its been awhile since the pocket mirror fic had a new chapter. are you planning to finish it?

Yeah, actually. I was thinking of going back and replaying Goldenertraum to get all the steam achievements

Sorry it's taking so long. My enthusiasm for Pocket Mirror has diminished because people kept messaging me about it. On top of that, an Astral Shift dev dragging an rpg critic on twitter for noticing the team used assets for the 2016 version without credit, and calling them out on it, put a bad taste in my mouth. That dev is the main artist of LGTS.

For awhile the only asks I received were about that game, to the point where it was getting excessive. Fans took that as me saying I didn't want to talk about PM at all and now there's been no messages period. I feel bad because I rarely get to talk about series I'm into with anyone, and loved theorizing about it. I also miss writing Lisette a lot (she's my fave character) and want to do justice with her second chapter.

One fan in particular started several conversations with me through DMs. The first one started out fine with the first discussion being fun, plus us making up theories about what LGTS was going to be about since it hadn't been released. But when the convo changed to being about my fic, I suggested that this user leave a review on a03. They refused, told me that they "hated the premise", and gave unsolicited critique. I asked for that to stop since it was getting uncomfortable. Their response was weird, felt sort of guilt-trippy, but they agreed to do that. However, they then DM'd me asking to talk about PM again. I said no; that it was crossing a boundary. Deleted both convos, but a third one was created to ask how I was doing. You'd think they'd have gotten the message before that.

I don't want to drag this user publicly. Blocked them and deleted each convo so my memory is a bit foggy (this happened around October last year). But idk. The whole thing has been really discouraging. I was excited to play LGTS; wanted to save up enough money to buy it but decided not to because instances like this ruined the experience for me. However, may get it in the future

Some things about Allan:

He’s the only one who reacts to the narrator

He’s the only doll (besides the Weird House) who isn’t swayed in some way by Ken’s takeover

He also declares himself as “Ken's buddy" (making canon his official box description) which makes his inability to be swayed more interesting

He has bendable legs (probably the only reason he tries to jump the fence instead of going around like everyone else)

He easily decked a half-dozen construction Kens and could probably singlehandedly win the Ken fight

He seems to know more about the real world than most Barbies

He knows what NSYNC is 

He knows about other Allan copies living in the real world (I’m trying to figure out if he made this up to convince the humans he can live in the real world, but even if he did, how does he know what NSYNC is???)

There are no other Allan models

Don’t act stupid now” You didn’t put two and two together, it still didn’t make sense. You were blind to it, absolutely clueless. Your admiration for him got in the way and now he was the one admiring you. Blade to your throat, pretty face covered in the liquid that Ethan yearned for.

You felt so dumb, stupid. Love blinded your vision and now that you wiped your eyes it burned, bad. “There were so many signs y/n, come on” Sam shook her head “The attack? The masks? Don’t tell me you didn’t think something was up” Sam cried as Quinn slashed her arm, holding down the bloody wound. “No…” your eyes looked exhausted, too tired to fight Ethan off of you.

“The way you sold me for parts. As you sunk your teeth into me”

You squirmed as Ethan bit down on your shoulder, a loud and agonizing scream coming from your lips. “You know I like the taste of blood” Ethan mumbled, spitting out the chunk of skin he had bit from your shoulder. “What the fuck?” You felt woozy, absolutely out of it. The sight of blood made your vision blurry, feeling yourself drop to the ground.

~Surprising because they didn’t realize that female wolves could imprint(even though they didn’t really have any knowledge in the female wolf thing anyhow)

~It’s unsurprising however because they had all imprinted on women and had never heard of a wolf imprinting on a guy before. 

~She imprinted on you after you had gotten done telling off a couple guys for being inappropriate with a group of high school girls at the diner you worked at. 

~You had kicked the guys out, made sure the girls were okay then turned around to tell her she could sit where she likes when you made eye contact and your life completely changed for the better. 

~Leah had been ecstatic to finally have an imprint. 

~She does hesitate to tell you that she's a werewolf and that vampires exist.

~You always make sure he is fed as well and that he isn’t overworked with patrols. 

