#the problem is refusing to include the starks in it and also the ‘king to heir’ thing.

Came across this dribble on Reddit and was curious what your thoughts would be:
“We see House Stark through the eyes and actions of Ned Stark. As a result, the vast majority of fans end up believing Ned Stark to be representative of the Stark family. But the thing is … Ned Stark is a major aberration from the traditional Stark values. Hence the fan misunderstanding of what House Stark is all about.
The slogan of House Stark is Winter is Coming. And that has been the central guiding philosophy of House Stark and its leaders.
During Winter, the North is all but uninhabitable. If Winter lasts for a year, or years, it means mass starvation and a plummeting of the North’s population. It is the duty of House Stark to minimize the impact of Winter and also to pull the North back to a position of strength after a harsh and terrible winter. It is also imperative for House Stark to recognize that no matter how good things might seem, Winter is Coming. It’s always coming.
For this reason, a “Good Stark” carries the following virtues:
(a) Harsh (some might say … stark) personality
(b) Indifference to Southern politics and affairs
Ned Stark for example lacked the “hardness” of traditional Starks, and was willing to take large risks just so to avoid the murder of children, including Jon Snow, Daenerys, Joffrey, Myrcella and Tommen. Ned Stark also traveled South to serve as Robert’s Hand, married a Tully from the Riverlands, and marched South during Robert’s Rebellion. The same applies to Robb who also marched south after his father’s imprisonment. Robb further deviated from Stark values by marching south during Autumn, the time of year when it was most imperative for Starks to stay in the North, bringing in the harvest, stockpiling food, and preparing for Winter.
Better Stark examples would be e.g. Alaric Stark who had a reputation for being hard and (again) stark. Or Cregan Stark who refused to march during Autumn and only marched south during Winter, after all the harvests were collected, with men who were more than happy to die in battle because that way they would not have to burden their relatives back home and so more of the women and children could survive the harsh winter months (or years).”
First, factual problems. Cregan Stark did not march with "men who were more than happy to die in battle because that way they would not have to burden their relatives back home." The Winter Wolves under Roddy the Ruin were explicitly mentioned as greybeards who would have "gone hunting" during the harsh winter, not Cregan
The idea that the Starks exhibit "indifference to Southern politics and affairs" is laughable. Torrhen Stark put down the Sunderland revolt at Aegon's royal request. Ellard Stark supports Laenor in the Great Council of 101. Cregan Stark became the Hand of the King and purged the royal court and has the Pact of Ice and Fire. Rickon Stark fought so notably in the Conquest of Dorne that Daeron wrote about him. Rickard Stark fought in the War of the Ninepenny Kings and was one of the principle architects of the Southron Ambitions conspiracy. The Kings of Winter fought with the Falcon Kings over the Sisters in the War Across teh Water, playing Reversi with the Arryns for generations. Hell, King Theon Stark sailed across the Narrow Sea to put the fear of the Old Gods in the Andals for daring to try to land on his shores.
Similarly, a "harsh" personality is hardly indicative of all Starks, even restricting it only to the Lords of Winterfell (since discussions of "all Starks" would inevitably run afoul of Sansa Stark, whose most prominent character trait is romantic compassion). Cregan Stark in the Hour of Wolf fights for the sacred body of king Aegon II even though he fought against him in a civil war. To Cregan, the principle was as such that "regicide, even through inaction, must be punished." That's not harsh, that's abiding a set of clearly-defined principles. Alaric spoke fairly harshly with King Jaehaerys in the tomb under Winterfell, but the text displays a fierce love with his brother, so much so that he risked breaking decorum and *almost defending the (he still calls them the "worst", but it's striking that he says the revolt happened due to lack of food as opposed to a condemnation for lack of moral fibre) Night's Watch mutineers just to tell Jaehaerys that it was *his* action that cost the life of his brother and that he could stuff his apologies. Brandon Stark, raised to be the Lord of Winterfell, so fiercely loved and defended his sister that he went down to King's Landing personally to call Rhaegar out.
While GRRM sometimes fumbles the ball and makes some houses extremely one-note to the distinct disadvantage of the story (every Bracken being an asshole makes the Blackwood-Bracken feud weaker), we cannot say that about the Starks. There is some truth in this passage - House Stark rules over lands that are brutalized by the irregular Westerosi seasons and so needs to prepare for winter, hence their house words, but it takes this fact along with some faulty assumptions to jump to a conclusion that's very off the mark.
Thanks for the question, Anon.

House of the Dragon s2e5
The episode deals with the aftermath of the battle and it's a bit slower, but overall I enjoyed it. The show needs to give us more time with the characters before they get killed.
My favourite in this episode was Jace. I loved his negotiation with the Freys to ensure safe passage for Stark reinforcements. I was also thinking that if he gives them Harrenhal, that would solve the problem with paying for the repairs. Jace's initiative and ideas show that he is king material.
Rhaena in the Vale talking with lady Arryn was interesting. Lady Arryn is displeased that she's not getting dragon protection, instead she is forced to protect little dragons. Poor Rhaena tries to spin it, but can't, because facts are facts. Still, lady Arryn is being unfair to Rhaena, who shouldn't be blamed for the situation as she didn't make any of the decisions.
Something I noticed was Aemond's silence this episode. He only speaks at the council when he's voted to be the regent. He doesn't speak to Alicent when they're shown together. He doesn't speak to Helaena when she approaches him. After his betrayal he became so mute and it just seems like a questionable writing choice here. It appears that everyone knows what he did but they're too afraid to call him out.
Also, the Hand should be the regent and I'm a bit surprised no one brought it up instead of Alicent arguing for herself. But I can see why no one wants Cole in that position, including himself.
I quite enjoyed Daemon struggling in the Riverlands. He can't threaten them into obedience with his dragon because he needs an army. He allows Blackwoods to commit atrocities and kidnap people so that Brackens and others would be forced to bend the knee, but instead the lords give Daemon a verbal smackdown.
The general impression in the episode is that Targaryens as a dynasty lost influence among the noble houses. And I think it's not just because of the civil war, but it was a gradual thing happening throughout Viserys's reign.
I like how everyone knows that Daemon and Rhaenyra are having a marital quarrel. They're both struggling without each other, they need each other's support but they're too proud to ask, to try and reconcile.
Interesting that Corlys offered Baela the leadership of Velaryons despite previously not wanting his granddaughters to inherit. I'm starting to think his preference for Lucerys had a lot to do with him having the Velaryon name AND a dragon. Baela doesn't have the name, but maybe she could take it, and she has a dragon. While Corlys previously rejected Rhaena who doesn't have the dragon. He gave all these excuses how his heir needs to know about ships, but both Lucerys and Baela didn't fulfill that requirement. Anyway, good for Baela that she refused, she had a cool moment there.

I know you said that Littlefinger isn't expecting Sandor to steal Sansa away from him, but I'm kinda worried this is just because Sandor isn't trying to do it yet and that once he meets Sansa again Littlefinger will be ready for it
That is a natural concern, but we cannot forget that Sandor and Sansa's friendship was practically a secret. Let's take a look at what Littlefinger knows:
1 - Sandor is a big, scary, disfigured, mean guy who has frightened Sansa more than once. Sansa, the girl who likes everything nice, perfect, and pretty, also refused to sleep with Tyrion, who is constantly described as ugly, even though that was her "duty" as his wife.
2 - Sansa, even as a hostage and "traitor", was seen as worthy of marrying Tyrells, Lannisters, and even the king himself, because house Stark is just the important. House Clegane meanwhile, is only "relevant" to the Lannisters, barely. Sandor is so dehumanized, people constantly call him a dog.
3 - Sandor saved her life - but she is the king's future wife, and a valluable hostage to his bosses. He did this because it's his job, not because he cares about her, riiiiight? He is the hound! He is the king's dog! He said so himself!
4 - Sandor is attracted to Sansa. Big deal, every guy ever thinks she is hot. Sandor never made any move on her and only gets his dick wet by going to brothels. He knows better than to make a move a noble woman, who was supposed to marry the king.
5 - Sansa was nice to him, but Sansa is nice to everybody. Her safety literally depends on it. Of course she's always polite to one of the scariest men of the seven kingdoms.
6 - Sandor left solely because he was in a battle with a ton of people being burned alive and with water not doing shit to control the flames, and since he was badly burned before, that freaked him the fuck out. No other reason. None.
7 - Sansa never so much as said Sandor's name after he left.
8 - Sandor is now either dead or raping and killing people somewhere else. Either way, he doesn't matter.
Imagine you're Littlefinger and want to make sure Sansa never turns against you. Would the guy mentioned above EVER look like a threat to you? Of course not.
He has no idea that:
1 - Sansa is attracted to Sandor even though he is "ugly" and had zero problem calling him out of being a dick, to his face, multiple times.
2 - Sansa is deeply upset that every suitor of hers only wants her because she is a Stark. She wants someone who loves her.
3 - Sandor saved her life multiple times, and even lied to the Lannisters for her. He even listed not being able to protect her as one of the reasons why he deserves to die.
4 - Sandor has made some inappropriate comments towards Sansa when he was drunk, and even tried to kiss her once, which led to her imaging said kiss, being convinced that it actually happened, and dreaming of him in her wedding bed, saying he'd "have a song from her." Despite that, he never forced himself on her, which made her feel safer and less uncomfortable around him than any other man - Littlefinger very much included, because he gave her the creeps on their first damn interaction.
5 - Sansa is the only person Sandor has ever told his secret to, she comforted him after hearing about his childhood trauma, and her kindness meant so much to him that he cried TWICE. She has forgiven him for every shitty behavior he had, and even wonders if she should have left with him because, surprise surprise, she wasn't nice to Sandor just because she had to, but because she liked him.
6 - Sandor didn't immediately leave when he had a PTSD episode - he tried to be Sansa's knight in shinning armor, and he keeps on talking about her all the damn time.
7 - Sansa rarely ever talks about Sandor, but she THINKS about him all the time, dreams of him, wonders where he is, and clearly misses him. She also told Miranda about the time he kissed her (which never actually happened) but didn't mention him by name, and even kept his torn, bloody cloak with her summer dresses.
8 - Sandor is very much alive, and getting that world's equivalent of therapy and rehab. He is getting his shit together, and Sansa will be really proud of him once she hears of it, since she prayed that he would be shown a better, less violent way of living.
So no, Littlefinger won't see it coming, because he has no fucking clue that he "lost" Sansa to Sandor a loooong time ago.
Plus, let's give our girl some credit. When she demonstrated some compassion for Tyrion, Littlefinger tried to kill that by telling the story of Tyrion's first wife, who was given to the guards to be raped by them when he grew bored of her. Even without knowing that story was bullshit, Sansa still thought about how Tyrion, and Sandor, were the ones who protected her when the Lannisters were holding her hostage, and that while Petyr was nice to her now, he is no friend of hers since he didn't do shit to help her when she needed it most - and he has no idea, because she never gave him the chance to realize that she knows he is full of shit, and instead is playing into his expectations of innocent, foolish daughter/replacement Catelyn so he won't figured out that his tricks are not as effective as he thinks.
Imagine if he tried to convince her that "The Hound" is not to be trusted by telling her a bunch of stories she knows are not true because, unlike him, she actually knows Sandor. Sansa would instantly see it as another reason to run from Littlefinger, and right into Sandor's arms, as fast as possible.

Going by GRRM's logic if princesses can't marry someone lowborn bc it's unrealistic, as he was consulted on this likely new Kit's project, wouldn't it be contradictory if Jon (as he's not a bastard) ends up with a random or Val as many have been speculating?
Well, I think we’re gonna have to keep in mind that this sequel is taking place in the Game of Thrones cinematic universe, not ASOIAF which makes it pretty hard to say what can/can’t happen.
And this show isn’t merely in GoT-verse, it’s a direct follow-up and the problem there is that what s7-8 didn't make nonsensical, they left unclear. In s7 I thought it would have made more sense for Jon to have suggested a marriage alliance with Dany (or Tyrion or Davos, our darling matchmakers), but instead D&D had him bend the knee and then had the advisors talk about marriage in s8 when it was totally pointless? Like, Dany had the North, she could use marriage to peacefully bring another region into the fold. So, at that point the logic wasn’t really present and if Kit was influenced by that, where the relationships are  distinct from the political situation, I’m not sure that Martin would be able to course correct this until it makes sense with his opinion.
And, more to the point of your question, the confusion in which D&D left everyone means we don’t even know if Jon is still known as Ned’s bastard or if the news of his parentage got out? Varys found out about Jon and attempted to send that information elsewhere, but I don't know that he succeeded? It may only be the Starks, Tyrion, and Sam who know about it, and since D&D didn't include Robb's will, Jon isn't a legitimized Stark either. Of course, D&D did have him riding around on a dragon, so the Northerners might put two-and-two together in the sequel, it all depends on which story Kit wants to tell. The show could open with his parentage being common knowledge, or the show could take place entirely removed from the Northern Lords and be about Jon and the FF where Jon’s parents don’t matter / the political stuff isn’t a consideration.
Now, even if his parentage isn’t known, as a former king, if we’re thinking about the politics, Jon 100% cannot have kids or it would be a threat to Sansa’s reign. Does Kit think that? Idk! And, even if it isn’t common knowledge, since he knows he was the heir to the Iron Throne, you’d think that would make him hesitate as well or his kids/grandkids might be used against the realm. Does Kit think that? Idk! I also don’t know how much Martin will push to make any of this reasonable. I believe he gives notes on scripts, I don’t know that he gets to give an emphatic no to any developments? And even if they all wanted to bring it closer to ASOIAF because of those developments in GoT, they may be screwed.
As in, in the books it’s possible Jon refuses to be legitimized a Stark or crowned king which means he would have the freedom to marry/have kids without it being a threat to Sansa/her kids after the dust settles. If that’s Martin’s endgame, he might allow it even though in GoT, not only is Jon a legitimate Targ, he was also KitN. So yeah, I would agree with you that marrying a rando doesn’t quite work in that world, but then again, Jon has no political position, so maybe they’ll decide it doesn’t matter? Martin can’t walk back what D&D did, and maybe he’ll be happy with something let’s a little less offensive than s7-8. And they are really leaning into Jon being a Snow for the show (title, Kit made some comments...), so it’s hard to say.
Going back to the confusion in s8 tho, not only do we not know who knows what about Jon’s ancestry, we ended the show not even knowing if Jon was in the Watch/leading it, or if Bran was telling him he was free to go live with the FF which is, to some, what the closing shot indicated. I had one impression, the next day when I got online I saw fans and critics alike all coming to different conclusions, in the months that followed Kit said Jon was with the FF, one of the D’s said he was still in the Watch. I believe different things posted by HBO gave different impressions...It was a mess.
However, Kit’s recent comments made it sound like Jon is at the Wall, and if he’s in the Watch, the question of marriage would be off the table. He could still have an affair, even a kid (insert my previously stated objections), but unless Sansa or Bran (we don’t even know how the North being free impacts things with the Watch) pardons him, he’s not going to be marrying officially even if we do ignore the concerns about him being a former king. I mean, I say that, but I suppose now that the Others are defeated maybe the rules will change/the Watch will evolve? Idk!
Ignoring all the political stuff, Kit’s recent comments in which he made a connection between Cat and his romantic partners in a very negative way made me think he wouldn’t want Jon with a similar woman in his sequel, as the goal seems to be getting Jon healed and happy. That surprised me, and it did make me wonder where Jon’s next love interest would be coming from and doubt that it would be Val when it seemed likely before. While Val isn’t a fighter the same way Ygritte was, she still holds the traditional FF beliefs, she’s already talked about killing a kid and threatened to geld men, she even delivered the “You know nothing, Jon Snow” line once which Kit hates. Obviously they could rewrite her personality, but based on what Kit was saying...I’m not sure that Kit would read her scenes and choose her as the love interest.
All of that being said, in the books Stannis intends to legitimize Jon and marry him to Val,because he perceived Val as a princess, making her a viable prospect.  Jon attempts to explain that Stannis is misunderstanding the FF by   calling her such, and we know that he’s right so this really isn’t a great plan. But, Martin did include a character planning to marry Jon and Val for certain  political ends which I believe was the point of the quote about the princess not being able to marry a stable boy. Highborn people marry other highborns because it’s about benefiting the family/doing something for a specific advantage/accumulating wealth or power or solidifying peace etc, so depending on which scenario they start with, I suppose Kit & Co. could try to run with that? As in, they could take the idea of Jon and a woman of the FF marrying to try to help the two cultures coexist? At the behest of Bran and Sansa who first pardon Jon an then offer him his own lands?  A lot of us thought the idea of the FF going back beyond the Wall was odd, so maybe they’re thinking about going with a settling the Gift idea and this could be included with that.
I suppose I just don’t know what the limits are for the writers and none of the cast or Martin himself have criticized s7-8, so it’s really hard to know what to think!

Another question from me, the annoying neurodivergentguy: What do you think will be the endgame for Jon and Sansa? Do you belive that when all the bad shit is done, that Sansa and Jon will live together? Reunited? Please I've been interested to know your opinions on this! :)
You’re not annoying! Sure my friend, here’s my simplified version:
(Disclaimer: some of this is supported by text, and some of this is a certain amount of guesswork, guaranteed to embarrass me at a later date)
Something will happen in the Vale (lol, that’s the best you’re going to get from me), leading to Sansa being escorted to the Wall by Brienne.
Jon and Sansa will fall in love. Angst.
Jon and Sansa re-take Winterfell. Rickon is... somewhere, doing stuff. Present in some capacity.
The circus comes to town (Robb’s will).
Jon's Targaryen identity is also revealed. Massive tension, unhappy nobles.
Problem solved: Jon and Sansa marry towards the end of TWOW or beginning of ADOS.
Tyrion Lannister: big mad.
Sansa will be impregnated with a son quickly after (shhhh she’s 26 years old, it’s okay), and be stationed permanently at Winterfell with the women, children, elderly and disabled (excluding Bran), while the war versus the Others commences at the Wall. Blackwater Sansa activates.
Not to be forgotten, after giving her mother the gift of mercy and closing the arc that Nymeria started, Arya will at some point make her way to Winterfell. It will be a contentious reunion, with an eventual resolution.
Once that war is completed... somehow, the Starklings & co. (not including pregnant Sansa) will turn their attention southward towards the Trident, where they will bring down Daenerys once and for all. Dorne, Aegon (dead from Daenerys), and Euron (dead from Daenerys) have already taken a good piece of her at this point (bye bye 2-3 dragons).
Similar to the show, I anticipate she’ll be full of hubris, guard down, demanding the North’s fealty (Torrhen callback), and won’t be expecting what’s coming from her nephew. The Targaryen dynasty will die a second (hello Rhaegar) and final time at the Trident, the same location it was born.
Afterwards, I believe there will be some form of a trial, maybe at Harrenhal, where a council is formed, Bran will be declared King, and 1 or 3 Lannisters will be sentenced for their crimes. I am undecided on whether Jon will be offered the Throne and refuse.
Sansa will likely make an appearance here, as Tyrion Lannister and potentially an Older Beautiful Queen will be waiting for her.
Sansa and Jon will return home, where Jon the Builder will focus on the development of The Gift. He’ll integrate the wildings and other subjects to the region, raise new castles, declare new noble houses, arrange marriages, etc. etc.
Sansa will be occupied with re-building Winterfell, and being the Stark matriarch.
They will have 8 (EIGHT!) princes and princesses, because Tully.
Bran will be King.
Arya will become a 9-fingered pirate.
Rickon will be the greatest High Septon the world has ever seen, please don’t try to talk any sense into me, thank you.
The end!
Unfortunately, it’s late at night, and I’m too lazy to provide links for the things that are supported by the text, so you’re just going to have to guess what that is. hahahaha :P
(Disclaimer #2: I reserve the right to change my mind. In fact I fully anticipate somebody will reply in the comments with an obvious detail I’ve forgotten, forcing me to revise.)
Edit: oh and Littlefinger gets squashed by Big Red at some point. ;)

