You stood in the sterile lab, the cold, fluorescent lights casting a harsh glare in the white walls. The sound of machines humming filled the room, a constant reminder of the work you were doing here.

You paused from working on your lab report, glancing over at Teresa, who was intently focused on a computer screen, analysing data. “Do you regret it, Teresa?” You asked, “Betraying them?”

Teresa didn’t look up from the screen. “No,” she replied firmly, “We’re in the right, Y/N.”

You stared at her blankly, did she really not care about them?

“Don’t think too much about it, this is our job now. We’re here and not with them. They’re out there and it doesn’t matter anymore.” She continued, with a slightly gentler tone.

“Not all of them…” you mumbled.

Teresa looked up from her computer screen, she knew how much he meant to you back in the glade, about your secret infatuation with him. “The tests on Minho are looking good, he’s delivering promising results Y/N. If we continue testing, we’ll be closer to finding a cure.”

You nodded, but felt heavy with doubt. You had always believed in the cause, the need to find a cure and save humanity.

But seeing Minho captured and brought to the facility, subjected to tests and experiments, had stirred something inside you. Was this truly the way?

You couldn’t shake the feeling that you were crossing the line but you chose to ignore that for the sake of finding the cure.

It was still early in the day and you were due for a check in session with Minho in a few minutes. The first session, and the first time seeing him since he was held captive.

You couldn’t bring yourself to visit him previously, well, not until now, since it was mandatory for you to check in with your subject as a scientist.

In no time, you found yourself sitting in the cold, clinical meeting room, waiting for Minho to be brought in.

You fiddled with a pen, your mind racing. When the door finally opened, and Minho was escorted in, your heart clenched at the sight of him. He looked worn, his usual fierce determination dulled by exhaustion and pain.

You sat at opposite ends of the table, the distance between you feeling both emotional and physical.

“Minho,” you began, trying to keep your voice steady.

Minho didn’t respond, his eyes refusing to meet yours.

“You have to understand where Teresa and I are coming from…” You continued, “This is for a good cause. We’re trying to save the world.”

Again, he didn’t move a muscle nor did he respond. But you could feel the tension between the two of you, the atmosphere was uneasy. The guilt of bringing him here, away from the other gladers weighed heavily on your shoulders.

You felt your resolve wavering but you forced yourself to remain stern, “You know how much we need to find a cure. Sometimes sacrifices have to be made.”

You sighed and continued. “There’s a girl here, her name is Cheyenne. You can help her Minho, we’re so close to finding a cure. You can help hundreds of infected people, think about it. It just takes a bit of sacrifice…”

Minho’s eyes narrowed, anger flashing in them. “By torturing and experimenting on people? How can you justify that.”

“There is no other way.” You sneered, “We’re doing the best we can.”

“Your best looks a lot like your worst.” He spat, clenching his fists through his handcuffs.

“At least we’re doing something about it! Unlike some people!” You slammed your pen on the table, frustrated with the amount of confusion running through your head.

Your head was thinking differently than your heart. You had certain thoughts, but out came opposing ones.

“You’re no better than WCKD,” He was spiteful, “You’re just like them.”

Your gaze softened, you shook your head slightly.

“The Y/N I know wouldn’t have done this.” He added, scoffing.

The weight of his accusation hit hard. You had always prided yourself on being different, empathetic, wanting to help people. But now, you felt the full force of your actions crashing down in you. Tears welled up in your eyes, and you couldn’t hold them back any longer.

“I’m sorry,” you whispered, your voice breaking, “I just wanted to help…I thought I was doing the right thing, but now, I don’t know anymore.” There had to be another way to cure humanity, this was straight up torture.

Minho’s expression softened slightly, seeing you break down for the first time. “If you really want to help, you need to stop this.”

You took a deep breath, the decision forming in your mind. You stood up and walked around the table, closing the distance between you. “I never wanted to hurt you, Minho.” You confessed, “I’ve always…loved you.”

He scanned your face, eyes darting from your eyes to lips, as you leaned in. Your lips brushing against his, before forcefully attaching.

