Oh this sounds fun! How about my nano project: The Dawnbringer?

Weee! 

Laura Vane has captained the Dawnbringer since she was a teenager. When rival pirate captain Darka Elsban steals it, Laura must sail to the end of the earth to get it back. With the help of a clever kitten and an animated skeleton, Laura must confront her past- and her heated relationship with Darka- to get the Dawnbringer back. Is there dawn on the horizon of Laura’s heart as well, or will she let happiness pass her by out of pride?

You mean, apart from what happens to her in the novel?:p  She lost a lot of her parental figures already, and losing her partners and her crew would be the last straw.

This is from a short story, Viral, that I’ve been working on 💖 Since I got tagged so many times, I figured I should share more than one line, lol

I am a disease.  

I am known by many names, but nonetheless I fester and replicate just beneath the surface. I am living and yet inanimate: biologists make futile attempts to shove my corners through round holes; philosophers ponder on my methods. I surpass all attempts at confinement, unseen and impossible to grasp. 

“It's a virus,” they moan, cursing my name when the scans pop up pus-boil red.  I am a virus: deception incarnate.

Throughout the first book, despite the fact that Alderon ended the deal with Cutlo once Garrick came along, he kept scouting the roads and keeping them free of thieves and such. He doesn’t realize he has no obligation to do it anymore until Garrick points it out.

I’lll answer these for Freedom since she’s the one hopping around my brain atm.4. It’s a sunny day outside, what is their reaction?Her reaction is to groan, complain about why the gods hate her so much they won’t even give her clouds, drink some whiskey, then cover up head to toe before heading out because she has a severe allergic reaction to the sun. *pets her* Poor baby.19. Would they stop to look at pretty flowers?If Freedom were alone, yes. She actually would. She does her best to seem badass, cool, and above all those things, but she enjoys most things in nature. Except spiders. She hates spiders.25. They see a magical wand, do they touch it?Oh yes, but only to steal it and resale it. She knows how valuable things like that are and she could turn a nice profit. There would be gloves involved though, she would know better than to touch magical objects with her bare hand... unless she’s drunk. Then that’s a whole different story.... might have to write a drabble now lol. Those were great questions! Thanks again!

Emerald is located to the Southeast, slightly inland

Printing and binding books and other written works, media, sending/spreading information within the kingdom

Appearance of Kingdom

Emerald has bookstores and print shops all over the place. It is a very quaint kingdom. Everything is close together, but Emerald resembles a village more than a city. The buildings look like small, dark wooden cottages with thatched roofs. The palace is made of dark brown stone with emerald green roofs.

Appearance of People

People from Emerald have brown skin, dark brown hair and bright emerald green eyes

Government

A constitutional monarchy lead by the Prime Minister

Deity

Emerald, Goddess of communication and messenger of the gods

Fun Fact

Emerald sends out a weekly gazette to all of the kingdoms explaining the news and happenings, and it is the only thing keeping most of the kingdoms connected to one another. It is important for spreading information and keeping everyone in the kingdom informed on what is going on in other places, since most people keep within their kingdoms when the events of DITR begin. At the beginning of DITR, the gazette, and Emerald, have been taken over and are controlled by Diamond.

The earth beneath her paws was rough, covered in sticks and stones. It did not matter though. It was a welcoming sensation to finally feel the ground with all its shapes between her claw-spiked toes, to smell the moist earth, the bark of trees and their rustling leaves.

This is inspired by and made for the lovely @thewingwriter and her Night Crystals wip, especially the relationship between Amaria and Kyree which I cannot wait to read more about- because we all need more ladies in fantasy in our lives!

@thewingwriter‘s writing is beautiful and I would recommend everyone checks her out!

“Die For You” Tag

Thank you to @dirtypuzzle for the tag! This was a genuinely amusing one to think about. Also, I JUST tried to find you last night, only to realize you changed your username. Perfect timing!

“Then Perish”: Medea. She’s the Goddess of Death, did you expect anything else? She understands the need for sacrifice, as do her soldiers. Half the kingdom says this to her every day. But death is not as grievous a thing in Al-Hasan as it is in other cultures. To die a glorious death serving your goddess? That’s the best way to go, and Medea’s all too happy to help you get you there.

“You Will”: Oeden. He’s literally a prophet, you guys - he could actually foresee you dying for him. Don’t get me wrong, he’s not happy about it. But defying fate hasn’t exactly gone well for him thus far.

“Please Don’t”: Solomon, ever the paternal figure, just wants all of his children to stop fighting and get along. In truth, he’s fought in wars before, seen plenty of men lay down their lives for him. He understands the cost, but he no longer sees the point in the price tag. 

“Cool”: Farukh and Carmila. Farukh would probably give you a high five and welcome you to the club of misfits that also swore their probably-overager promises of fealty to him. Carmila’s much more cold about it. She sees it as an asset - someone to trade, to barter, to expend if need be. You’re a resource now. But this would change dramatically if her brother, Cesar, or her lover, Emerico, said this to her. She would never let them die for her.

“I’d Die for Your First”: Kasumi and Royan. Kasumi’s occupation entails that she lay down her life for her mother, the Exalt, if need be. Think like the Secret Service, but in a fantasy world...with ninjas. If her mother would ever say this to her (unlikely), she would automatically respond with this. Royan? Oh no, he’s spurred almost entirely by the innately competitive nature of the statement. While not exactly the same as the prompt requires, he would almost immediately scream back “NOT IF I DIE FOR YOU FIRST!” and then realize the implications of his statement about three minutes too late.

Wealth: He was born to a poor family into a middle of a war zone, but eventually became a knight and the commander of cor Mantgamia’s house guard.

Occupation: After cor Mantgamia’s lessened a lot in number and only the heir, Faerathos, was left alive (or so he thinks), he devoted his life to protect him in the court of their enemy.

Obsession: Protecting Faerathos and keeping his promise to Faerathos’ dad, Julius

Fears: Failure, hurting people around him, being unable to redeem himself, powerlessness, Faerathos dying, emptiness

Wants: Be useful, be a better person, repay Julius, die for a good cause, be a taylor

Dice stands in the living room, frowning down at his phone when Ryan enters, Thom in tow. "Sorry," Dice says, and lifts a hand in a wave to Thom. "I didn't want to call you back."

But he did. What’s more frustrating is that Ryan came. Wearing one of Thom’s t-shirts, which is just a little too-tight but well-worn and loved, and even as Ryan wanders into Nakoa’s room, he still feels as though Thom’s wrapped around him.

Lying in bed, Nakoa looks like shit; he’s sweating, pale, shaking—he doesn’t even notice when Ryan sits on the edge of the bed and draws a hand across his head.
