A Game Between Two Hunters: s2e9
In order to lure "Red Eyes," Cheng Xiaoshi is the one who suggests they play "a game."
Tumblr media
He continues to bait, telling "Red Eyes" to use the clue to find him, and promises not to involve the police in the matter.
Tumblr media
"Red eyes" is intrigued, and hunts him down. Not just for the hunt, but with a desire to make a friend.
Tumblr media
"Interesting! If I win, will you promise to be my new friend?"
With what we now know about Li Tianchen and his penchant for the hunt, well, obviously he's excited. Another person with powers? Who is inviting him to play a game of cat and mouse? Very interesting indeed!
And so, he receives the clue and shows up at Time Photo Studio at the appointed time... where he is greeted by Cheng Xiaoshi:
Tumblr media
And if that isn't the face of a hunter who has cornered his prey.
Tumblr media
Red Eyes is thrilled. The hunt begins. Who is going to win? It's hunter vs. hunter after all, and the opponent is proving himself to be skilled.
But then.... Cheng Xiaoshi cheats. He calls the police. He breaks his promise. Cheng Xiaoshi lied. "Red Eyes" is not happy. His new friend just betrayed him!
Tumblr media
This wasn't a fair win, the hunt is not over! And just because "Red Eyes," (who I am just going to call Li Tianchen at this point), has the upper hand, he imposes a rule on Cheng Xiaoshi. Cheng Xiaoshi cannot lie. And Li Tianchen enforces that rule with glee.
______________________________________________________________
At this point I'm going to break and make an addendum to my previous "Lu Guang-can't-tell-the-future post." Because Lu Guang does discuss this photograph in detail with Cheng Xiaoshi. (Mind blowing what teamwork can do for you, huh.) He's the one who calls the police. Presumably on Cheng Xiaoshi's direction.
Tumblr media
But I do think there's a point there. Cheng Xiaoshi is the one who theorizes that this is all his doing. He makes a very educated guess as to what the future will hold, and requests Lu Guang let him handle it. And Lu Guang does. But if the order of events can be believed (I'm not sure they can) then Lu Guang warns of the masked man's appearance before Cheng Xiaoshi spills the beans. Honestly I think that was played for suspense, and they discussed a full plan prior, but who knows.
______________________________________________________________
In any case, back to the hunt. From Li Tianchen's perspective, this wasn't a fair match. The hunt is still on and his new cheating friend needs to be taught a lesson. Coincidentally, if I'm really going to play into this game&rules train of thought, then Lu Guang possibly broke a rule too. He gets away with discussing the photograph if and only if Cheng Xiaoshi deduced how the event would unfold first. If he let something slip before that... well, maybe this is a double punishment deserved.
Tumblr media
This game of cat and mouse is still on, with Li Tianchen holding an overwhelming upper hand. I wonder. Sticking myself to this train of thought (because why not, this is all for fun), Cheng Xiaoshi cant lie. Lu Guang can't speak of the future. Does Li Tianchen have a rule too?
Bonus: probably completely unrelated:
Tumblr media
That game where they must follow unseen rules:
QL: say "don't move" . CXS: must not move . LG: say "why"
What a fun game this is haha

I can just see Vhagar, Dreamfyre and Sunfyre trying to cuddle up with the cannibal in the isekai!reader prompt since dragons were theorized to share their feelings with their riders except Alicent now has a terrifying formerly wild protector (cannibal)
you don’t have to do the Alicent if you don’t want to I’m just a super Alicent fan and the writers BUTCHERED her in episode 8 via the spoilers 💀
Poor cannibal is being smothered in clingy dragons, and he's merely tolerating it because he knows that they are precious to the reader. Like a grouchy cat :') I love the idea however of dragons sharing feelings with their bonded riders, like how Caraxes got all happy when he saw syrax! Sunfyre, although we haven't seen much of him, from what we saw I speculate him to be an absolute sweetheart. He's shiny and looked after well, not all too familiar with fighting or killing- he just wants to cuddle and fly with Aegon, so naturally he'd be a sweetheart to cannibal due to Aegon and readers bond.
Dreamfyre is often depicted to be ferocious and hot tempered, a contrast to the soft spoken Helaena. Her fire may even rival Cannibal's, but maybe they'd find a common ground on that. They're both protective of their riders, so perhaps they'll find a mutual appreciation of one another.
With vhagar, she's an infamous ancient war dragon, who although still has a taste for blood and fire, is fairly chill- depending on Seconds commands. She and cannibal would be the oldest dragons there, so maybe they'd be a sense of mutual respect between them.
I'd like to write more into the concepts about dragon bonds and whatnot, so just some thoughts! Cannibal is still a hot tempered old man, so he's not all sunshine and rainbows with anyone besides his rider- tolerance is the most likely best case scenario out of him. Still, it's fun to imagine!
But no I get you with Alicent! She's such a complex character, I think she's super interesting and I'm planning to write some stuff on her. It's so sad seeing her story lay out, the tragedy of it all. I could go on and on about her 😅 she deserves love too!