A Rose of Winter - Chapter 10
Summary: All Daniel wanted to do was escape the stifling life as a Stark of Winterfell and travel the world. Between the looming threat North of The Wall and the den of lions in the capital, he unexpectedly finds love in the midst of a war set to tear Westeros apart. Caught between loyalty to his family and duty, he is torn in a thousand directions that all point to one man: Philip Flowers.
Rating: E (There are only a few smut scenes but it's an M for battles, war, and other adult topics)
Tags/warnings: I removed most triggers (no R or SA, no minors involved in sex, no gore). It does include: Deaths either written without details or in a poetic way if it's an important character (Dan and Phil, Ghost and Balerion will live but everyone else is fair game). Strangers to lovers, Slow Burn, missing each other. The prophecies and stories foreshadowed are fulfilled, a satisfying ending to the entire story without plot holes. Extreme canon divergence. Dan and Phil are not replacing characters, they were written in. GAME OF THRONES AU
Author's Note: This is my OSPBB 2022, Couldn't have done it without my betas @effingmeteors and @filisaceaf.
Word Count: Each chapter will be around 15k and have at least one Dan or Phil pov. The total wc is about 210k.
Read on Ao3
DAN
Robbs encampment, travelling northeast to The Twins, Westeros.
The meeting with two of the Frey sons was quite interesting. They seemed to be… not the smartest of the bunch, but intelligence was not a requirement it seemed. They only needed to get Robb to agree to the terms their Lord father had demanded or leave.
They encountered a problem soon enough. Walder Frey wanted Dan to marry one of his daughters in Robb’s stead, given that he was not the heir to Winterfell, nor a Lord, offering Uncle Edmure was accepted readily enough. The secret reason for Dan refusing to marry any of the girls was that he wasn’t attracted to women and even though men marrying each other was accepted all over Westeros, Walder Frey was known for not being so lenient. If Dan set a foot in his castle and he realised this, the chances of him keeping his head on his shoulders were not in his favour.
Harrenhal was also a topic of contention but Robb relented easily enough, after all they were fighting for the North; and Harrenhal was in ruins.
A public apology to each woman in House Frey was also agreed upon, as well as the family staying at The Twins for a fortnight after the celebration.
And so the deal was struck.
---
To everyone’s dismay the trip to The Twins took longer than expected due to the poor weather conditions. With winter slowly making its way south, the rains were increasing, the roads turned to mud, the horses had to tread carefully and the carriages got stuck along the way.
But not all that time was wasted, it allowed them to quietly celebrate the good news. Dan didn’t remember when was the last time he had forgotten about the horrors of war, or - in fact, he did remember, it was with Phil. He wished he could send a raven to King’s Landing and let him know that he was going to be an uncle.
If he closed his eyes he could still see Robb kneeling in front of Talisa, his arms wrapped around her and his face pressed to her stomach, whispering something Dan couldn’t quite catch.
He’d been flustered to witness such an intimate moment but Talisa had smiled at him and extended her hand, inviting him over and whispering into his ear that she was carrying the first of the next generation of Stark children. Dan had hugged her tightly, congratulating her before looking down at his older brother with shining eyes. He looked so proud, so happy and in love. That baby breathed new life into Robb. Now he had something to fight even harder for, a future alongside Talisa and their child; children, if Robb had anything to say about it.
Even their mother was happy for them. She still didn’t fully approve of Talisa but Dan suspected she would never consider a woman good enough for Robb. At least Dan was lucky enough to not be in that position since she had liked Phil well enough.
---
In one of their last strategic meetings, Robb asked Dan and their mother for advice. He knew that attacking Casterly Rock was a bold move and if he were to fail, they would have the same fate as their father, so he asked them what he should do.
Dan stayed silent at first but when their mother said “Let’s show them what it feels like to lose what you love,” he knew that she was right. They had sacrificed a lot, they had lost a lot and it had all started because of the intrigue at King's Landing and the Lannisters’ betrayal.
“It could be the end of our house,” she said, looking at Dan.
“So be it,” he replied.
“Arya could still be alive but she never made it to Jon. He would have sent a raven if she had. He has yet to reply to any of our ravens and our home is in ruins. You need to ride north and look for your sister and your brother, have them help you to bring Winterfell back to life. You can’t do that if Walder Frey takes your head.”
“I don’t want to leave you,” Dan said, but felt Robb’s hand on his shoulder.
“You know you can’t come with us and we need a home to return to; all of us. Find Arya and Jon, see that they are safe and take care of Winterfell for me. I want my children to grow in our home and have a quiet life. Will you do this for me, little brother?”
Dan took a deep breath and let it out slowly. He knew that Winterfell needed a lot of love and work after what Theon -
He didn’t want to think about it. He would take it upon himself to lay his father’s bones and Bran’s body to rest in the Crypts, where they belonged. It seemed it was finally time to go back home.
“Yes, I will.”
“Swear it,” Robb demanded.
Dan kneeled in front of him. “I swear it, Your Grace.”
“Thank you,” he said, kneeling and wrapping him in a tight hug.

TYRION
“I beg your pardon, My Lady,” Tyrion said, promptly turning around right as he saw Shae was helping Sansa change. He shouldn’t have walked in without a proper announcement.
“That is alright, Lord Tyrion, I was just trying on a gown for King Joffrey’s wedding,” she said.
Behind her, Shae was sending him a nasty look while she put Sansa’s hair in order.
“Yes,” he said awkwardly. “It should be quite the wedding.” If he was honest with himself, he was feeling nauseous at the prospect of having to marry the girl and he knew that she would feel exactly the same. “I need to speak with you, My Lady.”
“Of course,” Sansa said, as she held her gown closed with both hands.
“... Alone,” he said.
“Why do you need to speak to her alone?” asked Shae without even trying to hide the casual rapport.
“Shae,” Sansa chastised her. “I apologise, Lord Tyrion, she’s not from here.”
Tyrion smiled at them both and nodded, stepping aside so that Shae could leave the room, but Sansa continued.
“But I do trust her, even if she tells me not to.”
Tyrion groaned inwardly. “Sometimes, we think we may want to hear something and it’s only afterwards that we realise that we wished we would have heard it in entirely different circumstances,” he said, trying to convince Shae to leave for her own good.
“She’s alright - really,” Sansa insisted and Tyrion had no choice but to close the door.
“This is awkward, and I assure you I regret this as much as you will. Please know that I had no part in this decision.”
“What decision, Lord Tyrion?”
“We are to be married - soon.”
Sansa’s lips quivered. “H-How soon?”
“Before the King’s wedding. My father commands it and try as hard as I have, he is not letting us choose.” Tyrion cleared his throat, his eyes welling up with tears when he saw Sansa’s rolling down her cheeks. “I am so sorry, Lady Sansa.”
“Please, leave us.”
He nodded and exited her chambers.
That night, Tyrion had the incredibly difficult task of apologising to Shae, of calming her down as she cried and assuring her that nothing would change between them. His wedding to Sansa had nothing to do with love; it was a matter of duty. He repeated, once again, that he could not leave everything behind and flee with her, but he was starting to second guess that decision. Would it really be so bad? This life was all he ever knew, but Shae had been the only woman - the only person, to love him, just as he was. He wished he could live a long and happy life at her side where nobody knew who they were.
MARGAERY
As soon as she received Joffrey’s invitation, Margaery put on her most form fitting gown and reapplied flower oils between her breasts before sauntering through the Red Keep on her way to The King’s Chambers. One of the Gold Cloaks knocked on the door for her. “Lady Tyrell, My King.”
“Send her in,” he said and the door opened to reveal him once again wearing Lannister gold in a boring style and his petulant smile. He was playing around with a crossbow.
That made her a bit nervous, but instead of moving away from the path of the weapon, she looked around the room, observing the gold bed they were bound to have their wedding night in and all the tasteless gold decorations around it with a big smile. She wondered who picked every item in it. Had it been Joffrey, or Robert, his pretend father? “You called for me, Your Grace?”
“I'm leaving on a hunting trip. I just wanted to make sure you had everything you needed before I left.”
“That's very thoughtful, Your Grace,” she said. “I have everything I could want.”
“Good! How are you finding life from the Capital? Must be quite a change after Renly's camp.”
“A welcome one!” She sat at his side. “A military encampment is no place for a Lady.”
“He was a traitor. It is curious that you were there at all.”
“I tried to do my duty as a sister in law, support my dear brother and assist his wedding. Nothing more. I had my hesitations, but how could I abandon my own family?”
“What hesitations?”
“Well, I wouldn’t want to speak ill of the dead, Your Grace.”
“You think one ought to speak kindly of a traitor merely because he's had a sword
through his heart?” Joffrey snapped, his fingers moving on the crossbow.
Margaery smiled deeply and caressed the weapon until her fingers were touching Joffrey’s softly. “No, I do beg your pardon. The subtleties of politics are often lost on me.”
He looked into her eyes before eyeing her body. “Did he ever touch you?”
“No, Your Grace. He and my brother were very close and I don't believe he was interested in the company of women.”
“He was a known degenerate. I've considered making his perversion punishable by death,” he said.
She played along knowing it was a trap. If she were to defend Loras, she would condemn them both. “As is your right. You must do whatever you need to do,” Margaery said. “You are the King.”
“Yes,” he said proudly. “Yeah, I am.” He lifted the crossbow and showed her it. “Do you like it? I just had it made, probably one of the finest weapons in the Seven Kingdoms.”
“It's beautiful. Will you show me how it works?” She said, trying to sound excited.
He nodded and stood. “It's a new design much easier to load; there's no crank. You use this lever, pull the string both goes here and then you just aim and -” He shot an arrow through a boar that hung from the wall.
She squealed in fake delight, clapping. “Would you take me hunting sometime?” She lowered her arms slowly as she stood  and gave him a submissive look. “I - forgive me, Your Grace. I  know hunting is not a place for a woman. My father would never let me.”
“You no longer belong to him. Do you want to hold it?”
“May I?” She smiled. “Please!” Margaery stood close to him and let him guide her hands and arms on the Crossbow, letting him lean closer to her, almost close enough to press their cheeks together as he looked into the mirror. They looked good together. “I imagine it must be so exciting to squeeze your finger here and watch something die over there.”
“Would you do it? Could you kill something?” He asked, sounding way too happy to discuss death for Margaery’s taste.
“I don't know, Your Grace. Do you think I could?” She wondered if there would come a time when she had to use this weapon on Joffrey to save her own life.
“Yes.”
“Would you like to watch me?”
He wrapped one arm around her waist, pulling her close to him and breathed in her scent. “Yes,” he whispered.
SANSA
Sansa rubbed the tears rolling down her cheek and rested her head on Margaery’s shoulder. “Growing up all I ever wanted was to run away, to leave Winterfell and come here. I was so - stupid.” She hiccuped. “I was just a stupid little girl with a stupid dream who never learned to be happy with the life she had.”
Margaery stood with her and wrapped her arms around her shoulders, pulling her into a hug. “You’re not stupid. You’re a survivor, a warrior,” she said. “Come, let’s walk down to the beach. The sea is so calming.”
Allowing Margaery to guide her, she walked with her new friend and listened to her advice. Even if she was only one year older than Sansa, Margaery was so much wiser than her.
“When I first saw you in the Throne Room, I remember thinking that I had never seen anyone look so unhappy. I want very much for you to be happy, and so does my grandmother.”
Margaery stopped and cut one of the beautiful red roses growing in their garden. “You would have been happy at Highgarden, but women in our position must make the best out of our circumstances,” she said, giving the rose to Sansa, which made her smile even if it was for a brief moment. Then they continued walking, linking arms with Sansa.
“How can I make the best out of my circumstances? I have to marry him.”
“Has Lord Tyrion mistreated you?”
“No,” Sansa admitted.
“Has he been kind to you?”
“He’s tried.”
“You don’t want him though,” Margaery said as they finally made it down the steps carved into the cliff.
“He’s a Lannister.”
“Far from the worst Lannister, wouldn’t you say?” Margaery smiled at her.
Sansa paused, feeling the blush rising to her cheeks. She was so stupid. “I - am so sorry. Here I am complaining to you…”
Margaery shrugged. “My son will be King. Sons learn from their mother and I plan to teach mine a great deal. And your son, if I’m not mistaken, your son may be the Lord of Casterly Rock and The North one day.”
Turning away from Margaery, Sansa looked out to the sea and watched the waves crashing on the shore. “My son - with him. I’ll have to… We’ll have to…”
“If it is the pain you are worried about-”
“It is not the pain I am worried about, not after what Joffrey has done to me. Nothing could ever compare,” Sansa said.
“What is it then?”
Sansa gave her a look.
“Oh, he’s rather good looking, especially with the scar.”
“He’s a dwarf. Phil is…so tall and handsome, Loras too.”
“Some women like tall men, other short men, hairy men, bald men, ugly men, pretty men - pretty girls. You’ll never know until you’ve tried. Tyrion may surprise you. I’ve heard he’s quite experienced. Pleasing us, women, is quite complicated, you know?”
“How do you know all this? Did your mother teach you?”
Margaery gave her a look that Sansa could not quite place and smiled. “Yes, Sansa. My mother taught me,” she smirked.
PHIL
When Phil saw Joffrey asking his Kingsguard to call his grandfather for a private meeting and heading for the Throne Room, he knew he had to listen in. He waited a few minutes and walked his way around The Red Keep, stationing himself near the small council chamber. He made it just in time.
“I’d like a report on the small council meetings.”
“You are welcome to join the council meetings - all of them.”
“I’ve been busy. Many matters require a King’s attention.”
“Of course.”
“You’ve been holding the council meetings in the Tower of The Hand instead of the small council chamber.”
“I have, yes.”
“May I ask why?”
“Well, the Tower of The Hand is where I work, the walk from there to here would take time. Time that I could more efficiently use in other matters.”
“So if I wanted to attend a council meeting I would have to climb all the steps in the Tower of The Hand?”
Phil heard footsteps and peered around the corner. Tywin Lannister approached Joffrey, climbing the steps to the Iron Throne and towered over him, making him cower away from him while still trying to look powerful before the old man. “We could arrange to have you carried,” he said.
Covering his mouth with both hands, Phil shut his eyes and took a deep breath to avoid bursting out laughing. He pressed his back to the wall again.
Joffrey cleared his throat. “Tell me about the Targaryen girl in the East - and her dragons…”
“Where did you hear about this?” Lord Tywin asked.
“Is it true?”
“Apparently so.”
The King huffed. “Don’t you think we should do something about that?”
“When I was Hand of The King for your father’s predecessor, skulls of all the Targaryen dragons were kept in this room. The skull of the last one was right here, by the throne, it was the size of an apple.”
“And the biggest one was the size of a carriage.”
“Yes, and the person to whom it belonged died 300 years ago. Curiosities on the far side of the world are no threat to us.”
“How do we know these curiosities are nothing like the beasts that brought the world to heel?” Joffrey sounded quite alarmed about the dragon threat.
“Because we’ve been told so by the many experts who serve The Realm by counselling the King on matters about which he knows nothing.”
“But I haven’t been counselled,” Joffrey whined.
“You are being counselled at this very moment - since you refuse to join the meetings.”
“I would like to be consulted on this matter.”
“I will see to it that you are consulted on important matters,” he relented. “Your Grace,” he said and left.
Phil bit his lip and hoped he got to see the dragons up close when the time came.
ARYA
The Kingsroad, Westeros.
Just when they thought they were making good progress north, Arya, Gendry, and Hot Pie heard a group of men coming towards them through the woods and took refuge behind a big tree.
“Come out, come out wherever you are,” said one of them.
Arya looked at her friends and shook her head.
“If you show yourselves we may not hurt you,” said another one.
Arya sighed and came out of hiding looking at them with her sword drawn. “What do you want?”
“We just want to know what you are doing wandering in the forest. There’s a war raging all around!”
“I was just hunting, that’s all.”
“Hmm, and what about your little friends? The tall one and the little fat one?”
Gendry looked at her with resignation written all over his face and stood beside her, Hot Pie following shortly. She knew exactly what they were thinking, it was only their luck to find someone else to capture them.
“Don’t hurt us, we just want to cross.”
“Where are you really going?”
“Where are your banners? Who are you fighting for?” Arya asked.
“Girl, we are the Brotherhood without Banners. We serve no one but ourselves.” The man said. “What is your name?”
“I am Arri, this is Gendry and this is Hot Pie. We are going north.”
“There’s nothing for you north.”
“There’s nothing for me here.”
“Very true. Well, come along. We will feed you and send you on your way.”
“We would rather go our separate way,” Gendry said.
“We weren’t asking,” the man with the eye patch said.
Hot Pie threw his sword in front of him and shrugged at Arya. They were outnumbered anyway.
--
Their names were Beric Dondarrion, Thoros of Myr, Morgan, Steve and Rydell. Oddly enough, the group did take them to an Inn and bought them food. They wanted to know more about them and had mistaken them for refugees. Arya thought their brief adventure had come to an end when another member of the brotherhood walked in with a prisoner.
She thanked them for the meal and asked her friends to hurry along, keeping her head down as she rushed past The Hound.
The moment he set eyes on her, he seemed enraged. “What are you doing with a Stark bitch?”
“A Stark? Why didn’t you say that?” They captured her this time, a Stark would be of high value after all, but set her two friends free.
Hot Pie was asked to stay back and work for the Inn, while Gendry decided to join the Brotherhood since he didn’t really have anywhere to go and he could help them with their weapons.
Arya was touched when she hugged Hot Pie good bye. He presented her with bread in the shape of a wolf; a wolf who had a very odd looking tail. Now that he knew her real identity, he wanted to honour her house as a tribute for their time together. And so she waved at him as she was carried in Beric Dondarrion’s horse.
The following days were a mess of fights, magical stories, lots of fighting and a trial by combat for The Hound inside the Brotherhood’s hidden cave. Even though she begged them to execute him, they wanted their god to decide his fate. By the fire, Beric fought with him, hoping to send him to his maker, but The Hound defeated him and stuck his sword through him, killing Beric in a matter of seconds.
Thoros of Myr, the Red Priest, kneeled at his side and pressed his hands to Beric, muttering words in a language Arya couldn't even begin to understand, he brought him back to life.
Arya had never seen anything like that.
A woman dressed entirely in red joined them shortly after and recognised Arya immediately. She said Arya had a great future ahead of her and in her eyes she could see others, brown eyes, green eyes, blue eyes - eyes that she would shut forever. She advised the Brotherhood to let her go, but in the end they decided to pass her to The Hound, who promised to take her to her brother Robb.
That was not the only surprise of the night either. The red woman said Gendry was Robert Baratheon’s bastard and that she would have wanted to find him sooner, but the opportunity had passed. She said she was travelling north to help at The Wall, and that she hoped to see Arya again when the time was right.
Her head felt ready to burst. Arya was exhausted, she could barely wrap her mind around all the new information she had learned and was extremely tired of being captured and carried around Westeros as a hostage - tired of running and hiding. She decided that she would join The Hound, let him think she would not escape at the first opportunity, and simply kill him in his sleep, finally claiming her revenge for the life of the friend he had killed on the Kingsroad.
How hard could it be?

DAENERYS
Agreeing to the purchase of the entire Unsullied army, those children in training and even the girl that served the slave master as a translator, Daenerys risked it all by promising one of her dragons in exchange. It was a dangerous move, but she had very little to lose and a lot to gain.
Once the deal was sealed, she walked away with the girl, Missandei, and asked her many questions. She confirmed the obedience of The Unsullied would be hers the moment she had bought them. Danny learned that Missandei had no family to turn to and invited her to join her, but she made sure Missandei understood that Daenerys was going to war, and that meant that if she joined the campaign, she could get sick, go hungry, or die.
Missandei was a smart girl and had already lived through so much at her young age, it pleased Daenerys when she said ‘Valar Morghulis.’ It was true, ‘All men must die’ but luckily they were not men.
--
Danny could feel the excitement running through her when she saw the army formed before her, all the men, and the children ready to follow her wherever she went. Her chances of retaking Westeros were increasing by the second.
The slave master continued to make insulting comments about her, her body, her intelligence and everything he could think of but Danny didn’t flinch; instead, she smiled and pulled Drogon out of his cage, putting a chain around one of his legs and handing it to the master.
He insulted her some more as he gave her the whip, the clear and physical sign of ownership of the army she needed. This mere gesture meant that she was now in charge of the men. She turned around and showed them it so that they received the message. Then she ordered them in Valyrian.
“Unsullied, march forward,” she said and they did instantly, stopping at her command.
The slave master huffed at the way Drogon was trying to escape from him. “Tell that bitch that the dragon won’t stay still!”
“A dragon is not a slave,” she replied.
“You speak Valyrian?!”
“I am Daenerys Stormborn, of House Targaryen, from the blood of Old Valyria. Valyrian is my mother tongue.” She smiled and turned to her army once again. “Unsullied! Slay the slave masters, the soldiers and any man who holds a whip but harm no child! Strike the chain of every slave you see!”
The Unsullied turned to the slave masters holding wips between their ranks and slaughtered them. She then turned to the richest slave master, the one that stroke the deal with her, watched as he asked his guards to kill her. Danny smiled at him one last time before saying “Dracarys!”
Drogon spat fire at him, giving him a painful end to the slave master’s life and freeing himself of the man’s grasp before directing his flames at the city guards.
By the time the sun started to go down in the horizon, all the slavers and their guards were dead and her army stood still, awaiting her command. She walked between them and got on a horse to be able to see them all better and let them see her. “Unsullied! You’ve been slaves all your life. Today you are free. Any man who wishes to leave, may leave and no one will harm him. I give you my word. Will you fight for me as free men?”
For a moment, there was complete silence. Nobody moved or spoke a single word, but then, slowly, the Unsullied started to hit the ground with their spears rhythmically. She smiled and led her army of free men to the next slave city in the bay, throwing the whip that had given her the initial power over the Unsullied, knowing she no longer needed it. Another battle won, another braid to be added to her head.

