The way Jamie IMMEDIATELY went away from Roy, afraid to get punched for his efforts. Then Roy raising his hands to show that Jamie has nothing to be afraid of. My goodness, that hurt.

Are we sure this isn't a fanfic? Roy sitting there like a scarecrow without moving his legs. C'mon, dude, it's so easy and way less painful that falling from the bike. Also, the fact that they're ALONE on the street. This definitely gives me so many thoughts and things to happen.

See above, though I am way fonder of writing horror than reading it. I am also somehow even more allergic to romance as a writer, however.

Are you a planner or a write-as-i-go kind of person?

Write as I go, because I find planning makes me bored of a story.

What music do you listen to while writing the story?

I love musicals and/or vocaloid! I tend to loop a single song for one shorter story, or a playlist for longer ones.

I've always had a soft spot for the Alex Verus series, as well as Spinning Silver and the Chanur Saga by CJ Cherryh.

I am very firmly not thinking about anything except my novel (but cultist WIP my beloved :'))

Definitely my debate fit. It's the only thing I wear regularly, and it's a ruffled top, knee length skirt, and boot heels. I love it so much hehe

She was a young woman, tall and willowy, with hair dyed purple-red. Her left hand bore a recovering burn scar, unobscured by the mass of rings she wore. She had glasses perched on the tip of the nose, one lens thicker than the other, and a lopsided smile to match. When she spoke, her words tumbled out of her mouth like they were racing one another, and she listened like a hawk, head cocked to a side.

In case you haven't noticed, I spend far too much time observing myself.

Do you like incorporating people you actually know into your writing?

Not at all haha. Too many people I know read my writing, and I'm not risking any of them recognising themselves.

Are you kill-happy with the characters?

Yes and no? All people die, and when one's writing spans as great a time as mine does, it's only natural for everyone to die. But I don't do it onscreen that often.

Coffee or Tea while writing?

Water, cos I'm a hydro-homie :D

Slow or Fast writer?

I have no idea what fast is considered, but I write anywhere from 500-5k words a day.

Where/who/what do you find inspiration from?

Real life. I see something interesting and onto the paper it goes, along with far too much dramatisation.

If you were put into a fantasy world, what would you be?

If you dumped me in a fantasy world, I'd probably gravitate towards being a villain, or at least the protag's rival. More often than not I can't stand the heroes of the books I read, and I honestly tend to root for the villains in any book I read. That's probably why I almost always write villain protags haha

Most fave book cliche?

I'm rather fond of twist villains. I don't know why, it's just so fun to watch them drop the mask, especially if done well.

Least fave book cliche?

Not a cliche per se, but "We had to lie to you to protect you". If someone did that to me, I would never forgive them. Especially when the person in question is lying about their identity. I hate that trope so much I wrote Heroes as a complaint against it. I fully support Mara's wrongs and if I had been in her place I would have tried to poison the cake too.

Fave scenes to write?

Gore!!!!! Blood!!! Torture!!!!

Most productive time of day for writing?

While on the go, I guess. Walking is my personal fav, though it's pretty unsafe.

Reason for writing?

Because the stupid thoughts in my head keep bugging me >:(

Hello! I've played The House in Fata Morgana after seeing your review of it a while ago and I loved it, so thank you for introducing me to one of my favorite games. ❤ But now I'm wondering if you have other good visual novel recommendations of any genre. Just the titles would be enough, I just want to have an idea where to start looking since I'm pretty new to it and there are so many. Thanks! :]

Ohhh yes there are so many and so different kind, like VN with some gameplay or VN with only few interactions or even otome which are focused on romancing characters. And I mostly played this type so I can rec a lot of those x'D

If you look for adventure type with gameplay, I would definitely recommend you games like Ace Attorney saga or Danganronpa saga or even Zero Escape saga that are my faves of the genre :))

If you look like more cosy visual novel, you can go with Our Life: Beginnings & Always (that is actually one of my big fav ever, SO HEARTWARMING!!!), Coffee Talk or Harmony: The Fall of Reverie that are pretty nice!