In lieu of my latest reblog about people taking compelling characters and projecting their writing onto some other (usually white) dude, I want to bring up a post I had drafted all the way back from April, but never posted because at the time I still had enough patience not to. But now is different. I do think this analysis is a bit outdated because it doesn’t consider the mediocre white dude angle of Belos that I find paramount, but it’s good enough for my repurposed point.
-
            I find it funny when some people complain that the narrative was unfair to Belos despite his “trauma” and circumstances, like there aren’t multiple characters out there who parallel his issues, and get sympathy AND a redemption, in all but one case! Belos is narratively condemned not for what he has in common with others, but for what sets him apart, particularly his stubborn ego. Cases in point;
“Belos deserved to have sympathy for having an unhealthy attachment to his more confident sibling that was mixed with resentment over being abandoned for someone else, culminating in guilt over hurting them and regretting it!”
Lilith exists. She’s motivated by a massive inferiority complex with Eda, Gwen favors her. She’s clearly salty about Eda going off to have fun with Raine, and claims to Luz that she’s Eda’s ‘real’ family. She cursed her sister and felt enormous guilt over it… But in the end, Lilith IS given sympathy by the narrative, and the chance to redeem herself. And she takes just that.
A lot of the people claiming Belos deserved better theorize that stabbing Caleb was an accident, and you know what? So was the permanence of Eda’s curse, Lilith expected it to only last a day and certainly not transform her sister. But Lilith still owned up. And she learned to make other friends while respecting Eda’s boundaries.
“Belos was an orphan raised in a culture that encouraged genocide and a hatred of wild magic!”
Caleb exists, he went through the exact same childhood as Philip, but still chose to change. And while they weren’t orphans at the time, Hunter and the Collector were also raised on genocide, taught to find wild/Titan magic apprehensive. But they loved it instead.
“But Belos actually lost his brother, his loved one died!”
So did Hunter’s! And he was shown to be snappy and aggressive, pouring himself into a mission to cope! But he still owned up, apologized to Willow for rebuking her. He lost Flapjack, and instead of making replicas of his lost loved one to keep to himself, discarding anyone that wasn’t close enough, Hunter made a diverse array of palismen for other kids, to give them the loving relationship he lost! Even his own palisman was clearly carved to be different from Flapjack, reminiscent but still their own thing.
Then there’s Darius, who lost his mentor the previous Golden Guard; His own ‘Caleb’, so to speak! And he was also unpleasant about it, he took his grief out on Hunter, who had nothing to do with this! The canon audio diaries even confirm the apprehension has been going for a while… But Darius realized he was wrong to have projected onto Hunter, made up for this by practically adopting the kid and giving this kid the happy ending his mentor didn’t have; Passing the cycle of kindness the Golden Guard started. And his own grief is pointed out to the audience by Hunter himself.
“They should’ve shown how having a hero complex and a desire to live out a fantasy can corrupt anyone!”
Luz and the Collector. Luz herself makes these comparisons for Belos, and there were times where she hurt her friends trying to live out her fantasy, and/or planned to leave them under the impression she was doing the ‘right thing’. Luz makes a legitimate consideration that she could’ve been Belos, if she refused to listen to others and change. But Luz owned up! As did the Collector, whose escapism and wish to play the role of the ‘hero’, in this case Luz, causes them to do some pretty terrible things. But they still change after being called out, and are still given sympathy over the loneliness and trauma that fueled their escapism, as was Luz.
"Philip struggled with getting over a different type of fantasy, one that relied upon him conquering and hurting others!"
As did King! And King got over that, he quickly learned that other people would always be more important than his fantasies, even if the 'sacrifices' were a lot more minor. King started off the same, the difference is that he still grew up and that's why we judge his antics as so much more light-hearted.
“Well that’s not fair, Philip’s examples were more extreme!”
How about Eda’s curse? Belos never brings up his other sources of trauma as an excuse for his actions, but you know what he does invoke? His curse, claiming to Hunter and Luz that it forced him to act certain ways. But we see Eda, who got a rawer deal with her curse; She didn’t bring it upon herself, as Belos did. She legitimately loses control when it takes over. She scarred and disabled her father because of it, and you know what?
Eda never uses her curse as an excuse. She never lets that justify what she’s done to people, and she even befriends the creature at the source of her curse, the Owl Beast. The curse she deals with is objectively worse, objectively more unfair, than Belos’. But it’s only Belos who actually cites his curse as an excuse, and the palismen at the source of it? He kills them.
“Belos’ cursed form is treated as ugly and evil!”
The palismen amalgam in his mind looked almost exactly the same, to the point where Hunter, who had seen Belos’ cursed form in person before, thought they were identical. But in the end, the palismen amalgam, despite resembling Belos’ cursed form, is a sympathetic and tragic victim who is murdered. Luz and Hunter mistaking him for Belos is justified, but it’s also still regrettable that they are judged by appearances.
“It hurts people to sacrifice their morals for the greater good, you know!”
Raine did that, they felt compelled to drag Darius and Eberwolf (one of whom was a childhood friend) into a murder-suicide, because as far as they knew, they were already going to be caught and executed, so may as well take their oppressors down with them! And they aren’t called out for it, because they couldn’t have known about Darius’ actual intentions…
Because in the end, sometimes you have to punch a fascist, and sometimes you have to oppose a friend or loved one because they took the fascists’ side. It’s why Lilith is expected to change for Eda, not the other way around. Raine is not the aggressor here, it’s all from the principle of self-defense for themselves and the isles as a whole.
And in the end, it’s because Raine is approaching from a place of actual good intent and moral concern that there are lines they still refuse to cross; As soon as they learn about Luz and King, they sabotage their own plans because they refuse to orphan these kids they just found out about for the ‘greater good’. When one of those very kids, Luz, makes Raine promise to keep Eda safe, you can see the conflict between their morals and their obligations in their eyes as Eda accepts the Bard sigil, and ultimately Raine powers through the draining spell to save Eda’s life, simply because Luz asked them to.
I’ve talked since their debut of how Raine has some similarities to Belos, in particular how they both work their whole lives to infiltrate a group from within to topple it, even as they publicly support it as a celebrated leader. They both had to lie and work under the radar, and make effective rhetoric; They each wear their own masks. Raine has to constantly lie to and rebuke Eda about being brainwashed, and we can see the moral agony it gives them!
But Raine is opposed to a legitimate threat, whereas Belos is completely making one up; Raine has to work under the micro-management of tyrants with control over them, Philip has been free from his colony for centuries, and even after finding out Gravesfield gave up on its witch hunting mission in the present, still traps himself of his own will. Belos feels no guilt for any of his ‘necessary evil’.
Raine had actual morals unlike Belos that they did sacrifice, for an actual greater good, and they actually hurt over these choices. They dedicated their whole life to stop a dark and twisted parallel, which makes their inclusion in the finale as the only person outside of the core trio to help against Belos all the more deserved; They even help deliver the killing blows. And Raine is rewarded for all of their effort, allowed to see it come to fruition and rest happily afterwards, because they really were sincere, and actually did make sacrifices, something Belos preaches but never follows. Most importantly, Raine knew they couldn’t justify everything even for their morally-justified mission.
“Belos was still legitimately wronged by Caleb for nothing, he didn’t deserve to be abandoned!”
Even if we believe Caleb did ‘abandon’ Philip or whatever; The Collector was legitimately wronged by the Titan, imprisoned and isolated for millennia despite being innocent. But while he justifiably calls the Titan a bully, he never takes this out on King, or any other Titan for that matter, remembering the rest with love. Nor is the Collector expected to forgive the Titan; The Titan accepts she made the wrong call. After all, imprisoning the Collector left them in a vulnerable state to be exploited by Belos, and give him the draining spell…
The Titan and Caleb’s mistakes were very much that, but the Collector matured for others, without needing an apology from the dead person who wronged him. And based on what we see of Belos’ memories, Caleb probably DID get to deliver that apology when he was alive, and Philip still insisted on being bitter!
“His only childhood friend just ditched him for someone else!”
That’s what happened to Willow, and that’s how she understood it for most of her life; Amity leaving her behind because she was too weak, and kids like Boscha and Skara were more popular, stronger, etc. But not only does the show say her rage against Amity is totally warranted and that the onus is on Amity to apologize, even if she didn’t choose to leave Willow (keep in mind she still saw Willow as a weak person to protect without input, as we later see in Labyrinth Runners)…
Willow is still kind. She still opts to be compassionate to Gus, and to Luz, and in general a nurturing person despite her abandonment. And when Willow is given the chance to take revenge on Boscha by stealing her glory in Grudgby, she doesn’t kick the girl while she’s down to do so; But Willow is also allowed to still hold anger towards Boscha, as we see in Season 3. And assuming Caleb wasn’t malicious about leaving Philip behind, we clearly see how he welcomes his brother back and wants things to get better, just as Amity does; He had his own side of the story. And Willow doesn’t kill Amity despite being primed to very easily do so…
"But imagine finding out they CHOSE to leave you, when you thought they didn't!"
Camila?!?! In fact, Camila was THE precedent for this, and people went and applied her tragic scene to Philip to make HIM into some angsty sadboi! And last I checked, Camila didn't exactly murder Luz... Plus, Philip had infinitely more time to see Caleb and Evelyn interact, and thus figure out that Caleb wasn't being kidnapped or brainwashed; Compare that to Camila who is just dunked into that situation out of nowhere, and is barely even adjusting to Vee's existence on top of finding out Luz was someplace else the entire time, and dealing with Jacob.
"A lot of family members at least start off as well-intentioned when hurting loved ones, they could've shown that!"
Bold of you to assume that Belos' selfish entitlement towards Caleb is the same as Camila or Gwen's legitimate concerns for their daughters; They did unconditionally love and they were misguided. But when shown they were causing pain, they actually shifted gears instead of focusing on how they were fight because they knew better. And what they were doing WAS still harmful, even though they DID care.
“Belos was probably a weirdo himself, and suffered from internalized hatred for his deviancy!”
Lilith dyed her hair to fit in with the coven, and be taken seriously. Amity suppressed herself to be a stoic perfectionist, constantly trying to justify her own existence as she says; She had to work to be good at magic while others like Gus, Emira, and Edric were naturally talented, and was made to hate those who weren’t successful as witches. Hunter too loathed his own lack of bile magic!
Most tellingly, Camila herself was taught to hide her weirdness, grew up thinking she was successful for doing that, and even tried to impose the same on Luz because of that misconception! But Camila realized what was done to her was wrong, and the same applied to her daughter; Accepting Luz’s weirdness meant accepting her own.
“Even if he still chose to double down in villainy, Belos could’ve at least been given a moment where he was sympathetic, where his sadness was shown, before nevertheless deciding his fate!”
Kikimora had an entire episode where she agonized over her obligations to a mother that seemed low key abusive, given her threat to disown her. We see her hesitate, cry, and be legitimately disappointed when she’s rewarded for staying with Belos by ‘getting to live’, a reward that doesn’t even last by the Day of Unity! Even after Kikimora makes her choice to betray Luz and Amity, we still get a final scene of her looking uncertain and even regretful of her decision, before she commits. Kikimora isn’t redeemed but is still humanized, despite being less human than Belos, so to speak.
She’s even a dark parallel to Lilith, having jealousy towards the Golden Guard, an emotionally abusive mother, and an inferiority complex towards other members of the coven despite working directly with Belos! And she is given many chances to escape Belos, a few months where she is legitimately free from him, and chooses to remain in her ways because Kikimora’s difference with Lilith isn’t that life was more unfair to her, it’s that she refused to change.
Now this is a bit out there, but there’s also the other Coven Heads! Mason, Vitimir, Hettie, and Osran! The show was shortened, so who knows what they could’ve provided for the story… Mason, Hettie, and Osran especially, since they’re not included amongst the coven head loyalists who still cling to power, even after Belos’ death. The show could’ve easily set up sympathetic moments to indicate a possibility of change, paying off in the epilogue; But because of Disney, you can’t blame the writers for not delivering everything they could’ve.
“How about a character who was just… an asshole, no outside reason given?”
Boscha, who was popular and privileged. While she does allude to some pressures that motivate her, as far as we know, there wasn’t really anyone or anything that made her be so cruel towards those she perceives as lesser. But despite this, Willow doesn’t see any point in trying to take Boscha’s spotlight as a Grudgby captain, when offered by her teammates; She doesn’t kick Boscha when she’s down. And Boscha is ultimately still recognized as unhappy with the loss of her friends, so even if she does do egregious things during the Collector’s reign, Amity offers Boscha the chance to become better and improve, as she did. And she takes it!
“Well, none of these characters had to grapple with having done things nearly as bad as Belos!”
And why do you think that is? Why are Belos’ sins so monumental in comparison, how did they get so bad? Because he kept refusing to change, kept refusing each opportunity, and got worse because of that. His first confirmed murder was Caleb, who right beforehand embraced his brother during what appeared to be a manifestation of the curse. But Philip still chose to commit his first sin despite receiving such unconditional sympathy, because he wanted control, not happiness. He didn’t start off as a genocidal dictator, he worked his way up to that over centuries.
“They make it seem like Belos was born evil!”
Our earliest chronological appearances of Philip are as a happy, carefree child who plays games with the brother he loves and looks up to; That isn’t the portrayal of someone ‘born’ evil. This is the portrayal of someone who became that way, over time, because he refused to concede anything to anyone, and wore away what decency he had across centuries, until we see the Emperor that Belos is when the show starts.
An evil dictator who ravaged an entire world for hundreds of years came from an innocent little kid, and Luz becomes self-aware of how this can apply to her, even as she’s reminded that she also ISN’T like Belos because of this critical reflection and willingness to listen. Belos, on the other hand, consciously cultivated an echo chamber for centuries, killing any Grimwalker he felt disagreed with him, despite their unconditional love and support. He deliberately shut himself off from the isles and ignored the kindness of others.
Bump reminds Faust that it’s disingenuous to project malice onto children who often simply don’t know any better, and just need to be given a chance to be taught and educated. But kids also have to take initiative to mature when they get older, hence why we hold adults more responsible; The established logic is that Belos wasn’t an evil child, he was simply a child who never grew up and that’s where his evil came from, rather than being some pre-existing source.
To be honest, I think the narrative doesn’t bother showing sympathy to Belos over his trauma because he’s already HAD more than enough sympathy, across centuries, from his brother, the Grimwalkers, his followers, even Luz and the Collector! So the story doesn’t feel the need to waste tears on someone who already got them, and instead focuses sympathy to characters who haven’t received as much, if any; People like Lilith, Amity, Hunter, etc.
Belos is the culmination of other characters’ traumas (who prove you can still choose to be better and happier despite these things), and was practically coddled by the people in his life for it. But he still chose to be bitter, never opened up to accept help, and his rejection brought even more pain that he could only blame on himself. Belos’ only tragedy is his refusal to change for the better; Even the narrative has made it clear he had chances, tears wept for him by people he knew.
He is a mirror to so many characters, what could’ve happened if they looked at their own pain and used it as justification to continue lashing out, because clearly they are the underdog heroes who have been wronged and are fighting against an injustice, right? The hero of their own story, if you will. Hell, we still also get that with Kikimora, as I just said! What I’ve listed is not a double standard, but rather proof that Belos was not uniquely condemned by his circumstances, for he is alike many characters as I mentioned. And Belos does not need to be portrayed “sympathetically” in order for the audience to understand the relevance of these parallels; Namely, that Belos has no excuse to still be like this when those similar nevertheless choose not to be cruel, and will accept others’ compassion.
And besides, with how the show was shortened… Who’s to say the writers didn’t plan to throw Belos a sympathetic moment of genuine loneliness, before doubling down? Not that they really would’ve needed to. But if they planned it, the writers had to leave it out to prioritize the weirdos this show is actually about, due to the shortening.

