hellaverse oc: floor
(pt. 2/??) — hello!! i'm going yap about my girlypop below.. here is a link to my previous yapping session abt her!! yipeee
Tumblr media Tumblr media
does she have powers??
Yeee!!! very poltergeist!! She can tamper with tech, be an unwanted virtual assistant, be annoying, etc.
She avoids cameras! Not fond with getting captured on camera, especially without her consent! Invisibility is her best friend.
Tumblr media
HUMAN VERSION!!!
Here is my girl pre-transition.. how she grows up so fast.... (cough she dies shortly after this since she is biologically 25 y/o.... rip....)
Tumblr media
BITS OF HER ANATOMY
I want her to have a floofy chest!! She is not too happy with getting stripped down but I had to do it for my sanity (I NEED TO VISUALIZE IT!! I NEED TO!!!! HHHHHH)
Tumblr media
RELATIONSHIP W/ SOME CANON CHARACTERS
Not looking very good imo!
Vox hates her ass 100%. Floor enjoys fucking up his business and sabotaging his profits. Fun rivalry! (Not so fun from Vox's side of things ig)
She is acquainted with the other Vees, considering how much she messes with the Samsung TV. Valentino and Velvette doesn't meet her with the same hostility as Vox. Instead, they see her as a potential cash cow for their respective business.
Angel Dust, Cherri Bomb = Buds when they cross paths. Lots of crude and brutal honesty thrown at each other.
Her bitchfest with Katie Killjoy? Something to do with transphobia and terrible first meetings, sparking an on-going bitchfest where they try to out-bitch each other. (Christ, that's a lot of bitches) Floor got her grudge.
SOMEHOW gets along with Alastor? They are civil, at least! Friends? Let's not assume things lmfaoo
Avoids Charlie Morningstar for numerous reasons. (Redemption, doesn't know how to deal with her naive optimism, Floor feels like a neanderthal being dragged out of her goon cave, etc.)
Aside from the ones mentioned above, she does feel at home with Succubi, clubbers and other industry workers. SO SHE ISN'T ENTIRELY HOPELESS WITH HER SOCIAL LIFE?? goodjob floor!!! 👏👏👏
THanks 4 reading my yapperonis

C'mon now, we don't HAVE to stick to one set genre. Music is about self expression!~ ...Though I wouldn't be against one-upping some competition.
Tumblr media
Yuu Shi is strutting on down to debut as a vocalist and backup dancer for GLOWCHAIN! With eccentric flare and powerful vocals, she's here to push the boundaries of EDM and pop to new heights. After all, if it isn't experimental, it isn't her.
Part 2
Ragu Music Week is a fanevent by @raguiras!!! :D
Set to home screen: Mic check, one two!~
Groovification: ???
Home transition 1: Day three of asking Allen to let me join Hazard, no such luck as of yet. Is this how Epel feels about Savanaclaw? Maybe a bribe would work...
Home transition 2: Ohh I just love this boa! It's so cute and fluffy! Come here and touch it, it's so soft that I could use it as a pillow.
Home transition 3: No need to worry much about your performances, hon, I'll make sure to outperform you regardless! You can take that as a promise and a threat.
Home transition/Groovification: ???
Tap home 1: You think I'm getting a bit competitive over this? Hmm, Maybe, maybe. Well, this is finally my chance to show off my prowess! I didn't go to performing arts school for nothing.
Tap home 2: I'm able to keep up with Vil fine enough, but after the chaos that was VDC, I'm beginning to feel bad for my other group members... but not bad enough! Let's go again!
Tap home 3: No, no, no- That's not it. Your movements aren't big enough! You need to gesture enough for the whole crowd to see. Remember, the people in the back row want a show too. You need to hold out your arms like so!
Tap home 4: As much as I enjoy an organized, set performance, I much prefer to go with the flow. I want to get the whole audience involved in ways you haven't seen before, you know? Make it feel more authentic? It'll leave a lasting impression of me in their minds!... Oh, and the rest of GLOWCHAIN, of course.
Tap home 5: Hahaha! What, am I towering over you in these heels? Should I kneel down, is that what you'd like? What? I'm just teasing!
Tap home/Groovification: ???
Home after login: As much as I love this outfit, I could do with a little less sparkle... When the stage lights hit me and the other members, I can't help but feel like a damn disco ball. What do you think?
Tumblr media
ALRIGHT RAMBLING TIME. Yuu shi is having a hard time abandoning her instruments for GLOWCHAIN. Therefore she takes every chance she can to be petty about it and be another headache for vil (sorry bbg). She is very jealous of Hazard/Riff due to this- but she's not letting that stop her from trying to outperform other groups or even vil himself.
Tumblr media
As for music- I did a lot of research into KPOP i never had before KJGDSBKGJSD and I think mamamoos vibe fits Yuu Shi very well!
also I listened to the inspiration playlist, saw lady gaga, and blacked out
Charli XCX fits her more experimental style too- its her way of pushing the boundaries of the genre
KIMPETRASKIMPETRASKIMPETRAS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
As for dancing- ive had Royal Family brain rot lately. THEY ARE SO TALENTED AAAAAAAAAAAAA. Theyre flowy, energetic, fast paced moves fit yuu shi very well imo!!! Though she would definitely need a lot more practiced to be as organized as them sob. 3:25 in particular drives me insane:
youtube
OK RAMBLING OVER TAG TIME
@lowcallyfruity @skriblee-ksk @kitwasnothere @cecilebutcher @justm3di0cr3
@thehollowwriter @distant-velleity @the-trinket-witch @techno-danger @scint1llat3

Your thinking is an investment.
(Long Post): Even if shit doesn't hit the fan right away, you're planning for that story to eventually happen. If you hate your job, your living situation, your life path, whatever it is, the story you're telling about it to others and yourself is always manifesting. You can't turn it off. It's okay to not enjoy it, hate it, etc. But it's important to pivot your mindset and investing in seeing it changing. Whatever you tell yourself consistently will play out.
