To which steve loses HIS SHIT bc nancy stop being bullshit that's his platonic soulmate and he loves her more than any romantic fling he could have had in the past bc robin was the first person to except him and ask if he was okay!!!!

Robin then having to face the Russians again, only this time forced to watch steve getting tortured (finally understanding why he wouldnt fully tell her what happened) plus watching/ seeing dustin and erica hurt and blaming her for what happened at starcourt!

She (like steve) blames herself for letting them get involved, she hates that her decoding a secret message for fun led to someone she now loves getting hurt

Everyone is not sure if they are more scared of robin dying in this moment, or steve, who the party is pretty sure has finally cracked when in his last attempt to find a song that means something to robin

There must be “fanaticism” towards something before one can achieve a state of “godly”.

Like that absolute truth of the matter?? The obsession one has with anything makes them go into such nitty gritty details and observe patterns that others would overlook simply on account of FANATICISM, yknow? And it's so explicitly seen in everything from master chefs to world renowned artists to the most brilliant of scientists. Truly to be a master, you must have a madness and obsession for the craft first.

Yin Yu’s smile became stiffer. What he couldn’t take on, Quan Yizhen took on so effortlessly.

This was very much like a situation where you just couldn’t win over a girl you loved, and she ignored you completely, but when she ran into the arms of someone else in tears, this someone else couldn’t even be bothered to spare her a look and instead turned around to tell you how she was only average, nothing to be amazed by. Truly, what a bitter feeling.

God yes I truly understood exactly how Xie Lian felt because it was so agonizing and awkward to watch everything go down between the oblivious Qi Ying and the slowly maddening Yin Yu....

And like the part where he tells him GO DIE and everything that happened after and the instant regret and broken feeling Yin Yu went through and just he gave and gave and gave and gave and got nothing while Qi Ying got everything and more and frustration of watching him act like nothing happened because suddenly it makes YOU look like you're the jerk and that youre just being over dramatic and the absolute hate that started festering simply on account of outside influence from the other disciples and later on, the heavenly court (or maybe outside influence was just an excuse and the problem lay dormant within) and to have your hubris and jealousy and pride ruin what was good or so you thought and suddenly you go back and think about all the past memories and it's like wait, was it ever good a-

would u help me out for a second. im in the mood to write for the first time, and i think your style is beautiful. sitting down n actually trying though, im stuck as fuck! i’m realizing that in your dialogue/scenes you’ve got a lot of Little Things. little tiny elements that are subtle & just enough. how are you deciding that lily is building a house of cards at the moment or sirius is sitting in a tree or whatever during a given scene? how do you come up with those ideas for dialogue that are so silly & real & sneakily tender? do you know where it’s going when you begin? any advice for just… starting something?

This is a lovely question!! Sorry it took me so long to get to it, I didn’t want to get it wrong. Also I’ve included some examples to try and explain what I mean in practise, but it also comes off rather like plugging. tragically this is unavoidable. Anyway, all that being said I have no idea how to advise you about dialogue and coming up with it, I think just listening to people talk helps. Don’t forget contractions, and when in doubt always trust the reader to keep up, real people don’t say perfect or even grammatically correct sentences a lot of the time. We also cut each other off all the time, especially when we’re trying to be funny. Like, here’s an example from warm front:

“He’s not even two. He probably would have thought it was, like, having a lie down or something.”

Harry was laughing now, “A lie down?”

“Yeah, a spontaneous, truck-induced–“

“–Permanent–“ “

–Permanent, lie-down. I’m almost jealous now actually.”

Another thing, but people say um and like or can't speak or cut themselves off, especially when they’re nervous. James when Lily says she loves him for the first time: ‘“Wow,” He breathed, “I’m– wow.” He put both hands on her cheeks and kissed her crazy, abruptly, dumbly. Her head spun.’ He can’t even speak! Dumb boy.

I think natural dialogue sometimes just requires you to read it aloud, which is very embarrassing but ultimately quite useful in trying to figure out whether something sounds normal or not. Use casual words, and try not to go dictionary hunting: if you cant think of the word chances are your character can’t either

In terms of concepts I have no idea, but I do have a few tips. I write all my short one-shots in one document (its called ‘just bad’ lmao) so its easy to start something, write a few lines, and then if it doesnt work just start a new concept, but still have all the old stuff handy. if you feel like you’ve written yourself into a corner its probably because you took a wrong turn earlier, so its just a matter of going back up and figuring out where you turned onto the dead end, or where a line could be funnier and/or sadder and/or more meaningful. Sometimes the bare bones of a decent line is there but you have to work it a little.

