TELL ME ABOUT ARATH
INTIMIDATING BEHAVIOR BOLI GOOD JOB :D :D <3
Tumblr media
ARATH IS SUCH AN UNDERRATED GEM.
I had to include "didn't get bullied enough" but I completely headcanon that the depiction of him picking on Dooku in Dooku: Jedi Lost is complete unreliable narrator fiction from Dooku's POV and it was actually him and Sifo who were little shitty terrors to this loner bastard kid.

I finally saw the mean girls musical (the movie one) I have so many fucking thoughts oh my god
#thoughts#oni talks#mean girls 2024#I think I may be the only person to kind of like it? like don’t get me wrong it is kinda ROUGH but it has so much potential and there’s bits#and pieces that I actually really enjoy or wish they had more of or just aahh#I’ve been nonstop thinking about the ideal version in my head like there’s so much potential obviously I’m biased by like a lot#since for one I know I tend to like stuff other people hate or don’t like but for two this sequel was weirdly way more relatable so maybe#I’m just projecting from my own personal experiences but Idc the POTENTIAL THERES SO MUCH ID WANNA DO INSTEAD#like there’s so many little details and characterizations that I wish was expanded on or fleshed out and it’s just like it feels like either#half baked or that it’s gone through too many edits it’s like it’s scared to exist?? like there’s some differences I love and wish they lol#leaned into but it’s like it was terrified to be too different? or like they were rushing the end especially#like in my ideal form it’s a tv show coz I think they honestly have enough that could be genuinely expanded in a way more interesting way#via that format probably not like a super extended series like you COULD but you’d definitely need more expansion but I could see the potent#but like idk one SOLID musical season with expanded character story and not like one of those rush cram shows like a good solid one#like Regina’s characterization is so fascinating but also feels like slightly off and like they could’ve leaned way more into things?#like I think keeping Regina as a closeted lesbian gives the greatest potential and interest for an expanded story#like I loved maybe the first half of the movie the most like that one song she sang to manipulate Aaron would work so much more perfectly if#she’s singing it about/to Cady? I also think in my ideal brain an cool flashback episode for Janis and Regina would be so cool coz there’s#so much you could flesh out in a flashback than you could in a retelling which while I do like the retelling since it lets you imagine thing#I just! potential! I also want more of them interacting and I do think changing Janis to be a lesbian works if they leaned more into it?#I also think in my ideal form janis would have more comeuppance or acknowledgement of her shit? I also think an arc of Regina coming out#like one thing they missed from the original is Regina playing soccer at the end & I think they could hint more towards that and maybe lean#more into her at home life in an expanded story way coz her mom is clearly like… yikes. granted maybe some of my views on the movie are too#biased by personal experience but like the way she snaps at her mom usually in my experience isn’t out of nowhere? like parents behind#closed doors. or frustrations with what her mom has clearly been putting on her the way she tells her mom not to talk about her body is very#like idk a lot of the characters in this version feel more real to me bc they act really similar to people I know irl so the expanded story#could be cool. another one that in my ideal brain would have more is Gretchen and especially her relationships with Regina as well as with#that one guy and her parents I wanna see more of how that works and her arc to feel more meaningful when she dumps him & mentions family#also as much as I didn’t care much for the straight plot stuff there’s 100% missed potential there that I could see in the differences like#iirc in the original it’s regular algebra not AP calc which I think could’ve been used as an interesting characterization opportunity for

Masterlist Badger express ★ Theodore Nott x Hufflepuff ! reader (fem) Summary: When Theodore's name gets misspelled he's not happy about it.  Warnings: no use of y/n, cigerets Authors note: Haiya! This is a sequel series to the whole delivery one. This one is gonna focus on the boys separately! hope you enjoy it! English is not my first language, so I apologize for any mistakes beforehand. Proofread by me and me only (T▽T) word count: 1.1k Song: Up to You - PRETTYMUCH, NCT Dream
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Mr Theodore Nott was one of his kind. Or he liked to think so, when one of the Ravenclaw girls could not remember his name he was baffled. How dare she. She went through his whole friend group before she came to something resembling his name. He would understand if he was some kind of low-muggle-born. But he was part of what was essentially a royalty. Now, it did occur to him that she might have done it intentionally. He is not dumb, he very much knows all the mind tricks and hacks. And although it was supposed to get his yearning to make her remember his name, he was just mad. Mad is not enghou, he was pissed.
Sitting down and zoned out, he kept playing with the note in his hand. He did not even notice the Hufflepuff girl standing before him with a concerned look. He registered her only when she waved her hand in front of him. He jumped a bit and looked at her. Her yellow bow adorned her hair. Her usual uniform was covered in a long fluffy yellow sweater. Her arms were now retracted to her body.
It was not unusual to see her in the Slytherin common room. He wouldn't even bat an eye if he saw her in the boy's bathroom, or the chamber of secrets. To see her in his room was questionable. He may have asked a question, be it not his mood right now. He was just going to assume she was here to get something for Enzo.
“You okay?” She asked, still a bit startled by his quick movements. He just sighs and reaches over to his bedside table for a pack of cigarettes. He lights one up and offers the other one to her. The girl declines and waves her hand around to get the smoke away from her face. He shrugs and puts them into his pocket. He exhales the smoke and stares at the wall for a minute before speaking.
“You know my name right?” The girl looks at him even more puzzled. Of course, she knew his name, they had been friends for a few months now. Granted sometimes she calls him Theo and both he and Mattheo turn around, but that hardly seems like her fault. She was hesitant to answer.
“Have you changed it?” She asks. She does not mean to offend him if he perhaps decides to go by Denim or something like that. He just gives her a side eye before getting up to fetch the ashtray. She took a few tiny steps to get out of his way. When he passed her back, he gave her the note. She took a look at it. It was a love note alright, Theodore's name was misspelled in all the ways possible. Not even his last name was spelled right, missing one t at the end. The girl was starting to frown and Theodore could see she was getting mad. Finally, someone who understood him.
“Oh hell no!” She yelped. Theodores smiled in bliss, he knew he could count on the Hufflepuffs when it came to empathy. She took a few steps to him and grabbed his face so he could look at her.
“Who gave you this and how dare they steal my business.” His smile instantly dropped. She was mad but not for the same reason. looking up at her caged in her arms. For a second he thought it didn't matter if she did not know his name. But then he remembered that the Ravenclaw girls pretended to not know and he was pissed again.
“Is that what you're mad about?”
“YES!? What else?
“LOOK AT MY NAME!” Her eyebrows scrunched together and she took another look at the note. She read his name over and over again. Deep down she knew it was supposed to be his name, but it looked like a poor attempt by a kindergartener. Her lips twitched to a smile and her eyes kept flying between him and the note. She was trying to keep her giggles down, he knew it, and she was doing a horrible job at it. He was starting to lighten up.
“Who the fuck is Thieodor.” She laughed out loud. He hung his head in defeat. Debating whether or not to change it. Whether or not to change his whole identity. He however snapped when the girl in front of him placed her hand on his shoulder and wheezed at the fact that his last name is not written as Nott, but as Noot. His hands reach to the base of her neck. He stands up now towering over her.
She looked at him dazed, eyes full of tears from laughing, seemingly not releasing the position they were in. He's very close to her face, even closer than that one time she was forced to count his eyelashes as a dare. He leaned closer to her, only stopping by her ear. Her breaths were now quick and sharp.
“Theo?” She asked, her voice very weak and quiet. He liked it like that. He liked that she said his name, he liked that she knew his name. If she were to say it again, he swears his knees would bend and he would not be responsible for what was happening after that. He wanted to beg, he would never, but he wanted to. He didn’t answer her, rather he leaned in even closer. She could feel his breath on her neck.
“Say it again, please say my name again.” He whispered. He was so close. One little move and he would kiss her neck and take their friendship on a different boat. He just needed to hear the magic words. He should have known something was wrong when she giggled first before speaking.
“Noot.” She says softly and starts laughing. He shoots up to his full height looking at her in disbelief. He pushes her away with a grimace as she continues laughing.
“Go fuck yourself.” He murmurs and lights up another cigarette. She was now on the floor clutching her stomach. There was nothing he could do but watch her. He waited till she was done. It took her a good 10 minutes. When she was done, she got up, her legs a little bit wobbly. She could not look at his face without smiling excessively but Theodore decided that it was enough for him.
“Let's go, we need to find the others.”
“Okay, Noot Noot.”
“Stop.”

Hey could I request angsty and fluffy headcanons for Dean having a crush on reader but he thinks she has a crush on Sam but she actually has a crush on Dean back
Hey lovely!
So I kiiiind of already did this type of prompt with "Dean gives you an impossible choice" and its sequel, "Choosing Him."
But I'll do another imagine in this vein for you! ❤️
Pairing: Dean Winchester x Reader Word Count: 1,000 Tags/Warnings: Fluff, angst(ish), fear of unrequited love, mutual pining
Imagine: Dean reads you wrong.
Tumblr media
When Dean falls for someone, it's "slow and steady wins the race."
But the spark. That spark is instant.
He feels it with you.
Your pretty smile. Your "get it done" attitude that mirrors his. The way you know all of his references, whether it's movies or TV or music — you grew up learning how to tell time from what was on TV, just like him.
It's the way you laugh with him, share quiet moments of contemplation with him, and even moments of grief with him. Even when it's his grief, you always come. Whether it's to sit beside him, or share a drink with him, or make him something you know he likes, or get him to take a drive with you.
But realistically, you have more in common with Sam.
Both of you are bookish (nerds). You two get into heated discussions about Dante's Inferno and proper Latin translations. (You always accuse Sam of his pronunciations being off, while Sam argues, "At least I remember the whole exorcism. You think the damn demon cares if my vowels are off?")
You and Sam bicker. You playfully tease him, bring smiles to his face just as often as you bring them to Dean's. You're comfortable with him, playfully jabbing his arm or his chest when you mess with him.
Sam takes it with a smile, or a slight roll of his eyes, but always with fondness.
Dean can't help the churning in his stomach. Every time he thinks he has a read on you. Every time he thinks it's safe to maybe, one day, after a hunt, after an episode of Dr. Sexy, after you get out of the shower, after he's made you a home-cooked meal, after you sit with him and talk about everything and nothing while he works on his car — he thinks he might have a shot if he asked you out.
But he always falters, because he just can't fucking tell. He thinks you and Sam have something.
And Dean...he likes you. A lot.
More than he's ever willingly expressed.
But despite his reputation with women, he's never, and will never, step on his brother's toes.
Until he can't help himself.
It's your birthday. Sam got you a series of books he recommended to you last month. (Again, fucking nerds.) Dean got the booze and made the food to celebrate.
But you're surprised, and even a little teary when he brings out the cake he bought at an honest-to-God bakery. He even stood in line, waited 30 minutes to have them write your name on it, with little balloons. The frosting letters are drawn in your favorite color.
"Happy Birthday, sweetheart," Dean tells you. His tone is a little too soft. It's because he sees your unshed tears, and his heart clenches.
It's just a fucking cake.
Does it really matter that much to you?
But he still feels a well of warmth and pride in his chest. He turns to his brother with a smirk. "I win."
It's meant to be playful, but he kind of means it. Sam just eyes him knowingly.
"Sure," Sam laughs.
What the hell does that mean? Dean nearly frowns. But he's soon distracted — by you leaning in close to kiss him on the cheek.
He turns just in time (with slightly wider eyes) to see you blush.
That smile tells him something.
"Thanks, guys," you say to both of them. But your hand lingers on Dean's wrist, squeezing a bit.
At the end of the night, Sam turns in early. You stick around to help Dean clean up.
"Aw, stop. You're the birthday girl. I got this," Dean says, waving you off. You join him at the kitchen counter and lay a hand on his arm.
"Dean," you say softly. It earns his attention. You look a little nervous, your eyes falling from his, then meeting them again.
"What's the matter?" he asks. His brows furrow. He's thinking of your lips on his cheek. Unconsciously he glances down at your pretty mouth.
"Was wondering if you could help me with a birthday wish," you said.
A smile begins to tug at your lips, and Dean can't help but smile back. Intrigue, and a small tremor of something triggers up his spine.
"Oh yeah? What's that?" he asks.
You bite your lip. "Okay...I'm going to ask you this once. Yes or no. And if it's no...then we won't talk about it ever again and you'll have to wipe it out of your memory, because I don't want to make things weird or make you uncomfortable and I don't want to have to do something drastic, like leave the Bunker—"
Dean's smile falls as his brows raise in slight alarm. He also raises placating hands to stop your verbal flapping.
"Whoa, hey. What? What the hell kinda birthday question is this?"
You close your eyes and take a breath. "Okay."
Your eyes open, and as what happens far too often, Dean's captured by them.
"Close your eyes for me," you request.
"My eyes need to be closed to answer a damn question?"
"Damn it, Dean. Just do it, please!"
He lets out a slightly peeved breath, but he obliges you, shutting his lids. He really doesn't know what the hell is going on...until you lay a bracing hand on his chest and press a soft kiss to his lips.
For a moment, he freezes.
He inhales deeply through his nose as the surprise fades.
Relief floods in its wake.
A smile reaches his face.
But soon enough, before you can pull away, he grasps your upper arms to hold you in place. He dips his head down to kiss you in earnest. His lips find yours, gentle at first, and then gaining in passion.
He learns quickly the pattern of your lips, and the heady feeling of that knowing travels straight to his brain, stronger than the whiskey he drank earlier.
It's like you two were made to move together. To end up just like this.
You both are breathless by the time your eyes slide open and meet one another.
Dean's lips curve into a smirk. "How's that answer for ya?"
Your smile is beaming bright.
"Yeah, that works."
Chuckling, he pulls you in closer and tugs a strand of hair behind your ear, his thumb brushing your blush-warmed cheek.
And he answers you again.

AN: Ugh, I'm sappy as hell. 😂 Hope you liked this! Let me know what you think. 😉

hiiii!! I just wanted to pop in and say that I loved sugar, sugar (&the sequel) as well as come and show me (I hope that’s the right title)! your writing style is so unique and you’re so good at characterization for wade and logan, I could practically hear their voices in my head while I was reading your fics (esp wade you’ve got him down SO well!!) I was wondering if you’re still taking any fix requests, and if you are, would you be interesting in writing more for wade? maybe smth abt him being fwb with reader when he learns that her previous partners never really made her feel good. feel free to ignore me if you’re not interested!
ahh anon!! 🥺💖 thank you so much, this made me over the moon to read - I am so happy you are liking this series! I’ve loved writing it so much. this was so kind of you and I am treating this!!!
and oooh I love this, I feel like he would want to fix that immediately - I have a little drabble for you!

Tumblr media
Kissing Wade is already at the top of your admittedly-short list of sexual experiences - you can already feel the heat pooling between your thighs. The eagerness fluttering in your belly.
His mouth hungry against yours, wandering hands that tease at your breasts, a knee nudging against your core. His cock hard against your thigh, each kiss peppered with sentiments that set fire to your cheeks. The make-out session turning sloppy, and then desperate, as you tug his shirt from his shoulders.
Your own shirt lost to the floor, leggings pulled down, and you’re expecting this to go the way it usually does. A little frown as he groans, kissing his way down your chest and belly.
Settling between your legs.
“We don’t have to,” You breathe - as his lips press against your inner thigh. Hot breath ghosting across your core, and you’re already clenching.
His brow lifts and the words are tumbling from you, “I mean, I’m ready, you can skip this part if you want.”
“You usually skip this part?” Wade sounds more surprised than offended. Eyes on yours as his lips brush across your folds. A shaky breath pulled from you, with a soft lick of his tongue.
Your answer comes in a groan, hips chasing.
“I just mean, I’m already wet-“ It’s breathed out, embarrassed.
“You think that’s why I’m doing this?” His head cocks, “Just to get you wet enough to take my massive schlong?”
The look you give him - all round-eyes and soft confusion - has his expression softening.
“Oh, baby girl.” His tongue clucks, throwing you a pitying look, “You poor, orally-deprived little thing.”
A hand hooks around your thigh, dragging it over his shoulder.
“Change of plans, we’re going pearl diving,” Wade fixes you with a deadly-serious look, “Gotta make up for all those years of clearly sub-par and wholly unsatisfying sex.”
His tongue drags across your clit - a grin when he feels the way you jolt again. At the way you whimper, and he’s barely even touched you.
“Starting right here.”

Lunch Box SingleDad!Miguel O´Hara x Reader
I think i'm going to make a small serie of SingleDad Miguel. Its going to have small fics, drabbles and headcanons. This is the second one I make, but is not a sequel so can read it any order you want.
You have been dating Miguel for awhile now and everything was perfect. Gaby and you got along quite fast, a little too fast. But she loves you and you love her.
Her favorite thing is the weekend, that means that you would stay at their house, so she has you and her dad for two whole days. She knows that Miguel has a time consuming job yours was a little more flexible but still.
Miguel loved how things were going, he was really happy but he couldn't help to feel a little bit jealous about the little bond you made with her daughter. Don't get him wrong, he loves you both, of course his type of love is different from one to another. He loves how you care for Gabriela and how she loves to spend time with you, but sometimes he feels that he's left outside. He just couldn't help it, he wants to have that communication that you have with her daughter, she tells you things that probably she would never tell him about, on the other side, he wants to have your full undivided attention only for him. There are days when he doesn't want to share his daughter and others when he doesn't want to share you.
You knew about it, he gets all grumpy when he hears you talking low in Gaby's room when you have your "girls night". He has tried to walk "by accident" in the middle of your chat only to get a "it's nothing" in response and then a few giggles when he leaves the room. Gaby and you use this to bother him.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
It had just past one of those weekends, and now it was monday, your day off, so you didn´t left.
Miguel heard his alarm sound, he turn it off with a groan and turn his boby to reach you, but he felt your bed space empty he got up quickly from his place looking for you, you were nowhere in the bedroom, all lights where out except for the little light that came out under the door meaning someone was on the kitchen or living room.
Against his will he got up, he felt cold without your presence. He rubbed his sleepines off his face with his hands. He didn´t want to get up yet, he would dragg you back to bed and sleep late until he had to "call sick" so he can spend more time with you.
When he arrived to the kitchen he saw you there, looking for something in the freezer, you were still in pijamas wich was pretty much some shorts and a shirt courtesy of Miguel's closet. He can hear the sizzle of the pans on the stove and the smell of whatever you were cooking.
"What are you doing up? It´s 6:15 am" His voice was low and groggy.
You gave a little jump, you didn´t expected to see him awake you turn to see him with a hand in her chest. "Dios mío Miguel, give me a warning." He just kept looking at her waiting for an answer. "Oh, I´m making a lunch box for Gabriela"
"Why? She eats at school" He look at you more confused
"Oh, well hehe, she told me that last week there was an insect on her smash potatoes"
"Why I didn´t knew about this?" An insect on his daugther´s food!? That was unacceptable, he would definitely change her from school.
"Because she didn´t want to worry you, besides i´m more than happy to cook for her, its not the first time I make her a lunch box, I usually made them in my apartment and bring them to her school in my luch hour" You star packing everything in her lunch box - funny thing: it was from Spiderman-
His eyes never left you, he followed every movement you made until his stomach rumbled in the middle of the silences. You looked at him. "I´m going to start breakfast. Go get ready."
He gave one last look to the lunch box then he turn to you standing in the middle just like a small kid. "Hmmm... Love? Can i get..." he lower his voice.