MARGAERY
“You look radiant,Your Grace,” Margaery said, linking her arm with Cersei’s and walking down the steps of the Sept of Baelor in the direction of their spots for Sansa’s wedding. “We’re going to be sisters, you and I. We should be friends!”
“You’re a musical girl, aren’t you? I bet you have a lovely voice.”
Margaery laughed. “I’m a better dancer than a singer, I’m afraid.”
“Oh, but you know the song ‘The Rains of Castamere,’ don’t you?”
“Of course, how could I not when it’s played so often at Court.”
“So you know the story of house Reyne of Castamere?”
Oh, Margaery could see where this was going. “Not as well as you, I’m sure.”
Cersei smiled deeply. “House Reyne was a powerful family, the second wealthiest of all of Westeros. Isn’t your house the second wealthiest now?”
Margaery smiled and nodded.
“Of course, ambitious climbers don’t want to stop at the second highest rung, they always want to take that final step. So Lord Reyne built a Castle as grand as Casterly Rock, borrowed money from my father for it and when the time to pay came, he refused. He rebelled against The Lannisters despite all the warnings he was given and took every member of his family to the lower levels of the Castle, where they had mines. Do you know where House Reyne is now?”
“Gone.”
“Gone? That’s a gentle word; they were slaughtered. They thought they would withstand the siege and any attack from above but my father redirected the course of a nearby river and flooded the castle. For hours and hours screams and knocking could be heard until the castle was left in complete silence,” She said with morbid satisfaction. “I remember seeing their bodies hanging in Casterly Rock. Father left them there all summer - and it was a long summer.” Cersei turned to her and recited the words of the song. “And now the rains weep all their halls with not a soul to hear...” She leaned and whispered into Margaery’s ear. “If you call me sister again I will have you strangled in your sleep.”
She finally turned and left, leaving Margaery shaking slightly, trying to take calming breaths. Cersei could remind her of the Lannister cruelty, but she forgot that the Tyrells did things differently and Margaery would beat her at her own game with no bloodshed at all.
SANSA
Sansa walked to the Sept with Lord Tyrion without problem. He was kind enough to lead her by the hand but once they arrived at their destination, he walked in first and stood at the altar. She smoothed her embroidered dress that included details from House Lannister in the form of  gold Lions and a call to both houses in red weirwood leaves. Sadly, she didn’t dare add any references to the North.
The doors opened and she looked inside to the Court, every one of the nobles looking at her, some with pity, some with a triumphant smirk on their faces. Sansa wished she could run; if she could only turn around and -
An arm twisting around her own caught her off guard. It was Joffrey.
What are you doing?” She asked before she could stop herself.
He smirked at her and looked around the room with a pleased expression. This was yet another opportunity to humiliate her. “Your father is gone. As the Father of The Realm it is my duty to give you away to your husband.”
She looked straight ahead and started walking. As she was approaching the altar, her eyes met Margaery’s who smiled at her in encouragement. She was wearing a light blue gauze dress with golden roses embroidered in the bodice that fit her perfectly, unlike her own wedding dress that made her feel trapped and inadequate.
When they got to the altar, Joffrey let go of her arm but took a moment to remove the stepping stool Tyrion had set up in front of him to make the ceremony easier.
Without even mentioning it, the High Septon said: “You may cloak the bride and bring her under your protection.”
Sansa turned around and waited for Tyrion to carry on, but she looked over her shoulder when she heard laughter. Joffrey started first, and the nobles followed as the mindless idiots they were. She blushed when Tyrion asked her to kneel, but did so without question. Once she felt the red velvet cloak on her shoulders, she stood.
The High Septon nodded and looked all around them, addressing everyone by title. “Your Grace, Your Grace, My Lords, My ladies…”
She could barely remember what happened after that, opting for keeping her mind preoccupied on new embroidery designs she could work on.
---
The celebration was a disaster as expected for a wedding in which both parties were extremely unhappy with their spouse. Sansa tried to keep her eyes on her plate and eat since the food was nice enough, but Tyrion was not coping well and decided to drown his sorrows. By the time dinner was done he could barely remain in his seat but he kept drinking nonetheless. Sansa excused herself and walked away, chatting with Lord Varys and Shae but she couldn’t quite focus on the matters at hand when she could see Tywin Lannister hovering over Tyrion, chastising him about something.
Unfortunately, she couldn’t hear them either but she did hear Olenna Tyrell trying to decipher what the implications would be after Margaery had wedded Joffrey and Loras became Cersei’s husband. She took a few minutes on this topic only to arrive at the conclusion that Loras would become Margaery’s father in law. It was yet another unfortunate situation but it brought a smile to Sansa’s lips, even if Loras was upset about the entire topic.
“You know, it is customary for the King to visit a bride on her wedding night. I could stop by after my uncle has passed out,” Joffrey whispered in her ear.
She took three steps back and almost fell down a short set of stairs.
“No? You wouldn’t like that?” Joffrey smirked. “Somebody had to put a Lannister child in you but I assume you don’t care which Lannister it is.”
Unhappy with her lack of reaction, he clapped loudly to get the attention of the court. “Everyone pick the groom and the bride up. It’s time for the bedding ceremony!”
“There won’t be a bedding ceremony,” Tyrion said.
“Oh, uncle, you can’t disregard the tradition!”
“There won’t be a bedding ceremony!” He repeated, this time in a louder tone.
Like a child who doesn’t like being told no, Joffrey’s smile disappeared. “There will be if I command it.”
Tyrion grabbed a knife and jabbed it into the table. “There won’t be one, or you will be fucking your own wife with a wooden cock.”
“What did you say?”Joffrey leaned over the table, setting his hands on it and staring into Tyrion’s eyes with pure rage. “What did you say!?”
Lord Tywing stood from his seat and said: “I believe we can dispense with the bedding ceremony, Your Grace.” He paused. “I’m sure Tyrion didn’t mean to threaten the King.”
Tyrion laughed maniacally and acted more drunk than he truly was. “It is true! It was just a joke out of jealousy of your own royal manhood,” he downed his glass of wine. “Mine is so small! My poor wife won’t even know I’m there!”
“Your uncle is clearly quite drunk, Your Grace,” Tywin added.
“I am! Guilty!” he said, standing up and stumbling all the way to Sansa. “But it is my wedding night, my tiny drunk cock and I have a job to do!”
They walked to their chambers among whispers of the entire court.
Once the door to their chambers had closed behind them, Tyrion poured himself more wine.
“Is that wise, My Lord?” She asked.
“Tyrion. My name is Tyrion and you are my wife. No need for the title.”
“Is that wise, Tyrion?”
“Nothing has even been wiser. My Lord father has commanded that I consummate this marriage.”
Sansa’s hands were sweating. She walked to the table and poured herself a glass of wine, drinking it as fast as she could. Then, she walked to the bed and turned around before starting to unlace her dress.
“What are you doing?” he asked.
“I’m -” she tried but her voice shook too much.
“No, no, no. I know you don’t want to. I would never, I could never.”
“What about your father?” Sansa asked.
“If my father wants someone fucked I know where he can start,” Tyrion said. “Nothing will happen until you want to.”
“And if I never want to?” She asked.
Tyrion shrugged and poured himself more wine, laying down on the sofa near the window. “And now my watch begins.”

CATELYN *** tw (skip to Tyrion's pov and read the notes in the end if you're squirmish)
The day had been exhausting so far. Tensions ran high for the first half, Robb having to apologise to each and every one of the Frey daughters for breaking his vow and having to stand quietly while Walder Frey referred to Talisa as a tight fit with nice tits. Thankfully, Edmure's offer to marry one of the Frey girls in Robb’s stead had appeased the moody old man.
After that, they had kept to themselves, getting ready for the ceremony in their own tents.
The wedding went by in a breeze, much like Robb’s, but Edmure was elated to see that his young wife was very beautiful and sweet-tempered. He’d spent the entire night chatting with her and gazing into her eyes. It was a happy ending after all. He had complained all the way from Riverrun to The Twins about having to marry one of the ugly girls, but he’d gotten a reward instead.
She looked around and smiled. Robb sat next to Talisa, a hand on her stomach, already in love with their child even if he hadn’t gotten to meet them. He reminded her of Ned when Robb was born. Days he’d spent looking at him by the fireplace, checking that he was still breathing, helping her take care of their little one; but now… he was a man, and soon he would be a father.
She hoped to live many years and watch his boy become a loving father, to care for her grandchildren and watch them grow. She had once rejected a little boy because she resented his mother, but she wouldn’t make that mistake again. Talisa was a good woman and she would be a fit mother and Queen for Robb.
“The Septon has prayed his prayers, some words were said and Lord Edmure has wrapped my daughter in a cloak, but they are not yet man and wife…”
A murmur of approval ran through the room.
“A sword needs its sheath!” Frey added and his sons laughed at the joke, banging on the tables. “And the wedding needs a bedding! What does my Sire say?” he asked, looking at Robb.
“If you think the time is right, Lord Walder, then by all means… let us bed them!” Robb said with a wide smile.
People from every table cheered and rushed to carry the bride and groom out of the room in the direction of their private chambers, where they would consummate the wedding and potentially start a new family, a new era with houses Tully and Frey joined as one.
Once the wedded couple had left, the doors closed and the music resumed, a slow rhythm that sounded vaguely familiar but -
There was something stirring inside Catelyn, her blood ran cold in her veins, the hairs in the back of her neck stood. Everywhere she looked, nobody seemed to notice, until Walder Frey spoke again.
“Your Grace, I feel I've been remiss in my duties. I've given you meat and wine and music, but I haven’t shown you the hospitality you deserve. My King has married and I owe my new Queen a wedding gift.”
Catelyn frowned and looked at Roose Bolton sitting at her side. He smirked and raised his long sleeve to show her a chainmail armour he wore under his clothes.
She stood so fast the chair fell to the ground with a bang. “Robb! Run!” She screamed but before she could even take a step toward her son, one of the Frey men rushed to Talisa and stabbed her in the heart.
Robb killed him on the spot but the archers stationed in the minstrel’s gallery were too quick for him to avoid the attack. Their arrows flew right into Robb’s chest before he could take another step.
Catelyn saw movement under the main table and dragged the woman by the hair. “Lord Walder, let him go. Let my son go and I will forget this. He’s my son, my first son.”
Robb dragged himself towards Talisa and held her in her arms, watching the life escape her, his hands on her stomach, uselessly trying to protect that child that would never be born.
“The King in The North rises!” Frey smirked.
She cried, trying to plead with Walder Frey; she knew it was impossible, but she had to try, she had to protect her boy. “By the Old Gods and The New, by my honour as a Tully, by my honour as a Stark, I swear to you, we will seek no vengeance if you let him go. Take me as your prisoner, keep me, but let him go!”
“Why would I do that? You already swore an oath to me by The Old Gods in this same castle. You said your son would marry one of my daughters! And you broke that promise.”
As she held the knife to Frey’s young wife, she screamed. “Robb, you need to stand up and walk out. Stand up! Please.” Her voice was hoarse, she could hardly speak, but she screamed at him. “Robb! Please!”
He slowly stood and looked at her, his eyes lost, his expression vacant. “Mother,” he said, barely above a whisper.
Bolton rushed to him. “The Lannisters send their regards,” he said and buried his dagger in Robb’s stomach, crimson running freely from him, like a river, mixing with Talisa’s as he fell beside her, reaching with his hand towards hers as he gave his last breath.
Catelyn screamed at the top of her lungs as she watched him die. She could no longer continue, there was no point. In her mind and in her heart she begged Dan, Arya, and Sansa for forgiveness for abandoning them, but the time had come for her to join Ned and Bran on the other side. She slit the woman’s throat and stared into the distance, yelling until she felt something warm in her neck and her vision went black.
DAN
Despite his mother’s warning, Dan decided to stop by The Twins, to see how the celebration was going. Still, he approached the castle from the side, hiding from sight, keeping his hood up. Dan looked over his shoulder and realised Balerion was gone.
He could feel his beating heart in his throat as he looked around and saw him next to a wooden cage. He’d found Greywind.
Dan walked across the field towards the cage but someone stopped him, turning him around swiftly and lowering his hood. “I know you, you are that little Stark boy, you sit right next to the King!”
“I’m sorry, My Lord, I believe you have mistaken me for someone else!” Dan considered his choices wisely. He could probably reach for his dagger but he could feel that there was another man behind him. Whatever was going to happen, needed to happen soon. He was right. He confirmed it was too late when he felt a blow to the back of his head and his world turned black.
When Dan came to, he was tied to a tree with the man kicking at his boots. He was not too far from the Castle, since he could still hear the celebration.
Then - The Rains of Castamere started playing in the Castle and the murmur of the party died down before the screaming started.
“What’s happening?” Dan asked, his stomach twisting into knots. This could not be good.
“You’ll see!” The man said with a cruel laugh that sounded much like a cough. “I'll have a sweet reward for you, I'm sure. But we can't interrupt the fun now, I'll take you to the Lord m'self”
Dan took a deep breath and shut his eyes, trying to find Balerion. It took him a few seconds with the man screaming in his face, but he finally managed to enter his wolf’s mind.
He approached the castle gates, trying to stay hidden, but he could hear yelling of men and women and then - his blood froze in his veins, a chill running down his spine. He heard his mother scream, begging for mercy for Robb, and for her to be taken as prisoner instead but, when he heard his mother’s wordless scream, he knew all negotiations had failed.
The gates opened and out came a cluster of Frey men. “Where is the wolf? We need its head!” yelled someone and Dan ran back to Greywind.
Two Frey men approached the cage with crossbows, and opened it but Dan attacked and went for their throats, killing them before they could hurt him. He looked into Greywind’s sad eyes and guided him to the tree.
Dan opened his eyes and felt his head pounding, the scene in front of him swirling as the wolves killed his captor. He tried to speak, but his throat was hoarse as if he’d been screaming. He felt the tears rolling down his cheeks as he tried to untie himself but was unable to.
Balerion chewed on the ropes and let him free, but even then Dan had trouble standing up. He looked over to the Castle and saw his family being displayed as the Freys chanted “The King in The North! The King in The North.” Robb’s headless body sat atop his horse, their mother and Talisa hung from ropes on the wall behind it, their bodies seeming to have been dragged through the mud. Feeling a wave of sickness washing over him, he fell to his knees and emptied his stomach, coughing and gagging. It was over; it was all over. He could either run or die fighting. His deepest wish was to join his family, but -
He’d made an oath. He promised to go north, to find if Arya had made it to Jon, keep her safe, and make Winterfell a home again. But, his mission was, above all, to survive. He was the last Stark man now. He shouldn’t even be here. It was time to go home.
Balerion whined beside him and tried to carry him, Greywind coming to their aid. He wrapped his arms around his wolf and let himself be carried down to the river. Dan cut the rope of a small boat and sailed north with the sleeping wolves, hoping to survive the night to keep all of his promises.
Only when the sun rose above Westeros, did Dan allow himself to break down and cry for the loss of his family. His heart shattered thinking of Robb and their mother, of poor Talisa and her unborn child. He had been an uncle, Robb had been a father, Talisa a mother, and their mother a grandmother. They had been a family. Now none of those things were true, only he remained.
ARYA
Arya sat in the back of the cart The Hound had stolen from a farmer after helping him fix it. They made it to The Twins but a guard stopped them insisting that the wedding celebration was over and they were to turn around. The Hound argued with him, wasting precious time, she was finally close to reuniting with her family and she wasn’t going to let anyone ruin that. She rolled her eyes and got off as quietly as possible, walking past them with other soldiers.
She frowned when she spotted Balerion hiding near the Castle, whining. Suddenly the gates opened and the Freys came out with the bodies of her mother, brother, and a woman she didn’t know. She unsheathed her sword and looked around for Dan but couldn’t see him, so instead she ran for Greywind’s cage, trying to catch up to the soldiers that had been ordered to bring him. She was almost there but someone grabbed the back of her coat.
“It’s too late,” The Hound said.
“Let me go!” She screamed.
“There’s nothing you can do,” was the last thing she heard before he knocked her unconscious.

TYRION
Married life hadn’t been as horrible as he’d thought. Sansa and him had a few things in common and were able to find an amicable middle ground to enjoy just enough of each other’s company to keep appearances. Of course, Shae was incredibly jealous but they could at least meet in peace without anyone snooping around now that he had an actual wife.
He strolled through the gardens with both of them, which was a bit weird in on itself but found it quite enjoyable, when two noble men laughed at him. Not a new experience for him, but Sansa gave him the idea to put sheep shit into their mattress and sew the hole close to make their chambers stink without them knowing where the smell came from. She was a vengeful girl but still had it in her to laugh and speak about the treacherous things Arya did when she was mad at her.
For Sansa’s sake he hoped that little Arya was alive somewhere, the poor girl had suffered enough.
Podrick ran up to them, bowing to Sansa. “Lord Tyrion, the council has called an urgent meeting, Lord Tywin has said that your presence is required.”
“Thank you, Pod,” said Tyrion before turning to Sansa. “My Lady, please enjoy the rest of the afternoon.” He looked at Shae out of the corner of his eye but smiled when he saw her smiling.
--
It was quite alarming to enter the council meeting and not only find Joffrey there, which was odd enough, but to see him smiling so widely. “Have you killed many puppies today?”
“Show him!” he said excitedly, pointing to Pycelle.
The old Maester gave him a rolled up message that made him sick to his stomach. “Roslin caught a fine fat trout. Her brothers gave her a pair of wolf pelts for her wedding. Signed, Walder Frey” He knew it couldn’t be good, it seemed that they had captured the Starks. Still, wanting to confirm his theory, he said: “What is this? Bad poetry?”
Joffrey laughed. “Robb Stark is dead! And his bitch mother!” He then looked at Maester Pycelle. “Send a message to Walder Frey thanking him for his service and demand that he sends Robb Stark’s head; I’m going to serve it to Sansa at my wedding!”
Varys’ face twisted in disgust before he schooled his features into a neutral expression. “Your Grace, Lady Sansa is your aunt by marriage.”
Cersei Laughed. “It’s a joke; Joffrey did not mean it.”
“Yes, I did. I’m going to have it served to Sansa at my wedding feast.”
“No. She’s no longer yours to torment,” Tyrion said.
The little brat’s face twisted in rage, just like every time someone contradicted him in any matter, “Everyone is mine to torment. You’ll do well to remember that, little monster.”
“Oh, I’m a monster! Perhaps you should speak to me more softly then. Monsters are dangerous and just now Kings are dying like flies,” Tyrion said, pleased to see Varys’ lips twitch into a smile for just a second.
“I could have your tongue out for saying that.”
Cersei grabbed his hand and comforted him. “Let him make his threats, hmm? He’s a bitter little man.”
Pycelle, of course, took the opportunity to cause more conflict. “Lord Tyrion should apologise immediately. Unacceptable, disrespectful and in very bad taste!”
Pulling his hand from his mother’s grasp swiftly, Joffrey screamed: “I am The King! I will punish you!”
Tyrion’s father took a sip of wine and set his glass on the table. “Any man who needs to say I am The King is no true King. I made sure you understood that when I won your war for you.”
“My father won the real war. He killed Prince Rhaegar! He took the crown while you hid in Casterly Rock!”
Tyrion did hate Joffrey, but he was hesitantly agreeing with him in his mind. Robert had won the crown while the Lannister army waited just to join and support whoever was winning, making sure to be in good graces with the crown. The problem was that Tywin Lannister did not like to be called on his tactics.
“The King is tired, see him to his chambers,” he said as he looked into Joffrey’s eyes with what could only be classified as contained rage.
Cersei stood from her chair, pulling at her son’s arm, knowing too well not to defy her father. “Come along.”
“I’m not tired,” Joffrey mumbled.
“We have so much to celebrate,” she continued as if she had not heard him. “We have a wedding to plan, you must rest.”
Joffrey finally relented and followed his mother to the door.
“Grand Maester, perhaps some essence of nightshade could help him sleep,” His father said.
Turning around swiftly, Joffrey looked at his Hand and yelled: “I’m not tired!” But he still followed Cersei out of the meeting.
After deciding to name Roose Bolton as Warden of the North and Walder Frey as Lord of Harrenhal, the meeting was adjourned.
Tyrion ran as fast as he could in search of Sansa, but she was no longer in the gardens, nor with her ladies, or even with Shae. He ran to her bedroom to be the one to give her the horrible news and offer her support but upon opening the door, he knew he hadn’t made it in time. She sat by the window, looking out to the sea and crying so hard he thought she was going to faint at any given moment.
Not knowing what to say, he placed his hand on hers but she rejected him. It was understandable, his family had killed hers. “I will give you privacy, My Lady. If there is anything I can do for you, please do not hesitate to let me know,” he said, but Sansa didn’t answer. “I assure you I didn’t know.”
“Leave!” She whispered without even looking at him. Still he nodded and left, going in search of Shae so that she could be with Sansa and be the friend she needed.
SAM
Sam panted as he climbed the last steps of the stairs leading into the castle but as soon as he set a foot inside, someone knocked him into the ground. To his surprise, he found himself with a knife held to his throat and on the other side, a young girl.
“Please don’t hurt me,” he pleaded. He then looked around and saw two boys and a very tall man.
“Don’t hurt him - please,” said Gilly when she climbed up the steps. The girl almost killed her on instinct but saw the baby and froze.
“Who are you?” Asked the girl.
“I am a brother of the Night’s Watch, we are going to Castle Black,” he said.
“My brother is at Castle Black,” one of the boys said.
Sam frowned. “Who are you?”
“No one,” said the older boy.
Looking to his right, Sam saw a direwolf and smiled. “You are Jon’s brother, the one who fell from the window; that means that you are my brother too. I wouldn’t be alive if it wasn’t for him.”
“No, he’s not,” said the girl.
“I know a direwolf when I see one, been around Ghost long enough to recognize them. And I’ve heard all about Hodor,” Sam added with a smile. Hodor smiled back and nodded. “If there’s anything I can do for you, I will.”
The girl stepped aside, joining the group on the other side of the room but still looking at him and Gilly with suspicion.
“Take us north of The Wall,” the boy said… Bran was his name.
“You should come with us to Castle Black. If Jon is alive that’s where he’ll be. Beyond The Wall there’s only death.”
“We know what awaits us in the North. No Kings or their armies will stop them.” The other boy said.
“Do you plan to stop them?” Sam said, looking at Bran.
“I wish I could come with you, but I have to go. I have to.”
Looking at Gilly and the baby, Sam nodded in agreement. “There are steps carved into the rock, then there’s a tunnel and a Sally Port that is hidden. Hodor can carry you without problem. Follow me.”
He didn’t want to think about the possibility that Jon was dead, or that this could be the only chance for the brothers to meet again before one of them passed. He had made Bran a promise and he would keep it, even if he didn’t agree.
He asked Gilly to stay inside with the baby and climbed down the steps once again, leading the odd party north of The Wall.

