Hi Toasty! Forgive an older person for asking an overly simple question, but I've been struggling to look this up on your blog. Have you ever done any stats on chapter length/number and kudos/hits? I understand that adding another variable aside from ratings may make things too complicated, but I found myself wondering how that might relate to your previous results.
I haven't looked much at chapters rather than overall fanwork length, so I probably don't have exactly what you're after. But perhaps someone who reads my blog will have done relevant analyses looking at length/rating/popularity, and they can reply with links to their work!
(Also, no apologies needed at all; my fandom stats are not all that easy to search through when it comes to some topics -- even I have trouble sometimes. :) )
Here are my most relevant bits of data analysis & meta:
Do longer fanworks get more hits on AO3? - Back in 2013, I found that multi-chapter works got more hits on average than single-chapter works... but then I dug in further and found that actually, the underlying effect was that LONGER works got more hits than shorter works, regardless of whether they have one chapter or multiple chapters. (Because multi-chapter works tend to have a higher word count than single-chapter ones, they appear to get more hits on average. But once you control for word count, that difference goes away.) Caveats: I haven't checked this again since 2013. And I didn't break down "multi-chapter" by actual number of chapters.
Ratings on AO3: how do they relate to popularity and word count? - I was once again looking at this back in 2013. At the time, I found that the higher the rating, the more hits and kudos a work gets. However, this is partly because the more explicit the fanworks, the longer it tends to be -- and as we saw above, longer works get more hits on average. Once you compare works of equal length, there is a smaller correlation between ratings and kudos, and it mostly is driven by longer works (10K+ words). Although "Explicit" fanworks get substantially more hits/kudos on average than the other ratings, for every word count. Caveats: here I wasn't looking at number of chapters at all -- just word count. Also, like I said, not updated since 2013.
Also, just in case you meant "have you looked at the rate of kudos per hits" rather than "have you looked at either kudos or hits" -- I talk in How can you tell if a fanwork is popular on AO3? about many reasons why kudos/hits is an unreliable metric of popularity.
I also have a few other analyses looking at how hits and kudos relate to other things in my Popularity Metrics collection. One takeaway from this series is that both the fandom you're in and the platform you're posting fanworks to (e.g., AO3, FFNet, Wattpad) make a BIG difference to the average amount of reader response. Another takeaway is that the majority of fanworks don't get very much reader response (hits, kudos, comments) at all. That's not unique to AO3, though -- anywhere that people post a ton of content, there is likely to be a whole bunch of stuff that very few people have discovered yet. (There are some fandom challenges encouraging folks to seek out and leave feedback for such undiscovered fanworks, which I think is lovely.)
Hope some of this helps a bit -- and as I said, I hope others will chip in with related works!

✨Writing Interview Tag Game✨
Thank you for the tag @astarionancuntnin! 💕
When did you start writing?
Wrote my first story when I was 16 (original fantasy stuff that was just random scenes that I kept dreaming up when I listened to my sad girl music.) Then I started reading fanfiction and decided to have a go at writing fanfic when I was about 20. Was quite active in a couple of fandoms but gave it up when I was 25. And then BG3 happened and now I'm in my early 30s and having a great time writing fanfiction again!
Are there different themes or genres you enjoy reading than what you write?
I love reading all sorts, drama, horror (but not dumb 'everyone dies just because' stuff), mystery, romance.
And I will write most things, not straight up gore though.
Is there a writer you want to emulate or get compared to often?
I used to try to be 'clever' with my writing until I realised that you have to be clever for that. 😁😂 I just stick to slightly quirky, light-hearted stuff with some angst thrown in.
So no, I don't think I get compared to any writers. 🙂
Can you tell me a bit about your writing space?
I mostly write on my laptop wherever I am at the time. At work during breaks, at home on the sofa (nestled between my dog and my cat), pretty much anywhere.
I have enough books in my apartment to sink a battleship (according to my grandmother), so I suppose the whole place has a bit of a 'library' feel. So, in a way my writing space is a library.
What's your most effective way to muster up a muse?
Dreaming up stuff before I fall asleep. I overfixate when I listen to music and replay the same scene over and over. Daydreaming helps me write dialogue and get a general out line, and THEN I will listen to the same ten songs on repeat. 😁
Are there any recurring themes in your writing? Do they surprise you?
Cute fluff stuff. My last relationship was toxic and ended awfully, and just want to write about romantic tooth-rotting fluff. What can I say, I love love.
What is your reason for writing?
I work two jobs and very long hours, so just want to do something for myself. And I enjoy writing. Though sometimes I hate it too! Like when words are really not wording and I have to abandon something for a while before getting back into it.
Is there any specific comment or type of comment you find particularly motivating?
I love all comments, although of course ones that go into detail about which parts readers liked are the best! Feedback is crucial. I realise that my writing is definitely not the best out there (I'm working on improving it!), but if readers find the story moving and enjoy the way I portray their favourite characters and tell me, it honestly makes me tear up sometimes.
How do you want to be thought about by your readers?
I'm not sure exactly how to answer this tbh. 🙂 Approachable, respectful, friendly. I am not sure that this is exactly how I am come across, but I hope that everyone feels that they can send me a message/ask and not feel silly for it. I love chatting and doing challenges and things. If you sent me something and I did not respond, I'm either working on it or Tumbl didn't tag me properly.
What do you feel is your greatest strength as a writer?
Dialogue, at least this is the part that I enjoy writing. The banter between Astarion and other characters especially.
How do you feel about your own writing?
I feel dumb when I make dumb mistakes and notice them after posting. I try to spot them by reading out loud.
But I do love my stories because I love the characters. When I finished my first run of BG3 I immediately started writing. What a wonderful game to have inspired so many creatives!
I adore works by many writers, like Maugham (especially 'Theatre'), anything by Bradbury, Tolkien (of course), Maupassant etc. I cried when I read Gail Honeyman 'Eleanor Oliphant is Completely Fine'. But I don't think that I would ever try to write in their styles. Not for any particular reason, I just write better when I don't try to 'reach for the Moon', because then I just get upset that my writing is crap in comparison.
When you write, are you influenced by what others might enjoy reading, or do you write purely for yourself, or a mix of both?
Both, that's for sure. I write stuff and find it delightful and funny, and then remember that I find oddest things funny. And then I think, is this weird? Ah well, we ball!

