you know, if we're going to go after all flavors of fucked-up terumob for supposedly not being a tenable premise, or somehow 'missing the point'? one can easily argue the same for fluffy terumob.
given all the in-canon trauma standing between these boys, terumob as a concept is on some shaky-ass legs: teruki is projecting a fuckton of worship unhealthy idealism onto shigeo, and shigeo has every right to be wary of/angry about teruki's attempt to end him, for as long as it takes him.
they're still on family name terms at the end of the story, and teruki is still trying to get shigeo to spend more time with him. ONE leaves us with a long shot at anything between these two beyond casual friendship. (unless teruki is more forthright about what he wants? or shigeo realizes he can reciprocate?)
and the pair both have so much healing to do from the pain they've caused each other. whether they do so together or apart, it's gonna look ugly, perhaps for years.
i actually want to see that, too.
there's nothing wrong with sweet, tender wish fulfillment. there's also nothing wrong with examining how trauma can realistically play out in courtship or dating. and teenagers are not immune to toxic dynamics in relationships! if you truly believe this, i have a bridge i wanna sell you.
fluff does not mirror my experience of childhood in the slightest, but i'm not gonna shake my fists at its creators, and i'm not salty that it exists. it's beautiful. guess what? so is mogamiland terumob. so is codependent terumob. shame on all of you who felt it was OK to harass anyone for them.
people create AUs and draw and write for fun, and not everyone finds comfort or enjoyment in the same things. there should be room here for a wider range of emotional expressions. i mean, there sure is in the source material.
and there is already so much candy-coated marshmallow fluff in the #terumob tag. so much. i don't know about y'all, but i was happy to see some variety for once.

PAC: What Do People Find Pretty About you?
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
I'm backk (oh and happy new year, people)
Pile 1:
The reading starts with the message- "marching to the beat of your drum," so I'm guessing you love to do your own thing? This quality/essence of yours is exactly what people find pretty about you. You EXUDE this airy-fairy kinda ethereal energy, laced with an almost Aquarian and Gemini-like quality. You have your own blueprint, set of beliefs, and ideas that you LIVE by, and your beauty is inspired by your individuality.
For example, say you grew up in a culture where most people are fair-skinned, but you have darker skin. You absolutely love and adore your skin for what it is, and because you embrace it, others love it by extension. Whatever stands out about you in the society you live in right now is what people find pretty about you. Say you have long hair when the norm is short hair—well, that's what people find pretty about you. They find your unique features breathtaking. It’s otherworldly.
You know, you give me Maeve Wiley vibes from Sex Education. She had her own style going on, and didn’t we absolutely love her for it? Her edgy vibe contrasted against the more simplistic vibe of the rest of the town. Yeah, there’s something about that which STANDS OUT and beckons for people’s attention (even if you’re not out here actively seeking attention). And boy, is it refreshing AF. You don’t know just how much you bring to the table by being yourself 😊.
You may like to dress "intelligently," or your natural style simply makes you look really smart, and this adds to that Aqua/Gemini quality that others find so pretty about you. Maybe you’re into graphic tees? Or your clothing simply makes people think, you know? Your style is different, and gosh, it’s so, soooo pretty (I really hope you understand that by the end of this read, haha).
You seem to take on a more carefree and blasé approach to your physical appearance, and it’s MAGNETIZING.
Side note: I don’t think you realize the effect you have on people, lmao. It’s so funny because that’s such an Aqua quality, hahaha.
Moving on—it seems like you’ve never let go of your connection to your inner child, and this keeps you fun, joyous, and energetic. This is something people instantly notice about you, and they LOVE IT SO MUCH. You brighten people’s days with your little giggles, pranks, and jokes (even if they’re dark).
Again, there’s something deeply unconventional about you that’s soooo pretty. Like, it’s almost as if you are your own beauty standard, you know? Haha, you’re a trendsetter, aren’t you? It’s reminding me of Rihanna’s energy—how different she looks from Western beauty standards, but boy, does she make WAVES with her presence alone.
What’s pretty about you transcends the material realm. It’s your faith in the divine shining through your eyes when you walk past a stranger on the street, or the endless energy you contain because you’re so connected to source (or whatever “god” you believe in). This openness to anything or anyone that comes your way is what makes you OH so pretty ✨️.
Thanks for reading, sweet Pile 1! Have a good rest of your day/night 😊
If you'd like to further receive customized messages about what people find pretty about you, you can book a reading with me! You can find the details here :]
Pile 2:
Your spirit message to open your reading said- “CUTE AF.” Haha, people seem to find you cute AF, Pile 2! That’s what makes you pretty. You may be the type of person who has the perfect ratio of cute and pretty, like Lisa or Rosé from Blackpink. You have a certain charm about you that people can’t seem to shake off, and boy, it sticks for a while. You’re unforgettable.
You’re incredibly physically attractive too (you might be very aware of this 😏), and boy, need I say more?
Side note: People find your chest area, boobies, and décolletage really freaking pretty 😍.
You have a side to you that you NEVER show people—your softer, mushy, gushy, sensitive, unconditional-love side (for obvious reasons, hello?). And people seem to sense that you’re hiding SOMETHING. Usually, they can’t guess what it is, and they find this super mysterious, enchanting, and ALLURING. They want to know this other side of you. They want to bring it out (and by "they," I mean anyone interested in getting to know you deeper). This makes you irresistibly pretty, Pile 2.
I see that you’re an incredibly humble person, and this only adds to the magnitude of PRETTINESS I already told you about! Sheesh. Could you be any more charming and awesome?
Side note: People really appreciate the random acts of kindness you bestow on them when no one’s looking. If you have a habit of smiling at people (no matter who they are), this is perceived as reeeeeeally pretty 👀. (Also, it makes you all the more lovable?!)
You seem interested in bringing as much kindness as you humanly can into an inherently unkind world, and this honestly takes your physical beauty to another level! Your heart is so generous and pure, kind of like Leo or Cancer energy. You don’t stand for injustice, and you MAKE IT KNOWN (quietly or not 💅🏾). It’s almost as if you have the ability to love people’s hearts back to life again if they’ve been through injustice, which is honestly so precious. You’re a national treasure, Pile 2!
What’s beautiful and pretty about you is how you naturally allow people to feel safely vulnerable around you. You seem like someone who can listen to people’s woes and almost make them disappear 😶‍🌫️. Haha, I love that.
People can slow down around you (because of your energy, bruh) and let down their guard, even if it’s only for a moment. It’s a beautiful gift you have. I’m happy you exist. BIG HUGS, Pile 2!
I love you so much, and have a wonderful day/night!
If you'd like to further receive customized messages about what people find pretty about you, you can book a reading with me! You can find the details here :]
Pile 3:
Message to open your reading- "You GIVE Sabrina Carpenter vibes." "You serve MOTHER vibes." Lol, a lot of people seem to thirst after your maternal vibe, Pile 3. You’re out here taking care of people, huh? Let’s get into it—
What people find pretty about you is your cozy, emotionally healthy, and prosperous energy. It’s almost like people feel “taken under your wing,” as if an angel is taking them in to help heal and rejuvenate them. You have angel vibes, Pile 3, and that’s what’s PRETTY about you.
You might have really pretty (and really watery?) eyes with big natural lashes, and they look very glossy and big—lowkey like anime eyes 👀. Tehe ✨️. Love that!
You seem very protective of the people you love, and they really appreciate that about you. That’s what makes you so pretty. Maybe when you defend someone close to you who’s been wronged—say you’re arguing with the offender—you might come off really attractive to people. The passion with which you protect is SEXY, baby. Keep 👏🏾 it 👏🏾 up 👏🏾.
You’re like this stable figure in your life to a lot of people. So many of them lean on you for support and come to you with their problems, and you happily help them.
Side note: I hear this incredibly helpful and giving nature of yours is going to bring A LOT of abundance into your life, so keep an eye out for it, hehe.
Also, a slightly off-topic message keeps coming in STRONG—there’s a specific person (romantic) who wants to dedicate a song to you. It’s called “Made For Me” by Muni Long. Maybe it’s how they’re feeling about you right now? Take this only if it resonates :)
Moving on with your reading now, you seem to be a guiding light in people’s lives, kind of like a lighthouse for lost boats, so to speak. Your beauty follows closely with this wisdom of yours, and that’s what people find pretty about you. You wear your wisdom like a warrior wears armor, and gosh, that’s very beautiful, almost in an enchanting way.
You have seer energy about you, and maybe it reflects in how you present yourself? Maybe you seem very calm and grounded? Maybe you have great hygiene or look really put together? If so, this is really pretty, Pile 3 :).
It’s like your energy is medicine to people who are naturally anxious. You allow them to seek respite from their own minds, and boy, does that make you so PRETTTTTAYYYYYY, ugh.
Thanks for reading, my sweet Pile 3. Have yourself a wonderful day/night, and keep being the stable, sexy baddie that you are, hehe 😊🫂. Love you! <3