You turn to see him "You can get what?"
"I said if I could get..." Again. He wisper
"Mi amor habla más fuerte, no te entiendo. ¿Qué necesitas?"
"Que si puedo tener una yo también" He exchange looks between the lunch box and you.
"A lunch box? You want me to make one for you?"
"Yes please"
You couldn't keep yourself from smiling "Claro que si mi amorcito, I can make you one" You grab his face "Go get ready for work"
Minutes later everyone had finished eating Gabi clean the table while Miguel was getting his stuff in the trunk once he was done he told Gabriela to get in the car and wait for him.
He ran back to the kitchen to grab his lunch box in the counter.
"Wait Miguel, you forgot your dessert" You handle him a small box similar to the bigger one which contains the main food only that this one was cold. "Keep it cold until dessert time my love, its a surprise"
"Gracias"
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
He can´t concentrate in work, he was constantly looking to the small freezer that he kept in his office, far from Hobie - he tend to stole his food- checking allmost every minute his watch hoping time moves faster so lunch time could arrive and finaly eat whatever you made him.
Finally lunch time arrived and he enjoy every single bite of his food, he felt like a kid again, eating home food in peace. Once hi finished his food he began to clean everything until he found the small box, he was full but he didn´t care it was his dessert, made by his lovly girlfirend, of course he´s going to eat it.
He opened the box, it took him a while to process what was happening, he grabbed what was inside lifting it up to get a better look. It was a strawberry, a blue one, with something red on it. Once he took a better look he almost let a squeal scape his lips, they were straberries covered in blue chocolate with some marks made with red chocoalte pretending to be his Spiderman mask.
He was definitely going to hide them from Hobie.

Genuinely, I think the funniest way that an Amphibia sequel series could make Sashannarcy canon would be to have it happen entirely off-screen. Like, between the final scene of season 3 and the first scene of this sequel the girls asked each other out, went on several dates, proposed, got engaged, planned a wedding, and got married (also bought a house and moved in together) completely off camera.
Also, it would be even funier if they kept referencing things that happened during that off-screen part, but it's always so vague that the audience can't figure out what they mean.
As an example: The girls are fighting some big monster.
Sasha: Dodging the monster's attack "Hey doesn't this remind you guys of that one date we went on?"
Marcy: "You mean the one with the- Woah!" Barely avoids getting stomped on
Sasha: "Yeah that one."
Anne: "Oh yeah, I remember that one. You know, that place was kinda nice. We should go back there sometime."
Sasha: "I thought you said you hated that place."
Anne: "Yeah, but thay was before we- LOOK OUT!" Pushes Sasha out of the way of an attack
Sasha: Laying on the ground with Anne on top of her "Now that you mention it, we never did manage to get the 'full experience', did we?"
Anne: Pushing herself off of Sasha "Save it for later, Sasha. We've got bigger things to worry about right now"
Sprig, who's been watching this whole thing:
Tumblr media
Also, at some point, one of them needs to mention that "this reminds me of our honeymoon" during a situation that should absolutely not remind someone of a honeymoon.

Chapter 29 - Another Fall Baby | ‘Ours’
word count - 11.8 k
Another day, another morning filled with Teddy’s giggles echoing in your kitchen. Trent was chasing her around the island counter as you tried to dodge them, multitasking making Trent’s protein shake and Teddys pancakes for their respective breakfasts. This was their thing lately. Teddy liked to think she was going at the same speed in your kitchen that she was watching Trent run on the pitch during his matches every weekend. She assumed he was trying just as hard with her. She assumed she was just as fast as him. Trent wasn’t going to tell her otherwise. It was fun and he wanted her to believe she was that fast, he wasn’t going to be the one to burst her bubble. He was off to training after you all would eat. You had your first appointment for your pregnancy with your doctor in a few short days. Today you planned on taking it easy and doing everything you could to avoid the anxiety you were feeling about that appointment. When the game of tag was finished and breakfasts were done you sat Teddy at the table to eat, getting her situated. Trent opted to stand at the countertop with you resting his chin onto your shoulder, one hand holding his shake, the other placed delicately over your stomach.
“Thank you for carrying another beautiful little baby for us.” Trent whispered only for you to hear, keeping his eyes locked on Teddy being her usual self, happily munching on the tiny pieces of pancakes you had cut up for her and a few strawberries.
“Think he or she will be beautiful like her?” You asked sheepishly. Not really as a jab or a dig at his ability to make a cute baby more from a place of personal insecurity. What if your next baby looked more like you and wasn’t as cute as Trent’s carbon copy swaying her head back and forth with dramatic ‘mmms’ at the table right now?
“Yeah, I mean it’s impossible for them not to be really. They’ll look like us.” He continued on and you hummed. “Look at me baby. Any baby of mine has a pretty good shot at being cute.” He teased turning your chin with his hand to look at his correctly defined cute face. You rolled your eyes at his, though accurate, obnoxious cockiness about his appearance. “And there is a 100% chance any baby of yours will be gorgeous, alright?” He confirmed.
“I guess.” You mumbled out letting your eyes flutter closed for a moment, still worried. Trent’s cute comments definitely made you feel mildly better. They were sweet but you couldn’t shake your nerves entirely.
“Looks aside, baby, because at the end of day that’s not really what I’m worried about, they are so lucky to have you as a mummy.” Trent cooed, turning you by gripping your hips, spinning you into him. You smiled up at him and pecked his lips draping your arms over his shoulders. “I didn’t know until I met you how bad I wanted this.  I didn’t know how important it’d be but this family, our children, I’ll do anything for us and more specifically you, pretty girl. You're everything, baby.” He cooed a particularly heavy and emotional comment.
“Yeah? I feel like everything was just in black and white till we had Teddy. Can you bear with a cheesy sentiment?” You looked at Trent with earnest eyes. He nodded, not entirely sure what he was signing up for but he’d always listen no questions asked. “I feel like my life was very static, it was all still photos with no movement and then I met you and it transformed into this movie. Everything began to flow and move. There was a score playing in each scene, like music. It just came to life and then when we had Teddy, it was like this gorgeous perfect movie flooded with color. I’m learning things all over again and appreciating them and the fact that I get to do it with you and her, I just keep falling in love with our life.  It’s different having a family of my own. It feels like I finally am…” you took a deep breath, snapping out of your emotions before finishing your soliloquy. “Healing.” You flicked your eyes that had been fixated out a window to the back garden through the monologue back to Trent.
“Wow… baby. Erm.” Trent blinked his eyes a few times, taken back by your really heartfelt and almost heartbreaking confessional. “I mean… you know I’m not as articulate with my words as you are so as much as I like to win I don’t think I could compete with that because honestly you speak as beautiful as you look, baby.” He dropped his hands around your waist and over the curve of your ass to the back of your thighs picking you up and placing you to sit on the countertop. He stepped in between your legs and cupped your face, coming closer. “I feel the exact same way. I couldn’t express it better but baby… I don’t think you realize that you’re the reason things in life began to transform into moving colors. You’re the one that brought on this metamorphosis. You’re not the girl I met on 78th street. You’re everything I imagine that girl wanted to be. You’re so strong. What you’ve been through, whether it be the physicality of bringing a child into this world or the strength you’ve shown to heal and manage your health. You’re so brave. You always tell me I am after big matches and that you're proud of me but honestly comparably it’s nothing to what you do day in and day out. I couldn’t be more proud of you simply for just being you.  Baby, what you provide Teddy and I is immeasurable. You are invaluable and you deserve to be living in a kaleidoscope world of color that I, by some higher power, got to be the lucky man that gets to give that to you and I hope I do.” Trent kept his voice quiet and despite your attempt to keep your tears at bay, they disobeyed your intentions and tumbled down your cheeks. You wrapped yourself around Trent and just breathed him in.
“You do, T. I love you so much.” You pulled away from your hug with a smile and started to giggle. Trent looked at you with a confused smirk. “What the fuck was that? That was so emotional.” You kept laughing. You and Trent went from having breakfast to baring your souls. You wiped your face and Trent followed in your hands wake with his thumb catching a few stray tears.
“What’s wrong, mama? Why sad?” Teddy yelled out, concerned seeing you and Trent. She pushed her little pink plate with a bit of food left on it forward away from her.
“I’m okay, Teddy girl. Just talking to daddy. Are you all done?” You cooed, turning towards her and hoping off the counter. You went to move past Trent but he grabbed your arm and pulled you back into a bear hug swaying you back and forth.
“Ted, do you know how much I love mummy?” Trent asked her, kissing your head in between words. Teddy hummed a disinterested ‘yeah huh.’ He released you after a few more kisses you weren’t complaining about. You went over to Teddy and sat in the seat next to her high chair.
“Hey, mummy.” Trent called for you as he grabbed a water from the refrigerator for himself. “I liked that picture from the GQ shoot you gave me so I moved it from my car into my locker in the changies so I need a new one.” He explained walking over to the kitchen table. It was just a thing you did to make Trent smile one day. You had tucked a photo of you all into the visor on the driver's side in his car. Evidently he liked it enough to move it. It was common for footballers to keep a photo of their families in their spaces at the training center. You were fairly sure he already had one but you weren’t going to press. You’d happily give him more.
“Hmm. Okay, do you just want the same one or a different photo?” You asked him, watching him come towards you two at the table.
“Erm… doesn’t matter, I just need one that I look good in.” He cheekily replied and you rolled your eyes. “One that my baby bear looks adorable in.” He cooed, running his hand over Teddy’s head before he pulled a chair out and sat down with you two. You nodded in agreement. “And obviously one that you look beautiful in, got one of those for me, pretty girl?” Trent asked, sliding his chair closer to yours and reaching out to squeeze your thigh.
“Yeah, I can find one for you, T.” You smiled at him, placing your hand over his on your leg. “Can you have one more bite for me please, cutie girl?” You asked Teddy sweetly, pushing her plate back towards her. Trent picked up her little fork and picked one of the sliced strawberries up with it moving it to Teddy.
“No tank, dada. Done, mama, tay?” Teddy told you very matter of fact climbing off her chair. You furrowed your brow and turned to Trent. Teddy’s new found independence was a little funny but it also caught you fairly off guard every time it showed up.
“Oh.. okay, I guess bye.” You laughed as you watched her run out of the dinning room and lay herself flat on the hardwood floors next to your dogs. “How are we going to tell her?” You quietly asked Trent, keeping your eyes on Teddy with the dogs. She was talking to them like it was a mutual back and forth conversation.
“I don’t know, baby. How do you do that? Like does she know how that works? I don’t want her to know what we get up to.” Trent didn’t like the idea of Teddy being anything but his baby. It was clearly equally as perplexing to him as it was to you about the new hurdle you were about to tackle becoming parents for the second time
“Erm… no. Right?” You answered him quickly. You were open with Teddy. You weren’t avoiding the logistics of life, you’d explain things if she asked. You didn’t want her to be afraid to tell you or Trent anything. You wanted her to be comfortable but Trent… well, Trent wasn’t all that comfortable about the idea that Teddy would ever grow up to be anything but his little girl, bundle of joy, pure, naive, angelic. He wanted her to stay that way forever if it was possible.
“I don’t know, I can't imagine that. I mean we have to be realistic. I don’t want any of the stork shit. She’s smarter than that so I think we tell her honestly. Like I want her to know what's up but also not what her parents get up to, does that make sense? I don’t… God, baby, I don’t know.” Trent babbled almost confusing himself more.
“Well obviously. I’m not gonna be like oh daddy and I fuck, am I?” You quipped with an obnoxious smile. Trent rolled his eyes at your dramatics. “This is when I feel like a fucking child. We’re parents and I have no idea how you do something like this.” You echoed his babbling, leaning your head onto his shoulder feeling the weight of raising a child with a second in the house approaching.
“Baby, alright. Just relax.” He hummed caressing your sides. “She’s smart, she'll understand it. I guess we just google what to do because I’m not fucking asking my mum how she told me.” Trent laughed and you followed him agreeing that you didn’t want to ask your parents either. This was something you’d have to do your own way. It was your family and you two dictated how you’d run the show in your own house. You assumed you might have to do this again at one point or another if you survived having two.
“I can’t believe I’m pregnant. Like I am right?” You whispered to Trent hesitantly asking him. It was obvious you were but a part of you was both apprehensive and eager to get to your doctor's appointment.
“Baby, we’ve taken literally like 10 tests here and have the appointment so soon. I am pretty damn sure though.” He whispered back with a breathy laugh.
“I know, I just.. I don’t know.” You sighed, hiding your face in his neck. You heard Teddy scream chasing one of the dogs. You could hear them scamper across the hardwood floors. “Think we’re ready for one more?” You asked Trent with a smirk pulling at your lips seeing Teddy round the couch with a giggle. Trent hummed confirming that he thought you were before kissing your temple.
You walked into the cinema after Trent had come home from training later that day after you had put Teddy down for her last nap before dinner. He was sat back on a big lounger reclined with a massage gun working it over his thigh muscles haphazardly and lazily. December was always such a busy month for him with football and his body was starting to feel it. Even after the work he’d do at AXA for recovery with staff he still needed more. He was sore and tired.
“My poor baby.” You cooed, coming to stand in front of him with a pout. He gave you a sleepy smile and beckoned you to come sit with him by a simple head gesture. “Need my help?” You asked, coming to the end of his seat and then crawling towards him. You slid both of your hands up his thighs moving them high up to his groins. You took the massager out of his hand before he even had answered you.
“Yeah, I need you, baby.” He sighed. He let his head drop back onto the cushion behind him. You did this a fair bit with him. When Trent was too tired after a match or training, you’d do anything for him. He didn’t even ask, you’d do it unprovoked more often than not. Sometimes you’d sit at the end of the bed or even on the floor at the end of the couch rubbing his feet, things like that. You didn’t mind, you wanted to do it. You held your pouty bottom lip between your teeth after you turned the massage gun back on. You focused on moving it in just the way you knew he liked as you kneeled, resting your ass back on your heels in between his legs. Trent had his eyes almost closed until he realized that the view in front of him wasn’t one he wanted to miss. The way you were bent over massaging him dressed in your skimpy tank top had your boobs practically falling out of it. You definitely fell into a category of women whose boobs tended to change during pregnancies. Trent wasn’t complaining. He tried to be coy but he was shamelessly staring as your larger boobs jiggled with every movement, watching your hardened nipples press into the fabric. “Yeah, I really need you, baby.” Trent groaned quietly and at first you didn’t realize it was anything other than a confirmation that maybe he felt better having someone else massage his sore muscles for him until he gently pulled down the soft fabric of your top letting your tits fall out. He pulled you up to him and swiftly wrapped his lips around one of your now exposed nipples. God, he felt so good. His tongue swirled around the perky bud. You were swollen and sensitive and this was turning you on an ungodly amount.
“Can I sit on your lap, T?” You asked him after minutes of pleasure what sounded fairly innocent but you both knew what you were asking for was more than a place to sit. You could feel your panties getting progressively more soaked. Your hormones were a mess lately. You couldn’t contain your desire for him.
“Nah, i want you to turn around f’me.” He instructed you and so you did, slightly confused but you’d always listen. You sat in between his legs facing forwards, your back to his chest with your top pulled down. He wasted no time, pulling said top over your head though leaving you in nothing. “Tell me you want me to?” He asked you as if you knew what he was talking about. You turned your head back to him and in the smirk pulling on his lips you knew he was up to something both no good and simultaneously amazing. You nodded sheepishly, biting your lip apprehensively not sure you were agreeing to. “Open your legs, yeah?” His eyes had a lust burning behind them. Hisone hand pulled one of your thighs helping you. He turned the massage gun back on and what he was about to do pinged in your brain immediately. You whimpered when he moved your panties to the side using the pulsating ball of the gun.
“Oh my fucking god, T.” You whined when Trent pressed the button of the massage gun once again. The speed of the vibrations increased. You bucked your hips into nothing but the gun’s vibrations, moaning. He was fucking loving this. You could feel warm liquid from your soaking wet pussy run down the inside of your legs.
“Can I speed it up a little more, hmm?” He hummed and you whined. You were practically shaking as you felt your orgasm come closer. “Gonna be a good girl?” He asked you as he pressed down on the button to turn the vibrations up again. You nodded as he did it. Your back arched off of his chest. Shockwaves ran through your entire body while he moved the ball of the gun from your clit down to play with your entrance and then back up and around your clit.  Your orgasm came crashing over you unannounced. You could feel your juices leak from you but you couldn’t think straight to even care or even speak up to tell Trent you were cumming. He knew you well enough to know that’s what this was, in fact, he knew before you even had. He pressed the button once more to turn the massager back down to its original, lower, thank god, setting. Your chest heaved as you came down from your high, your clit still pulsating.
“T, baby, please.” You whimpered as you pushed off of him, sitting up right. You were desperate for more. He just set you off. You turned around, placing your hands onto his shoulders swinging one of your legs over his lap and straddling him. Trent’s cock was painfully hard after watching you cum like that.  In quick succession, you pulled his length out from his joggers. You took his throbbing cock and ran the tip of it through your folds.
“Go ‘head, pretty girl.” Trent smiled loving how needy you were for him. You nodded, taking his instructions, guiding his cock into your wet pussy’s entrance. Your eyes fluttered closed as you slowly began to slid down, taking every inch of him. “Fuck me, baby. Feel so good f’me.” He groaned feeling you around him.
“Oh my god.” You moaned. No matter how insane of an orgasm he just gave you with a massage gun, nothing would ever compare to how good he felt inside you. He dipped his head lower, kissing down your neck all the way to your exposed chest. He wrapped his lips around one of your already sensitive nipples. He groaned, biting your nipple, pulling on it with his teeth. You whined even more. You were gone. Trent had you a complete mess. He had your ass in his big hands. He slapped one of your asscheeks. The sound of his hand smacking against your skin and the squelch of you riding him was beyond lewd. The way you slid up and down on his cock was pure bliss for Trent. He didn’t want this to stop but the way your pussy clenched again and again had him dangerously close to cumming. His length was covered in your slick, it was a  pornographic sight. The veins in Trents neck pulled as he groaned trying to not finish just yet. He leaned your body back and thrusted up into you while you continued to bounce on top of him holding onto his shoulders. You made eye contact with him through hooded eyes as he fucked into you. Your nails dug into his skin, leaving behind crescent shapes, trying to hold off on your high till he told you you could cum.
“Fucking hell, baby. Cum with me, yeah? Cum, baby. I need to cum inside you.” Trent growled, pulling you back into his embrace, nuzzling his face into the nape of your neck. He bit down into your skin. You whined his name repetitively as you came around him, falling apart, your pussy tightening and throbbing all at once. He groaned, releasing his warm cum inside you. Your body collapsed into his. You ran your hands over his hair delicately despite your heart still racing.
“I love you so much, T.” You whispered, breathing the scent of him in. You laid into him limply as you both tried to regulate your heavy breathing.
“My baby.” He kissed your skin. “That felt so fucking good. God, I love you, beautiful.” He whispered, dragging you off him to cup your face in his hands. He looked deep into your eyes before he kissed you. You smiled into the kiss and pulled away with a giggle. You weren’t expecting your assistance post training to turn into all that.
“C’mere, beautiful.” Trent pulled at your bare waist when he came home from training the following day. You were changing into a new outfit for a dinner you were going to tonight. He dragged your semi lingerie clad body back a little bit into him after he had come into your wardrobe. You were inspecting a romper you were holding up that you had thought you had wanted to wear but were now second guessing it.
