i refuse to believe jake is any other spider-man/hero. he's a legit nerd and loves physics like cmon now 🥱 i could see him being a total flirt with his gwen stacy and that one scene where peter reveals that he's spider-man to gwen and then pulling her with his web to kiss her WHFHAIBFJSDBJSJSBD ahem ahem...but both are so nerdy i just feel like jake would fit SPECIFICALLY andrew's spiderman SO SO well

DNP Rewatch: The Story of My Hamster
Tumblr media
Date video was published: 04/13/2014 (X)
DNP Main Channel Rewatch: 223
At the start of April, Charlie McDonnell (charlieissocoollike) briefly stayed with DNP while he was waiting to move into a new flat.
Dan filmed and posted this while Phil was away (back in Florida with his family for holiday). He also went to the Spiderman 2 premiere with PJ and Jack Howard (1, 2) while Phil was gone. DNP tweeted at each other about it. He also did a radio show by himself (1, 2). (This is the radio show where Dan is sad about being alone and Phil calls in.)
This is a longer video than usual.
0:00 - the collar on that shirt is a disaster...Also full-name introduction for some reason.
0:17 - it’s so cute that he wanted a pet just for him
0:35 - Dan wanting the hamster that was “different” and away from the group 🥺
0:58 - I don’t think that’s a bad name! After he posted this, people told him what “suki” means in different languages.
Tumblr media
1:07 - awww, you can hear the excitement in Dan’s voice as he talks about this
1:23 - too true about starting to care about the success of your Sims or Pokémon
1:40 - love Dan giggling at himself
Tumblr media
1:46 - simple skits with no costume changes in this one
1:56 - Dan is always fond when telling stories about his grandma
2:28 - this is so cute 😭
2:48 - that had to be a bit sad and scary for a 12-year-old to not know what was wrong
3:23 - Dan really knows how to build up a story (just like Phil does too)
3:30  -”did the dog do it?” lol, that would be my first thought
Tumblr media
4:00 - that is terrifyingly smart for a hamster
4:12 - I would be shocked if a hamster managed to do that in front of me now, let alone at 12-years-old
4:33 - I love that he still remembers that it was a bible, lol. As well as all the other books. 😂 (Also, there goes the sun setting outside the window.)
4:58 - we learn a lot about Dan as a child in the video. He does childhood stories much less than Phil does, so that’s pretty rare.
5:20 - that is pretty unbelievable
Tumblr media
5:35 - yeah, I bet his parents were not thrilled with that
5:51 - awww, guilt for not letting the hamster escape when she wanted to 😕
6:15 - a hamster having an existential crisis apparently
6:50 - this is intense for a story about a hamster
7:10 - “the wilderness of suburban England” lol
7:35 - that is an intense connection with a hamster
Tumblr media
8:06 - he was done be surprised by this point.
8:21 - awwww bye to Suki 🙁 I guess it was good he wasn’t too sad about it by the time she really escaped?
8:50 - and here we are to the part of the video Dan describes in the video description as “Also yes I was definitely mostly taking the piss at the end there but it's a good moral anyway.”
9:10 - “merely existing in comfort is not living” is similar to things Dan says a lot throughout the years though.
9:14 - yep...thinking forward to Trying to Live My Truth and even YWGTTN
Tumblr media
9:38 - why do they have both a hamster and a guinea pig like this, lol
I really am just impressed with his storytelling throughout this entire video. Even without any skits or anything he can hold attention. (Also he gesticulates so much it was hard to pick screenshots that looked decent, lol.)