being a little puritan and shaming shit on the HANNIBAL fandom is quite the audacity, I gotta say. I mean the goddamn source material is dark af. There's incest there. There's fucking murder, cannibalism, but GOD FORBID fans explore that as well—oh go fuck yourself, sincerely

Pulled together more of my rambling train station of thoughts RE: the THT/Nick matter (as so many of us are still trying to do in order to make sense of the trainwreck that THT ended up being in the end🥂)
You know, I want to start by saying...I've DEEPLY disliked characters before, but never once have I felt compelled to track down their fans just to preach about how morally superior I am for misreading the plight or arc of those said fictional characters. That kind of self-important grandstanding (usually built on vibes and not receipts - imo) just screams "projection."
And that crash landing ending? (lol didn't intend the pun but certainly keeping it) - that wasn't nuanced critique or character work; it was a loud, lazy display of “performative political solidarity” that read well to people who didn't/don't/won't engage with the work beyond a superficial "what happens next week" basis.
Meanwhile, detail-obsessed fans were left blinking in confusion while watching Nick Blaine, a canonically subversive character, get rewritten into a narrative scapegoat. And this all coming from the Hollywood bubble, wrapped either in moral absolutism or in Dianetics/LRH’s bottled sweat/imaginary alien overlords (I mean…I guess ¿porque no los dos?).
But none of it touched the reality of how real-world resistance actually works.. successful resistance efforts rarely include heroic bull-in-a-china-shop suspend-your-belief-in-logic singular action moments. Success is yielded from teamwork, working together in perhaps a few big ways but many more small ways towards reaching the common goal of true equality. This last season also did no favors as it pertains to increasing the awareness about current human rights atrocities nor in increasing the awareness about the slippery slope that the US was beginning to find itself in even at the time that Season 6 began filming (FDT hadn't "won" yet but the writing was clearly on the wall.)
All it was was glass mansions. With a megaphone. Expecting applause.
(And btw, record yourselves applauding please!)
The accusation that us as fans “just didn’t understand” is exquisitely rich, because it became painfully obvious once the existing source material ran out around the end of Season 2, that the creatives themselves didn't even understand the show they were making.
Season 3 was my early warning sound off (wish I’d trusted it), and by the start of Season 5, it was crystal clear- this team was wildly underqualified to develop an original narrative that could even begin to touch what Atwood set them up with.
I voluntarily relinquished my "loyal-AF-viewer-tuning-in-right-at-11pm-cst-on-Monday-night" membership card around the start of Season 5, Episode 1- as Game of Thrones had given me trust issues..and I didn't even care half as much about those characters as I did for most of the characters in the HMT.
Something inside me felt really ick about the wedding ring reveal of Season 4, without a character to even go along with the ring.. it was haphazard and the explanations for it made no sense. I hate to say my instincts were right to begin pulling away immediately... but of course I always held out hope that someone competent would find a way to land the thing, and I figured I'd just go back and catch up once it was all over.
But I digress...
When you have even the actors (hey Max Minghella) side-eying their characters' choices and wondering if there perhaps were darker sides to them that over a span of six seasons/8-9 years, that they were never told about..or in retrospect now perhaps feel a little insecure about, like they magically should've diduced that darkness from nothingness..?
Well, in that case, we're no longer talking about art, and instead discussing the glaring slow-mo narrative malpractice that's been taking place since Season 3.
This series ending/"landing" really could have been their (writers/showrunners) big shot at successful critical longevity. Instead, they turned an open-book test into a public implosion. The bones of Atwood’s world were right there, mapped out and ready, but instead of following them, the writers/showrunners/actors-turned-directors misunderstood and eventually betrayed them.
Honestly, in retrospect, The Testaments feels like a deliberate course correction. A softspoken “no, actually” from Atwood herself, reaffirming where the moral core of this story lies. And yes, that includes Nick. The show had the source material in addition to the reinforced narrative/additional insights provided by Atwood in The Testaments (released in September 2019, shortly after the television adaptation began airing its third season.)
And when the backlash from the final season hit shortly after the "betrayal," they deflected by calling loyal fans/viewers love-blind, shallow, or naive (especially women) for caring about a character who dared to represent subtle resistance (apparently you need to be on-the-nose and in-your-face defiantly obvious about your intentions or you too could be called a Nazi twice in the last season of a show based on a literary narrative that you've been a character/major part of in since the 1980s).
In their defense, they love to mention OC characters like Lawrence as if he's the beacon of proof of their creative genius, but here's the truth- Lawrence worked exceedingly well in spite of the writing, not because of it. That was thanks to Bradley Whitford’s interpretation and creative latitude. Same with Nick.. except Minghella had far less input, because Nick was/IS Atwood’s creation. Ultimately, both characters (one canonical, one not) succeeded because the actors did the heavy lifting when the scripts couldn’t.
The writers should not misinterpret this as a flex, because it more appropriately should be ready as a red flag warning at the beach, ultimately showing the dangers of what happens when performers understand the source material more deeply than the people that were paid to adapt it, and when writers confuse praise for their original characters as being praise for their writing vs it just being masterful performance by the actor themselves that makes the character work.
.. dangers such as, for instance, now you've got a nonsensical last season, and not to mention, a ticked off loyal fanbase, who started with the show back in 2017, absolutely refusing to even consider watching TT.
They are so smart you guys, like you don't even know.
In the end, they confused moral ambiguity with moral incoherence, flattened complexity into cliché, and mistook erasure for subversion.
I'll end it here although I could keep going: Nick didn’t need a redemption arc, he already had one published in 1985, and then Atwood doubled down on it in her 2019 Handmaid's "sequel," The Testaments, but sadly, neither he (Nick) nor Minghella were backed by writers, showrunners, or actors-turned-directors brave enough to commit to it.