In this harry/ginny thing where harry is apologising for all the attention and ginny brushes him off she says:

“It’s nothing,” her voice, all force, “Anyway, it’s more funny than annoying.”

The response went through a few drafts, all variations on the same thing:

(1) “You’re funnier.” [too short, doesn’t make sense, and not really that funny. unholy trinity]

(2) “You make it funny.” Harry said, looking at her for real, “It’s not– you make it like that.” [this could work! I have no idea why I cut this, I think I forgot abt it lmao]

(3) “You’re the funniest person I know, Harry said, sincerely, and Ginny felt her heartbeat all through her, “You make it funny.” [jumping from ‘its more funny than annoying’ to getting this sincere out of nowhere is a little much, even for harry who is famously whipped]

I ended up going with this:

“It’s nothing,” her voice, all force, “Anyway, it’s more funny than annoying.”

“You’re funny.” Harry said, looking at her for real, flustered, “I mean– you make it funny. That’s all you.”

It follows the flow of the conversation and I think the way he says it, ‘you’re funny’ like its obvious, and then being like oh fuck and over-explaining it stumbling a little “I mean– you make it funny. That’s all you.”. You know when you like someone and you say something that gives you away before you can stop yourself? I wanted it to sound like that. Just gotta keep in mind how people behave, we are so stupid a lot of the time, we give ourselves away.

The thing about short stuff i find is implying a lot of history without actually describing a lot of it. I normally do this by having memories come up as almost shards, one second of feeling. You know when you’re in a conversation with someone and they mention someone or a past event, and it rises to the top of your brain, but only for a second? i find sometimes when you’re reading stuff people will try and replay entire memories or events mid-conversation, which is not something you do when you think. You don’t need to replay it beat by beat, you were there! This sounds vague as hell so I’ll try and show you what I mean:

From good crimes: “Petunia is engaged.” Lily’s voice, raw and wrong, “To Vernon. Eliza Hunt told me at the supermarket.” Sudden flashes of Petunia, the only time he’d ever met her, sat in the back of Lily’s twenty-first, pinched and whispering. “Whose Eliza Hunt?” This seems as good a thing to say as any.

pretty on the nose (the phrase ‘sudden flashes’ is pretty so i'll allow it from past me). But see how you don’t need to know how Petunia didnt talk to anyone, how she left early, how she was the odd one out: you don’t need to read all that, you already know because she was sat in the back and because pinched is such a mean verb, spiteful and sharp, you can already imagine how the evening went without me saying so

From my proposal take, after Sirius finds out they’re engaged: Sirius’ grip on his shoulder tightened for one second, still grinning, and James knew what he meant. “I know.” He said, because only Sirius had been there for all of it, when they were fifteen, drunk on Firewhiskey for the first time and James had said I think I’ve fucked it, I think I’ve fucked it but I like her for real.

you don’t need a description of the whole night, what party they were at, who they were with, what they were talking about: the important bit is that Sirius was the first person he told, and that they’re both remembering that at the same moment because they’re soulmates lmao. You know when something big happens for a friend and you feel so full of pride & love that you feel like you’ll burst into confetti?? this needed to feel like that, and you only need a flash for it

I feel like I’ve sort of strayed off from what you asked me, which is really advice on how to start something. I normally start with a line, usually of dialogue, and then try and build from there because dialogue is my thing. You might have a different thing! Some people write from concepts or locations, or an image. i might start with one or a few lines of dialogue, write them down, and then try to build from there. For example for the proposal thing I started from james just saying “Marry me”, which I find more romantic than ‘will you marry me’, purely because it sounds like he simply couldn’t stop himself from saying it, like it rushed out. Another example, this thing started from just “don’t be mad at me” “okay” James agreed instantly, because he is such a sucker for her.