I'm going to discuss intrusive thoughts and OCD below and how I managed mine while manifesting:
Intrusive thought/OCD wise, it's not any or every thought that pops up in your brain. It's just what you validate. Even if you're afraid or paranoid about xyz, your emotional mind thinks it's real but the rest of you doesn't. Your mental responses you can't control aren't going to manifest. In therapy, you learn that you don't have to give these fleeting thoughts power, even if they're incessant. You still have control. It's also totally okay if you vent about your circumstances btw. That's not going to affect anything if you say it won't.
Everyone is always going through something. And during all this, especially with transitioning from taking full control after a lifetime of thinking you couldn't, it may feel like absolutely nothing is going on and shit can feel frustrating. However, what you don't know is that you're rewriting all of the people and situations you've changed your mind about. You may not see the full changes right away, but please take every single 'coincidence' as a sign of it working, because it is. People are going to start being nicer and more considerate, situations will be less frustrating, money will be more fluid, and your mental health will improve. It's also okay to be emotional, frustrated, and to just not be okay. If your story overall doesn't change, you're fine. Let those emotions flow!
There's going to be a lot of epiphanies and break throughs, especially if you start nurturing your self concept and apply that peace of mind it gives to everything. You're going to start noticing harmful thought patterns you've had, decisions you've made because of conditioning, and you'll see what you need to internally let go of. This is where therapy, therapeutic tools, and different spiritual practices and rituals come in to help this adjustment. There's no one size fits all for everyone so you should ideally find what speaks to you and not what you 'think' you should adopt. Your intuition, imo, will help you out here. This may be a period where you purge out old relationships, habits, and lifestyles which don't align with you anymore. They may even simply fall off on their own. None of this has to happen but is what I see in a lot of people due to my own journey. But nothing bad has to happen nor do you need to sacrifice anything. That's Hollywood-dramatic, lmao. You just may not resonate with a lot of shit anymore. And that's OKAY! It's great tbh. You're going to notice people's limitations they impose on you or themselves immediately too.
The second you say shit's new, then it is. When you continue to choose it or persist, you'll notice the wheels moving. After a week, month, months, or a year or more, your circumstances are going to dramatically change. They can literally happen over night if you like your shit to move fast too. After a while, you're going to understand the mechanics of how YOU personally manifest and what you like to do vs what you don't. There's no one size fits all. It doesn't matter if you've tried a thousand techniques. As long as you say everything you do is working and you are a stubborn motherfucker, your mind's going to get used to it and will stop fighting you on everything, especially if you're neurodivergent. Speaking from experience. When you tell your brain who's boss consistently, it takes you at your word and the trust you have in yourself to choose the best outcomes you develop from your self concept starts running in the background. It'll become easier to self-soothe, reassure yourself, and regulate your nervous system. When you say you're in control, your universe says 'okay, bet' and you'll find those resources easily or you'll start naturally doing them.
You're constantly investing in what works for you or works against you. You're either trusting in things working or working against your favor. That's why it's always good to think great things about yourself regardless of circumstances how things look or seem or how the past played out. All outcomes shift immediately with your awareness of what you think is possible. Your senses are limited and this is why it's crucial to let your imagination do the rest. Because shit always catches up. Your brain can't tell the difference between what you think you're experiencing vs what you actually are irl.
So if you continually tell yourself good things are happening or will, there has to be a confirmation bias for that. Your brain runs off your logic at all times. Therefore, you can rationalize that anything can work and it will. From a nitty gritty pov, you should always make sure to still be reasonable about shit, like to not blow your rent on some bs in one night. But after a while, you'll be able to do that and it won't be a problem. Don't stress your mental bandwidth out like that at first unless you have the inner resources to lock in on a good outcome. Dream big and do all things big, but do so safely without risking your mental health.
Whatever you invest in, positive or negative, will always pay off. Choose them wisely :)

Anne of the Island, Chapter One!
And wellll, I guess I’m actually starting off before chapter one! And it’s two things, really.
First, this inclusion, before Maud even adds her own sweet dedication:
Tumblr media
I sometimes wonder how many then-contemporary readers saw this, knew the whole source, and fully took it as a spoiler… either way, it’s pretty clever. These four lines of Tennyson are taken from the poem “the Day-Dream,” specifically from the third part called, “the Arrival.” And maybe predictably, it’s about the Fairy Prince’s arrival into the titular Day Dreamers (who btw reverts inward to avoid harsh realities, in case it wasn’t Anne enough already) life. And of course anyone who’s already read Anne of the Island will know that this is a huge theme in the overall arc of the novel. I also like that Maud took this little verse patch in particular, because it aligns sooo precisely with Anne and Gilbert’s romantic beginnings… the ‘precious thing discovered late,’ for sure, but also in mention of the drawing of ‘the veil’. Anne of the Island directly follows Anne of Avonlea, which ended nicely with Miss Lavendar’s wedding to Stephen Irving, and very importantly, also this kind of naked moment between Anne and Gilbert where they each recognise their shared future and feelings, and the narrative says, “...it was as if a veil that had hung before her [Anne’s, that is] inner consciousness had been lifted, giving to her view a revelation of unsuspected feelings…” So, yeah. This epigraph is pretty much perfect.
Besides which, I also want to be even more extra annoying, and say that Tennyson is already in general a reocurring soft spot for Anne and Gilbert. It’s Anne’s playing at Tennyson’s Lady of Shalott that sees Gilbert saving her life for the first time, and it’s that near-drowning that ushers in Anne’s real forgiveness for Gilbert’s old slight. Other things too! Later in the series, when Gilbert pronounces Captain Jim dead, he uses a Tennysonism and tells her that Captain Jim has “crossed the bar.” (Here’s Crossing the Bar, just in case.) LATER later, in Anne of Ingleside, Nan mentions Anne “read to her one night from the old volume of Tennyson Father had given her long, long ago…” + many more such cases, and imo just cute.
