Leigh has this thing of pairing people with similar struggles
Inej-Kaz: PTSD that caused them issues with touching other people
Nina-Matthias: Being raised in a militarized emviroment
Jesper-Wylan: Learning disabilities combined with daddy issues
Zoya-Nikolai: Being too pretty (and there is the hidden vulnerability too but whatever)
Alina-Mal: Self steem and belonging issues
Marie-Sergei: the struggle of being the worst characters on the grishaverse and having the fandom deny it just because they are both death

Top ten weird ways Oswald Cobbepot gets called in Gotham
As I was rewatching Gotham, I decided to write down every name that people in the show canonically call Oswald Cobblepot aka the Penguin. It was a wild ride. Please enjoy
Tumblr media
10. "Funny looking fellow"
(season one)
We start with a simple one. This isn't even an insult, it's just a fact. He is, indeed, a funny looking fellow. I'm pretty sure they say it more than once too.
9. "The Dapper Gangland Kingpin"
(season two)
This one it's just silly, especially since it was written on a newspaper. Just... that's weird ? Idk it's silly it makes me chuckle
8. "Yellow rat snitch"
(season one)
We start getting a little weirder. Why a rat? And, more importantly, why yellow???
7. "Stupid lame birdbrain"
(season four)
Just so mean. Especially since this scene it's his dumb husband making a room full of people chant it
6. "Golden goose"
(season one)
Right back to season one and it's incredible dialogue. This one is particularly amazing thanks to Oswald's reply to it, which was, of course: "Honk honk". I can't even start to describe that scene. It's a classic.
5. "Beaky nosed freak"
(season five)
Definitely the best nickname the last season had to offer. Like, you know that moment when a guy kills your bestfriend/girlfriend and you call him the silliest name you can think of? This is one of those times.
4. "Scaley faced bitch"
(season one)
This is the first one in the show, directly from the first episode. I am a firm supporter of calling men bitches when they deserve it, and he did, so I wholeheartedly approve this message. Adding the scaley face part just makes it more poetic.
3. "Sad little breadhead"
(season two)
This one from never fails. Imagine it delivered with the most condicending tone in the world. Just amazing. Makes me laugh every time.
2. "Fruitcake leprechaun"
(season two)
This. This is the one that started it all. It was thinking about this one that I decided that this rewatch I was gonna write down all the nicknames. I dont know if it has something to do with english not being my first language, so I don't have the background of the word "fruitcake" used as an homophobic remark, but this name is one of the funniest things I have ever heard in my life.
1. "Limping little chickenbutt second banana"
(season one)
This couldn't not be on the first place. I am obsessed with the writers of this show, i want to get inside their brains. Because like what does it mean? How did they come up with this? I need to know every thought that crossed their mind for them to write this. This is art. This is poetry. Incredible. Amazing. Absolutely insane. Kudos to the actor who played Maroni because if they gave me that line I wouldn't be able to say it with a straight face.
Bonus:
(For the fans, he is also called "the only thing Nygma cares about". Just... you know, in case you forgot)
Some recurrent nicknames are: "Pengy", "Ozzie", "freak", "cockroach", "punk", bird related names (bird/birdman, feathered friend, chicken, turkey...) and "little"/"tiny" followed by almost anything (man, friend, dirtbag, bastard, creep, twerp, freak, weasel...)
Edit: i realize i didn't mention "Major Crumblepot" and that's on me sorry guys
His haircut is described as "disco vampire hair" at one point (another classic)
He is also called "specimen", which is really funny, and "dewdropper"?? for some reason I don't remember but it was in my notes and I couldn't ignore it lmao

Somebody pointed out that it's rude to call out other fan's headcanons and call them untrue or worse. However, I feel like there is a subtle difference in, this is how I perceive the canon story and its characters, and this is my own take on something within the story. Am I being an idiot? I've never been a member of a fandom before, Aziraphale is very dear to me and I feel hurt when he's misunderstood and mischaracterised. I'm not saying I or people I particularly like have a direct view into Neil's brain, but we do have the right to defend how we see him, right? Cos if I see one more take on how Az should suffer in S3 cos he didn't suffer enough, he's never felt the kind of loss that Crowley felt when he walked into the bookshop... or when Crowley was heartlessly told 'I forgive you'... etc etc, I'm going to honest to God cry.
In general, yes I agree that critiquing other people's interpretations of the characters is rude. One of the most beautiful things about this show is that the characters are so relatable that they can be seen in hundreds of different ways, and that is valid.
HOWEVER.
There's interpretation, and then there's completely flat-out ignoring both the show itself and the cold hard statements that the showrunner and the actor who plays the character have both made, because you didn't like the way season two ended. Michael Sheen never said "Aziraphale loved Crowley as an angel." He said, "Aziraphale loves Crowley." He said this dozens of times, in dozens of ways. Neil Gaiman said that it's a love story, and that they love each other. There's not a lot of room for interpretation there. And that's not even including the dozens of looks and touches and statements that Aziraphale has made all through season two. In no objective reality do the show or the storytellers tell us that Aziraphale only loved Crowley as an angel.
I feel like it's a subset of Perfect Victim Syndrome to make statements like this about Aziraphale. We see PVS all the time in real life when the victim of a crime (especially when committed by someone in authority) is analyzed and scrutinized by the public to decide whether they did something to "deserve" it. I feel like people are giving Aziraphale some of this same treatment when they say things like "He needs to suffer in season three" or "He needs to open his eyes" or "He didn't love Crowley enough to stay with him." Because Aziraphale said strange, inexplicable things that hurt Crowley's feelings in the Final Fifteen, suddenly that justifies not sympathizing with him on what has got to be the worst day of his existence.
It's easy to blame the victim when bad things happen, because it helps us maintain our illusion that the world is just and everything bad happens for a reason, and furthermore bad things won't happen to US, because we're Not Like That. It's harmful in real life, and it's hurtful when it's done to a fictional character who is an important coping mechanism for many of us.
(Oh, and if your brother ever kisses you like that, you should call somebody.)

