This was honestly such a headache. Oliver’s sired way too many kids with too many different women. As usual, color-coded to make it easier to see who exists within the same continuity; if it’s just black that means their existence is consistent, but if it specifies [Prime Earth] then that means the character was only introduce into the comics during the Prime Earth era (same goes for New Earth).

Colors, as following (though you’ll also see on the tree since I specify each continuity/Earth):

Earth-16 [not the YJ cartoon; The Just comics]: pink

While I try not to double-portray - since most different versions of a character still align - the fact that Arrow already used Shado in another capacity and thus made Kazumi Adachi Emiko’s mother made me double on that, though I still think that she can be considered a version of comic!Shado.

Also, because this part looks messy even to me, regarding the Black Canaries. Dinah Laurel’s last name is usually Lance, these days Drake Lance (with the Lance being married-into for some reason), but in the BoP TV show, her last name was Redmond. Likewise, her mother’s name in the BoP TV show was Carolyn Lance, while New Earth’s continuity named her Dinah Drake and Prime Earth has, far as I could find out, not given her any name at all yet.

And though the YJ cartoon doesn’t come up otherwise, I did find it noteworthy that Bernell was confirmed to be Cissie’s father in the show, since her parentage appears to not have been brought up or confirmed either way in the Prime Earth era so far.

Mia Dearden, the modern Speedy

Pretty major visual overhaul, more inspired by classic Roy than any of Mia or Thea's canon costumes. The second set of eyes on the mask provide a real-time HUD as a way to re-integrate Ollie and Roy's trick arrow/gadgetry focus into a general high tech approach for the Arrows.

Lore-wise, Mia, Emiko, and Cissie operate as a sort of dedicated sub-team (Team Arrowette, if you will) and serve as Hawke's main back-up. Conner's still got his relationships with Kyle and the other 90s JLA characters, but I would like to refocus on his dynamic with the (many, many) other Arrows, if only to re-solidify his role as Ollie's successor.

Time for a story - The Huntress returns

“Look at this. It turns out someone is a pro with the knife.”

Addie turned her head back over her shoulder to look at Felicity. She was smiling proudly, happy about this compliment. When Felicity winked at her, she turned back to the counter. She was standing on a chair in front of it and slicing lemons for the lemonade that she was making with Millie and Raisa. Of course Raisa had her vigilant eyes on each of Addie’s movements, so she wouldn’t hurt herself.

Tying up her hair, Felicity stepped to the kitchen island and skimmed through the mail. Since there wasn’t anything there that needed her immediate attention, she leaned back against the counter and crossed her arms in front of her chest.

“I thought we could play some games in the garden together.” She smiled and cocked her head. “It’s been a while since we have been playing games together the last time.”

“Cool,” Addie replied, “but I want to finish the lemonade first.”

Felicity chuckled. “I wouldn’t have dreamed of dragging you out of the kitchen before you have finished preparing the lemonade.”

Although Addie didn’t turn back around to Felicity, and the strands of hair falling in her face prevented Felicity from seeing her facial expression, she knew that Addie was smiling. She could just feel it or maybe even sense it in a way only parents could.

Her attention shifted to Millie though. She was sitting on the counter, a small cutting board and knife in front of her to chop some herbs it seemed. Unlike her sister, she didn’t seem to be eager to use it though. She wasn’t even paying attention to her task. Instead, she was looking out of the window and scrutinizing whatever she was seeing there.

“What caught your attention?”

She stepped to the counter and tugged playfully at one of Millie’s curly. Unlike she usually did, Millie didn’t laugh though. She barely paid attention to what Felicity said or did. She kept her gaze directed outside.

Felicity shot a brief glance out of the window, thinking she would just find a bird in the trees there or maybe the neighbors’ new cat lying in the sun and enjoying her day. Hawk had been so busy reporting that cat these last hours that Felicity had called Nick on his day off and asked him to take Hawk for a hike or something.

It wasn’t the neighbors’ cat that Felicity saw though. Instead, there was a woman with long dark hair and piercing eyes. She was leaning against one of the trees along the driveway to the house. When their eyes met, the woman’s lips formed to one of the coldest smiles Felicity had even seen. She lifted a hand and waved by just moving her fingers back and forth a little.

“I think we should take a rest from lemonade-making.”

Shooting Raisa a brief glance, Felicity could see that she had caught up on the change in the mood. She took the knife from Addie and lifted the girl from the chair swiftly.

“Let’s go. I will show you some photos of your father and Auntie Thea that I haven’t shown you yet.”