JON
It took them weeks to return, but they managed it. Some of the others that had not stopped at Craster’s were already back, including Thorne, who was running Castle Black in their Lord Commander’s stead.
Jon felt his stomach drop every time he thought about Mormont. For him, he would try to get along with Ser Alliser. It was not a surprise to know that the gate had taken so long to open for them because of who was in charge. Only Maester Aemon had reprimanded him.
Things would never be what they once were. They had to relay all the information they had learned beyond The Wall, about Mance’s army of wildings which was big enough to overpower their forces in seconds, an army of Wights that extended as far as the eye could see, commanded by several White Walkers and one of the worse winters in the history of Westeros was coming south.
For killing his own brothers, Jon was put on trial. Grenn and Edd were spared because they hadn’t had problems with those they killed beforehand, but Thorne was accusing him and only him of instigating the mutiny and taking advantage of the situation to kill other men of The Watch, particularly Rast who was Alliser’s favourite.
It was all a sham and attempt to hang him merely because Thorne didn’t like him at all, but Jon stayed calm and explained everything as best as he could.
While Ser Janos Slynt agreed with everything Thorne said, Maester Aemon took an interest in the details of how everything went down. The babes being sacrificed to the White Walkers, Craster’s cruelty towards everything, and his disposition for violence when The Watch arrived at the keep. He also asked who had initiated the attack, who had instigated the mutiny and who had stabbed Lord Commander Mormont.
Grenn and Edd were questioned separately to verify the facts, and taking everything into account, Maester Aemon managed to convince the others to let Jon live. He had been justified in his actions and they couldn’t afford to lose any men with the upcoming difficulties.
Ravens were immediately sent to every house, requesting help and letting them know about the threat up beyond The Wall.

DAENERYS
On her way to Yunkai, the closest slave city in the bay, Daenerys took the opportunity to get to know her men better. Missandei was able to find the group of men that were trained the longest and bring them to her. They didn’t speak the common tongue, but that didn’t matter to her. “Unsullied, you did not choose this life, but you are free men now and can make your choices. Have you selected your own leader between your ranks?”
Instead of answering, they stepped aside revealing a man. He was dressed exactly the same as the rest of them, black pants and leather vest, black helmet covering his entire face, a black shield and spear.
“Remove your helmet,” she requested. He did and Danny didn’t know what she had been expecting but it took her by surprise to see a handsome young man, probably around her own and Missandei’s age. With hair barely growing after being shaved, and his face was soft and gentle despite the cruel life he had lived so far.
“It is an honour,” he said in Valyrian.
“What is your name?”
“Grey worm.”
“Grey worm,” Daenerys repeated and looked at Missandei for help.
“All Unsullied are given new names when they are cut. Grey Worm, Red Flea, Black Rat - all names that remind them what they are.”
Daenerys nodded. “From this day forward, you will choose your own name and you will tell your fellow soldiers to do the same. Throw away your slave name, choose the one your parents gave you or any other. Get a name that gives you pride.”
“Grey worm is a lucky name. It was the name I had when I became a free man and it fills me with pride.”
She smiled at him and let him join the ranks once again.
---
The plan to free Yunkai was supported by Ser Barristan since they trained household slaves instead of warriors and it would be easily overtaken by The Unsullied. Jorah, on the other hand, thought the slavers would employ guerilla tactics against her and it could be quite dangerous.
Their reconnaissance mission showed that the city was guarded by an army of sellswords. Jorah knew them by reputation and by their broken banners; they called themselves The Second Sons. Knowing their numbers were inferior, Danny requested a meeting with the Commander of the army to offer him fighting on her side instead.
The second sons had three Captains, even if one of them had power over the other two. Mero of Braavos, joined the meeting along with Prendahl na Ghezn and Daario Naharis.
Mero was disgusting and quite rude, for the lack of a better word, set on getting a reaction out of her, but Danny didn’t give him that pleasure. She merely had Ser Barristan say their army was made of ten thousand, ready to attack their less than two thousand men. Daario caught on the lie, noticing that they had only eight thousand.
She offered them a deal but they didn’t seem too keen on accepting, so she gave them wine and two days to ponder on their options; but in the end it didn’t come to it.
The following night Daario Naharis presented her with the heads of the other captains. His methods were not to her taste; he sneaked into her chambers during her bath dressed as an Unsullied and took Missandei hostage to keep Danny quiet.
He’d been sent there to kill her, but he’d chosen to kill his comrades instead because he wanted her and they said he had no choice but to kill her. He didn’t like to be forced to do things, so he chose to offer his services to her.
He swore to fight for her alongside The Second Sons. “My sword is yours, my life is yours, my heart is yours,” he said and Danny smiled, he was a handsome man after all.
--
Preparing for the attack was much easier with Daario at her side. He was able to point them to a back gate they could use to enter the city and even devised a simple plan for them to overpower Yunkai in a single day.
Daario would enter through the back gate with Jorah and Grey Worm, take the back streets and open the front gate for the army.
Jorah’s first reaction was to oppose him since he was suspicious of Daario but Danny asked Grey Worm what he thought and he agreed to the plan without hesitation.
And so they entered the city after nightfall, hiding in the shadows, and overpowered the guards. It was not as easy as they had thought but once the three of them had spoken to the slave guards, they threw their speers and rebelled against their masters. By dawn, the slaves had found their own freedom and opened the doors, walking out to greet her and welcoming her with open arms.
Missandei introduced her and let them know that they owed her their freedom but that was not what Daenerys wanted to say, so instead she let them know the truth in Valyrian.
“You do not owe me your freedom, I cannot give it to you, your freedom is not mine to give. It belongs to you and you alone. If you want it, you must take it for yourselves, each and every one of you!”
They looked at her in silence for a moment before a little girl yelled “Mhysa!” The others followed, chanting “Mhysa” and stretching their hands to her, trying to get closer step by step.
Daenerys blinked in confusion and looked at Missandei. “What does it mean?”
“It is old Ghiscari, Khaleesi. It means Mother,” she said.
The Unsullied lifted their speers, trying to keep the former slaves from getting to her, but she shook her head. “It’s alright, these people won’t hurt me.” She kneeled next to her dragons and let them fly freely before walking into the crowd, letting them touch her, smiling, enjoying the love that they already felt for her. Two men lifted her on their shoulders and allowed her to look around to her people as they continued to call her Mhysa.
Author notes: If you chose to skip Catelyn's, Dan's and Arya's POVs at the twins this is the summary: Catelyn, Robb and Talisa were killed by the Freys, Dan was outside the castle and saw his family dead, he was captured and injured but Balerion freed Greywind and they dragged him down to the river where he took a small boat. Arya had just arrived with The Hound to be sold back to his family but he dragged her away when he saw they were dead already.
If you decide to go back and read feel free to stop at any moment and just so you know, I toned it down from the show so don't go looking for it if you have triggers. Otherwise, the scene is "The Red Wedding" and it's said to be one of the best moments in television.

A bunch of marvel headcanons for your entertainment
Some of these are inspired by general stuff I've seen on the internet a while ago, others are completely random
• Clint Barton often inhabits the vents. He's been doing so for years and the avengers have all gotten used to it. He will usually sit in the vents and record them doing stupid stuff and adds it to his smack cam. He actually has a youtube channel called "HawkeyeTheBestAvenger" and has quite a few followers.
• Tony stark and dr. Stephen strange have a web show called "stark contrasts, strange similarities". They were very bored and apparently people found amusement in hearing them engage in a battle of wit. It now is a weekly activity and some of the other avengers will come down and watch the show. It helps the two so they have a designated time to verbally attack eachother instead of doing so on the battle field. They used to ignore each others plans and argue to the point of losing the battle, but now they are an unstoppable force and barely anything stands in their way. Except peter parker's puppy dog eyes.
• Clint Barton wanted to be a stand-up comedian, but he ended up becoming an assassin instead.
• Doctor strange owns at least 4 different copies of lord of the rings. Only peter parker knows this. If tony were to find out, he would never let him live it down.
• Peter parker often confuses the ceiling and the floor which has lead to tony freaking out at 2AM because he saw a figure crawling on the ceiling. (Tony called an exorcist soon after, but it happened to be doctor strange. The following events are now known as the not-so-demonic-doctor-and-the-spiderlings-unfortunate-timing.)
• Natasha and bucky sometimes have entire conversations in Russian without realizing it. Once they were talking late at night and had switched over to Russian without realizing and then steve walked into the kitchen. Nat asked what he was doing and he looked confused. She asked again but he still wasn't saying anything. Bucky then asked and all steve said was "what?". The two assassins then started to yell at steve in Russian. They forgot to watch their volume and ended up waking everyone. They were still shouting at steve when clint walked in and said "You know they are just asking you what you're doing up this late at night, right?" The rest of the night was filled with a tired spider-child, a blanket covered Bruce, and an overly annoyed tony.
• Tony has many nicknames for dr. Strange including, but not limited to: strange, stranger danger, Dumbledore, wizard, Merlin, Harry Potter, better steve, and stephanie.
• Outside of avengers tower, most people think that tony treats his intern poorly, but in reality he treats him like royalty. Peter has gotten used to tony stark's dad mode, everytime someone new comes in they are always surprised. Tony will cary around all the things his spider child needs. Food? He has a plethora of snacks. Backpacks? He has a closet with a bunch of new ones. Web fluid? He always has a replacement vial of the stuff if peter runs out. Hotel? Travago. He makes sure the spiderling is as happy as possible and will go to any length to make it happen. Scott lang was shocked to discover this. He then assumed that peter was his actual child. No one had the heart to tell him otherwise. He didnt find out he wasn't Tony's biological child until a month later.
• When scott lang, aka ant man, first joined it caused much confusion. The later deemed bug bois had a rocky start, but in an interesting way. Scott was under the impression that peter can control spiders and peter thought that Scott's full name was Scottish language. It took an hour and a spider sister for everything to be cleared up. Now the bug bois and the spider sister go on many missions together. Peter and scott always make as many nerd and science puns as possible while natasha just shakes her head.
• Tony does a bad. A terrible, terrible thing. He introduced peter to harley. This resulted in immediate vine references and instant friendship. It also caused the labs to catch on fire. The pure chaos that these two caused is more than even clint and scott can cause which is saying alot. It got to a point where the whole base was covered in waiting pranks and operational lightsabers. The two also figured out how to safely eat tide pods. You can imagine Tony's reaction. And to add insult to injury, king T'Challa came to the compound. With Shuri. S h u r i. The damage increased by double in the first hour alone. Let's just say that tony had to call Stephen to try to clean everything up. They still find shaving cream in the labs and kitchen even after they thought they were done cleaning.
• Doctor strange is broke. He had literally no money whatsoever. In the beginning he had started to spend it faster then he was making it. He then spent hundreds of thousands of dollars to try and fix his hands and when that didn't work he sold his things to get to Nepal. Specifically Kathmandu. Even more specifically, kamar-taj. Once he became a sorcerer money didn't matter as much. Now that he's back in New York, well, money is a problem again. He'll sometimes do really odd jobs to make a little bit more money in his free time (which is already minimal). The weirdest job he took was being a magician for a little kids birthday party. He may or may not have sent a kid to another dimension, but he'll never tell. (Sorry Marcus).
• Matt has a habit of getting thrown into dumpsters. Clint also has a habit of getting thrown into dumpsters. You can imagine Matt's suprise when someone else gets thrown into his dumpster. That's the somewhat anticlimactic way that Hawkeye and Daredevil meet. It's the deaf leading the blind. Two halves of one full idiot. They hated each other at first but they kept ending up in dumpsters. After one battle where daredevil got seriously injured, clint helped patch him up. From that moment on they learned that teaming up with each other wasn't that bad. Now the two can be seen patrolling around hell's kitchen and Manhattan and chatting all along the way.
• Peter got stuck. Quarantined in tony stark's laboratory. With iron man himself. And a few of the avengers. They have been pretty good with not bothering Peter while he's on a zoom call. That was until strange came by because of some multi-dimensional beast or something that turned out to be nothing. Well after that was settled, wong refused to let strange back into the sanctum. Resulting in Stephen being stuck at the compound with everyone else. This of course included tony. Peter was minding his own business following along with his chemistry class one peaceful Wednesday. Tony was tinkering on some piece of the newest iron man armor. Peter had turned his microphone on to answer a question when suddenly, strange yells out " Anthony Edward Stark!" Turns out that tony wasn't going to let the wizard enjoy his stay and decided to channel his inner loki. The good doctor appeared in the doorway covered head to toe with bright pink glittery paint. Tony then proceeded to laugh so hard he's on the floor. Peter had at one point, gotten up to help the sorcerer leaving his call unmuted. Meaning that his entire class heard the absolutely absurd conversation happening. That was how his class learned that he did in fact have an internship with tony stark himself.

THE WIDOWS OF WINTERFELL: A True Telling of the Trials and Tribulations of Sansa & Serena Manderly Stark, as written by Coryanne Martell of Bear Island
Though the First Men, the Andals, and most of the Valyrians hold with the tradition that a daughter must always come before an uncle in matters of succession, the truth of this is that inheritance does not always - or even usually - follow such strict traditions. There are variances not only between the kingdoms that make up Westeros, but throughout the world as to whether a Lord or King's wealth and role may pass to a son, daughter, brother, sister, or even a relative further removed. These variances amongst traditions include the Iron Throne itself, where no woman nor man descended from a woman has ever sat, the Dornish and their Rhoynar tradition of age based succession - and, more recently, the North, which holds a similar age based succession tradition.
This tradition traces its origins to the succession crisis of Winterfell in the year 175 AC when a short - but tense - stand off occurred between Sansa Stark and her younger uncle, Jonnel Stark. Sansa, being the daughter of Jonnel's older brother, would have come first when holding to traditional succession laws, as would her sister Serena. The issue was seemingly resolved by the marriage of both sisters to their eldest uncles, Jonnel and Edric, with Jonnel being named Lord of Winterfell and Sansa his lady. In truth, the Sisters Stark had only begun their war of words against their young uncles.
Much of our knowledge of that time comes from the account of the succession crisis set down by Torrhen Stark and edited several decades later by Maester Walys, as well as the many letters sent to close friends while they plotted and planned - and the grumblings of their detractors in the North as well as the South. The judgement of their actions is varied; some called the Sisters Stark overreaching tyrants, more interested in their own power than having any true interest in what they called the rights of heiresses. Those that loved the sisters believed Sansa to have as tender a heart as any woman but with the cold pragmatism of the old Kings of Winter, and Serena an intellect to rival a Grand Maester that she hid behind charm and courtesy. Whatever the judgement of their actions, their impact on Northern succession law cannot be mistaken.
SOME NOTES HERE
The names are NOT listed in age order or the graphic doesn't work. Sue me!!!
My characterization for Jonnel, Edric, Barthogan, and Brandon is based off the very vague idea that the North “lamented” the loss of Rickard because the rule of his sons was “troubled” as they were just, not that good at being Lord of Winterfell, except in this version Sansa and Serena get frustrated with that and just refuse to let go of the North when Jonnel dies, and make their beef the North’s problem by going “actually succession is strictly age and not gender based now, new rule.”
read more here, this idea came from me trying to justify absolute primogeniture being recent in the North, for maximum drama between the Starklings and also to give Ned a heart attack.
This timeline is held together mostly on vibes lksjfd I might update the concept as I go along but I got tired of trying to piece together the ages and death dates.
I genuinely have like a novella worth of F&B style lore to back all of this up. Here is only a tiny little bit of it-
Cregan sends Sansa to the Maidenvault to be a companion to Elaena Targaryen. She is one of very few Northern girls sent, and likely (definitely) sent to ensure she could not develop proper support in Winterfell to rival Cregan's sons.
She is recalled to Winterfell once Baelor the Blessed dies, because Cregan Does Not Fuck With Viserys Like That, but Cregan hems and haws about her marriage match until the day he dies.
After she realizes Jonnel intends to cut Serena/Cregard out of the line of succession, she starts building alliances not just in the North but in the South as well. Elaena and Alyssa (one of Rhaena's daughters, Alyssa Hightower, because it is the funniest name!) help her find matches for Cregard, Aregelle, and Aranna that come with influence, money, and a small household ready to move into Winterfell and loyal only to Sansa and Serena.
Cregard marries a northerner, Robyn Ryswell, to gain the Ryswells as an ally. More than that, it was important to Sansa that Cregard marry a Northerner, because some talk about them being ~poisoned by Southron ambitions~ bc she was raised in the Capital.
Torrhen, Cregard's twin brother, marries Rhaella Hightower, or what Alyssa, Elaena, and Sansa refer to as Rhaena and Garmund's Oops Baby. Younger than her sisters by over a decade, Rhaella is doted on, and comes north with a large household and a small fortune.
Aranna is the first match Elaena and Sansa set up though it's not for politics (it happens before Edric dies) but because of their fondness for each other - Elaena's son, Jon Waters, with Serena's oldest girl. I know there’s the bastard thing but executive decisioning that Jonnel and Edric are excited about it - they grew up hearing all sorts of stories about Alyn Velaryon and they can't help but think it's both very cool and potentially useful to have his bastard son with a Targaryen princess in Winterfell.
Aregelle's husband, Garin Martell, is not from the direct line of the Martells aka a brother to Myriah and Maron. He is however, part of the household sent to protect Myriah when she comes North to marry Daeron in 169, as a squire. Elaena suggests the match and also hints at the idea that she wants a Dornish influence in the North to help Sansa and Garin is like "say no more, that's hilarious."
The match between Lyanna and Galeo Cassel is made by Serena. Galeo Cassel was a merchant from Braavos who made his home in winter town, finding he much enjoyed the cold weather and the odd, serious ways of the Northerners. He becomes a close friend of Serena's while Sansa is in the South, and is rewarded with a marriage match, when he designs a sigil - he tells everyone who will listen that the single wolf is Cregan, the two wolves are Sansa & Serena, the three wolves are him, Lyanna, and his brother, and the four wolves are their children (who haven't been born yet). Being the richest man in winter town, his support and fondness for the girls becomes important to their goals. Yes I worked in an origin story for House Cassel.
Sansa reaches out to every aunt she has with the promise of fantastic matches for all their kids if they back her claim against Barthogan. I simply did NOT have the room for all of the kids, hahahaha, but this is how she gets the Norreys, Umbers, Ryswells, and Blackwoods on her side - all of a sudden, they get to jump the line over her uncles AND they’re offloading their spare kids into other people’s castles. In return, she gets second son Leo Blackwood's own son, Ronnet, a sweet match with a Tully, and they marry back into the family a generation later. She gets the Ryswells a sweet match as well with Cregard, obviously, and will get the Umbers one soon (hold that thought).
Alysanne Stark, daughter of Torrhen and Rhaella Hightower, is their oldest child. She, Edrick, and Addam and Elaena are all close, growing up in Winterfell together. Alysanne, who married Jason Blackwood, is given some land in the Wolfswood to settle, and the two eventually form their own cadet house, at first called House Stark of the WolfsWood but eventually it is shortened to Starkwood. Elaena Soranys, a name she later takes on to rid herself of the taint of bastardry, marries the heir to House Umber. Olyvar marries the heir to House Mormont, Janna, and his second born child - they have four daughters in total - establishes House Martell of Bear Island.
I haven’t decided if it’s more likely that the Martells of Bear Island are just, this random Martell cadet branch in the North that by present day just doesn’t look Dornish at all and has no relationship to Dorne or the main Martell branch, but kept the Martell name, OR if Bear Island is like, just a Little multicultural because the presence of its original Dornish founding member is enough to draw the presence of more Dornish people to Bear Island. I was picturing kinda like the Marches, where you can see through the names and marriages a bit of a mixing of the two dominant cultures there, like a lil sprinkling of southron influence seeping through.
I still wanted to keep the concept of a succession crisis when Dunk and Egg get to the North SO! Brandon still marries Alys Karstark - a match Sansa fights against loudly - and Beron still marries Lorra Royce and has several children (i stole some of them for other characters though). Cregard dies before his mother and Serena, who is old, frail, and sickly, rules in name alone when Sansa finally passes - the rule of Winterfell is mostly in the hands of her grandson, Edrick. He marries a Manderly, and they have one child that lives to adulthood, Arsa, though she has a number of cousins all eager to be her favorite - including, eventually, her cousin William.
After William’s wife, Gillian’s Glover, dies in the birthing bed, Arsa sends for a nursemaid to care for his son, Brandon. Though Brandon dies soon after the nursemaid, Nan, gets to Winterfell, a grieving William is touched by his cousin’s care.
When Sansa dies, and Edrick is fatally wounded not long after, Dunk and Egg walk into a succession crisis. While several first born daughters have inherited since Sansa and Serena's changes - Janna Mormont, Corlynne Cerwyn, Arya Flint, and Serena Hornwood - the very short rule of Edrick and the premature death of Cregard has everyone on edge about yet another ruling Lady of Winterfell. As Edrick lay dying, Westeros’ nosiest squire and most upon knight roll up to the castle, curious as to why every single Stark is suddenly at Winterfell.
Also, here are the invented sigils, the Mormont Martell words are not serious but I imagine their words are similarly metal:

NSFW Alphabet // Peter Parker
peter parker x reader
*peter is an adult here.
Masterlist
Tumblr media
A = Aftercare (what they’re like after sex)
Talk about basking in the glow. Peter smiles with his eyes still shut and his chest heaving as he presses a kiss to your cheek and collapses next to you. “God, you always feel amazing,” he whispers hoarsely. But soon he’s grabbing your hand and tugging you along with him for the next part. You trot to the bathroom to get cleaned up and then it’s onto the kitchen to pick out snacks — you both prefer to do aftercare together, where you can still enjoy each other’s company and laugh all the while.
B = Body part (favorite body part of theirs and their partner’s)
He appreciates his arms. Sometimes he forgets it but he’s very strong (sorry about the accidental punch, Flash) and his arms do so much of the Spider-Man acrobatics. Hugging you is one of his favorite feelings in the world and his arms take care of that, too. And the best of both worlds is when he’s clutching you as he swings both of you high above the New York skyline.
For you? He adores your neck. It’s his favorite spot to hide his face when he needs a break from all the pressure and you welcome him with open arms. Your soft skin against his cheek calms him immediately. Your neck is also a place where he can so easily affect you with a kiss or his teeth. The sweetest little sound comes from your throat when he brushes his lips along your neck and he can’t get enough of it.
C = Cum (anything to do with cum basically)
When you’re protected by a condom or birth control etc., Peter prefers to cum inside you. Being completely tangled up in each other is an unmatched feeling and he loves cumming when his hips are lodged all the way against yours. But sometimes you let him cum down your chin and throat when you give him a blowjob and he’ll look at you like you hung the stars in the sky.
D = Dirty secret (an interesting dirty secret of theirs)
His senses are dialed up to eleven, remember? So he can sense everything about you. When your heartbeat quickens, when your skin heats up, when you’re that close to the edge. And he uses it to his advantage. He knows exactly when you’re ready to go from Netflix to chill with a single glance. When he tries something new — a smack to your ass or grabbing your wrists a little harder — and your heart skips a beat, it’s game on. And don’t get him started on knowing that your climax is near. “You’re close, aren’t you?” he’ll murmur, knowing full well what he’s doing to you.
E = Experience (how experienced are they? do they know what they’re doing?)
This is the internet age. So while Peter may have been too busy with school and saving the world to get a lot of experience, he’s knowledgeable as hell. And god is he eager to learn how to apply it to you. After a little trial and error and a lot of communication, he’ll know exactly what he’s doing. And while he’s sometimes surprised by your reactions, it’s never a bad thing. He just smirks and tucks the little piece of information away in his mind.
F = Fantasy (what’s their favorite fantasy/roleplay?)
Grateful damsel in distress. All you have to do is squeeze his arms or cup his cheek and say, “My hero,” and he’s suddenly keen to show you just the kind of hero he is under the suit. He’ll play it up in public by swinging by you unexpectedly and scooping you into his arms, making you yelp and cling to him. You’re very grateful for your very own Spider-Man and are not afraid to show him just that ;)
G = Goofy (are they more serious or goofy in the moment?)
Peter is a goofy and playful guy, especially with foreplay. He’s the king of turning tickle fights into makeout sessions into everything else. Even when he’s bossing you around or his voice has turned husky with pleasure, he’s got a smile on his face when he slides into you. That being said, he’s also smart as a whip and as soon as he can tell you’re really enjoying yourself, he’ll get a little more serious. How could he not stare in awe at the way your head tips back and your mouth drops open in pleasure.
H = Hair (how groomed are they, does the carpet match the drapes?)
He’s well groomed and likes to keep it that way. It feels cleaner.
I = Intimacy (how are they in the moment, romantic aspect)
Very intimate. In the rest of his life he always has to have a persona — as Spider-Man, as regular Peter Parker, etc. — so when he’s with you? As your Peter? It’s all about the intimacy, baby. Asking how you’re doing while pulling off each other’s clothes. Kissing you relentlessly and feeling his bare skin against yours. Even on nights when you’re being rougher with each other he wants to keep you close, to bore his eyes into you as he forgets the rest of the world.
J = Jackoff (about masturbation)
He’ll do it regularly if he’s away on missions but you’re the real deal and that’s what he prefers. You’re not afraid to send him pictures and videos letting him know just how much you miss him, as long as you get a video of him jacking off in return.
K = Kink (any kinks)
Bondage — his webbing, specifically. You discover it accidentally when he’s being impatient and webs your hand to the wall, making you gasp when you look at him indignantly. His eyes darken when he sees you unable to move or retaliate and now it’s common to find the remnants of webbings on your bed posts. He likes it when you pull his hair, especially if it’s followed by a bite to his neck, because Peter Parker shows off hickies like they’re trophies. Edging goes both ways in your relationship. Being able to keep you on edge by sensing it is one of his many talents, but he also loves it when you bring him to climax achingly slow.
L = Location (favorite place to do it)
A bedroom, with all the doors locked. He’s had enough surprises throughout his life and he just wants some privacy when he’s with you. It doesn’t really matter which bedroom (your place, his quarters at the Avengers compound, etc.) as long as it’s sealed off and has a bed that gives him plenty of room to explore you. For a quickie, however...the Quinjet parked in the compound garage is a new favorite.
M = Motivation (what turns them on, gets them going)
Peter loves seeing you focus. Whether it’s your eyes flitting around your computer screen or the way you pull your lip between your teeth when you’re concentrating hard, he can’t help but want to provide a distraction. But the way to turn him on out of nowhere is to act innocent when you know you’re not. You’ll slide your foot up his leg at a dinner with other Avengers while your facial expression doesn’t change. Or you’ll send him a wink when you bend over in public to pick something up, and in the next second you’re chatting with someone else like nothing happened. He loves to play along, innocently teasing you right back until you’re ready to pounce on each other the moment you’re alone.
N = NO (something they won’t do, turn offs)
Choking you, because he’s scared of his own strength.
O = Oral (giving and receiving)
Loverboy is a giver. He loves having you writhe underneath him and sensing your heart racing and hearing the little (or loud) sounds you make. He’s talented with his tongue and it fucking shows, you barely have to give him instructions before he figures out exactly what motions affect you the most. His voice drops the deepest when he’s going down on you, saying how good you taste or how good it must feel. Webbing your hands up is also usually part of this scenario...
But the loss of control when you go down on him is intoxicating. He’ll never ask for a blowjob (he’ll only “tell” you to when bossing you around is part of the plan) so you often surprise him with one, making him grin like a Cheshire cat. Digging your nails into his thighs will have him cumming the quickest, by the way.
P = Pace (are they fast and rough? slow and sensual?)
Peter’s in between the two. He’s eager and while he does rush to get his hands all over your body, he never skips proper foreplay. His touch will be rougher if he’s freshly back from a mission and needs to forget it all but even then he’s still slower and more sensual when finally thrusting into you.
Q = Quickie (opinions on quickies rather than proper sex, how often, etc.)
It’s part of the superhero gig. Either there’s just not enough time or too many goddamn people in the Avengers facility or your school or job makes late nights full of work instead of time with your boyfriend. In that case you’d both rather have a quickie than nothing at all, so you can expertly push each other’s buttons to make it work (even though his suit can make it tough). Peter’s adamant that you orgasm even during a quickie so it’s not a waste of your time, and honestly you do have fun with the rush of it all. However, quickies are not what he prefers. He’s with you because he’s in love with your mind and every inch of your body and having to rush through sex isn’t as worshipful as being able to take his time.
R = Risk (are they game to experiment?)
Later on in the relationship, yes. He’ll bring up things he hears friends talking about or what he finds on late-night internet dives for y’all to try. He also likes to play the game “how many New York rooftops can we fuck on” because what else are proper Spider-Man dates about?
S = Stamina (how many rounds can they go for, how long do they last)
He’s superhuman, including his strength and stamina. Not only is picking you up a breeze (the guy can throw school buses so getting you up and onto a bed or counter is completely doable) but he can go for as many rounds as you want. He usually doesn’t have a problem lasting a while before he cums but if he does, he just makes sure to focus on you until you’re even.
T = Toys (do they own toys? do they use them on a partner or themselves?)
Peter Parker? Basically the son of technological wizard Tony Stark? Using toys? Duh. He refuses to let Tony give him any toys or advice but he likes trying out new ones with you. The first time you let him use your vibrator on you he couldn’t stop smiling at how easily it affected you. And turning that vibrator on him made him the loudest you’d ever heard in bed. Also he’s not opposed to buying those sets of fluffy pink handcuffs, gloves, feathers, blindfolds, etc. Why not have it all on hand?
Side note: yes, there are Spider-Man themed sex toys and no, Peter does not want them anywhere near you. He’ll fuck you in the suit or use the webbing of his own making, thank you very much.
U = Unfair (how much they like to tease)
It’s a surprise to you the first time you get really frisky with him — but Peter’s a tease. He can sense your desperation, after all, and he likes it. Irking you and making you “be patient, please” as he riles you up gives him a rush. He knows just where to kiss and suck to make you whine and there’s a rumble from deep in his throat as he chuckles at your anguish when he moves away too fast.
V = Volume (how loud they are, what sounds they make)
He talks a lot during foreplay, teasing you and praising you and asking, “feels good, yeah?” As things get hotter and heavier he turns to panting and gasping. It’s never very loud but the constant rumble of his contented moans lets you know that he’s enjoying exactly how you make him feel. But the strangled cry when he cums, that’s your favorite sound in the whole world. Especially if he’s crying out your name.
W = Wildcard (random headcanon)
Seeing you in lingerie: Peter’s a sucker for a good lingerie set and will drop whatever he’s holding when he catches sight of you. His hands immediately brush over the lace or satin or silk as he pulls you to straddle his thighs and his gaze devours you. “For me, hm?” he murmurs, and you nod proudly. He’s not the type to rip it off you — he’ll fondle and finger and fuck you around the saucy little outfit.
X = X-ray (let’s see what’s in those pants)
Long, like enough that it takes some getting used to. Average girth but a big tip.
Y = Yearning (how high is their sex drive?)
Peter’s a busy guy and his attention is always being pulled in many directions but when you’re around he’s tuned in to you. So any time the opportunity for sex is on the table, he’s up for getting it in while he can (pun intended). Sometimes even hearing you laugh from the next room reminds him of times you laugh and gasp when he sucks on a certain spot on your skin, immediately making him want to do that again as soon as possible.
Z = ZZZ (how quickly they fall asleep afterwards)
Usually you’re both out pretty fast afterwards — giving each other your all can be exhausting. As soon as the aftercare routine is complete and you’re tucked in his arms again you can feel sleep dragging at your eyes, especially if Peter is tracing his fingers along your skin. A few times your post-sex sleep has been so deep that Peter misses an Avenger’s call, meaning they’ve walked in on you two curled up in the sheets more than once.

The Coming War for the North, Part 3: The Battle of the Bastards
To see the previous installments of this series, part 1 and part 2 are available to read here and here, respectively.
The idea that Jon and Ramsay would fight has been around for a while, even before the TV show. There are a lot of signs pointing to a similar confrontation in the books, but how it unfolds might be a little different from the show. In this final section, I'll get right down to business on this final battle for Winterfell, and the purpose and themes this plot line.
Two Snows & Winterfell
Jon and Ramsay are two very different, and somewhat very similar characters. Throughout ADWD Jon has letters sent by Ramsay detailing events transpiring in the North, including the retaking of Moat Cailin, and the marriage of Arya Stark (really Jeyne Poole) to the newly legitimized Ramsay Bolton. Stannis also begins his campaign to take the North, and sends letters to Jon detailing his movements and what he is doing. When confronted by Melisandre, Jon learns that Mance Rayder was actually Rattleshirt in magic disguise, and Rattleshirt is actually Mance in magic disguise, and with Melisandre's nudging, agrees to send Mance and six spearwives to rescue Arya from Winterfell.
Then Ramsay sends the pink letter and tells Jon that he defeated Stannis, has captured Mance, and demands Stannis's family and allies or he will attack the Night's Watch. Don't forget that Jon is the one who started this, not Ramsay. He was the instigator, helping Stannis and taking Arya away from Ramsay. Not to say Ramsay is in the right here morally (quite the opposite), but Jon did break his vows for this to happen, and he wasn't really on Ramsay's radar until this happened. Thus, ADWD has set up a rivalry between the two. However, the two characters have a lot in common to be set up as foils to each other.
Both are bastards of a very prominent noble lord of the North. Both resent their bastard status and yearn for approval to be a trueborn member of their House. And both want Winterfell. Ramsay already has Winterfell and is declared the Lord of Winterfell, while Jon nearly took Stannis's offer to be Lord of Winterfell, before rejecting it to keep his vows to the Night's Watch, while still yearning to have Winterfell. However, from there, they are complete opposites.
Ramsay is a demon in human skin, a sadistic serial killer and rapist who enjoys torture and murder, and has no regard for the laws of men. Meanwhile, Jon, as raised by Ned, is a noble and honourable person who tries his best to keep his oath and honour intact (although he does forsake it at the end of ADWD). In the season 4 DVD extras for Game of Thrones, GRRM himself even talks about this.
The relationship between Roose and Ramsay is, in some ways, a dark counterpoint to the relation between Ned Stark and Jon Snow. In both cases, a noble father with a bastard son. Jon and Ramsay are literally the opposite to each other. Jon is very noble and honorable. And Ramsay is none of those things. Roose himself is a cold and calculating man. A dispassionate man. "I placed far too much trust in you." But their treatment of the bastard son is very different. Ned keeps Jon Snow at Winterfell and he's raised with Robb and Bran. For all practical purposes, he is one of Ned's sons. Ramsay gets nothing from Roose.
Given the fact we have good build up between a rivalry between them, and that they are foils of each other, a confrontation between the two seems very likely. And even more so when you look both at the past history and at ADWD. The Stark-Bolton rivalry is the longest and most prominent feud in the North, supposedly dating back to the Long Night. Numerous wars were fought between the Red Kings from the Dreadfort and the Kings of Winter from Winterfell, some of them ending in Bolton victory. At least twice, two Bolton kings (both named Royce) took and burnt Winterfell (and it happened a third time in ACOK when Ramsay did it). The Boltons also were alleged to have flayed and worn the skins of Stark princes as cloaks.
In a way, this rivalry is a very dark, yet still grounded fantasy version of werwolves and vampires. There are quite a lot of stories including werewolves and vampires that have the two be natural enemies, with feuds that go back centuries sometimes. Of course, both the Starks and Boltons take on very clear roles as werewolves and vampires. Starks have warg blood in them (even if not all of them were wargs), and many of them have dreams at night of being a wolf and rampaging around, which sounds very much like old werewolf legends. The Boltons being vampires, on the other hand, is less magical and more implied.
The Boltons have this unearthly, sinister feel and look to them that makes them appear somewhat inhuman, with pale eyes variously described as dirty chips of ice or pale moons, and a look about themselves that is similar to some descriptions of vampires. Then of course there is the Dreadfort, a spooky old castle ruled by a very spooky and yet somewhat cultured man (Dracula anyone)? Then of course we have all the very creepy images of Boltons flaying people, and Ramsay sometimes writing using human blood as ink.
Basically, what I'm saying is that ASOIAF has done what Twilight did but better.
To go back to the future, it makes thematic and narrative sense for the Starks to retake Winterfell from their ancient nemesis. The rivalry began between a Stark and a Bolton, and will end with a Stark bastard and a Bolton bastard, fighting over dominance of the North and of Winterfell.
The Battle of the Bastards
At first glance, it seems like it's a no brainer for how this battle will unfold. Ramsay is gonna lose a lot of support, and Jon will have all the support and completely demolish Ramsay. However, while I do think it will end in victory for Jon (and not without outside help), I think that both are going to be in rather desperate positions, Jon maybe more so.
After Jon's resurrection, there is no question in my mind that he is going to head south. Those were his last thoughts and actions as he died, similar to how Catelyn killing a Frey and her grief of losing her family was the last action and thought before she died, and Beric protecting the smallfolk from the Mountain was his last act before dying. Given the strong implication he is inside Ghost, coming back, we should expect a darker, different Jon, one who doesn't give a shit, is more violent, and more determined. Of course, if he is to retake Winterfell, he should need support.
Fortunately, right before he died, he got all the free folk to cheer for him and agree to join him. Mix those free folk with the giants and mammoths that were recently let past Eastwatch, and he might have a formidable force. However, of the 4,119 or so free folk that are currently south of the Wall, not all of them are fighters. If we take the estimate for 20,000 warriors and 100,000 free folk in total, then we should expect around 820+ free folk capable of fighting. Not a lot. He will need some outside help. Of course, there is already set up for that in ADWD, when he marries Alys Karstark to Magnar Sigorn of Thenn.
He tells a captive Cregan Karstark to send word to his relatives at Karhold and yield to prevent their deaths, but Cregan stubbornly refuses. Alys believes Karhold will open their gates to her, and Alys is thankful for Jon Snow providing her refuge at the Wall and a marriage to get out of an even worse one she did not want. The strength of Karhold may not be the best, but it seems very likely for Karhold to join Jon and his cause, under the banners of Alys.
As for the other houses of the North, I don't expect much more support. Think about how Jon will look to the Northmen. He is a bastard, and those are already quite condemned throughout the North (and Westeros in general). He broke his vows by leaving the Night's Watch, and since the North takes vows and oaths and honour much more seriously than the rest of Westeros, being an oathbreaker who abandoned the Wall is not going to make him popular. And finally, he is leading a band of wildlings south. The North despises the free folk, thinking of them as savages, thanks to centuries of conflict with them. So the picture of Jon painted as an oathbreaking wildling bastard is going to be a major problem for him. At worst, he would be viewed just as evil and treacherous as Ramsay, the other prominent bastard in the North.
In fact, even if Ramsay loses a lot of support from his own actions (more later), he could use this to his advantage. At best, the northerns who hate Jon will remain neutral in the conflict, but at worst, they might even ally with the Boltons. The clansmen have a deep hatred of House Bolton, but they also have a very deep hatred of the free folk, so they may actually remain neutral. The Umbers are another House that deals frequently with wildlings, and many years prior, Crowfood lost his daughter to wildlings raiding south of the Wall. So instead of Jon's presence invigorating the Umbers to fight against Ramsay, their own vehement hatred of the wildlings might lead them to simply stick with Ramsay.
However, that isn't to say everything will go swimmingly for Ramsay. Their hold on the North is tentative, and if Ramsay kills Roose and Walda and their child, it could become even more unstable. For one, Lady Barbrey Dustin isn't loyal to the Boltons, but instead loyal to Roose. Her sister was the former wife of Roose, and Domeric was her nephew, so Lady Dustin has reason to be on friendly terms with Roose. On the other hand, she despises Ramsay, blaming him for Domeric's death, and not even allowing him to step foot in Barrow Hall because of it. In turn, Ramsay also holds her in contempt.
"It should have been you who threw the feast, to welcome me back," Ramsay complained, "and it should have been in Barrow Hall, not this pisspot of a castle." "Barrow Hall and its kitchens are not mine to dispose of," his father said mildly. "I am only a guest there. The castle and the town belong to Lady Dustin, and she cannot abide you." Ramsay's face darkened. "If I cut off her teats and feed them to my girls, will she abide me then? Will she abide me if I strip off her skin to make myself a pair of boots?" "Unlikely. And those boots would come dear. They would cost us Barrowton, House Dustin, and the Ryswells."
If Roose dies, not only would Lady Dustin probably suspect Ramsay, but she would simply not follow Ramsay. So already, just by becoming Warden of the North and Lord of the Dreadfort, Ramsay would lose the Dustins and the Ryswells. Of course, since Lady Dustin does have a grievance with the Starks because Ned never brought her husband home from Dorne, I think she would probably remain neutral in the conflict.
Other houses might leave Ramsay too. Some might stay simply out of fear of retaliation for betrayal. It will depend on the House, their head, their own needs and goals, etc. As for the actual battle itself, who knows what will happen. However, I do think that Ramsay will likely try to lure Jon into some sort of trap rather than give him a direct face to face confrontation. There is also very interesting foreshadowing and even direct confirmation that the battle is going to be possibly more magical than we might believe it to be. Not only are there giants and mammoths... in the final script GRRM wrote for the show, he put in this note:
[N.B. A note for future reference. A season or two down the line Ramsay’s pack of wolfhounds are going to be sent against the Stark direwolves, so we should build up the dogs as much as possible in this and subsequent episodes.]
So the hounds are going to fight the Stark direwolves... wait, direwoves? Not direwolf? Curious...
The Pack Survives
I purposefully avoided the other factions of the North there, because the heart of the conflict will be Ramsay vs. Jon. But Jon won't be alone, at least not entirely. There is Rickon, who is to be touted as the Lord of Winterfell by the Manderlys so they can support Stannis. He isn't even the only Stark who could join in. Sansa is in the Vale under the guise of Alayne Stone. Arya keeps warging into Nymeria, who leads a massive pack of hundreds of wolves throughout the Riverlands. Bran is training his demigod greenseeing powers beyond the Wall with Bloodraven and is definitely manipulating events far south of the Wall.
So, the plural of direwolves makes me think Ghost won't be the only Stark direwolf fighting against Ramsay. We could get Nymeria's wolf pack joining as well, and Shaggydog, or even Summer (if Bran is in the North at this time that is). In fact, the idea that Ramsay will fight against Rickon is something that is heavily hinted at in ADWD.
The next litter to come out of the Dreadfort's kennels would include a Kyra, Reek did not doubt. "He's trained 'em to kill wolves as well," Ben Bones had confided. Reek said nothing. He knew which wolves the girls were meant to kill, but he had no wish to watch the girls fighting over his severed toe.
And then, more directly...
"Stark's little wolflings are dead," said Ramsay, sloshing some more ale into his cup, "and they'll stay dead. Let them show their ugly faces, and my girls will rip those wolves of theirs to pieces. The sooner they turn up, the sooner I kill them again."
Ramsay may be impulsive and unaware of intricate politics, but he seems prepared for what to do should Bran or Rickon show themselves again. This makes me worried for Rickon, honestly. Will Ramsay capture Rickon and keep him prisoner as hold over Jon Snow? Will he kill Rickon like he did in the show? I really, really hope not, but I'm afraid that's exactly what will happen.
There is a line that Ned spoke in AGOT that George says will eventually be very important, that I think perfectly applies to this situation.
"When the snows fall and the white winds blow, the lone wolf dies, but the pack survives."
Ned speaks to Arya about this in King's Landing, to get her to understand that the Starks should not fight one another in times of danger, or be isolated from each other, but look after one another, protect each other. Winter has now come, the snows are falling and the white winds are blowing. Who is the lone wolf in this scenario? While Jon certainly fits the bill (he literally is a lone wolf, it's very clear at the end of ADWD he was prepared to ride to Winterfell all by himself until he got the wildlings to his side), I think Rickon could too.
Rickon is very isolated from everyone else, even when he was at Winterfell. He was only 4 years old, and didn't understand why everyone was leaving him. Given the plan to use Rickon as a pawn to reinstall Stark rule of the North being something we can cheer for and expect to happen, I don't think it will happen. Rickon, the lone wolf, will be used to try to depose Ramsay, but it won't go well, and he will die because of it.
Jon will probably find himself in a bad position in battle too, and very nearly die as the lone wolf... but now that winter is here, and everyone is starting to converge on Winterfell at some point, I think that it won't be Jon who ultimately retakes Winterfell: it will be all the Starks. Sansa may be in the Vale, but Littlefinger plans to use her to take Winterfell back at some point (even if it won't go exactly to plan).
"When Robert dies, Harry the Heir becomes Lord Harrold, Defender of the Vale and Lord of the Eyrie. Jon Arryn's bannermen will never love me, nor our silly, shaking Robert, but they will love their Young Falcon . . . and when they come together for his wedding, and you come out with your long auburn hair, clad in a maiden's cloak of white and grey with a direwolf emblazoned on the back . . . why, every knight in the Vale will pledge his sword to win you back your birthright."
Arya is having a lot of wolf dreams as Nymeria, and GRRM has said that her wolf pack will one day be used as a Chekov's gun. Bran may be far away, but he is getting more powerful and beginning to influence events as far south as Winterfell. The pack comes together to survive in winter, to help Jon and the North by defeating their enemies.
So as Jon fights against the bastard he so deeply despises, it won't just be him. It'll be the Knights of the Vale, led by Sansa. It'll be Nymeria and her wolf pack, piloted by Arya. It'll be Bran, skinchanging into whatever is around. TWOW may end up being the darkest book in the series, and the retaking of Winterfell won't be as glorious as we imagine or even as I spelt it out (Rickon's death and the perception the North has of Jon should play very big roles in making it not entirely happy), but this will be maybe one of our only moment of deserved catharsis we might get from it.