It's supposed to be perfect. Everything is meant to be perfect. It's a well-thought-out plan that is thoroughly prepared for months when he's away for shooting. This was supposed to make up for his shortcomings. To show that he's sorry for being an absent prick and that he loves you. He loves you more than everything, even more than life itself. But why can't he do it? Why can't he make everything right? Why can't he just be deserving of your lo—
A powerful thunderstorm flashes across the night sky, whisking Pedro away from the loud voices in his head. Blinking a few times, Pedro shook his head to scan his surroundings and realized he was in the car with you in the passenger seat, who was staring at him worriedly.
Ah... now he remembers.
This was your supposed getaway, to make up for you, to make up for his absence during your anniversary. You were meant to go to the beach house he rented for two weeks. But instead of being in bed with you in his arms, enjoying the peace and quiet. The two of you are stranded in a fucking stupid car in the middle of nowhere with fucking rain pouring harder by the second.
"Fuck! Fuck! Fuck!" Pedro screamed releasing his frustration as he repeatedly banged his palm on the steering wheel.
A hand the brush in his arm trying to calm him down, "Hey, babe, P, it will be alright—"
Pedro shook his head, "but it's not! it's not fucking alright!" This time he leaned on the steering wheel, and with eyes closed, he dropped his head with a thump.
Why can't he do anything right? Thump.
Why is he so messed up? Thump.
Why is he so messed up? Thump.
A hand was placed on his cheek, preventing him from banging his head even further, and he was slowly dragged away from the steering wheel, facing the owner.
Pedro's rage was quickly wiped away by guilt as he stared at you. He felt worthless. Breaking the eye contact he whispered, "I'm sorry" repeatedly.
Your heartache hearing that, "Hey, hey, it's not your fault." stroking his cheeks with both of your hands.
"But it is. It is. It is supposed to be great, perfect even. Just the two of us having peace for once, but here we are stuck in the middle of a storm because of this stupid car, and it's all my fault!"
Sigh, you despise it when Pedro acts this way, blaming himself for things that aren't his fault. "Hey, don't say that."
When he is about to open his mouth to argue, you shush him, putting your thumb into his lips.
"Look at me.", when he didn't move, you pleaded "Please."
“It's not your fault”, you say while looking into each other's eyes and caressing your thumb in his cheeks.
It took a moment of silence and staring before Pedro sighed "Alright, alright... I'm sorry I went mental."
"You are always mental," you chuckle, attempting to help him loosen up, which works as he lets out a loud laugh.
"Also I got news, I received a text from the nearby repair shop they said they'll be on their way but it might take some time because of how hard the rain is pouring. So, while we wait for a bit we can do something fun!"
Pedro looks at you as if you've gone insane. "Yeah, let's have fun here inside of a car that is stuck in the middle of nowhere."
You laughed as you listened to him rant on. He's such a drama queen no wonder being an actor does suit him, you said to yourself.
In the middle of his outburst, your attention was drawn outside. You always love the rain.
It always makes you feel comfortable and at ease, and it's probably the reason you're staying cool in this situation. But what you love the most is the feeling of the continuous splatter of the rain in your skin. It washes your worries, problems, and pain to the ground until you become free from them.
So, without thinking or caring about the person next to you, you open the door and walk outside. The world becomes silent as you feel the rain connect to you.
You spin around with your arms extended. You laugh as you enjoy the cool breeze of the rain. Returning your gaze to the car, you proceed to the driver's door, where the window has been rolled down.
"Come out, it's fun!" you called Pedro.
"You should be the one coming inside! God y/n you'll get sick!"
Rolling your eyes from his response, you open the door, startling Pedro from inside "Are you crazy! You will get everything here wet! "
Such a princess, you told to yourself. Grabbing him in the arm you drag him out of the car ignoring his protest.
"y/n, I'm fucking wet! Stop laughing!" Pedro groans making you laugh even harder as you swirl in the rain.
Staring at you looking carefree and not bothered about the current situation, Pedro can't help but feel his heart race. It always makes him wonder and a bit jealous of how you can still be optimistic when the world already crashing down.
Then you surprised him one more when you bowed down and offered your hand to him like a gentleman. "Shouldn't I be the one doing that?" Pedro raised his eyebrows.
"Well, my dear, the world is changing," amused by his question. "So would you sir allow me to dance you in the rain."
Pedro looks at you for a few seconds before he sighs in defeat. Placing his hand on your palm, you put your hand on his shoulder, while his others placed on your waist, and the two of you waltz in the lost in your own world that’s filled with love and laughter.
Maybe everything is not ruined at all.

I feel like a lot of people misunderstand me when I say I'm disappointed with the way Aegon was adapted.
Most of those who criticize me (and some Aegon stans who aren't apologists, because get some help seriously) throw every possible excuse there is in the book in order to rid Aegon of any kind of depth or potential for Season 2.
I've been told I can't stomach characters that are downright bad, I've been told I only cling to show!Aegon's only redeeming quality at the moment (namely, TGC) and make it THE reason why Aegon should be liked.
I really don't know why I gotta say this about myself as a preface in order to debunk that second "theory" but I can absolutely assure you that amongst all the people I've crushed on or fell in love with in all my years of life, only two of them were boys and one of them is my current boyfriend. So if anything my fuckable meter as moral compass doesn't work that well with men lmao. Thank you for admitting that this show is so bad that sometimes the only good quality about certain characters are the actors that play them, idk what to tell you.
And on not being able to handle wicked characters, really? I've got a whole blog shitting on HotD writers for a lot of reasons amongst which is the fact that they made Rhaenyra blander than unseasoned potatoes and you came to the conclusion that... I can't handle wicked characters?
I'd really have no problems with Aegon being adapted as the cruel piece of shit he is in the books. You know, the only source material. If we're talking Aegon individually, my only problem with the route they're taking is making it similar to Joffrey. We don't want Joffrey Targaryen, we want Aegon II. (And like it or not, he's so different from Joffrey it's not even funny) The only things these two kids have in common are dying from poison, having a mother who's a lady-turned-queen, having a grandfather who's hand of the king and being selfish pricks.
My problem lies with Rhaenyra. Everyone knows Aegon sucks ass, that was known even before Sara Hess came up with that caricature of cartoonish evilness and tried masking it as gray writing. It's wanting to make Rhaenyra any better that is ridiculous as fuck.
Rhaenyra was just as selfish, self-righteous and dumb as Aegon. Rhaenyra's motives were just as valid as Aegon. They are both sides of the same coin. That's the basics if you want to understand Fire and Blood. Something Sara, Ryan, Miguel and the entire team didn't understand in the slightest. If you want me to take a show about the Dance of the Dragons seriously, you want to make this SIMPLE concept clear as day, which really isn't that hard.
And I'm sorry, but the situation with Dyana, that poor thing, is always angering to watch. Despicable, yes. Unforgivable, yes. I agree. I like it when there are turns in the adaptation of a story as vague as Fire and Blood, but not when that change is made for no reason other than wanting to uplift a character who deserves anything but.
Furthermore, I beg your pardon a second time for wanting the least possible scenes of r*pe or implied r*pe on my screen. Maybe because it's triggering, not necessarily because the r*pist is played by my little meow meow, ever thought of that? If you want your audience to hate a character, put yourself at work. There are so many ways to do that. Taking the easy route (because it was an easy route, argue with the wall) because war crimes aren't enough to make people pounce at a character like rabid dogs is lazy and disrespectful to people who came to see a well developed show. First accept that there aren't saints in F&B, then you can start working.