But really, onto Chapter One! The Shadow of Change.
A slam dunk of a title. The Shadow of Change could nearly be considered a proper character in this chapter because it’s eeeeverywhere. There’s liminal space for like miles, in all directions. There are obvious things, spelled out to the reader, in grocery-list fashion... the season is changing from summer to fall, Diana is engaged to Fred Wright, Anne is leaving Avonlea behind for college, and Mrs. Rachel is moving into Green Gables. I could almost cite this whole opener when trying to pick out a chapter highlight, because Maud’s prose is so visceral here, on hopes and anxiety. I always get a real lump in my throat about it. But there are other things changing, too. When Gilbert overtakes Anne on the bridge, they're lingering over their past, rather literally. It's only been one tiny week since the events of Anne of Avonlea, where an "unseen finger" turned the page on Anne's girlhood, leaving before her "womanhood, with all its charm and mystery." Gilbert was midwife to that transition, and now here he is again, placing his hand over Anne's, and teasing out a brand new (and involuntary) womanhoody physiological reaction, one "not strictly sensible,” from her, to top it all off. And even though it kind of scares her (I feel like this is a good point to remember that while Anne is 18 here, Gilbert is nearly 21, which imo kind of contributes to him being in an awkward position; kind of one-or-two-steps-ahead of Anne, and perpetually needing to wait for her to catch up), Anne's still reflecting on the pleasantness of his touch, later toooo... complete with a dig at poor Charlie Sloane lmao.
Also, really fast, when Gilbert's mentioning that Kingsport "has the finest natural park in the world", the Maud scholars, when it comes up for them, like to supplement this postcard! Since fictional Kingsport is based on non-fictional Halifax, Point Pleasant Park is evidentally the likely inspo behind for Kingsport's nameless park.
Tumblr media
Okay, what else??
Davy. Davy is the original Sour Patch Kid. First he says something sour, and then he says something sweet. But for me… the first big laugh of this book is always, “But if you did want to catch a man, how would you go about it? I want to know.” 💀 Can you imagine?
Now anyway, I’m sure this post is full of ugly typos and bad syntax and incomplete thoughts but it’s 11:50 and I’m for bed! But I’m so excited to be reading this book with so many friends. I always learn so many new things from you guys!

tl;dr, there were some choices made re: pacing and blocking that i disagree with, but there was also some new material added that i am very into.
cons
went too fast. for an episode named for buggy’s declaration the balance of time fell way more on sabo et al
the ‘roger patting shanks on the head’ moment has young, beanie-wearing buggy in the manga, why redraw it with this teenaged, black kerchief buggy look?! :/ i wanna feel the weight of years of buggy feeling inferior in this moment
the blocking is so weird. why start the conversation with the two of them so far apart and add a beat of shanks walking closer to ask buggy to come with him? what does that serve? it’s awkward, makes almost no sense—why is buggy trying to talk about this at such a distance?—and barely adds at all to the runtime of the episode. if you wanted to draw out the scene, there were better ways to do it
and then, instead of using the wide shot when buggy turns to run, letting them look small and isolated while they’re separating, you zoom in tight on buggy’s face? and cut super quick from that face to present day buggy? if you want to draw out this scene, do it by extending this running sequence! start out with the wide shot of buggy running away from shanks in the rain, take a few beats of that before getting up in teen buggy’s face, then transition from his face to present day buggy’s
why bother having buggy’s hands pinned on hooks if they can come free that easily and painlessly? he picks up the snailphone no problem like ten seconds after his hands get knocked off the hooks
tbh i don’t like him having use of his hands in this scene at all, the desperation of buggy’s head rolling over to the phone in the manga hits way harder (and makes crochawk’s inability to stop him feel more plausible, here they literally watch him pick up the phone and do nothing about it)
pros
big top blaster my beloved 💜 she’s such a brightly colored disaster, i love her. wish the reveal trip to see her had been drawn out even longer, tbh
“this isn’t how i wanted my life to turn out… how’d it come to this…” → sepia-toned flashback of rejecting shanks?! i am. ill.
adding roger pirates flashback material as buggy starts to monologue at crocodile and mihawk? *chef’s kiss*
especially buggy saying “we weren’t able to go to laugh tale for some reason” while we see images of sick buggy and ‘we’ll go there on our own ship’ shanks………
“i’m disappointed in you, shanks” and flipping from teen buggy to present day buggy for a second… just for an eye twitch… ohhh, that’s nice
the hand slap!?! not just a fist raised in denial of shanks’ request but literally slapping it away??? excuse me?!?
instead of having shanks voice the “?!” response to buggy calling him a coward, we get a gulp? shanks retreating back into himself? which fits more with shanks standing there watching buggy leave than a confused or outraged sound would have, imo

omg… re: the charles like, i’m just giggling at how petty it is. (imo at least) this is a direct response to ferrari leaking the news about his contract negotiations, like a “hey look at how well max and i look together haha (threatening)” and i love it 😭😭😭 (again imo) its completely undeniable now that charles is using lestappen for leverage in his negotiations and im glad hes dispelling the no backbone rumours!!
thank u and everyone else involved for the lestappen gate tag btw! you have me fully onboard 🫶🫶
NO BUT LIKE -- the implications of this
you have to understand, charles likes to play subtle PR games. at the beginning of the year, the charles to merc rumours were emerging and he managed to respond by liking 3 separate tweets about staying with ferrari to shut them down.
now, fast forward to november, charles to rbr agenda is LOUD. ferrari is leaking information about contract negotiations to possibly (and dare i say unsuccessfully) increase public pressure on charles to renew his contract. they even mention in the leaks that he does not have many other options outside of ferrari which is a lie -- red bull publicly voiced interest in him and charles definitely works with multiple plans, so again, this is just them manipulating the narrative
after his crash on sunday, all eyes are on charles and what he says, what's his next move. and what does he do? likes a freaking lestappen edit on main. an edit where a clip of a ferrari car cuts into a clip of an rbr car. this ferrari -> red bull transition may be charles' way to hint at the current contract rumours.
and in a way it's genius, it's not too loud to get a call from ferrari pr to unlike it (like the previous tweets he had to unlike) but also gets the message across.
one thing about charles, he will be smart about his messaging online and we're just witnessing his first choice to speak up after sunday in his own way.
