you’re going to leave the moment this is all handled!”
“Oh, I’m going to leave!? That’s hilarious! Dad did always say you were the funniest, didn’t he!?”
“Leo-“
“The funniest thing you ever did was say you were getting some air at the funeral and not coming back!”
“I didn’t-“
“Or maybe it was even funnier when I found your room empty! Just hilarious! I was venting to a door with no one on the other side! Perfect time to make me look like an idiot!”
“That wasn’t my-“
“No no, it was actually comedy goal when I managed to find you and I was so so happy I did. It was when you told me that if I needed something I could just ask the robot you left behind. It was when you refused to come back with me and said to consider you gone too! That’s it!”
Donnie looks down in shame.
“I didn’t know how to handle how I felt. You had everyone else. It’s not like I left you alone.”
“I only had Raph and Mikey for a few more years! We all split off because we weren’t whole anymore! Did you think I was okay!? With you gone I had to pretend so hard I was because I wanted to help Mikey keep us together! Mikey of all people gave up, Raph gave up! I failed as a leader! And you weren’t there!”
“I already told you I’m sorry! What do you want me to do to have you forgive me!? Whatever it is I’ll do it!”
“I want you to act like it was a tough decision to leave me behind! To leave all of us behind! I want you to lie and say you missed me! Missed our family!”
“You think it wasn’t hard for me….?”
“You didn’t hesitate! You had no emotion on your face! You snubbed me that whole last conversation we had!”
Leo’s face softens as he sees Donnie shaking.
“I’ve never regretted something more in my life! I do miss you! I miss you and Raph and Mikey and I miss dad! I threw myself into years and years of inventing and hiding and any distraction I could get my hands on! By the time I snapped out of it….I felt like it was too late. You all moved on. I didn’t deserve to talk to you again after what I did. Even now I hoped being the one to save you was enough for….something! Anything! I…I….am pathetic.”
“…..Yeah, you’re pathetic….”
Donnie breathes shakily.
“Let it all out, I guess-“
Leo once again clings to him.
“But so am I. I love you, Donnie, even if you’re the dumbest genius I know. I’m so pissed….and even if you had come back earlier I still would have been. But I will always let you come back.”
Donnie returns the clinging and presses his face into Leo’s shoulder, quietly sobbing.
They continue holding onto each other until they finally feel they can let go.
Donnie wipes his eyes.
“I used a mind meld and ninpo to bring you out of it. You couldn’t tell I was there until my ninpo activated. I had to make you activate yours too to break the headset.”
“So that’s how we can save Raph and Mikey.”
“Yes, but we have another problem.”
“What is it?”
“Judging by the light from the one window in this room, the small amount of time I spent in your artificial prison was actually a few hours.”
“We don’t have that much time to save them then. I’ll help Raph while you help Mikey. Afterwards, we find a way to escape.”
“I have to admit, hearing you lead again is somewhat strange.”
Leo chuckles softly.
“Maybe if you had left an address for me to send Christmas cards to, I could have let you know that I’ve got new guys I’m helping out. Nothing like we were doing, but….helping with a yokai theatre camp in my spare time is still something.”
“I’d….like to hear more when we have time. Truly.” Donnie smiles softly.
Leo smiles back.
“I’m going to hold you to that. Now let’s get to saving them so we can hold it over their heads forever.”
Donnie nods.
They sit down next to their brothers and begin their mind melds.
Hopefully, it wouldn’t be too late.

The first thing that flashes through her mind when she wakes up is Yelena with the kiss quickly following suit. Pulling the covers over her head, she creates a bubble to ignore the world around her. What the actual fuck did she get herself into?
She isn’t allowed much peace when her phone goes off. Jessica made sure that she had her own ringtone almost immediately after they met, claiming that she was just that special when it was really because she wanted to make sure Sunny always answered her calls.
“Hey girl hey!” She cheers through the speaker phone.
“What?”
“Ouch, what crawled up your ass and died?” “It’s been a long night. What’s up?” Jessica stays silent for a few seconds, debating whether or not to reveal her secret, “Well remember how I said that I wasn’t going to get back with Peter?” “I swear to god if the next thing you say is ‘surprise, we’re back together’, I’ll literally lose my shit.”
