I decided to make playlists for each of the Greek students in The Secret History.

A few things to note about each playlist:

I purposefully made it so that each playlist has exactly 100 songs in it so that I can force myself to discover new music in order to fill out the playlists as well as properly capture an exact vibe while still having diversity in each playlist.

I wanted each playlist to be completely unique, therefore there are no exact overlapping songs in any of them, with the exception of different covers of the same song being in multiple playlists.

This is how I personally interpret each student to an extent, and it may be a bit different compared to others.

The playlists are mostly based off of vibes. There are songs whose lyrics as well as vibe fit the character (in my mind), but there are also songs that are based solely off of the vibe even if the lyrics don't fit.

The songs in each playlist may change over time as I find new music that I feel better fits over another.

I hope that these playlists can be thoroughly enjoyed!

I feel like sparring with Suguru (especially with cult leader! suguru) he would be sooo intimate and mischievously coy with you. Like, it'll be the little fragile finger grazes slipping across your hips, agonizingly slowly. And god, don't even get me started on the way this man swiftly and easily maneuvers manhandles your every abrasive attack, how easily he pins you to the nearest solid object. This sskk moment is really something else:

Fed up with his rudeness , Atsushi talks back to Akutagawa, hitting THAT sensitive topic for him

Atsushi just now realises he hit a sensitive nerve and he's clearly expecting a violent reaction from Akutagawa

Akutagawa doesn't lash out at Atsushi and proceeds to keep walking

Atsushi is surprised by the lack of reaction towards him and proceeds to reach for Akutagawa

Akutagawa really doesn't like to be touched, especially after being insulted

When I was in college, I had a weirdly Christian friend who I only hung out with at three in the morning in the dorm's common room. We'd talk about all kinds of bullshit. Music, religion, hobbies. I don't remember a lot about her, possibly because of chronic sleep deprivation, but I do remember one thing very clearly. I was nervous about a big test I had the next day, and she asked me if I minded if she prayed for me.

I thought about for a couple seconds and then said that no, I didn’t. Which turned out to not be what she wanted to hear.

She gave me the steady, intense look of someone who is about to say something deeply not normal and is perfectly at peace with the fact and said, "I kind of wish you did. It would mean you thought it meant something. The wolf hit with a stone howls the loudest."

And damn if I don't still think about that time to time.

Basically I think that if you're going to insist on the importance of direct and honest communication, you have to not punish the behavior you want to see. You can't go around saying "Don't expect your family/friends/partner/etc to be a mind reader! If you have an issue, you need to communicate it!" while also repeatedly dismissing/belittling/ignoring people who do that, and then act as if someone is dishonest/manipulative/cowardly/bad at expressing themselves when they stop directly telling you what they're thinking or feeling. You're the asshole here, bro.

Time to figure out if the thing she finds sickening is the "concept" of eating food you cooked yourself, or if she can TASTE the sentiment that ends up in all her food, and so assumes that’s the same for everyone. 

Maybe that’s why she’s coming to cooking lessons in the first place - not because she doesn’t know how to do it but because She can TELL the taste is off, but only for her, and now for Doumeki. She’s added an awful vibe to the lovely meal that only she can taste. Some type of deep seated resentment that’s only coming out in the cooking?

And this is such a foreign idea to Watanuki that he has absolutely no frame of reference.