ALSO BEAR IN MIND -- charles is rn in LA for something regarding his WME contract, he's making moves faster like no one else atm

ALRIGHT SO
I watched HTTYD 2 for the first time and I have Thoughts. Spoiler warning ig but like, pretty sure everyone's watched the film who's reading this post anyway.
Thing number one: THEY DID THE GANG SO DIRTY???? Transitioning from RTTE to the second film gave me massive whiplash on that front, they gave them like???? no time????? no lines????? like wtf man????? Astrid turns up occasionally to give Hiccup a pep talk, with the rest of her limited screentime being devoted to a b-plot that was kinda pretty bad. Snotlout, the twins, and Fishlegs only barely exist, and the whole love thingy situation with Eret, Snotlout, Ruffnut, and Fishlegs was just....bleh.
Thing number two: The film simultaneously felt too fast and too slow. The slow scenes sometimes dragged a bit too long imo, and the fast scenes could be pretty difficult to follow, with just, a lot of stuff going on, but not in a good way (if that makes sense?).
Visuals were gorgeous throughout, the closeup shots of the dragons was cool because wow the skin looks so textured. Loved how they kept the philosophy of the scenes only being lit with objects actually there (or whatever it was), the lighting was ough yes very nice. The motion of the people (particularly hiccup) felt very motion-capture, but not enough to detract from the film.
I really wish I could've seen more of him exploring the uncharted parts of the world, that was cool (ig rtte is that but ehh).
There were definitely flashes of brilliance in the film as well. The flight scenes with Hiccup and Toothless were stunning, the scene where Stoick meets Valka is great, Stoicks funeral was also very good. One of my favourite moments was Hiccup flying in on the wingsuit, covering Drago in zippleback gas, and blowing him up because yes yes yes this is the person with the heart of a cheif and soul of a dragon!!!!!
Returning to visuals, there are many shots that are just gorgeous. I would say that it felt less like every frame could be a painting (which the 1st on genuinely did feel like a lot of the time) and more like a lot of okay stuff and then BAM most beautiful shot you've ever seen. They really got the sense of scale well, and did a good job placing how big and fast the dragons are in the 3d space (most of the time), something which I felt the shows were lacking, probably just due to not having the budget for huge sweeping landscapes that actually look any good, among many other reasons I'm sure.
Love that Hiccup kept the changes to the sword that Viggo made (even though yes, Viggo being the one to have the idea was added retroactively). Also cool that it retracts and stuff, it's cool to see the final design after the iterations in rtte. same for wingsuit.
Loved that Toothless's loyalty/friendship/love for Hiccup was what brought him back.
Drago was super forgettable as a villain ngl. I just kinda didn't care about him. I was very surprised that Hiccup didn't bring up his leg when Drago was monologuing about losing his arm to a dragon. Also was Drago supposed to be Hiccups foil? Or something? idk, whatever, I just didn't care about him. Why did he have a big army? idk he just does. Literally what even was his end goal i genuinely don't remember and I just watched the film.
If they could make the film cover a short TV show to flesh out basically everything more that could've been neat, but idk if the budget would stretch that far and still produce something good. Maybe the film was trying to fit in too much? Idk lol.
I'll probably watch No.3 on my own cause my family would NOT stop talking -_-
Anyway this is by far the longest post I've ever made so if you made it this far I'm impressed.

im genuinely curious since i keep seeing this opinion, but i rly dont think hotd writing was bad? nothing is perfect but idk, unless someone points to me the times they had shitty writing im having a hard time seeing it. unless i dont actually know what "writing" means here. english is not my first language, i COULD be misinterpreting things lmao. i rly liked how they did things this season, i think it made sense with the last one, this one was just Tenser because at any second the war will reallyyy break out n we dont know when cuz we have two driving forces from opposite sides not wanting that to happen, thats the entire point of s2 i think: establishing that in war there is no clear winner ("strange victory" n all that), that everyone is going to die, that there is no point to any of it theres no point to war at all, that every character is "heroic" and "villainous" in their own right in the right pov. i think it was a fun season to flesh out the characters, have us not feel entirely happy to be fighting for one side cuz theres innocents in both sides but ultimately we all know they will all die and its all for nothing. thats the tragedy of it all imo. i loved it to pieces. i guess id say im sad some characters didnt interact but also i dont see how they would considering how this season went. n also i wanted more rhaena (i do hope she'll have a cool ass role next season, idc idc)
i personally think this season was truly a transition season to full out war. people are pissed because they wanted war to instantly happen after lucerys died last season, but in reality things arent that black and white and i think it would have cheapened the plot to fast forward through the political negotiations and underhanded scheming to try and win without fighting, to just full on nuclear dragon war.