“I don’t want to be fat again.” You sighed sadly turning to him with a childish pout as you pulled the off the shoulder light pink romper over your body.
“Baby, you have never been fat. If you’re talking about just changes because of the pregnancy… You’re carrying a baby, sweetheart. It’s so beautiful, really. You’re so beautiful.” He gripped your shoulders, turning you back to look at yourself in the mirror. He kissed your collarbone from behind leaning over you. “Look at you, gorgeous girl.” He slid his hands down your sides a few times before landing on your hips and squeezing them.
“I look horrible. It’s just the worst part of the whole thing.” You sighed running your own hands over the front of the romper to flatten its material down to your stomach that was still flat but just the thought of what was to come was already upsetting you. It was far from true but you felt like you could see the bump already.
“You could never. What your body is doing is an amazing thing.” You rolled your eyes at Trent’s honest and sweet words that unfortunately weren’t enough to sway you. You scoffed a little at a kiss to the back of your shoulder and his sincere sentiment. “Well, you’re just in such a good mood today, huh?” He laughed. “Gimme a kiss, make you feel better.” He cooed, turning you around once more.
“You’re hilarious.” You sighed defeatedly. He was amazing, you were just easily deflated by the idea of your appearance changing. A lot of women loved pregnancy and embraced the natural beauty of it all but you didn’t have a ton of that around you. You had your mum who immediately monitored your appearance from the second before to the second after you gave birth and all the way though, Lauren and Winnie who were actively avoiding pregnancy, walking around with arguably 10/10 bodies, and Dianne who would do anything to convince you that you were beautiful, but your put that off to you just being her daughter in law. It was a slightly confusing jumble of support.
“Let’s think of all the fun things… c’mon.” Trent gently suggested kissing your forehead.
“What? like not sleep…” You snapped unnecessarily harshly, turning away from him to go look for the shoes you wanted to wear with your outfit tonight.  You combed through shelves of shoes frustrated, unable to find the silver pair of Aquazzura heels you wanted.
“Aw, baby don’t do this” Trent groaned trying his best not to get frustrated with you. You hadn’t even found out ‘officially’ about your pregnancy yet and this was how your mood was. He’d be lying if he said he wasn’t thrilled by the possibility of nine months of this type of attitude. He just gave you a gentle smile trying not to deep it too much.
“Well you’re not the one…” You began to start another snappy comment. “Nevermind, I’m sorry.” You exhaled with a sad smile seeing him sit down on an ottoman in the wardrobe patient as ever ready to listen. “Hi…” You pouted at him. “I missed you all day.” You sulked feeling sorry for being so short tempered with him after he was nothing but kind. You came and sat on his lap, draping your arms over his shoulders. You snuggled into him.
“There she is. Hi, baby.” He kissed your temple. “Missed you so so much. I missed you all day and I will next week, you know. So can you please come with me?” Trent segued into his quest to get you to go to Milan with him. You both had been invited to the Prada Spring/Summer Fashion Show. Since your British GQ article came out your status just socially really took off. You were getting invites, your following on Instagram skyrocketing even more, PR requests for more opportunities came flooding in. God bless him, Tyler was helping you out in the meantime but simultaneously trying to get you set up with an agency to work with because he and Trent didn’t really have the resources in the women’s fashion world that were relevant for who and what you were getting requests about.
“No, I don’t think so, T.” You shyly and selfishly told him. You had decided to go, then not go, then go, and now were currently in a ‘not go’ phase. It was all very exciting initially, slightly overwhelming, sure, but since the whirlwind change of going from simply a mum to a pregnant woman with a 2 year old made you less interested in flying around for shows or frivolous trips down to London for dinners with brands. You were of course grateful and flattered you were invited but leaving Teddy and additionally getting dressed up, trying to look good when you felt anything but, like you’d already gained weight, when your self confidence was plummeting, when your skin felt less than, it was just too much. “Everyone is just going to say I gained weight.” You oversimplified your mind's tornado of thoughts, looking at him with a lot of fear behind your eyes.
“You haven’t.” He confirmed. He actually completely disagreed. He thought you looked great, You looked gorgeous with a more healthy glow than usual, in fact. You visibly didn’t look all that different from a month or so ago till this moment. No real physical signs of pregnancy had really begun to show but maybe there had been a bit of a placebo effect happening in the mirror now that you knew..
“I have, I’ve been weighing my…” You started talking and then trailed off as Trent’s eyes grew wider with inquiry, a little shocked and frankly, annoyed to hear that you were doing something he really hoped you’d forgotten about entirely.
“Baby…” He cautioned you. He was fairly stern, hanging on to the things you’d promised you’d keep to for your health, for the health of his child’s mother, for the health of your relationship, really. He hated the idea of ‘tough love’ with you but he cared enough to do it.
“T… I had to know.” You poorly defended your actions, falling back into unhealthy ways. You were using your fluctuating emotions as an excuse to swerve back into old habits that provided a bizarre form of solace for yourself. It gave you an uncomfortable feeling of comfort. It was a semblance of control you were able to create. You needed to know.
“You don’t. Baby, you do not. Come on, we have to manage this better, Y/N. I’m not doing all that again. I’m so serious. I love you and it’s just not happening again.” Trent was very very serious. He was not messing about. Now that he knew what was at risk, what happened after Teddy was born, your essential collapse, not a shot in hell he was letting you two fall anywhere back near that place. “How can I help? How can I make you happy, just for today? We’ll deal with tomorrow, tomorrow. Let me help.” He asked you, insisting you let him in. He ran one of his hands up and down your back.
“Can I just have a kiss please.” You sighed and asked him with a childish pout. You knew Trent would baby you if you even gave him a sliver of space to do so. He was ready to give some sort of ‘tough love’ but the way you batted your lashes and your bottom lip rolled, had him crumbling almost every time.
“Always. C’mere beautiful. C’mere.” He cooed, pulling you gently by the back of your neck with his big hand into a soft kiss. He hummed loving the feeling of your lips on him and you definitely didn’t disagree.
“Will you be mad if we have another girl?” You asked a little nervously. You couldn’t control anything like the gender of your baby so asking for his opinion was a little bit of a doomed thing to do. That said, no matter what he’d say you weren’t sure you’d believe him either way. You knew he loved being a girl dad but a part of him and yourself of course wanted a little boy.
“Nah, we just have to keep trying don’t we?” He teased trying to lighten the mood, pecking your lips once more with a cheeky smile. Your face didn’t change so he quickly kept talking. “I’m joking baby… absolutely not. Look how beautiful Ted is, how beautiful you are. I’d love another Alexander-Arnold girl in my life.” He told you honestly and you took a deep breath thankful. Even if he wasn’t being totally truthful you appreciated him saying that. You think he was being honest though.
“What should I wear tonight?” Trent asked you a bit later on as you were finalizing your look for your dinner date with him with lip gloss in the en-suite of your bedroom. He evidently hadn’t gotten dressed yet despite your initial plan to leave the house in 10 minutes.
“T…” you laughed. “Are you serious? I thought you were ready to go?” You asked him, staring back at him leaned against the door frame behind you still in his joggers through the mirror. He just winked back at you. “You’re lucky you’re pretty.” You teased.
“Pretty and in need of my pretty girl’s help so...” He cooed, waiting for you to give him the assistance he was looking for.
“The blue Rhude knit shirt I got you, please!” You called out as he had already turned to leave the en-suite to go into your wardrobe. He hummed as you layered a coat of the shiny gloss over your plump pink bottom lip.
“Can I wear Dior pants? You know those ones…” He yelled his fairly vague question for you to hear. Despite his vagueness you knew what he meant. You smacked your glossy lips together with a smile. Trent had done a full 360 on his opinion on your help with his clothing. Yes, 360. He had initially let you help him, to try to get in your good graces because he had a crush on you, he wanted to show you he respected you. Then as you got more comfortable in your relationship, he tried to hold his ground. He could feel himself slipping, that he had no backbone when it came to you. Even if he knew that your suggestion was the better option, he’d stay with his choice just to prove a point. He was stubborn and you loved him for that. Now? Now, he wanted you to do it all the time. He preferred you to pick for him.
“I like those if you want but I’d kind of prefer a navy pant. Can you do the blue Prada ones? I like them better with like the LV cream and white trainers.” You rattled on and Trent smiled listening to you as he combed through his things looking for what you were instructing him to wear. Minutes later as you were rushing to throw everything in your Pucci bag, he came out changed and somehow ready before you.
“I did good, no?” He smiled big like a little kid proud of his look that you had put together as if he had done it all on his own.
“Yeah, very good, baby.” You laughed and he hummed victoriously. “Going to give me any credit? You know people used to pay me to do this?” You told him with a smug face waiting for your kudos.
“You always know what looks best but is it the clothes or is it me though?” Trent cooed and you rolled your eyes at his cockiness. He came towards you and wrapped his arms around your waist. “How am I meant to afford you though? You're priceless, baby.” He kissed your hair. You gave him one more eye roll even though your heart was fluttering at the things he was saying to you. “Fine, fine, I’ll pay you for your services, hmm? Promise. Taking you out to dinner, who says I don’t have a little gift for my baby, and I absolutely promise when we get home... I’ll give you one of my best services in return, yeah?” He kept talking, letting his voice drop lower and closer to a whisper coming to press his lips to your ear. A shiver ran up your spine subsequently.
“Yeah… okay. I’ll accept all that. Still might be a little short but… It’s fine.” You tried your hardest  to focus on keeping the fun game of banter going and not get distracted by his switch up. You moved out of his hold heading to the door out of your room to the hall to leave for dinner.
“A little short! How!?” He yelped, chasing after you. He kept an offended face but he loved when you’d mess about with him.
“I gave you a child!” You snapped turning around to face him with a conniving grin.
“I gave you a child! That was a shared endeavor!” He rebuttled his correction as he wrapped his arms around you frantically dragging you back into the room with him walking backwards. “Hey, hey, hey. We made that little girl together. If you want I’ll refresh your memory on how we did it, alright?” He spoke with a cheeky smile that had your heart racing.
“Later. We have to go. I hate being late for reservations.” You pecked his lips, placing your hands on top of his and removing them from your body. You actually left the room this time successfully to get downstairs.
“I knowww.” He groaned having to readjust himself in his pants after your heated conversation.
“Can I start you off with some cocktails?” The waitress asked you. You were sat at a small table across from him in a dimly lit restaurant. The same type of lighting that he had looked so gorgeous in on your first date. The one that had you practically stuttering and hiding behind your hands or your cocktail. You felt the same unfairness looking at him. Even years later, he was stunning.
“Erm.. yeah... Oh no, wait actually, I’m okay, thank you though.” You stumbled through your answer momentarily, almost forgetting you were pregnant and couldn’t order the margarita you usually liked to order at this restaurant. Trent smiled, reaching out to brush his finger over your knuckles pretty happy for the reason you weren’t not drinking.
“And for you?” The waitress raised her eyebrow, practically licking her lips at Trent. She had this tone in the way she asked him that insinuated you were boring for not drinking. You wanted to stand up and tell her you were not drinking because the man, also your husband, she was currently undressing with her eyes fucked a baby into you but you would never, you certainly thought about though.
“No, we’re alright. Just two waters…” He paused. “Lemon?” Trent looked to you for confirmation so you nodded. “Yeah. Lemon, please. Thank you.” He sweetly nodded to her, flicking his gaze back to you.
“Ridiculous.” You teased him as the waitress left your table. You rolled your eyes at the situation.
“What?” He looked at you fairly confused and very naively because the look on your face was one of sincerity and familiarity he didn’t recognize why.
“Just the influx of women all day. How do you even know you want me when you have so many options?” You asked. It came out so bitter and insensitive. You didn’t mean to come off so harsh, it's just that it was a matter of fact, women came up to him all the time.
“Wow… erm.” Trent kind of choked getting out a response. He pinched the bridge of his nose and sighed.
“T, I…” You tried to explain through a stutter but he cut you off before you could even get out that you didn’t mean it as a jab.
“Nah, nah. I’m gonna answer because you clearly want to know.” He smiled at you with a confidence that made you feel a little insecure. You felt guilty it came out that way. You weren’t trying to be critical of him. You’d be lying if you said the attention from women didn’t bother you a little bit it wasn’t his fault. He never fed into it. “I know, baby, because you are the only woman I see. Don’t roll your eyes yet, alright?  Let me explain this. You are illuminated and they all are just dulled out in my vision. I barely even see them. They don’t have the same light behind their eyes. Their laughs don’t sound right. They don’t make my heart hurt when they leave. I can feel it when you're close by and they don’t feel right, their energy isn’t right for me. You're everything they don’t even know they aren’t. Everything you are is everything I’ve ever wanted.” He told you with certainty keeping his eyes locked on yours.
“Oh…” you sheepishly got out wanting to hide embarrassed but you kept your eyes fixed on him, feeling a bit more comfortable and braver than your first date. You didn’t want to look anywhere but those perfect brown eyes.
“I get an ‘oh’ in response?” He laughed a little at your shyness teasingly. You had more on your mind but that was the only word that would come out.
“No I just…” You didn’t know what to say or how to articulate it maybe. You felt flustered like you were just meeting all over again. You looked at him with doe eyes feeling insecure despite the massive rock on your finger telling you to feel otherwise.
“Baby, I don’t think you’ll ever understand what you do to me. Wrapped me around these dainty little fingers.” Trent smiled, pulling on your ring finger clearly on the same page as you. “It’s unfair what you do to me and I love every second of the inconsideration you unknowingly took on my heart.” He continued.
“I don’t know if I agree that I have that effect but I know that I feel that way about you.” You shyly said to him with a cheeky smile though. Trent shook his head disagreeing with your disagreement. “It’s strange, no? To feel so out of control about the way you feel for someone.” Your smile grew and you felt like so did the size of your heart.
“Yeah, like there’s nothing I can do. You got me, baby. No getting rid of me now because you’re all I want and I’m never living without you.” Trent gave you a smirk that made butterflies swarm your stomach.
“No, nothing at all.” You giggled. “Just completely at yours, pretty boy.” You smiled at him and Trent felt his heart falter just the same as he watched the warm candle light flicker across your face. “But that’s good you feel that way because I’m not leaving you so you’re stuck with me… well us too.” You smiled again, placing your hand on your stomach referring to you, your daughter Teddy, and your unborn little baby.
“I love you, beautiful… all of you.”  Trent cooed, keeping his eyes on you in the soft lighting. You were full and you haven't even eaten yet. You were full from the way he made your heart feel.
“More than you can imagine, T.” You responded with tears pushing their way to your lash line. You weren’t even sure if this merited the amount of emotion you felt but regardless you were feeling it. Maybe it was pregnancy or maybe it was him.
“Got you a little something.” Trent handed you a sizable familiar orange box across your table. He could have waited till you got home but Trent loved doing this. He wanted you to feel special. It made you feel special. You opened the box cautiously. A blue Hermes blanket embroidered again with ‘Baby Alexander-Arnold’ on it.
“Oh…” You whimpered out. Maybe this did warrant the tears that were now about to spill over your lash line.
“You and Ted like the one we got for her, you know and I want this baby and mummy to be happy and cozy together as well the same way. I also thought it was special last time. We could get one for every kid and I just… Do you like it?” He asked you a bit shyer than you were expecting considering how much you did love it.
“T, it's perfect.” You officially started crying. You were quiet but clearly a bit overtaken by the emotion and how sweet Trent was, not just tonight but all the time, every day.
“Wow, that's so chic.” The waitress came back to the table to check on you interrupting an intimate moment. This was the first thing for your new baby.
“Sorry, do you mind if we have a moment?” Trent snapped fairly quickly to her. It was still polite but he kept his eyes locked on yours. You smiled considerately. Your favorite moment in the world, selfishly, was when Trent put you above anyone. It wasn’t about anyone else right now but you two.
You changed when you got home, tired of being in your heels. You sat cuddled up to Trent back in the cinema kissing on his soft skin as he watched a NBA game on the big screen, it’s blue light filling the dark room. You had no idea who was even playing in the game. Your face was buried in the nape of his neck until a thought popped into your head.
“What’s your favorite way to kiss me?” You smiled into another kiss against him with a hum.
“What a question. I’m pretty happy with what you’re doing right now but the way I kiss you? I don’t know, baby. Just when it’s soft, slow. I get to hold you nice and tight to me. Even though it’s gentle, when it's still heated and I know this sounds stupid but I can feel that you love me. Those are the ones for me.” He explained his answer to you in probably a more thoughtful way than you were expecting. Although, that seemed to be the theme of the night. You hummed and wrapped your arms around him a little tighter, giving him a squeeze before moving one of your hands up under his t-shirt continuing on with your task of kissing his neck simultaneously now rubbing your hand over his abs. “I really do like the ones though when I’m inside you and we're having a kiss and you moan into me. Oof baby, I don’t know… that gets me going. Biting on my lip a little as well. That’s up there for sure.” He smiled, dropping his gaze towards you.
“T, baby…” you whined a little nibbling up his neck, littering his skin with kisses coming up to his jawline, moving towards his lips.
“I love when you call me that.” He whispered to you moving your face off from him so he could turn his and look directly at you. He kept your cheek cupped in the palm of his hand.
“Yeah?” You asked in a slightly childish tone but it was also laced with seduction. You kissed the inside of his wrist.
“Yeah. I like ‘T,’ I like ‘baby,’ I mean ‘dada’ always makes me smile.” Trent filled you in on his preferred names that you’d call him.
“Daddy?” You teased him.
“Yeah I mean fine, in the context of Ted but that’s more jokes between you and me.” He laughed trying to play it off like you hadn’t seen lust wash over him in the times you’d called him that in private.
“Is it? Because I think it turns you on.” You giggled with a cheeky smile giving him a bit of a tease.
“I think it turns you on!” He yelped defending himself, turning your accusation back on you with an equally if not more cheeky smile.
“Depends on the context, you just turn me on.” You repeated his initial commentary. He hummed in agreement, pecking your lips.
“Nah, but I do like when I get you to fall into this voice. It’s just for me. You slow. It’s breathy like you’re begging for something but it’s sweet and playful. Baby, I’m telling you now, you just got me down. Everytime you know exactly what I want to hear and how I want to hear it.” He cooed with a glint in eyes as his thumb gently caressed your cheek.
“T, baby.” You cooed in just the tone of voice he was talking about unintentionally. It was soft and sexy, sincere and innocent.
“That’s it, that's the one. Gets me every fucking time. That name. Only one in my life that’s ever called me that. And that tone is… just god.” He trailed off getting lost in the thought of you.
“Oh, you like that? Like when I’m in your ear whining your name T, baby.” Your purposefully pushed yourself into him a little more saying it again. Your hands dropped towards the waist of his joggers. You teased him, dragging your nails over his abs.
“We’re going upstairs.” He quickly told you, disregarding his plan to watch this basketball game. He scooped you up like he did your 25 pound daughter, throwing you over his shoulder. You giggled excited for the rest of your night. He smiled as he jogged up the stairs holding you.
“It’s so good to see you again!” A nurse came into the room you were seated anxiously in. You weren’t sure if she actually recognized you or if she simply just remembered the last name and Trent’s memorable but also famous face. You definitely remembered her though. She was sweet and super helpful through your entire pregnancy with Teddy.