Little did you know, that Minho too, shared your feelings. You had always admired him, his leadership, fearlessness, and the way he cared for other gladers, especially you.

Those moments where he paid extra close attention to you, wasn’t just because he cared for you like everyone else, but because he had feelings for you. You were always his first priority.

“Shuck, I’ve been wanting to do this to you for so long.” Minho mumbled into the kiss, as he pulled you onto his lap despite having his hands cuffed.

“Please forgive me Minho, I can’t bear to see you like this anymore. I want to stop this, stop WCKD and find the others.” You were straddling him, and pulled away from the kiss.

His response was leaning in for another kiss. The kiss was filled with desperation and regret, a silent plea for forgiveness.

You wrapped your arms around his neck, tugging on his hair lightly, while he pulled you closer to him, fully closing the gap between you.

He bit your lip slightly, you left out a soft moan in response. Your lips moved in sync, they became sloppy, desperate and hungry kisses. You craved more, you missed him badly, and this proximity was exactly what the both of you needed.

The fact that his was growing harder beneath you, and how wet you already were, made it evident that the both of you were touch deprived, and all your feelings had burst out in this session.

thanks to her father, alicent has always had this idea drilled into her head that unless she secures aegon as king he is going to die, rhaenyra will kill him cuz he is a threat (she wouldnt have done that, duh, she doesnt work like the heartless blood hungry men around her that just want everything to be bloodshed and death. she is trying to avoid bloodshed n no one is on the same wave length except for alicent, which is so ironic). can u imagine growing up alongside ure first born son and looking at him and seeing him dead. thats what alicent sees: she sees her lil boy dead as long as he isnt king.

and before viserys death, she understands that actually no thats not true: rhaenyra would never kill him. she trusts her. she understands in that dinner scene that rhaenyra wants peace just like alicent. and then viserys talks his big talk abt dreams and aegon and alicent is now forced with this huge revelation. here he is, her husband, the man that robbed her of her childhood, a childhood of her being strung along and pimped by her own father for his own schemes, never having a voice, always trying to be good, jealous of rhaenyra and her rebellion; here he is denouncing his rebellious daughter in name of tradition and the order of things (so she thinks) and shes brought back to her young self, following her fathers words, and finds herself trusting the men in her life again n again n again. she had power for a brief moment when she was queen regent and what did she do? find religion, another way to constrict her power and her decisions by making them in name of smth else, not herself.

and i mean... it was for nothing!!! they were always going to be aegon on the throne!! shes fucking powerless, everything keeps reminding her of that. all she can do is damage control. but how can u do that when u dont do it to urself? she doesnt know how to mend herself without admitting shes been broken. she doesnt know how to comfort her children because she doesnt know how that looks like. shes flying blind, and shes trying, and she cannot tell between right or wrong anymore.

she IS losing herself, thats the point!!! shes tried to do everything in her power to not let aegon die even tho shes already grieved him to hell n back the second he was made king. she tries to honor viserys, the man that ruined her under the hand of the other man who ruined her (her father), because what else can she do as a wife but honor him in his death? n then to know she didnt even do that right, it was a misunderstanding.

after that scene alicent is truly truly lost. they were close to peace before, she threw that away (it was always going to be thrown away but she blames herself all the same), thinking it was the right thing to do even when she was dooming them all, and then it was for nothing. THATS THE POINT!!! IT WAS ALL FOR NOTHING!!!! THE POINT OF WAR IS THAT THERE IS NO POINT!!! ITS JUST DEATH AND GRIEF AND BLOOD. THERE IS NO VICTORY. THERE ARE NO HEROES. THATS THE POINT!!!!!!

she even fucking says it to the maester in ep 7, so clearly, and somehow yall still miss it. they were always doomed from the start. the second her father pimped her out to viserys, she was always going to live in pain and grief and numbness and madness. always.