I really do worry, as these BL actors get older and more comfortable in their lives and work with more people over more years, that this brand pairing is going to cause a lot more pain to both actors and fandom than we're considering right now. From people heartbroken over actors separating to people being upset that actors are friends with each other after a series to people calling it queerbatiing when real people are clear they're not dating each other... parasocial relationships have not slowed down and the people who theorize about real relationships and get invested in Every Little Thing are only growing. I've seen videos trying to compare them wearing rings in official photographs and the amount of people who are convinced that all of these actor pairs are not just dating in real life but also secretly in love forever who get heartbroken each time they try to continue their career...
It's one reason why, no matter how much fun fanservice can be, it's not something I feel able to participate in because it's so easy to see the people get sucked in and I find uncomfortable to try to enjoy something that's just fun and goofy with people who are So Absolutely Convinced This Is Real that they're out counting up money they're spending on birthday gifts for each other or videotaping their mothers at events and trying to decide what they're saying and it's just... it's wild to me.
(This brought to you by me enjoying some BL shorts and somehow ending up, despite my best efforts to trim them out, with a lot of shipper/fanservice content that is now constantly filled with people being heartbroken over so many pairings that, like, did one show together.)
I understand fanservice and don't condemn it, it can just be fun and amusing and cute! But people take it far, far too seriously... to the point that we can see shows being shaped around it and that it can make it harder to find success for actors who don't pair brand even if they're good or better actors and it's just wild to me, honestly.
But just... look, I get it, they're good actors and they put a lot of time into making this all look and feel as real as possible because that's what people expect. That's what fanservice has come to mean. And that, in a lot of ways, traps actors into not just a pair brand but often into specific roles and when they want to expand those roles... they're met with these objections and to people upset that they're working with someone new or doing something new or trying to be themselves and trying to be friends with people and it's just... it's so wild to me.
I try not to talk about actors because they're real people and I don't know them. I can't talk about them like that. But I can talk to the fans. And I can say that.
They are all real people. They cannot queerbait you. They probably aren't really dating. And they don't owe you anything. They don't owe you the truth, whatever that might be. They aren't lying, they're acting. That's what you want them to be doing!
I really do worry about this as BL actors keep acting in BLs as they grow up because when they're younger their worlds are smaller and they're just starting out but now there are BL actors in their thirties and they're leading living and kissing homies for fun and staying friends with old acting buddies and there are fans who aren't keeping up with that and they're always the scary ones, somehow.