“Yeah, course. We’re excited to be here.” Trent eagerly responded, squeezing your hand in his. He was beaming. You were trying to be a bit more tame. You were nervous and not in the way he was. Trent was nervous, of course, but more about like your actual health than your capability to be a parent. He knew you both would be great. You were a bit more apprehensive about the concept of having two kids. You went through the formalities of the appointment. Second by second it ticked by and you just had a feeling as the transducer glided over your stomach with the cold gel that you knew the gender. You could feel it. You had a hunch but you didn’t share it with Trent ahead of the appointment. As the images filled the screen, you could hear your baby's heartbeat. The emotions became overwhelming. You thought you’d be prepared for this having done it once before. You were not.
“I'm here, baby.” Trent whispered to you. Tears started to roll down your cheeks as you laid staring back at Trent. He wiped his thumb under your eye catching them like he always did. He kissed your temple softly.
“So you’re coming in a little later this time I think. You’re already about 10 weeks along. It’s good you’re here though.” The nurse spoke gently, looking between you and Trent. Your eyes widened a bit, taken aback.
“I’ve been pregnant for like… months…” You muttered back shocked. “I wasn’t like taking care of… I didn’t know.”  You were trying to reflect back and think about what was going on two months ago. You were panicking thinking about if you had somehow messed something up already with this pregnancy. The nurse kept speaking to you about how essentially you were fine. You weren’t able to focus though you were combing through the events of the last couple week but Trent was. Two months ago it was early November and Winnie had visited. That made you fairly nervous. You were trying to remember everything you did with her. Trent had a memory like an elephant though so he had the same thought but immediately felt at ease recalling that you asked him if he felt a little sick that night. You did so you opted not to drink. It didn’t even occur to you that just by your own body’s instinct you had been doing everything just fine.
“Well, congratulations Alexander-Arnold’s, looks like you’re going to have one of each. You’re going to have a baby boy!” The nurse cooed sweetly. You had blacked out everything but the sound of your baby’s heartbeat until you heard her say that.
“Nah, nah, nah. No way.” Trent was shocked. He had mentally prepared himself to hear he was going to have another girl. The tears that slowly leaked from the corner of your eyes just began to flood as you sat up a little. The disbelief in Trent’s face made you giggle. His head snapped from the nurse to you. “Holy shit, baby.” He exhaled with a bewildered expression. His eyes watered. He cupped your face and pressed his nose against yours letting his eyes flutter closed.
“Going to have a little boy.” You pouted before pressing a kiss to his lips. “That okay, T?” You asked him even though you knew this was his dream.
“I… I … I don’t know what to say. Oh my god.” Trent ran his hands over his face trying to process wha he just heard. He puffed out a heavy breath. “I’ve never been happier in my life. I mean.. fuck.” He slapped his hand over his mouth. “Sorry.” He apologized to the nurse after he kept cursing but she waved him off. “I mean it's the same type of happiness but it’s so different then when we found out about Ted. Holy fuck. I can’t believe I get to have a son with you.” He shook his head and started to cry. Anytime Trent cried you knew it was seriously important to him.
“Yeah, our little son. Baby boy Alexander-Arnold. I hope he’s just like you, T.”  You pulled Trent down to squeeze him in a tight embrace. He held onto you while the doctor printed out the photos of the scan for you.
“I love you. I love you more than anything in the entire world. Thank you so much for carrying our little boy. I can’t wait for our family to grow. I’m so excited. I can’t believe we’re going to have a boy. Thank you, thank you.” Trent babbled just in complete and utter shock.
“Going to be another fall baby, I guess. Have to ask Winn about his astrology.” You cooed and Trent rolled his eyes. You laughed, kissing his cheek. Trent wasn’t exactly sold on the whole thing but Winnie was. It was something she lived her life by. You just wanted him to understand this baby would arrive in the fall. He was so taken aback that you were having a boy you weren't sure he’d put the math of the timeline together yet. He didn’t care when this baby arrived though. He was over the moon. The nurse handed you the photos of the scan of your baby. You held them inspecting your growing baby boy for the first time. Trent placed his hand on your stomach gently and hid his face in your neck a little overcome with emotion till. Having a son was unreal to him. It was something he had dreamed of. You knew he would never put pressure on your little boy but the idea he could potentially have a son who played football was everything he ever wanted. This was unbelievable that he’d even have the opportunity to even play footie in the back garden with his son. He, of course, would treat him and Teddy just the same but there was something special about having a son. The same way you felt something special about having a daughter. “I love you so much, T. You’re going to be the best daddy to him. I’m so happy, baby.” You hummed, finally feeling the excitement of this pregnancy seeing his reaction as you kissed his temple, holding him.
“I wonder what Teddy will think.” He pulled away from you with wet eyes and a smile. You smiled back and started to deep it. God, you hoped she’d be excited as you two were right now.
“You know that’ll be tough.” Trent cooed while driving as you sat in the passenger seat.
“What do you mean?” You asked him curiously with a smirk knowing it was going to be something close to ludacris.
“I mean he’s gotta live up to me? Tough no?” Trent explained, keeping his eyes fixed on the road.
“Stop.” You scoffed at him. You knew he was joking but also it did actually cross your mind when you heard what your little boy's life might end up like having to constantly be compared to Trent. You had already been pondering what to name him because originally you loved the idea of all your kids having ‘TAA’ initials but you also were worried about the ramifications or burden it might be to carry that name. It was different for Teddy. It felt like she had the protection of the surname where it felt like with a boy, your little boy, the surname might act more as a target against him.
“Nah, I’m being forreal though, I don’t want his mates teasing him for having a leng mum picking him up.” Trent kept a straight face. You had been worried about what it was like to have Trent as a dad whereas, even though he was joking about, he’d definitely clocked a worry he’d been harboring about how people looked at you. Not derogatorily about you at all. He wanted to protect you. He just knew how sensitive you were and how shitty people could be. He knew how you felt when people said things now like the ever circulating ‘with him for his money comment’ or ‘trapped him with babies’ narrative. He didn’t want anything like those types of things to affect your ability to be a mum and be present with them.
“Well, I mean you don’t think that will happen with Teddy’s guy friends?” You asked him with a cheeky smirk of your own.
“She’s not having guy friends. I don’t know what you’re on about.” Trent seriously responded and fast to your remark.
“Oh shush.” You swatted at him. It was a stupid comment but you also knew he kind of meant it.
“Nah never. Staying home with me every night. Ted doesn’t know boys exist.” He snapped with a bit of a laugh. Trent wanted Teddy to be his baby girl forever and that was becoming more and more apparent.
“Except she does. She’s surrounded by you lot all the time.” You informed him. Teddy was around boys and you 24/7. Between Trent, Marcel, Tyler, George, Jude, the list rattled on.
“That’s different. Boys are mad these days. I’m her dad and their uncles. Boys her age. Nah, absolutely not.  I’m talking when she’s like older, boys in her school year, absolutely not. They can’t be near her and they can’t look at her… or you. I couldn’t have seen what you look like now in bed when I was 13 or 14. I wouldn’t have been able to handle it, ya know?” Trent breathily laughed.  “Would’ve just wanked all day. Fucking hell.” He laughed a little more imagining his younger self seeing the images he got to see day in and day out in your bedroom. Frankly, even out of the bedroom.
“Ew, first, gross.” You giggled along with him thinking it was equally as funny. You rubbed your hand tenderly on his thigh. “Secondly, no one else is seeing what you’re seeing. Also, what I don’t have that effect on you now? Grown Trent isn’t as easily swayed?” You teased, questioning him sliding your hand higher up and higher up his leg.
“Nah, relax. I’m telling you now baby… it’s fucking work.” He sighed, shaking his head. “I’m fighting for my life out here, every day.” He groaned as you palmed over his hardening cock as he tried to focus on the task of driving, proving his point. You giggled moving your hand off him with a smug smile pretty content with yourself.
When Trent came home from another day after training. You were sitting on the couch minding your own waiting for him to get home. You were tired and catching up on an episode from a show you were watching on Netflix. You heard Trent come in through the garage door but you were too lazy to get up. He snuck in dropping his stuff and dragged his equally tired body on top of yours. He laid his entire weight on top of you. He just started kissing your skin all over, anywhere he could without a word.
“Hi.” You giggled wrapping your arms around his strong body rubbing your hands up and down his back covered by a jumper as he continued on his quest to kiss every inch of you. “That made me smile, T.” You told him. When Trent needed you, when he was soft with you, he didn’t ask for cuddles, he just took them and that was one of your favorite Trents.
“Do anything to make you smile.” He mumbled with his face staying buried in the nape of your neck.
“I love you, T. That made me really happy.” You gave him a cheesy smile as he pulled away to hold your face, stroking your cheek with his thumb.
“I love you, baby. Couldn’t wait to get back home to you.” He hummed kissing your nose.
“Did you see daddy’s home, Teddy girl?” You cooed a little louder for Teddy who was presumably still somewhere close by playing with the dogs. She heard you and came running and fast.
“Yeah daddy just got home and I am still waiting for my hello from my baby bear. How come you weren’t at the door?” Trent asked Teddy as she rounded the couch, giving her a tired but equally cheeky smile.
“I’m sorries I… I… was with doggies.” Teddy babbled out feeling guilty. She usually met Trent at the door. She liked to but she had gotten distracted today and your own laziness hearing him come in didn’t help.
“Ted, beautiful, I’m kidding. Come here. Did you give mummy a kiss today?” He called her over and reached out to her. He picked her up under her little arms and lifted her up onto the couch. He had moved off you and pulled her into his lap. He kissed her cheek. You smiled seeing them back together and laid your head onto his chest to listen to their conversation. She nodded that she had and she did. “How many?” He asked her one more question.
“Don’t knows, dada.”  She looked up at him with doe eyes with guilt washing over her again. She felt so bad she couldn’t remember.
“That’s not enough then is it?” Trent cooed with a gentle smile. He cupped her cheek. She smiled back at him with a little giggle sensing his teasing tone. Trent nodded towards you  encouraging her to go on.
“Mama here go.” Teddy cutely gave you a kiss. You laughed back at her with a thank you.
“Just one? You’re only going to give mummy one more!” Trent yelped, plopping her onto her feet. He stood up and began to chase Teddy around the couch. She squealed excitedly that he was home to play with her. You didn’t really have that vitality about you lately.  They both seemed to have endless energy, you didn’t feel that way. To be fair, one was under three and the other was a professional athlete. You couldn’t keep up… you were a pregnant woman.  You sighed though loving their laughs imagining what life would be like once your new addition arrived. You turned around and laid your arms onto the back of the couch. You rested your chin on top of them watching the cute chaos ahead of dinner ensue.
“Teddy girl, can you come here please?” You cooed while taking a seat on the couch in your living room. She was laying on the carpet playing with a few toys.  She picked her head up and nodded. You were entering the middle of your second trimester, just starting the month of May. You had an appointment with your doctor yesterday and decided with Trent that it was a good time to finally tell Teddy. You had decided that you’d tell your families in the middle of the month so you figured or at least you hoped your two and half year old could keep a secret for you till then, it was roughly 14 days, you thought she could. Trent had just come home. He was grabbing both you and him a drink before he came to sit with you to break the news Teddy wasn’t going to be an only child for much longer.
“Dada!” Teddy giggled, getting slightly distracted by his appearance in the room. She ran up to him and clung to Trent’s leg. He let her hold on while he dragged her with him to sit next to you.
“Yeah, yeah, yeah I’m here, hi, but come on. Mummy and I have to tell you something.”  Trent laughed at her overzealousness.
“Tay. Is it a secret?” She asked inquisitively. Letting go of Trent and pulling herself up onto the couch using his body like a jungle gym and crawling into his lap. She sillily laid out flat letting her head gently fall into your lap. It was strange but sweet that it was like she somehow subconsciously knew she couldn't be as rough with you anymore so she funneled all her energy into the way she’d grab at Trent.
“Yeah, my Teddy bear. It’s between you, daddy, and I, okay?” You explained starting to feel more emotional now seeing her looking like a real toddler in your lap. It was sort of sad she wasn’t your little baby any more. That she’d be your ‘oldest’ now.
“Tay tell! Dada tell!” She just about yelled pulling on your shirt sitting herself up. She wiggled her body to sit on Trent’s leg closet to you and draped herself around your neck in a hug.
“Okay, but it’s a secret, got it? You have to pinky promise, okay?” Trent smiled at her. She nodded and let go of you sticking her pinky out to him, something Trent had recently taught her to do. It was over ridiculous things and she often broke them to tell you about her promises with daddy or tell Trent about her promises with mummy. You hoped that the sacred binds of the pinky promise really stuck better this time. “ Good. Thanks, Ted. So mummy and daddy are really excited right now because there’s a baby growing in mummy’s tummy.” Trent just laid it out in the open brining his hand to gently rub over your stomach for her to understand. Your breath hitched a little. You had discussed this. This was the plan but you just weren’t ready to hear it or something. Trent had no fear. He definitely lived by the ‘just rip it off’ method.
“You’re going to have a little brother after summer time.” You explained to her the facts a little further, running your hand over her head. You gave her a sympathetic smile, praying she wasn’t going to be upset.
“Um…” Teddy hummed looking between you and Trent momentarily. “Whys?” She asked you two earnestly. It was better than maybe a ‘no’ you tried to tell yourself.
“What do you think, baby?” Trent asked her. You had consulted your doctor about best practices for telling a toddler and she had advised that letting them think about it would often help you navigate the conversation so you answered the questions they had.
“Don’t knows, dada.” She replied with a sad pout. Her face dropped. You could read her expression. It was as if she felt bad she didn’t know the answer, like it was something she should have known so you were quick to help her and reassure her it was fine.
“That’s okay, baby. We want there to be another member of our family because we love each other so much.” You emphasized the word so kissing her forehead. “Mummy and daddy made a baby and he’ll grow in my tummy till the end of summer then he’ll come out when he’s ready.” You explained a little more sheepishly than you would’ve liked. You laid your hand over your growing round belly for her to see. You hoped this was all making sense.
“Replacing me?” Teddy’s voice quivered as she asked you with a frown. Her eyes falling into the pools that would always break your heart.
“No, no, no, baby!  Just making you a best friend, okay?” You cooed fast, immediately making sure she understood that was definitely not the point of this. You wrapped her in your arms, pulling her into a cuddle. You ran your hand up and down her back gently.
“No, baby bear. We love you so much.” Trent reassured her, kissing her sad pout. “Did you know that Celly is daddy’s little brother? So you’ll have your own ‘Celly.’ Isn’t that cool?” Trent further explained the concept a little more. Teddy adored Marcel so making it out like she was getting something she really liked of her own hopefully would work as an enticement.
“Tay, like Celly.” Teddy nodded but kept a fairly stoic face. You could tell she was still processing but at least the tears that had welled were gone. She had the cutest expression of thought on her face. “What’s my celly doing in theres?” She asked, turning to you. Trent smiled victoriously, liking that his idea of broaching the baby as the concept of her getting a Marcel of her own had worked.
“Oh... erm, well your baby brother is just growing bigger and bigger until he’s ready to come out.” You cooed rubbing her little arms. “Do you think he's sleeping now or awake?”  You asked.
“I think he’s awake.” Trent interjected with his own opinion with a smile letting Teddy know this was a happy, fun thing they could talk about.
“Umm…” Teddy thought for a moment. “Think sleeps cause mama comfy.” She explained cuddling into you. You hummed pulling her into you more.
“Yeah, you’re right, Ted. Mummy is comfy, I think maybe he is then.” Trent cooed and Teddy nodded. “Is there anything else you want to know about your brother?” Trent asked her, rubbing his thumb over her chubby cheek.
“No, tank you.” Teddy cooed still ardently hugging you. Trent hummed accepting her answer but very aware that the following days, weeks, and months were going to be chock full of questions from her. “Mama…dada. Still love me with nother baby?”
“More than you can ever imagine, I promise. You have to promise me though that you’ll always be my baby bear, okay?” Trent pressed his nose to her with a silly smile. She giggled with another nod.
“Yeah. Mummy and daddy’s little Teddy bear forever. Baby, I will love you just the same. Maybe even more, okay beautiful? Going to be a good big sister for me?” You asked Teddy and she gave you a sweet ‘tay.’
“Mama?” She looked up at you. You smiled at her and hummed a ‘mmhm.’ “Be big sissy like mama with WinWin?” She asked you and your heart just about shattered. Obviously Trent’s explanation of having a sibling relating it to his relationship with Marcel stuck. She’d been thinking about it more and more since he mentioned it. You tried to hum an answer but couldn’t contain your tears. You sniffled unable to talk.
“Yeah, baby. You can be just like mummy and be the best big sister like her, okay? Do you want to be like mama?” Trent was quick to act, pulling both you and Teddy into him. He kissed your temple.
“Yeah huh, be like mama. Mama best.” Teddy cooed and you just kept crying. She didn’t know why but Trent got it. It was half that you were emotional about your daughter wanting to be like you and thinking highly of you and half that you were just pregnant and emotional.

It's nearing ten o’clock at night and James Conrad is standing on your doorstep.
You didn’t even think he was in the country—last you’d heard, he was somewhere in Vietnam. Not that he was exactly keeping you apprised of his movements. The nature of his work means that he turns up or calls unexpectedly and sends letters inconsistently. It’s something that you’ve grown used to over the years—you’ve had no other choice, really.
The question, though, of whether or not you’ll be waiting for him is not really a question so much as it is an inevitability. Of course you will. You always will. Like it or not, the man is your weakness, your Achilles heel, the crack in your armor.
Your hands shake as you fumble with the latch and chain and open the door.
There’s a moment where you catch his first, unguarded expression—a flicker of relief, so quick you might miss it if you didn’t know him as well as you do. It strikes you as odd—you’d expect him to be glad to see you, perhaps, but relieved? Not necessarily. Especially not after the last time you’d seen him—that disastrous Christmas two years ago when wine and seasonal sadness had prompted you to say more than you intended about your feelings for him.
He’d said you were better off as friends.
It still stings, even thinking of it now. You haven’t spoken of it since. He hadn’t been back since then, either—that in and of itself wasn’t necessarily unusual for him, but you couldn’t help but wonder if there was more to his absence this time around.
Before you can think about whether it’s a good idea, you’re stepping forward to embrace him. You always forget how tall he is, how he takes up space and towers over you, how that makes you feel small and safe. He still smells the same—Ivory soap with a hint of cloves and a little bit of musk—and your name still sounds too good in that deep purr of a baritone.
“It’s good to see you,” he says into your ear.
Is it just you or is he holding you awfully tight?
It’s probably just you. Isn’t that the sad theme of all of this? Just you with the feelings, just you with the broken heart. Just you, secretly pining for him since university and having it all come to nothing. Just you. Alone as always.
“You too,” you say, even though seeing him makes all the old bruises and scars on your heart ache with a renewed fervor. You release him and gesture to your door. “Come in.”
You notice a cut on his left cheek, a small, yellowing bruise blooming around the edges of it. It must be a few days old. He carries a duffle bag slung over his back—a huge, beat up leather thing he’s had since university. He sets it on the floor as you lock up behind him.
“What are you doing here?” spills out of your mouth before you can think about how it sounds, despite the fact that your eyes are drinking him in like he’s water in a desert. “I thought you were in Vietnam.”
“Pacific,” he says. There’s a slight shadow in his expression, like there’s something he doesn’t want to say. “Just got back this evening.”
“Do you want tea?” It’s the only thing you can think to do.
“Please,” he says.
You don’t need to ask him how he takes it because you know. English Breakfast, splash of cream, no sugar. You could make it in your sleep.