“New photos?” Millie asked eagerly, scooted to the edge of the counter and looked at Raisa with perked up eyebrows. “We haven’t seen them before?”

“No, I promise.” She held out her hands for Millie and Addie to take them which they did immediately. “Let’s go.”

While she was hurrying to take the girls out of the room, Felicity grabbed her phone from the back pocket of her jeans already. Before Raisa left towards the stairs, she shot Felicity another look, and the two women exchanged a meaningful gaze. There was no need to say out loud what they both knew – there was a reason to worry. Even if they needed to say it out loud, they couldn’t. Neither of them wanted to scare the girls.

Thanks to speed dial it took less than ten seconds for the dial tone to sound. It didn’t even need to ring twice before the call was taken.

“I hope the lemonade is ready because when I get out of here, I-“

“Oliver,” Felicity interrupted him sharply, “you need to come home. Now.”

 He was lucky that there hadn’t run into any patrol cars on his way here. They would have certainly tried to stop him. He wouldn’t have let himself being stopped though. They would have chased him through the city. Oliver could only imagine the headlines that would have made.

Luckily, he didn’t have to worry about that. He had enough to worry about anyway.

Arriving at the end of the driveway in front of the house, Oliver saw the woman whose presence made him feel so threatened. The fact that she was here was enough reason for him to worry. He didn’t need anything more.

Oliver hit the brakes, got out of the car and slammed the door shut. With quick and long steps, he approached the woman that was leaning against the tree just like Felicity had told him. She didn’t let herself be bothered, not even by him. If anything, his anger seemed to amuse her. The right corner of her lips twitched slightly when he stopped in front of her and glared at her.

“So it’s true.” She watched him up and down. “That’s the kind of suit you are wearing nowadays. Who would have thought?”

She watched him up and down, shaking her head and crossing her arms in front of her chest. Obviously, she didn’t approve. Not that her approval was anything that Oliver was looking for.

“Helena.” His voice was deepened to dark growl. “What are you doing here?”

The last time Oliver had seen Helena, she had been in prison. Despite their complicated relationship with each other, she had helped him when Felicity had been taken by the Renegades in the summer after his mother had been killed. He had lacked backup, so Lyla and Roy had freed Helena from the prison. She had helped them get Felicity back, and they had brought her back to prison.

“I wanted to see it with my own eyes.”

She nodded towards the house and looked at it intently. The expression on her face was unreadable. A part of her seemed to be amused by the idea that Oliver was indeed living there with his family. A part of her thought that it had to be a joke. Maybe a little part of her even envied him for it. If her fiancé Michael hadn’t been killed, may she’d be living a life like this too.

Before Oliver could suggest any of that, Helena cocked her head at him. Her grin turned into a smile. There was something slightly belittling about it still, but it seemed to be a lot more honest than it had been before.

“You listened to me,” she said, “you didn’t let that blonde girlfriend of yours get away.”

Oliver narrowed his eyes on her slightly. She had advised him to not let Felicity get away. She had noticed how much she had meant to him back then already.

“You know, I have to admit that seeing you with all of this” – she gestured to the house vaguely – “makes me wonder if that conversation we had after our little abduction adventure with Nick is still true.”

“Helena, if you-“

“You said revenge isn’t justice, and I disagreed.”

The difference between justice and revenge was something most over the conversations had been about. They had both been through terrible things, but they had developed different views on the world about it. It had been why their short romance had ended quite quickly.

Through the years, Oliver had thought that Helena’s opinion had changed. After her father had died, she hadn’t felt better. She had felt empty. Oliver thought she had learned from it, but he wasn’t so sure about it now.

“I still stand with what I said. Revenge and justice are not the same thing. What I want is justice, not revenge.”

“I wonder if you still felt that way if it was personal.” She looked back at the house. A small furrow was forming between her eyebrows. “If someone killed her, I am sure you’d-“

Oliver stepped between Helena and the house, blocking her view. He took a step closer, building himself up in front of her. If she wanted to threaten him, he wouldn’t hesitate to do the same.

“You should go,” he said with dark voice, “or I will make you leave.”

“Calm down, hotspur.” She shook her head and even rolled her eyes at him. “If I wanted to hurt them, I would have done so already.”

She could have. Helena had some very good abilities. If she wanted to hurt someone, she could do so easily. She would have been smarter than to wait here until Oliver came back home.

Although he knew that he could relax a little, he was still suspicious. If Helena had chosen to come here instead of getting away from being rearrested, there had to be something she wanted.

“I won’t help you if that is why you came here.”

“I don’t need your help.” Helena’s voice was sharp. She didn’t like that Oliver even considered that she might need his help. “But you might need mine.”