17 moons to go!
I bought Mario Odyssey about a month ago.
I’ve been playing it anywhere from 1-12 hours a day since.
I’m not a “casual gamer” in the sense that I can put a game down and come back in a month. If there’s a game I love, like Odyssey or Spiderman, that shit becomes my life.
So I feel like I’m in a unique position to review it; I’m obsessed with it, but not to the point where I can/would “speedrun” it. I’m not an expert, and in fact, it’s only one of two (2) Mario platform games I’ve ever played, the other being Sunshine for Gamecube nearly 15 years ago.
Anyway, let’s get this ball rolling.
Odyssey is light on plot, as are most Mario games. Bowser has kidnapped Peach and is going to visit 10+ “Kingdoms” to steal something from each one to make their wedding complete. (Flowers from one kingdom, a cake from another, etc.) Not much different from any other “The princess is in another castle” game.
I don’t know about you, but I don’t play Mario games for the plot because it’s pretty much the same every time to the point of it being a meta joke. Like most Mario games, there’s always a mechanic/gimmick that draws one in. In Super Mario Sunshine, for example, it was the water spraying thing. That was a lot of fun to fuck about with.
This time, you have control of your own hat. Sounds kinda lame, ends up being pretty badass. Bullet Bills are no longer a danger, for you simply press Y and you BECOME Bullet Bill. There’s a point at which you can capture a T-Rex, but I’d have to say my favourite capture is the “Pokio” which can attach itself to walls and makes for some interesting and challenging gameplay at points. Also love the lava guys.
Collect “moons” to power your ship, and you can advance to the next level. At each level there’s usually a boss to defeat, then you can explore and collect moons. At the end of the game (spoilers, kinda) each kingdom unlocks about 20-50 more moons that were unavailable during the main story - giving the player incentive to keep playing.
And to me, that’s one of the absolute best things Odyssey does: it has end-game content up the ASS.
There are 4 endings to Mario Odyssey: one for completing the main story, one for going an extra mile and unlocking the “Darker Side [of the moon]” Kingdom, one for collecting every. single. moon. in the game, and one for grinding and being able to buy the additional 120 moons required to reach 999 moons.
So to follow just the main story, you end up defeating Bowser and saving Peach. But the story tells you outright that, if you can get 500 moons, there’s something more.
You unlock the hardest level in the game. A 14-segment level wherein, if you die, you go back to the start.
Now, full disclosure: I played with Assist Mode, which means three things: you get arrows to direct you toward your next goal, you never run out of breath when underwater, and most importantly, you get 6 lives instead of 3.
It’s not that I couldn’t have beaten the game in regular mode; I simply play for fun, not to be overly challenged. Because, in my opinion, the boss fights aren’t everything. To me, the game is about collecting.
I’m a completionist. I have to see, collect, do, unlock, discover and climb everything. It’s why I’m still trying to 100% Spiderman long after completing the game. And it’s why, even though the moons I have left seem impossible to collect, I’ll never give up. Even Dark Side 3&4.
Right now I’ve collected every single special coin, all the souvenirs, and my only moons missing are 13 races that I’m working on getting the routes down for, the Snow Kingdom moon where you have to collect all the rocket flowers to boost yourself up a massive hill, the Bullet Bill challenge on the Dark Side of the moon, and volleyball.
I feel like I know every kingdom like the back of my hand without even needing a map at this point.
So to get to my point, this is a fantastic game. Definitely in my top 10 if not my top 5 of all-time favourites. It’s challenging in a way that I love - it challenges you to complete absolutely everything in the game.
For one example, the Koopa races. Most are the bane of my existence. There are always 2 per kingdom, one “Regular” and one “Master”. They’re so challenging (for me) that I haven’t even passed the Regular Koopa races for most kingdoms. But there’s one that I just completed (both Regular and Master) that really epitomizes the feel of the game. Lake Kingdom.
To beat this race, you absolutely need to perform a very, very complicated jump combo. Roll, long jump, triple jump, cap throw, cap dive, second dive. In perfect succession to get up a wall. And it took me a good 20 tries. But when I finally got it, TWICE, I felt like a God. Much like the very last challenge on the Darker Side (though having 6 lives instead of 3 definitely made that much easier).
My point is that the game does well to deliver a sense of accomplishment, even though a lot of people would see the post-game activities as pointless or grinding. While I have no plans to grind up to 9999 coins to buy a fucking skeleton costume, I thoroughly enjoy the “grind” of trying different routes for races and finally getting it right. To me, it’s a challenge, not just repetition.
And as much as I hate volleyball, I’ll probably end up spending a good 10 hours playing it just to get that moon to have them all.
Long story short: it’s a great game for even a casual player, and an even greater game for those of us who have to complete EVERYTHING.
Finally, one more example: The Sims.
In Sims 3, when there were only about 15 skills, I trained a Sim to level 10 of each, definitely feeling that “completionist” vibe. But it wasn’t very satisfying, because there wasn’t really much of a challenge. It was just shit to do. (Sims 4 I don’t even bother because there’s literally 30+ “skills”). Structuring a game in a way where every hustle is a different kind of hustle is very good design.
That’s all for now. Stay Greater.