Jones confirms that, just like in Rice’s books, Armand is the one who turns Daniel into a vampire. “Will we see that moment of turning? No, but Armand finally made a vampire and clearly made him out of spite,” he says with a laugh. “It looks like it was really not a great moment [between him and Daniel], but that connects those two characters. They will have scenes going forward, obviously.”
This is from the latest Rollins interview. I feel like an idiot now, I was desperately hoping that we would see the turning next season - but while I think Rollins may not reveal everything I don’t think he would outright lie. So we won’t see the turning.
I walked into the finale open to an exclusively present-day DM that might(!) kick-off and I didn’t expect too much given what screeners had warned about. I never thought Daniel would be turned completely off-screen however… I know there’s rumours they might write DM into the past still, but I’m a fan of Daniel and Armand outside of the ship as well and knowing we won’t see Daniel’ turning, probably won’t see anything of his first time with becoming a vampire (because of the time skip) and seeing that Armand might(?) actually have turned someone out of spite makes me just sad.
I also feel a bit off-put by how Rollins is speaking about if, feels a bit like he’s trying to affirm to fans well see more of them together (maybe surprised that so many people are invested?) but also just gives off the vibe that the DM if it all wasn’t fully planned out in the moment of writing. Which sucks when you decide to have one turn the other! This frankly does not inspire confidence and make me feel like my favourite characters been reduced to plot devices (in good writing characters can be both character and plot tool but now this doesn’t feel like it).
F*ck I’m sorry, I realise this is not a fun post to read, I just feel really upset. Thank you for hearing me out!

Tumblr media
Okay. So.
I let this simmer a bit (and I still have a lot of catching up to do with the interviews, since, well, vacation 😅, so thanks for the quotes).
BUT.
You know what I was chewing on? Armand and… spite.
When does Armand do something out of spite.
And… I came up only with one distinct event that I, personally, would call spite, namely when he goes and has that affair with that english guy - to spite Marius.
Marius. Not yet introduced as a character, but more than hinted at. The one Daniel has also a relationship with in the books.
And here we’re back to my theory that DM did happen in the past… and that Marius wiped Daniel‘s memories.
Eric let spill recently that there might be something between Raglan and Daniel and… well on one hand… but you know if Raglan, as I also theorized, is actually Marius… then that would make a lot of sense.
DM happened in the past. Marius intervened (like he likes to do). Standing order is to leave Daniel alone (maybe). But… Daniel gets sick. They redo the interview. The “surprise“ after dinner, that never comes to pass (Louis wanting to turn Daniel for Armand?!). Louis leaving Armand with Daniel, (utterly pissed at Armand and therefore retracting his promise to turn Daniel) forcing Armand’s hand… Armand… knowing that if Daniel leaves now he will die soon.
And Armand turns Daniel - out of spite.
But not to spite Louis, or Daniel. Nor are they enemies (that‘s BS and given how Assad has talked about Loumand and what it has been on the show I do call BS here).
No, he does it to spite Marius, who wants Daniel mortal (for whatever reason). He does it IN spite of Marius‘ standing order. THAT woukd make sense to me.
And it would also explain why Armand isn’t there after… Marius might have come by for a… chat.
I know this sounds wild.
But honestly - spite? Anger?!! No. That doesn’t make any sense to me. And, I‘m sorry Assad, but I‘m side-eying your statements there after the Loumand ones. *shrugs*
So.
It sucks that we maybe won’t get the turning.
But I BET - I bet they have a good reason for that. Because it would contradict what they’re trying to establish for now.
It will be a big twist for show-only fans after all when it will be made clear why Armand turned him truly.
So. These are my thoughts, after chewing on it for a bit. Knowing Rolin likes to troll a bit obviously plays into that as well. And Hannah‘s tweet.
We‘ll see how it will hold. :)