“Ye have little faith. No I didn’t get back with Peter but you also didn’t let me finish. I’m going out with one of Yelena’s friends Friday and I would love if you could help me get ready for it.”
“Who is it?”
“You don’t know them.”
“No shit,” Sunny says while pushing the blankets off so she can breath fresh air, “What’s their name?”
“Natasha.” “Oh a girl? I thought you didn’t like girls.”
Shuffling is heard from the other side, no doubt as a result of Jessica flopping onto her stomach on her bed, “I said I wished that I was so I figured why not give it a try? What’s the worst that can happen?”
“You lead her on and she gets hurt.”
“I would never do such a thing. I’m always honest about my feelings even if it hurts a person which reminds me, why is Yelena sulking?” “I’m going to need more info than that,” she huffs when the woman in question appears on her fire escape.
“She’s been such a downer lately and I have a sneaking suspicion it has something to do with Mr. Sexy.”
“Why would I know the answer to that?”
“Because you’re like all she talks about.”
Sunny glances over at Yelena who is leaning against the window now, examining her nails and pretending that she can’t hear their conversation.
“That’s interesting but no I don’t know and I have to go. Bye, love you.”
Jessica sputters in confusion at her quick hang up but manages to sneak in a “love you too bitch”.
“I’m not sulking.”
“I didn’t say that,” Sunny says, pulling her blanket back over her shoulders, “why are you here?”
“Ouch,” Yelena fakes being offended and drops herself onto the bed next to her, “You aren’t even a little bit excited to see me?”
“I didn’t mean it like that… It's been a long few days.”
“Want to talk about it?”
She shrugs her shoulders and lets out a long sigh, “Not really. You still haven’t told me why you’re here.”
“Checking on you, making sure you haven’t committed any crimes.”
“You’ll be the first person I call if I get arrested.”
“I’m honored that you’d call me before Bucky.”
“Well he would probably lose it on the entire police station so…”
“You could’ve just said “Yes Yelena. I would call you first because I like you a lot more than that douche bag.” I would’ve taken that.”
“Yes Yelena I would call you first because I like you WAY more than that man.”
Yelena’s face goes blank as she says, “Were you thinking about me when you kissed him?”
Tumblr media
Jessica groans as someone pounds on her apartment door. The smell of wet dog invades her living room as the pounding grows louder and the person responsible grows less patient.
“Jessica open the fucking door!”
“What are you doing? Are you trying to get the cops called?” she hisses at Alix who is soaking wet from the heavy rainfall outside. Alix goes to reprimand her for speaking to her pack leader that way but Jessica yanks her inside.
“Stay here. I don’t want water and wet dog all over everything,” she tells Alix as she disappears to find towels and extra clothes.
The sound of wet clothes dropping onto her floor comes from the living room and as she walks back in, she finds Alix in just her tank top and underwear, her jeans and zip up on the ground around her.
“Give me that,” she demands, snatching the towel out of Jessica’s hands and starts to dry off her body and braids, “What do you have on the Strigoi?”
“Nothing like I told you last night. Y/N isn’t saying anything and I can’t get close enough to anyone else.”
“What about Peter?”
“Ghosted me.”
Alix raises one eyebrow, “What did you do?”
“Why do you assume I did something?” “Because you always do.”
Jessica wrinkles her nose at the insult, “I may have slapped a girl he was kissing.”
Alix stops wringing out her braids and closes her eyes while taking a deep breath, “Your only job is to keep tabs on Bucky and his group. How the fuck did you manage to mess that up?”
“No no you said to watch Y/N and to TRY and keep tabs on the others. I am doing my job just not the side tasks.” A growl rings through the small apartment, “So help me God, Jessica. The more you act out, the more likely your cover is going to be blown. Speaking of which, who knows about you?” “Peter and Yelena obviously but Y/N doesn’t.”
“Has anyone brought it up?” “Peter did but only to ask if it’s true that I turn into a wolf every full moon. I don’t think Yelena cares and Bucky or Steve don’t come in enough to notice.”