Not to be dramatic, but Sansa is full of forgiveness and mercy and kindness in a world where she’s been given every possible reason about why she shouldn’t be -- and she really didn’t need a moment from Jon disrespecting her (and only her -- everyone else is allowed to speak) during a meeting to, like, ‘teach her a lesson’ about leniency and save her from the ‘evil heartless creature’ she’d become after all of her time with the Lannisters and Petyrfinger.
It’s true that they need every man possible in the upcoming war -- a war that Sansa doesn’t disbelieve at any second, she’s fully on board with what Jon has said is coming and she does every possible thing she’s capable of to help prepare for it. But, it’s also true that these Houses literally just slaughtered their family and fought a war against them, in an attempt to annihilate them from the planet. And it’s a valid thought process, that literally every Northerner in the room also agreed with -- not just her (despite the fact that she’s the only one spoken down to about it), that it’s not something that should just be swept under the rug.
You can’t expect someone to just be on board with you and immediately back you up on everything, if you don’t speak to them about it beforehand. Sansa spends almost all of her time, upon reuniting with Jon and being with him from that moment on, being on his side. Believing him about what he says is coming and knowing they have long fights ahead of them. She appears to not even question his return back to the living?? Despite the fact that she’s the one Stark not spending her entire story dealing with magical mysteries, she’s just like “Yeah, Jon was abracadabra’d back into existence.”
Tumblr media
He says the dead are coming, she just believes him.
The only times that she’s not immediately behind his back are on situations she has the better understanding of (something that is allowed to be true, despite the fact that so many believe Sansa isn’t allowed to have any awareness of anything -- she’s not allowed to be smart).
She knows that Ramsay Bolton is a monster that cannot be allowed to continue holding the North. She knows him better than Jon. She knows what he can do better than Jon. She knows what he won’t do better than Jon -- and that more than likely includes preparing for an onslaught of dead coming to attack them all. And if Jon wants to eff off to someplace warm, well fine, she will rally the troops to do what needs to be done, on her own.
She knows that that there are other Northern Houses wronged by Ramsay who have a better chance of joining the fight, that Jon then refuses to call upon, despite her begging him to -- must. fight. war. now. (And don’t even get me started on those Houses being reprimanded harder than the Houses that fought against them, by Lyanna, even though THEY WERE NEVER ASKED TO HELP BECAUSE JON JUST DECIDED NOT TO GO TO THEM OKAY DON’T GET ME STARTED). She knows that if Jon refuses to turn every rock, because he basically hasn’t decided he wants to live at this point, she has to take matters into her own hands and contact her abuser to seek the help they’ll need. She knows that Ramsay will play with Jon on the field of battle. Sansa also knows her areas that lack expertise and openly admits her faults in lack of battle awareness and how to explain what he’ll do there. But, she knows better than Jon about the games Ramsay likes to play and she tries her best to express it.
She knows that the Umbers and the Karstarks helped destroy them and their family.
Sansa is full of forgiveness and mercy and kindness. She spends the entire story feeling all of these things here and there for people who do not deserve it. We know that her fundamental nature is gentle. That she believes, despite Cersei’s teachings, that she would rather lead by love than by fear. That she’d rather the people feel cared for by her than cower in her presence. But, leading by love over fear doesn’t necessarily mean that every single betrayal that passes shall...pass. That those who commit great crimes always get off with a smile and a cheer and those who are loyal get no reward in return for their fight.
There are obvious benefits to going, “Ahh let’s move on, it was a bad moment, but it’s over,” to the Umbers and Karstarks. But, there’s also a risk of turning every other Northerner against them, by saying that those betrayals will have no consequences and that the loyalty they had holds no more weight than someone literally handing over a Stark for execution does.
But, that’s all beside the point.
The point is Sansa has Jon’s back on everything that he’s displayed superior knowledge to, as evidenced in that season. She spends every single day that Jon is away and avoiding Danaerys’ doe eyes like the plague, backing his decisions regarding the army of the dead (despite coming from another moment of blatant disrespect where he didn’t tell her of his decision to leave, before dragging her into the hall and blasting her with the info at the same time as everyone else, as if she’s on the same level as the rest of the Lords, instead of his literal only family and Lady of Winterfell). She’s constantly working the castle and with the inhabitants of it and the rest of the North in preparation for the upcoming war. She’s getting the castle battle ready. She’s preparing food storage. She’s having armor and weapons made. She’s quality controlling everything, so that everyone will have the best possible equipment and conditions in the fight. She’s turning down power left and right, when people try to take it away from Jon and give it to her, and reinforcing her belief in Jon’s place in the North and knowledge of what’s to come and decisions he’s making in regards to what needs to be done.
[She’s giving away what little power she does have, when Bran turns back up in Winterfell. And she’s very clearly not even a little bit bothered by the fact that she’s doing so. He ends up turning it down, but Bran is Lord of Winterfell, she’s got no problem with it, because she’s not power hungry.]
Sansa has Jon’s back. But, Jon, in return of Sansa’s loyalty and love, expects her to always have his back, without offering the same in return. Even on things that he’s shown less prowess in. Which is especially hurtful, because they had a whole heartwarming moment under soft snowfall about how they have to have full trust in one another, before these meetings happened. Something Sansa exhibits towards him, even in times when she shouldn’t, as he’s messing with their lives and the lives of their people, APPARENTLY (lol lies) for the love (lolol) of some woman he just met who burns people alive. And something Jon shows towards her, about twice, when they get a deceptive letter from Tyrion and he cares about her opinion for a moment and when he places the North in her care (after he just bulldozed her with the information that he’s leaving).
Sansa is allowed to have an opinion about what happens with the Umbers and the Karstarks. She’s allowed to voice it. (I mean, Rickon is literally dead because of Smalljon Umber. Rickon would still be alive if not for him and his people). No one else in the room was undermining Jon by speaking up on the matter, and so she cannot be the only one there who was, just because she’s closer to him than they are. She’s not less merciful or less kindhearted for finding this particular betrayal too much for nothing more than a slap on the wrist. Jon choosing to just have them simply reaffirm their loyalty to House Stark wasn’t some big lesson in kindness for Sansa. Sansa is already inherently kind. There is a difference between learning lessons from the powerful and evil-hearted people around her and being evil-hearted, herself.
And if Jon wanted to go into that meeting with her completely on his side, like she is about everything else regarding the dead and so forth (which he very clearly must’ve 🎵SPOKEN TO HER ABOUT🎵), than he should’ve spoken to her beforehand. Should’ve gone into that meeting with a conversation already had between the two of them, in private, regarding what he plans on doing in regards to the families that helped put the majority of theirs’ in the ground. Sansa has no way of telepathically knowing that Jon plans on going, “Listen, some Umbers are dead, some Karstarks are dead, the price has been paid.” She’s not a mind reader. Just as he should’ve spoken to her, beforehand, about his decision to head for Dragonstone.
Jon cannot constantly expect Sansa to just feel all of the same things he feels and embrace every decision he has, without coming to her and speaking about those feelings and thoughts. There is a very big jump between believing Winterfell belongs to Sansa and believing you don’t even need to privately mention to her, before a public meeting with the rest of the fickle Lords, that you plan on throwing yourself to a dragon and hoping for the best or that you plan on pardoning the very people who helped dismantle the North and the Starks -- who supported the Bolton’s rule.
Sansa is kind and is full of mercy and sympathy and empathy and love. It would not of taken much effort, at all, from Jon to of had her backing his thought process on either matter, even if she doesn’t agree with it. All he had to do was speak to her. To not lump her in with the rest of the Northerners, who hear his big decisions at the drop of a hat. You cannot have beautiful, heartwarming moments in the soft snowfall about trust and then not show her any afterwards. You cannot drop undisclosed bombshells and then expect Sansa, who is finally in a place with someone that she feels comfortable and safe having a voice and using it, to not be shocked and feel able to give her thoughts. You cannot expect that she is the only person not allowed to.
Sansa is a person who is so kind and so forgiving that she’s on Jon’s side all the way to the very end. She’s still trying to keep him a King even after everything he led them to and all of the times he brushed her opinions aside. Even after he’s forever stained the North by bringing them to that massacre of Kings Landing. The world will forever know they supported Daenerys in that slaughter and, despite that, Sansa still knows he’s a good man. Still believes everything he’s done was to protect them all. (Because I refuse to believe that look she had when speaking with Daenerys wasn’t Sansa coming to the conclusion that Jon was doing everything he felt he needed to, to save them).
Sansa was literally in Kings Landing feeling sympathy for those around her who had direct involvement in her torment. There were people backing her into corners, scaring her and reminding her how unsafe she was. And she was, in moments, still showing them undeserved kindness. Still thinking of these people with sympathies in her heart. Still taking care of the people who spent their time belittling her, when they were drowning in their own fears of battle.
That level of kindness and love isn’t taught in a single moment (of disrespect shown towards her) in a meeting of pardoning and bringing those who betrayed them back under their fold. It’s something you’re inherently born with and something you manage to continue to foster within yourself through the worst of your life, even when those around you are trying to break you and turn you into the worst of them.
And thinking that those loyal to the Starks should be rewarded for that loyalty and raised up in station, while the Umbers and Karstarks should have some consequences for their disloyalty (something, I believe, is a very general and non-radical thought process of the time? might be wrong, but I think that’s true?), doesn’t strip away those fundamental qualities she holds. And also doesn’t solidify that she wouldn’t of changed her mind if Jon had come to her with the trust and respect he believed they should show one another, before that meeting, to let her know where he was at.
Anyway, Sansa’s a good and kind person who knows some stuff about some stuff and respect my lady, thank you.

Listen, I might be playing the devils advocate, but I don't think Dany's fate in the GoT finale was due to D&D being sexist.I think it was just because D&D can't write for crap.
It’s not about intent.
Allow me to begin by saying that I completely understand the knee-jerk reaction that people have to the term ‘sexism’. It’s very polarizing, and when men read the term, they immediately go on the offensive. That’s not what I want at all. I don’t use the term to alienate or exclude men, I use it because it’s the dictionary definition of what I’m trying to convey:
sex·ism (noun): "prejudice, stereotyping, or discrimination, typically against women, on the basis of sex.“
That said, allow me to play devil’s advocate here and say that I do not believe the writers intended to have an underlying sexist message. They are more oblivious than they are malicious. It is born of sheer ignorance (lack of knowledge or information) and the privilege to ignore it because, as males, it doesn’t affect them.
Let’s put aside the dozens of articles that came out after the finale calling out the sexism. You guys know me, I like to pull receipts, cite my sources, and throw in some visuals to help aid my point.
For most of the 70+ hours of Game of Thrones, Daenerys actually does not fall victim to these sexist tropes. Honestly, that is what subverted my expectations for seven seasons. That Dany always teetered on the edge of these tired, overused tropes about women, yet she remained steadfast in her ruthless yet good nature, her moral compass was always aligned even if it didn’t match the viewers, and she was a gods-damned hero, straight through to episode four of season eight.
But the demoralizing reality is that Daenerys was hit with trope after trope in the last three episodes. In the final hours of the show, the writers pulled a bait-and-switch, giving us a ‘shocking heel-tern whose only foreshadowing was a very bad retcon job full of double standards. And so many fans, such as yourself, justify it. Not because the show foreshadowed it, but because these tropes are so, so ingrained in our brains from decades of media feeding us these narratives that we now expect them.
In the end, Daenerys succumbs to numerous sexist tropes:
'God Save Us From the Queen’ trope
“The Good Kingdom: A lovely, wealthy country ruled by a benevolent king, a wise prince, and a fair princess loved by the populace. But what’s that? There’s a queen? Oh, brother, we’re in trouble.”
Tumblr media
Disposable Woman trope
“This character has a familial or romantic relationship with a protagonist, which allows creators to derive heart-wrenching sorrow from her death.”
Tumblr media
Evil Infertile Woman trope
“Women are often divided into "breeders” and “the barren,” with the latter coming off as cool and distant at best, and malicious and desperate at worst.“
Tumblr media
The Double-Standard Trope
"A double standard occurs when members of two or more groups are treated differently regarding the same thing. Gender is one of the most common causes of double standards.”
Tumblr media
Hysterical Woman trope
“This trope characterizes women as less rational, disciplined, and emotionally stable than men, and thus more prone to mood swings, irrational overreactions, and mental illness.”
Tumblr media
Woman Scorned trope
“What’s the only type of woman more dangerous than a Mama Bear? A woman who’s been dumped or otherwise done wrong by her significant other. Especially if she’s been hiding some sanity problems.”
Tumblr media
Women Are Delicate trope
“Even if women have toughness, competence, strength or stability, it’s less than what their male peers are capable of.”
Tumblr media
The Woman Wearing the Queenly Mask trope
“They don’t want a young woman, or they don’t want any woman, or they just don’t want this particular woman on the throne.”
Tumblr media
Tropes in and of themselves are not bad, but very outdated tropes that are associated with the emotional or mental ‘fragility’ of women are. Why? Because they reinforce deep-seated and subconscious stereotypes of women that audiences hold.
“It’s just a show/book! Who cares!”
People have been turning to art (including literature) for years for meaning, for philosophical guidance. Most people in my own country turn to one book to both find and justify their morality (the bible).
“Literature offers not just a window into the culture of diverse regions, but also the society, the politics; it’s the only place where we can keep track of ideas.”―Reza Aslan
It’s not just a show. The art and media we consume helps shape who we are, for better or worse. When men refuse to consider the consequence of their sexist narratives simply because it doesn’t affect their own lives, it inadvertently causes harm for others who don’t share their privilege.
And it’s not just Daenerys. She’s just the figurehead.
There was a great article from BBC about how much women actually speak on Game of Thrones:
Tumblr media
I can already hear the counter-argument brewing…
“So what? There are more male characters!”
Yeah. There are. And that’s a problem, too.
Of the top-grossing 1,200 films from 2007 to 2018, 28% of films were led or co-led by women. Meanwhile, around 49.6 percent of the world’s population is female.
By featuring so few women and by giving women who are featured 20% of the airtime to speak their minds, the writers are unintentionally devaluing the speech and opinions of women. This inspires the audience to devalue women in a subconscious way.
Whether or not it intended to, Game of Thrones and its shocking 'heel-turn’ has very troubling sexist and political implications (amongst other things).
Go ahead, tell me I’m wrong. Tell me I’m blowing this way out of proportion.
Tell me it’s just a show or a book and every single fan knows how to separate fiction from reality (they don’t, go look at Maisie William’s Instagram comments following her season eight sex scene for proof of that). Meanwhile, here in actual reality, we see things like this:
Tumblr media
@thescarletgarden1990 informs me that over in Italy, political figures are using Game of Thrones advertising in their campaigns, too:
Tumblr media
Translation: “Invaded by masses of Others? Not Today. Immediate naval block, let’s defend our borders.”
What makes it worse is that, at least Donald Trump, identifies with House Stark. Or, those who rule the northerners. The people who showed their blatant racism toward the only two black named characters. And the writers never bothered to critique the problematic behavior, instead, rewarding their people with independence and driving those pesky evil foreigners ’back where they belong’.
I’ve barely had time to scroll my dash and I’ve already seen a troubling amount of harassment towards Dany fans via anon asks (including myself, though I just block the IP and delete but I wish I’d saved them for proof).
Why? Because the ending justifies their personal narrative, this bad writing confirms their worldview. Meanwhile, on the other side of the spectrum, the same thing is happening in reverse in response to the takedown of a figure like Daenerys Targaryen:
“Khaleesi’s heel turn is particularly troubling for fans who might have felt a true sense of connection to her character following her epic story arc, which has seen Dany escape some awful circumstances to literally walk through fire, free the slaves, bring Dragons to the north and help rally the troops to defeat the Night King. She has basically been Abraham Lincoln, Hercules and Winston Churchill combined into one person riding a dragon.” (x)
The point here is that the show is doing its audience of 19,300,000 viewers a great disservice by succumbing to very outdated tropes and double standards, and sending troubling messages as a result. For instance, a woman can do countless heroic or selfless things, but you should never trust her! She needs to be tempered. Women cannot wield power responsibly. There are endless messages you can take away from this ending and the dialogue that led us to the show’s conclusion (my personal favorite being ‘Cocks are important’).
And the fans who want to say 'you’re overreacting’ to everyone who speaks up against it are only aiding in this ongoing legacy of 85% male writers who get to tell our stories, poorly, and reap all the rewards.
Sure, all of this could be solely the result of ‘just bad writing’…
Nevertheless, it is what it is.

