You ever see some posts that low key imply a character is going to die, so you just try to ignore it. You’re early in the show, some people kill off characters in fan works just because that character almost died and not because they actually died, died. But the amount of content of them being dead is still concerning and now you’re later into the show and you still haven’t even seen anything about this supposed death. As a matter a fact this show has kind of shown it doesn’t make sense for anyone to permanently die. But you haven’t forgotten all those posts you saw about them being dead. So one day out of pure morbidity curiosity you cave and just look it up. And it turns out they do die in the next couple episodes you were going to watch soon. And instead of this actually being a relief as now you actually have an answer you’re just kind of pissed off because WHAT DO YOU MEAN THEY KILLED MY FAVORITE CHARACTER?!?
But yeah anyways that ever happen to you? Because that certainly didn’t just happen to me. No sir.

Crying, sobbing, throwing up after reading Bill vs Bill and knowing that in the Book of Bill, Bill had parents, a family who loved him. And Familiar!Bill has that again in the form of his Dipper loving him back
Thank you! Familiar!Bill is really doing much better than the baseline version, what with forming one (1) honest emotional connection and all.
I'm pretty pleased with the emotional arc of Bill vs Bill, but if I went back to it? I'd alter some of Bill's weaponized embarrassment to include Book of Bill details. It'd just hit so much harder.

jafar raised jay to be slippery and selfish but jay knew there was strength in numbers and decided to trust and love and hope despite everything else. and he protects these people that he finds, the only things his father can’t take from him, his own treasure he guards like the lion’s head at the cave of wonders.
he’s the last one out, there to watch their backs, as close to them all as their own shadows. he’s their third eye, always hyper-vigilant, always on the look out. he knows when to start a fight, and when it’s best to leave it alone. it’s nearly always best to leave it alone. he wrangles them all back in, keeping them safe so they don’t have to worry about injuries or repercussions or consequences. his job is to keep them safe, and keep them alive.
and yet, in auradon, with no brawls or street fights or leering parents or turf wars or rivals or enemies, what is there to protect them from? passive aggressive comments? pastels? afternoon tea? what is a guard dog with nothing to guard? jay has built his entire life, his entire self, around servitude. if it’s not his father, it’s his gang, always the helping hand and the shoulder to cry on (metaphorically, of course) and the reassuring presence. without any of that, he is nothing.
he is the thief that gives. the boy desperate to hold on to his only sense of purpose. it’s all he knows: give enough away and they might let you stick around. chameleonic, knowing exactly who to be where and when. the charmer, the heartthrob, the villain, the protector, the liar, the snake, the attacker. anything you need. he can be anything at all, as effortless as breathing.

Sometimes I feel that Barnaby and Wally have this friendship like big bro/Lil bro, and Howdy being Barnabys bf has to put up with a lot of Wallys shenanigans for Barnaby (doesn't mind cause he also adores Wally I'm a big bro way)
i view them (as a trio) Similarly! though a little to the Left cause i don't view Barnaby & Wally's relationship as big/lil bro. rn to me they're very close friends - borderline queerplatonic! like... Wally is Barnaby's special little guy, yk?
so in my mind, in this trio, Wally's not exactly a. uh. third wheel to Barnaby/Howdy i suppose? oh this is difficult to translate into words - he's part of the relationship without being Part of it if that makes any sense? like of course he's gonna be With them a lot. Barnaby's not gonna be like "ok go do something else so i can make doe eyes at Howdy". that's his Little Buddy. they're gonna Include him as much as possible, i'd imagine. and i doubt Wally would mind being around while they flirt chat. he'd probably love being Barnaby's "wingman"

Okay but like, this lady made the check out to Owen directly and sent him a VENMO for 40 grand. What if he had just...kept the money. She had no way to ensure it went to the actual charity, so aside from it making some dumb pointless drama, it's also just plain dumb! If she actually cared that much about the charity she would have made sure the money waa going to it and not risk some stranger just keeping it. Owen was going to throw it out!