You busy yourself in the kitchen, fishing out a packet of shortbread biscuits from the back of your cupboard while the kettle boils. Out of habit, you take out the pair of chipped mugs you’ve had since university. You’d unintentionally taken one from the refectory during a particularly sleepless week in the middle of exams and been too embarrassed to return it. He’d teased you about it at first, but he had then stolen his own mug the following week in what he described as “solidarity with your crimes.” When you moved into your first apartment, he’d given you his as a housewarming gift.
“This could really hurt my career if they found out about it,” he’d said solemnly as his eyes danced with barely repressed laughter. “I thought it would be best to give it to you for safe keeping.”
You’d rolled your eyes and laughed at him then, but you always wrapped them extra carefully when you moved—as though by keeping those mugs whole, you could also keep Conrad safe.
The faint ghost of a smile that you catch when you bring the tea and biscuits out to the living room warms your heart and gives you a little spark of hope. Perhaps all isn’t lost. Maybe things can go back to the way they were before that disaster of a Christmas.
You set the mugs and shortbread down on the table and take your seat next to him on the couch.
Your tea is still too hot, but you pick it up anyway, just to give your hands something to do. Maybe the slight sting of the hot ceramic against your palms will help you keep you grounded.
“I presume you’re not telling me where in the Pacific for a reason,” you say.
He nods. “Correct.”
He looks tired, you think. There’s a tightness in his jaw that’s new, a distant look in his eyes that seems different than his usual brand of stoicism. You want to be annoyed by his lack of detail, but the weariness makes you pause.
“Are you all right?” you ask.
His laugh is short and humorless. “As I ever was.”
You tilt your head. “That’s not really an answer.”
He exhales, running a hand through his hair. “It was a difficult job.” He pauses for a moment, his gaze sliding to the wall across the room, to a landscape painting you’d found at a thrift shop. “I didn't know if I’d make it back, to be quite honest.”
You’ve never seen him like this before and it’s somewhere beyond disorienting. Conrad is ruthlessly capable and appropriately confident; the idea of something being beyond his skill set is baffling as it is unsettling.
“I’m glad you did,” you say softly.
You expect him to give you a slight half smile, perhaps nudge his shoulder against yours. But instead, his gaze remains fixed on the middle distance, an odd, melancholy sort of cast to his blue eyes.
“You don’t really seem like you’re all right,” you say gently.
There at last is that little half smile that you were expecting. Somehow, it’s less comforting than you thought it would be.
“There’s a certain amount of clarity that you get from an experience like that,” he says evenly. “You're forced to confront a lot of things. Choices you’ve made. People you’ve hurt.”
You think he’s referring to what happened two years ago and you try not to flinch. He can’t know that you still think about that, that you’re still hurting. That you haven’t stopped loving him, even though you’ve pretended that you have.
He pauses for another moment, worrying his bottom lip between his teeth. “In the moments when I thought I wasn’t coming back, the only thing I could think about was you.”
Air vanishes from your lungs. You’re afraid to even hope, as if even acknowledging the possibility would jinx it.
“What do you mean by that?” you ask, your voice barely louder than a whisper.
He finally looks at you and your heart creeps into your throat. “I was not entirely honest with you at Christmas.”
You realize that you’re holding your breath, but you can’t help it.
“I thought that by turning you away, I was keeping you safe,” he says. “I thought by hiding the truth, I was saving you from a lot of pain.”
Your heart is pounding. You lick your lips. If he means what you hope he means, you need to hear him say it—you can’t believe it otherwise.
“And what is the truth, James?” Your voice wobbles just a little bit.
His gaze is locked on you, infinite as the stars. “The truth is that I’ve been in love with you for years,” he says softly. “And when I thought I wasn’t coming back, all I could think about was how much I regretted not telling you.”
In the moments leading up to this, it felt as though time was slowing. This is the moment, though, where everything stops. In this moment, it’s just the two of you—Conrad with those devastating blue eyes that peer right into your soul and you with your broken heart and wounded pride.
He wanted you all this time.
You raise a shaking hand to wipe away the tear that’s somehow escaped the corner of your eye.
All this time.
“You have every right to be angry with me.” His voice is low and soft, just for you to hear. “And I understand if you need time. But I came here tonight to tell you that if you still want me, I’m yours.”
You are feeling entirely too much. You want to kiss him. You want to scream at him. You want to hold him and never let go.
All this time.
“James, I—” Your voice catches in your throat and you take a deep breath, fighting back a sob that’s bubbling in your chest. You set your tea back down on the table. Your hands are shaking.
“I—I don’t even know where to start. I—” Your voice catches again on that sob in your chest. You pause again to collect yourself. You open your mouth to speak and a strangled sort of laugh tumbles from your lips instead.
“God.” You wipe another stray tear from your cheek. “You’re such a fucking idiot. I mean, not just for making all those assumptions about what was best for me, but also just—” Your voice catches again and you pause. “I never stopped wanting you.”
The corner of his mouth twitches slightly and there’s a flicker of something like hope in his eyes. “Does that mean you’ve forgiven me?”
You take a shaky breath. “Yes and no.” You wipe your eyes with the back of your hand. “You should have asked me if safe was what I wanted, instead of just making that decision for me.”
He nods. “I know. I’m sorry.”
“Nothing is safe, James,” you continue. “It’s an illusion at best. You could live a perfectly dull life in the suburbs and be hit by a bus on your way to your perfectly dull job.” You pause, weighing the words that you want to say next. “I never wanted safe,” you say, your voice catching again in your throat. “I just wanted you.”
There’s a moment of quiet and Conrad looks well and truly chastened.
You take another deep breath and reach for his hand. The look that he gives you then—like he’s afraid to hope that youstill want him—is almost enough to make you abandon what you want to say next and kiss him on the spot.
“I know what I want,” you say quietly. “I understand the risks. You don’t need to throw yourself on the sword to protect me and you certainly don’t need to make those decisions for me. I need you to understand that if this is going to work.”
He nods. “I do.”
“Okay.” You exhale. “Will you shut up and kiss me now?”
The look of relief on his face is like sunshine.
“Come here,” he says softly, pulling you into his lap, your legs framing his hips. He cups your face in his hands, looking at you like you’re something wonderful, like he can’t believe you’re his.
Then he takes a deep breath and finally closes the gap between you.
You’ve waited years for this kiss. From the early days of your friendship coalescing around late nights and stale coffee and jokes that are only funny at two o’clock in the morning to the agony of watching him leave for basic training and then Vietnam and god knows where else. This kiss was never guaranteed—and in part, that’s why it’s so good. It could have been taken from you by any number of dangers or even just Conrad’s own foolish need to protect you.
But you finally have it and it’s everything you had thought it would be.
His mouth is slow and soft against yours, his tongue moving in a gentle caress that makes you feel every year of waiting and yearning and hoping. You mourn the years lost, but you can’t help but savor how perfect it feels as a result. Your hands map the sharp lines of his jaw and cheekbones as your tongue traces the soft line of his lips. You want to remember every part of this moment—every part of him.
It’s a few minutes later when you part, both of you slightly breathless. You rest your forehead against his.
“I shouldn’t have waited so long,” he says softly. His eyes are still shut.
You press your lips against his forehead. “Make it up to me, then.”
He slides a hand up to the back of your neck and pulls you back into another kiss.
You can feel the press of his growing erection against your thigh, but for now, it’s enough to just kiss him, to let your body melt against his and feel his hands in your hair, on your hips, framing your face. He makes a low, soft noise in the back of his throat when you nip at his lower lip, somewhere between a moan and a sigh and you think it might be the best sound you’ve ever heard.
But the longer you kiss him, the more you want, and it slowly begins to build a far more frantic need low in your hips. His hands become bolder, sliding along the curve of your waist and hips, stroking your thighs, squeezing your ass as he pulls you ever closer. You, in turn, press yourself more firmly against him, rolling your hips against his until he makes that low groaning sound that leaves you weak.
But it’s his hand wandering up to slip that first button on your blouse that makes you pull away from him, breathless.
“Bed?” You intend it as a question, but it sounds a little more like a plea.
His smile is devilish as he undoes the second button. “I thought you’d never ask.” His gaze slides back down to your open blouse and he quickly slips the third and fourth buttons.
“I thought we were going to bed,” you say with a smirk as the final two buttons come undone.
“We are,” he says as he pulls your blouse off your shoulders. You shiver under the weight of his gaze as he stares greedily at your breasts.
“You seem a little distracted,” you say.
“Well, I can’t very well leave a job undone,” he says, trailing a finger along the scalloped edge of your bra. “It wouldn’t be proper.”
“Yes, you seem deeply concerned with propriety,” you say, shooting a pointed glance at his finger.
“Very much so,” he murmurs, his fingertips caressing the curve of your breast and then skimming behind your back to unhook the clasp in one single, swift motion.
The straps slip down off your shoulders and he tugs the garment away from you.
He lets out a low groan as he looks at you, which sends a bolt of slick desire straight to your cunt. His hands cup your breasts.
“Perfect,” he murmurs, rolling his thumbs against the sensitive skin of your nipples. You squirm slightly in his lap and he gets a devilish look in his eyes.
His mouth quickly replaces his right hand on your breast.
He’s too good with his mouth. That’s the first thought you have as his lips and tongue cover your breast. But then he catches your nipple between his teeth and gently teases and pulls at the sensitive skin until it puckers and hardens in the heat of his mouth. Your hands rake through his hair, curling into a fist when he finds a particularly good spot. You are arching into his touch, your hips rolling mindlessly against his.
“James,” you gasp out. “Bed, please.”
He laughs quietly against your breast. You expect him to release you, but instead he moves his mouth to your right breast.
“Fuck,” you hiss as his tongue and teeth exert the same kind of blissful madness on your right breast while his hand kneads and teases the left.
You find yourself torn between begging him not to stop and begging him to take you to bed and you’re honestly not sure which one you want more. But a minute or so later, he releases you, lips curling into a smirk.
“I think you enjoyed that impropriety,” he says, eyes sparkling with a combination of desire and laughter that leaves you dizzy.
“You’re on thin ice, James Conrad,” you say, though you can’t hide your smile.
Desire overshadows the laughter in his expression, like the moon eclipsing the sun. “Let me take you to bed and earn my forgiveness, then,” he says.
You slide off his lap onto wobbly legs, but you don’t have to worry about it for very long because he immediately sweeps you into his arms and carries you down the hall to your bedroom.
In your room, he sets you down on your bed and divests you of your jeans with such speed and efficiency you find yourself wondering if it was part of his training.
You slide back on the unmade bed, looking up at him as he looms above you, handsome and a little dangerous in the moonlight that breaks through your curtains.
He allows himself a moment to just look at you, his gaze moving slowly up your body, drinking you in like he’ll never have enough.
Finally, he crawls onto the bed, his gaze intent and hungry, filled with purpose.
He stops at your hips, spreading your thighs wide, licking his lips as he looks you over before lowering himself to kiss the gusset of your underwear.
You can feel the hot rush of his breath against your cunt, the thin, damp fabric the only thing that separates you from the warmth of his mouth. He kisses the fabric again, his nose nudging against your clit.
“James,” you choke out.
This is all he needs tonight. His hands immediately go to your waistband and pull the fabric down and off your hips.
You both groan at the first brush of his mouth against your cunt, though the noise you make is admittedly much closer to a whimper. His tongue circles your clit slowly at first, teasing and tasting and testing until he finds the motion that makes you gasp his name.
You’d thought he was joking about earning your forgiveness, but the way he moves is as though he believes his absolution is truly on the line.
Or maybe he’s just really good at this, you think. It might not be that deep. You don’t need to overth—
Almost as though he can tell that too many of your brain cells are available for coherent thought, he slides one long index finger into you, curling and searching until he finds the spot that makes you gasp and dig your heels into the firm muscles of his back.
He’s building a warm, whirling tension in your hips, burning bright as a meteor about to strike. You grasp at the bed sheets as the rolling crescendo of sensation threatens to overwhelm you.
His free hand snakes up to find yours clasped in the sheets. His fingers twine with yours.
Something about this little gesture of affection after all those years of wanting and hoping strikes at something deep within you. You’ve never loved anyone like you’ve loved him. You don’t know that you ever will love anyone like you love him.
And maybe it’s that thought, or maybe it’s just a coincidence, but this is the moment you come completely undone.
You cry out as your back arches, pleasure rushing through you. His grip on your hand feels like the only thing keeping you tethered to reality as your whole body succumbs to the feeling. He slows the pace of his tongue to match the rolling swells of the aftershocks as they roll through you.
“James.” It’s the first coherent word you say and he draws away from your cunt reluctantly, though not before placing a soft, lingering kiss against your clit.
Before you can make a joke about how he’s overdressed, he’s sitting up and peeling that ridiculously tight shirt over his head. Your lips part as you feast your eyes on that beautiful expanse of muscle, firm and perfectly sculpted—
—and painted with a massive bruise across his ribs, brilliant and purple as a sunset.
Your post-orgasmic stupor is momentarily forgotten as you roll to your knees, crawling over to him. “You’re hurt.”
He looks confused for a moment before following the path of your gaze. “Oh, that. It’s nothing. Looks a lot worse than it is.”
“The same way your broken finger was nothing?” you say, fingertips trailing to just beneath the edges of the bruise. The broken finger had happened in your last year of university during an unsanctioned game of rugby. He had insisted it was just sprained, even though it was nearly black in color. You knew better and had dragged him to the hospital, where he was informed that not only was his finger broken, but that it was so badly broken that he’d need surgery to set it. Over the years, it had evolved into your go-to example of why he needed to listen to you, the damning piece of evidence that proved he could be too stoic and hardheaded for his own good.
Privately, though, it was also your way of saying that you cared about him, that you worried that his high tolerance for pain and admittedly impressive abilities might lead to him not asking for help when he needed it.
He rolls his eyes, but his gaze is fond. “You’re never going to drop that, are you?”
“Never. You should know that by now.” You put your hands on his shoulders. Should you tell him what you feel? You hesitate for just a moment, but it’s enough for him to notice.
“What is it?” he asks.
You suck in a deep breath. “I want you to be okay with me caring about you.” Your voice is softer than you intend.
He frowns slightly and places his hands on your hips. “How do you mean?”
“Stuff like this,” you say, tracing the edge of the bruise. “I know you say it’s nothing but…” You swallow. “And maybe it is but…you’ve always acted a little like my caring about you—even as a friend—was this massive liability for me.” You place your hand over the bruise. “And it’s never felt that way to me at all.”
You can’t quite read his expression. “What does it feel like?” he asks.
You move your hand over his heart, feeling the steady, even beat under your fingers. “Like you’re someone that I love and I want you to be okay,” you say softly. “Is that really so horrible?”
He runs a thumb along your jaw, leaning his forehead against yours. “Not at all,” he says.
You pause for a moment, your hand on his heart. “I just—I don’t want safe, okay? Just you. Let’s start with that.”
“Okay.” His eyes trail down your face to your lips, but he waits for you to close the gap.
You do.
There’s a part of you that wonders if you said too much too soon, if you have instead succeeded in scaring him off, but he kisses you so deeply that it immediately mutes your anxiety, blunting the cacophony of your fears into a muffled background noise that’s easy to dismiss. When your hand starts to drift toward his belt buckle, he pulls away, the desire in his eyes setting your body aflame. “On your back, my lovely,” he says softly.
You lie back on the bed, staring greedily as he finishes undressing.
He cuts a striking figure, lit by the moonlight streaming in through the curtains. Even with that wicked bruise splashed across his ribs, he still looks like something divine and he’s staring at you like you’re equally remarkable. The thought makes you shiver.
The mattress dips as he crawls back onto the bed and positions himself over your body.
The tip of his cock nudges against your stomach. You reach between your bodies, wrapping your fingers around the hard length of him. He’s long and thick, big in a way that makes your toes curl in anticipation. A low, pleased groan rumbles in his chest.
He leans in to kiss you as you stroke him slowly, savoring every sound he makes, every sharp intake of breath. After a moment, he places his hand over yours, guiding your hand away. You angle your hips up toward him, wrapping one leg around his waist.
He presses the tip of his cock against your soaking cunt and you suck in a sharp breath. He looks at you and grins as he slowly drags his cock from your entrance to your clit and back, coating himself in your slickness.
“You’re a tease,” you say.
“Just making sure you’re ready for me,” he says, eyes glinting too much for that to be the whole truth.
“I can tell when you’re lying, you know.”
The tip of his cock slowly slips inside you and you gasp.
“Can you?” he says casually, like you’re just having a chat over drinks. He eases back out.
“What happened to the man who was going to earn his forgiveness?” you say.
He grins, pressing his cock back against your entrance. “Oh, I think you’re enjoying this.”
It’s a difficult assertion to deny, especially with the way he rocks into you slowly, each time going just a little deeper—but never quite deep enough—before drawing back. It’s not long before your hips are rocking with his, urging him deeper.
“More,” you breathe.
A smirk curls at his lips. “More?”
You don’t know that you have the words to describe the particular empty ache you feel, or the fact that you know it’s only going to be soothed by the steady, rocking thrust of his cock fully inside you. “Please,” you say instead. “Please.”
“I’ve waited too long not to savor you,” he says. He eases inside you another inch or so before pausing.
“James.” There’s desperation in your voice that you’ve never heard before, a slight whimper that makes you feel wild with need. “I need you.”
“You’ll have me, darling,” he says as he leans in to kiss you. He’s easing forward slowly, but this time, he keeps going until he’s buried to the hilt, hips flush against yours. You whimper, relishing the feeling of him inside you, close as you can be.
“Good girl,” he murmurs against your lips. “I knew you could take me.”
You can’t help the way your body reacts to his praise or the soft moan that falls from your lips.
He notices. Of course he does. You feel him smirk as he kisses you and he pulls back slightly to look at you. “Do you like hearing me call you my good girl?”
You nod, but you don’t need to—your cunt flutters around him, tensing.
“Oh, I can feel how much you like that.” He lowers his voice. “My lovely, good girl.”
He slowly rocks his hips once and your breath hitches.
“So very, very good,” he purrs. “You’re taking me so well, darling. And every time I call you my good girl, you feel even better.”
You shudder again as he settles into a devastatingly slow rhythm. Maybe it’s his size or maybe he just knows his angles, but he’s hitting every sensitive place inside you in just the right way and god, you never want him to stop.
“Do you want to be very good for me?” he says in that same low voice.
“Yes,” you breathe. It’s hard to describe how much you want to please him, how much you want him to say your name in that low, deep purr of a voice and tell you that you feel incredible, that you’re doing so well for him. You want to give yourself over to him, let him claim you as his.
“If you want to be very good for me,” he continues, “you’ll come on my cock.”
“Yes,” you say. “Please.”
“Let’s see what we can do about that.” He’s shifting his weight slightly, propping himself up on his left arm, bringing his right hand to your clit. His fingers slowly roll over the throbbing bundle of nerves and you moan.
“Oh, that feels good, doesn’t it?” he says. “I don’t think you’re going to last very long if I keep doing this.”
You whimper something that might have been words at one point, but disintegrated into an unintelligible mess of vowels and consonants somewhere between your brain and your mouth.
“In fact,” he says, his voice dropping impossibly low, “maybe you’re going to be a very, very good girl and come more than once on my cock.”
You whimper, your hips rolling with his. The combination of his fingers on your clit and his cock inside of you is driving you crazy, pushing you closer and closer to the edge.