AMC, is this Talamas.ca website CANON?
Imma just assume everything on this site is legit, cuz it's more fun that way, duh. 😅
Tumblr media
"de Lioncourt de Pointe Du Lac," IS THIS CANON, AMC? 👀 Did that Black girl LEGALLY walk around in Jim Crow NOLA with TWO DIFFERENT MEN WITH TWO DIFFERENT LAST NAMES' & TWO DIFFERENT RACES' surnames? Explain!!!!
Ok, confirmation that Sept 21st really is Claudia's birthday. So it's NOT the date that she was Turned? (I assumed she was Turned sometime between Sept 1st - Nov 12th.)
Tumblr media
Uh, NO ONE in either season has ever referred to Lestat as "the Brat Prince." Yes, Louis said in 1x6 that Lestat was a brat (derogatory) for not killing Antoinette, but he didn't call him a prince. So where is the Talamasca getting this information from? Is this something DANIEL calls Lestat in the actual book/tour?
I like that the Talamasca is letting it be known that the Cloud Gift is NOT a "baseline vampiric power." This is NOT something the average vamps can do by default. The Cloud Gift is the mark of an exceptionally strong vampire, and it's a BIG deal that Lestat can do it pre-QotD, cuz it implies that he drank A LOT of Akasha's blood the very first time in the 1700s, unlike book!Lestat. Which means Les is MUCH more powerful than he was in the books. And also means the Ep5 fight was NOT EVEN.
Lestat is "KNOWN" to Turn humans against their will--wuuut? 🫖👀 Wait--how are they gonna spin Lestat turning Nicki then? 👀 Cuz the argument can 100% be made that neither Nicki nor Louis were in the right or healthy mental/psychological state to properly CONSENT to become vampires, esp. since Nicki was actively losing his mind and Louis was roaring drunk & suicidal. And ofc Claudia said during the Trial how "that f****r didn't ask, gave me no say!," directly paralleling Lestat with Magnus. But is David Talbot actually gonna be a thing?! 😱😩 PLEASE say it ain't so, AMC, I can only take so many racist old white men on the same show, and that slot's already been filled, thank you very much!
Previous lovers are indeed Lestat's weak spot--and Rhoshamandes exploited TF outta that factoid in the PL Trilogy; GOD I hope AMC gets that far with the books!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Why bother greying out Louis' profile and put it all the way at the end of the list? (Thank you @crazykuroneko for the unblurred image!)
Ok, confirmation that Louis' birthday really is 1877, and that the 1878 & 1879 dates in the other episodes were dead wrong.
Claudia called Louis the "BLACK Angel," not the "Dark Angel" wtf
It's not human "emotion" that makes Louis empathetic, it's about humane treatment & giving people the DIGNITY & RESPECT that HE was never given as a Black man in racist AF America. He hates the "extravagant/sadistic" killing of Lestat & the "cruel, barely motivated violence" of the Theatre coven. It has nothing to do with human "EMOTION;" he just tries to prove that just cuz vampires are monsters doesn't mean they have to behave monstrously--Jacob said Louis tries to be "elegant" and rise above his biology, even when he too wants nothing more than to swim in blood. Who TF made this website? This can't be canon. 🤦
Tumblr media
"PRESUMED deceased." 👀 Jfc are they bringing him back for S3?
The shapeshifting & dematerialization etc only counts while Lasher was a GHOST--that isn't a natural Taltos ability though. Their records should've specified that--I HATE that Esta didn't stick to the source material, where the book was VERY explicitly a GHOST story about a haunted house/family of witches.
The Talamasca should know what Taltos abilities actually are now, since they now have all of Cip's biological GRANDCHILDREN (Lasher's kids).
And I guess this also confirms that The Talamasca DON'T have Emaleth in custody, which means she really is missing. 👀
Tumblr media
Yawn, as usual.
TL;DR: I hope this website isn't canon, and if it is, I hope they edit/update it with more accurate/precise information. Cuz this ain't it, chief. For a Talamasca database/bestiary website, I'd hope/expect them to be on their A-Game, esp. since they know what a "rabid/unwell" fanbase they have, and that book readers are also watching what they do with the lore.