Watermelon Sugar.
It's clear to Jeon Jungkook — you consider him the bane of your existence but boy he'd do anything to have a taste even if it means possibly getting caught in your university building's library and have both of you expelled.
Word count? 2K
Genre? Smut, porn without plot, enemies to friends w/ benefits to lovers (Fem. College Student Reader x Fuckboy Jungkook)
Contents and/or warnings? Public (library) sex, explicit language, vaginal fingering, oral (f. receiving), a bit of face fucking, cum eating, spitting
Author's note? Just in case anyone's wondering and found this rather familiar, this was previously posted in my old account. I added a few stuff here and there but nothing much changed. For those who haven't read this one, hope you guys like it. Also, would you guys want a second part? Let me know by sending an ask, I'd appreciate your feedback and such.
"Do it," you challenge the guy in front of you, crossing your arms. "I dare you."
It’s supposed to be a typical Friday afternoon. After classes, you’d spend an hour or so at the college library to finish some assignments, look through the thousands of books, mind your own business at the quiet halls then head straight home. Getting sidetracked by human interactions is the least of your worries, knowing that all of your closest friends attend different colleges — hence, you barely spend time outside the privacy of your room besides the college building. You should be fine in your second year... right?
The answer's probably not.
Because Jeon Jungkook decided to ruin your daily routine by starting an argument over your love for space exploration —that he believes is an utter bullshit— much to your chagrin. His whole conceited demeanor changed when he takes notice of the lip balm you’ve had clenched in your fist, an idea coming up to his mind.
"Don’t mind if I do," a smirk appears on his face, taking a few steps closer to you.
Of course, you’ve seen it coming — the expression on his face and his body language says it all. But it’s all so sudden when he grabs you by the hips, pulling you closer to him. The lip balm in your hand drops to the floor and is completely forgotten as he grabs your chin, closing the gap between the two of you. Your heart starts pounding whilst he keeps his eyes on you. You can barely form coherent thoughts, your main focus is on his lips — hoping he’d get the signal to kiss you.
Thinking that he isn't going to do anything unless you do the first move, you throw your last bit of shame out of the window and take his hand onto your lips before kissing his knuckles. Trailing kisses on his palm then onto the back of his hand, you hear a hum of approval. In an effort to seduce him —as if what you’re doing isn’t enough— you take one of his fingers and start sucking it into your mouth, looking straight at him.
Jungkook swallows the lump in his throat before planting a kiss on the slope of your neck. Coincidence or not, he’s hit the specific spot. It’s enough for your breath to hitch in your throat. You hastily drag his hand down to lift your skirt up a bit. You feel his lips smirk against your neck when his hand’s finally underneath your underwear, stroking your wet pussy.
Just when you think it’s finally happening, he almost immediately pulls his hand away from where you need him the most and leans his forehead onto yours.  "Are you sure you want this? That you won't regret doing this?"
What he does next surprises you — he brushes your hair away from your eyes before kissing your forehead. "Tell me, Y/N. Do you really want this?"
It's what your closest friends would call "the bare minimum" but coming from Jungkook, it's enough send butterflies in your stomach — as cringe-y as it sounds.
Whatever happened to the annoying person who confidently said they want a taste of your lips?
"Just do what you have to do," you breathe out, almost sounding like a whimper.
You hear him chuckle. "You're so fucking cute and needy for me, huh?"
He doesn’t give you that much time to think of a comeback, pressing his lips against yours. Your back hits the bookshelf behind you as you fold your arms around his neck, combing your fingers through his hair. You feel the hand on your neck cradle the back of your head, pulling you as close as possible. His smooth tongue toys with your lips, invading your mouth as you sear each other with hot, passionate kisses.
"Your lips taste so fucking good," he says in between kisses.
Soft moans escape from both of your lips, filling the quiet corner of the library.  "Want me to eat you out? Make you feel good?"
He doesn’t even let you answer as he already knows what it is, capturing your lips again with his.
You pull away from the kiss. "Jeon, we can’t do this here."
"Where do you want to do this then?" he asks you, caressing your waist and you can’t help but admire the tattoos on his arm. You may dislike him but he's a lot of things other than the fact that he's fucked loads of people — one being he's a tattoo artist and apparently, he really is passionate about it.
"Y/N, baby. Where do you want to do this?" Jungkook asks again, snapping you out of your thoughts. "I'm not going to do anything unless you're comfortable."
Your dorm room? Definitely not, he’s going to get himself kicked out before he can take one step inside. Restroom? No way in hell you’re going to enter the men’s restroom nor let him enter the women’s restroom. An empty classroom? You doubt there’s a single one that’s unlocked. Running out of options, you decide to take the risk.
"Fuck it, let’s just do it here."
Jungkook kneels down, looking up at you. "You have to be quiet though."
You scoff. "I find it quite an easy task— shit!"
Almost immediately, you cover your mouth with your hand when he presses a gentle kiss on your clothed pussy. His hands have found their way on your bare thighs, thumb brushing against your skin. You shift above him, feeling the anticipation of having his tongue against your core coming in.
He senses your impatience, a mischievous grin sliding onto his lips. "So you’re saying?"
"Asshole," you mutter to yourself. "Can't you shut up and just do it?"
"I’m doing you a favor here—
Before he can even finish his sentence, you’ve already knitted your fingers in his hair to tug him towards where you need him the most. "For goodness sake — just shut up, Jeon."
You try to look around to make sure no one’s suspicious of the noise you two have been making. Luckily, you’re in the Reference Section of the library that barely anyone walks through. It’s a perfect spot for people like you who can’t contain their hormones.
Jungkook doesn’t give you much time to think as he cups your heat with his hand to feel your wetness soaking through the fabric. You bite into your finger to suppress further noises escape your lips, watching him slide his fingers into the waistband of your underwear to pull it down onto the ground. You mindlessly spread your legs for him.
He looks up at you, a cocky smile plastered on his face. "You’re already this wet?"
Not wanting to hear another word from you, he starts teasingly sliding his two fingers up and down your slit. It’s enough to make you shudder, the feeling of his fingers’ already too much for you. You feel one of his fingers poke your entrance but before you can signal him to move, he finally pushes it inside you as his mouth starts working on your clit.
"Put one more," you manage to breathe out as you tug on his hair harder, your face and neck already covered with light layers of sweat.
You feel his lips smirk against your wet core before he slowly pushes another finger in, making you gasp loudly. He abruptly stops his movements, looking up at you. He’s never seen you this flustered, chest rising and falling with your pussy all wet and glistening for him. Usually, you’d have this stern look on your face before he can even say a word to you.
"I thought shutting up is an easy task for you?"
As much as you want to slap that stupid grin away from his face, you’re too preoccupied to even bother think about a comeback. Slowly thrusting his fingers in and out, you arch your back from the shelf while holding on to his hair.
"Do you want it faster, Y/N?" he asks, before licking a bold stripe from your entrance up to your clit.
He expects you not to give in that easily but you nod, whimpering at the sensation. "Please Jeon, just please."
"Well, that was easy," he teases before he starts fucking your hole faster with his fingers, producing lewd and wet noises.
You watch him as he flicks his warm tongue against your clit before sucking it, curling his fingers inside of you at the same time. Pushing him closer to your dripping pussy, you lift one of your legs to rest your foot on his shoulder for support. He would’ve been annoyed at you for laying your dirty shoe on his white polo but this position’s giving him more room for his tongue so who’s he to complain?
"Jungkook— fuck," you pant.
He smirks against your core, loving the fact that he’s making you feel good enough for you to call him by his name. Not Jeon. Not even asshole nor jerk. You called him Jungkook.
"You like that, Y/N?" he moans against your pussy, the vibration making your insides turn from the immense pleasure. He keeps the drilling pace of your pussy, feeling you clench around his fingers to signal your high. Not to keep you waiting, he continues to wrap his lips around your clit — sucking on it while flicking his tongue around with no intention of stopping.
It doesn’t take that long for you to feel your body giving up on you, legs shaking from pleasure as your head falls back.
"Are you gonna come for me, baby?" he presses his thumb on your clit, rubbing it roughly as you start rocking your hips against him.
You can only moan in response, forgetting about the fact that you're inside the university library where anyone can hear you. "That’s right, come for me."
As much as you want to slap that smirk out of his face when he called you by a pet name (that you hate, if you may add), you badly need to come.
"Holy shit," you drag out as you spill everything on his fingers and mouth.
Jungkook doesn’t waste time to stand up, keeping your juices inside his mouth. Cupping your cheeks, you almost immediately knew what he’s going to do. You part your lips open as he spits your cum into your mouth, not letting a single drop spill down your chin. "You’re so fucking hot."
If both of you weren't in such a risky situation that could get both of you expelled if he doesn't do it quick, he would’ve taken his precious time to look at your fucked out expression but he needs more. He wants more. Just as he’s about to unbuckle his belt, you’ve already pulled up your underwear before you start wiping your sweat off with the back of your hands.
He furrows his eyebrows in confusion, placing his hands on the sides of his waist. "You’re leaving?"
"Yeah," you casually say as if the person that you believe you dislike so much didn't eat you out. You grab your backpack from the ground, slinging it onto your shoulder. "Do you have a problem with that?"
He looks at you in disbelief, pointing at the obvious bulge on his pants. "You’re going to leave me with this?"
"You can handle it on your own, can’t you?" A cheeky smile escapes your lips.
Turning around to walk away from the clearly disappointed Jungkook, you suddenly hear him call out to your name. "Not even a helping hand?"
You stop in your tracks to face him again. "I’m not the type to return a favor, Jeon." And now you’re back with the last name basis.
"You’ve had your taste, that’s all you’re going to get."
Jungkook can only smile to himself. He'd be lying if he says he didn't think it would end up this way — he wouldn't be bothering you if you were an easy catch. Poking the side of his cheek with his tongue, he thinks of another way to annoy the hell out of you. He sure is the bane of your existence but one thing's for sure — you'll be coming back for more.