“We both know that Yelena cares but is just waiting to see what happens. What about Peggy?”
Jessica shrugs, “I don’t answer the door so I’m assuming not.”
Alix rolls her eyes before tossing the towel back at Jessica and brushes past her to raid her closet for dry clothes.
“How close are you to going through with the plan?” she calls out.
Jessica hums for a second, thinking about her progress, “It’s going to take longer than I thought. Y/N isn’t telling me anything so I can’t tell what’s going on with Bucky or Yelena.”
“But she’s close enough to them though?”
“Kinda. Juliette, that dumbass, had a meeting with him and Steve at the restaurant that we were at and she saw, assumed they were a couple, and dipped. She did go out with Yelena but I don’t think she’s going to give him the time of day again.”
Alix comes back out wearing some of Sunny’s clothes that she had left behind during late nights. She takes a seat on the couch, fully leaning back into the plush cushions, “I don’t really care who she gets close to as long as it’s one of them. All we need is an opening to take out the Rogers and Bucky so we can get her back to Fresno where she belongs.”
“Do you really think that’s going to work?” Alix’s eyes flash gold like they usually do when she’s angry, “Of course it is. She belongs to me. Taking out those bloodsuckers, who mind you have been trying to kill me for years, is just a welcomed side effect of bringing her home.”
Jessica rolls her eyes while taking her phone out to scroll aimlessly on tiktok.
“Did you send the text that I asked?”
“Yes.”
Tumblr media
Sunny goes still under her blanket and feels Yelena watching her every move, awaiting her answer.
“How did you know?” “Aside from the fact that I can smell him everywhere, especially on you, a little birdy told me.”
“I’m sorry.”
Yelena scoffs and shakes her head in disbelief, “I should’ve known better honestly. He always does this.”
Sunny pushes off her blanket and sits up, “I’m really sorry. I didn’t mean for it to happen, it just did.” “I don’t want to hear it. It happened and you can’t take it back,” Yelena sighs as she stands and puts distance between them, “I hate to do this but I feel like I don’t have a choice; him or me.”
“You obviously.”
“See I don’t believe you.”
“I promise, it’s you. Whatever I need to do to prove that it’s you, I’ll do it”
Yelena backs away as Sunny stands and tries to get closer. They give each other hurt looks as the other continues to damage the relationship.
“I don’t believe you or trust him for that matter. Nothing could make me believe that Bucky wouldn’t try and pull something. I won’t be put through that. I’m sorry but I’ll get Bucky to find someone else to watch over you,” Yelena says over her shoulder before slipping back out the window and leaving Sunny fuming.
She wants to scream at the top of her lungs but she can’t risk her neighbors calling the cops so she settles for screaming into her pillow. Her phone distracts her and she’s scrambling to answer it but freezes when she sees that it’s Bucky.
“Bucky what the fuck?” she growls into her phone.
“Well hello gorgeous, how are you?”
“Fuck off what did you do?”
“You’re going to have to be more specific, what are you talking about?” “You told Yelena that we kissed.”
“No I definitely did not.” “Don’t lie to me.”
“I swear draga, I’m not lying. I haven’t talked to her since yesterday but she’s supposed to be meeting with me in,” he pauses, “half an hour. I’ll talk to her then, but I promise I wouldn’t have told her without first calling you.”
Tumblr media
“Give me your phone.”
“I was just starting to actually like Y/N, did I really need to do that?” Jessica groans as she tosses her phone over to Alix.
“I don’t care what you want to do” Alix mumbles while reading the messages between Jessica and Yelena, “Good job. Any internal conflict we can cause amongst their ranks, the better.”
She hands back the phone as she asks the question that’s been on her mind for hours, “Did she look like she enjoyed it?”
“It’s not like I had a front row seat. I was on the fire escape, how do you expect me to know that?” “I don’t remember asking for any attitude or did you forget who you’re talking to?”
Jessica lets out an over dramatic sigh, “No I didn’t. I’m sorry for giving you attitude.”
Alix smiles to herself at Jessica’s submission, “Good girl.”
Jessica bites her tongue to keep from saying something that will get her kicked out of the pack or worse, given how moody Alix has been lately.