When I write I don’t normally know where I’m going! I normally set out to write something I think is vaguely funny and evokes An Emotion, and then I just play around with stuff until I get there. when I write certain stuff and I have scenes in mind, stuff I want to happen, but I find that if I try to plot it to tightly its not exciting to work on, because sometimes you write a good line by accident, that you hadn’t thought of when you sat down, and you surprise yourself. That is a really nice feeling! i want to maximise that feeling.

'What I mostly try to remember is that writing something down, anything down, is useful. Sometimes you write for a whole night and dont get anything useable, but its like clearing pipes. Sometimes you have to flush through shit to get to the good bits. All the rough stuff, the things you don’t like or didn’t work, you wrote to get you to the stuff that did work. All of the bad shit got you here! It wasn’t a waste, you were working to find the good thing

If I had any tips its just the usual stuff, read! It is annoying how much that helps. Also, and I know this may make you shudder, but reading poetry is useful just because in no other literary or media form is language so important. In comics you have pictures, in novels you have plot and character, in film you all that and cinematography, but in poetry you live and die by how good the words are. If you want recs here’s my poem roundup tag, that I do sometimes, or if you want something just now read this by Anne Carson, which uses words like ‘smashing’, ‘boatwash’, and ‘green’ in the best way possible. Also it has these lines: “Recently having learned to recognize the type of tree called sycamore, / I see them in any forest— / the ones that look harrowed, / in shreds, but / go also / straight up into life,”

I mean, think of a sharper image than that?? It’s not possible. Just try remember to stay true to your characters and that in real life, the little stuff is the big stuff. Little things the people around you do normally show they care more than big speeches, and if you want to show love that’s how to make it feel lived in. You want to build a world! the little stuff is usually the world. Take some from your own or dream the ones you wish you had.

Honestly, while Ed/Noah isn't my thing, I actually agree with your headcanons, like them being able to be in silence together! I love the idea of Ed and Noah having that kind of relationship! (I personally say that while there is attraction between them, I think Noah reading Edward's dreams without consent was kinda creepy and while I totally understand her wanting to escape to a world that was supposed to be free from prejudice against her people, I think she went a bit far and would need to build up trust with Edward again but I think that wouldn't take long. I mean, I also think Noah wouldn't have been happy in Amestris ANYWAY because now she would literally be the only one of her people. In our world she might be able to find other Roma who would accept her but not in Amestris, she'd have to find another culture to assimilate into... or build from the ground up!)

(Also I rarepair Rose and Russell so I'd want Noah to hook up with Russell's counterpart lol) In case it sounded harsh, I really do love Noah and could have shipped her and Ed the same way you do as "not soulmates, but choose to be together" types, but I think Noah's actions towards the end of the movie bothered me a bit, even though I know she's a good person making a bad choice out of desperation.

personally im not bothered by it for multiple reasons. A) i take the movie with a grain of salt, B) i was under the impression that noah didnt really have much of a choice anyway, like iirc she was cornered by the organization and they would’ve made her betray ed even if she said no, C) i dont know how much of the situation she was really aware of, like maybe all she knew was there was a world ed was from that is much better and that was enough for her. this is debatable though, i dont remember the details very well, D) ed (AND al) have made similar grand scale mistakes that resulted in the loss of many lives due to their chasing of a dream like DAMN. ed with liore, al in the movie opening the portal, and noah assisting on the other side. it fits with the show’s themes, and ed’s lessons, so i think ed would be the first to forgive her since she was like him in a way

“I can explain!” You exclaimed, hands out defensively as your parents stood up from your bed.

Both your mum and dad crossed their arms, the tapping of your mum’s foot being the only noice in the room for a few seconds, “Okay then young lady, explain.” Your mum said expectantly.

“I needed some fresh air, and I knew you were asleep downstairs mum,” you looked at the floor away from her piercing gaze, “so I didn’t want to wake you and left through my window I’m sorry.”

“You ‘went out for some air’ looking like that?” Your dad waved his hand at your outfit and ruined makeup, his eyebrows raised.

“I- um, was wearing this already and I was upset.” You knew your excuse was getting progressively worse, the lies you were telling getting harder and harder to believe, but you still wanted to try.

Without warning your mum’s hand connected with your face, “Don’t lie to us! We’re not stupid.”

You cupped your face in shock, trying to hold back the tears that were already threatening to spill out of your eyes. “I’m sorry, what can I do to make up for it?”