Finally got around to watching this and ya know after seeing this film I can CONFIDENTLY say, yeah this movie definitely deserves a sequel more than anything because omg this movie was SO GOOD, like i don't what the hell Hasbro was thinking with the marketing when it comes to this movie but Omg it definitely wasn't what I was expecting, because OMG not only is this movie good but it's also Dark AF, and I'm so glad that it's like that because we haven't had something like that in a LONG time when it comes down to animation films or tv shows, (unless it's something like anime or whatever) like you can tell this was made by actual people who respect the source material and are TRUE Transformer fans, from the writing, to the fights, to even the effing character designs, like this movie just feels like it was made with love and passion the entire time. I'm begiging y'all if you haven't seen it yet PLEASE go do so, because you won't regret it ^^ man I really hope this gets a sequel because it deserves it wholeheartedly, damn why did I wait so long to watch this 😖

-🤔
[Warning: This is stupid long. Yikes.]
2. Character’s POV being explored:
Oops. My Incorrect Quotes don’t really have a POV. 😅 I think at most, I’ve explicitly removed a character from the end of a couple, to emphasize the joke through only the remaining character’s dialogue.
3. Feelings about current WIP:
I’m not happy with the end, so it might just sit there for a few more days until I figure it out.
4. Unwritten story idea:
I have a very rough outline of an actual fic! Future Wenclair, post college. It’s… super dark. Just a torrid angst spiral from Enid’s POV, where she begins to unwittingly choose her work and social life over her wolf and Wednesday, with terrible consequences.
I put it together last year, before I actually started writing anything. It’s unlikely to see the light of day, because I honestly don’t have the energy, attention span, and sequential periods of uninterrupted free time to try writing anything in long format. 😢 Maybe someday!
7. Preferred writing font:
Something san serif. I’d prefer one with a bit more letter spacing, but I’m stuck with Tumblr’s default font, Favorit-Tumblr.
8. If I had to sequel one:
Probably this old one, about Wednesday and her pet blog. I have ideas about reblogs and blog reproductive cycles.
9. Elapsed time for the last one:
Today’s took maybe 10-15 minutes from start to posting. I needed something short since I wanted to do my daily post before answering this Ask. My notes only read “Hard to swallow” and it basically wrote itself. It took just as long to find the right animated gif as it did to write it out. 😅
10. Longest rest for a draft before completion:
Intentional rest? I guess this one at 5-ish days, where the gang takes turns answering the question: What’s the best thing about dead bodies? I just wasn’t feeling the gang’s banter, so put off fiddling with it until it felt interesting again.
There’s normally scant delay between writing and posting. If I’m lucky, I might have 1 or 2 completed IQs waiting to be posted. I try to post at least 2 per day and I’m terrible at not posting one the moment it’s completed, so… yup. 😒
14. Inspiration source:
Primarily the fandom! I wouldn’t be able to write these if I hadn’t first read so many Wenclair fics that parodying the characters became possible. I really do rely on the community-created tropes and personalities to act as the skeleton upon which meaty puns are anchored.
16. Favorite place to write:
In my home office during work hours, where I can go mostly undisturbed, have a super comfy Steelcase Leap to relax in, music, and a tablet at the ready.
Yes, work hours. I tend to do my job quickly and well, but nothing gets those creative juices going better than having something else you should be doing. 😅
17. Writing and editing process:
Idea? Jot it down. Keep a list. Time to write? Check ideas. Pick one that looks fun. Write it. Nothing interesting? Uh. Do one of the following:
Look through animated gifs of dogs doing derpy things for wolf Enid (tedious AF)
Search idioms based on words that Wednesday can take too literally
Wonder what would piss off Bianca > Yoko > Weems > other character (ordered by favorite)
Think up a bad joke for Enid to tell Wednesday so she gets mortifyingly aroused
Find slang for Wednesday to misinterpret
If all else fails, dive into that gutter humor 😬
Etc?
With an idea in hand, I just start writing it out straight in the Tumblr app. Totally rawwolfing it. When it’s done, I review and check for (and fail to find) errors. Sometimes I’ll run it by my SO, who isn’t a Wenclair fan, but can confirm if a joke makes sense.
After that, I tag and release the thing into the wild, so it may derp free of my fragile little skull.
19. Most interesting fic-related research topic:
The historical material composition of hanging nooses and the strength differences between traditional hemp and modern Manila hemp, which is actually made from a specific Filipino banana tree as opposed to Cannabis plants.
All that for a joke about thread count. 😗
22. Worries about public reaction and how to get past it:
It hasn’t really come up. Honestly, I’m just happy that people read my stuff and can enjoy a laugh. It helps that I haven’t received much criticism, but I’ve also worked for years in a graphic design-related field that forced me to be able to produce (often dumb) fruit even when in an inhospitable environment near barren of sincere appreciation and/or constructive criticism. 😬 Kinda like a creative extremophile.
For advice to get past it? Keep at it. Find your audience(s) if you care to and focus on them. Keep in mind what you enjoy about the hobby and nurture that sucker. Learning how to shrug off negativity takes experience, but when in doubt, take a break! It’s a hobby, and even if it may at times feel otherwise, remember that it does not define you.
24. Recharge method when not creative:
Reading Wenclair fics and listening to audiobooks. I always have a book queued up and jump between fantasy, urban fantasy, lit rpg, cozy fantasy, sci-fi, bio-terrorism thrillers, queer romance, queer horror, and queer coming-of-age. 😅
25. Hobbies other than writing:
Drawing and semi-regular D&D. There’s other stuff I haven’t had time to enjoy lately, like computer games, clay sculpting, mask making, dancing, juggling, fire spinning, etc.
26. Writing around others:
I am always around others outside of work, so I make do. It’s usually fine, unless said others are those who are prone to toddling. Trying to write around one of them is often a lost cause. 😭
28. Least favorite part of the writing process:
For me, it’s transcribing posts from Tumblr to AO3. Particularly posts with a lot of styling, like small text and Chat. Not everything copy/pastes 1-to-1 and some chapters have to be manually edited as html, which is stupendously tedious doing on the phone. And if it has an image? Uuughghghh. 😖
OMG I’m done! I’m free! FREE! FR—