Avenging Riverdale: Riverdale x Avengers/ Sweet Pea x OC!Tony Stark’s Daughter. My Reaction After Completing it and A Year Of Working On It.
Tumblr media
This will include spoilers to my fanfic her is the link if you want to read it:
Avenging Riverdale
Masterlist
One paragraph is one chapter.
(not a chapter) Im going to be honest, in my mind their are two sections of Avenging Riverdale. Before my Brain Surgery and after because if you have read my fanfic all the way though, Author Notes and all, you know that I had to stop writing Avenging Riverdale for awhile so that I could focus on healing from that.
A trigger warning, good. Two part cast. Prologue. Tally is in deep shit. Steve picked her up and took her hungover ass to the living room. To Riverdale she goes. The horrible fake screenshots. I stopped doing that though because I couldn't find one for a group chat. Her and Tony's fights are rough. She snuck out to a soup kitchen. I feel bad for abandoning that. Cap found out. Tony put a tracker on her. Wtf but they are getting along. Now the Avengers are worried tho. They are shook they are getting along. After her dad became Iron Man things went downhill in her life.
Welcome to Riverdale. 'Murcia is Cap's group chat name. Short Stark is Tally's and Deadpool just got in it. His is World's Biggest Cry Baby. Peter's explanation of how he knows Deadpool is the most Gen Z thing ever. MJ is Tally's Slut. Tally is MJ's Bitch. Hello Cheryl Blossom.
Bucky has been eating Tally's cereal. She's acting betrayed. Veronica is surprised she didn't kill him. She heard someone mispronounce her name. She corrected them. Betty Copper. Kevin Keller. Kevin is fan-girling. She has blueberries. Jade Keller. Jade is trying to hate on her and her family. Cat Andrews. Jade is dragging her by the wrist while Cat is acting like this is a completely normal thing. Andre Clayton. Jade and Tally would've made a great couple. God damn my crush on Malachi and Sweet Pea. Andre is questioning why Jade just kidnapped Thalia Stark amd why she's at Riverdale High. Tally is questioning why there are so many redheads.
Betty warning Tally about Jade. Song writing with her new friends, Jade, Cat and Andre. She's allergic to roses. She doesn't want to talk about her family problems. The Welcome Back Dance. Archie Andrews. Jade and Tally are dancing together. I swear to god my gay-dar is broken. She rejected Reggie Mantle.
MJ being possessive on insta. Thalia punched Reggie Mantle. It's so weird looking back and seeing Tally not know what's going on her mom. Bucky trying to be a supportive boo. The first mention of Nick St. Clair. Her telling Jade what happened. Jason Blossom's body being found.
Omg, I published chapter 5 for 100 reads. That seems so long ago now that the book is almost at 45k reads. Tony and Pepper are getting married.... I didn't get them married until Endgame. Tony and Tally are going to Pop's. She is not at liberty to answer the question of whether or not she jacker War Machine's suit just so he would do the macarena without a lawyer. Bucky, it's her job to make you feel old.
Hydra nightmare. She's talking to her dad about the nightmare. Then she was like now that we had a hard time going down to the basement to tinker. Whether she wants to admit her or not I wrote her a lot like her dad. Malachi. Malachi obviously cares about Tally. Malachi knows that Nick St Clair hurt Tally. They had sex. I'll be honest with you, I wasn't sure if in the end she was going to end up with Malachi or sweet pea at this point I was still debating it. Malachi kept her hair brush.
Tony just apologized to her for pushing. Jade just stole her for a minute. Malachi left hickeys. I love Tally and Bucky's relationship. Tally is Pepper's maid of Honor. Tony's cooking?
Jade now knows about Malachi. Veronica brought roses in his school and Tally starred sneezing. Tally telling Reggie I don't need the Avengers to kick your ass.
Kevin knows about Malachi now. Nat as chasing Bucky. I love how tally is a moderator for these little fights. Tony is going to spar with Tally, he's going to get his ass kicked so hard. Bucky that $50 on tally. Cap betted $50 on Tony saying that her emotions would get the best of her. Tally won. But Tony is blowing it off like oh I let you win. Thalia Stark got a pep rally who would ever see the day. Tally thinks her dad's hiding something from her. Jughead expected her to have a stick at her ass. I love tally I really miss writing her. It's because of lines like Tony Stark is my dad, iron Man's just suit that just really make me miss her.
That was really sweet and it almost made me cry I forgot I wrote that part. Cheryl just got arrested for lying. Tally proving her genius. Reggie asked her on a date.
The Avengers just found out she's going on a date, they're not exactly happy well, the male Avengers aren't especially since she punched the guy in the face. Pepper is getting emotional. Cap answered the door. Mantle is shook. After the date, he dropped her at home and closed the door before he had a chance to kiss her.
Reggie mantle trying to slut shame tally. She is pissed, she ran into that boy's locker room. She's threatening to expose his dick pics. Which he thinks that it matters that she's not in New York anymore when she's the one with all the security clearance and she's Thalia fucking Stark. The extra points she got just because Reggie met The Avengers. Everyone keeps reminding her murder is illegal. Tally wants to destroy his car, Nat is like go for it and everyone's like Nat, no do not influence her to do this. Rhodey it doesn't think Tony should be supporting her in this. She got her revenge. Mantle is pissed, just actually wanted it. Her dad had a screaming match with the principal.
Malachi is starting to miss her. Toni Topaz. Sweet Pea. Fangs Forgarty. FP Jones. Beck Oliver. And Sweet Pea's nickname is born, Sunflower. Toni loves her. Mantle tried to apologize, but it was a shit apology so she blew him off.
The drive-in is being bought. Malachi wants me to come over after school. Malachi asked her out. He's giving her time to think about it. Family dinner.
Really bad nightmare. Then she had a panic attack because of the nightmare. Tony got pops burgers for breakfast.
Malachi and tally are officially in a relationship. The meeting of the New York friends and the Riverdale friends. Her dad's wearing an iron Man onesie. Steve is wearing Captain America pajamas. Clint is wearing a big bird onesie. Her dad is leaving from New York tomorrow to present an invention and wants her to go.
She is staying in Riverdale. Her dad asked her to stay away from The lodges. Tally you telling off Cheryl. Steve you fucking snitch. Talking about Tally's pranks. Peter is worried about her.
The accords. Tony wants her opinion on it. She thinks it's the most stupid idea ever. The governor wants her to sign it but she's refusing to. He doesn't want her to sign it either. She knows more about her mother than he's talking about. Honestly it is so weird looking back at this and having her mom not being revealed like this.
The accords meeting. Tally just walked out of school to be there. Tony knows he fucked up.
Rest in peace Peggy Carter my queen. Yes Nick, help her stop the fight in a Target parking lot. Tally is such a mom. When tally even bosses the King around, threatening to reveal his internet browser history. She just compared them all the toddlers. She just met Ant-man. Ruby Lodge is her mother.
Ruby Lodge also happens to be Hiram Lodge's little sister. Tally was born in Riverdale. I really abandoned the UN plot line.
Her and Jade are going to sing at the variety show. Take A Hint for the audition tho with Mantle in the crowd. Josie wants to talk to her alone. Veronica is pissed she didn't her they were cousins. Dinner party at the Pembroke.
Deadpool. After the variety show her and Deadpool are on the roof eating chimichangas. She's helping Betty look for her sister. She's going to go clubbing with Veronica, Kevin, Jade, and mantle. Cap is really easy lie to. Malachi is there and he's cheating on her.
She called Malachi a dirty mouthed whore. She just got a package from the Ten Rings. PROJECT INTERMISSION. right now she's thinking Hydra in the 10 rings are working together. She can't go to Polly's baby shower because she's doing some investigating of her own.
Soup kitchen talking to the serpents. Tony just asked what's the tea. Tony has so much faith in his daughter taking over Stark industries it's so sweet. Her and Cheryl are starting over because tally gave her some really good advice about being a female daughter getting ready to become a CEO.
Another letter from the 10 rings. Chuck is back. Jugheads surprise party. I forgot I put Cat's bibble addiction in here. The ones that watched Victorious will know what I'm talking about. I think Tally's birthday present is the best one he is received for a while. Cheryl wanted to know about the scars on her back during the game of secrets and she even it was like exposed herself basically she really didn't care though. To the Southside with Sweet Pea.
They really want to challenge Tally at call of duty. They're playing never have I ever. Toni knows about what happened.
Her mom was a serpent, and she went to the serpent's for help. Everyone is surprised that tally is a serpent by blood.
Her father told the truth. Jade scares Joaquin. That's cute, Sweet Pea thinks he can be tally in a game of pool.
She won. And sweet pea is confused why she is open about almost everything but her ex. They had sex. Tally is saying that they can't date because of everything that's going on and she doesn't want to put him in danger. Tally is in deep shit.
Tony and Tally had a big fight. Tony's kind of suspicious of tally right now because she's been acting off. Steve heard something about project intermission. Tally is terrified that Hydra is going to kidnap her.
They're still asking about project intermission. FP was just arrested for the murder of Jason blossom. They're holding an intervention for tally because they're worried about her. Malachi what are you doing there I don't remember this.
He regrets cheating on her. Malachi can read her like an open book. The blackmailed him into cheating. Tally just save Fred's life I forgot that's how she gets kidnapped. Alice Cooper is Thalia's godmother. She's dead. I wrote this and I'm about to cry. Someone stole the body. Project intermission.
Tony freaked out at the mention of the 10 rings. She's alive. The Avengers are finding out what happened with Nick St Clair.
Jade really just spilled everything to them I mean I would too if meant getting my best friend back but still. Tony went to go see Malachi. Malachi said he was more afraid of tally than he is of Tony. But he's still told him a lot.
Tally has powers. Thalia is so sarcastic I love her. Tally was able to send a message to them. By the time they got there the Hydra base was in flames and she was walking out of it. They forced her to go to the hospital where everyone was waiting. Tony tried to keep her in her in the hospital room but she was like no❤️.
The sexual tension between her and Sweet Pea tho. Interview by Sheriff Keller. Welcome home party. The Whyte Wyrm. Sweet Pea wants a slurpee. Toni accidentally ate a weed brownie.
Fangs has skittles in his jacket? FRIDAY you sassy AI. Movie night code red. Tangled vs The Conjuring. Nat has Thor in a choke hold. I always forget that Rapunzel's name translates to Lettuce. They all suggest movies and fight it out. First one is Sweet Pea vs Tally. I FORGOT I BROKE THE FOURTH WALL. Tally won. Tony is having a talk with Sweet Pea. Tally doesn't think Hydra is done. Imma be honest I don't remember most of this because the close it get to when I had my surgery the more fucked my memory became.
Reggie is calling her the walking dead. Swalia date. This is going to be adorable.
The memes tho. They ended up watching Texas Chainsaw Massacre. Things got heated then Tony texted tally. Her and her dad ended up working on the Impala when she got home. Tally told Reggie to fuck off. Her adoption papers came in so that she will legally be Pepper's kid. Archie's an idiot.
I love Pepper. Sweet Pea and Tally are officially dating. Jade and Kevin are freaking out. Her dad is freaking out not like Jade and Kevin. Cat is pissed at her brother. Bulldogs and Serpents showed up. Jade, Cat, Veronica and Tally stopped the fight. She headed to Sweet Pea's.
My fake insta posts were the best. Beck, Fangs and Sweet Pea just got arrested. Nick St Clair is coming to town. Mantle vandalized her locker. Apparently the same thing happened to her mom. She's not going to talk about Nick St Clair.
Tally telling Archie to keep an eye out for Nick St. Clair. Date night with Sweet Pea. He took he took her their hideout. She's contemplating filing a police report on Nick St Clair. They had sex in a treehouse.
Nick St. Clair is back. Veronica doesn't know shit. She finally told her dad. She going to report him. She told Veronica. Veronica confronted him at the party and now everyone at the party knows. She went to SVU. Then she went to MJ's.
They are going to arrest him at the open house. He has been arrested.
No more secrets? Holy shit. She now knows Alice Cooper is her God Mother. Really Tony? Why did you call her out in front of everyone? You could've just talked to her. He wants her to see a therapist. St Clair had a bail hearing. No bail. Southside High was raided. When he only like Sweet Pea because he's taller than Cap. Tally didn't realize it. Drag Race. Malachi vs Tally. Bucky is so chill about it.
(So Chapter 47. Is the where you guys find out that I am having surgery) Sweet Pea finds out about Malachi. Sweet Pea feels betrayed, angered. They're having a fight. Sweet Pea is afraid that because she kept this one secret EX from him the next thing you know she'll be cheating on him. Tally just told him I don't want anyone else. They said I love you. The drag race. Tally won fair and square but Malachi still thinks she cheated. Tony scheduled the appointment.
Apparently you can't teach Thor how to cook. Tally isn't allowed in Asgard. Tally just called Vision a toaster. And in response Tony said don't call your little brother a toaster.
Family dinner. Everyone is there. Sweet Pea just got there. Thalia is the moderator. Nick Fury scares him. They are grilling him. Mario Kart tournament. Cap won.
Sweet Pea sending her bad pick up lines. MJ approves. Jughead asked for a favor. FP is getting out of prison.  Sweet Pea and Tally are talking about their future. (This is the last chapter I published before my surgery)
FP's retirement party. Tally inviting Sweet Pea to the Avenger's Christmas party and New Years Eve party and everyone else.
Her first appointment. Afterwards she went to the Wyrm. FP wants to talk to her. Tally has a spare key.
Social media special.
Trial of Nick St Clair. He lost.  Southside High has been shut down. Jade's period is late. Jade is pregnant. Welcome to Riverdale High Southside Serpents. Mantle being a dick.
The uniforms. Message from Hydra, her mom is alive.
She's known. (Srry, this is when my short term memory was hell so I don't remember it.) Her mother is a hydra agent and was using Tony. She even talked to her when she was kidnapped. FP isn't happy that Ruby lied to them all.
Sweet pea trying to stand up for tally when Jughead was trying to use her Fame for peaceful protest now that's awesome but Tally's okay with this because it's a peaceful protest and something she agrees with and told him it's okay. They bugged his trailer. They have the tesseract from Odin's Vault testing against Tally's blood panel. It keeps calling her name.
Even though they told her not to tell sweet pea she did. Peaceful protest. The statue had no head the next day and tally woke up with a fever, despite the super soldier serum. And she has a fever. Bruce thinks it's because of the tesseract because they have similar energy they're fighting dominance. Next day she's feeling better, and is being questioned by the sheriff.
Foreshadowing much. She's realizing that she was born to her mother just become hydras soldier. Tally's idea is that well her mom's playing chess they have to play poker. Sunnyside is getting evicted.
Her mother is at the Wyrm. Hello Ruby Lodge. That was intense. Tally just thanked Pepper for being her mom. FP trust her.
Veronica's confirmation. Jughead and Betty found the head. Back at the Wyrm. Tall boy was the one who did it. Going to Lodge Lodge.
I think that's an accurate description of Cheryl. Jughead had to reassure them that everything was fine. The Jughead Veronica kiss. They get to stay in Sunnyside trailer park.
Hiram Lodge bought the Riverdale register. The break-in. They decide to go after tally instead of Veronica because you know she's a Stark. That was a mistake because they isolated her and her room and she was able to overpower one of them and take their shotgun away. She also paged her dad. Hiram Lodge owns pops. Ethel dumped a whole strawberry milkshake on Veronica. Reggie being a dick. Ruby Lodge broke into sweet peas trailer talk to him.
Ruby wants to make a deal. Basically what happened with Malachi where he cheated to protect his sister. Ruby said she wants to make sure her daughter is dead inside. Cheryl's missing. Sweet pea has been distant. Sweet Pea is drinking away sorrows. And he cheated to protect his little sister and his mom.
Jade slapped him. Tony is there. Fangs sent her a photo of Sweet Pea cheating. She's questioning everything. The Avengers want to kick his ass. She went to his trailer. Swalia is over until they get their shit together. Carrie The Musical.
She went to Malachi. She went there for help but they ended up sleeping together. They agreed to be one time thing. The plan started, Malachi would pick her up from the musical the opening night. Ruby stopped them, saying she would kill Malachi if she didn't go with her. into which Malachi admits that he still loves her. But she loves sweet pea. The tranqed her and she woke up in a chair. 5 months later she was in Sweden by herself safe and sound. What you saw an article about Archie Andrews being questioned for a murder. And she thought she might have evidence for it or could get it so she's going back to Riverdale. Then flashback 5 months ago Tony's point of view, Malachi showed up to the school after Midge was murdered. Tally is prime suspect right now. She killed a hydra agent. Then 5 months later. Tony is a pops when he sees his daughter walk in with blonde hair.
She got lectured from Steve about running off for 5 months. She wants to tent city. Her and Sweet Pea had a good to talk. Ruby Lodge.
She just wants to talk. Ancient Norse prophecy. Tony asked Thor and he gulped. There is a prophecy and Thor and Loki believe it to be about Tally. Odin agrees. In the final battle she dies. Thornhill.
Ghoulies. Malachi questioning Penny Peabody's motives and then putting the fear of Tally. Jughead wondering what that was about. The iCarly reference though. "If you ever do that again you're grounded for... Till college." "For till college?" "For till college!"
(So the reason I kind of stopped doing the Instagram post was because after my surgery I kind of just lost all creative initiative to do it.) The video tally turned in was ruled of questionable origin. Thalia Stark is under arrest. I don't remember this plot line. They don't have a very solid case. Matt Murdock, Tally's lawyer, wants to push the case to New York. Charges were dropped thanks to Nicholas fury. Archie pleaded guilty, Malachi is leaving. He wants to see her before he leaves. Tally told him he would hold a special place in her heart. Riverdale high, next day.  They want to get Hiram Lodge arrested.
Sweet Pea and Tally are talking about what happened and Tally finally said what's been running through her head. Thalia is Jade's child's godmother. She told Jade about the prophecy.
Tony is acting weird at The mention of a game that hit Riverdale. Ghoulie hideout with Penny and Ruby. She scared the shit out of Penny Peabody. Veronica's grand opening. Tally is willing to let Sweet Pea try to earn her trust back. They kissed... No, they had sex. The manual.
Flashback episode. Secrets and sins. tally roasting her father. Ruby and Hiram arguing. The Ascension party. Tony basically explained everything to his daughter.
Sweet peas playing the game that Tony told her not to and she asked him not to. She said if you can please playing the game the deal is off so he said well done the deal is off and walked out. She's heartbroken. Archie prison fight club. Since tally is the closest thing they have to a trained doctor she is the one that's going to be at the bunker ready to patch Archie up. sweet peas apologizing. Starting Hiram lodges case.
Swedish Mafia. Sheriff Minetta grilling Tally. Casino night. Sweet pea and her hooked up again. Sweet Pea asked her on a date. After good advice my father she accepted it. When he came to pick her up Tony threatened him saying you already cheat on my daughter again I'm going to kill you which I think is Fair. After a good date he asked tally to be his girlfriend again. She said yes.
Cap wanting her to join RROTC. Not tally paying for Fangs mom's hospital bills. According to Pepper Starks are caffeine dependent insomniacs. Tally had cancer. Thor smashing a toaster. Cheryl the bitch.
Tally helping Sweet Pea study for SATs. Hiram got shot. Fangs is back in the Serpents. FP is Sheriff. Ruby Lodge. Half-sister Alicia von Strucker.
Sweet Pea is worried. Alicia meeting Sweet Pea. Jade's water broke. Thalia regrets not being there for Jade. She gabe her sister a nickname. Captain America Fitness Challenge. To the hospital to see her god child. Violet Thalia Oliver.
Alicia is 100 percent Ruby's daughter. Josie tried to ask sweet pea to go to her mom's wedding with her, Sweet Pea denied. Thalia defending her sister to the Avengers. The Pretty Poisons beat up Sweet Pea and Fangs. Tally rushed over to the Jones trailer where she had a run kn with Jughead's mom. She doesn't like Starks. Jughead now knows about her prophecy. Tally meet Jellybean and calls her an adorable human being. Jellybean fangirling. Jughead trusting Thalia with his life.
Jughead's mom being skeptical af. Tally didn't trust her. Chemistry Lab break in. Jughead asked her to help deal with it, as a favor. Kurtz just called her Malachi's ex-bitch. Sweet Pea is pissed but Tally's got it. After a little violence. She's going to go call Malachi. He gave some food advice. She made Jughead promise something. She caught Kurtz trying to kill Fangs. Jughead made her let him go. Sister bonding time.
Alicia's life story. The Gargoyle King sent her a message. Tally is keeping it a secret from Sweet Pea. FPs 50th.
HEATHERS PART 1. Call from Detective Benson, telling her Nick St. Clair is getting released because of 'overcrowding'. The Avengers are pissed, so is Sweet Pea. Tally is playing Veronica Sawyer. Alicia came to see her sister at rehearsal and brought her a red bull. Party. Okay, I'll admit that was a bad pun. Big Fun. She was tipsy for a second because of Asgardian beer. She steps outside, Ruby is there. She threw up on her biological mother's shoes. Tbh I tried to put more references to the musical in here. Dead girl walking. Practice next day. Everyone finding Nick St. Clair got released and them being pissed. Cheryl wants to castrate him, Reggie agrees. Que Nick St. Douchebag's entrance.
HEATHERS PART 2. When I published part 2, Chadwick Boseman passed away. Rest in Power. Sweet Pea and Archie holding her back but everyone who know exactly what happened was ready to beat his face in. Nick called Tally a ticking time bomb. He mentioned the prophecy. Tally threatening him. Tally has some explaining to do. Her going to Sheriff Jones to get a restraining order. Tally shading Steve. Seventeen. Dr Stephen Strange saved her life. Alicia texted her to meet her. She gonna blow up the school. Alicia cuffed her in vibranium cuffs, she called Shuri. Dead Girl Walking Reprise (What a bop tho) Kevin met her at the door she told him to evacuate the building as silently as possible. Boiler room. The fight for the gun. Alicia was dead. She was able to deactivate the bomb. She went outside where everyone was waiting and trying to calm Sweet Pea and Tony down. Then she saw Ruby and saw red. FRIDAY record the convo. Tally just said it's over amd told her mom to fuck off. Ruby is pissed because it's not her ending. Tally just walked away and kept walking. I'mma be honest these are my favorite chapters.
Since the funeral, tally isolated herself in a depression. Now she has a text from an unknown person to meet her at Sweetwater River. Chic. Malachi came to see her. They had a good talk, he made her realize some things.
Cheryl preaching the farm agenda to tally who's just trying to grieve her sister. So she gives Cheryl a verbal SmackDown. Toni being pissed about it. Tally doesn't want to go to prom, so instead she wants to take sweet pea on a date in New York. Betty's dad's prison bus exploding. Veronica being confused on why they would miss prom. I'm telling explains it she's like well I know when that used to be your preferred choice of setting. He's asking him to move on after the prophecy is complete and she's dead.
Veronica's Pop deed is fake. Veronica wants Tally to fight her father. Tally is unsure about it, she could kill her dad with a single punch. Toby agrees the best bet us Tally. Archie taking the ring with Hiram, could possibly get Archie killed. Fight night. He broke her nose. Tally did more damage to him of course. Hiram Lodge has been arrested. When her family and sweet pea find out that she was the reason Hiram Lodge got arrested in the first place. They were starting to get ready to go into business together and tell you didn't want Lodge industries to fuck over Stark industries. When she figured out moves from Avatar to last Airbender and legend of Korra. Her mom escaped from prison.
Avengers discussing protection for tally. Package for tally. Thalia Stank. It was from the gargoyle King but she played it off in front of the Avengers and just left. To go to the hunting cabin of the blossoms. Her mom is there. Time for the final quest. The first one is for Archie the grizzled beast. I love tally. Because when Archie says oh crap, she says I think you're allowed to say fuck in this situation. Archie wins though. Tally had to play Russian roulette to get her in with the swedish Mafia. The next task is for Veronica. All the chalices were poisoned so Betty and Veronica are both poisoned.
Tally's turn. The assassin card. Battle of Blood. Biological mother vs daughter. Thalia killed her biological mother. Jughead's turn. He had won. And finally Betty's turn. She shut off her dad's fingers. After Penelope give the order to kill them all Thalia made a giant barrier with her powers. The farm ascended, leaving Kevin behind. The Avengers were shocked about what happened.
Filler chapter. Therapist appointment. Pop's with her dad. Tally remembering. Sweet Pea checking on her. Sweet Pea wants to run away with her, maybe run away from all of it but tally knows she can't. Then the next week tally knew the prophecy would be complete.
The beginning of infinity war. Dr strange. Wong knows about the prophecy while doctor strange doesn't. Tony just trying to protect his daughter. Tally got knocked unconscious. Bruce woke her up, Tony and Peter Parker are in space trying to save Doctor strange and keep the time Stone out of thanos's hands. At the compound talking about what to do. Tally knows someone.
Tally dreaming of the infinity Stones and seeing Thanos. Shuri. Things have entered the atmosphere. Tally's iron daughter suit. The fight has begun. Cap saying fuck. Thanos is coming for vision. Telling us what's happening to the stones right now. She bloodbended Thanos but the Avengers couldn't get to Thanos quick enough to get the glove off so he snapped. They lost. Tally is gone and so is half of the universe.
Nat is regretting not getting to Thanos quick enough to get to the glove off of him while tally bloodbended him. Tony found out that she's able to bloodbend. Tony passing out. Going to go kill Thanos. Nat and Thor explaining Thalia to Rocket. Thor went for the head.
5 YEARS LATER. Natasha's point of view. Meeting, Barton murdering people, Steve stopping by. She's remembering tally, reminiscing with Steve. Scott Lang. Quantum realm. Tony's point of view. Morgan Stark. Them telling the plan to Tony. Him thinking it's risky. Tony is salty about the fact that if they were close enough when tally bloodbended than Thanos they could have been done they could have won but they lost. Scott's trying to play with his heartstrings, mentioning tally, his first born daughter.
Bruce banner/hulk talking about the time travel thing . Tony's POV. While washing dishes he looks at a photo thinking of his daughter, tally. He decided he has to do it to see her again. He figured out time travel. Pepper finding out you figured out time travel. He's going to do it. Natasha's POV next morning. Scott time traveling going wrong. Steve POV. Walking outside seeing car pull up. Cap getting his shield back. But there's something Tony has to do before he gets to work.
He went to go see Malachi. He want to let Malachi know that there was hope. Malachi gave him a flash drive of Tally's research guy she entrusted him with five years ago. Clint testing the time travel machine worked. When Tony opened the flash drive he realized that a lot of it was mapped out for him already. Tally made a video titled if we lost. Time travel time. New York 2012. Time Stone.
Tony's POV, then Steve's POV. Not Steve saying hail Hydra. Tony's POV. Scott giving 2012 Tony a heart attack. Tesseract sliding to Loki. Steve POV. "That is America's ass" I think that's all I have to say for that part. Bruce's POV. Him telling her that Strange gave it away. She gave him the time stone. Tony POV. Deciding to go to New Jersey.
1970. Tony's point of view. Tony seeing his dad and getting the tesseract. Steve's point of view. Getting Hank Pym to run down the hallway. Tony's POV. Talking to his dad. Avengers compound. Natasha was gone. Grieving Natasha. Making the gauntlet, Thor going to stop his fingers then stop him Bruce snapping his fingers. It worked. Then disaster struck a missiles blew away the Avengers compound. Thanos sat waiting for the Avengers. Thanos vs Steve, Thor and Tony. Tony getting knocked out. Steve POV. Picks up Thor's hammer. Everyone is back. Tally is back.
Tally POV. Tally and Tony reuniting. Female team up without Nat. Tally took the stones before he could snap."You are so fucked." She turned to dust. Tony's POV. She started glowing. He grieved. Sweet Pea is at Stark Tower. He found out she sacrificed herself. The funeral. Tally is alive.
The scene with death. When Tally woke up she didn't remember anything. Everyone is shocked. Wanda jogged her memory. She explained everything. She met Morgan.
Graduation. Tally's POV. She was the valedictorian. She's going to MIT. Sweet Pea proposed. When she graduated, taking on Stark industries, she made sure it was clear the weapons will never be apart of Stark Industries again. When Sweet Pea and Tally got married she found out she was pregnant. Sweet Pea's name is this is Nathan Mantle. In the end they had 3 kids. Nick St. Clair got killed by the Swedish Mafia. She is the Iron Daughter.
Overall, I'm going to admit I don't remember writing half of this story because of my brain surgery and I was working on it during this. I love this story, it is my first time reading it all at once but I am partial to it because I worked on it for almost a full year and is the first Riverdale x Avengers crossover fic on wattpad. There is somethings I was contemplating, like who she was going to end up with, if she was going to die in the first snap or not. I was also going to do a part where she goes into hiding with Harley from Iron Man 3 and works as a waitress in a little diner as a cover, saying she's Harley's cousin, wearing a wig and contacts but I felt that'd make the story too long. But there are a few things I'm iffy about so 9/10.