Super Women- The Winding Road of Portrayals of Female Heroes in the Comics
One would not be far off in assuming that we are living through a cultural sea change of the portrayal of superheroines in American Culture. After some 70 years, Wonder Woman is finally appearing in her own movie, long-time male comic avatars are being replaced with female characters, and the industry of comics itself is finally, in fits and starts, looking in the mirror and starting to reconsider the way women in the art form are represented. It’s been a long journey from the wild west days of Fantomah and Miss Fury, one that today’s blog entry seeks to briefly examine.
The Pioneers: Wonder Woman and the First Superheroines
Tumblr media
IMAGE: Early Wonder Woman and Fantomah Representations.
Women had a tough row to hoe from the very beginning in comics. The first known superheroine characters to be published, including Fletcher Hank’s Fantomah, were certainly unique, but they were like needles in a haystack. Jon Morris (2015) writes that Fantomah might very likely be the first female superhero (p. 50). She has recently been rediscovered and brought back to some form of prominence, mostly due to the bizarre nature of her powers and her creator’s notoriety. The first major heroine, and the only one to stand the prolonged test of time, Wonder Woman, wasn’t even featured on the cover of her first appearance. Daniel Wallace recounts how she first appeared off the cover and inside All Star Comics in 1941 (p. 40, 2014). All things considered, it was a miracle she was published at all.
Conceived by William Moulton Marston for DC comics in 1941, many leaders in the field were less than thrilled with the introduction of a female hero, even as a back-up feature. Lepore (2014) notes that when the character joined the Justice Society of America following feedback from the readers, writer Gardner Fox made her a secretary and wrote her out of the action whenever possible (pp.210-211). The bizarre nature of some of the early Wonder Woman stories (anybody like bondage? Lots of bondage here) didn’t help matters. Still, they didn’t hurt much either, as Wonder Woman served as a beacon for all comic heroines to follow and was one of the few comic heroes, along with Batman and Superman, to survive the implosion of superhero comics in the early 1950s.
Wonder Woman would also have one unique trait shared by only a handful of DC characters (including Black Canary and Saturn Girl) and a larger number of Marvel Comic Heroines (The Wasp, Marvel Girl, Black Widow) for the next several decades: she wasn’t a gender-swapped clone of a male hero.
Turning Women into Girls and Swapping Genders- Silver Age Heroines
For most scholars and writers like Chris Sims, the “Silver Age” of superhero comics is generally considered the time period between the late 1950s, with the re-introduction and reformatting of the DC comics character the Flash (2016), and early 1970s that saw the renaissance of superheroes and the emergence of Marvel Comics as the first real competition DC had ever seen. This time period saw the addition of a plethora of male and female characters in the comics, but unlike Wonder Woman and others from the earlier Golden Age of comics, most of the heroines introduced here had some frustrating handicaps. The most popular heroines were either female clones of popular male heroes, like Supergirl, Mary Marvel and TWO Batgirls or were, well, labeled as “girls” instead of “women”.
The “girl” issue is a bizarre aspect of this story. Many of the new female heroes introduced in the 60s and 70s were either girl friends, fiances, or rookie partners to male heroes. Hence names like “the Invisible Girl” (later changed to “woman”), “Marvel Girl”, and the aforementioned Batgirl and Supergirl.  Characters like The Wasp and Big Barda were beaus to characters like Antman and Mister Miracle, respectively. While there was nothing intentionally “lesser” about these portrayals, it was no surprise that Desta (2017) notes that feminists like Gloria Steinem  held up the original superheroine Wonder Woman as the prime example of characters to follow.
Tumblr media