Hello hello lovelies! I hope everyone is having a good week so far. This post will be kind of long (sort of) as it will contain some updates and whatnot so check below the cut!
First and foremost welcome to my new followers! I’m glad that me and my sims interest you enough that you hit that follow button lol 🤣 I hope I can keep you all interested in my upcoming content and previous content. ☺️
NOW! let’s get down to business. I’d like to first apologize for the lack of posting. Before, I was posting several times a day. During that time, I was out of a job so I had A LOT of free time however, I now have TWO jobs and I’m also a single mom to 2. I just wanted to clarify that for my new peeps. With that being said, my time is VERY limited. The only time I really get to play is on the weekends and usually it’s late night. So my posts will usually be done pretty late but at least you all will have something to look forward to when you wake up! ☺️ Or if you reside in a different time zone, you’ll have something to look forward to during your lunch break, or when you get home etc.
I post mostly pictures of sims I create because I LIVE in CAS 🤣 I was a Barbie lover as a child and had TONS of Barbie stuff and LOVED to play dress up. So being in CAS is like playing Barbie to me (adult style) lol. However, I do posts random shots of my gameplay from time to time.
If you couldn’t tell, I have a story in the works called Forever in San Myshuno. It will be based around 4 women who are best friends who go throughout their early adulthood and of course there will be DRAMA. I was a huge fan of the show Friends and so I was kind of inspired to make a story of that caliber. I really want to execute the first episode of that story really well so I’ve been taking my time and preparing for it hence why it’s taking quite a while for the first post. I have to give you storytellers props because it’s A LOT of work trying to get everything set up like jobs, and placing lots and finding everything that’s needed. But I am REALLY excited to share the first post.
SO with that being said as well, the first episode to Forever in San Myshuno will be out on Saturday, 9/16/23!
SPREAD THE WORD! ITS FINALLY HAPPENING!! 👏🏾👏🏾
Yes! It is FINALLY happening! I will spend the better part of Friday night taking screenshots and editing and everything in between and the first post will be live on Saturday! Again, I post late night since I’m usually busy with my kids during the day so expect that first episode to be out late Saturday night. I’m REALLY excited as I have wanted nothing more than to finally play and get this first episode out! And though I haven’t played with them, I’m growing an attachment to my main OC’s.
I hope you all will enjoy the first episode and know that I am NOT a pro with editing and whatnot and I’m still trying to find my “style” of storytelling so I will be asking for feedback as I want it to be easier for you all to read whether it be on mobile or desktop or any other device.
I will also try and post shots of the characters apartments along with the gallery ID of the creators. I want to try and do that BEFORE the first episode but if not then it will be a bit after the first episode.
As for other gameplay screenshots, I will DEFINITELY be posting some of those as well. I have a couple of challenges that I’ve been playing that I’d like to keep playing such as the Joy of Life Legacy Challenge and the Not So Berry challenge (for the 100th time 🙄🤣). I also do have a YouTube channel and will be working towards getting the right equipment and set up so I can do LP videos for you all and maybe some CAS videos (something I REALLY have been wanting to do for a LONG time). But again, everything is a work in progress.
Ok so this post IS lengthy but I promise that’s all the news I have for now! Hope you all enjoy the rest of your week and I will see you Saturday! Stay tuned and Happy Simming! 🥰