“Stop lying to us for one you little bitch.” Your dad spat at you, grabbing your wrist in an excruciatingly tight grip.

Your mum nodded her agreement, not even caring about the look of pain on your face as your dad began dragging you along towards the bathroom.

“Get cleaned up and then go and clean the pool.”

“But its the middle of the night-“

“You said you wanted some fresh air didn’t you? At leat you’re being helpful by doing this.” He shoved you into the bathroom, ignoring the way you tripped over your feet and fell, hitting the edge of the sink with your head on the way down.

The door slammed behind you, and just like that, the floodgates seemed to open for what felt like the fiftieth time that night. How do you have enough water left in your body for even more crying?

You lifted your hand up to where it had come into contact with the sink, pulling back when you felt a warm liquid, and even though your vision was blurry from the tears - it was obvious it was blood.

“Shit.” You reached for the sink, pulling yourself up from the floor so you could properly look into the mirror behind it.

Realising you had to fix this up before it got worse, you ran the tap, splashing some cold water on your face to get rid of some of the make up and combat the tears, and went into the cupboard searching for a clean piece of cloth to hold up against the wound.

Standing in front of the mirror, a small towel held up against the cut to stop the bleeding, you examined yourself and the only words that could describe you right now was ‘a fucking mess’.

After several minutes you removed the towel, happy to see that the bleeding had slowed almost completely, and so began clearing the rest of yourself up, starting with removing the make up stains across your whole face. Once you felt and looked less like someone who had been crying for the whole night, you quietly left the bathroom and changed into some leggings and an oversized sweatshirt. You didn’t want to go and do some chores at this time of night but you weren’t going to upset your parents again as they had almost gone easy on you tonight.

Heading downstairs you heard your parent’s bedroom door shut, one of them had probably been waiting to make sure you go outside.

You had never liked the shed where all the pool cleaning stuff was stored, it was something about the spiders that lived in there that had always freaked you out, scared one would fall on you if you moved something. Taking a few deep breaths to try and prepare yourself, you stepped into the small wooden building, sidestepping over a broken spade and grabbed the equipment you needed.

Your pool wasn’t huge like some on this street, but it was still big enough to be a pain in the ass to clean, you threw the equipment on the floor, grabbing a net to remove all the leaves and bugs that had fallen into the water and began the cleaning process.

It took about 10 minutes to remove all the debris, and as you turned your attention to brushing some dirt off the walls, you heard movement behind you. In most situations you would assume this was one of your parents, but for once without a doubt you knew it wasn’t them as you were facing the house and there had been no movement inside.

Your heart was racing, this was like some sort of crime show where you get murdered and left to bleed out in your pool - no you weren’t going to let your thoughts head down that road, it was probably a cat or something, yeah something harmless, you slowly began to convince yourself.

You began to turn around, the brush you were holding close to your chest ready for its debut as a weapon if needed, when your heart leapt out of your skin at the tall figure you were met with.

As you lifted the brush, ready to strike, you realised you knew the figure, his deep blue eyes staring at you, a small smirk playing at his lips.

“What the fuck!” You say, wary you can’t be any louder in case your parents hear, “Did you follow me home or something?”

He held up his hands in surrender, “I didn’t follow you home, but I might’ve asked someone where you lived.”

“That’s not any less creepy JJ if I’m being honest - why did you come to my house?”

“Well I was going to make sure you were okay and maybe play out a rom com situation where I talk to you at your window, but instead it seems to be one of the classic porn scenarios, not that I’m complaining.” He smirked at you.

You roll your eyes in disgust, “Get your head out the gutter. And as you can see I’m fine so please leave.”

“I hear you say fine, but it’s the early hours of the morning and you’re cleaning a pool, as well as some sort of head injury that I can feel by the way, so I’m going with you’re not fine.” He raises his eyebrows at you in question.

Fuck, you’d forgotten about that recent development, annoyed there was now someone you could never hide your pain from, for better or worse.

“I’m cleaning because after my disaster of a night, I couldn’t get to sleep so I thought this would help clear my mind, and its a small cut from where I fell in the bathroom and hit my head because I’m clumsy. That good enough for you?” You were almost proud of how easily you could lie to people, but in fairness you had fell in the bathroom so that one wasn’t exactly a lie, more of an omission of the whole truth.