The clone concept of heroines is an ongoing trend to this day, pursued for both noble (lifting up female perspectives in popular books) and less than noble (laziness and copyright purposes) purposes. The two most famous examples were done to cash in on trends. Supergirl, first appearing in 1959 was part of a trend of making “Super” spin offs that lasted for almost two decades. Kistler (2015) relays that Superman’s cousin joined the pages graced by other “super” characters like Krypto the Super Dog. The second Batgirl (Barbara Gordon- the one you’ve heard of) was introduced in the comics after Yvonne Craig originated the role on the Batman tv show during the 60s. Daniels (1999) notes that the tv show executives actually asked DC comics to put the character into publication (p. 115). These two characters have transcended the clone stigma in the following years, but it still boggles the mind that they occupy the top three spots in terms of popularity when it comes to DC’s heroines. In terms of design, these characters were fundamentally gender-swapped versions of the male characters they were fashioned off of, with small aesthetics changes like hair color, skirts instead of pants, or slight palette variations in their colors.

Copyright issues led to the production of several clone heroines at Marvel Comics in the late 1970s. Howe (2012) relates that Marvel realized they had to control certain copyrights, so POW!, here’s a Spider Woman comic (p.193). Universal might create a female Hulk for the 70’s t.v. show that they’d own? POW! Here’s a She-Hulk comic (p. 220). While these would eventually turn into individualized characters, it would take a few decades, and about three to four iterations of Spider-Woman. Still, as you can see below one should give Marvel some credit: each iteration of Spider-Woman had a unique costume, with the second one even serving as inspiration (at least, in storyline) for the second most famous Spiderman costume.

The Rough Years: Weird Anatomies, Revealing Costumes and Women in Fridges
If one had only recently gotten involved in looking at superhero comics and the way they portray women, they could be forgiven for accepting the stereotype promoted by the Simpsons of comic book fans being overweight, sarcastic shut-ins who are incapable of talking to women. The representations, especially the most popular ones, could be troubling. Some major examples include the depictions of women in the work of Frank Miller and the general artistic aesthetic of the late 1980s and early 1990s.
Frank Miller is widely regarded as one of the Godfathers of modern comics, through his revolutionary work on characters like Daredevil and Batman. Over time, some of his work has proven controversial. His portrayal of women has especially drawn controversy. In some of Miller’s stories, characters like Catwoman are turned into dominatrixes and others, like Elektra, are created to much acclaim only to be murdered as plot devices to motivate the male heroes. Daniels (1991) notes, but does not really comment on, the fact that Elektra is “killed by another criminal and died in her blind lover’s arms” (p. 190). To be fair, Miller did bring the character back to such acclaim that she has sometimes trounced Daredevil in terms of popularity. These characters are also drawn in a very sexualized manner by Miller, especially in his later work. An example of this would be the character of Carrie Kelly, a female Robin first introduced in “The Dark Knight Returns” (Miller, 1986). Portrayed as something of a tomboy in the original story, Miller draws the character accordingly. Fast forward to the early 2000’s, when Miller revisited the story in the sequel “The Dark Knight Strikes Again” (Miller, 2001). Carrie has moved from the Robin persona to one based on Catwoman, complete with skin-tight latex. The depiction is more controversial, and the case for balance or excuses for Miller is undercut by the inclusion in the story of protest leading faux superheroine strippers and a naked news anchor. Cultural change might justify the changes, but the depictions remain somewhat controversial.
Tumblr media

It would be extremely unfair to present the example of Miller’s work as an outlier. Indeed, looking back at the comics of the time, his representations were modest. The late 80s and early 90s brought in bodybuilder bodies for male characters and hourglass, supermodel frames for women. To go through and list all of the examples would take forever and a day, so we will use the magic of images to show a brief sampler, and then focus on one particularly flamboyant and infamous example of sexualization.
Tumblr media