Can we just talk about the quality difference between season 6 finale and season 7 premiere?
Season 6 as a whole was pretty lack luster with poor writing that peaked in the worst way in its finale. I was completely disappointed in the quality of the finale (no fault of the actors, it was a writing issue) it felt rushed, and while a lot of the emergencies in the show are far-fetched, this one felt way too out there. It felt too far-fetched even for 9-1-1. The show known for stupid emergencies that make no sense. Like the meteor girl. Or the car being thrown into the building's like 11th(??) floor.
Season 6 left a bad taste in my mouth and I was worried for season 7. I've seen a lot of shows get worse as time went on, their time having passed and having needed to be ended seasons ago. I was worried that was happening with 9-1-1 but I have new hope after watching the season 7 premiere.
It's new. I could feel that it was different, for obvious reasons. But it wasn't bad. Natalia is fine. I'm happy for that. Not just because of "Buddie" but because Buck deserves someone who will love him just as fiercely as he will love them and Natalia isn't that. She just was obsessed with death and Buck had died so she had like a death fetish or something.
With Chris's issue- at first I hated it. I was worried they were ruining his character, until I thought about it more. They're making him more like Buck, on purpose. The two share similar traumas and not just the tsunami. As Christopher gets older, it makes sense his trauma manifests in more mature ways. He isn't the little 8 year old we met. He is still a kid of course, but he's also slowly becoming a teenager. Once I thought about it, I liked it. I feel like it showcases the importance of Buck in the Diaz family. Even if you don't like romantic Buddie, anyone who watches the show can see how important Buck is to Eddie and Chris. I think Chris's trauma response is meant to be a literary parallel to Buck, how Chris is Buck's too. Even if not biologically but emotionally. I believe this is really important in a story telling point of view.
The Diaz family aside, I really liked this episode. The writing was distinctly better than it was in season 6. It made me excited for this season! I can't wait for season 7. I'm excited instead of dreading it! I can't wait to see what we have in store!
I pretty much loved the entire episode and I didn't feel disappointed by it. There was such a drastic quality change between season 6 finale and the premiere. I re-watched the finale before watching the premiere which just highlighted the quality difference. The writing isn't poor. The emergencies don't feel rushed. The pacing is better and the connections between the characters and the events flows better and makes more sense. I'm not going to lie, I lost trust because of season 6. But I think season 7 is going to build that trust back.
I'm really excited for this season!

Saw someone complain saying that it made no sense for Frank to call Karen family on the punisher season 1 and that that hug was also out of nowhere which must mean it was all fan service. I was answering but while doing so the post was deleted... so here is what I wrote:
Well she was the only one who cared about what happened to his family and fought tooth and nail for him to get answers and for him to have a reduced sentence.
He started caring about her there and she already cared because she saw something of herself in him (she projected) and understood him. She was obsessed with finding out more about him from the start. And that was not fan service. She thought if he could be saved then so could she. Everyone else thought she was crazy for caring but she knew there was more and she had been through something similar when her brother died. All the lies the town and the local news paper spread because they didn't care to get the real story.
He was ready to DIE. Like- he had given up when he was at that hospital on DD season 2 and Karen came in and showed him that she cared about what happened to him and she wanted to help him, that not all hope was lost, that he COULD find out what happened to his family. She is the reason he decided he wanted to keep living because otherwise they were gonna give him the death penalty and he knew that.
And during the trial and before that she was the only person he would talk to. And that lasted a few weeks. So we can assume they saw each other very frequently during those 3 weeks and had long hours working on his case together. He saved her life more than once and yeah, he used her as bait but it was also to kill the minions going after her. The blacksmith was gonna kill her and he saved her by crashing the car. He put the song in the car first so she would know to keep an eye out. She also spent ALL night at the docks waiting to see if he was there and Matt heard her heartbeat when she thought Frank was dead, meaning he knew she was in love or at least cared a lot about him. That was before "fanservice".
All of this was during Daredevil's season 2. They found a connection through their losses and brokenness. She told him he was a monster because she was talking about HERSELF, again, projecting because she thought if he killed again that meant she wasn't worth forgiving. Even Deborah talked about that. She was just trying to make him stop by any means. If Frank killed the Black smith he was never gonna know the truth about his family. He said he was already dead because he felt like he didn't deserve her help or her compassion. You can see in The Punisher that he isolates himself because he doesn't believe he deserves to be loved. Even curtis says that he can keep pushing people away but it won't stop them from caring. During The Punisher, aside from Curtis, she is literally all he has. The only other person that cares about what happens to him. Believe or not that can mean a lot to someone who's whole family was murdered in front of him and has no one.
Also, the actors pushed for her to be on the show. And even if it is fanservice…. it was well done, their relationship makes sense if you analyze it or at least understand it and I eat it up.

