Groosed Universe

A hypothetical Linked Universe AU based on the hypothetical scenario of Sky dying and leaving Groose to marry Sun & become the progenitor of the Hero's Spirit. (edit: @fantasy-observant & @skyward-floored, since you guys were talking about it)

Here are my ideas for the Groose counterparts of the LU boys. Most of these are references to Okami because. Um. Reasons. 👀

Sky—the OG Groose

Four—the Issun: a goodhearted imp who's gifted at his grandfather’s trade (blacksmithing) but wants nothing to do with it; forging the Four Sword is how he comes around to accepting his gift and calling 

Time—the Nagi: an upstanding kid who’s brazen, serious, and a bit showy about being a Hero, but then actually backs it up with genuine heroics

Wind—the Joaquin (from The Book of Life): a goofball who's flamboyantly showy about being the Hero, but is secretly very insecure about actually being strong enough to do the Hero things

Twilight—the Susano: weighed down by the heroic expectations that come from his bloodline, just wants to laze about with the goats all day but is thrust into the Twilight & whipped into shape by Midna 

Legend—the Oki: tries so hard to be the Hero that he almost misses the mark, has to be reminded that being a Hero is about saving people & not just slaying monsters, is constantly traveling to try and get stronger so he can “prove himself”

Hyrule—the He-Man: such a genuinely heroic himbo that he goes on not one, but two long and complicated quests to save Hyrule with no questions asked! 

Warriors—the Prince Charming: impossibly charismatic anime bishonen / Disney Prince who intentionally flaunts his looks on the battlefield (for the Princess, of course) to try and distract from the embarrassing fact that he's still learning how to actually fight on the battlefield 

Wild—the Waka: flaunts his mysteriousness, has his own noble agenda to atone for failing Hyrule, uses advanced technology and always speaks in riddles

Thoughts and ideas of crow lane:

So this is just all my ideas of all the shit that is happening in @starlighttales tales from beyond: crow lane.

So one dumb thought I had was that wallow was crow perched on the tree that the other birds are complementing.

Another thought (and one I have shared with starlight tales on here) is Wallow is either a owlbear, kenku, aarakocra or a changeling. While we currently don’t know, I am mainly thinking owlbear or changeling.

An idea I have yet to bring up is Wallow could possibly have different deceased family members memories implanted. I’m not saying all of them but for the 2nd dream it seems a bit too exact for it to not be a possible memory.

More will be added as I think of them but yeah.

do you know how many people are mad that authors use "growled" as a word for "said"? it's just poetics! they do not literally mean "growled," it's just a common replacement for "said with force but in a low tone." it's normal! do you hear me!! help me i love you please let me out of here!!!

I think so many people are so deeply alienated from themselves that they have no clue how to exercise their free will and autonomy. For some, this alienation runs so deep that they are afraid of their own autonomy and humanity. It is completely understandable why one would have those feelings, but it can be worrisome.

I want to help others who feel this way, so here are small things I have done to exercise my free will:

Add "guilty pleasure" songs to playlists and actually listen to them (I have a ton of late 1990s-early 2000s music I listen to now proudly that I never listened to in the past out of shame)

Getting the décor item, bath set, bed spread, ect. in the patterns you like, even if it's "childish" (I got a dinosaur-themed wastebasket from the kids' décor section and I adore it)

Taking a new route to get to a place you go to often

Eat dessert first

Celebrate well, and often

Collect things that are "odd" or don't seem like an "acceptable" thing to collect (somebody on my "for you" page collects dandelion crayola crayons and it was so cool!!!!!!)

Incorporate one new piece in an outfit you wear frequently (e.g., a new chain, a necklace, ribbons, bracelets, ect.). Challenge yourself to add onto the outfits if you feel up for it.

Sing along to songs without worrying that you sound "good" or your intonation is completely accurate

Read a book from a genre you weren't allowed to read as a kid (comics, thrillers, mysteries, anything!)

Walk without having a specific destination or goal

Pick up a new craft without expecting yourself to master it or to ever be "good" enough. Get your hands messy.

I don't want to shame anybody for not feeling as though they have free will or that they are exempt from exercising it. However, I wanted to give ideas so that you might read this list and find your own ways to express your intrinsic autonomy and will. You deserve to be a person, to feel alive, not just living. That is what our lives are for.

my top bit of advice going into the new year: compliment people. especially strangers. literally everyone you interact with if you can. when you buy coffee in the morning compliment the barista's tattoos. when you're chatting with a coworker tell them that by the way you like their outfit. always find something they've chosen to do on purpose. nail polish, jewellery, tattoos, hair colour/style, statement accessory, outfit, etc are all good bets. things people hope will be noticed. things that aren't too personal so it doesn't make them uncomfortable (eg probably not their physical features). i've gotten into the habit of scanning everyone i talk to for something about them that i think is cool so i can tell them. it's a great habit because it makes me notice people and realise just how many neat little details there are in people's presentation of themselves that might pass me by if i wasn't paying attention. and it brings out so much joy. you'd be surprised how much it disarms people to receive an unexpected compliment from someone they don't know. it is the most sincere smile you will see all day long. it feels nice to make people happy but it also means you win the social interaction. establish dominance by complimenting a stranger's earrings and disappearing into the fog