“Can you do that for me, sweetheart?” he rasps. “Can you be a good girl and come on my cock?”
You can feel your orgasm building, that coil in your hips winding tighter and tighter. You nod.
“Look at me and tell me what you want,” he says.
“I—yes.”
“Yes what?”
“I want to come.”
He shakes his head. “That’s not what I said.”
“I want to come on your cock.”
“Still not quite right.”
Something like a combination of a laugh and a whine falls from your lips. “James—”
“I want to hear you say it, love. All of it.”
“Fuck—” You can feel yourself inching closer to the edge.
“Tell me.”
“I want—” You shudder against your impending release. “I want…I want to be a good girl—and come on your cock.”
“Good girl,” he purrs, increasing his pace ever so slightly. “Now come for me.”
You’re not sure if it’s the fact that he made you say it out loud or because he told you to come or if it’s just a very well timed coincidence. Either way, your back is suddenly arching and your cunt is clamping down hard on his cock as you careen into an orgasm that makes your whole body tremble.
But as good as it feels, you can’t help but be captivated by Conrad—the way he slows his pace, the sound he makes. You can tell he’s struggling to stay in control and the fact that a man noted for his cool head and ruthless calm is struggling to keep his composure because of how you are making him feel is somewhere beyond incredible.
He pauses for a moment, seemingly to collect himself. He looks at you as you tremble through the aftershocks, drinking you in like he can’t quite believe the wonder of what he’s seeing.
“You’re heavenly,” he says softly.
You reach for him and he leans down to kiss you, his hips still moving at that agonizingly slow pace.
“I think it’s your turn, though,” you murmur against his lips.
He draws back and that intense, hungry look is back. “My turn?” he says, raising an eyebrow. “Did you not tell me you were going to be a good girl for me?”
“I just came on your cock,” you say. “Wasn’t that the agreement?”
“I believe I said that if you were very good, you would come more than once.” He accompanies this with a sharp thrust of his hips as he lowers his lips to your ear. “And I know you want to be very good.”
Your breath is already hitching, your back arching as your legs lock around his waist. “Fuck.”
His voice has dropped again to that low growl. “Do you know how utterly incredible you feel when you come?”
His fingers are back at your clit and you whine.
“It took every ounce of my strength not to spill myself inside you the moment your sweet cunt started trembling around me.” His breath is hot on your ear and you can’t help the way that your muscles clench around him.
He groans low in your ear. “Fuck. Yes. Like that.”
His pace is still so slow and steady and that almost makes the buildup more unbearable. You don’t understand how you’re already so close, but you can feel the tide of your orgasm rising once again.
“Oh god,” you moan.
“I can feel how close you are,” he growls. “And I’m not going to be able to hold back.”
“Come for me,” you say, your voice rough with desperation.
“You first,” he says. “Then I’ll make you mine.”
“I’ve always been yours,” you choke out before your voice cuts off with a cry as your orgasm starts to crest. It’s just as intense as your last one—the edges of your vision go white and fuzzy and you let out a primal moan.
Conrad’s pace increases as he fucks you through it, his mouth open in a soundless gasp.
“James,” you whimper.
He lets out a low moan seconds before you feel the warmth of his release inside you.
He leans down to kiss you and it’s as though you’re both moving through molasses—every touch, every sound feels slow and sweet. He finally lets his head drop to your shoulder when his hips still. He exhales slowly, the heat of his breath warming your shoulder.
“We should have been doing this for years,” he says after a moment.
“I mean, there was a reason why I called you a fucking idiot earlier.”
He lifts his head to look at you and he’s failing to hide his smile. “I suppose that’s difficult to dispute.”
You press a kiss against his forehead. “You can keep earning my forgiveness. I certainly enjoyed this first attempt.”
“Mmm, I have several other ideas.” He kisses you softly and slowly before slowly pulling away. “But let’s get cleaned up.”
He makes you stay in bed while he fetches a wet washcloth from your bathroom and carefully cleans you up. It’s sweet and intimate in a way you don’t expect—no one’s ever done this for you before.
He returns to bed and you curl up together, your cheek resting on his chest, his fingers tracing patterns on your shoulder.
You’re quiet for a bit, mulling the question that sits on the tip of your tongue like the sword of Damocles, ready to fall and smash your easy peace to bits.
“What is it?” asks Conrad before you can summon the courage.
“Hmm?” you say, though you’re pretty sure he’s going to see through your lie.
“You’ve got something on your mind.”
You pause, wetting your lips. “How long are you in town?”
His grip on you tightens, like he understands. “For now, as long as you want me to be.”
You lift your head to give him a skeptical look. He strokes your cheek.
“I’ll have another job eventually,” he says. “But not quite yet.”
“Okay,” you say.
He’s quiet for a moment. “This part of it…it’s not going to be easy.”
You hear the unspoken part of this—he’s giving you a chance to back out, to call this a one off, to keep yourself safe.
“Once again, I never said I wanted easy,” you say. “I just want you.”
He draws you closer, pressing a kiss to the top of you head. “You have me, my love,” he murmurs. “I’ve always been yours.”

House MD Fic Recs | House/Wilson
[Part 1] [Part 2]
so... my first foray into this fandom after passively watching clips of it on youtube growing up. finally got around to watching it even though i have spoiled myself with all of the fan content i consumed before even finishing season 1. this is just some of my favorite fics i have compiled here. :) hope yall feel old knowing this show is older than me - and i can vote.
I'd Make A Deal With God (I'd Get Him to Swap Our Places) by TheFandomLesbian (ao3) Teen+ 11,357 Summary: When Wilson receives his terminal diagnosis, House flees to the hospital chapel. He doesn't know how to pray, but he strikes a deal: his soul for Wilson's life. When Wilson goes into remission, he has no choice but to uphold his end of the bargain. In which House learns nothing about God, but everything about worship, in the arms of his husband.
as someone who has a very complicated relationship with religion, this fic warmed my heart. the devotion from house in this fic to be able to put aside his own feelings towards religion in the small chance that he really does owe wilson's life to a higher power blew me away.
Riddle Me by magie_05 (LJ) R (I would say Teen+) 12,300 House loves puzzles. Wilson…doesn’t. When House starts asking his friend seemingly pointless questions that get progressively more confusing, Wilson’s left to wonder what (if anything) it means.
i loved the way they communicated in this fic and it was fun to try to figure out the riddles with wilson
fifteen minutes by eating_custardinbed (ao3) Mature 11,907 When James Wilson came to work this morning, he was expecting a normal day. That is, he has been expecting to tell a few people they were dying, getting bullied into buying his grumpy best friend lunch, maybe flirting with the new nurse in radiology to make him feel just a little better about his third divorce. What he has not been expecting is to be locked in his office with a madman, staring down the barrel of a gun. or, wilson gets shot and locked in his office. he and house have a conversation
oh, my beloved trope of one character thinking the other is about to die but not wanting to show how scared they are. hurt/comfort and wilson is hurt - right up my alley.
Defensive Strategies by m_butterfly (Wayback) NC-17 (Explicit) 14398 In which Wilson has a problem, House has a cunning plan, girls hunt in packs, chocolate cake has unexpected dangers, furniture is unintentionally ordered, several conversations occur, and dinner is repeatedly served.
this was a cute getting together fic that was funny and heavily recommended back in the say - at least from my sleuthing.
House-opathy Series: Diagnosis: Wilson, Patient Write Up: Cameron, Chase Foreman, Treatment: House by Commodoresexual (LJ) PG13 (Teen+) 14498 Wilson gets more than he bargained for when he lets the ducklings diagnose him - Cameron, Chase and Foreman delve into the healing process for Wilson - You can't always get what you want, but sometimes, you get what you need.
these were cute fics that were admittedly written prior to my conception. i enjoyed reading them - it follows the ducklings as they diagnose wilson with being in love with house and how the two get together.
Lost Causes by Eos (Wayback) PG13 (Teen+) 17164 An unguarded comment from Wilson proves to be quite unsettling for House's state of mind. Has three sequels, Same as It Ever Was, Reverse Psychology, and Foolish Hearts
this fic is older than me by almost half a month... that being said it can only be found in the deep recesses of the wayback machine. i enjoyed this fic and its sequels when i read them - it is mostly house coming to terms with his feelings for wilson following an accident in the first fic
Things That Go Bump by peg22 (ao3) Explicit 18,381 Wilson has nightmares. House gets a headache. Everyone tries to diagnose just what's going on between them. This story is set in Season 2, before House got shot, before the first ducklings left us, before Amber, before House/Cuddy . . . those halcyon days where House and Wilson were just . . . House and Wilson. Wilson is sleeping on House's sofa, after moving out from cancer patient, Grace. "Wilson just shook his head and limped back into the kitchen. He unloaded a sack of fresh produce. Good produce. Endives and garlic and tomatoes and asparagus. He moved on to the next sack. Beef. Good beef. Brisket and rump roast and ribeyes . . . he was halfway through the third sack of spices and imported cheeses, whistling and daydreaming about braised salmon with fresh asparagus when it hit him. He was being seduced. Through groceries. By groceries. By House through groceries. And he was falling for it. Hard. Lox, stock pot, and basil."
was actually reminded of this fic while digging through the recesses of old livejournal fic recs for house. i thought "hey wait.. wasn't that also on ao3?" it is! which saves you all the formatting of chapters that aren't linked and are spread across the original livejournal page it was uploaded on. but this fic is sweet and is a hurt/comfort nightmare fic done well. very dialogue heavy but very much in character.
R.I.C.E in Reverse by Phate Pheonix (FF.Net) Teen+ 22,000 An AU of 'The Greater Good' caused by a simple… twist. What if Wilson had discovered that Dana Miller was House's patient just an hour earlier? Cuddy won't know what hit her.
i remember this fic being longer than it was but i also remember really enjoying this fic. cuddy is a bit of a bitch in this but i don't find it to be bashing or anything - they (house & cuddy) are the same as they are in the show they just don't end up together like they do in the episode this is based on. also wilson coming to terms with his feelings for house. the writing is great and feels like it could be out of an episode of house.
buy some time, it's on my dime by ORiley42 (ao3) Explicit 27,034 Well, this took a longer time to write than I expected! Probably because it's five times longer than I intended lmao Wanted to try my hand at something more AU-ish. Though, because House is an ornery bastard and won’t do what I say at all, the setting is still broadly the same. The main difference being that House and Wilson have never met… I’d say this has season 1 vibes, but no actual timeline or plot refs. Also, AU idea sparked by I57371’s lovely “Phoning It In.” Also-also, title from "Nothing New" by Fly By Midnight.
this is not the only time you will see this author on this list - for good reason. i'm traditionally not one for au's or for strangers to lovers fics... but this one pulled it off. very smutty but the plot is still fun.
Witness, Witness by SkyeBean (ao3) Teen+ 29,111 It was past midnight when Wilson arrived, and House’s team had all left hours before. Cameron was the last to go, shooting House a pitying look as she pulled her coat on, but House had ignored her. A Wilson who’s been dating House for years doesn’t work at Princeton-Plainsboro. It takes House’s team years to find out that their boss is dating someone, let alone who, but they see more of the relationship than they know.
cute! what-if house and wilson did not work together but were together prior to season one. its a fun secret relationship fic.
Something to Prove by orphan_account (ao3) Teen+ 30,700 When House suddenly wants to initiate a relationship with Wilson, Wilson is overjoyed. The feelings he'd held for years are finally mutual. Or are they?
if you don't like angst this one isn't for you. house is kind of a massive dick in this one and spends the rest of the fic trying to make it up to wilson and win him over. has sequels that i did not read.
little glass vial by SupposedToBeWriting (ao3) Mature 39,093 House and Wilson have a peculiar friendship - though if you asked Wilson, sleeping together once while one man was reeling from a traumatic surgery slash breakup and the other was in a failing marriage isn't all that unusual between friends. They manage to make it work, mostly by never bringing it up again. While out, a patient's grieving brother approaches Wilson and injects him with an unknown compound. Wilson is rushed to the hospital. Though initially fine, he begins to exhibit strange and deadly symptoms. House is swept into a case that he cannot emotionally distance himself from, with a patient that he has exceptionally complex feelings for. Wilson clings to life as House hits brick wall after brick wall, desperate to save the one person he can't lose.
hurt/comfort with sick!wilson. Its also a case fic with a race against time that i enjoyed.
A Patient's Guide to Living with ICS by ORiley42 Explicit 40,071 House and Wilson share a hotel room at a medical conference. Read on for goofy acronyms, endless banter, horny middle-aged men, and more!
smutty work conference + friends with benefits to lovers fic. also!!! this author is generally just great with house fics.
A Modest Proposal by ignaz (ao3) Explicit 55,649 Tritter's case against House still depends on subpoenaed testimony from Wilson. To save House from losing everything, the doctors of PPTH decide on an unusual solution, which in turn leads to unexpected consequences. This is a story about the sacrifices we make that turn out not to be such great sacrifices after all. (Contains spoilers for everything up to and including "Merry Little Christmas.")
its on everyone's rec list - i know. but this is my rec list and i enjoyed it so its going on here. marriage of convenience trope my beloved. it has a sequel that everyone says is great but i haven't gotten around to it... yet.
Gaseous Nebula by TheFandomLesbian (ao3) Teen+ 77,372 After a hard day at work, House and Wilson intend to spend their evening watching the Princeton Philharmonic Orchestra. Instead, the building collapses, leaving one of them trapped in peril and the other desperate for answers. The chaos drives them to revelations about themselves and each other, but it may be too late.
another hurt/comfort fic that i absolutely adored. also, the second time this author is on the list! god i enjoyed reading this one - it had me on the edge of my seat despite how fantastical it is sometimes. felt like quality television surrealism with how bizarre some of the coincidences are but it tied everything together and had a happy ending.
there is a sequel but I have never read it and it is incomplete.
either love is a shrine (or else, a scar) by jamesevanwilson (ao3) Mature 79,985 House has a brilliant plan, and he needs Wilson's help. Wilson is a chronic enabler. Getting married for the fourth time should be relatively easy.
fake marriage in order to get money from house's dads will with a heafty dose of miscommunication and mutual pining between these morons.
It Will Find You in the End by junkyard_angel Mature 146,954 Gregory House is a misanthropic bastard with trust issues, who doesn't do feelings. But he's pretty sure he's in love -- or lust -- or something anyway -- with his best friend. Life is funny, in a not-funny way.  *UPDATE* -- Here's a link to the Spotify playlist of all songs referenced in this fic to date. Happy reading/listening! https://open.spotify.com/playlist/76B4n4UUncNYJG8scmKqVc?si=e5cd5de147924fb5 Thanks as always for reading, and feedback and comments are welcomed.
god this fic was long (not that thats a bad thing). they finally get together but then they also break up and then get back together so if angst isn't your cup of tea...
Here is a link to a great fic on ao3 with links to old house fic recs https://archiveofourown.org/works/16826263
I will update this as I read more/comb back through the LJ and FF.net archives that I slouthed through. I didn't keep track of most of those before i decided to make this list :/ sorry

ALL timkon recs I BEG
hello hi! here are some of my favs! it got long so putting some under the cut
💄 Lipstick on the glass by @cairoscene read for timkon being soft and goofy and disgustingly in love, set in vague future college-y years with amazing core four dynamics too. cair is one of the funniest people to ever exist and we are so blessed that they decided to write some timkon. (also read for my own greatest contribution to literature, the fictional “jerry the void nexus” meme)
🎢 been a number and a name by @wynterstars i had SO MUCH FUN reading this one, a 90s comics-divergent AU where robin and superboy become friends—and crushes—when superboy is pretty new on the scene. feat. lex luthor being terrible, tim staging a rescue operation that at one point involves platform shoes and a blonde wig, spice girls references, and fantastic action sequences. it’s also a series, with an installment focusing on kon & clark, and a currently updating longfic sequel with SO MANY timkon identity shenanigans (my beloved) and kon feelings (also my beloved).
📸 the surveillance series by @smilebackwards i feel like i rec this all the time but it’s because it’s THAT GOOD. a tim-centric AU where tim joins the family late, but is still involved in bat business without the bats realizing. there’s some fun timkon identity shenanigans at the top, and some of my all-time favorite tim characterization (ruthless! lonely! brilliant!) plus a great tim & bruce arc, too.
🦉 Detours by miyaji_08 this is part 2 of a series and i def recommend reading the whole thing! a reverse robins + joker jr au that has lots of trauma and lots of healing, and in part 2 there’s timkon identity shenanigans that’s simultaneously enemies to lovers + And They Were Roommates. tim sure does run a gauntlet of horrors in this series, but it has so much healing and also one of my fav reverse robins concepts i’ve read so far.
📱 unfurl by @burins tim and kon might be dating, and there’s no kryptonian sex ed handy. bruce, being bruce, makes it his business, which means talking to clark and Realizing some things about his own feelings. superbat are billed first here, but i think timkon steal the show—i laughed out loud like five different times reading this. hilarious and sweet on all sides. (and if you like this, check out their timkon road trip fic!)
🌾 A Saturday Evening by malcyon in which tim visits the kent farm for family dinner with kon, feat. very sweet established relationship timkon and fun superfamily dynamics, and it touches on tim’s past grief over kon’s death (and complicated feelings post-undeath).
🤼‍♂️ Sore Loser by @hearteyeshayley kon learns that tim always let him win while sparring, and has to process that. this was such a fun exploration of tim’s prowess as a fighter—one who regularly has to go up against superpowered friends and foes alike—and also tim as a person who is always doing mental calculations about the people around him (in an endearing way). kon, too, got his time to shine and grow, and the ending was so smart and sweet.
🔮 Ascension by Violet_Witch an AU longfic where tim is a witchling and kon is a fallen angel who has (oops) just lost his wings. tim sets out to help get kon’s wings back, and there’s a ticking clock because angel wings are dangerous in the wrong hands—and tim has a big, horrible secret that’s about to come due. the plot/worldbuilding of this was WILDLY cool, and there was a big ol misunderstanding in the middle that had me clawing my face off (in a good way).
🌌 straight on ’til morning by merils kon vs. the terrifying ordeal of growing up, feat. sweet friends-to-lovers timkon and really thoughtful exploration of some of kon’s canon past relationships and their abusive dynamics. i haven’t finished this one yet but it’s been rec’d multiple times and i’m excited to dive back in (and it's recently complete!)—and what i have read so far gave me an amazing sequence of kon and dick interacting and dick’s big brother mode activating in an instant, which is something i now desperately need more of.
📧 aaaand would it even be a reclist by me if i didn’t include send to all by @cairoscene the absolute moment i find myself feeling down i go reread this and boom. i am instantly laughing again. timkon are just one part of a bat grab-bag here but they are so so funny and cute and in-character. maybe one day i’ll compile the timkon-centric sequel that exists in my head but for now i’ll just go reread this for the zillionth time.
okay yeah!! i’m probably missing so many good fics here because i constantly have like a zillion tabs open that i plan to read someday. also i reserve the right to reblog later like OH I FORGOT— but in the meanwhile, happy timkon reading!

Experiment 56 [part 7]*FINAL*
Tumblr media
Neteyam x Human reader ( like a mix of human and Navi )
Others pairs: Quaritch x reader (platonic) , sully fam x reader
Tw: neteyam baby , reader being mutant, neytiri being a sweetheart-mother, kinda Sad, Quaritch is an anti-villain?, soft stuff , all the characters are aged up 20's.