“I think she was high and you know how the saying goes.”
“Come on,” Alix says unimpressed with Jessica’s read of the situation.
“What? It wouldn’t be a saying if it wasn’t true.” “Drunk actions are sober thoughts? Don’t even try and convince me that her being high was the only reason why she kissed him. She kissed him because she wanted to.” “Alix I really don’t think she has any interest in him.”
Alix growls her warning to stop talking before it gets worse and reclines further into the couch. Regardless of what Sunny may have been feeling when she kissed Bucky, she still did it and that’s far worse of a betrayal to Alix than anything else. During their relationship, Alix had to constantly remind Sunny that she was hers even when that meant leaving bruises and marks.  Sometimes the physical reminders of her place were the only thing Alix to get to work. On numerous occasions, they were the only thing that kept Sunny from leaving the house and kept her out of trouble.
“Just do what I ask and don’t question me. I am your leader, Jessica, and I’m done with reminding you.”
Jessica scoffs and takes her phone back, “You’re done? I’m the one who’s had to slum it with humans and Strigoi for the last few years.” “And you do it because I told you to. Quit with the complaining. I don’t want to hear it anymore.”
“Or what? You’ll send me back to California and then what? You’ll have no one here who is as close to Y/N as I am and you’ll be back at square one or even worse since I’m sure she’s going to find out that you’re here soon enough.”
Within seconds, Alix is off of the couch and has Jessica pinned against a wall, “What did you just say?” “I’m your only shot at getting her back.”
Alix’s hand comes up to grip Jessica’s neck and squeezes hard enough that she starts to gasp for air.
“I don’t need you for anything,” she growls with a deep anger, “I could care less about what happens to you so there is nothing stopping me from exposing who you are to Y/N or the Strigoi and leaving you to fend for yourself. Barnes and Rogers won’t like knowing that an rival spy has been working with that filthy demon spawn of theirs. Do you really want to test me right now?”
With the hand clasped tightly on her throat, she can’t say anything but barely nods and whimpers, something that Alix finds great pleasure in.
“Good,” she loosens her grip just enough for Jessica to get the air she desperately needs, “Don’t fucking do that again or I won’t be so nice.”
Tumblr media
Yelena and Bucky sit across from each other, both waiting for the other to speak first. When she arrived, she made an effort to not say a single word and to maintain her stoic face no matter how piercing his gaze may be. She figured based on his matching behavior that Sunny had called him to tell him that their kiss was no longer a secret. Steve had given them questioning looks when she came in but left nonetheless even if he was concerned for either of their safeties.
“You know.”
Yelena scoffs, shaking her head as she glances around the room, “Obviously.” “Good then we can be adults about this.”
“Says the one who pouted and threw a tantrum when he found out that we went on a date.”
“I didn’t do either of those things.”
She settles her eyes on him for the first time since she sat down, “So what do you call dragging her into your office and then going to her apartment?” “The first thing is called a conversation and the second is called being a gentleman. I was checking on her.”
“With your tongue down her throat.”
“You did the same thing. I’d say you were throwing a tantrum by bringing her to MY club and kissing her 10 feet away from me.”
“She willingly went out with you, I can’t say the same about you. Also, why did you text me off of a burner?”
Bucky’s brows furrow in confusion, “I didn’t.”
She takes her phone out to show him the text that informed her of the kiss, “Yes you did.”
Bucky takes his own out to prove that he never sent her that text; she kissed me.
“Why would I text you from a burner phone?”
Before Yelena can say anything smart back, the door to his office bursts open. A fuming Steve throws the door open and all but slams his phone down on the table.
“Jessica knows Alix.”
On it is an old picture of Jessica hugging Alix, both smiling like little kids.
Yelena squints at the image, “Where did you get this?” “Peggy found it. I’m not sure where but she just sent it to me. We need to get Sunny to a safe house immediately.”
They look to Bucky who is already half way out of the door. The one person he trusted outside of his people has proven to be the most dangerous person he could imagine.

Can we have a one shot of Jack having a nightmare of MC marrying someone else, saying that they don't love him anymore and banishing Jack back in his VHS prison. Only to wake up with an empty bed causing more panic. But MC's just in the bathroom getting ready for the day.