Every year with every new season, all the chatter about whether Pedro will be on set for The Mandalorian or not returns. The only season this wasn't a problem for was season 2, and still, a rumor about him being a "behind-the-scenes diva" still caused gossip to fly around.
Trust me, it happens every time, and every time it's proven wrong. Pedro shows he's just as committed to the role, that he loves it just as much, and that sometimes it's simply a matter of what they work out for the scheduling or for the sake of his own physical body.
It's totally okay to be upset about Pedro not being in the suit that much, all feelings about it are valid, of course! It definitely adds a charm that was evident in many season 2 scenes. Din, however, has so far been someone else in the suit probably 75% of the time - and that's the Din we continue to know and love to this day, too. Thus, the story and character wouldn't be impacted by Pedro's absence alone.
For some reason, it seems people want to specifically discredit Pedro's contribution to the role, but that doesn't make sense. It's the same as Darth Vader has been ever since the beginning, but Pedro's been given an even more active role in it. Even for Vader's return in Obi-Wan Kenobi, Hayden wasn't the one in the suit for every single scene. Katee also spoke about how Bo-Katan isn't always her, too. The same goes for Din and Pedro.
Season 3 didn't feel the same because it was a darker tone, and it focused on more than just Din and Grogu. It had a lot to accomplish, and in doing so, it had to sacrifice some of the things that are most beloved about the series. You can agree with that decision and love it, or you can not agree and consider season 3 a miss. Either way, it wasn't any of the actors' faults, as season 1 proved that Din Djarin is just fine without Pedro physically there at all times.
Din Djarin has been a three-person team since the beginning. The things these actors can control about Din's character will be just fine in their hands. The blame for the way a story goes, as was the case in season 3, doesn't deserve to go to any of them.
It's hard to drown out the noise about this situation for every season, and trust me, I've been in this fandom long enough to know that - but a lot of what's said about Pedro seems to be, for some odd reason, many people wanting him to fail, and he won't.

The taylor zakhar perez hashtag just full of praise for Nicholas acting and twitter full of anonymous messages asking for his recast because he's not as good as Nick. That shit hurts and I can't even enjoy the new content I'm tired of the hate that man has been getting for a year and a half (it's not about Nicholas I love him so much)
First and foremost this is awful and Taylor doesn't deserve any of this unfair critism that are frankly insults, it's fucking sick
I will say this about the acting (and I'm typing this while listening to the podcast where Matthew talks about how well suited the boys are for the roles)
Both of them nailed their roles. But because of how the roles are written, certain things show easily than others.
Henry is more emotional sensitive and "broken", and because that's kind of an unhealthy mentality which isn't the normal state of human being, it's easier to pick up, which is why even with a surface glance audience can pick up on Nick's intensity and level of performing. For example, Henry spiraling on the lake. It's a crescendo of negative emotions, and you can see it go from opposite of the previous emotion (happy and content) to increasing panic and heartache.
Alex is the healthier one, in the movie he doesn't have much baggage as Henry does, but he does have baggage. At first Alex might seem like a sunshine puppy or something but if you paid attention to the details which Taylor does, you can read so much more. His fingers fidgeting whenever he's nervous like when Henry's taking off his clothes or Zahra barging in looking out. Like him clenching his jaw and watching every second of Henry's face when he goes in. Like how you can feel the aggressiveness in him die down as Henry shouts his thoughts during the Kensington confrontation. Like how fucking in love he looks all conveyed in his eyes.
So TL DR and this is my understanding of the performance: the tricky part for Nick is not to go overboard so that it's too dramatic to the point of being unrealistic, while the tricky part for Taylor is too not under perform it that Alex becomes one dimensional. AND BOTH BOYS NAIL IT PERFECTLY.
But for people who watch it passively, or watch it with negative assessment already in mind, it's easier to miss Taylor's details than Nick's details.
I WANNA MAKE IT PERFECTLY CLEAR THAT I DON'T AGREE WITH THE SHIT TAYLOR'S GETTING I DON'T AGREE WITH ANY OF THIS AND TAYLOR JUST IS ALEX TO ME
But this is a speculation from the acting perspective as to part of the reason why Taylor's getting so much shit
Also Twitter people are just another fucking type of crowd who mostly should use their life to do something better (I'm not on Twitter and never will be) and I'm convinced that there's still racism involved in these commentary even if it's internalized or latent
Anyone who says Taylor should be recast or is not as good as Nick either didn't actually pay attention to the movie or don't understand Alex. Taylor read the book 8 times. Matthew and Nick, the two most important people in regards to his performance, have nothing but praise for him.
Taylor is Alex, just as Nick is Henry.
Hopefully after a while these stupid "opinions" die down and only intelligent/genuine/constructive comments will be left and things will get better. And I truly hope Taylor can see more support than insults. He doesn't deserve any of this.
I'm sorry that this has affect you, and I understand it. Honestly this is why I don't directly look at tags, especially the actors' tag, block whoever I don't wanna see or deal with, and don't go on Twitter.
Just from my experience on dealing with shit like this, I would say give yourself some distance from RWRB and social media for a bit, even if it's a day or two, and come back when it hurts less. Take a bit of a break. And avoid places you know you will see shit like this as much as you can.
Both of the boys did amazing, and imo perfectly in the movie and in these roles, and they deserve all the love and support. Both of them.