Is Jean canonically hot? He just won a Latam poll for the hottest AFTG character and I’m surprised! But he is tall af, dark and brooding and has a crooked nose (hot!)
if you ask Kevin, the answer’s no 😔
but more seriously, it’s hard to tell a little from source material because we’ve got:
Neil’s pov (who obviously isn’t going to comment on whether Jean is hot bc Jean isn’t Andrew)
Jean’s pov (who luckily doesn’t comment on his own hotness like a wattpad fanfic, thank you for this nora)
and Jeremy’s pov (who obviously finds Jean very hot but Jean is his self-described type)
however, im gonna go ahead and say yes Jean is canonically hot because of all the comments we get from Jeremy like these:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
and also bc Cat notices too:
Tumblr media
and just categorically, like you said, Jean is 6’4” (?), well-built/an athlete, dark-haired, and mysterious with a French accent. he’s got a lot going for him in that respect lol

First of all, the reason it took me so long to put this out was bc I was trying to find good shots of their outfits and I simply couldn't except for Remus. Theoretically they all wear pants. I swear we've gotten good shots of them, I just can't find them anywhere so if anyone wants to help a guy out and send some my way, thanks in advance.
Tumblr media
Look, is Logan hot? Yes. But it’s not because of the outfit. It’s because of the autism.
Just put him in a whole ass button up and some slacks and nice shoes, keep the tie, he doesn’t need a full suit, but if he’s trying to look professional, that’s literally what district managers and office workers wear, it would do. Now, if he did some character development and wanted to express his interests via clothing, we could throw in a lab coat or maybe a heavy duty apron. If he wanted to be more casual, you know he’s wearing a NASA bomber and star patterned converse but he also definitely put the stars and such on there himself. Space nerd has to have a favorite galaxy he could map out.
Tumblr media
He’s not giving enough. He could be giving so much more. He’s Creativity and he is extra as hell, you’re telling me he couldn’t be MORE extravagant? Where are the furs? The cape? The crown? The DRAMA??? He’s playing a prince, but a prince can wear eyeliner. Where is it? Give him some gold highlighter, I want to be able to see him from the moon. A prince has got to slay, but what is he slaying? My spirits? With his current outfit, certainly. I’m mad because he can do better. He’s so boring to look at. Maybe it’s because he’s not just a prince, he’s specifically a Disney prince, but just because we’re pulling from a source material doesn’t mean we can’t spice it up, ok? Adaptation is allowed and encouraged to make improvements. But I’m also not really a Disney fan. You didn’t come here for unbiased facts anyway, you came her for my bad opinions.
Tumblr media
I don’t think you can get any more Catholic guilt than that look so potential is met. Unfortunately the only thing he’s serving is church dad who cries himself to sleep next to his wife that he never has sex with because he’s gay but scared to admit it. She loves him but knows there’s something missing and resents him for it. They still have two and a half kids as is standard. Their picket fence is white. He’s living in suburban purgatory. He projects a little too much onto his dog. This is what he’s serving. I’m not eating it. Um, personality, yeah the fit pretty much sums him up. I hope at some point it doesn’t. I hope he gets better. Someone help him.
I know he’s on the cusp of proper development so he might get a new fit soon? Or not idk. I hope if he does it’s froggy. Give him one of those frog rain hats that would be cute af. He just wants to be silly, let him be silly, please for the love of everything, someone let him be silly.
Tumblr media
I think we could have went harder into a subculture. Emo/punk and he doesn’t even paint his nails or wear a choker. What a fucking poser. The patches on the sweatshirt and holes in his T are good, though. He could also probably do with piercings and more make up. I do love that as a collective the fandom decided to have him keep the purple hair bc that really did him some good. I understand it's annoying to put chalk or wax in your hair every time to play him, but it would get him another point in the potential category. I just want him to look cool.
Tumblr media
Serving- Dark sides know how to serve a look. If you’re going to be morally neutral/grey you have to make up for it by being hot. They don’t make the rules but the rules were definitely made for them.
Personality- I know exactly who he is by looking at him: A fucking dork. I love my dork ass wife.
Potential- There’s always room for improvement. Namely a yellow ribbon strip on the hat. I know in my heart of hearts that it’s there, but my eyes betray me.
Tumblr media
idek if I’d say the cape is an improvement, I think they were right not to include it because it doesn’t really add anything to the way he’s been portrayed. Though I would love to see an occasion where he can play around with the cape because I love capes. I just feel like a variation of landsknecht would have served him well. Maybe paned slops. Pumpkin breeches. Do you see the vision? He just needs some slutty little booty shorts to amp up the bottom energy, and he already has the sleeve design to go with it.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Look, he’s not even my boy, but I’m going to defend Patton on this one. What else could we possibly do here? (I’m serious, please tell me, I want to hear about your Patton designs.) He’s just you’re emotionally repressed dad! Not MY emotionally repressed dad, for certain, mine wears Hawaiian shirts, Bermuda shorts, and crocs, but SOMEBODY’s emotionally repressed church dad. Probably. Maybe.
He’s not SUPPOSED to be all ‘it’s called fashion, sweaty’ because he’s just a guy! A very normal, boring guy! That’s part of his whole thing! He’s church dad! And his outfit shows it! Anyway, sorry Patton. I didn’t mean to expose you to this kind of outfit negativity. (This portion is mostly a joke. Idc if you think his outfit sucks. It does, that just happens to be in character which makes it technically not suck in my opinion.)
Maybe now that Janus has his hands on him Patton's fashion sense will improve. Light sides just don't do it like the dark sides.