You know, between this ask, and this absolutely heartbreaking picture by my good friend @illary-kore, I've been inspired. I say it's high time for Jack to get some comforting, and I'm going to use my specific MC Alice for it. Sound good? Awesome~
A reminder to everyone that Something's Wrong with Sunny Day Jack is an Adults Only fandom. Mature topics will be discussed, mostly in the form of psychological horror, body horror, angst, trauma, and a hint of spice. I hope you all enjoy this flashfic draft of painful nightmares and healing fluff.

...
Alice was gone. Jack couldn’t feel her anymore. Desperately, he sought out any trace of her warmth, but all he felt was the hauntingly familiar cold numbness that grated on his senses and wore them away until there was nothing but static and an endless, empty pain.
No, no, no, no, no! Not again!
The gunshots, the screams, the crying, the pain… Jack felt that endless cycle of agony and death creeping in on his senses. It consumed him until the warmth he felt from Alice almost seemed like a lie, a delusion of heaven he created to escape hell.
Alice! Please, no… Alice! Sunshine! Help me! Save me! Alice!
Jack reached out for the barest whisper of warmth. Maybe he was just imagining it. Maybe he was deluding himself again, but that didn’t matter. He needed to find her. He needed her.
Alice!
There was a wall of ice so cold that his hands immediately felt numb when he touched it, even through his gloves. Vaguely, Jack remembered this feeling - a glass screen, a window that showed him his first glimpse of sunshine in forever. He slammed his hands against the glass blindly, screaming Alice’s name until his voice cracked and broke.
Faintly, through the static, Jack saw something to form. It was hazy, and only his left eye worked. He could feel the empty socket where his right eye used to be, weeping blood and tears down his face. He squinted his only remaining eye as he called out desperately for his sunshine.
Finally, he saw her, Alice wasn’t alone.
He was with her, the liar who tricked his sunshine and toyed with her heart. Ian was dressed like him - the new Sunny Day Jack… or rather the “only” Sunny Day Jack. He was a mockery of the original, redesigned and repackaged for a new generation that weren’t allowed to ever know that he was nothing more than a copy. He was a lie that would ensure everyone forgot the truth.
“Oh, Sunshine,” Ian said, his voice barely audible through the haze of static. “Alice, I knew you would choose me. We’re meant to be together… We were always meant to be together.”
“Jack…,” Alice said in a sigh that Jack barely heard, but she wasn’t talking to him. That name spoken so sweetly and with such a fond expression on her face was directed at the fake who held her close. “I love you.”
Alice! That’s not me! He’s not me! I’m the real Sunny Day Jack! Look at me! Don’t leave me here! Please! You can’t replace me with him too! Not you too!
The kiss they shared was a rusty dagger gouging through his heart. Jack cried out, but his voice never reached them. They turned and walked away from him, slowly disappearing into the haze of static.
Alice! Please! Come back! You promised! You promised you’d never forget me! You promised we’d be together forever!
They were gone. Alice was gone… and Jack knew deep down in his soul that she was never coming back.
Please… Alice… my sunshine… What did I do wrong?
The despair was suffocating, the cold overwhelming, and the numbness that dissolved his senses and refused to let him ever find rest was maddening. Jack could do nothing but scream without a voice in the static and his memories of death and sunshine.
“Jack? Jack, wake up.”
Jack woke up gasping for air as if he was still capable of drowning, his body covered in a faint sheen of sweat. The cold numbness was still carved into his bones, but a glorious, beautifully familiar warmth caused it to recede back into the depths of his nightmares. His eyes - both of them - came into focus on his shaking hands that clasped tightly around two very familiar pale ones. He looked up to see Alice leaning over him, her brow knit and her pale blue eyes filled with worry. Although it was dark in their bedroom, it was nothing like the endless void he had been trapped in, and he saw his sunshine perfectly.
“Are you okay?” Alice asked. “You sounded like you were in pain an-”
Jack struck with the quickness of a cobra and snatched up Alice into his arms, who squeaked in surprise as she suddenly found herself pinned to the bed underneath him. His body, so much bigger and bulkier than hers, was a cage that surrounded her, securing her in place against him and refusing to ever let her go.