Idk if passenger is really a thing on here or if Barry Sloane gets any love on this app BUT I literally adore that show already.
THIS POST WILL CONTAIN SPOILERS FOR PASSENGER IF YOU HAVEN'T SEEN IT!
Passenger. Oh my fucking GOD. I've watched it so many times. Eddie Wells has altered my brain chemistry. The tears I shed over that sweet, beautiful man.
The way he didn't even remember doing it, but thought he must have done because he was told he did, because everyone else was so fucking sure he'd done it, he believed them. He was branded evil, a monster, a freak, and probably everything else under the sun for something he didn't even remember doing. The guilt he felt. The staggering loneliness in those five years. It isn't discussed but I bet you any money his family didn't go and visit him once. In five fucking years. (I do understand why, I totally understand Joanne, Katie and Lily's motivations but that doesn't make it hurt Eddie any less)
Then he got out, and all he wanted was to be a part of his own family again. He wanted to be a husband and father again. He missed his little girls, he missed his wife. He missed his home.
And what did he find, what was his open and welcoming heart met with? Coldness, tension, conflict. His family is everything to him, and they didn't want anything to do with him. He wanted to bring Joanne a sandwich to her work, just to be nice, and she asked when he was leaving. Later his eldest daughter nearly threw boiling coffee in his face, his little girl, ready to cause him serious harm. A few days after Lily asks if she can tell him a secret.
He looked so delighted to be trusted with one. To be let back in just a little by the baby of his family, his darling baby girl. And she tells him "I wish you were dead." The TEARS I SHED when he looked up at her and visibly broke. (Barry Sloane is fucking slept on as an actor i swear to god, he is literally incredible). You could see something die in his eyes. The resolve when he stood up.
He went to end his life in the icy lake. 'This is what monsters deserve'. And who saved his life? But Jim, his 'victim'. Jim pulled him from a terrible death.
Because he was owed an answer.
Because Eddie was the beast that attacked him for no reason. Because Eddie was evil and did an evil thing, and Jim wanted to know why.
And then it turned out he was fucking innocent.
The whole time, HE DIDN'T FUCKING DO IT. 5 years in prison, in a 6x8 shoebox. For a crime he didn't even commit.
If you've read this far, do you get why he's changed my brain chemistry forever? He was pushed away, shunned, got himself beaten up, nearly killed himself over something he didn't fucking do.
Eddie was broken by the people of Chadder Vale. Even his own family. And none of it was his fault. 5 years stolen from him, his relationship with his family stolen from him, his reputation stolen from him, his life stolen from him.
AND THEN- AND FUCKING THEN- BARRY TWEETS THIS.
Tumblr media
THE FUCK YOU MEAN HE HAS HIS DAUGHTER'S BIRTHDAYS ON HIS WRISTS. THE FUCK YOU MEAN HE HAS HIS WIFE'S NAME ON HIS LEFT FOREARM. THE LAYERS OF TRAGEDY IN ONE CHARACTER IN A SIX EPISODE SERIES ON ITVX. I AM A MESS OVER THIS INFORMATION.
HIS FAMILY IS HIS WORLD. CAN YOU IMAGINE HOW MUCH IT WOULD'VE HURT HIM WHEN AFTER ALL THAT TIME THEY REJECTED HIM??
I'm sobbing all over again. Don't even get me started on the 'it felt real, no?' When Joanne rejected his affection so harshly, because my boy was fucking devastated. (Again. I can empathise with her, I do get it, I do understand her point of view. Eddie has just messed my brain up and I adore him.)
Sincerely, I love him. Thank you Barry for him. I'm going to sob in my corner and think about giving Eddie a hug until there's a season 2.
I am never going to be the same.

can i be honest and just say that the snow white remake deciding to get rid of the romance is SO incredibly annoying to me because like... snow white's prince is what people like to claim the princesses are. he doesn't have a canon name, he doesn't show up anywhere except at the beginning and end of the story, literally all he does is sing to snow white and kiss her, he essentially has no personality and his one and only purpose is to be a love interest. rachel zegler claims that the original snow white has no function beyond "someday my prince will come", but really, she's an abuse victim who chooses to be kind, to have hope and to dream of love, and to take control of her own life by doing housework for the dwarves in exchange for being allowed to stay with them. the prince is the one who has no function beyond "one song", other than to rescue snow white and make her happy!!
but the thing is, he wasn't planned to be such a nothing character!! walt wanted to do more with him, if only they hadn't had so much trouble animating him at the time. and i was hoping so badly that the remake would flesh him out and give snow white a truly beautiful romance with her prince, like she deserves, because there is nothing wrong with an abused teenage girl, or any girl for that matter, wanting to find true love! but disney has decided that actually there is, i guess?! i was hoping maybe they could be childhood friends who met before snow white's parents died, because in the original movie it seems possible, to me at least, that they already knew each other and that's why he was so comfortable sneaking past the castle walls and joining in on her song, and why she was so immediately enchanted by him. that maybe the reason she was surprised at first and tried to run from him was because her abusive stepmother didn't want him around and might harm him. or if not that, maybe he wants to work out a trade deal between his kingdom and hers and he comes by and introduces himself like a normal person instead of sneaking in. but instead they're just getting rid of him entirely and at this point i'm surprised the cinderella remake gave kit and ella such a beautifully developed love story instead of just removing prince charming and making cinderella some kind of shallow girlboss.
and then also, they're not including the dwarves all because peter dinklage complained that it's stereotypical to have a story about dwarves living in a cave when, um, they literally fucking don't?!?! it's kind of a pretty significant plot point that the house snow white is staying in is their house and they just work as miners 😭 i'm so tired of celebrities who probably haven't watched a disney movie since they were in diapers thinking they need to say shit like this. AND this whole decision is not even working out for disney because now they're also getting slammed by actors with dwarfism who are understandably disappointed at losing the chance to audition for those roles. when they could've just idk, kept the dwarves and taken the opportunity to be inclusive and give work to a highly underrepresented demographic instead of removing them based on blatantly false information?? and if the dwarves working as miners is still considered stereotypical/harmful, then why not... give them a different job that isn't?
sorry it's just. ugh. disney would be nothing without snow white and every single time i see promotional stuff for the remake it's all just the cast and crew disrespecting snow white and trashing it and saying they're making it better by cutting out its most important elements. i have nothing to look forward to with this movie anymore (not that i was looking forward to it that much to begin with) because apparently the only thing it shares with the original is its title character, and i'm sure she'll also be nothing like her animated counterpart.
edit because i didn't really expect anyone to see this: idk if the whole "getting rid of the romance" thing is true because after writing this i remembered that i've also heard something about the prince getting replaced with a new "robin hood-esque" love interest named johnathan?? so if they're still keeping him then there will still be romance i guess, it just won't be the classic fairytale romance snow white is associated with, and my frustration toward them choosing not to develop the prince into an actual character still stands. ESPECIALLY SINCE i also read that snow is supposed to "ride into battle with him"?! snow white?! imagine if in cinderella (2015) they changed prince charming into a roguish robin hood type and had ella fight battles with him. it would've been so weird and so far removed from the animated cinderella in a very jarring way. i hate it. also, because of an annoying tag i got on this post i also feel the need to add that i do NOT have a problem with "political correctness" or rachel zegler being latina lmao. i do, however, have a problem with her insulting the original snow white while openly admitting that she has not watched the movie since she was a child.