Illustrators like Jim Lee, Rob Leifeld, Todd McFarlane and others lead the way in stylizing characters to the extreme during this time period. A visual look at the drastic changes wrought by these trends can be seen in the Fantastic Four’s Invisible Woman (no longer a Girl). As Sanderson (2000) points out, the Invisible Woman’s designed was updated by artists over the years (p. 39). The decades passed and as we hit the 90’s, her costume goes from essentially a jumpsuit, to a body sock, to a bathing suit, complete with a cutout 4 over the bosom. This apparently was so drastic a change that it only lasted a handful of issues before converting to a more conservative dress once again. This is an extreme example, but such occurrences were everywhere.
Tumblr media
IMAGE: Invisible Woman Costume updates over the years.
This state of affairs continued during the booms and implosion of the comics industry in the 1990s. The visual elements continue to this day, though they are not nearly as dominant as they once were. There are, of course, many, many comics getting published at any one time, and many different representations and styles going into them, but the trend was not subtle and set the stage for what would happen in the new millennium.
In 1999, comics writer Gail Simone set up a website called “Women in Refrigerators”, which kept a running tally murdered, raped, or otherwise afflicted superheroines in comics. The term references a Green Lantern story where the titular hero’s girlfriend is killed and shoved into his refrigerator. The point of the moniker was to point out the degradation that several female heroes in comics were exposed to. The fact that they were often used simply as props for the male heroes or “depowered, raped, or cut up and stuck in the refrigerator” (Simone, 1999) was pointed out vigorously, which related to how female superheroes were being represented at this time. This was a fairly revolutionary statement and website to create, and seeded the ground for debate as the 2000’s rolled in.
CHANGING TIMES and FEMALE FANS: Modern Developments
Tumblr media
IMAGE: Modern female heroes Captain Marvel and Squirrel Girl
As we move into the present day, publishers began to wake up to the need to update how they represent women in the medium. Thanks to things like Women in Refrigerators and Gamergate, DC, Marvel, and others started presenting female heroes differently.
Examples of addressing the problems in the past interpretation of women include efforts by Marvel to replace male leads with female leads and intentionally take off monikers like “woman”, “she-”, or “girl”. As Khal (2016) notes, Wolverine, Iron Man, Thor, and most famously (and for the second time, oddly enough) Captain Marvel monikers were all passed on to women. No “girl” monikers were affixed to the new titles. Captain Marvel was actually an example of a clone character seizing the mantle of the original character, and has completely eclipsed the original space policeman who originated the name. She has proven so successful in recent years that Eisenberg (2017) reports she will be the star of the first female-lead titled Marvel Movie.
Marvel has also been actively promoting new and/or obscure characters that harken back to the rebel spirit of characters like Wonder Woman and Fantomah when they first came out. Marvel Characters like Squirrel Girl are quirky and have a distinctly millennial tilt. They are drawn in a modern style that doesn’t rely on gross exaggerations or conservative staples of the years before. These new characters and the updated usage of others have coincided with somewhat mixed reactions (Hibberd, 2017) but a much more diverse audience.
DC has been busy updating characters as well. Revolutionary takes on characters like Batgirl, who has been popular enough to spark work on a new solo film by Joss Whedon (Foutch, 2017), have similarly brought in new readers and more positive representations of female heroes. Granted, the exploding popularity of characters like the often abused and forgiving Harley Quinn, as seen by the plethora of merchandise based on her appearance in the film Suicide Squad (Amazon, 2017) can sometimes be seen as a step backward. Regardless, there has been noticeable improvement within the last 10 years.
Over time, it’s been a matter of two steps forward and one major step back for superheroines in comics, both in how they are written and how they are portrayed on the page. While it’s taken a few too many decades, it is a positive sign that so many new characters and exciting developments have been happening so recently. Hopefully this trend continues into the future.

I think Aunt May wins the #10yearchallenge!

Teve gente comemorando a saída do armário:

E brincando com as decepções amorosas da vida, no melhor estilo “rir para não chorar”:

— MarvelLATAM (@MarvelLATAM) 15 de janeiro de 2019
Também teve série de televisão, que está há quase dez anos no ar, exibindo as mudanças físicas que astros de seu elenco sofreram no período. Foi o que fez, por exemplo, o perfil oficial de The Walking Dead, que estreou em 2010 na TV americana:
By popular demand here are some more #WalkingDead #TenYearChallenge side-by-sides