“Alice,” Jack said, his voice hushed and haunted. “Don’t go. Don’t forget me, please.”
It was difficult for Alice to make out his expression, as his hair and the way he loomed over her cast his face in shadow, but she could feel Jack shivering against her body. His breath was irregular, a bit ragged, and she could feel hot puffs of it against her cheeks. His hold was secure, but delicate, as though he was afraid that she would shatter into dust and slip between his fingers if he wasn’t careful enough.
Despite being trapped, Alice worried more about what was wrong with Jack than the position she was in. She could practically feel how much he needed her in that moment, and her heart went out to him. She brought her hand up to his cheek and he nuzzled into it immediately. He murmured her name and his breath tickled against her skin, sending a shiver up her spine.
“Jack…,” Alice said, her voice soft and soothing. “It’s okay. I’m right here. I won’t forget you, not ever.”
As the fear slowly began to recede, Jack became more aware of what he was doing and grew self-conscious about how he must’ve looked to Alice right now. This wasn’t behavior fitting of Sunny Day Jack. He needed to present only the best to his sunshine if he didn’t want to lose her. He looked away from her, growing bashful as he fumbled for a recovery, some way to smooth things over with that classic Sunny Day Jack charm that won over an entire nation, but Alice spoke first.
“Did you have a nightmare?” she asked gently, her eyes soft and focused only on him.
A nightmare. Of course. Jack almost felt stupid now for how he was reacting. Of course Alice wouldn’t leave him for some cheap imitation, or for that awful ex who toyed with her heart. How could he believe otherwise?
“Y-yeah… it was… It was just a nightmare,” Jack said, more to himself than Alice. He tried to shake off these feelings that were uncharacteristic of the Sunny Day Jack, giving his sunshine his sunniest smile as he let out a small laugh that came out more strained than he would’ve liked. “L-looks like I spooked myself pretty good, huh? But dreams can’t hurt us since… since they’re only our imagination running away with us while we sleep.” Reluctantly, he shifted so that he lay beside Alice in a more casual position, though he couldn’t bring himself to let her go. “I hope I didn’t give you a scare too, sunspot.”
Alice moved along with Jack so that she stayed close, hooking one of her legs around his despite the fact that it was obvious he wasn’t going anywhere. She wanted to make sure that he knew that she wasn’t going to leave him alone. “I’m more worried about you right now.” She slowly stroked the edge of his strained smile and felt the tension in his cheek. “Are you okay?”
“I’m swell as a bell, sunshine,” Jack said, his smile coming a bit more easily now. “As groovy as a smoothie. I just…” He forced out a small chuckle that was almost genuine. “I guess I got a little caught up in the moment, but it’s nothing some sweet dreams with good company won’t fix.”
Alice furrowed her brow. She could tell that Jack was trying to mask how he felt, which only made her concern for him grow. He had been fine earlier, when she snuck out of his arms and their bed to use the bathroom. Her “business” took longer than she would’ve liked, and at some point she had a bad feeling that something was wrong, which was only confirmed when she returned to the bedroom.
Jack had been a terrible sight, his body contorted and tangled in the sheets, his face twisted with panic and desperation. He croaked out her name and half-mumbled pleas that broke her heart. His hands weakly groped at the sheets until she snatched them up to hold as she roused him awake.
Alice could see the fear still haunting his dark eyes despite his attempts to soften it for her sake, making her heart ache for him all the more.  “Do you want to talk about it?”
“Oh, no, I don’t think that’s really necessary,” Jack said quickly. “It’s just a dream, and dreams can’t hurt us because they’re not real. They don’t ever have to be real…”
That last sentence was spoken under his breath, obviously not meant for Alice to hear, but she caught it all the same. “Yeah, I know that,” she said, “but that doesn’t mean they can’t make us feel bad. If something’s bothering you, I want to help.”