i wanna start by saying that I LOVE YOU SO MUCH I HOPE BOTH SIDES OF YOUR PILLOW ARE COLD 24/7. Your posts are always so entertaining, informative, and motivational, everyday i'm looking forward to see them. i can literally feel the love when you talk about your dr, it makes me so excited to shift to my dr.
after reading your post about Charlie, the curiosities i had growing up came back to me. To give a bit of context, i am romanian and Charlie was always my favorite Weasley bcs he lives in my country😭 i felt so special as a kid reading the book.
I wonder if he enjoys living there? Are the romanian community of wizards different than the british ones? does the culture influence the way wizards do magic? Did Charlie had to move to Romania to work because Romania has a larger number of dragons than other countries ? If not, why? I JUST HAVE SO MANY QUESTIONS I'M SORRY😭😭
this was so sweet to read LOVE YOU TOOO <3
it is so cool that my stories are reaching audiences in romania whaaat?? I love the internet.
also, these are such cool questions, and I definitely don't know as much about Romania as Charlie does, but we do write a lot so I can try and answer what I know!! thank you for a fun ask :)
Tumblr media
to start, Charlie has always wanted to visit Romania since as long as I can honestly remember. there are many dragon sanctuaries throughout the world, but the most well known one is in a classified location in Romania. I think Charlie said it was near Borca? I have no idea--- it is somewhere near the mountains and Charlie is not allowed to say much about it, so we piece together information that he gives us in letters!
Charlie has always been fascinated by the balaur, which is a creature he was always drawing doodles of since he discovered it in a dragon book. I'M NOT KIDDING, there is a drawing of the multiple-headed dragon monstrosity hanging at the base of the stairwell in the Burrow. this guy was OBSESSED
so, when he got accepted into the dragonology institute and preservation center in Romania, it was so monumental because he quite literally has been babbling about that place since Hagrid told him about it. also, the institute is very selective in who they choose to teach and have help in this dangerous environment, so it was such an honor the our Charlie got to go.
in his letters, he enjoys the culture and environment of Romania so much! he tells me that the mythology there is so detailed and there is such an environment of magical creatures that are studied and preserved in the country. because the sanctuary Charlie works at includes a worldwide effort, he is pretty immersed in all sorts of cultures and languages, but he has made it a goal to learn Romanian --so holiday will be wild when he comes back and shows that off!!
as for the Romanian government of magic... I don't know much and we don't hear about them that often :(
but now that I've gotten this question, I will definitely pay more attention to the news etc!
I do know that the Transylvanian quidditch team is IMPECCABLE. the world league is starting soon, and it is always a big deal with that team because they do the craziest stunts MID GAME. I mostly remember this one Transylvanian chaser named Beatrix Petri, who made a whole page in the Seeker Weekly for completing such a dangerous nose dive that even critics in the audience didn't know if she would make it. SHE'S A LEGEND
about the culture--- I'd say the mythology of Romania definitely shapes the way they practice magic and the way the rest of the wizarding world views that country! we can't go more than a couple days in my magical creatures class without mentioning some mythological / theorized creature that originates in Romania. it is the coolest!
Tumblr media
hope this helped answer some of your questions!! i love love these little details from my weasley reality and I hope to one day visit Charlie in Romania (I hope!!)
also, no questions are ever too many! I love being here to answer them and it makes me feel so connected to my DR .. it is the best motivation!! <3

begging the people getting mad at the bad kids for killing the rat grinders to realize that it quite simply isn’t that deep. this is an actual play show. none of these npcs are real. we’ve had months to theorize about and form connections to these characters. but the intrepid heroes probably filmed this entire season over a matter of weeks if not just a couple of days. plus, this is dnd. combat is integral to the mechanics and just the fun of the whole experience. an episode of the intrepid heroes using all their turns to make persuasion checks on the rat grinders would’ve been excruciating and ultimately a tpk. it’s ok if you wanted to see the rat grinders be redeemed, but to genuinely expect that to happen on a dnd show where teenagers literally murder each other all the time is kinda wild ngl. (this is what fanfiction is for gang)

Thinking about Dread again.
Was going through my saved images and came across these, from the third season.
Tumblr media
My deranged beloved has become a sad little meow meow.
Tumblr media
So pensive. So frustrated. So defeated.
Tumblr media
(My favorite image of him in this scene. I love that pose, it's so natural and conveys so much about his mental and emotional state.)
I still think the way they handled his 'redemption' completely missed the mark, and could have been done much better had they planted a few seeds to begin with. But the pacing of the whole series felt so odd, and I wonder if they had something different planned before Netflix (possibly) cut their time shorter.
(For the record, I think that's part of the problem with the Knuckles series. It felt like there should have been more in that, but Paramount told them they only had 6 eps to do what they wanted in 12.)
But Dread? My beloved little gremlin of a pirate? Oh, he had so much potential. He could have been this wild card, this character who continued to be him despite everything, who was so anti-Knuckles it was entertaining and fun and just a joy to watch him have so much fun being a bastard.
I get that they couldn't keep a Knuckles as an absolute asshole, but watching this delightful character go from this
Tumblr media
To this
Tumblr media
without seeing anything in between was jarring. The last we saw of Dread before season 3 started was him fighting with Ren as Sonic and Nine took the shards away. He was enraged to have lost his Beauty. Again. We have no idea what happened after that, but this descent into depression seemed sudden and out of character.
But considering how he behaved after his first loss of the shard (when he lost his first ship and crew), maybe this isn't that much of a stretch. He ran before, jumping nose first into denial, and tried to cover his feelings of defeat by being a party pirate. Now his Beauty is lost once again, and he's in a strange city, on another planet (in another universe!) and has made himself at odds with the people there. (With his other him.) He couldn't even contact his crew because he'd turned on them before leaving.
So here's Dread, completely out of his element, the one thing he'd lusted after his entire life gone. It would figure that he'd maybe have a bit of Ren's depressive state, and fall into a "What's the point? What I want always seems to be just out of reach. I'll never have my one true desire." mindset.
And maybe, since the shards were all gone, he's feeling some kind of mental shift. I've theorized that the shard's energy was what made Dread so batshit, and now that it's gone, maybe he's starting to think a little more clearly than he'd ever done before. Instead of that drive to "FIND HAVE KEEP" that gem, he's feeling like a failure for not being able to fulfill that quest. That duty. Because maybe to him, it didn't feel like the normal greed of pirate plunder, the urge to just take and steal and collect as much booty as possible. Maybe to him, because he's a Knuckles and they're hard wired to protect, it was something more personal.
That shard, according to his instincts, was his to protect. And now that it's gone, he's a failure and feels empty. He's coming down off that energy, the inexplicable hold the shard held over him, and is essentially going through a withdrawal of sorts, and dealing with the possibly conflicting emotions it dredged up.
There was so much potential for him. And the writers wasted it, by having him simply join in on the attack on Nine without examining his (very likely) ulterior motives. I don't like that they used that Jack character to draw Dread's selfish desires back out - those should have still been there! The whole agreement to join in should have been a plot to simply get him near his Beauty so he could pull a double cross.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
This made it seem like Dread didn't even think about his Beauty during the whole battle. WHAT?? Being near it should have made him almost feral with the want to get to it. I would have loved to have seen him be another obstacle to the shard, so the heroes didn't only have to deal with Nine and his endless army of bots, but also this deranged pirate who was overcome with treasure lust.
Missed opportunity.
Ah well.
Tumblr media
Just lookit this handsome bastard.
Tumblr media
My beloved. Dread is possibly my absolutely favorite variant of Knuckles. I just love him.