JJ nodded to himself, “We’re gonna have to talk about it at some point.”

“Talk about what?” You asked, worried he might’ve not believed what you’d said and was making theories about your home life.

“The soulmate thing.”

“Oh,” you breathed out, “yeah probably, although there’s not much to say.”

He let out a small chuckle, “Well this is going to be harder than I thought, you’re not one for being emotional and open are you?”

“Not really no,” you couldn’t help but laugh a little at yourself, “but I understand we might need to get to know each other now.”

“Great.” He stepped towards you, smiling, “Should we start now?”

“We’ve already clarified I’m cleaning a pool, do you need your eyes checked or something?”

He raised his eyebrows at the way your words dripped with sarcasm, “I think my eyes are fine baby, I guess we’ll have to reschedule to tomorrow then.”

“I guess we do.” You respond, trying to ignore the way your stomach fluttered when he called you baby, especially because he was clearly trying to get a rise out of you.

“Alright, can you surf?”

“How will that help us to get to know each other?”

“You learn a lot surfing with someone, and it means we spend most of the day together - so can you surf?”

You consider telling him that you couldn’t, but you were actually pretty good and this could be an opportunity to show him up - and because he was your soulmate you really did want to get to know him, you were just too stubborn to admit it at the moment.

“Yeah I can blondie, hope you’re ready to be put to shame.” You laughed.

“Oh I cant wait,” he smiled at you, “I’ll meet you at the beach at ten?”

“Ten’s good for me, and hey maybe we’ll both actually sleep before then.”

“Alright,” he looked like he wanted to step closer to you but instead settled on a small wave, “I’ll see you then.”

He gave you one last smile before turning away and heading back out of your garden, and as you watched him leave and thought about your “date” tomorrow your heart quickened.

As JJ walked away from you he smiled to himself, he had never met someone like you - anyone he’d ever been with he either hadn’t got to know or they didn’t excite him in the way he wanted. The only person he’d ever considered to date was Kie as she knew some of the darkest things about him and stayed around and she joked around with him nicely, but he realised pretty quickly that she was better to have as a friend.

He’d only ever seen you a few times, and in the past week or so at that, but he was loving every minute he spent with you - your fiery attitude and sarcasm seemed to compliment his personality pretty well. And god when you laughed, he felt like there was nothing bad in the world and he wanted to do everything in his power to make you laugh, hopefully brightening your day and definitely making his day better.

There was one thing that he was worried about though, which was you seemed to be injured as often as he was, and you definitely weren’t going to be open about in the same way he hated talking about his dad. What if your family life wasn’t great either? If that was the case, it’d be hard for either of you to heal in the way you wanted with reminders of other people hurting someone you loved.

Loved. He couldn’t believe he was already thinking about that when he barely knew you and was terrified of love and the thought that people wouldn’t love him back. But he’d be an idiot if he let this opportunity pass him by self sabotaging the relationship.

So, with a slight spring in his step at the thought of your date tomorrow, he walked to the chateau, keeping the image of you laughing at the front of his mind.

I was literally going to send you paragraphs upon paragraphs of my tired brains thoughts. I can give a TL;DR of it because it was basically explaining why I love a trope I forgot the name of. This however was still written when I was tired sooo.

The trope is where you will meet in another life despite not knowing or barely knowing each other.

The simple answer to why I love it without all the paragraphs of why is that while a angst trope (in the catagory of mostly hurt no comfort which i dont like) is that it brings hope for a meeting of someone who couldve been a friend no matter how many lives it takes.

I also talked about soulmate tropes with it that boiled down to..

I hate the last words before death where you now find out you are soulmates

Every other type I love because it can still fit into the trope the post was about. Ex meeting during war (or something similar) where they have to kill eachother.

Why I liked the other over the last word one is...

Last Word soulmates are baked into that universe. Other soulmate aus are not and can hope for a better life.

As for my favourite... hmmm...

Well, I have a particular love for platonic soulmates, though in particular another one I love is when the character has, like, the name of their soulmate on one wrist and the name of their biggest enemy or of the person who hurts them the most on the other and they don't know who is who. I found it a few times and it's just a wonderful trope with so much angst potential. Just so much.

I don't know if it has a name or if it's a bit too specific? But yeah, that one's my favourite thing.