Jack hesitated, his resolve wavering in the light of his sunshine’s concern for him. He knew that he had to be perfect for her, to show only his best sides to her, but he could feel how much she ached to help him. A guilty part of him craved that feeling, especially when he could remember just how cold it was without her in his nightmare. “I… I don’t… I-I mean I appreciate it, sunspot, really, but I just…”
The feeling of Alice combing her fingers through his hair made it difficult for Jack to focus on his excuses, and his rambling eventually trailed off. She touched him so gently, stroking his head and drawing him even closer to her. She closed her eyes as she rested her forehead lightly against his, making him just that much more aware of her softness and warmth. He breathed her in, relishing in that familiar combination of sugar cookies, vanilla cupcakes, and something else that was distinctly Alice.
“I love you, Jack,” Alice said, her tender words sending a jolt through Jack that caused his heart to flutter. “You’re my partner, and my best friend. I’m here for you… whether you’re okay or not.”
Jack recognized the words that he told to her once upon a time, back when she was still hiding her pain from him, too afraid to let him or anyone else see her weakness. It made him waver. A part of him wanted to break down, to collapse into her arms and just unleash all those terrifying tangled up feelings twisted up inside his heart, but those feelings were too big, too horrible for him to even think about. How could he ever dare to risk crushing her under the weight of everything he had been through? How could he dare risk chasing her away showing her anything less than the very best version of himself?
He couldn’t go back to that hell. He could never risk losing his sunshine.
When it was clear that Jack was reluctant to speak, Alice continued in a gentle voice. “It’s okay if you don’t want to talk about it.” She leaned back just enough that she could kiss his forehead. “Just don’t force yourself to pretend you’re okay when you’re not. I’m not going anywhere.”
Jack closed his eyes and savored the feeling of her lips on his skin. Alice pressed soft kisses all across his face, making sure no spot was left feeling unloved. She finished by meeting his lips with hers, and he was only too eager to return the kiss to show his love in return.
When Alice eventually drew back to end the kiss, Jack couldn’t help but give chase, snatching up just one more quick peck before he could regain enough self-control to let her catch her breath. She looked up at him with a lopsided smile and lightly tapped his nose. “I love you whether you’re okay or not, starlight.”
Those words were his undoing. Although Jack desperately refused to break, in that moment he allowed himself to bend. “I love you too, sunshine… more than you’ll ever know.”
Alice offered Jack a lopsided smile. “Well then, I guess I’ll have to stick around if I want to find out just how much you love me,” she teased lightly.
Jack chuckled softly. “Nothing would make me happier, Alice.”
Alice drew him in closer, and Jack allowed her to guide him to rest his head on her chest. Her heartbeat thrummed against his ear along with her breaths, as her soft warmth cradled him and her sweet smell made her so much more aware of her. She was so close, her soft curves so tempting. He could drown himself in her, in that intense love and desire that came when their bodies meshed just perfectly together.
It was so tempting; they were both barely dressed. Alice was wearing only his shirt and a pair of panties while Jack had only his boxers on. It would be all too easy for him to just tear their clothes away and make love to his sunshine until he forgot everything but her name.
It was tempting, but Jack hesitated. This moment between them felt intimate in a way that was different than lovemaking but just as powerful, and he wanted to savor it just a little while longer.
That was when Alice began to sing, startling Jack. It was a song that he didn’t recognize, something soft and soothing, likely a lullaby. He was so taken aback by hearing her sing for him that the words failed to register at first, and all he could focus on was the warmth of her voice washing over him.
Eventually Jack caught the lyrics as well. It was a sweet song, one that promised that no matter what storms may rage or tears may fall, she would stay with him, and everything would be fine in the morning.
Her voice was beautiful, and the song Alice sang was sweeter than anything Jack had ever heard before. He melted into her, and his heart squeezed every time she repeated that she would be there with him, tonight and tomorrow. He keenly felt just how much she loved him, the warmth of her love filling him up like nothing else ever could. He made sure to share his love and gratitude in return, wanting to make her feel just as special and loved as she did for him. He would have said as much, but he didn’t dare interrupt this private concert that she sang only for him.
Instead, Jack silently thanked God for finally allowing an angel to save him from hell and bring him to this heaven made from their love. More than God, he thanked Alice for finding him, saving him, and loving him just as much as he loved her.
