I noticed you said that you're into both LU and LOTR... have you considered how those characters might interact? 👀 /curious /nf
- hero-of-the-wolf
Ooooo, ok ok actually yes i have!! Someone also requested a drawing of the Chain as the Fellowship so that may or may not be coming soon also! ;)
Anyway, in terms of how they would interact, hm. I think that each Link would kinda latch onto a member of the Fellowship that they most resemble, and kinda stick to them, but i think both groups would be chummy, and i mean, the pure defensive and offensive power of the Chain and the Fellowship combined would be immense.
In terms of similarities, here's kinda how i think of it:
Gandalf and Time: both are leaders, both are ridiculously powerful but don't use all their powers, both are kind, cryptic, and self-sacrificial, and have a soft spot for the little ones
Aragorn and Twilight: horse girls, but also natural born leaders, kinda mysterious, VERY protective, strong warriors, and extremely noble. Also they were both raised by a different people group (aragorn was half-human half-elf, raised by elves, twilight is hylian, raised by ordonians)
Boromir and Warriors: yeah so... this one is kinda just vibes. idek why, but would Warriors take three arrows or more to save one of his brothers? Absolutely. Also, Boromir is a Captain (Captain of the White Tower) and Wars is too, so they would relate on many levels there about taking armies to war and what not. Also... yeah... sorry Wars, of all the ppl to try to steal the ring it would be you. So sorry. And then he'd feel horrible about it and probably cry.
Legolas and Wild: long-eared archers with long, blonde hair. nothing more needs to be said here.
Gimli and Four: ok, hear me out on this one. Four is a blacksmith. He would have SO much respect for dwarves in their weapons and in their smithing skills in mining and making armor. He would probably just see shorter guy with a beard and latch on immediately because of his grandfather too. And both are a little embarrassed about being short and would NEVER want to be tossed unless absolutely necessary. Gimli would also be very impressed by Four's skills and have a lot to teach him too!
Sam and Sky: also vibes for this one. Sure Wild might be the Cook, but no one is as kind-hearted, loyal, over-protective, and compassionate as Sky and Samwise. Both have special ladies too, and Sky would 100% no hesitation carry one of his brothers up a massive exploding volcano if need be. Both soft, huggable, but not to be underestimated on the battle field.
Frodo and Hyrule: the burdens, my friends. the burdens. Frodo has to carry the cursed ring, Hyrule has to carry his cursed blood (as seen in Adventure of Link). Both are a bit shy, but very brave and loyal (we talkin' book Frodo here) and both have to go through a ton, kinda on their own. they are also both polite and selfless and have pure hearts that help them to resist the evil thrust upon them.
Legend and Merry: the trouble and disasters these two would get into, my goodness gracious. Legend may be a bit prickly around the edges, but he's also a prankster (Entrance), similarly to Merry. However, both of them have good hearts despite how they present themselves as tricksters. They are both loyal brothers who are extremely brave and adventurous.
Pippin and Wind: mostly just personality for this one. fun, childlike energy, brave, and sometimes make rash decisions. but also kind, lighthearted, and loyal. both are the youngest so they both have to deal with over-protectiveness from the other members of their group. they are both also dangerously curious, and likely to get up to mischief if one does not keep an eye on them...
Well, that was a total whirlwind, sorry for ranting!!! but I hope that answered your question!! Thanks so much for your ask, @hero-of-the-wolf!! i hope you are doing well! nice to meet a fellow LU and LOTR fan!! 🩵

....Okay, so....
This isn't exactly immediately following Corpus and Aegypius meeting- there's actually like 2 parts between that and this. BUT I've been projecting some of the more annoying aspects of what I was dealing with post surgery for like all of last month onto Corpus so...
You get this.
“OYE! GET YOUR TALONS AWAY FROM THOSE STITCHES!” Aegypius suddenly shouted from across the camp. Corpus made a squeaky sounding noise as he jumped and whipped his hands up to his chest. Only to proceed to groan as the startled movement aggravated the wound, the sharp pain radiating out from the sutured edges throughout his abdomen, and leaned his head backwards. He heard Aegypius get up and come over to the tent. He shot her a slightly irritated look when she reached the opening.
“What, did I scare you?” She smirked briefly down at him. Corpus’ frown deepened at her, and she snickered. Fortunately, she did relent immediately afterwards.
“Alright, sorry. I know sudden movements hurt.” Aegypius nonchalantly apologized. “You need to stop messing with the wound though.”