she does what shes used to, damage control. she tries to save her daughter halaena, what else does she have? her other son, aemond? the one who is so sure he has this great big heroic task of winning this war by blood and fire, so blinded by his rage his bruised ego his pain and suffering and lack of love that he's turned into the scariest things in alicents eyes, a kinslayer; she knows that if they become too much trouble to him, he'll kill them. Halaena says so. he teases it when he removes Alicent from court. He's telling her "i know u want me to do things ure way. i do not want that. i dont want ur gentle ways, i think ure foolish for caring for the enemy, we need them dead, damn the consequences. do not come between me and my goal again. leave." and she understood that. when he turned his attention to halaena u can see so clearly alicent is terrified: hes going to kill my daughter. shes already set on leaving, so she says everything she can to aemonds face head on. she still sees her son there, she doesnt want him gone into the dark and blood and fire that she sees him walking head on into. she tells him "i know what u are. what u want. it is foolish. youll damn this whole family to death with this." and aemond cannot see that cuz he truly thinks hes in the right.

its why that last scene hurts so much. alicent is so fucking lost. she doesnt want any of her children to die and yet she knows they will. even if never went to rhaenyra, aegon is easy dead meat in his state. she knows this. if she continues there n lets halaena stay she knows aemond will make her fight and die n she cannot bear that either. she cannot have her daughter suffer her own fate while under war. she does not want that.

she doesnt sacrifice aegon cuz she wants him dead: he is dead either way. she didnt go to rhaenyra thinking she would make her choose that. and in the end she chose for her son to die because she cannot do anything else. he is always going to die. at least this way she can try and prevent complete n utter bloodshed (and it is all for nothing, there will always be war, she never has any power but at least shes accepted that. she knows nothing she does influence much. she just wants to take her lil girl and her own lil girl and run far far away from death).

there are no heroes or villains in war, only casualties. thats the point. thats the whole point. they are all casualties. theres no point to any of it cuz every player is dead the second they were born. thats tragedy. thats war. thats the show.

right so at ur work it’s real common to have military folk there bc it is a military town, close to base, training facilities etc. 

first visit was just to the bar section of the place. price thought it would be good for moral to go out and have some chill team time, watch a football match and just hang out.

soap ordered some food and you brought it over to them. simon did not notice you bc he was watching the game, but then he got a whiff of soaps food and decided to grab something.

cue you coming back over with your sweet smile and handing him his food and cutlery before wandering back to the resturant bc its a quiet night.

second time ghost comes in it’s at night again but the restaurant is slammed bc it’s family week, everyone is getting dinner the night before they gotta head home. 

lbr, simon didnt think about you until soap wanted to go out again: "where are we goin'" "that place with the pretty server", knows exactly where they are going.

but still, your smile and warmth towards everyone is so kind and customer service is through the roof. yet he watches as you race around in and out of the kitchen with crazy ease and grace

like dude is impressed at you staying calm and steady despite how fuckin busy it is and people with their insane requests and demands for food (inpatient pricks)

he wants to stick around and watch u but it has become way to loud and busy for him so he bows out and goes back to his quiet room

ngl he would find it hot watching you manage several orders and memorising different peoples requirements, all while keeping that sweet smile and polite manner

he doesn’t do a lot of the talking, only when you really prompt him or he is feeling a bit more extroverted that day. Doesn’t wanna talk about military shit with you but that’s all he does so he prefers to listen to you.

knows all the drama and gossip of the restaurant. glad to hear you are not dating the guy behind the bar and that you also don't like the receptionist because he perfume is to strong.

he will hang around and wait for it to die down to be able to talk to you. if it gets too loud for him he might just try and see you at the till as he leaves but has pushed through once or twice to talk to you.

something about you makes him feel more real, that he isn’t just some shell of a man, that he has a purpose. he likes that you treat him normally, the fresh slate you give him is like clean evening air.