If you prefer otomes with different romancing routes, you can try the Psychedelica games (Black Butterfly first, then Ashen Hawk), or Taisho x Alice, or also Even if Tempest. All of those have such amazing stories and don't focus only on the romance, there are such amazing otomes!! and if you like homosexual romance, go with Dramatical Murder <3 big crush on this one >v<

If you rather have more something like Fata Morgana with mostly text to read, I haven't played it myself yet but I heard A LOT of good things about it, I think it's safe to go with Umineko When They Cry. Like it's considered for a lot like their best VN like Fata Morgana so yeah, I'm pretty sure I rec you something good here xDD and I want to play it too actually.

If you want, I actually have a ranked list of all the visual novels I've played so far (there are 56 in it), this way you can find titles I loved the most and the least ;) I commented in french though, sorry, but maybe seeing the titles and checking on them could give you some ideas <3

i have been told by… a lot of people… that i'm a good listener.

friendliness. i highly enjoy being around people, even though i know i'm not going to be close with the vast majority of them. i'm just a social person by nature.

wisdom. i don't sound like it because i never have the chance to be? i also deliberately type like i normally do to make people feel comfy around me, so that doesn't help either lol. still, i enjoy being The Grandpa when i end up in communities with much younger people for this reason.

creativity. to the point where i literally can't enjoy media without taking inspiration and going right to my own projects and ocs/stories. it's a hassle struggling to absorb canon when i constantly have to muffle what i want to do to make sure i can pay attention RIP.

🧶 — any non-writing hobbies/interests?

lol there's a lot.

when it comes to free time… i primarily love mmorpgs, but i just don't stick to them with how much there is to do - never feels like i'm going to get anywhere and it's just overwhelming. i did do ffxiv, guild wars 2, blade and soul, aura kingdom/twin saga and had been pretty far in with all of them, but they just ultimately didn't scratch the itches i needed.

however atm, PSO2 NGS (phantasy star online 2, new genesis) is kind of my dream mmo? it's a new game, f2p is 100% viable, combat is really fun and feels really natural on ps4, i have a cute and outrageously beefy/OP level 19 character and solo everything, nothing is super hard to understand, perfect game for casuals like me who just play 1-2 hours in the morning and slowly chip away at the story/game. it's just basically everything i want in an mmorpg so i'm always just happy playing it.

shout-out to pokemon sword, rune factory 4, digimon story cybersleuth. old fav games are okami, pokemon emerald/oras and ultra moon, star ocean 3, .hack//GU, dark cloud 1+2. there's some i forgot by now but still.

then there's also making ocs and art. i am so so bad at fanart (hence why i stopped) but i did really well with drawing ocs back when i was still comfortable drawing. (designing weird monsters was a huge fav and i'd probably still be able to do it but don't have the desire/opportunity anymore so! and anthros/furries were super fun to draw! help! i drew too much!)

i'm also neglecting learning music production and japanese but they have been on my peripheral for 10+ years so someday i will actually do them. (neither will be very difficult for experience reasons but what is self-starting lol.)

i've never been too big on reading anime and manga so i tended to float toward jp games instead. but… i still have a hard time getting into something new so. lol.

fashion too. love making outfits. i used to be big into lolita fashion, visual kei, pastel goth. i still have so much punk stuff too lmao. pinterest is a hellhole to try and stop browsing if you like fashion/clothes in general.

generally, all the hobbies require effort that i don't necessarily have the energy or attention span to give, so it usually just ends up with talking to people, scrolling tumblr or twitter or reddit etc, listening to j-music.

fluff, hurt/comfort, weird plots that go really wild and meta, very short-term depressing/tragic thoughts, ships. i do like writing nsfw too, but definitely not here.

honestly? everything longterm. i tend to forget where plots are going, which is why i'm not great with RP plots or keeping track of hc characterization. i just don't have enough attention span to take notes or reread every rp ever BUT-- when i have an active/dedicated partner, i can keep rolling with something for a long AF time. (thank you in specific, neochan!)

serious answer is long sad/angsty plots. i just don't do that well with them unless i get in the mood, but i don't really want to be sad, so it's just not usually my thing if it's not just a thread or two.

there is also that long posts are pretty taxing too, but there's not much i can do about that because lol i just innately write with the intention of going back and rewriting. rip!