POV: Y/N is surprised that it is an indispensable piece for the human race. Her family will do everything possible to keep her hidden and safe…
PART 1 | PART 2 | PART 3 | PART 4 | PART 5 | PART 6 | PART 7
Experiment 56 sequel
Note: Well… here is the final part of this series. "Experiment 56". To be honest, I didn't think that so many people would like my idea <3 If you want an alternative ending. Or you want me to expand on a part. You can send me a message. And don't forget that the requests are open, and I work with all the characters. Well that would be all, I hope you like it a lot!!!
Tumblr media
"What do you mean she's pregnant?" asks Lyle as he looks at Quaritch. "You and her…" Quaritch hits him over the head. "don't be an asshole, how am I going to get her pregnant, I've barely known her for 2 weeks…idiot" say Quaritch, as he sits down on one of the aisle seats. "We need to get her out of here, Lyle" Miles speaks, as he plays with his fingers on his hand. "Colonel with all due respect… but are you out of your mind? What's going to happen to us? "Lyle says as he sits down in the seat next to him. "What's going to happen? Lyle, what are we doing here?" Quaritch confronts Lyle. "They order us various missions, we go and do it, we're like watchdogs for these shitty people. For what? For nothing… we are no longer human, even the memories we have don't belong to us" There was a silence between the two men, lyle knew it was true what the man was saying. "I don't know what I'm doing here lyle, I feel lost" Quaritch says. "And what do you plan to do with y/n?" Lyle gives up, he wasn't going to leave his boss alone.
They need to be quiet, they are conscious that there are cameras everywhere. Quaritch moves closer to lyle's seat. "We need to plan something… but she needs to get out of here. I have a feeling what they're going to do to her is not at all pleasant." Lyle pulls his sunglasses off his head, as he runs his hands back and forth across the back of his neck. The colonel had lost his mind. " It's okay, I'm in… you're lucky I actually like that girl" lyle says, as Quaritch smiles a little. The moment is interrupted when a nurse walks out the door. "You guys are accompanying experiment 56?" the woman asks. My god, how awful that sounded. "Yes" says Miles, as he stands up. "Can only one person go through" says the woman. Lyle signals Quaritch for him to come in. "I'll wait here, go!!!" says lyle. "oh, wait…give her this candy, she gonna love it".
Miles follows the nurse, down the cold hallway of the nursing area. "It's over there, in space 4" the woman points to the blue curtains. Miles heads in that direction, until she slides the curtain. You were awake, half sitting up on the bed. He noticed how your face lit up at the sight of him. "Miles!!! You're here!!!" you say with a big smile on your face. "Hi little girl…" miles comes over, he is surprised when you come over and give him a hug. You were little so you were hugging his trunk. A smile breaks out on miles' face. In just two weeks, you had moved his whole world. This confirmed to him that he had to help you get out of here.
"Thank you for helping me, I was really feeling bad" you say, as you settle onto the bed. You watch as Quaritch sits up and looks at you with concern. "Do you know the results yet?" the man asks. "What results? Am I sick?" you ask. "Well… if you put it that way, yes. And it will last you about 9 months." Quaritch says, as he continues to look at your face, studying your expressions. There is silence in the cubicle, until you understand what the soldier just told you. "I'm pregnant?" you look at Quaritch. "Affirmative ma'am" Quaritch waits for you to respond. "but…it was the first time I…" you look at Quaritch shyly, you didn't want to talk about your intimacy with the man, but it's not like you had a choice. "Well…that can happen. You were in your fertile days and boom…a baby" Miles says, trying to sound funny. But he sees how your face is turning red and tears are pooling in your eyes. "Hey, hey, hey, what's wrong?" Quaritch tries to comfort you. " I'm having a baby and I'm not with neteyam" you start to cry. "no, no, no, don't cry, relax. I have good news" you look at Miles curiously. "what news?" you say whimpering. "I'm going to help you get out of here, I don't know when it will happen… but I'll help you" Quaritch says, as he adjusts a strand of your hair. You two make eye contact for a moment, and for the first time you could see how their expressions had relaxed. And you could notice the sincerity in their eyes.
Mo'at had always said that you had the ability to communicate with eywa, before moving to the aquatic clans. You and Kiri were apprenticed to Mo'at. You were learning how to prepare medicines, and how to connect with and interpret eywa decisions. Mo'at always said that you two were talented, that eywa had chosen you. This must be some kind of sign from eywa. "thank you" you say as you continue to look at him, miles blushes a little. "Are you blushing?" you laugh a little. "no, it's just that…" Quaritch tries to apologize, you push him a little and get comfortable on the bed. "Don't worry soldier… I awaken low passions in people." You laugh a little. "oh yeah, yeah …. such a player" he jokes with you, and pulls a small piece of candy out of his pants pocket. "Here's a Cinnamon candy, Lyle sent it to you" Miles hands it to you. "Mmm what is this?" you've never seen anything like this before. "It helps with nausea…and it tastes good" you take the wrapper off, pop it in your mouth. "hey …. I like it…ohhh" you feel the spicy taste in your mouth. "it stings a little, watch out" Quaritch laughs, as he watches you continue to eat. "I wish neteyam, was here and knew the news…he would be so happy" you say as Quaritch looks at you. "neteyam is a great man" You say as your gaze is lost somewhere.
Quaritch could see how in love you were, and could even notice the hint of sadness in your tone of voice. "you can stay longer with me, I don't want to be alone" Quaritch laughed, and settled closer on the bed. At that a lyle peeks through the blue curtain. "May I come in?" he asks, as he enters and sits in the chair next to the gurney. "Well… did you get the candy?" lyle asked. " yes, thank you… do you have any more of those?" you ask lyle, he bursts out laughing and starts digging through his pockets for more candy. Maybe they weren't the best people in the world, but at this moment they were to you.
Hours later you arrive at your room, still feeling sick. You are sure that the tests and everything that was happening was affecting you. And now…now you had a creature growing inside of you. You knew that these people were going to study more about the pregnancy, that they were going to do painful tests. But you had to take quaritch's word for it, he said he would help you get out of this place. You had no choice. You were a little bored and started looking in the drawers of the different closets to see what you could find, and you saw a little black box. It had a note written on it. "Here are more cinnamon candies, I brought you a whole bag… and there is a communicator, if you want… try to contact your family. You only have a few minutes, but I hope that helps. With love… Lyle" You opened the box as fast as you could, and it was true… there was the communicator. You laughed and ran to the bathroom, you didn't want anything to be seen by the cameras. You turned on the communicator and set the signal codes of the neteyam communicator. You had these devices, as Jake had taken them in one of the altercations he had with the people in the sky. Everyone in the family had one. Your hands were shaking, you could finally hear his voice after almost three weeks. The signal was very bad, so you climbed up on the toilet, near a small window. Trying to look for a signal. " Damn…connect!!!!" you curse, while still balancing.
Meanwhile at the refuge, spirits were low. The days were not the same. Neytiri tried to be strong, but couldn't help crying when she was alone. Loak, kiri, spider and tuk were trying to go about their daily lives, but it was almost impossible. Jake was losing his mind, every day….. He spent hours trying to figure out what to do to rescue you, with norm's help. But neteyam… was a lost cause, or so said neytiri. He would barely eat, he would wander around the common areas, he would go to the spirit tree to pray for your return. And he would return to the hut to sleep. Neytiri watched her son… he was lying on his side. As she comes closer. "neteyam dear, you have to eat something…" says neytiri stroking his hair. "mother, i don't want anything, i just want to be alone" he settles back in and turns his back to her. Neytiri knew this was a difficult thing for him, the separation of a couple… it was almost the same feeling of mourning. She couldn't stop what he was feeling, she just bent down and gave him a kiss on his forehead. "I love you… you know that. Y/N is fine, eywa is taking care of her" says neytiri, as she walks away. Neteyam is heartbroken, he was upset, he had anger, he was lost. He was about to sleep until he hears the sound of his communicator, this device is lying somewhere in the hut. At first he didn't think anything of it, but it wasn't until he heard a familiar voice that he gave it his full attention. Neytiri also heard the voice, they both ran to grab the device.
"Can anyone hear me?" you say on the other side of the device. Neteyam couldn't believe it, it was you. His heart raced, as he tried to speak. "ma y/n is that you!!!!? Where are you?" he was so excited, he didn't know what to say. "I'm at the base…I'm fine" you speak, and just by saying you were fine Neytiri felt a burden leave her shoulders, you were alive. Neytiri gestured to her son and went out to find Jake and the other family members. "I miss you, love" you speak trying to hold back your tears. "I do too, I swear I will come and get you… but you have to tell me where you are…" just as you were about to answer neteyam, jake enters the hut and takes the device in his hands". My precious!!! y/n how are you? where are you?" shouts jake, you could hear everyone talking at the same time. You knew everyone was scared, nervous. But they had to stay calm. "Please calm down! Listen to me" you speak, as you listen as everyone calms down and pays attention. "I don't have much time, but I'm fine, and I'm safe. They are going to help me get out of here, I don't know when it will be but I promise I will be back. Don't do anything, mom, dad… neteyam. Calm down, just… wait for me I promise" you say between sobs, you wanted to get out of here, you wanted to be with your family. Before jake could answer the call, he falls down. "y/n, Y/N, Y/N!!!" jake shouts into the communicator. DAMN!!! Now he was really frustrated. "I need to get this to norm, have him look for the location source" says jake, before leaving the shack. Neteyam accompanied his father to norm's lab.
"Norm, NORM" jake calls out to the boy, the boy was running some tests. " I'm here jake" shouts norm, from the other side of the lab. "Y/N talk to her …. We got in communication with her" says jake as he waves the communicator in his hand. " What do you mean you talked?" asks norm, he can't believe his ears. " Yeah, she talked to us over here… she told us she was okay. And that they would help her get off the base." Says jake, handing the device to norm. He runs to his computer and plugs it in. "we need to locate where the original audio location is" norm says, as jake looks at the screen. Neteyam is standing next to his father. On the computer screen comes up the location. "I knew it, base 12… it's a 2 hour plane ride from here, we have to" Neteyam interrupts Norm, "y/n told us not to do anything. Neteyam looks at his father, and then at Norm. "Well… it's the best we can do. That base is the biggest one in pandora, I don't want to imagine how secure it is. I imagine there will be someone in there who is on our side." Norm says, while placing an arm on Jake's shoulder. "we just have to wait for her to communicate again…" Norm speaks, as neteyam walks over to his father, and neteyam hugs him. "She's going to be okay, she's a strong girl… look at all the time she's been through and she's fine." Jake knows you're okay, but he's wondering who it is that's helping you.
AREA 12, northeast of pandora:
You lost the communicator signal. "Neteyam!!! NETEYAM!!!" you give a scream of frustration, as you get off the toilet. You drop to the bathroom floor, hug your knees and start crying. You didn't know if what Quaritch said was true, he may be lying to you to get closer to you and then pull you in. But something in you told you to trust and have confidence. Eywa would not tell you something false. But it was hard… you had heard neteyam's voice. The voices of your parents, and sisters. . Shit, you missed them. You couldn't even tell them you were pregnant. "you just have to be patient" you thought to yourself. Meanwhile…on the other side of the base.
"What did General Ardmore call us for?" asks Lyle to Miles, as they both walked to the briefing room. "I suspect it's about y/n's pregnancy, I can already imagine what they're going to do" Quaritch says, before entering the room he stops Lyle with his arm. "listen, whatever it is… let's just act normal. No one has to know what we're planning" Lyle nods his head and they both enter. As they entered they could see several doctors, scientists and General Ardmore sitting around already talking. "Welcome gentlemen…have a seat" says Ardmore. "Would you like something to drink?" she offers the soldiers, they refuse with their heads and sit down. Their tails wag back and forth, Lyle literally hides his tail under his thigh. "Well, Today's meeting is very important… as you may know the navi-human 'experiment 56' is pregnant." Speaks the general as she walks back and forth in the room. "Doctor Smith, how is it possible for that girl to be pregnant? Humans can't have navi offspring?" the woman asks. "well…technically experiment 56 shares similarities with the female navi body, although not the same it is similar. Yes, if nothing is complicated, this pregnancy would be of great importance. Never seen anything like this before. The girl is about a week pregnant, so we can't say much about the creature," says the doctor, while he continues talking nonsense, or so Quaritch thought.
He was sick of this meeting, the scientists and doctors kept talking about how great it would be if this baby was a hybrid and blah blah blah. "What do you think Colonel Miles?" asked General Ardmore. Quaritch didn't know what to say. "I think it's no big deal, it's just a baby." The less interest he gave that creature, the better. General Ardmore analyzed Quaritch's behavior and spoke." I would love for you to keep watching the girl" the woman says as she turns to look at the whole team. "We'll see how the pregnancy develops and we'll make a decision along the way, but this child is as important as the girl. That said the meeting is over, everyone back to work" General Ardmore watched as Quaritch got up and quickly left the room. She could have dared to swear she was seeing another man in the room. But she decided to ignore that fact and returned to her work.
Three months later…
It had been three months since you were at the base. Daily life was strange. But neteyam still hoped you would come back. They hadn't communicated with you since that one time. But they decided to take your advice and keep a low profile. Jake, on the other hand, was losing his patience, but he wanted to control himself. He didn't want to do something stupid and then regret it. It was night in Pandora, and everyone was already in the hut, since you were kidnapped Spider had become closer to the family, so he was helping Kiri to arrange everything for dinner. Today was your birthday… the navi didn't celebrate this holiday like the humans, but Jake did, so neytiri got into the habit of doing it with her children. They all gathered together in a circle. Neytiri prepared your favorite food, and decorated the place with the things you liked. Kiri put on your favorite top. Loak put your favorite beads in his hair. Meanwhile neteyam was holding the bracelet you shared in her hand. "She would have loved all this… "loak says, you could see her trying to hold back tears. Neteyam gave his arm a squeeze. "she'll be back, you'll see!!!" says neteyam, neytiri couldn't understand how he was so sure. It had already been three months and they hadn't heard from you. You could have died or you just couldn't communicate. But everything was uncertain. Still she gave her eldest son a smile. " ok, let's go eat…I'm sure wherever she is she is thinking of us too. We love you y/n" said jake. And they all followed him. Spider saw how kiri had tears coming down her cheeks, he put his hand on the girl's cheek. Spider took Kiri's hand and said, "Don't worry, she'll come back". "I know… it's hard to be without her. We've always been together." Kiri said, squeezing spider's hand. It was hard… but they still had hope.
And yes, you were celebrating your birthday, but alone in the cold room. Your small stomach was showing, you're sure this baby was going to be big. You were fine though, and so was your baby. You were still sad, you had your dinner in front of you. You were sitting on the floor… the room was dark. Shit… this was not what you expected. It wasn't until you saw the door to the room open. "May I come in?" asks Quaritch, holding something in his hands. You had to admit, he had become your only friend here at the base, him and Lyle. But you were much closer to Quaritch. He used to spend afternoons with you, take you for walks around the base and the surrounding area. You knew he had changed, something about him wasn't the same. Never in a million years, you thought you were going to be drinking coffee, or so Quaritch called it while talking about the things that had happened throughout their lives. They also talked about how the "human" Quaritch was a bad father, how he never cared for spider. You knew that the "now" Quaritch was not exactly spider's father, but you were excited to see him pay attention to you, as you talked about how great spider was. His tail was going back and forth. "do you think i'll ever meet him" asks miles. "well… if you want someday I'll introduce you to him. He's a great guy" Quaritch gives you a warm smile, and offers you more coffee.
"what's that?" you ask, as he comes over to your spot and sits with you on the floor. "it's a cake, it's something symbolic, I remembered you had told me today was your birthday… so here's your cake. " You watch as his tail swishes back and forth, as he places the cake on the floor right in front of you. "Lyle couldn't make it, but he told me he wishes you all the best and he was going to send you more candy later" You laugh a little, but Quaritch notices your sadness. "I know I promised you to get out of here, but security is stronger…but don't think I've forgotten what I promised you. Give me a little more time" he said as he took your hand and squeezed it a little. "go on…blow out the candle" you bend down a little and blow. "I know you will keep it…eywa told me" you look at him and he smiles back. It was already late at night and you had already eaten the cake. You were talking about everything. Your conversations were always about the things you did with neteyam and your family. You talked about how much you loved neteyam and how you hoped he knew about his son. How the connection with eywa worked and how everything was connected to each other. Quaritch didn't know if it was, the fact that he now shared a body equal to the inhabitants of this planet, or was it the simple fact that you were talking. That kept him so interested in everything you were telling him.
Dammit… he had a crush on you. But you don't belong to him, and you never will. He had promised to help you get out of here and get you back to being happy with your family. Miles was so lost in his thoughts that he didn't notice when you approached him and placed a hand on his chest. Noticing the contact, he looked at you. "I know you can hear her… and you can feel her. But you must accept it. After all you are not that man" you say. The moment was very intimate, for a moment he felt that someone else was talking to him. You saw how some tears ran down his cheeks. "Yes I do" miles puts his hand next to yours. "Accept her and she will guide you" you say as you settle back. There was a rather long silence. "And if I accept her what will happen?" miles asks as he looks at you curiously. "you will be able to understand everything and you will feel complete" you say while eating some cake. "and I could change my name?" you look at him curiously. "you don't like your name?" you ask him. "well… it's not bad. But I don't identify myself when I'm called by it" Quaritch says, you could notice his anguish face. "And if we think of other names…something like rukoy or " miles interrupts you and says " I like noah't" he says firmly while looking at you, with a smile on his face. "I like it, it's very nice". He laughs a little and starts talking. "but I'll take Miles Quaritch". There is a small comfortable silence. "but I'll give it to you" you look at him curiously as he continues to speak. "It will be a proof that you were able to change the heart of a cruel monster" Quaritch says, you get up and hug him. He hugs you back. "I accept that… but you're not a monster, and I didn't change anything" you say as you get comfortable. Quaritch looks at his watch, and slowly gets up. "yes you did little one" he gives you a smile, as he leaves the room. "See you tomorrow" Miles says goodbye. The door closes, and you decide to pick everything up and put it on the table. You stand there reflecting for a bit, wow everything was so weird. You go to the bathroom to get ready, you were getting used to it, you settle into bed and fall into sleep quickly.
Miles was walking down the halls, he felt a sense of happiness inside him, he couldn't understand the feeling, but he liked it. But that feeling was interrupted, when he heard the voice of General Ardmore talking to a scientist. He was passing by the testing area by accident, and he could hear how the two people were trying to keep their voices low. Quaritch didn't want to be a gossip, but… he sensed that you were the topic of conversation. And he wasn't wrong.
He was hiding at the edge of the door, grateful for the hearing ability he had from the navi. At first he could only hear something about how the development of the pregnancy was continuing. But the hairs on the back of his neck stood up. "When the girl is about four or five months old, we can get the baby out. The sooner we get it out, the better," Miles felt his blood boil, "but the girl could die, this is a high-risk pregnancy, I think it is better for the baby to be born naturally," said the scientist. General Ardmore raises her voice. "listen to me, they have offered me an amount of money, which you have no idea… it is enough to create another base just like this one in pandora and finish this civilization, and all I have to do is to take that creature out of the mother and send it to earth" said the woman coldly. "but she can die!!!" the scientist tried to rationalize with her. "you have one week, to get that creature out of the mother's womb, prepare it and send it to earth." General Ardmore said, walking out of the room. Quaritch ran back, and hide in a wall. Miles couldn't believe what he was hearing…he had to get you out of this place now. And I had to do it fast.