Before the show and before people started reading Team Green fanfictions or Daemon Targaryen × reader (Where they usually always made Rhaenyra as the bad guy in the story because otherwise they had no other ideas) those who supported the Greens where SO little.
People started supporting them ONLY when they started reading Aegon ii, Aemond, Daemon fanfictions, as the the writers in all the stories made Rhaenyra as the bad guy and they toned down Team Greens characters to make them look more desirable so in they're mind they could support them more easily, so they could justify they're actions and the reason they are doing it.
I know that the actors are hot(I would be blind otherwise), but I think people need to start realizing the difference between liking a hot actor and liking the character they're portraying are two completely different things! Just because they find the actors more desirable is no reason to trying to twist the characters into making them more "innocent" than they are in they're eyes.
The truth is that Aegon ii and Aemond are both horrible characters with no redeeming qualities but for some reason most fangirls have that "I can change him" mindset that is turning them more delusional its day and its really sad.
Those who like and are Team Aegon ii, Aemond, Helaena, Alicent, Alicent × Rhaenyra, Daemon × reader, Daemon × Laena, Alicent × Daemon, Team Daemon, Team Laena,Crispin, Smallfolk, Natural, they all HATE RHAENYRA they hate her so much for no reason at all!
I don't support anyone... BUT Rhaenyra
I know Aegon ii did this... BUT Rhaenyra
Everyone from both sides are horrible... BUT Rhaenyra
Helaena didn't deserve this... BUT Rhaenyra
They were innocent... BUT Rhaenyra
They deserved to take revenge... BUT Rhaenyra
This need to stop! If you like you're character so much even thought he/she is a horrible person FINE its you're choice. But don't try to make Rhaenyra as the bad guy in you're story by twisting her character so much, so that YOU can support you're character more easily!

Maybe i'm just too old now, but i cannot get myself to actually like this PJO show. Here's why. Feel free to disagree, these are just my thoughts.
The dialogue is not doing it for me. I know much of it is ripped straight from the book's pages, but while I love to read it, watching someone perform it just...it feels wooden.
While I love moments of all the characters, the only actor that's consistently selling it for me is Aryan Simhadri (Grover). Charlie Bushnell as Luke is a close second when he's not expositing the hell out of things. Walker and Leah are both just...really wooden and one note for me. They're kids, I know. I feel like they could really grow into these roles, but right now...yeesh. It's not awful, just not compelling. I was crazy excited for Leah Jeffries in particular, too!
Nothing about this show feels grand or epic. The minotaur fight was pretty underwhelming. There have been 3 fights: Fury, minotaur, Medusa. Percy defeated the Fury accidentally in about 20 seconds. Medusa walked around threateningly for 3 minutes before getting beheaded (although I did love the massive basement cave of statues! That made her seem a bit scary, actually). Minotaur was. Fine. The kids sit on a bus, run away from a Fury that doesn't actually seem to be chasing them (they look like they're taking a leisurely hike and we never actually see them running away), and after a not-fight, behead Medusa and then petrify Alecto (we see this from afar, for some reason? I know it's meant to represent Annabeth watching, but nothing about the shot communicates anything about how she might feel about what she's seeing).
I know they only have the 8 episodes but if any show deserves that old 22-26 episode run it's this one. Despite how fast paced the books are, we still get time to sit with the characters. There are 9 and a half chapters out of this 22 chapter book where we get to know Percy and the rest of the characters before embarking on this epic, death defying adventure with them. I don't feel like I know the show's Percy at all. He's boring. What makes show Percy a character? Who is he? The answer can be different from the book but it can't be nothing. Same with Annabeth. It's implied that she's this whip smart talented strategist and the most experienced camper, but I'm shown pretty much none of that. I, as a fan, know that Annabeth was using Percy as bait in capture the flag, but I feel like someone new to the franchise wouldn't get that.
The show spoon feeds everything to the viewer. In the books, Medusa is a mystery for a bit. They figure it out slowly. They almost get caught in her trap. Here, oh! It's Medusa, but be careful because Alecto is outside! I've not actually seen why Alecto is so dangerous. Percy accidentally stabbed Dodds the first time, so she was barely a threat then (compared to the books where it was an actual fight). The Furies have attacked maybe once and one of them got blown up in a way that basically registered as an accident. Alecto doesn't get a chance to show she's a threat before Medusa shows up to save them. Save them from the Fury we didn't get to see chasing them.
The show is Unfunny. Not just not funny, Unfunny. The books were filled with humor, and the tone of Percy's inner dialogue was often comedic in the less serious parts. Grover is really carrying the humor of the show on his back. (The Dionysus dad scene was funny, though, but I'm letting out a chuckle every like...hour at most here).
Now, about future things to come/being set up:
-Percy is supposed to be a good fighter generally, but he also draws power from water specifically. This is important when he fights Ares on the beach (which we know is coming and I'm praying will be epic). This is established during the capture the flag fight in the books but not here. We have seen approximately 0 fights since that point and if the show keeps going, we won't see any, so when will this get established?
-Luke is supposed to be disarmingly awesome in the book so as to make the betrayal all the more shocking. Again, where those first 9 chapters come in. I don't think we've seen enough of him to make it hurt like it should. (Again, really like Charlie as Luke, just we aren't seeing enough of him)
-so...Gabe is goofy now. Which on the one hand I really like, but on the other it doesn't feel like he'll deserve the petrification at the end. He's not terrible and abusive, just lazy and a little irritating. (Nice touch making him the prophecy though, made me chuckle)
Things i like so this isn't a total Debbie Downer:
-peter johnson
-"he knows your name." "Does he, though?"
-"can you please tell them to put the hot peppers on my sandwich"
-Dionysus the "i'm totally your dad" wine god
-not even seeing a hint of non-exiled Olympians until the end of episode 3 (makes them feel like the distant immortal beings that they are)
-Lin Manuel Miranda jumpscare
-Blackjack!
-camp halfblood. Looks awesome, appropriately massive and epic.
-wheelchair user camp counselor (love me some disability rep)
-grover is an adorable delight
-medusa is Soooooooo pretty

