Controversial? opinion but I actually really like Astarion's chaste little kiss, because it isn't a performance. It isn't at all the way he would've kissed you in Act 1. And yeah it doesn't have lingering touches like Karlach's kiss animation or extreme passion like Halsin's, but it feels true for him. It feels real.

It's quick and sweet, maybe a little uncomfortable or uncertain. He approaches Tav and takes the lead, which I love, but he's still figuring this all out. It's so new. He's in the process of defining his boundaries, what he wants and needs physically+emotionally in a relationship. The kiss is intimate but there's space too, and that's okay.

Sure, logically Gabriel knows the Ferryman isn't fragile and is freakishly mobile since they have no pesky organs and muscle in the way of movement. But they just. Like being treated tenderly. And Gabriel thrives off being sappy with his partners, so this is a way to be sappy with Ferryman: holding them oh so gently in his arms like a chicken

V1, however, does not care much how it's handled because it regularly climbs onto Gabriel's head when it's inconvenient for him and risks getting thrown off at high speeds and wouldn't care if he tried to do the same, and it is the sturdiest thing in Hell. I like to think V1 typically hates having its head (and back/wings) touched, so it is a sign of great trust that it lets him just grab it; it trusts that he wouldn't damage it outside of their sparring sessions, even if it might jump on reflex. And it likes getting yoinked up and swung around, very enriching!

I don't think it was necessary to make Thor a main character in a Loki show, the same way it WOULD be possible to throw together a Thor movie without having Loki be a main focus.

The issue comes in the quality of the narrative itself, and writing that if evidently without intention to care for (whichever) main character's importance will not work out. Neither the Loki series nor Thor 4 cared about the arc, motivations, history, or continuity of the titular characters beyond trying to make the media marketable.

Overall messaging can add a layer to the impact a story will have. Musical score can be a bonus way to control tone or tie a story together. Supporting cast can be vital to tell a good story. Prioritising their presence over anyone's (especially Loki's) characterisation is what the Loki series suffered from, not that other, original-adjacent characters were there.