Who Are My Comfort Characters? A Comfort Character Analysis

Hello dwarflings (and wandering travellers)! I came across a really interesting article about comfort characters, and the importance of them to people by Jared DeLaTorre on Medium.com. I will reference the link at the end of this post, same with another article explaining the term 'Ludo narrative harmony' that was in DeLaTorre's article. This has lead be to do a casual research report on it, and talk about my own comfort characters as well. Enjoy :)

One of the first thing DeLaTorre begins with is defining the term concept of a comfort character; 'A character... from a TV show, game, book etc makes you feel safe and happy when upset, down etc'. He also speaks of the misinterpretation and misuse of the concept to shallowly sexualise characters if they are deemed attractive. I would like to add something I thought of while reading this section (feel free to disagree) but there is also a confusion, to an extent, between favourite and comfort characters. Yes, your comfort character may be your favourite character, but there is a blurred separation between the two. This is shown with my own favourite/comfort characters in the Venn diagram below.

To give a further explanation: my favourite character in the whole wide world is Tom Hiddleston's Loki, who I love so much, but he is by far a comfort character for me. Then there are characters that are both my favs and my comforts e.g. Svik from the Bloodsworn saga. He is my favourite character in the books, but as he is a comic relief character (who loves cheese which is a bonus) I find a form of safety within his humour. Then there are characters that I like, but not my favourites, who are my comfort characters, one being Faramir from LOTR. This leads me onto the next section of DeLaTorre's article; why does someone have a comfort character?

DeLaTorre gives his own possible reasons as to why, some being the evident feeling grounded/somewhat stable when their reality is going to shit. Other possible reasons are the reader/viewer finds solace in a fictional character as they relate to them, or the character empowers the individual to become like them/better themselves. Obviously, not all comfort characters fit in one box, but overlap into another. I tried with another Venn diagram to visually convey this with my comfort characters.

This was quite hard to think about as even though I know these are my comfort characters, I did not know why exactly. Doing this diagram came useful as it highlighted the main reason I form a bond with a character - they give me a sense of stability and distraction from my day-to-day life. Interestingly, I did not think that Eowyn would be in all the categories. I think this could be a I relate to her being a woman who it always trying her best to prove herself worthy, which in tern empowers me to not stop being myself and to be defiant to societal expectations. I have stability with her as if I was in Middle-Earth, she would be one of my best friends definitely.

usually i do try to let it slide, like, once in a while it's whatever, but it's just been constant lately it's leaving a bad taste in my mouth that doesn't have the time to fade away before more is added to it yaknow

on the orchestra page it's frustrating to me in a special way because it totally blindsided me. the charas so far had a thematic going on for it, and straying from this thematic for the most blatant case of fanservice just leaves me bitter. Esp since Galleon is hyper-used for the sexualization (again she's one of the only 3 characters with a body pillow after all).

Like, if at least we had finished the anni charas first before that, i could have imagined "and now we're focusing on important franchise" and would have accepted it, but like. idk man. Fennie was right here, Sabrina if they wanted someone who could be sexy, and like. the Society snob is even more unforgiveable to me if we're just moving to popular saga while ignoring the popular saga which has an anni event yaknow? (like i'm not even big on the Society but this feels so??? out of place to me??? i was holding on to Cassius or Yatima at the Piano, re: Clair de Lune, but too much for themes i guess.). (like it may still happen!!! but wasted timing)

Or the fact two of the go two characters for those two events are little girls make it harder to sexualize. woopsies. If you chose Cosmos instead of Yuni maybe this wouldn't have been the problem. (not like i personally want it i love Yuni there, it's about the logic that seems to be going on))

and the summer charas still frustrate me so damn much. esp on chara like Magus and Horus who's designs aren't that different than their base sprites, except for just some inches of clothes removed lmaoooo what a joke. at least Tefnut got a new art? but the problem is still there.

and well, i'm mostly thanking it in a small voice because again i'm at a point of purely saturating, and as i play as Djeeta i think i would have seen Naru's scene without knowing Seofon's scene also existed, i would just have rage quited the game. The fact it's equal service fanservice barely salvages it to me.