Heyo! We've done six of these so far and it's been fun running this little game for yall. I hope its entertaining for you!
Now that we've got some under our belts I wanted to open up for feedback on a few different points. Im going to go over how ive done stuff so far, so if you have any thoughts on aspects of it you can chime in.
Putting the rest under the cut since it's kind of long.
1. Timing
So far I've tried to post new ones at sort of random times in the day so it doesn't give any one a consistent advantage. Im US Eastern and posts might go up anytime between 8am and 2am. I might even use the queue to schedule round the clock.
Another timing thing is that when someone guesses right, I give at least a few hours more before posting the reveal. It's just to give people a little more time to play, even if someone gets the answer right away. That's not to say you cant play after the reveal posts go up, but if youre anything like me, as soon as the ability to see the answer is available im clicking that link lol.
And since the reveal post tags the winner, I wait at least a few more hours for the next silhouette post so the prev winner doesnt have the advantage of being notified of the next one.
So a question here is should I wait longer or shorter on any of these areas? Do you like that its only one unrevealed at a time?
2. Difficulty level
This has been the hardest because it's a learning curve to find what's easy, what's hard, and why. There are SO many characters and runs, so it's hard to know if something I thought was memorable was even a blip on other people's radars. So ive tried to do a mix of difficulties.
Easier ones mean more people have the satisfaction of guessing and maybe getting it right, but if it's too easy then it might feel like these are puzzles for babies.
Harder ones mean a challenge and a lot of satisfaction if you figure it out or know that it's some niche thing. But if it's too hard then nobody gets it and it can feel kind of bullshit.
So what im wondering here is, do you feel like these have been too easy or too hard? Do you like it being a mix?
3. Character and image selection
If I put up a straightforward silhouette of Etrigan, everyone's going to get it and there's no challenge. On the flip side if i did a silhoutte or jason blood standing in a contextless room its like that could be literally any random man, so itd lead to random guesses. So ive been trying to find the sweet spot of the silhouette being somewhat familiar but not completely unique, and the rest of the image with some stuff going on. I think that's been going well but it does mean it relies on me and my ability to make a good little puzzle of it. So i hope I've been doing an alright job in that area.
Choosing from particular runs is interesting. I usually think of a character first then go find something they were in. Im finding the stories with other characters and team ups are good options to provide that extra context. But then the tricky part is that i have to be at least somewhat aware of whats popular and whats not. I dont want to use a panel from a run nobody read (unless its really good), and I also dont want to do one so infamous that everyone knows it like the back of their hand. So as with choosing particular images, I hope my choice of titles I'm sourcing these from has been fair.
4. How to guess
I went with tags so it encourages people to reblog and hopefully spread awareness of the blog. I think its also the easiest way people are inclined to interact per post. We couldve done asks but sometimes those get dropped by tumblr, and all the reveal posts would be answers to asks instead of standalone posts.
I like the idea that even for old ones people can still play and have fun with guessing on their own. Not sure if theres a clever way to encourage that.
And i hope the leaderboard is fun. Just a small incentive to participate. Its like saying nice job, thank you for playing.
5. Hints
As mentioned previously, if over a day goes by and nobodys got it ill post a hint. I've only done one hint so far and i was really not sure how subtle or overt i should be. Idk if anyone has thoughts about it?
--
So that's it. That's the process behind things and kind of where my mind is on it. I want it to be fun and chill, so if you ever have feedback about something you can always send an ask. It can be about the topics here or really at anytime about anything.
Thanks for playing everyone! Keep it up!

✨ 2022 Writing Year In Review ✨
Thanks to @feeisamarshmallow for tagging me!
1. Number of stories posted to AO3: 12
2. Word count posted for the year: 299,454
3. Fandoms I wrote for: Criminal Minds
4. Pairings: Luke Alvez/Spencer Reid, Aaron Hotchner/Spencer Reid, lots of friendship stuff between the team
5. Story with the most:
Kudos: A Collection of Blurbs Featuring Autistic Spencer Reid with 844
Bookmarks: Also A Collection of Blurbs Featuring Autistic Spencer Reid with 242
Comments: bau super seven loving-reid-a-thon with 159 comment threads
6. Work I’m most proud of (and why):
to seek and to find the narrow way. it's so personal and i was so nervous to post it because of the religious themes but i'm really pleased with how it turned out and i've gotten some amazing feedback <3
7. Work I’m least proud of (and why):
secret storm. i'm not not proud of it! but i wrote it for a challenge and i think i rushed it a little and could've done a lot more with it if i'd given it the time it deserved.
8. Share or describe a favorite review you received:
there's one person who's been reading you don't have to be sorry for doing it on your own and leaving long, detailed comments on every single chapter. i love this person so much. every comment from them makes me cry, they quote my work and talk about what they liked and what they're looking forward to. it's a writer's dream.
9. A time when writing was really, really hard:
writing the little scenes that i have to get through to get to what i really want to be writing. it's so hard to slog through sometimes, but it's always worth it once i make it to the good part and it gets easy again.
10. A scene or character you wrote that surprised you:
an upcoming chapter of you don't have to be sorry for doing it on your own has a nightmare aftermath scene that i wasn't planning at all but i'm really into it now that i'm writing it and i'm excited to see how it affects the story as a whole. it literally came out of nowhere but i love it so, so much. also, that fic as a whole has surprised me - it started as a really long oneshot and now i'm at about 75k and only halfway done.
11. A favorite excerpt of your writing:
“Oh. Sorry.”
“What are you sorry for?” Morgan asks.
“Keeping you here. Falling asleep on you. Trauma dumping on you.”
“You didn’t trauma dump on me. I asked questions and you answered. And I don’t mind that you fell asleep on me. You clearly needed the rest.”
Spencer buries his face in his hands. “I don’t usually talk about these things.”
“I know, kid.”
“I don’t like talking about these things.”
“I know.”
“I don’t want this to change our friendship,” Spencer sighs. “I don’t want things to be weird from now on. I don’t want you to treat me differently.”
“It won’t change anything,” Morgan promises. “I won’t treat you differently.”
“I don’t want you to be worried about me all the time now.”
“Reid. I was already worried about you all the time.”
from you've got a friend
12. How did you grow as a writer this year:
i wrote a lot this year! i did a lot of sprints, and that made me really productive, and i forced myself to write even when i didn't want to. and i think that was good for me. i also have been making a conscious effort to write what i want to write and not what other people necessarily want to read, and not getting hung up on hits or kudos or comments. if i start worrying too much about what people are going to think about what i'm writing, i stop and regroup and go back to writing what i want, even if that means deleting a whole bunch of stuff.
13. How do you hope to grow next year:
i want to better balance my writing time with the rest of my life. i'm not always good at determining how much writing is enough and how much is too much, and i neglect other aspects of my life in favor of writing which isn't always healthy. i do want to continue to write for me, though. and i've started a trend of writing a chapter ahead in chapter fics so i don't get overwhelmed, and i want to keep that up because it's working really well. i also want to put more effort into brainstorming for the discord fic because i love that one and i feel like i've neglected it a little lately.
14. Who was your greatest positive influence this year as a writer (could be another writer or beta or cheerleader or muse etc etc):
chris (@domestikhighway58) and maze (@tobias-hankel) have been so supportive and encouraging and spent so much time sprinting with me and chatting with me and reading my little snippets and keeping me motivated to keep writing. they also both write amazing fics that inspire me to write, period. i am endlessly grateful to both of them.
15. Anything from your real life show up in your writing this year:
i mean, i write fanfiction to process my emotions and issues, so yes, a lot of my real life shows up in my writing. spencer's coping mechanisms are my coping mechanisms. his stims are my stims. his autistic traits are my autistic traits. i have dozens of unfinished fics in my google drive that i've used to process issues in my marriage. also, spencer's therapist in one fic is an exact copy of my favorite former therapist, all the way down to her first name.
16. Any new wisdom you can share with other writers:
write what you want to write and don't worry about what anyone else is going to think. if there's something you're dying to read and no one's written yet - write it! if you have an idea that won't leave you alone - write it! don't worry about if it's good or if other people are going to like it. you are the most important audience. just do the thing!
17. Any projects you’re looking forward to starting (or finishing) in the new year:
i'm really enjoying writing you don't have to be sorry for doing it on your own and now that i have an idea of where it's going to end up, i can't wait to get there. we're only about halfway through, so there's still a lot yet to come, and i can't wait to find out what that is, haha. Besides that, i guess we'll just see what happens. i've spontaneously written a couple of oneshots in the past few weeks and i'd like to do more of those in the future instead of always getting stuck in my long fics.
18. Tag some writers whose answers you’d like to read.