I actually like the idea that this season was like standing on a cliffs edge where one wrong move led to oblivion with millions of people dying and the practical annihilation of half of house targaryen. I'm glad that the writers took the time to emphasize how dire this war could become before barreling us into it. the political battles and moral dilemmas are just as fun to watch as the actual battles
that being said, there are still valid criticisms of the show being brought up too: like the weird pacing and absolute dragging on of daemons harrenhal ghost adventures. on one hand I get it, because in the books daemon just disappears for weeks at a time, and the writers had to do SOMETHING with him this season instead of having him peace out for 7 episodes. but I agree that the harrenhal visions became repetitive, and I'm also not a huge fan of the back to the future magic being shoved in our faces instead of more subtle clues to it
overall, it was a transition season, not the absolute best season of television history, but it's definitely not the worst (and not even CLOSE to being as bad as got s8). I think in modern age media consumption, people now equate "i personally don't like this" to "this is all horrible and the whole show is trash now"

As our resident vocal expert here among the Jiminettes, I wonder if you would weigh in on Jin's new album?
I especially want to ask you about the title track. This is something I've noticed about Jim lately--how often he switches to falsetto when it doesn't seem necessary or desirable. Falsseto/head voice in the chorus--so it's softer--and then he goes back to chest voice for the final word "most." It's a bit jarring, imo.
Am I the only one perplexed by this vocal choice? He did the same thing in his debut album, too. I think back to his masterpiece Epiphany--damn, that was powerful. Can he no longer sing like that? Is he playing it safe? Is it a stylistic choice I just don't get?
Otherwise, it's very nice. Frankly, I didn't recognize his voice with DTMYLM at first--I thought he sounded like Jungkook. And the rest of the album has some good moments, too. I definitely like it better than his debut.
i haven't listened to the full album yet still 😬 i got bored after 2 and half songs and stopped. i did listen to dont say you love me though and i actually really liked it. i don't actually listen to jin's music much at all surprisingly because his music fits right into my music taste. anyway, i can't really weigh in on the whole album cause i haven't listened to it all but i can totally talk about the tt.
i actually have an unanswered ask in my inbox about jk's use of falsetto on golden that i still need to answer (sorry guys, life is busy and i get unmotivated 😭) but i think this is a good time to talk about the choice between using head and chest voice.
so for dsylm, the falsetto in the chorus really fits the generally softer vibe of the song. it's not a super fast or dancey song, nothing that really hits you hard in it. because the chorus is in the register where he would have to belt, mix, or turn to head voice to hit it, the best choice to fit the vibe of the song was to choose falsetto.
i mean, think about who. would who have the same vibe if jimin chose to sing the prechorus in falsetto instead of mix? not at all, and it would have felt jarring to sing it in that way. same concept here. the vibe of the song fit falsetto more than chest voice did.
but i definitely see what you mean by the transition from head voice to chest voice is jarring in the "cause it hurts the most" part of the chorus. something jimin is really really good at that the rest of bts isn't great at is smooth transitions between registers. he's able to smoothly move from chest voice to head voice and vice versa without it seeming too sudden. jin doesn't have that skill, so he jumps from head voice to chest voice with no transition and it also comes with a change in intensity. honestly, even though those notes fit in his chest voice range, i think jin should've continued with head voice for those parts just to keep the soft vibe of the chorus intact.
now if we wanted to see jin use his chest voice for the chorus part, he could actually do that really easily by actually putting a bridge in the song that builds and builds and builds and then do a final chorus that's more intense where the chest voice sound would fit better.
i feel like i need to give an example of what i mean. if you didn't know i'm Christian so the music i listen to is very split between pop music and christian music. i don't really know where people are in terms of religion on here but if you haven't listened to contemporary christian music, most of the popular artists and bands have incredibly talented vocalists so they're able to use techniques that kpop idols usually don't have the skill or ability to do live. one song that really really shows off the concept of building up a song to do a really satisfying final chorus is who else by gateway worship and abbie gamboa. i'll link it so you can listen to it (this is my most streamed song so far this year 😭😭)
so in this song, the verses and chorus start off very quiet and slow. immediately belting doesn't fit the vibe. halfway through the second chorus, we jump an octave up and abbie starts using more is mix voice to hit the notes, but notice that the vibe of the song still isn't super intense. yes, we've built up since the first chorus but we're not fully up in intensity yet. then we get into the bridge and it's a ton of building in the instrumental, in the backing vocals, in the progression of the melody slowly getting higher and just the song building up. then we get to the final chorus following the bridge and abbie is belting, the instrumental is full and satisfying (and so so so so so good 😭😭) and the build up to that final chorus is perfectly timed. Had that first chorus been replaced by the last chorus, the whole vibe of the song would've been thrown off. and then the vibes drop back down to a more chill tone and abbie sings the chorus in falsetto.
point is, the choice between head voice and chest voice is determined by the vibe of the song, the amount of building intensity, and the emotional intensity wanting to be achieved. dsylm will probably be a kinda boring song to perform in concert because it lacks a building intensity. a song like who else is perfect for a concert scenario (from an audience perspective, a sound engineer perspective, and a lighting perspective haha) because of that build
i think if jin is gonna continue to release songs with a more traditional band type feel to it, he's gotta find ways to get emotion and intensity to build in his songs, otherwise performing them will just be boring 🤷‍♀️

I saw your analysis on Conker and Barri's relationship, and I was wondering if you could analyze Conker's "friendship" with Rodent and why he hates him even though Rodent was one of the few nicer character in the game?
Ahhhh I can try
Idk if I have the direct answer but I’ll interpret it
To start it’s kind of out of left field that Conker apparently didn’t like Rodent- as I believe they had a previous history before CBFD so it’s hard to interpret how they met or what they think of each other. But other than the end, their interactions are fairly friendly
Tumblr media
But fast forward to the end, Conker calls Rodent an idiot as he’s walking away and gets upset when Rodent joins his kingdom. I think that maybe this was put in later so Conker didn’t have an upside to his new role, as having an understanding friend besides Conker in his struggle would reverse the meaning of the ending a bit
But dw, there’s plenty of other reasonings
Tumblr media
To add onto my previous analogy; Conker is horribly materialistic and not a good person. Both in and out of war we can see a change in his character, as he goes from semi decent and attentive to directly after being over everything and ungrateful.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Don’t take this as Conker just being extremely introverted, as he does have a set group of friends and Berry as seen in the beginning of the game
Tumblr media
However he might just be putting these guys into a separate list alongside Berry, as something representing his own comfort. His friends may be exempt from everything else, as the bar could be a safe place for Conker. I think maybe no matter what is said and done for Conker, that he has a Highschool mentality towards others, pushing them away and out of his league when his usual life begins up again.