As I’m doing this ask, I’m just watching Jack the Giant Slayer and making me SEVERELY wanna read Beanstalked, I’d love a passion fueled essay/reason from you why I should read it! (I’m gonna ready it anyways)
OH BOY I GET TO DROP MY LIMITERS
Tumblr media
For starters, Beanstalked is a fantasy slice-of-life with a sprinkle of adventure and action. It does feature swearing, violence and gore as well as some body horror and existentialism. So just a heads up.
The main plot is basically that Lore, the planet that Beanstalked takes place on which exists directly parallel to Earth, has an event every 100 years where individuals are selected to become Bookmarked. This is where they are assigned roles from fables and legends from our world and gain secret weapons known as Märchen for self defense. This event has gone on practically forever under the watchful eyes of the Sun and Moon, the gods of this world.
But that all gets disrupted by an evil fairy called Nevermore who is bored of witnessing the same fairy tales happening over and over again. She has rounded up Bookmarked villains and the occasional misled protagonist to assist her and her army of ink stains as she aims to rewrite the world and rid it of happy endings.
The newest generation of Bookmarked are very unlucky as it is their turns to live out their assigned tales due to their stories all having been screwed up due to Nevermore's interference. Jack is one of these unlucky Bookmarked, who has just recently come to learn he has been assigned the same Jack from Jack and the Beanstalk. Much of Beanstalked follows hm as he learns about the magical side of the world he lives in, how to use his own Märchen, his own family history, and what exactly a "Happy Ending" is.
Beanstalked is meant to somewhat explore fairy tales and how suddenly becoming a figure in one can affect one's life-whether it be good or bad. It's also, at its center, a story about learning more about one's self and figuring out what truly makes you happy.
If you are a fan of fairy tale retellings then Beanstalked is a good pick for you. Especially if you are a fan of retellings that:
Aren't just mean spirited spins about the original tale
Aren't completely dark and gritty retellings of the source material for the sake of being edgy
Aren't just rip offs of Disney designs and characters
Or if you are petty like me, don't want to read another story about a protagonist having fallen into the land of fairy tales
Every Beanstalked character is meant to be based off either a direct character from a fable or a stock character. And for each fable, I try to bounce off the original story if there is an author (Like Pinocchio novel) or the oldest retellings as many fables don't have direct authors and simply have collectors that put their own spin on things.
So if you are worried about another fairy tale retelling story where each fable is just based off Disney's spins-DON'T WORRY BECAUSE ROCKY GOT YA' COVERED!
Beanstalked also contains a lot of found family elements, such as the entire village of Briar Patch being a community of Bookmarked who watch out for one another.
There are also cool af battle scenes due to the existence of Märchen (because Rocky grew up watching too many shounen anime and now has to put battles in everything), a ton of world building (I've had this story for nearly a decade now), a lotta characters with melanin (many being black), and a cast comprised of bi and pan characters.
ALSO ALSO...if you are a fan of pretty black girl love interests that kick ass (and may also be a monster girl with sharp teeth and claws and whole big monster form) then you will enjoy Beanstalked as Jack's love interest, Nana, is all of said above mentioned things.
SO if any of this happened to catch your attention-GO READ BEANSTALKED! As of right now I've rebooted it from the original 2010s version I had so it currently only has chapters 1 and 2. Which means you don't have a lotta catch up to do!
I have also handcuffed myself to this story which means I will be working on it till I finish it. I am on a mission. So if you want a webcomic and don't wanna worry about it suddenly being cancelled or disappearing one day-DO NOT CONCERN YOURSELF CITIZEN as I am unhinged about my fairy tale babies and am in for the long haul.

I feel like a lot of complaints about Return to Oz that it is too weird and too creepy just lack a general understanding of the true source material and only know Oz from the Judy Garland film
The original books were creepy and weird, to put it simply
Like, Tik Tok's backstory is so fucking watered down in the movie. In the book, he was bought by an abusive king who literally abused his servants until they died bc TikTok could never be killed bc he was never alive to begin with
"It is a long sto-ry," replied the copper man; "but I will tell it to you brief-ly. I was pur-chased from Smith & Tin-ker, my man-u-fac-tur-ers, by a cru-el King of Ev, named Ev-ol-do, who used to beat all his serv-ants un-til they died. How-ev-er, he was not a-ble to kill me, be-cause I was not a-live, and one must first live in or-der to die. So that all his beat-ing did me no harm, and mere-ly kept my cop-per bod-y well pol-ished. "This cru-el king had a love-ly wife and ten beau-ti-ful chil-dren--five boys and five girls--but in a fit of an-ger he sold them all to the Nome King, who by means of his mag-ic arts changed them all in-to oth-er forms and put them in his un-der-ground pal-ace to or-na-ment the rooms. "Af-ter-ward the King of Ev re-gret-ted his wick-ed ac-tion, and tried to get his wife and chil-dren a-way from the Nome King, but with-out a-vail. So, in de-spair, he locked me up in this rock, threw the key in-to the o-cean, and then jumped in af-ter it and was drowned."
-Ozma of Oz by L Frank Baum chapter 4
The second book in the series is about a little boy who is abused by an evil witch (though not really a witch bc technically holding that title is illegal) and runs away because she is feeding him a potion to turn him into a marble statue
There is also the classic: the emerald city is not really emerald in the books, simply shiny, and all of the citizens and visitors to the Emerald City are made to wear emerald colored glasses to make it appear as if it is really made of emeralds. Like the wizard, it is all a facade
Like, the books aren't the darkest things ever, but if you are complaining about the darkness of the film I'm gonna need you to read the source material and then come back to me and tell me if you think it's too scary