For weeks after your fight with Peter, you would rarely leave your house. The first couple of days you stayed home, you dad didn’t even argue with you when you told him you were sick. He knew what happened (minus the shoving part). He came home about ten or twenty minutes after Peter had left and saw you crying over a shattered snowglobe. Of course, since your head was so fuzzy from what just happened, you had attempted to pick up the larger pieces by hand. There were cuts all over the palm of your hands that you could barely feel.

“No,” you sobbed, “It’s my mess. I made it. I can clean it.” 

“Baby, come on please let me clean this up,” your dad begged. His heart was breaking at the sight of you sobbing into shards of glass. He had half a mind to find Peter and kill him, but he knew that you still loved him. 

You wouldn’t pull yourself away from the snowglobe. You couldn’t really. Your legs, along with the rest of your body, had gone numb. Eventually your dad had to grab onto your arms and pull you away from the mess as you sobbed, screaming at him to let you go.

“IT’S MY MESS,” you screamed as tears streamed down your face, “It’s all my fault!” 

Your dad held you as you broke apart in his arms, crying out for Peter. He pulled the shards of glass out of your hands and bandaged them up. It was only four in the afternoon, but he sent you to sleep anyway. You didn’t fight him. You just fell straight to sleep, exhausted from all the tears you had cried today.

On day four, your dad told you it was time to go back to school. He drove you there himself and said that if you needed to leave at any point, he would come get you. 

You stayed for two hours before you ran into Peter. His eyes were red. You could tell he hadn’t slept in days. When he caught your eyes, he stopped in the middle of the hallway and stared at you, mouth agape. 

“Y/N…” he tried to say, but you were already backing away. You didn’t stop until you were down the street from the school. You dad picked you up and bought you ice cream. He used to do that after you got shots as a kid. It always cheered you up. It didn’t work this time.

It was a Saturday when you saw Peter next. Two weeks after that day in the hallway. You were home alone, watching Dirty Dancing for the fourth time that day (Thank you Jessica Day, it really is a great movie to watch when heartbroken), when your doorbell rang. You had assumed your father had sent a pizza to your house again because he was scared you wouldn’t eat when he wasn’t home. But when you looked through the peephole and saw Peter, your whole body froze. 

“What do you want Peter?” you asked shakily, not moving to open or unlock the door. 

“I fucked up,” he said, looking up at the peephole. You could see the broken look in his eyes. They were the same as before, bright red and exhausted, “I need you back, Y/N. I don’t know how to exist in a world where you don’t love me. I don’t know what to do anymore. Most of the time I can’t breathe. I can’t go anywhere without thinking of you. I can’t- I can’t sleep. I just… please let me fix this. Please love me again…” 

Your heart broke at his words. You never stopped loving him. How could you? He’s Peter Parker. He’s your epic love. You opened the door slowly, looking up at him with insecure eyes. 

“Pete, I never stopped loving you,” you sighed, tears already forming in your eyes, “But you hurt me. And you can’t do that anymore.” 

“I won’t,” Peter promised, “Baby, I worship you. You are everything good about me. Y/N, you make me who I am. I know you hate that cheesy stuff, but you really are. You’re my everything and I need you back… I can’t do this without you.” 

Tears trickled down your face slowly, “If you don’t hug me right now I think I might fall apart.”

Peter moved immediately, wrapping you in his arms. You snuggled your face into the crook of his neck, tears flowing freely now. Peter’s hands held onto the back of your head gently, pressing you further into him. 

“I’m so sorry for what I did,” Peter sobbed into your shoulder, “I will never ever hurt you again. I shouldn’t have to say that. I shouldn’t have done it in the first place. I love you more than anything in the entire world and I promise you that from this point on I will make damn sure it is obvious. I will make it so fucking obvious that you are the woman I want to be with for the rest of my life. I want to annoy you and you only. You’re the love of my life, you’re my soulmate… and I am in love with you. I will never stop saying that. I will set timers for every ten minutes and I will repeat it until the end of our lives. I love you. I am in love with you.” 

You laughed, happiness finally flowing through your body for the first time since he walked out of the door, “I love you Peter. I really do.” 

You and Peter finally pulled apart and Peter looked down at you with joking eyes, “I go on a full rant about how much I love you and I only get two sentences back?” 