“I’m not doing it on purpose,” Corpus muttered. He realized his hands had started drifting towards the bandages again and plopped them down at his sides. He was almost tempted to stick them behind his back and lay on them, but didn’t want to move to do so.
“It itches, doesn’t it?” Aegypius hazarded a guess. Corpus’ eyes widened in surprise as he looked up at her.
“How’d you-?”
“Not my first time patching someone up with a deep wound.” She replied. “So I’m aware things can get uncomfortable and itchy under there. Especially you with your infection and drainage.” She frowned and crinkled her snout at the memory. Corpus grimaced; even if he couldn’t recall the time he was ravaged with the infection and fever, his imagination was easily supplying him with vivid and gross visions of what the wound had looked like. He didn’t want to keep thinking on that so he tried to change the topic to something else his subconscious had noticed long before he did.
“Speaking of wounds like this…” He started slowly, trying to word what he wanted to ask correctly. “Why are there still stitches in it? I would think there’s been more healing given the amount of time that’s past since…” He paused. Some part of him was still in disbelief that she had bothered to not just pull him off that accursed battle field but to patch him up and care for him as much as she had.
Aegypius raised a brow at him as she frowned. Possibly mistaking his question as a slight barb or suspicion against her care taking abilities. Corpus didn’t realize that, and only innocently blinked at her and tilted his head at her hesitation and look.
“I mentioned it before, when you woke up after your fever broke.” Aegypius reminded him. “You kept tearing your stitches out because you would thrash around during nightmares. Which also reopened that gash almost as frequently.” Corpus blinked again and tried to curl in on himself a tiny bit at hearing that. It must have hurt so much when it had happened. He was glad he didn’t remember it.
“Then add in the infection, and I actually had to lance it and around it a few times.” Aegypius admitted with a deep and tired sigh. Corpus made a small noise as his eyes widened again and his feathers pulled in close to his body, even more thankful his brain decided to reject those memories. It was Aegypius’ turn to blink at Corpus. She had never seen him do that before. He fluffed up when he was burning up and trying to expel body heat, but she hadn’t witnessed a Blue Song go sleek and even thinner than they already were. To her, it was very strange.
“Damn, you really are a twig…” Aegypius quietly mumbled to herself.
Corpus blinked, having heard her say something but not being able to hear it clearly. “…What?”
“What?” She asked right back at him. He furrowed his brows and looked at her confused, but ultimately decided to let it go. His feathers returned to normal as he did so.
“Never mind. But… Yes, all that does explain why I still have stitches in.” He nodded.
“And why if you tear them open again, I am ripping out your talons out of your fingers.” Aegypius deadpanned. Which was a mistake as Corpus made another small squeaky noise and his feathers started to pull in again.
“Joking! I’m joking!” She hurriedly clarified. She huffed and rubbed a hand over her eyes. “But I am getting tired of replacing them. If you could keep these last ones intact, I’d appreciate it.” Corpus glanced up at her, briefly catching a glimpse of the exhaustion she was dealing with still before she dropped her hand away from her face and hid it once more. He felt a small pang of guilt at having unintentionally made more work and stress for the Saurian who bothered to save and try to heal him.
“As I said before, I’m not doing it on purpose…” Corpus quietly defended himself. “But… I’ll, I’ll try to be more conscious of it and stop myself if I start doing it again,” he offered. It was the best he could do, for the moment anyway. Hopefully once the bandages came off the urge to scratch at and around the wound would decrease.
Aegypius cocked her head at him, having noticed the tiny shift in his demeanor. She couldn’t guess what caused it, except for maybe he still was considering her threat of declawing as genuine. Which wouldn’t completely surprise her given her Kindred’s reputation.
“That’s the best I can ask for, given everything.” She shrugged. “…How’s the pain, by the way?”
“…Fine. It’s fine.” Corpus answered. “As long as I’m not moving, it’s tolerable anyway.” He paused before narrowing his eyes and frowning at her. “And not jumping out of my skin because someone decided to suddenly raise their voice out of nowhere.” Aegypius couldn’t help the laughter that escaped her. Compared to the larger and more aggressive Desert Saurians she knew and sometimes had the misfortune of angering, the poor Blue Song soldier’s disgruntlement was comparable to that of a Nemicolopterus trying to scare a Saurian off of it’s food source. She did clamp a hand over her mouth when his glare got worse due to her amusement. It still took a moment for her to stop, however.
“Alright, alright. I’m sorry about that.” She waved a hand. “I’ll also try to keep the sudden shouting to the bare minimum.”