“Why?”

“Because you have grown soft.” Helena shot a brief look at the house. “Obviously.”

Oliver knew that there was some truth to that. He had grown soft because he had let his emotions back in after a long time of suppressing them. Of course Helena would consider it to be a weakness. He himself had done so some time. Now he knew better.

“Helena, I don’t think that you and I have much to say to each other as it is. You helped me once all those years ago, and I have hope that you have learned your lessons. That is the only reason why I am not taking you back to prison personally. Go as far away from here as possible and do so quickly. Maybe that will allow you to-“

“Don’t worry about me.” Helena finally pushed herself away from the tree she had been leaning against. “I will be fine, but you are in trouble. You made someone angry, so angry that even I have heard about it although I have been locked away.”

Although Oliver felt a painful stitch in the bit of his stomach, he did his best to show as little of his worry as possible.

“Doing what I do makes a lot of bad people angry. I am used to it.”

“Not to this kind of anger,” Helena replied and shook her head, “or have you gotten used to having your wife taken and buried alive?”

That painful feeling in Oliver’s stomach turned into something even more. He felt like he had been stabbed or even shot. The pain was just as real. He felt it taking his breath away and tearing open wounds that had never properly healed.

At the same time, he felt a wave of rage hit him. He had suppressed that feeling for so long, telling himself that he needed to move on from it, so he wouldn’t fall back into old habits. It had been impossible, but he had done it. Somehow, he had locked that rage into a small corner of his heart and tried to live without thinking about that little part too much. Now that it broke free again, he doubted that he would be able to ever lock it away again.

When Felicity had been abducted and he had eventually found her buried alive, barely surviving, it had been the most painful moment in his life. The fear that he had to live without her and that their kids had to grow up without their mother had almost caused him to lose sanity.

After Felicity had returned home and they had progressed at least a shallow part of the trauma, Oliver had done the best he could have done to find out who was behind that. He, just like Nick, had overstepped quite some boundaries to find out. Every possible lead had led them into dead-end streets. With a heavy heart and a bad feeling in the pit of his stomach, he had needed to accept that they wouldn’t find the guy that had put them through this.

“You should prepare for more to come. Whoever was responsible for her abduction will come back at you for more. I just thought that you should know that.”

She looked at him meaningfully and turned around to leave. Before she could take a single step, Oliver grabbed her arm though. His grip on her was so tight that it had to hurt her. His fingers were digging into her skin.

“I don’t know more,” she said before he could say anything, “and if I did, I wouldn’t tell you. I am not getting myself into this. I will start my own life somewhere far, far away from here where the shadows of my past won’t find me. Not even that is a solution for you though because there is no place far enough for that part of your past not to find you.”

Helena tried to free herself from Oliver’s grip and take a step away from him. Again, Oliver held her back though, his grip growing even tighter. The piercing expression returned to Helena’s eyes. She leaned forward slowly until her lips were almost touching his ear.

“You have nosy neighbors.”

Oliver’s eyes snapped to the houses across the street. Although the trees were certainly blocking most of the view, the elderly couple walking by on the sidewalk could probably see enough to make up stories in their minds. They saw the married mayor very close with a woman that was not his wife, holding her arm tightly and standing threateningly close to her. It wasn’t hard to guess what stories would go around if he wasn’t careful.

Oliver let go of her reluctantly. He didn’t care when people made up stories about him. He was used to that. Emmy and Tommy were at an age when they would hear those stories though, and he didn’t want them to hear stories like that. They could be convinced that it wasn’t true, but it would have an influence on them. Oliver didn’t want that.

“I told you what I knew because… well, maybe because I see this as my ticket into a free life without the burdens of my past. I have told you. That’s all I can do for you.” She shook her head. “Don’t try to find me. I will be a waste of time because I swear that I don’t know more that what I have told you.”

Although he had no reason for that, Oliver believed her. She didn’t know more. She had heard some rumors and decided to come here and tell him. Of course Helena couldn’t know if those rumors were true if those were really all she knew about this. She believed that they were true though and so did Oliver.

Swallowing all the words he wanted to say and all the questions he felt he needed to ask, Oliver nodded his head. Helena took that as her signal. She pushed her hands into the pockets of her leather jacket, turned around and left. She walked slowly and relaxed, not looking back. She looked like she had just come by for a cup of tea with an old friend. Nothing about her gave away that she had just brought the most terrible news to him.

If Helena’s words were true, he needed to prepare for someone to attack his family because of something he had done. It had always been one of his greatest fears – to have the people he loved in danger because of who he was.