You giggled and rolled your eyes, “There is no way I could compete with what you just said. I was just happy to be in your arms again.”

“And forevermore, right?”

You nodded, “And forevermore.” 

There was a hesitant look in Peter’s eyes as he looked down at you, but before you could ask what was wrong he spoke up. His voice was a little shaky, as if he was scared to ask, “Am I- Can I…” 

You knew what he wanted to ask, but you wanted to hear him say it, “Can you what, Parker?” 

Peter smiled at you, “Can I kiss you?” 

You tapped your chin for a second, acting as if you had to think about it. Peter looked at you with a smile, loving the fact that the two of you could just switch back to normal, “I guess that’s okay.” Peter smiled excitedly and pulled you closely, letting his lips leave ghost-like touches on yours. 

“Good because I wasn’t sure I could wait any longer,” he whispered against your lips, sending shivers down your spine. Before you could answer, Peter had pressed his lips to yours. 

And just like that the fireworks were back.

Just like that... both of you could breathe again.

Your phone lit up with the message from your best friend since basically birth. Have you read it? No. The soft fabric of your sheets pressed down on your body, silent sobs escaped your lips. The hot tears that rolled from your eyes stained your cheeks with the most pain you ever felt. You cant count how many times you had tried to get out of bed without feeling the weight of the world on your shoulders. The thoughts in your head were too heavy to carry around all day, you were being crushed by the weight of school, work, bills, and love. All you wanted was to be loved truly, to be loved deeply. Of course you knew that if you ever needed Felix you could easily get ahold of him but you knew deep down he didnt truly care about the thing you told him. 

Youve convinced yourself Felix doesnt care, so whats the point in staying around this horrible place if you have no one to care for you when you need it? The world would be so much better if your feet no longer trudged on its grassy plains anymore. One less person for the economy to support. Would anybody really miss you? Of course not, nobody even knows youre alive. You havent answered the phone in days and to be completely honest there was nobody in your phone who had cared enough to even stop by and check on you. Not even Felix.  

You pulled your lifeless body out from underneath your warm covers, you knew that what you were about to do was long overdue. The slow tired walk to the bathroom down the hall felt like an eternity. Once in the bright pale lights of the bathroom, your heart sunk. The cabinet that held the most delicate medications sat just a mere foot in front of your face. Your tired arms reached out to open the cabinet, from the small thin shelves inside you pulled a small bottle of Oxycodone. A pain reliever. The only pain reliever you’ll ever need again. Your thin fingers struggled to open the bottle. 

Your choked sob and cries could be heard in all areas of the apartment you'd been living in for the past 7 years. You were crying so hard that it was all you could hear. The tears blurred your vision enough for you not to be able to see straight.

Felix slipped the spare key you had given him into the slot and pushed open the door to be met with the sounds of your cries of pain. He dropped all his stuff immediately, not caring to organize anything or be neat about it. His heart sank when he heard you crying. He loves you so much that for you to be hurt was a pain that was unbearable on his behalf. His heart thudding in his ears as he shot to your empty room. The now quieter sobs were coming from the bathroom. Felix practically broke down the door, he knew what was happening on the other side and he couldn't lose you that way. He couldnt let the love of his life slip out of his fingertips. The moment the door was opened he pulled the small orange bottle out of your fragile and tossed it out of reach. Your body was pulled against his strong chest.

You gripped onto Felix like he was the last person you would ever see. He held your body tight in his embrace, your tears staining his hoodie. The tears that left his eyes fell into your soft hair, Felix rarely ever cried, so when he did you knew he was hurt. Your arms found their way around his waist, you didn't want him to feel like this and goddammit it was your fault. 

“Lix, p-ple-please dont e-ver leave me, Yo-youre my s-soulmate. I-I cant lose you!” you sobbed into his chest, which caused him to hold you closer than you thought was possible. His hand held your over his racing heartbeat. He couldnt lose you ever.

“Princess, im not ever going anywhere! I love you why cant you see that” he sobbed while stroking your hair. When your eyes were cleared of the tears you tilted your head upward to make eye contact with him. His soft lips planted a small soft kiss on your forehead. 

“Y/N you're my lost star, now that i've got you i'm not ever letting go.” 

“Promise?”

“I promise angel”