“You’re sorry about the sudden movement or the laughing spell at my expense?”
Aegypius snorted but thankfully didn’t start laughing again. “Fine, both. Though mostly for the movement and pain.” Corpus grumbled softly and rolled his eyes once.
“I’ll take that, thank you.”

Hello! I really like your characters and stories! In Special Delivery, are there factions or organizations running the post apocalypse society? You mentioned Post Offices and zombie shots and I wondered who manages these things.
AW ta mate!! <3 Haha there are definitely some big "groups" of people that have gotten more power ever since the end of the world happened XD And the ones I'd say are in charge or at least believe they are in charge would be the Mad Scientists, the Assassins guild, the few people still caring about OHSR stuff, and of course the Post Office!

The LU Chain in Volleyball
I spent all day watching my siblings play Volleyball with their teams, and had this thought of what the Chain would be like on a team of their own.
Time: Quiet coach. He tries to grow team spirit by making the team take disciplines together, but also knows how to quietly take aside a player who is struggling and help them in private.
Warriors: Team captain. Hitter. The type who knows he’s good and is frustrated when everyone else isn’t communicating or playing as well as he knows they can, but tries to encourage out real potential and not let his irritation get to him.
Twilight: Ace hitter. Anywhere he is he’ll get the ball over and through the most consistently. He can hit right or left handed. He’s the type of player who apologizes a lot, who looks intimidating but is actually sweet, and who calls himself out to the refs (which irritates some of his teammates).
Sky: Setter. He’s good at making sure everyone in his team is doing well emotionally. He’s encouraging and sweet, but has an uncanny precision and control of his sets.
Four: Libero. He’s a very balanced player, and very good at noticing the morale and emotions of the other players, and good at making jokes where necessary, or at showing himself a good defense to bolster confidence. He has quite a few brothers and they were raised in such a way that they have learned teamwork very well. He rivals Warriors for best team player.
Legend: Back row. Loves blocking when in the front. He’s been playing the longest of any of them, though he’s had a different team every year he’s played. He’s been in higher divisions (though home life has him playing on this smaller team now), and he knows all the rules and the way things are supposedto be and it bothers him when things are disorderly, unprofessional, or out of place. Sometimes his perfectionism gets on his teammates’ nerves.
Hyrule: back row. He’s very good at defense. He’s the type of person who quietly plays the game, kindly goes through the motions and cheers everyone on, but doesn’t do (or expect) a lot of interaction outside of practice and play and so knows very little about his team and vice-versa. He is a little bemused to find that this team doesn’t quite run that way, but he enjoys it when he gets to spend extra time with them rather than being on a loner team like in his past.
Wild: hitter. He subs in for Four when the libero reaches the front row. He’s wild and friendly and encouraging, but he bears a lot of baggage from his last team which wasn’t the best. He and all his teammates were put under a lot of pressure and he lost all joy for the game before transferring to this team. He feels like the failures of his past team all falls onto his shoulders, and many of them quit playing altogether from that experience. Sometimes, when he gets stressed or forgets this team is different, he’ll fall back to a serious and tense persona and seem the opposite of his normal cheery self. This is very bad for on court communication and team morale.
Wind: He has experience as the oldest on his previous teams and now he’s the youngest and least experienced and it’s grating to him. Everyone expects him to be worse because of his size and age and he’s mostly a bench warmer. He subs in on occasion (most often to replace Wild in one of his moods), and in those times shows himself competent. He has to play off the net because he’s so short. He’s not as strong or fast as some of the others, but he has a consistency born from captaining and helping carry his past team.

Honestly May was a great reading month for me, I enjoyed all of these books! The Janet Evanovitch/Lee Goldberg one is a "Guilty" pleasure it's like the perfect popcorn series, super fun though not the best written. Movie Wise I'd compare them to Oceans 11 or the Italian Job.
Murder in G Major is great! A fun supernatural murder mystery with a musical aspect.
Of course I'd enjoy the Murder She Wrote Mysteries as it's one of my favorite shows. The books are well plotted, interesting and engaging!
Lady Tan's Circle of women was really well written and it was interesting reading about this historical figure, even though it's a fictionalized account.
I Know What You Did Last Summer is the book the film is based on! It's very different but it's a solid YA horror. It's very different from the movie according to googling it after I read it XD (Never seen the movie)
Loved the Name of the Rose 🌹 no notes personally! I might up the rating to 5 tbh.