What do you think about the fect that you can romance Greek Gods in Stray Gods? Also the game has a DLC.
I don’t like that Persephone is one of the romancable options bc she killed Hades centuries prior. I don’t like how they made Hades (and Ares too) worse than he actually is in mythology then make Apollo and Pan romance options when they were rapists as well. I keep hearing ppl say they like that Stray Gods doesn’t shy away from the dark bits of mythology, but that’s not fucking true, they make Hades Persephone’s abuser then turn around and make Aphrodite and Hephaestus a tragic love story. They do not commit to the bit. Aphrodite and Hephaestus were abusive af to each other, Aphrodite was manipulative and a cheater, Hephaestus humiliated her by exposing her to the male gods to gawk at and then cursed her daughter.
If the mythology was all lies then what did Aphrodite mean by “the husband I abhorred” if she still hates him didn’t they divorce? Like ok if you’re going with versions were they stayed together, Aphrodite actually seduces and persuades Hephaestus to have her back, but I highly doubt this version of Aphrodite would do that, so why are they still together in the modern day? Did Zeus or Hera force them to? How would that benefit any of them? Did they not have the power to divorce? I doubt it bc even in ancient times divorce was possible and I don’t think the idols would forbid that.
It’s made worse by the fact they keep saying “the myths are all lies” bc that’s just the worst way to adapt mythology, you don’t adapt something then say the original source material means nothing and that you should forget about it then make stuff up.

i rarely post ooc on here but here's my long winded rambling about something that i keep seeing in regards to the show. like i've seen these different takes that somehow in the show mat's been given more layers and depth. but like i can't see where or how tbh all the show's given me so far is
his "gritty" backstory. supposedly to "explain" why he's the way he is. even though in the show he's not at all the way he is supposed to be ---
his disloyalty. abandoning his friends to possible death, abandoning egwene in the tower. they took one of his biggest driving points and just erased it entirely. this is not the mat that chased an assassin all the way to tear to save the wondergirls. this is not the mat that turned back towards a literal war when he had never fought in one before.
his innate darkness that drew him to the dagger. no mat couldn't just want gold, he couldn't even be greedy. he needs to have a darkness that made moiraine so sure he'd choose the dark. and apparently ishamael saying he belonged to him since birth ? like uhm did i hear that right?
these are literally the only traits he's been given. -- how does one do a more complex mat than the one robert jordan wrote anyways? he's confusing af - no one understands what's going on with him not even himself. like i always see sando getting flack about how he wrote mat. like he did better than anything the shows done so far tbh.
but this leads me to the whole 'the show did it better than the books' or that "the show fixed things" about every single little or major change that the show makes.  like prefer one over the other, love one hate the other. cool nbd. but -- i've never seen the source material of an adaptation so -- idk hated by the fandom? it confuses me how much flack robert jordan gets for writing a certain thing or a certain character but the show gets praised for a basically hollowed out poorly done adaptation. like i can enjoy the show, there are good things ( hello josha ) and there are bad ( the over the top age drops of the aes sedai. alanna's lowkey creepy with much young warders - they do know they don't get the same life span right? - and moiraine didn't give up her life for the search for the dragon. how long did she live before his birth ?? etc etc ). but i don't know how one could "understand" the characters or world better than the person that wrote it. i don't get how anyone could be interested in a world or characters from a book series that they seemingly hate ? by an author they basically hate, too? that's just my take i guess. i for one love the books. so ---
i'll go crawl back into my corner now ---

Satam is overrated AF. Prime is far superior to it.
Not to mention the art in satam is ugly AF . Sonic's and Tails character model was pretty ugly too.
All I said is that it's kind of dumb to use comparisons from the franchise that came long after SatAm was cancelled, and a game the average fan back then didn't play because it was on an expensive console add-on, for why Western fans who grew up in the 90s shouldn't think the show as a dark take on Sonic.
And I'm gonna have to disagree on Sonic Prime being the better show in general. I gave it a fair chance and came into it with an open mind. I was actually intrigued by the whole "Shatterverse" concept when the details of the show first leaked. But I unfortunately have many problems with it that keep me from fully enjoying it. I'm just gonna say that the show, in my opinion, feels aggressively mediocre, if that's the best way for me to put it. I feel like the characters are either just there or unlikable(especially Nine and Thorn Rose). Yet this show claims to take place in the main game canon, despite there being so many inconsistencies with Sonic's characterization alone(and do I have problems with how he's portrayed). At least SatAm, and by extension Archie, never claimed to be canon to the games at all. Prime, the cartoon that is supposed to take within it's source material, feels more "fan fiction" like, than the dark and gritty early 90s cartoon adaption.
I don't disagree with how Sonic was drawn in the Dic cartoons hasn't aged the best, especially when nobody could seem to be on the same page on how to draw his quills, which was not exclusive to SatAm. But, SatAm's overall art direction is something I would hardly call "ugly AF". Not when Sonic Underground and Sonic the Comic existed in the same decade. It just looks like another typical 90s furry cartoon. Prime's animation looks off-putting a lot of times, and it's just another reason why I would rather have something be animated low budget 2D instead. The character designs and models looking so close to their game counterparts only makes things stick out even more when you see something that just doesn't seem right with them.
As much as I have nostalgia for SatAm and it's characters, I do get annoyed with how fans act like as if it's the only adaption that was during that decade, or them immediately going, "OMG ARE THE FREEDOM FIGHTERS GONNA RETURN?!?!" whenever a new game is announced or piece of Sonic media is announced. But at the same time, I can't stand the whole "Acktually SatAM was never good!" purist garbage, without even trying to at least understand why the Western side of the fandom liked it so much back then. I've long had my fill of that fandom elitism crap from seeing it since the early 2000s.
I'm the kind of person who has watched things like, Felix the Cat: The Movie, more times than what should be considered normal or acceptable. So you're wasting your time when I'm someone who has not only seen the most bottom of the barrel stuff, but still finds value in even "bad" media.