💞🦋🍉 Love you work Crys!
Thanks for the questions, Vee! 🫶🏻
💞what's the most important part of a story for you? the plot, the characters, the worldbuilding, the technical stuff (grammar etc), the figurative language
I'd say the relationship between the characters is always my first priority - my fics typically aren't the most high concept (though I have one hopefully coming this year that challenges that a bit) so they kind of live and die by if the relationship is entertaining and most importantly, believable. Something interesting (?) about my process is once I have a basic plot spark, I immediately plan the smut (and there's even been times when I have the smut idea first and then build a story to facilitate that scene). I love using sex scenes as a way to show the inner workings and complexity of a relationship and so planning the smut early on helps me determine what kind of dynamic that couple is going to have outside of the bedroom. So I guess the relationship and figuring out how to portray that via smut is most important.
🦋what are you most insecure about when you post a fic?
Um, everything? 😂 Honestly I think the thing I get the most insecure about is I'm always afraid no one will read it! I'm not typically concerned about whether or not people like it, art is subjective and I'm at the point where as long as I like the story, I'm happy with it. But still, the goal of sharing is ultimately for other people to engage, so when it feels like that's not happening, it can be kind of nerve-wracking and sometimes discouraging.
Sharing fic now is also a lot different than when I started in 2020 - 5SOS Tumblr was a lot more active but especially the writing community, I swear there was at least one fic a day being posted, if not more. Feedback was relatively instant and plentiful and the main method of delivery was via reblogs (and tags) and every reblog essentially gave the fic new life and opportunity for more feedback because it was being put on people's dashes constantly. For whatever reason, reblogs are a rarity now (for example, my latest fic has 315 notes but only 33 of those are reblogs) so the amount of feedback I receive has also greatly diminished - obviously less reblogs mean less tags but also the post is getting seen by less people because it's not being shared. So it's harder to tell if people are actually reading the stories or not because there's less conversation about them. You used to be able to tell if a story was popular because it would be inescapable the first few days after it posted because everyone was reblogging it. Now people just stuff it in their likes so it feels like a lot less of a communal experience, I guess? So that's something I've had to get used to and learn not to let that "reception" dictate whether or not I consider a fic successful or not.
🍉in what ways has writing helped you process trauma and/or navigate through your own life?
It's funny, this is something I've actually discussed in therapy before (oh are we not all talking to our therapists about our fan fic adventures? 😂). I grew up in a very conservative, religious family and while I felt like I worked hard at the time to maintain a healthy attitude towards sex, my body and my view of myself as a woman (both independently and in a relationship), a significant part of my adult life has still been spent sifting through the subconscious shame and overarching trauma that resulted from spending my formative years in such a repressive environment.
Something I particularly struggled with was fear of being judged or perceived differently if I was open about anything regarding my sexual self. I wasn't prudish by any means in my private life but basically I got too good at masking that side of myself, essentially living dual lives, that my instinct was still to publicly project manufactured purity and shame even when I didn't need to anymore.
Even when I first joined Tumblr, I was hesitant to interact with the fics I was reading because it felt embarrassing being publicly associated with sexual content. And look at me now! Known for writing thirsty tags and smutty fic 😂 In all seriousness, writing and sharing the types of stories I write, plus having open discussions about them with others (with both commenters and friends), has been an immensely healing and rewarding part of my Tumblr journey that I really did not expect but am entirely grateful for.

THIS BLOG IS BEING DECOMMISSIONED
Tumblr keeps flagging my posts without a reason so it's useless to post here. If you want to follow my stuff you can find me @zeroducks-2 . Stay handsome!
Hello there, I'm Zero - welcome to my pond! I'm ZeroDucks4 on Twitter and Zero_Ducks on AO3. You can find all my links here.
I'm currently hyperfixating on DCU/Batman fandom, specifically Sladick. What you'll find on this blog is going to be Sladick, batfamily (pseudo-incest or just wholesome), some memes and shitposting. My favorite hobbies are being gross to Dick and slutshaming that old man babygirl. I'm mostly for the classic "top Slade/bottom Dick" dynamic, but I don't mind a little bit of role reversal from time to time :) Also I like both dark/fucked up things and fluff/wholesome things, so you'll find a mix of both here.
I love all DC ships, just not equally! Almost nothing grosses me out and I don't have NOTPs, so know that you can find just about anything here, only the majority will be Sladick.
I reblog nsfw, so if you're interested, make sure you have mature content visible on Tumblr's settings or you won't see half of my posts.
If you are a minor, or you are uncomfortable with big age-gaps, rape/non-con and kinky stuff in general DNI or just block me. Just to be completely fair and clear:
I like dark stuff & I will post/reblog it
I'm queer, polyamorous, and a bitch who does their own thing & is interacting with fandom stuff cause real life sucks. It is not in my interest to directly engage with fandom discourse because I don't have the energy for it, but my stance is that if you can't make a difference between reality and fiction, and you feel the need to personally attack people who dabble in content that makes you feel uncomfortable, block me ASAP because there's a high chance you won't like what I do.
I don't bother writing out under every post the classic "I don't condone this in real life!1" because I feel it's unnecessary - I assume that who follows me has enough critical thinking skills to not need a reminder, but in case you do you can have it here: I don't condone any fucked up fandom thing in real life, this is fiction, we're just having fun. Again if you don't manage to grasp this then please kindly block me.
Last but not least - this blog really hates capitalism, terfs, swerfs, all flavors of queerphobes, ableists and exclusionists of any kind.
Again if any of the aforementioned bothers you on any level, do unfollow/block me and let's all keep conducting our peaceful existences away from each other.
If you decide to stay - feel free to send me asks, whether it's questions, art/fanfiction requests, or if you want feedback on something you wrote. I can't guarantee I'll be able to create some art/writing for you, but I really appreciate it 💚 💛 (pro-tip: if it's Sladick it's more likely that I'll do it!) You can also send me hate if that's your thing, I won't kinkshame you I promise.
I have an ongoing challenge which I call the "fluff/dark prompts challenge" for lack of a better name, and it basically goes like this: you send me a prompt, specify if you want it Sladick or Sladejay (or Sladickjay why not), and I'll write both a fluff and a dark version of said prompt :) If you wanna try your hand at this yourself feel free to do so, no need to ask for permission! Just let me know if you feel like it, so I can send you prompts too :D
I use this blog to share my fanfiction and fanart; if you're curious I'm leaving here some suggestions and personal favorites.