Note
because it’s been a while since we talked about these two. Kyra and Arlee are… so freaking cute, but also do they technically sorta fall under the enemies to lovers umbrella?? I’m curious. This is also me attempting the crossover ask idk if it’s going well or if I just got really off topic
Kyra and Arlee.... my beloved bbies. I can’t believe it’s been so long since we’ve talked about them, especially since they’re just so amazing.
In terms of them falling under the enemies to lovers umbrella? I’d somewhat consider them that. So if you remember correctly, them getting together is taking place within the AU of Jon and Arleena being raised by the Dawnguards alongside Rhaenys. I haven’t planned out a lot of fine details, but the fact that at least Arleena goes to King’s Landing as another spy of sorts so that the Dawnguards can keep intel on what’s happening is a definite. So the fact that Arleena is from an opposing group and is mostly in King’s Landing for not an ally of the crown, who includes some of Kyra’s family, would naturally put them under the umbrella of enemies to lovers even if it isn’t the full on “oh I hate you” type of thing.
If I were to get specific of the dynamic that I envision for them over the course of the AU I’d probably say that they’re strangers —> friends —> lovers —> estranged friends (?) —> lovers
Okay, now into my ideas for these two within the AU... there is a lot so I’mma put it all under the cut
They meet at King’s Landing after Maecy introduces her new handmaiden named Arleena to her daughter, Kyra. There’s a somewhat instant click of at least familiarity and small connection whatever it is, there’s just something, and momma Maecy sniffs this out instantly
Whenever Kyra and Maecy talk unless it’s super personal type things, Maecy “casually” has Arleena at least nearby. Always ends up with Kyra and Arlee talking, doesn’t matter what or how... it just happens. After a few times of this happening, Maecy totally doesn’t just leave the room and the girls are so into whatever conversation they’re having that they don’t notice that Maecy has left
Eventually it gets to a point where the girls actually seek out each other to talk and get to know one another without momma Maecy making that push
They’re around each other so often that Maecy decides “oh hey, how about Arlee becomes Kyra’s handmaiden instead? I already have a couple and it’s kinda unnecessary for me to have a lot”.... yeah Maecy totally wasn’t trying to set anything up
Kyra totally doesn’t need a handmaiden and has denied needing them in the past but... yknow she ain’t denying this time
It’s less of Arleena helping Kyra with things that handmaidens do and more so them just hanging out
They start practicing using swords together even though both are very good at using a sword... kinda takes Kyra by surprise of how well Arlee handles herself with a sword
Basically at this point, Arleena has failed with her intended mission of being in King’s Landing, but she has genuinely gotten good information but it’s Sani doing a lot of the intel collecting. Poor woman has been doing it for 20+ years but it’s okay
Kyra and Arlee go to the Red Keep’s garden after Arlee mentions her favorite flower which is bellflowers btw to see if the garden grew them, which it did. Kyra picks a bellflower and puts it in Arlee’s hair, specifically weaved in a braid that Kyra herself made prior. Then that’s when the two have their first kiss
Those two have no idea what to do and in all honesty, they don't talk for a while like a few days to a week and it's after Kyra talked to momma Maecy and papa Russal, he's alive in this, yay! who happened to be in King's Landing for a brief time, that Kyra is able to actually confront Arleena
They kiss again and that's when they actually get together
Kyra decides to leave with papa Russal to go back to Tarth for a time, Arleena comes with. Totally just because Arleena is Kyra's handmaiden and not because they're dating now
If you don't believe this is them on Tarth, then you're lying to yourself
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Everything is great for a while, they're just two girls in love with no problems
It's when Arleena needs to return to the Dawnguards for reasons that it starts crumbling
Kyra finds out through a letter Arleena has gotten that there's things that Arleena hasn't told her
She confronts Arleena about the letter she founds, and that's when Arleena reveals the fact that she's the daughter of Rhaegar Targaryen, aka the man who nearly killed Kyra's father on the trident
Just a lot is revealed to Kyra actually. Dawnguards. . . the fact that Lyanna Stark is Arleena's mother, that Lyanna Stark is alive, the fact that Maecy was aware of who Arleena really was
Kyra feels betrayed and lied to, even after Arleena explains and tries to defend her actions. Basically too late at this point
Arleena leaves Tarth and goes back to the Dawnguards for the reasons needed
Both girls are just in a not so good point in life
Kyra tries to move on and just continue with her life
Arleena deals with Dawnguard things. . . she totally doesn't end up killing Daltis after she finds out his true intentions and how he's not as good as he's acted, how corrupt he truly was. Arlee becomes leader of the Dawnguards afterwards
It's when Arleena gets intel that Cersei is having a worrying amount of wildfire produce alongside the fact that Kyra Tarth is back in King's Landing that she attempts to return in order to talk to Kyra again
It's because of the argument that Kyra and Arlee get into that saves Kyra, Maecy, and Russal from dying in the destruction of the Great Sept of Baelor
Kyra and Maecy go to the Dawnguards with Arleena after deciding King's Landing is very much not safe. Russal is so fucking hesitant and not a fan with this idea, but he knows how much Lyanna meant to Maecy and how despite the major strain between the girls, how much Arleena means to Kyra
They spend a while with the Dawnguards. It's nice to see momma Maecy happy to see her best friend again, but it's still a bit weird for Kyra and Arleena for a while.
They're kinda friends? It's hard to deny that connection they've shared since the moment they met, but that barrier is still there for how Arleena lied about basically everything
It's when the Dawngaurds head to the North to help House Stark take Winterfell back from the Boltons, and stay in the North to help against the white walkers eventually that Kyra and Arlee head in the direction of becoming what they were
But honestly everything is kinda weird overall, kinda an uncertain time as the North prepares for the white walkers and trying to gain allies to save Westeros
Both girls fight in the Battle of Winterfell alongside the Dothraki, the Unsullied, Dany with her dragons, the Dawnguards, the Northernmen, Free Folk, and a few sworn houses under House Baratheon and ofc any other groups I forgot to mention against the Night King
Kyra and Arlee are both quite stubborn so they didn't resolve anything prior to the battle. . . they totally should have though, but they didn't
It's when Kyra sees Arleena almost freaken die during the battle that she realizes that it's not worth living a life with resentment against people you care about
Kyra saves Arlee from dying and they continue fighting side by side for the rest of the battle, being the badasses they are
They are just so exhausted by the end of the battle that they collapse on the ground together, it hasn't fully settled in the amount of loss that has happened
Kyra and Arleena look at each other while on the ground, and Kyra whispers "I never stopped loving you" and that's when they kiss again for the first time in a long time
Honestly, these two need a break at this point. Between dealing with the losses from the battle and dealing with whatever they have, they deserve a break
But nah, they don't get it, they have to deal with Cersei
The battle at King's Landing alongside the assassination of Dany just adds to the outside burden and weighs them down, but they're working through it
During the great council meeting, both of them are there
When Bran is offered the chance of becoming King of the Six Kingdoms, him with his Three Eyed Raven weird vibes, he denies it and says somebody else is meant to take the place
He's absolutely alluding to Arleena with the fact she was raised to become a leader and all this stuff he shouldn't know but since he's the Three Eyed Raven, he does know
Arleena being the flustered girl she is of being put on the spot by this weird ass kid, she is hesitant as fuck but since many of the people there have seen what kind of leadership she has and the fact of how much she truly knows Westeros from growing up with the Dawnguards honestly more than some of them combined, they agree to the idea of her becoming queen so she accepts
Kyra is so fucking happy and proud of her, but in the back of her mind the idea of because of the role Arleena now has, things might not go back to what they were between the two of them
Arleena requests for Kyra to stay in King's Landing with her at least for a time, which Kyra absolutely agrees to
That night, the two spend time alone to talk
For context, they're not officially dating dating like they had before all that time ago but they're basically dating
In that time of privacy, Arlee asks if Kyra will become her queen consort
Kyra doesn't quite know what to say, but the fact of Arleena saying she will deal with any and all of the criticism thrown at her by the houses of Westeros alongside the Faith that might come with making gay marriage legal just so that they could be together is what helps her decide that she'd agree when able
Thankfully with the amazing Samwell Tarly as the Grand Maester, it isn't much of a battle to legalize gay marriage in Westeros. There's a bit of backlash, but mostly from the Faith but whatever, having church have a big influence on government is a no go with this queen
Arleena refuses to have an official fancy schmancy coronation yet
The two girls are just estatic and have grown closer during this time after the council meeting until up to this point
Arleena asks Kyra again if she'll become her wife and the Queen Consort of the Six Kingdoms, to which Kyra says yes to
They have a fancy ass wedding, but it's not a huge wedding. Arleena is the Queen of the Six Kingdoms after all, it has to be fancy
Arleena finally decides to set up her official coronation, and both her and Kyra are crowned as queens of the Six Kingdoms

It’s always hilarious to see comparisons of Jon/Dany to Sansa/Littlefinger with Dany being like LF to Jon as Sansa - because of screengrabs from the show where Jon/Dany are posing together like Sansa/LF or something. Hey look they are standing the same way! This means that Dany is LF! And these are from the same folks who are proponents of the infamous political!Jon theory - you know, the one where Jon sexually manipulates Dany to use her dragons. But Dany is LF 😂
Littlefinger is a character in Sansa’s story, not Dany’s. Sansa is Littlefinger’s student. Not Dany. LF is Sansa’s mentor. Not Dany’s.  Sansa spend years knowing LF. Not Dany. We hear all the time about how Sansa learned to be an expert player of the game from the likes of LF and Cersei. Not Dany. Dany has never even met LF. So why the comparisons of Dany to LF?
For the folks who put stock in the show’s writing, if one examines the writing and story arc for Sansa on the show - we could say that D&D make a clear case for Sansa following in the footsteps of her mentor on the show. Just like we can make a case for Bran/3ER being a villain who wanted the throne. D&D’s writing turns the Starks into the bad guys on the show.
Take season 6 for example. Sansa is at first ready to join together with Jon to take back Winterfell. And then she meets up with Littlefinger.
Sansa: My brother and I will take back the North on our own
LF: Will you allow me to say one more thing before I go? Your great-uncle Brynden the Blackfish has gathered what remains of the Tully forces and retaken Riverrun. You might consider seeking him out. The time may come when you need an army loyal to you.
Sansa: I have an army
LF: Your brother’s army. Half brother
With this reminder, Sansa goes back to the wall and immediately starts lying to Jon. She has him send word to the Blackfish to get an army that’s loyal to her but lies about the source of her information. When that turns out to be a bust, she writes to LF for the Vale army and then again keeps this information from Jon - ensuring that she is responsible for their victory and not her brother.
So here we have a case of Sansa reacting to LF’s words about Jon being her half brother and how she needs an army that’s hers and not Jon’s. At the end of season 6, LF reminds her that she is Ned’s daughter and who is the North going to choose as their leader? Her or the bastard? When Lyanna Mormont makes Jon king, the camera focuses on Sansa and LF sharing a look.
In season 7, we have Jon requesting Sansa to stop undermining him in front of the other houses. Like LF praising her,  Sansa praises Jon to his face but also never openly supports him. She makes sure that the support of the Lords is on her side and not Jon’s, something that Arya notices and confronts her about.
The below is from the scripts for season 7:

This conflict then devolves into Sansa and Arya fighting each other because of LF’s manipulations and Sansa being jealous that Brienne is growing friendlier with Arya.

And according to Isaac Wright, this feud ends with Sansa almost executing Arya until Bran sets her straight about what is happening. The Stark siblings then execute LF and we think that LF’s story is over. But is it really? Considering his protege is still in the game.
I did think it was funny when Dany fans thought that Sansa and Dany were going to be best buds and braid each other’s hair in season 8 after Sansa spend the previous two seasons screwing over her own family.
There’s a pattern with Sansa after season 5, where she is pretty much reacting to something LF says. Seasons 6 and 7 she screws Jon over because LF stresses on the fact that Jon is only her half-brother. At the end of season 6, LF puts the idea into her head that she should be queen and not Jon and get the season 7 shenanigans.
As an audience, we are confused as to why Sansa is being so openly antagonistic to an ally that’s come to help in season 8. I think we can look to the end of season 7 for that:
LF: I have heard gossip that the dragon queen is quite beautiful
Sansa: What does that have to do with anything?
LF: Jon is young and unmarried. Daenerys is young and unmarried.
Sansa: You think that he wants to marry her?
LF: An alliance makes sense. Together they would be difficult to defeat.
At the start of season 7, Sansa has technically more power than Jon because she has the Vale army as a Tully. An army loyal to her as LF stressed. We see this as Yohn Royce keeps supporting Sansa over Jon and the Vale army is much larger than what any of the Northern houses have. We keep hearing this all the time from Jonsa stans - how Jon cannot rule without Sansa’s support because she has the backing of the Vale and the Riverlands.
But Jon’s alliance with Dany changes all that. Suddenly the balance of power is overturned. In comparison to the support of the dragon queen and her immense armies, the support of the Vale army is paltry. Jon is going to listen to and agree with Dany - as he keeps doing in season 8. Sansa is quickly losing her standing.
From the end of the show we can also extrapolate that Sansa did not really have a problem with Dany specifically. She did not want Jon as king. She did not want Bran as king. So it’s not that she was cleverly able to see the future and figure out what Dany was going to do in KL. But that she did not want a scenario where Jon and Dany got together in a powerful alliance that ruled over the 7K including the North and brought stability, peace and a long rule.
As her mentor famously said -
“Chaos isn't a pit. Chaos is a ladder. Many who try to climb it fail and never get to try again. The fall breaks them. And some, are given a chance to climb. They refuse, they cling to the realm or the gods or love. Illusions. Only the ladder is real. The climb is all there is.”
And all Sansa does is create chaos to climb the ladder to the top. She undermines Jon, making Northern unity harder. She is needlessly antagonistic to Dany, making Jon’s efforts to unite the realm against a common enemy all that more harder. She immediately uses Jon’s information to sow the seeds against Dany in Tyrion’s mind.
What happens with Bran is the ultimate evidence of this. Bran is Sansa’s brother, a Stark. He is not the mad king’s daughter. He’s Ned’s son, Catelyn’s favorite. And Sansa refuses to accept him as King. How can a Stark of the North rule the rest of the 6 Kingdoms after the North secedes? There is no way the rest of the 6K accepts this.  So Sansa has once again sowed the seeds for civil war and infighting and instigated chaos on her way out to the throne of the North. She would have made LF proud.
Think of Ned Stark’s legacy and Stark legacy in the North - it’s literally Littlefinger 2.0 ruling the North. Poor ol’ Ned.