ANYWAY it would take him ages to ask you out, like more than six/ seven months, and he would be so nervous (not to the point of stuttering or shaking bc this man is military he has been in worse situations, but his heart would be running a marathon and the self doubt would be just as loud)

but also protective ghost omgggg, he would be seething watching the old men be creepy and shit

knife and fork are down and he is up behind these men leering over them “excuse me, I just have a question about my meal.” just would say anything to get you out of that situation and back over to him. Or would just stand by the register staring down these men (this happens a lot more often than simon would like to admit)

always checks in when he is leaving to make sure he didn’t over step or make you uncomfortable by accident

and u show him more of you and The Lost Neurotic Puppy factor has just gone throught the roof. cornered prey AND homesick dog. and he finds out the other part of the plan. and he HATES that hes NOT gonna do that... but he keeps hedging whether hes gonna run away now. while reaffirm his commitment to 'helping temporarily'.

I almost hate how much i switched teams from 2718 to abacus, but its just bc he's new and shiny and pretty and pushy. He stifles autonomy so i know 2817 is better in the long run bc u can reason w him and he puts mcs best interests first. and i just...didn’t engage really. i wasn’t gonna list all the reasons. i already did that when we broke up and he demanded answers. i told him that i didn’t feel the connection anymore. and i already know im hurting his feelings AGAIN. eventually i just said “i’m happier single.” and he was like “oh? so i won’t see you dating someone in six months?” and i was like “probably not?? but idk?” he also brought up an old interaciton we had waaay back in march and tried to gaslight me by saying i got defensive during it, but i literally wrote that interaction down beat by beat so i remember how it went because it made me feel so uncomfortable and was my first serious red flag. >:( you cannot trick me! 

we managed to end the conversation and i stayed firm within my boundaries even tho he looked sad/was tearing up and kept asking me for reasons (idk why being unhappy in the relationship isn’t a reason enough for him??) a few hours after i got home, he texted me and was like “Was everything you said earlier true? No lying to save my feelings?” and i texted him back and was like “Yeah, it was all true.” idk how i could’ve been any clearer. i think he just dislikes hearing things he doesn’t want to hear. (omg also he brought up bell hooks--someone i introduced him to!--and was like “are you just chasing the next high?” and i was like “??? idk ??” )

my friends keep telling me he was emotionally manipulative, but it’s hard for me to see it. maybe in time i will be able to. but again--im just proud of myself for not “cowering” and changing my mind because i’ve got a person in front of me who i do care about --and who is sad--who i could make happy by doing what he wants.

but that is no life worth living. i live for myself. for my own happiness. and i was not happy in the relationship. you don’t need any other reason to leave-- if you’re unhappy, you can just go. it’s fine. i think that’ll be the big lesson i takeaway from this whole debacle.

Not me on my 3rd acc. Tho yall really help me stay clean. My partner started back in Novemberish maybe sooner. Right after our 4 y anniversary. And then she just dropped it on me. She knew i was trying to stay clean for her and i was doing such a good job. I only thought about it and would scroll here to "get my fix" its an addiction and i dont think ppl realize that. She brought my favorite drvgs into the house and hid it from me for months. Tho she doesnt even know i have a tumblr. Shes starting therapy now finally. And me too. I have an appt next week. I havent been since i was 12. Im scared. I dont trust therapists. I wish i could just cvt head to toe. All over everywhere. Id be exactly how i wanna be. I want this. But i cant. Gotta be around for my partner. Even tho she didnt want to for me. I told her if she wanted we could together but that we wouldnt be same ever again. I wish shed said yes but thats just jack. Someone correctly noted taking Stede as ‘teaching’ Ed to be soft or groomed is some colonizer shit but that got me thinking. What do u make of the dress up and pretty hairdo and shit then?

The answer is really simple and i think ppl who latched on to the soap eating joke inadvertently took that to a white gaze point (im white, and i do believe the majority of ppl arent trying to be harmful whether they run with such ideas or not).

Ed doesnt need permission from a person to do xyz or be saved. I mean hes fuckin blackbeard he has enough riches and power he can do whatever. But with Stede what he gets is basically permission to be ‘soft’ and/or weird.