Which Disney movie do you consider overrated? (Pixar counts)
Peter Pan from 1953. And I'm gonna choose violence here. Skip this post if this is your favourite film.
The most glaring problem with that film is of course the racist depiction of Native American tribes. Sadly, a film can be technically well made while also being racist, so it's not the racism part that makes me think that this film sucks from an entire film making standpoint.
It's the depiction of Hook, and to an extent, Peter Pan. In the original story, Peter Pan represents childhood, but also immaturity, while Hook represents adulthood and all the shit that follows it. While Hook is more of a villainous character, he's not the villain of the story, while Peter Pan is not the absolute hero protagonist and paragon of virtue of the story. He's also pretty fucked up. Pan and Hook are symbols, and of opposite sides to boot, and that's why they're antagonists in the story. Wendy is a character, learning about both and in the end pretty much choosing neither.
So Disney took that and turned it into a black-and-white hero vs villain story while forgetting that the original is about Wendy learning what growing up is all about.
Hook is turned into a caricature of a villain while also being mocked for having a very legitimate fear of an animal that wants to eat him. I don't know, maybe it's because I don't have childhood nostalgia for this film, I first watched it when I was like 14 and I was like dafuq did I just watch. Like I was legitimately cringing and feeling bad that Hook was being made fun of. Phobias and trauma-related fears are no laughing matter.
And look - I'm not saying you can't have a villain who is comical. Cruella de Vil from 101 Dalmatians, which came out a few years after Peter Pan, is also a comical villain... but she's not a ridicule. Roger may make a song mocking her, but it's more of a dark humor song going like "She's the devil and she will eat you alive O_O but not really" while Peter Pan went like "LOL Hook is afraid of an animal that ate his hand and now wants to eat the rest of him he's such a coward LOL!" And no, I don't think it's fair to see a man who's willing to kill children in cold blood and to try and bring him down by laughing at a very rational fear he has. If it was used as a weapon against him and taken seriously - like the Lost Boys or Pan calling upon the crocodile so that Hook will panic and they can escape - it would have been a cool, albeit a little dark (though not too dark for Disney, especially for that era) idea, though not uncalled for compared to what Hook does. But no they just lol about it. It's hideous.
And in general I find that version of Pan unlikable, super annoying and an immature brat - which is funny because that's what Pan is supposed to be in the original story! He's meant to present to Wendy the "bad" sides of staying a kid forever. But Disney just presents him as a hero who learns from his mistakes like NO BITCH the whole point is that Pan doesn't grow up! He doesn't grow more mature and he's NOWHERE near being a person to look up to.
I agree that it's an iconic film but when you actually tear it down it's insulting to people with phobias and/or traumas, poorly translated from the source material, shallow as fuck, and also racist. 0/10 probably the only good thing that came out of it was whatever money the mouse decided to give to Great Ormond Street Hospital for using the rights to Peter and Wendy. (If you don't know what that is, J. M. Barrie, the author of the book and original theater play, gave the rights to the aforementioned hospital so any production getting the rights to make any production of it would essentially pay the hospital, which is a cool af idea. I think that right-holding reached its end a couple years ago and lo and behold what did the mouse do? A live action Peter Pan film :)

IWTV S2 Ep2 Musings - Children of Satan/Darkness Timeline
I've already pointed out how Armand's lying/exaggerating about the CoD/S timeline in Paris--at least if we go by the source material.
"Our coven has been here since the reign of Charlemagne, but we only became a theater company after Danton was guillotined."
Tumblr media
Charlemagne ruled the Franks from 768 - 814 AD. Armand saying "our coven" was in Paris "since" Charlemagne's reign is...uhhh...interesting; cuz in the 8th - 9th centuries it was actually RHOSH's de Landen Coven that lived in France, NOT the CoS/D.
Tumblr media
Granted, the bulk of the members that made up Paris' CoS were indeed ABDUCTED / STOLEN from Rhosh's coven.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
In AMC's version of the coven, the only members the CoD/S that were OGs when Lestat showed up in the 1700s are Basilic, Celeste, & Gustave. (book!Estelle was an OG, but AMC instead makes her Celeste's fledgling, and not present in the 1700s flashbacks).
Tumblr media
None of these AMC vamps are members of Rhosh's de Landen coven (unless AMC grandfathers them all in to have been Turned before 1300 AD--which is impossible).
This is an important distinction to make VERY clear, cuz the whole point of book!Armand's appeal to Lestat & Louis was that Armand's OLD AF. He was Turned in 1497 (book) / 1508 (AMC). Armand didn't know ANY vampires still alive who were older than he was.
Tumblr media
Cuz that depressed Louis even more--Lou accepted Armand's word and gave up on hoping that there was anything better out there!
Tumblr media
And that's what made Lestat leave Armand & the Theatre, chasing rumors about Marius, cuz Lestat was desperate for answers & Les refused to accept Armand's word as the end all be all.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Also, unlike AMC!Lestat, book!Lestat didn't know who TF book!Celeste was, and book!Celeste didn't know about Rhosh's OGs either.
Tumblr media
So yeah, Armand saying "our coven" was in France since the 8th century is just not true. RHOSH's coven was there, yes; but the members of Rhosh's coven are NOT the same as the members in the Theatre des Vampires. Esp. not when Lestat arrived in the 1700s, and definitely not when Louis & Claudia arrived in 1945. At best, Armand's just showing off how old the CoS/D are in general. At worst, either he's lying, or AMC is up to something with Rhosh's coven (which I already suspect cuz the Magnus stuff isn't book accurate either).
As for the 2nd half of Armand's quote:
"We only became a theater company after Danton was guillotined."
This is book/show accurate.
Georges Jacques Danton was a leader in the French Revolution, guillotined in 1794.
Tumblr media
Lestat was Turned in 1794, and 1 year later he met Armand & the CoD, and then they made the Theatre in 1795.
AMC, I've got my eye on y'all! 🧐🔭