Just recently found your blog and i love it!!! do have any theories for vanitas' original name? My guess is Abraham, for all it doesn't really fit him, after Abraham van hellsing, who is both a doctor and vampire expert, which I think matches mochijuns naming conventions. Doesn't hurt that it matches with Noe (noah) religiously.
Thank you!! Welcome to the party ;D
Traditionally, I've always said I don't have any strong theories on Vanitas's name—at least none that I actually expect to come true. I think(?) I've talked about this before, but that's not really the kind of theorizing I do? Since right now any name theory is wild guessing and speculation, not elaborating from the text.
That said, I do now have one pet theory that I'm partial to (one I didn't have the last time someone asked me this). I don't actually think this is going to be the case in canon, but for now, I really enjoy the concept of Vanitas's real name being Byron. This is mostly because I think it would be funny, but there are some actual connections too.
Long context short, Lord Byron wrote an unfinished draft of what would have been the first modern vampire story, and then his personal doctor (John William Polidori) took the same idea and fleshed it out into The Vampyre—the actual generally recognized first modern vampire story. But! Polidori's version of the vampire (the version that established a lot of our vampire tropes) was partly inspired by Byron himself. So Byron is sort of this almost-but-not-quite vampire author, writing but also inspiring the tropes of vampirism, which reflects interestingly on Vanitas's relationship to actual vampirism. He's not a vampire, but he's much closer to one than any other human, and in demeanor, he acts more stereotypically vampiric than Noé and many other vampire characters.
Also, Byron is the namesake of the Byronic hero, which Vanitas is a perfect example of. He's brooding, cynical, arrogant, and intelligent, but despite his gloom and self-destructiveness, he has a sort of lonely magnetism about him. Once again, the concept of the Byronic hero is inspired by/named after both Byron himself and the characters he wrote.
As I said, I don't think I'm going to be right about this, as there's a million other theories that could fit just as well, but in the meantime, the concept does tickle me. Polidori's Byron-based vampire even has an especially strong connection to the moon :D.
Anyway, I really like your theory as well. I've noted before that it's interesting that there's no Van Hellsing reference in VnC (or any direct Dracula references at all, save poor dead Mina). It's almost surprising given Dracula is the iconic vampire story. I never even considered that there could be a Dracula reference hidden right there in Vani and waiting to be discovered, but it does make sense. The doctor/vampire expert connection is really fun and fitting! Though I'm afraid I don't know enough about the biblical Abraham to say anything interesting about that aspect beyond what you pointed out there.

So little guy, where are you from? Do you live here in the city or are you visiting?
Tumblr media
LITTLE GUY: "We sleep in by the Port! It's foggy sometimes, but sometimes it's sunny! We were sleeping, but now we're awake!"
Tumblr media
LITTLE GUY: "...Mm..? We're... awake?"
Tumblr media Tumblr media
LITTLE GUY: "Hm... I dunno! I dunno!"
Tumblr media Tumblr media
KUKULKAN: "Not as much as I'd have hoped... we can talk more once we're done."
Tumblr media Tumblr media
KUKULKAN: "...Fair enough, hehe. I guess someone has to be the one to tell Rider. I'll go get the boys."
Tumblr media Tumblr media
KUKULKAN: "Oh, it's probably fine! But, just in case, we'll save it for later."
LITTLE GUY: "Bye, bye!"
They waved, wandering off down the Archives.
With that decision made, you got to the fun part. Research.
The Heavenly Divinity had been summoned as a warrior during the Lunar Grail War. One of the 129.
Tumblr media
She hadn't been summoned in this way before. An old god, in a newer form. A dragon in the form of a fox. A goddess in the form of a mortal.
Her name was T█████=M██████████.
Was. At that moment, it was.
The stories of humans had weaved together a strange tale, it seemed. But that was fine. She was quite fond of weaving, after all. Her identity was fluid, one that shifted like the water, and danced between the gates of shrines.
'Caster', her Master called her. The maiden of the Hirota Jinja Shrine, a 'Caster'. Humans had called her many names over many years, but that was a new one.
While many saw her as a Kitsune, a simple fox-spirit, this Servant was a Shinko-ō. A divine 'dragon-fox'. A daughter of the heavens. Terrifying and beautiful, she was summoned by a hopelessly hopeful master for a hopelessly hopeful cause, and fought for it with every ounce of her being.
And then, the Titan struck.
She watched as the Servants of the Moon did everything they could, and knew it wasn't enough. She had seen this Titan before. Fought this Titan before-- and knew that the boundless strength of Heroic Spirits were not enough for it. And so, as they fought, she readied herself.
The Titan could only be defeated by divinity. Divinity unchained by humanity, and free to run wild and untamed. And so, the single-tailed fox gathered power, power that she had promised to never coalesce again in another life. -
You continued reading, though it felt like you were slipping further and further into a haze.
It felt more like a conversation. Like someone was speaking to you, gently by your side. The voice, delicate and feminine, seemed to whisper in your ear.
Tumblr media
"There's something laughable about the idea of a 'lonely god'. Gods should be worshiped. Respected. Beloved. My Master held a deep contempt for humanity. He hated their contradiction, their twisted affairs, their violent nature. But he accepted it as well, knew that their violence would lead to peace. That if there was something truly terrible in the world, their differences would be set aside, and they would be saved. He could calculate, but understanding was out of his reach. And yet in his struggle, in his constant theorizing and thrashing about, he held something beautiful. A spark. A beautiful soul. Perhaps that is why I was summoned at his side. I am your goddess. I am your God. And, my beloved people of the Solar Cell, I selfishly ask of your forgiveness. Selfishly ask for your hope. Selfishly ask for your acceptance. I cannot tell you the reason, but I selfishly ask for your sacrifice as well."
-
You eventually reached a passage that held you tight. You could feel eyes on you. Burning, yet cold. Rushing water accompanied by the sound of crackling flames. Violent, yet calming. A contradiction.
Tumblr media
'Amaterasu'. 'A M A T E R A S U'?
That cannot be my True Name. Amaterasu is kind. Gentle. The warm rays of the sun, that satiate those that dance under her gaze.
I am violent.
I am powerful.
I am the Great Fox Spirit. The Konjiki Hakumen. The Lady of Purification. The Goddess of Mukoyama. A mere facet of the Sun.
I create life.
I shine with the heavenly bodies.
The Servant of Amaterasu Ōhirume no Mikoto. The wrath of Tenshō Daijin. The flesh of Sume-Ōmikami. I am her untamed nature made manifest.
The waters of the Lunar Sea bow to me as they purge the world of evil. The flames of the Solar Cell burn for me as they purge the world of fear.
The great Titan will be cast into the Lunar Sea, and all shall be well.
Such is the will of--
-
You heard snapping in front of you, knocking you out of your trance.
Tumblr media
ARCHIVIST: "I don't mind you resting your eyes, but the Archives are closing. Best to get a move on, right?"
Looking down, you realized that you had stopped reading at some point, though it was difficult to tell when. The book had been clamped shut, your smoke-like, tendrils (vaguely shaped in the form of hands) clasping it tightly.