~When she does bring you around the guys, you are tough as nails. 

~They try to make fun of Leah for the fact she was so pouty after Sam left her for her cousin. You fly right off the handle. 

~Seth and Leah have had to hold you back from physically attacking Paul and Jared for their words. 

~You also absolutely obliterated Sam and Emily one night, giving them a really long lecture about how much they truly hurt her and they apologized to her profusely. 

~She had never had anyone in her life stick up for her the way you did. 

~The love she held for you showed in every look your way, or the sparkle in her eyes when your name was mentioned. 

~She had always hoped to have the heartache of Sam and Emily patched up and you did just the trick. 

~You were unwaveringly patient with her even if you were her imprint she was still scared of another heartbreak. 

~You guys moved in with each other pretty quickly. Finding a small two bedroom apartment. 

~The thought of not living together made you both sick so it made the most sense. 

~Though separate bedrooms quickly turn into one. 

~She enjoyed having you wrapped up in her arms too much while she slept. 

~You enjoyed being wrapped up in her scent while she was gone too much to stay away from her bed. 

~You also were one of the only things that soothed her nightmares away. 

~Whether they be of her fathers death, the eclipse battle or what could have happened in the breaking dawn confrontation.

~You reassure her in the way you kiss her, slowly and passionately letting all unspoken words slip between your lips between her own. 

~You reassure her with the way you start a shower for her when you hear her slip through the front door. 

~You reassure her with the way you always have her favorite snacks stocked in your pantry, your bag and your car.

~You reassure her in the way you stop by and talk to Sue on a daily basis.

~She reassures you of her love with the way she throws your towel in the dryer so it’ll be nice and warm after your shower.

~She reassures you in the way that she hums your favorite songs while she’s doing chores around the apartment. 

~She reassures you with the way she takes you to some of her favorite spots she’s found during patrols. 

~She reassures you with her intimacy and vulnerability. 

~She loves cuddling with you, she’s always the big spoon, she loves the way you hold her hand and wrap it around your middle or lay it on your chest right over your heart. 

~Or she likes when you lay your head on her chest above her heart and tangle your legs within hers. 

~She likes when you braid her hair for her. She also enjoys braiding yours in return. 

~She's obsessed with the way you always seem cold without her. You’ll be wrapped up in 4 blankets, have on fleece pants and a hoodie with fuzzy socks and still somehow be freezing but then she wraps you up in her arms and you are perfectly content. 

~When you guys have sex it’s pretty much always soft. She is terrified of going overboard and hurting you.

~However if you liked it a little rough she would indulge you a little. 

~She keeps her thoughts of you very very private. She does not want the guys to see you in an inappropriate way. 

~Overall this woman loves and worships you undeniably. 

~I am desperate to be her imprint.

Honestly I don't know what's sadder about The Celebration Of Twilight: Lisette being separated from Goldia forever just as she made up for the pain she she put Lisette through, or Enjel being stuck with an insufferable douchebag who will never make up for the shit he put her through 😔

True, but tbh that's the vibe I was going for. The endings in-game game are meant to be bittersweet, so I wanted TCOT to have that underlining feeling to it. I've never believed in happy conclusions where everything is permanently solved unless that can work in the storyline. For me, it's too unrealistic.

These characters are all fundamentally broken people with flaws, and the best thing they can do is learn to accept them. Each chapter is based on the bonus rooms in Pocket Mirror, so Goldia can actually visit them anytime. Lisette sitting on the hill, Harpae looking out the window, Fleta chilling with Egliette in the main lobby of her mansion? It's all there once players finish the game. Enjel also appears to have freedom from Ozzy in her bonus room, so it's a silver lining. Might not come across this way if people don't get the references, though.

There's a scene at the end of Barbie in the Nutcracker where Clara meets a guy who looks exactly like the version of Prince Eric from her dream and starts dancing with him. Writing something like that, with Goldia meeting a potential lover, interests me a lot. Maybe as an epilogue?

(Some parts of TCOT directly reference old literature... I should probably make a post explaining them at some point as well)