Izzy was always yelling those tendencies out of him (hes half fuckin out of his mind most of the time) and if his enemies see it, hes likely to be killed (badminton saying stede brought history’s greatest pirate to ruin).

Stede is just playing pirate, never had friends. Now he has his crew who is knewly fond of him, and Ed who is fucking enchanted by his ways. Ed wants to go to a posh knobs party and play dress up? Stede is all in (even tho he hates those parties)! Want 7 sugars in ur tea (which cost and difficulty obtaining wise was like 3 iphones back then)? Stede not only approves he remembers it.

In fact there are only 2 times one of them is extremely against something but does it for the other (treasure hunt and blind mans cove). And that foreshadows doom but not for them (had the british not come theyd totally fuck that night).

And so Stede not showing up (albeit against his will) for another weird thing is why Ed is heartbroken…and he finally snaps when hes told again hes not allowed to be soft like this (namby pamby in a silk dressing gown).

I still love fan fics etc that have Stede pampering Ed cuz he deserves it out of love, not white superiority. So just something to keep in mind

I'm not suggesting there's a winner or an outcome. I'm simply outlining that it's normal for a community to keep discussing things that we disagree on. You might not see the reason why a topic gets brought up because you personally don't care, but others do and have good reason to. Maybe Be the Change and encourage new topics to talk about. But if we agree on whatever you bring up don't expect it to take up as much time as the more controversial topics. It's the same in politics. Politicians debate hot topics, and it's repetitive and annoying. Families go through particular issues and will ruminate on them because it's on people's minds, it's a source of conflict. Motherhood, het relationships and separatism will always be a source of controversy under radical feminism and the topics will never go away. New women come to the movement every day and want to discuss it after seeing an old post. They all revolve around the same issue: Is expecting radical feminists to be radical IRL, when they can be, a problem? How far can the movement go when we enable helplessness and doomer thinking? How seriously can radical feminism be taken when we have women walking around claiming to be one while doing absolutely everything patriarchy expects? In the second wave, women divorced their husbands and kicked habits/routines conditioned by patriarchy. Coincidentally, that's also when radical feminism made a change in the world. We can't even say it's feminist to centre women in your life and avoid relationships with men on radblr or else it's "misogynistic." Come on. Questioning or critiquing gender conformity isn't allowed because it's "misogynistic." It's laughable to not expect "radical" women to do radical things. The movement is being weighed down by inaction encouraged by those refusing to change a thing in their lives.

okay perhaps i wasnt clear so allow me to emphasise. i agree that people can & should talk thru disagreements and differing ideas. but i think the way radblr goes about it makes “overkill” an understatement. at a certain point we just have to accept that everyone has their mind made up and simply move on instead of pushing a debate in which every possible thing to say has already been said. the horse is not only dead, it’s beyond decomposed. like i do agree with u, many ppl do not live by their morals on here and many claim to be radfems but clearly simply by virtue of their lifestyle, they are not. instead of us just stating that n leaving it at that tho, people go through these meaningless tiresome back & forths where they keep talking at each other. at a certain point, all that can be said & needs to be said has been said and we need to simply move on. otherwise we are literally wasting everyone’s time & efforts going in circles when we literally have so many things to discuss! on one hand i get the frustration that a woman who does absolutely nothing radical is calling herself a radfem, on the other i also get feeling disillusioned by that being treated like the world’s worst crime that warrants comments like “lol don’t run to us if he ends up beating u!!” (which unfortunately i’ve seen several ppl make here). it doesn’t encourage women to take radical action and simply ends up making the women Not doing so feel attacked and hate the movement, so like. again who is it even helping?? the approach is simply wrong & at a certain point ppl need to just. agree to disagree. like, if someone makes the 900th “lmao a radfem wouldn’t fuck men so take that word out of ur mouth” it won’t suddenly change anything, if a woman whines about how separatism is heterophobic it won’t change anything either. all it does is cause infighting and people to be defensive and i wish people would simply move on & be normal about it. and perhaps have a new discussion that we don’t have 8 times per year