Things I Enjoyed This Week
Hi!  I thought I might try doing a thing where I look back through my YouTube Video History and the Podcast I’ve listened to and share them with anyone who happens to stride past this post along with other things I enjoyed.
Main Fixation
Banana Fish - You know it’s funny: I actually wanted to write a series on Korean Dramas and how I completely forgot I had a Dramafever account that I already paid a yearly fee on.  But then Banana Fish came along and I tossed that plan...softly back into the storage room because I might pick up on it later.  Banana Fish is a show adapted from an 80s manga that’s about a lot of upsetting topics without being too gratuitous and disrespectful, but they may deter you from watching, which is fine!  Don’t pressure yourself to watch something if it might cause you harm.
However I want to say one thing: I don’t think you’re wrong to be interested in Banana Fish because you liked Yuri on Ice.  I loved Yuri on Ice.  So instead of saying how its  n o t h i n g  like Yuri on Ice I’ll say something I DO think these two have in common: its about a relationship between two men that’s treated as pivotal to the show.  They’re not treated as a joke, or a fetish, or a tease.  There's not a “but one of them has a girlfriend!” plot point to give rude people opportunity to say how delusional you are for thinking they were together.  The relationships are, to me, at the heart of the show, and personally, both shows are really good when it comes to the relationship, though obviously facing differing themes and circumstances.
This Review of the first episodes will give you clearer warning signs than I can.  Right now it’s at Episode 2 on Amazon Video but if you can’t access it I won't tell on you if you find other means of watching it.  You could also ask around for a way of reading online or wait for the manga to be reprinted.
I also decided to write my thoughts on the show throughout (posts made by me are here,) and am currently planning one that’s about how the relationship goes from brief acquaintances to memorable ones.  This doesn’t sound like a big stretch but don’t worry I managed to split it into three part.  Haha...ha...
Videos
The Actual Best Spider-Man Game by The Cosmonaut Variety Hour - A look at a Spiderman game that’s not Spiderman 2 from a guy who loves Spiderman.  Spiderman.  How did I suddenly get into Spiderman?  Homecoming.  Why?  Bad School News Program that’s why.  Also heroes who put on a costume to give strangers directions are immediately my favorite.  So it’s nice to see a video pop-up about Spiderman, even when its not always about homecoming...Spiderman.
BABIES...BABIES...BABIES...Sims 4 by Markiplier
I mainly lost sight of Markiplier for a awhile and then I saw this video on my suggestions.  I play Sims 4 on and off (and always lose my save and thus have to start over every time) and oftentimes I have a habit of wanting to have all my Sims healthy, happy, and working toward their goal.  In other words try to be...goooood….? to my sims?  Markiplier however...does not know how to optimally play it.  And it’s a sight to behold.
Shaun of the Dead (2004) - Movies with Mikey by FilmJoy
Confession- Every time I hear the opening jingle of FilmJoy videos I go “Is this a holiday themed episode?”  It’s the bells I tell ya!  Other Confession-  I haven’t watched Shaun of the Dead since I was 12!  I should fix that.  This video reminded me to do so.  Thanks!  (It also, you know...does a very interesting analysis outside the realm of just its humor and is a good watch)
ICE CREAM SONGS by Louie Zong
The chaotic energy coming from this video is astounding.  This is animatic from a clip of the MBMBAM show (that I listened to a day before funnily enough) and if you think you need to listen to the show to understand what’s going on...you do!  But watch the video anyway.
The West by ContraPoints
“The West” is being destroyed by SJWs and Feminism?  Oh noooooooo...okay this one is political but if you’re tired of being told you’re destroying civilization because you complain about...anything ranging from real world devaluing of human lives for ideals to boob plates in games...ContraPoints is downright cathartic.  Also likes corndogs...a lot.  This might not be for kids...okay its definitely not for kids.  There’s a lot of corndogs in this video.
Bi Lighting: the Rise of Pink, Purple, and Blue by KyleKallgrenBHH
Kyle usually talk about certain films and how it relates to a theme of sorts, but this time around he discusses the rise in popularity with “Bi-Lighting.”  It’s interesting and yes the bi song is in there do you even need to ask?
The Story of Bee Movie by Quinton Reviews
I think I liked this movie when it came out?  I think it was solely for the flower parade.  Anyway Quinton Reviews also looks at how this strange meme movie came to be.  Be...he, hehe, ha HA!  Also he has a Fallen Titans Series which looks at the history of YouTube creators if you’re interested in that sort of thing.
Podcasts
Waypoint
Waypoint uploads a podcast twice a week, which is nice because they’re my favorite.  They have insightful commentary on not just games, but games journalism, politics around games, game typos, and so on.  It’s an interesting listen, while still being enjoyable.  This week they discussed fans who are so entitled they actively set out to get two developers fired...and the company just complies?  It’s infuriating and like...bad?, but the waypoint team still keep their heads about it, and I think its an important listen to remind people to be a little more decent to the creators who make the content that they supposedly care about.
Oh No, Ross and Carrie!
Ross and Carrie explore fringe science, claims of the paranormal, and if they have hot drinks!  They’re two sorta investigators that investigate different topics ranging from Flat-Earthers to Scientology to Brain Altering Drugs to currently Out of Body Experiences.  If you’re interested in these sort of things definitely check them out!
My Brother, My Brother and Me
A comedy show with three brothers where they’re sent odd stories and give nonsensical advice as well as weird yahoo answers.  I don’t know how to describe to you the weird aura I get from this show, but if you happen to find yourself washing dishes or putting away clothes give this one a whirl while you got your hands busy.  For adults and cool babies only.
Trends Like These
A Friday Show summing up all the trending news of the week.  If you can’t stand news but you still feel obligated to know what going on Trend Like These is a good way to get your weekly fix without crumbling like a peppermint wrapper every time you turn on the tv.  Also the hosts do try to bring up the mood and are music to my ears.  Also they have time stamps WHICH EVERY PODCAST SHOULD HAVE.
Sawbones
A Doctor talks about the weird turns medical science goes to throughout history with her Comedian husband.  This week they talk about the Bends because wow those Thai boys and their coach’s rescue was astounding and miraculous wasn’t it?  Let’s talk about how terrifying diving in caves is now that they’re safe.
The Adventure Zone
The MBMBAM show plus Dad play a roleplaying game together and its very charming and funny and makes sense.  Currently they’re in their second campaign of sorts with a Monster of the Week format.  This week was an Interlude where there’s a very important discussion on onion soup that I relate to.
And that’s what I enjoyed this week...last week I guess.  I’ll try posting these on the end of Saturdays from now on I think.  Let me know what you guys enjoyed this week!