Being Ace's Best Friend Headcanons
* Ace gives off camp counselor vibes, tbh. He'd be so much fun to travel with, especially hiking and camping or exploring a new town! First of all, when camping, he has all the stories you could want! Funny stories, action packed ones, scary ones. He can do shadow puppets! He'll take a bite right out of your snacks though so watch out for that.
* constantly dares you to do stuff like tarzan swing across a river or touch a wild animal. He's all like, "cmon it'll be fun!" He is Luffy's brother after all.
* Shows you how to find different constellations and navigate using the north star ✨🥺
* Asks your opinion during missions and takes is seriously, even if your younger or newer to the crew, he hears you out. "Which path do you think we should take?" "Do you think we can take them?" He wants you to have a voice.
* You two balance each other out. I imagine you probably have a sarcastic and dry sense of humor that contrasts Ace's sincerity and he thinks your hilarious.
* If you get injured he. will. carry. you. on. his. back. if. need. be.
* Best way to describe Ace as a friend-- he's the sort of friend who will split an oreo and give you the cream side 🥺
* Late at night if your awake and find him you sneak into the kitchen (or the fire pit if your camped out) and make late night ramen and theorize about aliens and stuff.
Being Sanji's Best Friend Headcanons
* Seeing as all the straw hats have jobs on the ship I imagine your the "chores/cleaning person" of the ship so you often help Sanji wash dishes and go on grocery trips with him. What does this mean? It means you've played would you rather so much that you've asked every possible question. Grocery trips are a lot of fun though and Sanji tells you a lot about different fish and fruits, etc.
* Sanji gives great advice and he does not get enough credit for it. Personal advice? Great. Dietary advice? Great. Fashion advice? Also great.
* But in all seriousness, Sanji is a great listener. He's not really judgmental either, he's super open minded.
* His secret talent is that he can wrangle trapped soda cans from vending machines. He makes you promise not to tell Luffy.
* He's secretly your biggest cheerleader?? When you become stronger or accomplish a goal or defeat someone he's so proud of you?? But he normally just plays it cool and says smth like "nice one" or pats your head if your younger than him.
* Sanji uses you as his guinea pig for testing new recipes. You love eating tasty food though, so win win.
* You guys definitely play chopsticks when your bored. Sanji just gives off that vibe.
* I can't stop imagining the reader gifting Sanji a Polaroid camera at some point and Sanji then becoming that mom friend who photographs all the straw hats moments? I bet he even keeps them in a notebook? Or am I just projecting?
Hi! Oh my goodness, these are amazing! I'll be working on the headcanons for the characters your requested later today. Awesome thoughts, they all feel so in character!

dev camp 2024!
it's the most wonderful time of the year! they ran the same practice twice with two different groups this morning, which was nice because i only had to figure the drills out once. first group featured david goyette, tyson jugnauth, ty nelson, and eduard sale; second group featured berkly catton, jagger firkus, carson rehkopf, and lukas dragicevic. observations:
each group had three goalies but visa vedenpaa was in both, maybe because he is the best. his pads say CLIQUE really big which made me think of that photo from last year with all our blonde goalies.
ty nelson is clearly a leader in this group, he's talking to everyone and the coaches relied on him to go first in drills.
one advantage of the double practice is i got to focus on the defense group first when ty nelson was on the ice, and then the forwards in the second practice when berkly catton was there. they mysteriously put one forward with each defense group even though it was clearly a defense-specific drill (catch a puck up the wall, take two shots from the blueline, then switch and defend in front of the net). wonder if that means jakub fibigr and caden price are swiss army knives, or did they just draw the short straws this morning?
tyson jugnauth looked better than last year but i still don't think he has an nhl future. other standouts in the first group included goyette and lleyton roed.
we invited an enormous swedish d-man named VIKING GUSTAFFSON who plays at northern michigan. i love him already and i hope we get to keep him.
carson rehkopf hit the ice with the biggest smile on his face and it made me love him. he and jagger firkus looked good together.
jagger firkus filling the net up like it's a bucket. so many good shots.
new boy berkly catton was clearly very nervous to start. he messed up the first drill and lost a few pucks before he settled in. his skating is absolutely gorgeous to watch, great edges and cutbacks. he also had a couple very slick takeaways.
the forward-specific drill started with two players in the slot who had to race for a puck at the boards and try to pass it to a teammate down the wall, and it was such a great way to see who's got jump and who can win a board battle and who can make a pass under pressure. especially notable was berkly catton (5'11, 167, skill guy) decisively winning the board battle over our guy from everett julius miettinen (6'3, 201, netfront presence).
dragicevic seems kind of wild, in a fun way. there were a couple of times when he was more physical than the drills maybe called for. he's super fun to watch, and he also had the prettiest goal in the shootout.
after the second session, berkly catton and jagger firkus stayed out setting up tip shots for each other. i am theorizing that there's a little whl clique going on and jagger is the queen bee.
i am sad that we invited berkly's friend clarke caswell to camp but he did not skate!

So I've got this kinda wild headcanon that the captain and crew of the captured French ship in 2x05 recognized Frenchie from somewhere, perhaps his time in service.
If you take a close look, all their eyes go to him. The captain especially looks like he has a moment of recognition before quickly averting his eyes. It's a "blink and you'll miss it" moment.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Since we know so little of Frenchie's backstory, it's fun to theorize!
(Of course, it could also just be the crew recognizing he looks really hot when he's tying people up 👀)