For the first time in a long time, there was a small part of him that he regretted how soft he had grown. After all, it would be easier, if he hadn’t.

Vaelora!!!

- Her favourite flowers to plant are poppies because they got that sweet sweet opium in em, but she’s also kinda fond of em just cause they’re pretty

- Has probably been gifted a few masks to hide her weird birthmark (phantom of the operacoded), usually refuses to wear them out of discomfort but sometimes caves and wears them to big events she’s required to go to

- She was given Nightshade’s egg as a baby, honestly didn’t expect it to ever hatch but surprise! It did when she was like, in her 20’s or so, she probably got to ride her dragon once before kicking the bucket

- Has gone into the cranberry bog. Only once though

- She was definitely married at some point because she has Aeryn (and ol Jae probably wouldn’t be letting her go outside ever if she had a bastard *cough* Gael *cough*), but ngl her husband is…. Kinda unimportant, to me, so I just headcanon him as being a Crabb that died when their son was a baby

- She maybe probably definitely poisoned her husband but don’t worry about that

- Loves Aeryn because he’s her sweet special little quiet boy but has very much fed him a lot of fucked up homemade versions of sweetsleep and milk of the poppy, and probably tried even more fucked up medicines whenever he got sick

- It’s okay though! He survived! Mostly

- Has probably a dozen notebooks on her plant research, some of it is definitively about the trials she did on animals and other plants cause she definitely wasn’t sharing the human tests until after she died

- She absolutely has a shitty relationship with her parents which didn’t help her godawful reputation- but Jae and Aly didn’t really like… Do anything abt her weirdness, mostly because she didn’t step out of line until the witch rumours started popping up

- Was probably a bit mad when Rhaenys got passed over for Baelon. Not because of any legitimate reason she just hates her loudass older brother and his dumbass kids

- Not normal about any of her siblings tbh. Girl’s relationships were crazyyy

- She’s half blind in one eye. Nobody really knows why cause her birthmark doesn’t really hurt or anything so that’s kinda unique ig

- Grew weed in Aegon’s garden. Totally medicinal she totally wasn’t smoking blunts guys I promiseeeee

- loveddd a lot of physical activities. horseback riding and hawking queen <3

- Was proud to be a targ to like, an obnoxious degree. Definitely wore a lot of dragon imagery on her outfits even when she got married into another house

- Honestly looks a lot like Myriah, and that’s kinda on purpose! They also have an increasingly toxic relationship with her cause I said so!

- … ngl I kinda made her a lot like Rhaenyra in terms of personality, if Rhaenyra was like, not interested in the throne and spent 100% more of her brain cells wanting to kiss more women

- Definitely a daddy’s girl, one of Daeron’s favourites aside from obvious golden child Baelor and used that status to get away with everythingggg, even if Myriah wouldn’t take any of her fuckery

- With that though, it would probably take her doing something really bad to get Daeron angry enough to send her away- so I think the probable breaking point was her coming onto one of her brothers’ betrothed/wives, ngl I kinda hc it to be Aelinor because I always love putting this queen in situations <3

- Because I give slightly more of a shit about her husband- I’m gonna name him Theo! He’s probably a Tyrell or from a minor Tyrell branch and also a second son, but Naera was allowed to choose him so she was looking less at status and more… Willingness to ignore all her possible affairs because he’s nice and also a little naive lol

- Their first kid is a girl named Thea after her dad, and continuing the bad family relationship they do not get along that much. Even less when Naera marries her off to a Tyrell cousin and basically adopts a new daughter

- Second kid is a son named Forrest. His most interesting traits is that he’s kinda sickly and also tries to claim the throne after Maekar’s death before his mama tells him to sit the fuck down and mind his dang business

- Her third unofficial kid is her handmaid/lover’s daughter Ella, who’s probably treated the best because Naera like, actually wanted to be a mom for her so she gets spoiled and taken pretty much everywhere she wants

- When it comes to the whole “cutting off your hand and throwing it at the pirate captain” thing, that was insane but like, I cannot emphasize enough that it wasn’t in a girlboss way. Animal caught in bear trap moment

- It was surprising it kinda worked tbh- it was a pure desperation moment after promising “her hand” and she played on that misunderstanding to get away… Captain absolutely kept her hand though

- Doesn’t matter tho because she got a whole new hand!! And it’s better! Kinda- it has articulating fingers and is sorta light and functional, but it’s also a pain to strap on and uncomfortable to have for long periods of time

- Absolutely becomes a worse person after her hand’s gone. Toxic queen 😌