Pandora's light came quickly, lately the nights were getting longer and the days shorter. Or so Neytiri thought. Today she decided to get ready to hunt, she hadn't done it for a long time. With everything that was going on, she was barely in the right mood. But today she felt it was a perfect day… so she took her bow and left the hut. The whole family was still asleep. He climbed into his ikran and set off. For the past few months, neytiri had spent near the base, waiting for a miracle to happen. Today she decided to hunt close to the area, not close enough to be in danger. On the other hand, you were already ready in your room, you already had a routine. By your calculations, Miles would be here with breakfast in about 20 minutes. You fixed your hair, put on your clothes and waited.
"Listen carefully Lyle, you will go to the hunt testing area, you will take blood from a thanator and put them in this container" Quaritch hands a glass container to Lyle. "and we will meet in the back area, in the storage rooms" Lyle nods his head. "As you order colonel." Quaritch had a plan in place, you were leaving this base today. He was going to make quite a scene. Since he used to walk with you lately, and take walks around… he was going to say that a thanator attacked them and took you. In his plan you would die, so they wouldn't have to follow you when you escaped. While they were making that scene, you would fly away with their ikran. It had to be quick, every day at 7:00 in the morning a herd of ikran used to fly near the base, towards the mountains, so you would be confused with the others. he had everything so organized, he knew this was going to work perfectly. Quaritch walked towards your room, his steps were quick but normal. He didn't want to arouse any suspicion.
Miles enters your room, you notice that he has nothing in his hands. "hey…and my breakfast…" you complain, but he grabs your arm. "we have to go, you're going home today" you looked at Quaritch surprised, you couldn't believe it. "are you serious?" miles looks at you and gives you a smile. "come, walk with me…we have to disguise" on the way to the storage area, Quaritch told you the whole plan, and you thought it was perfect. "but why are you doing this suddenly?" you ask, it seemed strange, he's been telling you to give him time to figure out a plan and magically now he's got one. Quaritch stops dead in his tracks and looks at you. "Y/n I didn't want you to leave…I liked you. I was trying to extend your stay here. But I heard about the plans General Ardmore has." He pauses and takes a breath, you can see beads of sweat pouring from his face. Quaritch liked you?. "She wants to extract your baby and sell it. No matter if you die, they only care about your genetics, and I'm not going to let that happen" Quaritch finished speaking. "I… I don't know what to say" you say as you touch your swollen belly. Quaritch stretches out his hand for you to take and you accept it. You both continue walking to the storage area.
When you arrive there was Lyle and Quaritch's ikran. "All ready sir, the clothes are full of blood and I put them in an area near here. The crime scene is ready" Lyle says, as you approach Quaritch's ikran, wow it was a beautiful specimen, but how were you going to ride it. "What's with those cameras?" you point to some cameras that were on the edges of the building. "shit" grumbles Miles. Lyle laughs a little and speaks "don't worry, I went in for a moment and deactivated them, we have about 30 minutes, before they activate you again". Quaritch walks over to you and looks at you a little worried. "This is my ikran, it's called 'cupcake'."
~~~~~~~~~~ silence~~~~~~~~~~
Lyle lets out a laugh. "cupcake? Are you serious?" you can't help but laugh, such a majestic beast, and what a name he has. "hey, don't tease….. The name isn't everything" Quaritch says, as he prepares his ikran. "I can't do it?" you say, as you step away from the ikran. "Why?" asks Lyle, the time running out. The ikran herd will pass in about 6 minutes. "I could never fly one of these things!!!" you yell a little. "but you can bond with them" speaks lyle. "yeah, but he's giant…" Quaritch kneels down and holds you by the shoulders. "well there's no time for that…it's now or never, little girl. Take good care of yourself, have your baby and take care of cupcake" You look into his eyes, and you could see the tears building up. "eywa has big plans with you, when you're ready…we'll be waiting for you." You say to Miles, then you look at Lyle. "And you too" You give Quaritch a big hug. "thank you" you see how he looks at you and hugs you back. "thank you to you" Quaritch says. You swear to see Lyle wipe his eyes. Quaritch removed a necklace with some badges on it from his neck, as well as Lyle. "Take this, it's for you to remember us" Miles says as he places the necklaces around your neck. "I love you guys so much" You smile, trying not to cry. "Go, go!!!!" Quaritch helped you up, You took your braid and connected it to the ikran. You had something special, the animals never got agitated with you." take care of cupcake!!!" shouts Quaritch, The two men walk away from the beast, while you start the flight. At that very moment the ikran herd are passing and you join him.
"You did well…. Very good" Lyle taps his boss on the shoulder. "We did good" Quaritch looks off into the distance, as you walk away. He still thinks you are the most beautiful creature he could have ever met. You look back, you couldn't believe it, you were free. You stroked the ikran and when you were far enough away from the base, you drifted to your destination. Your home.
After flying for a while you felt a little tired, this pregnancy was killing you with fatigue. And you felt that the ikran was getting uncomfortable because of your tiredness. So you decided to land on a tree, the landing was a success. "you saw that cupcake, I'm quite the expert" cupcake taps you on the head. You didn't have much time to celebrate, as you heard that distinguished noise. It was a shout, low but very firm. It was your mother's call, she used to do it to communicate with you, or when she went hunting. You couldn't believe it, she was close enough. You got down from the tree carefully and entered the forest. You were walking little by little following the noise. Until you saw in the distance, the figure of Neytiri, you wanted to cry, to scream… she was right there. Neytiri hadn't realized that you were right behind her. She was about to make her shot, when she felt something hugging her feet. When she looked down and saw you, her breath caught. "Mom, I got lost," you say, knowing she would remember that reference. Neytiri knelt down and hugged you. You could feel and hear her crying. "oh, thank you eywa… thank you!!!! My daughter has come home" neytiri kept hugging you, you shared her feelings. She pulled back, to look at your face, she was caressing your face. Until she looked at the bulge forming on your belly over the strange clothes you were wearing. "What is this?" neytiri put her hand on your belly. You lift up your shirt and show her your belly. "I am pregnant… neteyam" she looks into your eyes and you can see how neytiri's hand runs to her mouth, she is surprised. And she hugs you again. They were like that for about 10 minutes, it was a lot of information to process. "Let's go home!!!" says neytiri. "let me call cupcake "neytiri looks at you curiously." Cup…cupcake?" you look up at her, before whistling and the creature approaches the tree. "Mom, it's a long story."
Meanwhile back at the base…
Lyle and Quaritch called the rescue squad, they had reported a thanator attack. When the squad arrived, they looked at how the clothes were torn and full of blood, there was no trace of anything. "uhhh gross, it ate her completely" said one of the soldiers, while they were doing the routine tests. Quaritch was called to General Ardmore's briefing room. "What the fuck happened? You had a mission" said the general, not letting Quaritch fully enter the room. "Sorry general, but it wasn't that fast. We were taking a walk…you yourself authorized me to do off-base activities. And that creature came out of nowhere, I tried to stop it. But I didn't succeed, you know these creatures are very dangerous. I called the emergency team as fast as I could," Quaritch defended himself, good heavens… he was very good at lying. "What the hell are we going to do now? What am I going to do now?" says the general, while still cursing. "They couldn't find anything, the body is missing, he swallowed her whole. Poor girl, she had a great future" says Quaritch, while holding his waist. He was waiting for some response from the general. "'Miles… just go back to your station. Thank you" she says as she walks away towards her office. Quaritch leaves the room, as he pulls out of his pocket a seashell you had given him and a cinnamon candy. "I hope you are fine… little one" he says as he walks over to where his team is.
The trip to the shelter was short, you could feel your stomach turning, you were sure it wasn't the baby. It was just the nerves of seeing your family…and seeing neteyam. You two arrive, neytiri gets down from her ikran quickly and helps you down from yours. The first to notice who had arrived was tuk, the girl ran as fast as she could, "Y/N!!!!" she cried as she hugged you and cried. You were sure you would cry a lot today. Tuk dragged you towards the hut. As the girl dragged you, you noticed how everyone looked at you and waved. You saw someone run to the labs, you were sure they were going to tell Norm. As you entered the hut, you saw that Kiri, Loak and Spider were there. The boys looked at you and couldn't control themselves not to cry and ran to you. "You're here…I can't believe it" cries Kiri while hugging you. Loak didn't say anything and kept hugging you. "I knew you were coming back" says spider as you give him a tight hug. "You're still alive spider!!!" you say, all this time you thought he died. "well yes…here I am" he hugs you back. But then he notices something peculiar, just like your brothers. "are you…here's a baby?" asks loak, as he lifts the shirt off your belly. "yes…it's neteyam's" you look at your brothers, this made kiri start to cry more. The girl hugged your belly, while saying adorable things. "move aside… I want to hug her too" loak pushes kiri. These two were about to start arguing, until neytiri scolds them. " your sister has just arrived and you are already fighting!" Neytiri shouts. Spider laughs, and loak sticks his tongue out at kiri. You were so happy, you had missed them so much.
Out of nowhere, an agitated Jake walks in, he stands in the doorway of the hut in shock, he can't believe you were there. "Dad, I'm here" you say as you walk towards him. Jake walks over and carries you off the ground. "watch out!!!" complains neytiri. "my pretty girl, my sweet girl…. are you here!!!" jake looks into your eyes, as he examines you. And pauses, and then looks at you. "yes, she is pregnant" neytiri says. Jake hugs you again. "The important thing is that you are here!!!" jake keeps hugging you, and placing kisses on the top of your head. "we have to celebrate" says neytiri, as she joins in the hug. You were tiny in height, so your parents covered you completely. "I can't breathe!!!" you say, as Jake and Neytiri walk away laughing. You could see neytiri's smile, that smile… you loved her. You knew she was very happy. "mom, where is neteyam?" you asked her. " he is in the tree of spirits….. go, you are going to give him a big surprise" neytiri adjusts your hair a little bit. "hey, whose ikran is that?" asks jake, as he looks at the beast from the entrance of the hut. "it's mine… dad, it's a long story. It was given to me by a great friend" you say, as you run out of the hut. You want to see neteyam, then you would talk to your parents.
"Did they give it to her? The ikran can't only have one rider" jake asks neytiri. "yes, but… I don't know what to tell you" neytiri gives her partner a smile. She's too happy to worry about it. You go running to the soul tree, you had taken off your annoying shoes and could feel the grass under your feet. How you had missed all this… In the distance you saw the tree. And you kept getting closer.
Neteyam was sitting, he used to spend most of his time here. You came closer and could see him. His back was to you, he looked thinner and you swore he was taller. Neteyam had not noticed your presence, until you spoke. "Neteyam…" he looked up and saw you there. He stayed still for a while, he thought it was a game of his mind. He didn't move until he saw you waving your arms. "hello… ma nete" he interrupts you with a quick movement, he had knelt down in front of you and wrapped his arms around you. " ma y/n, you came back to me" you felt his tears fall on your shirt, you wrapped your arms around his head. " neteyam look at me" you took his face in your hands. you could see his dark circles under his eyes, how tired he was. Your poor neteyam, your dear neteyam. "You know I always come back to you" you pull him closer and give him a little kiss. Neteyam pulls you closer to him. It was not a perverse kiss, it was a kiss of "you have given me back my life" you separated from him to analyze his face. "So how come you're here? How did it happen?" asks Neteyam, checking every part of your body. You keep quiet for him to figure it out himself. The first thing he notices is the strange clothes you are wearing. And as he runs his hands down your side, he senses something in particular. You take his hand and bring it to your belly. "It's our baby, I'm about 3 months pregnant" neteyam was silent and then spoke. "That was at …." He asked, you reached over and gave him a kiss on the forehead. " yes, sir…. That day" neteyam hugged you again. you could see how his tail was wagging with excitement, his ears were perked up. Just then, loak arrives. "I don't want to interrupt you guys…but they're looking for you," says loak, as he approaches you. You knew he was happy too. You could see it on his face. Neteyam stood up and took your hand. When you approached loak, you also took his hand.
You went to the shelter, and you saw how everyone was preparing a party to welcome you. Kiri approached you and took you to the mo'at hut. When the woman saw you, she hugged you… and kissed you on the forehead. And said a few words to eywa. Kiri was already taking out of a drawer, an outfit that she had prepared for you. It was very beautiful, it had beautiful stones and corals. The women helped you take off your human clothes, while they dressed you in your new outfit. Mo'at caressed your belly, while drawing some white dots around it. It was a symbol of love and welcome to the new member of the clan. Kiri brushed your hair, you couldn't help crying a little. You missed these moments and here you were. Neytiri entered the hut and approached you. "Look… these are the items I wore during my pregnancies. They were mama mo'at's, then they were mine and now they are yours. When it is kiri's turn…she will inherit them from you" she says as she places them around your neck. "Mom don't say that… I'll never have a baby" complains Kiri, as she continues to fix your hair. "thank you mom" you caress her face, she leans into your touch.
When you came out of the hut, you could see that everyone was dancing and partying. Loak and neteyam were with their father. Spider was playing with tuk. And next to you were kiri and neytiri. They walked over to where everyone was. You looked beautiful, the men of the family looked at you with so much love. Jake took your hand and sat you right next to him. Neteyam sat on the other side of you and wrapped his tail around your belly. "Well family… now we are together" says Jake. You want to memorize this moment, everyone was together. Even spider was there…everyone. And they were happy. You feel neteyam give you a kiss just above your head. "i love you."
It was already very late and the party was over. You went back to the hut. Jake started asking you what happened in that place, and how you escaped. You told him the whole story, how Quaritch and Lyle had taken care of you and helped you get off the base. Jake couldn't believe what you were telling him. "y/n those men are dangerous," says Jake. "dad…they are not those men from before. Eywa has changed them. You have to believe me," you say as you look at him intently. Everyone in the family is listening. Neytiri looks at Jake. "It's okay… the important thing is that you are here and you are safe" jake gives your arm a squeeze. No one in the family was going to question what happened, they knew you had the ability to communicate and understand Eywa's decisions.
Everyone lay down to sleep, you and neteyam were lying together. His hand was on your belly. For the first time in three months, he was going to sleep in peace. The quietness of the hut was more than evident. "hey ma neteyam?" you say softly. "mmm?" neteyam's eyes are already closed. "how is my ilu Hì'i ? you have taken care of her, haven't you?" you ask, he can't believe you are asking that. "she is on the beach… she is fine and has eaten every day" says neteyam settling down to continue sleeping. "you saw that I have an ikran, miles gave it to me" you keep talking, neteyam couldn't be happier, for the first time in his life he didn't care that you were still talking. He wanted to keep hearing your voice all his life.
6 months later…
Your baby was born, he was a healthy baby, and he was completely navi, the only thing he had was the 5 fingers, someone that you, kiri, Jake and loak. They were all in the mo'at hut. Since you had returned things had slowly normalized. You were able to return to your old home in the forest, and the altercations with the humans were less. You knew Quaritch had something to do with this whole issue, and you were grateful for it…he was keeping his promise. "Let me see," said Neytiri as she took the child from your arms. You were tired…the delivery was difficult and painful, but you were fine. Neytiri held the baby carefully while jake took his little hand. "look at that…. Just like mom and grandpa. Welcome to the fraternity!!!" he said a little excited. Neteyam was next to you, he was stroking your hand. "thank you, love…" he said as he came up to your face, to give you a kiss on your cheek. Loak came in with spider and tuk. "make way… uncle loak wants to see his baby" neytiri hands him the baby. "watch out, loak if it happens to him…" says neteyam, as he gets up and goes to where his brother. Kiri had approached you, she was taking care of you. "hey, take it easy." Says spider, as he looks at the baby. "he is very beautiful!!!" spider looks at you, and you give him a smile. "now, hand over my son" neteyam says, taking the newborn out of his little brother's arms and carrying him to you. You take him, and neteyam settles down next to you. In fact, the whole family is sitting around you. "What are you going to name him?" neytiri asks you. You look at your son, keep silent for a moment, laugh a little and then speak. "his name will be… noah't".
p.s. What did you think of this ending? Did you like it? Well, in the end it didn't take too long to read. I had so many ideas, but this was my favorite. I hope I didn't disappoint anyone. If this sort of thing doesn't interest you or triggers you, hide dub con and non con from your tags as I will be tagging any fics like that as such
Main Blog (filled with more normal fics lol): @romanarose
This is absolutely not anything anyone needs to do bc ur lovely comments are enough but if anyone makes a book board, art, a fic or anything based off this series, you absolutely can! I know some creators aren’t for it but I love when people do that, and I’ve written a few fics for a few series myself. If you are so inclined and are okay with it, I’ll attach them to this master list (that includes if you don’t like my endings you can make your own 😂)
But as always, nice comments mean the world. I know with this sort of content you may not want to Reblog it on your page, but if you leave a comment or send an anon, that means the world and keeps me writing!
something i've been thinking about as GDC comes around again: it's amazing to sit in the same room with Real Industry People and hear the truth of why certain story decisions happened the way they did. studio games are odd group projects that take a really long time to make, and there are many irons in the fire and many interests at play. sometimes the stars align and a team gets a laser vision, creative freedom, and the budget they need, and they ship the thing they meant to ship.
but not always. if a character you love got killed off, it's entirely possible that their original writer left or they couldn't bring the voice actor back. or leadership wanted to close down old story arcs and tie up loose ends, or someone felt new characters would bring in a new audience. if a series seemed to drop a plot thread in a sequel, it's possible that the narrative team wanted to include it and it got cut for scope. or shareholders wanted to appeal to a different part of the playerbase. or the team had internal creative conflict, or any number of reasons as simple as "it got lost in the shuffle because we did so many rewrites". [important disclosure: i'm not vagueposting about specific games here. i'm just rattling possibilities off. resemblance, unintentional, etc.]
and of course that's not a phenomenon unique to video games. tv shows make snap decisions when they get canceled before the planned end of the story or a cast member wants to leave. movies' plots can change when a new director comes on board, or they bring in a script doctor, or an actor's problems interfere with the shoot. even louisa may alcott changed little women's ending over concerns that if jo remained unmarried, the book wouldn't sell. i'm not sure whether it was her publisher or she worried about it herself, but the point is, something got altered, and it can happen anywhere.
as a fan, i found these developers' stories both comforting and vindicating. for a long time, i've felt like someone riding two horses at once: the fanfic-and-OC girl playing on other writers' playgrounds, and now also the staff writer who sees how the sausage gets made. i've been affected - probably overmuch - by a character's sad end, only to learn that some third party or outside motive influenced it. i've met writers who also didn't like where a plot was going, but didn't have enough seniority on the team to protest it. i've heard stories along the lines of, "we were trying to make lemonade, man," and what shocked me more than the revelation is the peace i gained from it. it's a miracle the games shipped at all. the things that got made, got made. between professionals, it's neither heretical nor some wild flight of irrationality to ask, "what if things had gone a different way?"
and, i mean, it would be both cynical and incorrect to wave it all off and say that no storytelling motives are ever wholesome. some characters die because it's the logical conclusion to their arc. some universes with complicated worldbuilding benefit from narrowing their focus and shaving off a few subplots. i'm just saying many things are possible. when you only sit on the fan side, it's easy to feel like Canon™ looms above you, inviolable, when you're really in conversation with it. there's a lot of power in saying "i respect the team's accomplishments, but i would've made different choices." you'd be surprised how often the team agrees with you.