Mainly because Conker doesn’t act like this in war. Rodent is someone Conker should hold a large amount of respect towards-and he kind of does.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Rodent really doesn’t do anything wrong. He sacrifices himself for Conker, he saved his life by warning him, and he literally took bullets for Conker as he’s used as a shield and leads the way for Conker. He’s nerdy, but his interactions with Conker don’t strain Conker or ask too much from him. No matter what, because Rodent is out of Conkers set few selection of favored people, he’ll never be good enough.
And like I said, Conker is so materialistic, he constantly values money, babes, and beer over others. We can see this when he thinks he’s saving a little girl from a battlefield-and is only motivated to do so because he might get payed by the parents
Tumblr media
Conker is extremely selfish, and despite helping others throughout the game, he does it for himself.
But like I said there’s a 180 between the war level and every other level. Conker is witnessing something devastating, and is in an environment where anyone including himself can be killed within seconds. Conker isn’t really in much distress until this point, so we see a semi more careful version of himself. It’s kind of shown in a nice moment between him and the general after witnessing the horrors of war, and imo that transitions Conker between having a newer perspective on life-to his usual self. Maybe in a better ending Conker would change here. He’d find how delicate life is and put his desire for materialistic items behind him. But no, it’s not easy for Conker to change-and even an act of war doesn’t quite do that for him

I just finished watching Love Syndrome: The Beginning and... I actually really liked what they did with the source material. It's interesting that this and the series are by the same production company and director but other than the choice of skinny jeans (someone must have been a big fan lmao) and Tuss reprising his role as Neil, the movie has a very different vibe imo.
It's also unfinished, meaning it ends on a cliffhanger with a big 'to be continued' - which probably isn't intentional seeing as they were originally aiming for a cinematic release (not to mention the sudden passing of the producer/director). I can't blame them either because I think they made the deliberate decision to mostly leave this as is to honour the director's final work:
Tumblr media
As it is, I think the movie is a very solid piece of entertainment with some really nice acting, especially by Bix Tagon as Itt.
I've read most of the novels in the Love Syndrome universe and they're actually very same-y with the same non-con kink repeated throughout pretty much every couple's story (and there's A LOT of couples). This is why Day and Itt were never my faves (especially since the tropes really be troping with these two) and tbh I wasn't really into Long and Frank's version of them either (which isn't their fault at all - I just don't think Frank was a good fit for Itt), but Nef and Bix really make them work for me this time.
For one, there's zero romanticisation. Day is positively unhinged and there's zero doubt that Itt is the victim here. The scenes between them are incredibly brutal to watch but at the same time there's this almost stageplay-like feeling to them - as if every little piece of dialogue and acting has its place and nothing is drawn out or glossed over. I really appreciated that (as difficult as their scenes were to watch). I don't think that's easy to accomplish. I saw in some of the bts that they worked closely with either an acting coach or an intimacy coordinator (or both) throughout the filming of Day and Itt's scenes and imo it really shows. As bad as it sounds because Day is such a horrible person and Itt is straightup going through hell, theirs really were the most interesting scenes in the movie for me.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
According to MDL Nef and Bix are rookie actors too so kudos to them for doing an incredible job. I hope we get to see more of them especially since Day and Itt's story is far from finished and I'd really like to see if they can pull off the transition from toxic hate to toxic love (imo it didn't work at all in the series, mostly because it started with book 3).
As for Gear and Night, they chose to almost completely sanitise their story (except for the initial bet itself) which imo was a good choice because in the novel reading about the same trope over and over again got tired real fast. Night takes Gear back relatively quickly and then they just pick up where they left off (but with Night more or less in control now).
Plus, Tiger Tanawat (who btw is a Change 2561 artist) as Night is such a mood:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I already loved Rossi as Night but dang (also, I need that shirt). 🫠
There's also some cute Four and Gus moments that unfortunately (or fortunately - seeing as how the writer of the novel also seems to have an age gap kink that's better left unmentioned 😬) gloss over most of their story. Knot, Fu and Neil kind of appear but that's about it.
I wonder - providing we ever get to see the second part of this movie - if they'll scrap the horrible Neil as the villain side plot or not because I could totally do without that. 😬😬
That being said, if you thought The Effect was difficult to stomach then you probably shouldn't watch this. Love Syndrome never hides the fact what it is about but it unfortunately doesn't offer any content warnings. Its SA scenes are explicit and realistic so if that's upsetting to you please please don't watch this. 🙏

Favorite MK character?
They’re are two categories I have for favorites
Tumblr media
Ever since playing the game I work best with characters that have close range special moves or teleporting special moves. Ermac and Smoke are fun to troll AI’s in invasions with because I can spam teleport 24/7. While Jacqui is also nice to play because I can do close stuff to give my opponent no air to breath and like mid range stuff if I need to make some distance away to reorganize myself
Li Mei is my ride or die. This woman is just so fun to play with because for me she’s easy. Her special moves are cool and easy (except that lantern one), her fatalities are fun to watch, and she’s got some sick ass brutalities. I saw her IP Man inspired brutality where she caves in the other character’s skull in and I immediately wanted the chance to play her. She is arguably why I wanted to get MK1 and what pulled me into enjoying the gameplay, not just character stuff. Even though now I maxed out her levels and am trying new characters to level up, she will always be my favorite character no matter what.