Trash Anon here:
I kind of feel bad for Stella's voice actor because how she describes Stella long before season 2 was announced that Stella had her own baggage and being a complex character in her own right only for that not to happen. Though this made me think of something:
Was Stella originally supposed to be completely different from the one we have now? Was there an outline for season 2 that was planned before Viv threw it away because it didn't fit her 'idea' of the show going forward and the reason Brandon stepped back from writing due to knowing that his idea of the show was pushed aside for this Wattpad fanfiction bullshit.
I'm only pounding none of this could not be true but now I wish we lived in a world where Brandon was the show runner and not Viv.
Absolutely, she rewrote season two, and probably the rest of the entire story, for her newfound otp. And the best she can do to sell it as romance is to have them abuse each other comedically and reference the stolitz non canon Instagrams via the horse hoody and blitzo saying “he comments on my photos”
They don’t deserve Georgie Leahy she’s just a doll. I guarantee whatever character they had planned before Viv came up with the stolas show was great. She’s an extremely talented LA showgirl, a VA, comedian, not to mention sweetheart to all the Stella fans. Only for her character to be reduced to the hate sink of the entire fandom. And you know how some stans go so far that they can’t separate a VA from a character, she’s probably received at least one nasty comment or message towards her, which makes me so sad for her. Little known fact that she and Brandon have done countless comic skits together and are friends. So…that’s weird. And it’s making me really excited for a Stella and Blitzo interaction. Ironically, the two characters are very similar.
It was around when Viv claims Brandon “handed (her) the reins” that the shows writing went from dark comedy with an occasional sad moment, to absolute utter “stolas is an uwu baby victim who is always correct and right and perfect” crap. And she started projecting onto him heavily, even though she really doesn’t seem like him.
They had to retcon everything, practically every single character, to make way for Stolas’ sob story. Stella is cardboard, Octavia is just impulsive and needs to cut her dad slack, fizz and Loona shill stolas constantly, Moxxie oh god Moxxie completely serves and revered stolas, and acts as his obedient minion always saying “yes your highness, of course your highness” Millie is there too I guess.
It’s clear as day, in LooLoo Land we have a heartbroken enraged woman. Her feelings aren’t invalidated, Stolas is too callous and spineless to even apologise properly, which is his flaw, and Octavia is more on her mothers side than his. As anyone would be.
In Stolas’ apology, he tried to say that he hasn’t been honest, that they weren’t in love, that she has always been (some type of quality that he doesn’t like). And it was always a two sided bickering between two people who aren’t afraid of each other, and didn’t always hate each other. Outside of the balcony scene in s2e1 this dynamic is the same. Only every word stolas says is taken as gospel.
Now he says “I’d be sorry if I’d hurt you but we both know I didn’t do that” which is gaslighting plain as day. When she hires an assassin, she says she wants the “cheating prick” dead. And in Western Energy it’s proven that this was an act of blind rage. She wasn’t thinking about the imp, or the money, only the betrayal and embarrassment. But having her throw a silly party (big fucking deal) and trying to slap him (bad thing she did, but isn’t it funny how stolas almost being slapped is awful with a full orchestral soundtrack, but moxxie and Millie almost dying trying to cover stolas’ ass is no biggie?) and stolas violating women, abusing and murdering imps, isn’t his fault. They brought it on themselves right?