Expanding on my MLP next gen AU "shipping is magic" except i let too many ideas marinate in my head at once and now my wrist hurts from drawing so much :)
BASES USED:
X / X / X / X / X / X / X / X / X / X / X / X / X / X / X / X
I would say "ships and lore under the cut" but tumblr ALWAYS likes to fuck up my post layout whenever i post SPECIFICALLY MLP base art for some reason soooo.......idk
As some of you may know: i included fluttershy x tree hugger into my next gen but recently i've decided that in this AU: fluttershy is actually now in a polycule with tree hugger and quarter hearts (that one background pony that looks like link from the legend of zelda) because i saw it be included in one of dragonairlover (or SodaSurfer97, depending on where you follow it)'s old youtube videos back when it did next gen requests for people as part of someone's next gen and i really liked that idea so i included the ship in mine, the mostly-yellow pony with the triforce necklace is named canary crescent (he/him) and he's the son of all three (biologically, i mean) while the blue-haired pony next to him is named navi (she/her) and she's just flutter and quarter's kid. Obviously, navi is based on navi the fairy from the actual zelda games though i wanna say that she's got some inspiration from the blue fairy from pinocchio as well
The next five are gonna take a while to explain....so y'know how i had two lunacord kids already? Well....i decided to expand it into 7 and base them all on the 7 deadly sins because i thought it'd be cool (the ones i already made represent pride and sloth now), the pink one represents lust and is named "after dark" (she/her), the red one represents wrath and is named "wild side" (which TOTALLY isn't because i had the beastars opening theme which coincidentally is also titled "wild side" stuck in my head while drawing, what are you even TALKING about!??!?....anyway, she/her) The purple one represents greed and is named "hypebeast bling" (god, remember when hypebeasts were a thing? He/him) the brown one represents gluttony and is named "midnight snack" (they/he) and lastly the blue one represents envy and is named cendrillon (who TOTALLY isn't named after the vocaloid song AT ALLLL!!!!!! She/her) cendrillon wants to be like her older siblings, thus why she's envy
These next ones: well....idk how many people know of this nowadays, but when the episode "baby cakes" first came out, people theorized that rarity ALSO had a baby in that episode alongside mrs cake because in the opening scene: she was seen looking at a baby with a VERY similar color palette to her. I actually really like that theory so i decided to incorporate that into my next gen, with rarity having a kid with stony pony before eventually getting with braeburn and having rosemary and having to give the kid up for adoption because she couldn't take care of her (and also because stony's a fucking deadbeat lmao) ......so yeah, i named her heloise (she/her) and she's very spiritual and cool......probably has an AWESOME crystal collection. The blue pony next to her is named "birthday cake" and she's pound and pumpkin cake's younger sister. Lastly there's prince corium, chrysalis and tirek's 14-year-old son. I imagine that he's not really evil in the same way his parents are, but he's moreso an edgy fuck who thinks saying slurs and making fun of furries is peak comedy....also he has some SERIOUS beef with pastel dream (my flashlight kid from another post)
Moving onto equestria girls, i didn't want it to JUST be the next gen from the pony universe but just in the EG universe so i decided to be a little creative. So for EG's mane 5 we have rarity and applejack's identical twin daughters praline punch (who's a graphiti artist and is into amekaji) and frou-frou (who's super ditzy and into hime gyaru), fluttershy and bulk biceps' daughter sunny sunflower, sci-twi and sunset shimmer's daughter pasadena (who has a crush on sunny and TOTALLY isn't named after pasadena from crash bandicoot I SWEAR!!!!) And flash sentry and timber spruce's daughter happy camper (who is a trans girl, but is still a lil early into her transition and she's into cryptozoology)

Your speculation on how Elain's voice (the inner thoughts in her POV) could be presented? Would it be more romantic? Witty? Sarcastic? Dreamy? or more observant and perceptive? A mix of all? or maybe more internal (like intuned to her emotions)?
Also for all the theories about Guilty as Sin, I think SJM just likes the song. It doesn't necessarily have to be about the books. I suppose we can all have fun theorizing about anything.
Regarding her post.
I think it is most likely that Sarah loving that song has nothing to do with Elucien or E/riel.
Do I think she felt moved by it? That it made her get in her feels? Definitely!
Do I think it could have given her some sort of inspiration as a writer? Sure! We have no idea what headspace she's in right now, we have no idea what she's writing right now. The song, while possibly about emotional cheating, is also about longing and her MMCs usually experience that. Maybe she's even writing a book set in the past and the song gave her inspiration for the LoA and Helion before they had the affair that resulted in Lucien.
However, Sarah says that she always has music on while she's writing so I do understand why everyone is trying to play detective. She chose her main platform for communication with her fans to create a post about a specific song and her author's website says "follow me for updates on IG". Considering she doesn't often post, when she does people are going to look for clues. When she herself has said she leaves all sorts of crumbs and easter eggs in her books and we all know she's a Swiftie (who also leaves easter eggs), it's not farfetched to think, "maybe that's what she's now doing on her IG!"
I do think people are being a little harsh towards others who are debating the possibility of clues.  It's not like all sides of the ship wars haven't read into her posts. I remember when she released a HOFAS excerpt, people were claiming that because she shared one with Nesta and Az it was further proof that she wants the focus to now be on Az but Nesta ended up being more heavily featured in the crossover.  Or how all sides of the ship war were using her last post of being in the mountains as evidence of who was getting the next book.
I think the theories / debates are fun and people should not be ridiculed for creating posts. We have literally nothing else to go on these days and in an an attempt to not recycle the same excerpts from the books over and over, even seemingly random IG posts can inject a little life (no matter how ridiculous) into our pages.
With that said, it's a little wild to claim her posts are confirmation of anything. While theories / debates are fun, acting superior and claiming the other side is crying because "her post proves E/riel endgame!" is taking it too far. Claiming that because she liked the song it's absolute proof of who is getting the next book is a stretch because, while we can theorize that maybe it does mean something, it could also still mean a hundred other things or absolutely nothing at all.
As far as Elain, I think she actually has a thoughtful / observant inner voice with a sarcastic edge.
A 75/25 ratio. Where she'll sit there thinking things that are insightful and observant then throw in a zinger from time to time to the point that it sneaks up on you. A lot like Lucien in ACOWAR, where he was going on and on about how well decorated the HOW was then throws out "Rhys was a good many things, but he certainly had good taste". Or when he was thinking on how he just wanted to read, thinking back on Jesminda, offered Elain tea then called Nesta a viper.
But where I think Lucien's inner thoughts are tinged with a bit of heaviness and sadness, I think Elain's will be slightly more optimistic.
I think Lucien pushes forward and carries on, he remains fair and polite, but there's a lot of guilt and hopelessness lying just under the surface.
With Elain, I think she leans more towards the positive. That's not to say she doesn't struggle with things too but I think despite that, she continues believing that things will work out, that things will be ok.
There's a reason SJM said Nesta and Lucien would cause one another more damage but that Elain was someone both she and Lucien didn't see coming. I think it's Elain's inner strength, that ability to remain positive, loving and kind that is going to be the central theme of their story. There is a lot of discord in certain relationships right now. Between Lucien and Tamlin, Lucien and the people of Spring, Lucien and the people of Autumn, Lucien and Eris, Az and Lucien, the sisters at times, Lucien and Feyre / Nesta at times, the IC and Tamlin, and there has not been a character to help rebuild those bridges yet. I do think it will be Elain's inner light and loving nature that will be a catalyst for many of these relationships beginning to repair themselves.
I hope you have a fun weekend!!!