Tumblr media
The second category for favorite is coolness. My definition of coolness is either design or powers. Nightwolf is a cool motherfucker. MK11 this guy is eye catching with his face paint and powers he gets from “The Great Spirit”. And his like end cinematic thing where he howls and it transitions into a wolf howling to the moon is tuff as hell. Like if I got jumped by Nightwolf I would be shitting bricks because this guy has the biggest aura imo
Skarlet I like because of her original MK11 skin. Something about it gives a cool ass bounty hunter vibe or sci fi Star Wars/Dune look to it that makes her look badass. Also she caught my eye because of her blood mage powers. Imagine fighting against someone who can control blood, like blood bending in Avatar. That’s both scary but an awesome power. That’s why I tried playing her when I picked up MK11 (I didn’t like the long range special moves)
Kung Lao. I’m gonna be honest it’s the hat. Like cmon the man is fighting with a razor hat. The only person I can think of off the top of my head that uses a hat in a fight is Mario in Super Mario Odyssey. Imagine you just get beat down by someone with a razor hat. It’s so wild it’s impressive. I saw an edit once of Kung Lao’s actor for the sprites in MK2 or MK3 and he just looked badass, so I drew the MK3 version of him.
Drew a bit of bonus characters too. Sheeva from MK3 is more cool looking than the MK11 version imo. Geras (MK1) gets cool points purely because he’s voiced by Phil Lamar and is a way better fitting design in MK1 in my eyes. And Kabal is cool cause he’s fast and got sharp hooks
Tumblr media
And those are the types of favs. Nothing else, nope!
Tumblr media
Don’t look at them please
I would not shut up or hold back if I talked about these hotties, so ima just leave it at that 😊

look, the truth is Yuma is no Shoma when it comes to musicality, presentation and artistry. sure, he has the best SS in the field now, but in the FS especially his SS actually worked against his overall program, Yuma comes across as too smooth, too fast, did not have any connection with his music whatsoever despite the complexity of his transitions, his step sequence was great but the utter disconnect with everything that come before it also makes the program not easy to receive. meanwhile Ilia skated that FS with full commitment to his music, better showmanship and even a better costume (this is unacceptable IMO. yes its early in the season but letting it's embarrassing to let Ilia have the better costume) and he completely outperformed Yuma from start to finish despite having worse SS. listen to the live audience's reaction, so much louder for Ilia. and these things matter. I think this is still too early of course and there's no way but up for Yuma after this. but Ilia clearly came to Lombardia specifically to discredit Yuma and make an attack on his scores and he accomplished it very successfully.
I don't think Ilia going to Lombardia was an attack on Yuma tbf. This season the main contenders have actually only two places to perform - Lombardia Trophy and Nebelhorn Trophy - with everything else being close to the GP series and Finlandia falling off and US Classics being an ice dance and Pairs event only. And believe me when I say that even as a German Nebelhorn Trophy is a pain in the a** to get to, so I understand why Ilia chose Lombardia. The scoring isn't Ilia's fault either, so to say he had that in mind when performing there is a stretch.
The problem lies with the judges. Judges should not be blinded by super engaging fun programs and if that's the factor for PCS than that's plain wrong. Skating skills should not be awarded for having a program that goes with the audience. And if that would be true that judges would only go for that then skaters would all just do show numbers, but no it's specifically Ilia that is rewarded here for what??? Commitment to the program? The cheering of the audience??? A "better costume than Yuma"??? These are not parts of the PCS. (And if that would be the criteria than what about so many other skaters who commit wholly or had fun programs they don't magically have better PCS. Josefin Taljegard, Kazuki Tomono, Koshiro Shimada come to mind...)
Judges are human so ofc they also fall for things like this, but they are professionals they should award correct points which they don't. And Yuma should be awarded on skating skills even if it makes it "work against" his program where I see your point but I think especially the step sequence shows that he can be sharper. He still needs to work on it, yet the complexity and the skating skills should be rewarded, that's what these compartments of programs are for. And just bc Yuma's is not so much on the nose, doesn't make it a bad or boring program. I also wouldn't say Yuma has no connection to his music but that's probably based on what you think of as "connection to music". Yuma is the better skater and this should be reflected in the PCS and guess what it wouldn't change a thing about the placements to give Ilia just a few points less than Yuma. He would still win with his TES and this is where it's a circle and why ppl are not taking the scoring seriously. High TES should not give you high PCS. End of story.
Ilia will win with his TES there is just no need to make him the most skilled skater in all compartments when he is visibly not. Maybe not visible for every fan but for professional ppl inside the sport and it just gets laughable.
Tbc this is not to bash Ilia in any way he works with what he can do and the judging is not his fault. His technical ability and technique is crazily good. His skating skills however are not that good to be getting 9s. One judge even gave his FS 97!!!! PCS if that's not a clownery than what is.

RWBY volume 4 episode 6: Tipping point rewatch thoughts. RWDE/Critical opinions ahead, you have been warned
.Ruby being sad about it taking so long makes me remember the fact they could've just taken a train.
.Whoever made this map should've bothered mentioning the abandoned city that is Oniyuri, you'd think that'd be worth at least a footnote.
.Could the rich asshats who made this place really not afford a Hunter? If team RNJR could handle that thing, surely a seasoned Hunter could.
.I kinda wish they just had each character go through their arc all at once instead of cutting between them. I don't know how people would've reacted to that if they had done that but still.
.I think I don't really like Casey's singing voice pre-Ok goodnight that much. It's not like, actually bad and there are good songs from that era but still.
.Jacques: "Hmm yes we got her to sing about how much I suck, everything's going according to plan."