Normalize not finishing art challenges bc they're rlly HARD Studio Ghibli: Watercolors 🎨 (inktober 2021)
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
additional Kiki & Jiji for my bf ✨☁️
Drawing every day is doable, but making presentable work every single day is SO FRUSTRATING and it quickly becomes unenjoyable... for me at least!
I'm not ashamed to admit that I've never completed an art challenge. Okay, fine maybe a lil bit!! Can we talk about that horrible feeling of letting yourself down because you couldn't stay committed to a prompt? I've participated in a couple of inktober challenges and a 30-day project, the farthest I got was day 15, so halfway through.
I feel guilty for posting on and off but these breaks in between really do make a difference. Here are some things I learned from burnout & art block:
Take a walk when things get overwhelming
Poop out ur shitty drawings to get to the good stuff
Plan ahead!!! there's nothing wrong with a head start, or at least thumbnail/sketch it out
USE REFERENCES FOR EVERYTHING
Get a second opinion (regarding anatomy) take a step back to look at your work, flip it, & ask someone you trust for feedback
Hope this was helpful! Whenever I hop back into posting my art on social media it feels very stressful seeing the follower count fluctuate and likes begin to get lower. I have to remind myself that each post is for my development, and the OG's will always pull through with support, I appreciate you!!

Hello!! I’d like to ask ✨, 💞, 🎀 and 💎 for the fic writer game please! ☺️
Hi! Thank you so much for your ask! ☺️
✨What's a fic you've posted you wish you could breathe life into again and have people talking about it? (or simply a fic you wish got more credit)
I usually write to myself and for pairings that are not the most popular, but it's nice to have people finding joy in these stories and sharing their thoughts. I remember when the fandom was much livelier and it was such a fun posting and interacting with readers, so I'll mention two fics I wished had gotten more attention (even though the people who read them are so enthusiastic and kind to me I'm absolutely grateful for them ❤️) and I know I would love receiving more feedback and talking about the upcoming chapters and ideas for plot etc. The first one is Second Chances (Desire & Decorum Modern AU), which is one of my favorite projects ever, and I wished Elizabeth's journey and the romance with Hamid would get more attention, and the other is Safe (Wake the Dead), which was such a challenging story to write and I'm so hyped now because of The Last of Us and the parallels and I wished more people would be joining the discussions.
💞what's the most important part of a story for you? the plot, the characters, the worldbuilding, the technical stuff (grammar etc), the figurative language
Oh! That's a difficult question. I consider many parts of the story important, and I usually focus a lot in building the characters (their backstories, motivations and voice) and coming up with an interesting plot, but the technical stuff, specially grammar and good pacing in the narrative are essential. In fact, the technical part is usually why I take so long to post a fic. I can have an entire story in my head, but it takes a lot of effort to write it down as I imagine and in a language that is not my own, and edit it to be a pleasant experience to whoever reads it (including myself).
🎀give yourself a compliment about your own writing
I've re-read a few fics I've posted long ago, and I can see how far I've come. The pacing improved and I think the balance between dialogues and descriptions got better too, and I'm more daring, and ventured experiencing with different kinds of narratives and genres, like zombies and thriller, which says a lot about my confidence in my own writing. ☺️
💎why is writing important to you?
I love writing allows me to not only create things out of thin air, but to experience a catharsis. In my stories I can deal with emotions and subjects that move me and it can be really freeing at times.
Again thanks for the ask. I hope you're having a lovely day/night!

Came across your post about sexualized POC queer characters and while some of the things you said are super valid as they reflect your own experiences and desires, I think you skipped right over the part where the ethnicity of this particular character is the key as to why some people might not be okay with your POV. POC aren't a monolith as aren't Brown POCs and not even Queer POCs. I see where the anon might coming from because someway somehow Simon is always the one being hypersexual or sexualized and he is a clearly Latino character. And we cannot pretend Latinos in general aren't always labelled as the sexy or sexual characters in ways others POCs aren't. Every POCs group get their own damaging stereotypes and if you do not belong to that particular group, you might not understand why some of the stuff you say it write might run others the wrong way.
Hi anon! This is a very good and valid point. I appreciate you being candid and voicing that I skipped over the specific sexualization of a Latino character, and you're absolutely right, queer POC are not a monolith. I'm happy to go further.
The sexualization of Latinx characters is a BIG problem in general in the world, in fandom, and specifically in this fandom. I apologize that what I said or how I addressed it did rub people the wrong way. I would like to understand what the objection was to what I originally wrote, as I want to be sensitive to this issue and I may end up taking that post down. The nature of the WIP challenge is to share a snippet, which lacks context, buildup, and other characterization, so it makes sense for people to see that and be taken aback.
I myself was a bit taken aback by the feedback (I received two asks and one was pretty inflammatory.) I'm mostly surprised because I intend to address themes of racism and othering very deeply through my work, as I felt a lack of this in both the show and the fandom. I do identify with his character a lot, but I don't pretend I would know everything about his experiences as a character, nor have I suffered from that stereotype against Latinx people specifically. I'm very open to any feedback.
Exoticization, however, is not something unique to Latinx people or characters. As you said, it happens in very specific and different ways to South Asian, East Asian, Middle Eastern, Indigenous, Black and Afrodescendent, and Latinx people, among many other groups. Also, when you delve into this subject matter there is lots of room for disagreement and discourse. I think that's a good thing. However this means it's more tricky territory than if you just don't address identity at all in your work, which is (somewhat) a form of erasure of lived experience. And thus, you'll receive criticism that white authors or people who choose not to "go there" don't receive. I chose to address it so deeply from my perspective because I perceived that people were finding my account because bigger fic writers were sharing my ideas, (the former 'people', not the fic writers) who didn't know how much I write about these themes, or didn't bother to engage with me and maybe made the assumption I wasn't writing from experience. Unfortunately in this world, while stereotypes are different, othering based on brownness and blackness can be a shared experience between groups of POC due to colorism, and thus sexualized similarly despite the nuance. That's why I felt it was relevant to address my side of things.
Thanks for sharing your thoughts. I did not expect this to circulate the way that it did. <3

Hi, Hopefully this is correct.
I am curious. What is different between me and my fs' exes? Is that an ok question to ask?
Thank you!