The Sign - Ep 8
Tumblr media
We all see you Tharn, how you are eager to be petted and kissed, like Namami! For a second, but still, because, like a true cat, you stopped it for reasons known only by you 😭 100% cat behavior 😆
...............
I have mixed feelings after this episode 👻 On the one hand, it was very interesting, we learned a lot of new things, most of my wild theories turned out to be true, there were a lot of funny scenes that made me laugh out loud. But this episode left me feeling very unsatisfied. For so many reasons:
Phaya looks terrified after waking up from a nightmare. And after a short conversation they both just go to sleep like…..roommates lol Tharn should have hugged Phaya and comforted him, I would give my right kidney for Phaya cuddling up to Tharn like Tharn was cuddling to him before. This scene begs for Tharn to comfort Phaya!
Phaya and Tharn spent a 💞🔥 night, confessed their feelings to each other, and Tharn even said that he made an important decision for himself and Phaya. And their morning after after all this was… nice. That's all. Phaya, Tharn and we deserve better!
Scenes from their past lives. Hmm. First of all, I find it strange to insist on calling Wansarat a girl when the series shows Tharn as a man. I know they didn't want to show Phaya (Billy)'s romance with Wansarat (Freen) so as not to damage BillyBabe's Brand Couple™ image, but there is a very simple solution to this problem: they could have hired another actor to play Garuda and Freen to play Wansarat! And it would even make sense, because at one point Phaya himself says what does it have to do with him, since he already loves someone and it's Tharn - a guy, while watching himself and… Tharn on a fantasy TV with us 🤷‍♀️🤷‍♀️🤷‍♀️ Maybe it's just me, but I don't see any great love between Garuda and Wansarat, certainly not like between Phaya and Tharn. Like, they met, bam! they're a couple now, then in a very soap opera-ish (which makes it a bit comical) style, they both die. Unfortunately, in my opinion, this story lacked depth, emotions of these characters, their feelings. The most emotional scene was Chalathon's horror when he killed Wansarat. I just... I just don't believe in their love being powerful enough to want them to be together again, to create new reincarnations 🤷‍♀️
Ok, enough with tis negativity :) What I liked about it:
There was no awkwardness between them in their mornig after scene, they are both adults, they are both smitten, Tharn tries hard to hide how mushy he feels and I love his sparkling eyes and hidden smiles. 🥰 I like that Phaya immediately suggests moving in together, it's very much in his character. (It's a shame that there is no conversation about their relationship status, I think Phaya is the type of guy who immediately wants the rest of the world to know that Tharn is with him)
I love the abbot, how uncompromising and badass he is, how he has no qualms about fucking up the deity he serves, talking back to him, reprimanding him and how he uses his superpowers. He's super cool.
The training scene was great:
Khem is fun and a little shit in combat, but very skillful
Thongthai ending the fight and winning it with one, well thought, well placed, killer sentence 💀😎
Khem who puts being Thongthai's boyfriend above everything else, including his pride, him winning the fight, everything. The scene where he beats himself with Tongthai's hands: 10/10
teasing Tharn but again in such a nice, friendly way 😊
astounding detective work in figuring out where Tharn spent the night
Phaya coming to Tharn's rescue and stopping any situation that might cause Tharn discomfort 🤩
Phaya kicking Khem's ass and CALLING THONGTHAI TO HELP HIM AND THONGTHAI WITHOUT HESITATION JOINING IN KICKING KHEM'S ASS 😆😆😆 it was SO FUNNY
Yai telling Phaya to take care of his baby brother and Tharn smiling shyly and sweetly and not protesting at all! 🥺 ok, just kill me now, too much uwu 🥺
The scene of Tharn and Phaya by the river, how Tharn takes care of Phaya, them holding hands, Yai feeling happy for them and the scene of him making a heart gesture with a random guy 😆 I also really liked Phaya's panicked look when he doesn't see Tharn. The strange thing is that Tharn, who pulls Phaya away from the water, promises to take care of him, is stressed by the whole situation, when later doesn't see Phaya for a long time does… nothing. He's not even aware that Phaya's gone! Well, it's not the first time that Tharn is a victim of the plot and what currently suits the scriptwriters, and it probably won't be the last 😑
I liked Phaya saying: cool story bro, this cgi is nice and shit, but what does it have to do with me, as I already have a sweet boo back home, who is a whole ass DUDE (I know, I checked thoroughly last night) and also my whole world 😤 I love him for that 👌 I really wanted to make it clear that Phaya fell in love with THARN, not someone else's reincarnation, even if that's technically the case.
I liked Tharn's fight with that masked guy.
And I liked Tharn in white shorts and Phaya's oversized clothes. Phaya also served some sexy looks in this episode 👌
Absolutely perfect, heartbreaking scene of Tharn's anguish. I love Babe's voice in the scenes of his despair, his voice cracked just as much when they were pulling Phaya out of the water during their training, as it does now. It's... wow...
And finally, the question… what exactly are Phaya and Tharn paying for, what was the abbot talking about, what is their karma, what did they do wrong to keep paying for it? Because this story shows that they are both victims of OTHER PEOPLE, and that karma should be a bitch only towards Chalathorn?! Am I missing something?
(Phaya must have pleased and served Tharn well, since he did not wake up either when Phaya was being strangled and he tossed around in bed, or when he got up first in the morning 🤭🤭)

Review/Analysis of Percy Jackson TV Show So Far. Pt. 2:
SPOILERS
Episode Two:
What I like/love:
ANNABETH OMG OMG OMG SHE'S HERE
Grover my precious child <3
Mr. D. Just Mr. D. Also does not help he's played by one of my favourite actors who played one of my all-time favourite characters (aka Pimento). He's an ass, but a goofy ass. Like after watching the Insta preview of his convo with Percy, I knew he was going to be an ass about it, but I didn't expect him to say he was Percy's dad to get alcohol ToT.
Percy's sass: 100000/10
Walker's acting deserves an award.
Luke just Luke. The poor man sounds more sad than angry (Which honestly makes the finale 10x better if you think about it since it'll feel more like a twist for people who don't know)
Luke just Luke because he's so charismatic.
Percy learning archery and being in the forges on the comedy scale is 1000000000000/10.
Chris and Luke being besties and being close on-screen and Chris just getting more screen time. Do you guys think he's still unclaimed??? (If so... A+ parenting Lin, no wonder your son/s hates you)
Percy and Annabeth
'She's my little sister'- YESSSSSSSSSS
Luke being the one to tell Percy bout Thalia because it just makes sense cause yknow. But also it helps Luke's character as well.
Totally not biased because I love the Diary of Luke Castellan.
Clarisse (That's all I have to say)
THE PORTRAYAL OF ARES KIDS IN THE SHOW>>>>. Like we were always told how scary they were, but like in the dumb jock, bully way. I'm probs just nitpicking but I love how Chris literally says that Clarisse spends the first few hours hunting in the woods (Guerilla warfare tactics anyone?). Idk why but I think that just shows how dangerous the Ares kids are. Like the Athena kids are always hyped and everything for the strategic warfare, but cmon there HAD to be a reason why everyone was so worried bout the Ares kids joining the Battle of Manhatten. Like it had to be more than they were kids of the War god. (Hello the Spartans worshipped Ares and were one of the greatest warriors in history, they were just given a bad rep due to the Athenians writing down history and the myths)
Also, what's gonna happen with Chris and Clarisse???
Tots not biased since I have a weird love for Ares (fav god in the myths) and his kids
The gods (aka Mr. D) showing why they are in fact assholes.
Percy in capture the flag.
The whole mentality of 'if I get glory my absentee parent will notice me' (Honestly I see how people were converted to stick the middle finger at the gods and joined Kronos)
Percy being mini Luke.
Annabeth figuring out Percy was the son of Poseidon.
The argument between Percy and Mr. D about the quest.
YESSS PERCY DEFEND YOUR MOM (the gods do not in fact care for mortals)
Grover telling Percy about what happened to Sally.
Percy being anti-gods
Neutral
Clarisse being a more modern bully. Kinda works I guess. Though why do they think he's being a fake? Like just keep it being an initiation ritual, still works and teenagers will do that.
Criticism
They shouldn't have removed the 'Names have power thing for the gods' specifically since it was a belief that the ancient Greeks had especially for Underworld deities.