.I'm going to assume the SDC is underpaying their whole mining staff, or Jacques is lying... actually let's be real here it's both.
.This Party has more people in then the shots of Menagerie did. The tech crew said it themselves.
.Is it weird I kinda wish Henry was just May pre-transition instead of her cousin? I not sure how much sense it would've made but her and Weiss meeting again would've been really funny IMO.
.Weiss losing her marbles for entirely understandable reasons, I hope that blond lady dies.
.If they wanted people to hate Ironwood, why did they make him so cool? "Always a Dictator" my ass.
.FUCK YEAH, HE'S HERE!!!!
.That one shot of Tyrian clinging to Jaune's shield.
.Why the fuck is Jaune the one who "interests" him? He already get enough attention as is and this is never even expanded on later.
.Tyrian has such a way with words, I hate when people (Including the show sometimes) reduce him to just "The crazy one"
.The only thing I don't like about Tyrian is how kinda basic his design is. he's named after a shade of purple, let him wear purple and I'd even put a purple highlight on the end of his ponytail.
.I know their trying to make him seem crazy, but if I saw one of the people I'm fighting shoot the other for seemingly no reason, I'd laugh too.
.Also why did it take anyone who works with Nora this long to try that?
.Anddddd tail jumpscare.
.Ruby seeing the fact Tyrian's a faunus and immediately asking if he's from the WF... Racist Ruby confirmed LMAO. /S
.Love the evil clown music that starts playing before Qrow shows up. If your crazy your automatically jester coded I guess?
.This feels like the first fight that's fast, fluid and not overly floaty this volume.
.They're never going to show Qrow animorphing from bird to human on screen. I feel like it would've been faster for him to just fly there the whole way instead of running midway through.
.It took Tyrian a really long time to actually hit Ruby, and why is he using his potentially lethal poison on someone he's supposed to bring in alive?
.And Qrow went through a fucking building to get there.
.The breath thing they do at the end is kinda amusing.

WHEW runnin on 4 hours of sleep so I’m struggling with being eloquent. I’m gonna do a list to help my brain—thoughts as I remember them
*Stage is set up wonderfully—most stadiums you aren’t gonna have a bad seat
*If you have ever been to MN, you know that MN Nice isn’t what it means other places. Most here come from sullen Nordic stock so talking to strangers requires a shitton of alcohol. Nary a bracelet was exchanged around me, no complimenting of others outfits. The vibes were very much 👀 staring at others and being too scared to interact 😆
*Openers are perfect—MAATHP followed by CS really gets the crowd amped
*Her opening speech was interesting—she made a point of saying how she appreciates that we are so accepting of people in MN which felt like her acknowledging Pride
*She is so adorable and sexy live, very multifaceted —her stage presence is unmatched. She owns the entire stadium and she knows it. Was super powerful to witness
*Over the top long winded Het-splained Betty which was 🙄 because I thought she was transitioning away from that in previous shows—also my BFF turned to me and goes “she just said it’s a fictional album but then literally writes a song about a House she actually owns” and I died 😆 I had never thought of that before
*Which leads into the fact that Rebekah’s hair was in a ponytail flip thing—hairpin theory may be a bust
*The stage, lighting, bracelets light coordination, pyrotechnics are all top tier. Just next level—I don’t wanna ruin it because it was a shock and super cool, but I’ll say there was a point when we were blasted with volcano level heat being in the upper bowl and everyone went wild
*I sobbed the entire time through Marjorie which was expected
*Dear John was the only song I sat for—I absolutely freaked out that she said be nice online kids don’t go after anyone—turned to my friends and was like omfg she’s never addressed that before!! I do think she needs to be more forceful and real though in her language choice. It very much gave Kindergarten teacher talking to her class—which as we see, did nothing given the amount of posts I’m seeing of swifties being like nope don’t care. I wish she could’ve been like “hey stop being assholes online!! I don’t like it! It doesn’t help me!!”
*Daylight was a shock to me—very beautiful acoustically
*Her dancers are so talented, love all the diversity—also size inclusion, I love a bigger dancer that can do a fucking 3 hour set—break the stereotypes!!
*Seeing the screen during Anti-Hero live was heavy. I do not get what Swifties think is happening during that song. I didn’t realize it till last night, but they juxtaposed live Taylor singing on the left of the screen next to giant angry Taylor screaming and begging to be seen. It’s a crazy feeling to see that and be like damn I participate in this dichotomy by even being here
*I took a pee break during tolerate it and the line was nonexistent
*Shes so quick at costume changes!!
*Rainbow stage and rainbow bracelet lights for August which makes no sense unless it makes sense. Why wouldn’t it be a beach seen/waves?
*I don’t get how she sounds so good second night and doesn’t lose her voice. Doesn’t make sense to me—she must not talk day of the concert at all
*Shit I can’t remember which song it was for, but the screen visuals are naked Taylor in a bed. We get a brief glimpse of her holding someone’s hand, and the hand is of a Black person. This is significant IMO for 2 reasons—we are seeing continuity that she’s using anyone *but* a CIS white man as her love interest over and over and over again. Why?? If she’s only ever officially dated CIS white men?? Make it make sense. Also using a Black man as the Love interest in Lover and then having a Black male dancer do the Karlie grab hands stare at each other walk during Style seems like she’s trying to get across this is about the same person IMO
*The show is planned so well that it never fully loses momentum. And the 3 hours goes by way faster than I thought it was going to
*If you go to a show please stay and cheer for her band, dancers, etc. So many people left while she was asking for us to acknowledge them which is rude AF. She’s always known and acknowledged she couldn’t do these shows without 100s of mostly unseen talented people
Overall, I feel very fortunate I got to see her perform Eras. It is a once in a lifetime show. I don’t know what’s next for her, but it feels like she’s stepping away from this version of herself and evolving. I can’t wait to see what’s next 🫶🏼