Hello, dear @lovesomysterious! Thank you for your request and being a part of my community. I hope that my reading will help you and bring clearance to your situation.
Feedback is very much appreciated and if you consider tipping me, you can do so on my ☕️ko-fi.
Count of questions/requests and answers 11/15.

Ok, so I am going to focus more on your FS because you definitely know how the exes were and you are not going there anymore, only way ahead. I can see that your person is someone private, and discrete that likes to plan stuff without telling others. They use a lot of introspection before making a decision. Also, they are older than you and enjoy solitude, more of an introverted. This person breaks traditions finds a unique approach to a challenge and can even appear as a mentor for you. They can teach you to be patient and to think twice before doing or saying something. They believe that if you want to have a healthy relationship you first need to have some space apart to ultimately grow closer together. With this person, you will learn how to rediscover yourself. You just need to be careful because they might dealt with some trauma in the past and can have some post-traumatic disorder (this can be resolved but it takes some time). They will declare love to you but you need to tell them that you want to see actions, not only words. They will see you as a fresh start and this can help both of you as they are ruled by their heart. So you can be a healer for them(if you think that you don't want to do this is pretty fine for you, it's not your responsibility for something from their past). The good news is that they value traditional relationships and can be seen as a reliable partner if they are going to resolve their past problems. You will see them become more charming, flirtatious, and warm-hearted and this can only bring happiness, security, and sensuality. This person cares a lot for families and children because they want to have harmony at home as they are very nurturing. Keep in mind that you don't need to compromise your beliefs or integrity if you feel that something isn't ok. Angel message: Angel wisdom reminds you that when you aim for a vision without doubt or deviation, it must succeed. Your guidance is to persevere towards your vision. Let everyone's thoughts, words, and actions be directed toward your desired outcome. Nothing is more powerful than focused energy and the angels will see the pure light of your commitment, whether it is to a relationship, a piece of work, a journey, or anything else in your life.
Affirmation: I am committed to my vision. I wish you only the best!🍀

Making a Difference: How Social Marketing Can Change the World
Imagine a world where everyday people can tackle big challenges together. That's the power of Social Marketing Theory! Forget selling the latest gadget; social marketing is about inspiring real change on issues we all care about, from health to the environment. This idea first clicked for me when a rampant awareness posting about the ongoing siege on Palestine recently made rounds on social media. Seeing how communication could spark a movement and can potentially alter the country’s future, I knew I was hooked.
Social marketing isn't a one-size-fits-all approach. The key is understanding the people you're trying to reach. Are you talking to teenagers or parents about smoking? Each group needs a message that resonates with them. We're not just talking about catchy slogans; we're setting clear goals. Want folks to recycle more? We need a plan to track progress and see what's working.
Think about it like this: if you're asking someone to change their habits, you need to make it worth their while. Social marketing highlights the good stuff people get by making a switch. Remember that campaign pushing public transportation? We focused on saving money, beating traffic, and helping the planet – all reasons to ditch the car keys. It's about finding the right balance between what you're promoting (the product), the perceived effort (the price), where people get their info (the place), and how you get them excited (the promotion). It's all about striking a chord with your audience.
But how do we know what chord to strike? Research is key! Before diving in, we need to understand what people already know and believe. Take that recycling push – folks were confused about what could actually be recycled. So, we created clear guides to answer their questions. And guess what? It worked!
The best part? Social marketing campaigns keep getting better. By tracking results and listening to feedback, we can adjust our approach to make sure it hits the mark. In the fight against plastic waste, for example, feedback helped us refine our message and reach more people, growing the movement over time. From encouraging healthy habits to protecting our planet, social marketing is a powerful tool. We can use it to spread awareness about safe driving, rally support for local businesses, or inspire community clean-ups. It's about working together for a better tomorrow.
Social Marketing Theory isn't just about creating campaigns; it's about connecting with people. It allows us to craft messages that resonate, leading to real change. So, have you ever seen a social marketing campaign that made a difference? Share your stories! Let's keep the conversation going and use this power to make our communities a better place.

It's a nifty idea but really for the money you're not getting anything but the way it's built is interesting to our son and daughter and to me it's it's post and beam and the roof system is pulled together. And it's probably real quick one day it's up with one person and a son did it with a shed which had a lot more screws and bolts and the deck is another story but you build that one day easily now it's nice for out here cuz you can screen it and put up citronella and a lot of people probably will cuz it probably won't blow over we want to tell you that this is an ideal system supposed to beam in the roof system for a penalized house he put the post and beam up for structural strengths and you put the panels up to complete your house and the panels go in and the siding you do after everything else is on it all the stuffs on in the walls and you pulled them together and you connect everything with quick connect and you're done with a few other things it's over and you have a slab and you have to put your utilities in beforehand the beauty of this is that you save a lot of time and a lot of DIY can be done homeowners can build these really easy this is probably the smallest you want for a house and it's smaller than our son's apartment but it would be a house and you'd have a room in it which would be like his you'd have four different functions but it's a place to live and it's a small home it's not even a tiny home yourself in a day if you're like our son in two days if you're like you it would not take long as a matter of fact he wants to challenge you to see how long it would take to assemble a home like this so when you get some money he can do it and we'll see who does it in less time and yeah you have to do it all at the same time so I can after the slab and utilities are in and people want to take the challenge so we're going to start making these music this is a great idea and the post and beam ideas one reason why he was coming up with it was for these modular houses and modular systems where you stack them and you stick them together and you attach them to the frame and to each other becomes real strong and it's a way to make apartments out of penalized system in little time I can't hear next door you have two layers of panels and this fire rating between the you put in a baffles it's really a great idea
Thor Freya
It's pretty sweet but my husband's just sitting around doing nothing so he's trying to do things that might help and it's aggravating you guys don't support him and you're in a war
Hera
I guess you're going to hear it until your war is over and you probably won't be here cuz you don't process it
Zues
I'm starting to process some things and I see what you're saying we could build these you could easily have a job what we know you like to do is just drive around and look at it or deliver a few and mention a few things and see how it's going and try and change it to make it better we have feedback and we don't listen to it that's where the balls we don't listen to anybody and we should be doing something cuz it's going poorly. I'm going to start these ideas I see people using these toys for cars but they don't modify them it's hard to make the kit for them and we know how to do it and it says you probably have kids to fit and that's a good idea or you can modify one a little we end up doing that and it's really slick so you have to pick one that there's a lot of and there are a few that there's a ton of and they're useless they sit in the garage and don't do anything we're going to go ahead and do it this idea is great of his so I'm moving out right now
Bja