it's just like. progressivism is not on a linear scale, you know? star trek could be progressive in its depiction of a racially integrated workplace and still extremely white supremacist. star trek could be progressive in its depiction of women in star fleet, including in command positions, and also regressive in its worldbuilding about orions. doing well in one specific area that they were thinking about doesn't mean they were fundamentally revolutionary in their conception of what the future could/should look like.
star trek had more than one excellent episode about the regressive pointlessness of racism. it also did such a bad job giving uhura things to do that she had to be talked into staying in the role by literal mlk jr. even at the time she knew she was being sidelined. by producers and directors and roddenberries who explicitly told anti-racist stories! and had ham-fisted lines about female crewmembers being crew first and foremost!
and then there's the extremely common example of something being progressive on one little issue and conservative or even regressive on other things, which is hardly limited to star trek, because values are on a broad spectrum, and i can hardly expect someone who agrees non-consensual surgeries on intersex infants are awful to also be a staunch intersectional feminist who won't have any trouble getting my wife's pronouns right.
and as much as roddenberry had some really wildly progressive takes for his time, he was also like. a white man. and the premise of star trek is really, really colonialist and white supremacist, even when the people making it thought they were being anti-racist, because they were so grounded in colonialism and white supremacy that they couldn't see it.

THAT’S SO COOL????? I’m not into video games but GOD they reincarnate and are in love every time??? princess and knight??? also I’ve been wanting to say this for ages but link is sooooo gender. you get it
so. they are in love in the sense that nintendo is queerbaiting me. queerbaiting me with a "straight" couple (they are lesbians). they are not canon they kissed only in the second ever zelda game when there was only the barest story and they were nothing more than pixel sprites and they have not been canon since. and because every game is technically a different link and a different zelda, each individual game varies on how shippable they actually are? like, I'm not very far through twilight princess yet but I've heard they're pretty much just coworkers in that one. the three latest mainline games though, they're like. they're pretty much canon in all but name like you could say it's platonic but like at that point you are running on loads of denial. the three latest mainline games are skyward sword, which is the first link and zelda, the start of the cycle. the plot ENTIRELY revolves around how much link loves zelda. cause they're best friends, hyrule as a kingdom doesn't even exist yet (they live on an island in the sky) she falls to earth and is running around having to discover that she's a reincarnated goddess (that's a whole angst factor btw bc the goddess (hylia) had to fight demise and she won but knew it was temporary and knew demise would have to be defeated again, and that he would need to be defeated with the power of the triforce, which can only be wielded by humans, so she decided basically that she'd need a loyal human knight, and so she reincarnated into a human girl because a girl is loved in the way a goddess isn't and she knew someone would love a human girl enough to save her WHICH HAPPENS so basically zelda gets to have an identity crisis was she just dragging link towards this destiny the whole time? did she truly love him? did he truly love her? are they puppets in this grand plan? "I'm still your zelda" she says to him, but is she??? drives me nuts) and he, ever loyal, keeps running after her to save her again and again and again (link is so dog coded there's a great botw fic about this), and then they defeat demise and he curses them and link is just some guy who went through ALL THIS SHIT cause he LOVED zelda. what if you were in love with your best friend and it cursed you and your descendants for the rest of time this is so francesca by hozier I'd tell them put me back in it I'd go through it again if i could hold you for a minute. and then the next two mainline games are breath of the wild and tears of the kingdom and breath of the wild involves an amnesia plot so you basically watch link fall in love with zelda a second time and then in tears of the kingdom they are. common law married. they share a house. there's only one bed. do NOT get me FUCKING STARTED on the hateno house. and nintendo still plays FUCKING COY zelda's english va has to be like "they... have a really close bond...." this is how I know they're queer you wouldn't do this with straight people. and then people also ship ocarina of time (most popular and well known game of the series most praised for its story) zelink a lot but that's an older game I haven't played yet so I can't speak on them. zelda is so transmasc in that one though this I know. I talk about link being genderqueer a fair amount and everyone on this internet knows link is trans but trust. zelink is t4t
