Can I be so honest about people who like Malleus x Yuu content? Not the ones who are like high schoolers tho you guys are valid like I’m talking you haven’t been in Highschool in years and abt to graduate college type beat.

Ok so Malleus to me is someone who very much shows signs of Autism. I like him a lot since I loved the live action version of Maleficent when I saw it when I was younger and overall his silly way of going about. He is powerful yes but at the same time he’s still a confused and slightly spoiled child to me in a way especially when we learn about his meltdown he had as a child (furthering my opinion Malleus has autism or is in the spectrum in general.) also the fact he isn’t as old as Lilia is so he still has some years on him as a Fae. So when I see people shaping him into some kind of modern fantasy YA /Sarah J maas love interest it makes me look at someone like 💀💀💀 for the most part. I’m sure there are exceptions for people since I’m really only talking about people who outwardly say it and like if you’re a minor I don’t care ship yuu with Malleus all you want have fun but if not I’m gonna be even more so kind of like 💀💀. Mostly bc my bias towards YA fantasy. I mean I get the appeal of him but he’s not gonna be whirlwind romantic like everyone thinks he’s awkward and his special interest is gargoyles for fucks sake 😭😭. But that also goes to say this is mostly for people who see themselves in Yuu not the ones who have like cool Yuu OCs you’re cool. Anyways this is a rant bc so many people want this to be an Otome game bc they’re use to being able to date handsome characters and now that they don’t I feel like they’re sobbing on the floor like a toddler over it . I mean women power ig but like idc how hot you think Malleus is can we talk about his personality or his role in the story please? When Izzy first walked out I was worried that he would be made into a joke that the crew would laugh at

but then he started singing and the dancing began and I realized that he wasn’t meant to be a joke at all. This is the most open and happy we’ve ever seen Izzy and the show treated it that way. Not mocking him but instead celebrating this moment.

When we talk about queer representation it’s usually just focused on queer relationships, but what I love about this episode is it shows other sides of being queer. That moment where Izzy saw Wee John doing his makeup and had a realization that he wanted that too? That is what being queer means to me. The crew singing along and cheering for him? That is what being apart of the queer community means to me.

What i love about this show is that it shows queer joy, not in a sanitized way, but in away that is messy, beautiful, and without any mockery or shame.

san diego (12-26yo us residents, not the whole collection just commonly banned books)

these books unbanned cards (unless otherwise stated) get you access to each library's complete libby/cloud library collection, no hoopla/kanopy/physical copies included.

ebook collections are expensive to maintain (many american libraries have annual fees for non-residents because of this) but because of an uptick in book banning (particularly brutal in mississippi last summer) larger libraries have opened their doors more, which is very kind of them!

i've used my seattle card for the last several months and their libby collection has about three times the books that my local library does, which is wonderful for accessing more niche titles or skipping a waiting list. would love to hear of similar ebook initiatives internationally!

i use library extension (firefox/chrome/edge compatible) to check all my collections (+ the internet archive) at once, works for several different countries highly recommend it.

spotify seems to be offering 15hrs/month of audiobook listening to premium subscribers and while that does seem useful if you're already paying and are after a new release with a long library waitlist, libraries are better for everything else.