Tips For Artists To Promote YouTube Videos In 2023 [New]
Tumblr media
1. Use Other Social Media Platforms and Create a Newsletter
It's likely that if you're an artist, you've already posted your work on several social media sites. Using these many platforms to promote your videos while you're first starting out is a fantastic idea. You can also try creating a newsletter to have a built-in list of subscribers you can email when a new video is released in addition to that. My audience has grown since I started my website in 2012, and I can now count on them to watch any new videos I upload to my channel and promote YouTube videos.
2. Work along with different YouTube artists
On YouTube, collaborating with others is a terrific way to grow your audience. In exchange for exposure to the other person's audience, you get to provide some original stuff to your viewers. Collaborations with other YouTube artists have produced some of my best-performing videos. Over 100,000 people have seen the collaboration Aaron Blaise and I did! Just a brief advice for collabs: Keep trying if you can't seem to get any well-known YouTubers to collaborate with you. Contact smaller outlets instead. You're more likely to collaborate on something with another YouTuber who has a comparable-sized audience if you're just starting out. Additionally, you are not required to concentrate on working with YouTubers. Any musician who has a sizable online fan base will direct viewers to your video. Be inventive in how you may collaborate with others and how you can support one another.
3. Be Visible and Steer Clear of Single Camera Screen-Shares
On YouTube, there are many art channels (both large and tiny) where the artist chooses not to display their face. This, in my opinion, is a HUGE error. Building a relationship with your audience is essential if you want to grow it. People enjoy interacting with one another. It is much more engaging to show your face and provide your audience with a personal glimpse into your life than it is to have them merely watch a screen recording of you using Photoshop or making a sketch on paper.Even just speaking straight to the camera can make a difference between someone watching your video/channel only once and unsubscribing to more of it.
4. Take Community Advice, but Don't Let It Control You
It's critical to consider the feedback you're receiving from comments and polls as your channel expands. Some of your most devoted fans will provide this input, so it's a good idea to consider their comments as you work to enhance your channel's content.Don't be hesitant to veer off the beaten road, though. Even if I don't have the most popular material, I still prefer to post interviews since they provide insightful information that I believe my audience should hear. Give and take is involved. Maintain a channel of communication with your audience and make an effort to deliver what they want to see, but remain true to yourself and pursue your own ideas as well.
5. Maintain a narrow focus on your channel's topic while experimenting with various content types.
Prior to expanding your YouTube audience, it's crucial to focus on a single topic. Focus on developing an audience for your stylized digital landscape drawings before moving on to watercolour realistic portraiture. If you're interested in combining diverse topics, make sure the content is sufficiently comparable that providing completely different stuff won't alienate your audience. There are several art channels out there that also broadcast video game replays, which only reduces their audience. Keep your audience together! In light of this, don't be hesitant to experiment with the kind of content you post. You can never be sure what will appeal to your audience. Artists can create a broad variety of videos for YouTube, and you never know which one might become popular there and provide you exposure to a larger audience. I can think of a few that you could try: interviews, sketchbook tours, art challenges, lessons, draw my life, and reviews of art supplies.
6. GIFs, a Secret Weapon
Making gifs from your video after you publish it can be a smart idea, yet depending on your topic, it could not be. A couple of my videos have gained popularity thanks to animated gifs I've created or others who have adapted my teachings into animated gifs. This gif from my course on drawing the pelvis is the one that immediately comes to mind as being the biggest. It has hundreds of thousands of views after being shared on tumblr, reddit, and imgur. My channel and brand have thereby gained greater visibility. I suggest using the website giphy.com if you're seeking for an easy approach to create animated gifs from your movies. You should be able to rapidly create a gif from a clip and upload it on other social media platforms as long as your YouTube video isn't too long. They can also be employed to advertise a brief segment of your video under the YouTube community area.
7. Add Your Name as a Watermark to Your Videos
If your content is good, it will be immediately reproduced, remixed, and so on. You'll be happy that your name or the name of your business is watermarked on the video when that happens. This is straightforward advice that not many people use while uploading information. You may subtly strengthen your brand on the platform by adding a watermark to your video. Make careful to insert the watermark and not the subscribe button that YouTube provides in the bottom right of your video. Even if someone downloads your video, that won't be replicated.
8. Establish a publishing calendar and checklist.
People value reliability. You'll discover that posting frequently and on a regular schedule will result in an average increase in views over posting content haphazardly and erratically. To get YouTube to promote your video within their algorithm, you must have a large audience when it initially goes live. Don't let a lack of organization hinder your ability to develop more quickly. Don't neglect to provide a title and thumbnail as well. A video will do considerably better than one without one if it has a catchy title and YouTube video thumbnail. Make sure that your thumbnail is appealing, that your title can be clicked, and that your description has links to your website, newsletter, and other social media accounts. Additionally, advertise every video you post on all of your other social networks and in your newsletter. Give your video every chance to succeed if you want it to!
9. Let's Discuss Sound
Many musicians put so much effort into making their videos seem amazing that they entirely ignore paying attention to the audio. If your video sounds terrible, nobody will view it, not even artists. Get a microphone for your videos if you're serious about posting to YouTube. There is no justification in 2019 for continue using in-camera audio as the primary audio source for your videos.
10. Create Content That Is Easy to Read
Posting short or long content is OK as long as it's interesting and worthwhile. Is this something I would want to spend time watching? should be your constant question. If it isn't, chop it off. Watchtime is a crucial component for YouTube. It's a red flag that your material may not be watchable if viewers are abandoning your video in droves to watch something else. I frequently observe new art YouTubers who publish an hour-long video of a painting or a sketch they made but receive no views. No one will want to spend that much time watching a video of you drawing unless you're a god of art. A creative person values their time highly. Respect the time of your viewers. Use a time lapse to cut down on the length of uninteresting videos, or better yet, spend more time editing it to include amusing or helpful commentary. Digestible content is shared, which is a terrific approach to get more people to see your videos. Bonus Advice: Avoid nonsense Going back to the first piece of advice, don't post anything that isn't good. People will follow you if your content is of high quality. Your audience will assume that's all you have to give if you upload uninteresting, carelessly edited, or otherwise unengaging content, and they'll go. You might believe that my first video was How to Draw the Head From Any Angle, but you'd be wrong. Because I quickly recognised it wasn't excellent after creating it, you've never seen my first video on YouTube. Killing your darlings and "wasting" the time you spent creating a video hurts, but posting poor quality content hurts you more. Furthermore, the time you spent creating a movie or recording a drawing wasn't in vain; it was a worthwhile learning experience that will enhance your subsequent videos.