Kinda Superhero Not Really Though
OKAY I’VE HAD THIS IN MY HEAD FOR LIKE TWO MONTHS SO NOW IMMA PUT IT TO PAPER (not really but you understand)
okay
so you fangirl fucks know that cliche where one of the people are like ‘monsters arent real you fucknugget’ and the other says ‘because they only come out at night idiot’
i think thats a thing
but if it not, let’s just pretend it is now
WELL
what if that was kinda true????? but not really
ill explain
You know how like Superman and Batman and shit have costumes when they go out and fight crime? and how they should probably only fight at nighttime unless they wanna lose their jobs because they keep on leaving at inconvenient times? (except batman since he owns everything but shhhhh)
welll
what if, when someone went to use their powers like levitation or some shit, they look like a monster
like, they start glowing like a demon or some shit
just absolutely terrifying
like they’re keith kogane and part galra, and where he gets near i think quintescense???? he goes purple (or what my friend says), when these bitches use their powers they appear to be satan himself
(dont kill me keith lovers alright i’m not obsessed i just watch it casually please no hate)
sO
when they wanna start being superheroes and shit they look like actual demons, and everyone’s like hoLY FUCK SATAN IS REAL AND HE IS TAKING THIS ROBBER FROM MY HOME TO PRISON WAit what why is he a decent human
and like, depending on how strong they use it is how mutated they appear to be. Like Spiderman using his power to grab a soda would only make his hand start to appear to be drenched in darkness, yet when he goes full-on swinging-from-building-to-building-spidysense-shit  he looks like god said ‘fuck it’ on sims and made the worst thing possible
so no normal person knows what the fuck is happening, some 7 Days shit maybe
But one of them are just sitting there, looking like some bad demon guy, walks up to an old lady (who’s probably shitting herself) and is just like “Hey, ma’am, you dropped fifty dollars. Also, a bomb’s about to go off so I suggest you drop”
And when bad guys start showing up, they cant tell if theyre bad or good because everyone looks terrifying
I think its cool, but meh
I may write the fanfiction so look out
