I just saw that Olivia Plath’s little brother just died from Cerebral Palsy

I just saw that too ☹️ it sounds more like he had an accident trying to do something that CP made difficult, as opposed to the disease itself killing him but either way, it's so sad.

It's sadder because it sounds like she really hasn't been allowed to see him much since her parents don't approve of her 'lifestyle', which I'm sure is heartbreaking since she was in charge of him as a kid. I think it's awful that Olivia has had to deal so much with family that insists on conditional love.

Lydia did a Q&A and UHHHHH. I have some thoughts:

1. Typical Christian dismissal of religious trauma 🥲 as someone who's had this exact phrase ("teenage rebellion") used to justify legitimate questions I had about things that really hurt me, Lydia has lost a lot of points with me here.

2. IDENTIFYING ABUSE IN AN ORGANIZATION IS NOT "CONDEMNING FAITH". (this is obvs more aimed at the question asker)

3. "Actually your siblings don't know what they're talking about regarding their own upbringing and emotional abuse, it was great."

Lydia: "exactly!!!" 😑

4. I'm sorry but some reality TV show viewers have the object permanence abilities of a toddler. Hosanna not being on national TV doesn't automatically mean they all don't see each other 🙄🙄

5. Ok this one I couldn't help but *very politely* reply to because this is not accurate. This is not what Olivia said, she was talking about *her* upbringing, but either way the Plaths also utilized a lot of IBLP-flavored ideology so? It's a fair comparison imo.