(for all i talk about Seofon bc i encourage ppl on here and the inbox is down bad he's.... still not one of my favorite character nor someone i'd like to think of in this situation, but tbh i wouldn't have wanted to see any of my favs in this situation at all. maybe little ace things i guess. The only chara that could have made me let it slide would be Belial because at least it's on brand.)

so yeah no i'm just tired because it feels like hit after hit and i don't even have the time to forget about the previous hit, so it hurts double now and it is genuinely tiring me.

i'm trying not to let it bother me nor cloud my vision because i do love gbf so dearly so, but it's been trying my patience for sure.

“Hide the drums (there’s fire in the sky)” latest installment of the Magical Marriage Ribbons-Verse, the Untamed Mega Saga, for which the author starandrea has been posting a chapter every day since May 31st 2020, so 805 consecutive days as of now without missing ONE. It boggles the mind. (I’ve started reading when the verse was ... oh I think about three parts in, I haven’t missed one too since then)

Last song: “The Greatest Show on Earth” - Nightwish, it’s my soundtrack for my daily yoga practice (no I am in fact not joking), so it doesn’t really count last leisure listening was the soundtrack of ‘Robin Hood - Das Musical’

Last series: Ooofff... ok, so many balls in the air at the same time. I’m watching “The Sandman” of course, as you do and loving it. Also “Extraordinary Attorney Woo” which is THE MOST(tm). Recently finished my rewatch and catch-up of “Manifest” and rewatched a couple of episodes of The Devil Judge with a friend who just started and that I got into it, remembering why I can’t be normal about those boys (and how delightful it is to rewatch with someone experiencing sth for the first time). Of course went down the magnificent and batshit crazy rabbithole that is Kinnporsche. Also, “Tomorrow” which is definitely my fav K-Drama of 2022.

Last movie: Day Shift - Fun and a nice remix of vampire tropes that you don’t really see on top of each other a lot. But it felt more like a set up to a movie trilogy I don’t know if it’s made enough impact into getting, so the premise might have been served better as a mini series? ...The Gray Man, which was solid and enjoyable and absolutely bonkers with how hilarious it was to watch Chris Evans have a ton of fun playing straight up, no holds barred, unredeemable villian. Ryan Gosling can stay... Ana de Armas is queen bee.

Currently working on: My last day of vacation :sob: and of course my WIP/plot bunnie enclosure excel spreadsheet (yes, I do not do things by half until I halfass writing them). Anyway, actual words or plotty thinky thoughts were put into:

- The Devil Judge a/b/o PWP (that has, so far, about 5k of set up and no porn) with a Jung Sunah made them do it scenario and non-traditional dynamics (yeah, idek...)

- Vincenzo Inception fusion - Jang Han Seo wakes up from getting shot to a curious set up of sleeping people around him (really really wanna write this one but the premise is so vast I’m afraid of flaming out again)

- three separate 9-1-1 Buddie fics of varying size and scope that reaches from one’s in love the other isn’t and confessions make things complicated (or do they), the fall out from the truck bombing goes the other way for Buck & the “Eddie deals with his 5B-issues by discovering shibari”!AU (do NOT try this at home-therapy)

last song: oh this definitely carbon dates me, but insomniatic by aly and aj. the whole album is great, but the title song just hits a spot no other song does.

last movie: the twilight saga: eclipse LMAO. i am in the middle of a rewatch which i frankly need at least once a year to hard reset my brain. love the funky little vampire movies. (also i don’t think it… requires a link lol)

Over-wordy explanations/backstory for my relationship to each of these teams below the cut for those interested!

Montreal Canadiens. My dearly beloved Nana, who half-raised me, is a lifelong diehard Habs fan who grew up listening to their games on the radio and then later as an adult watching them duel with the Leafs on Saturday nights on a black-and-white tv (also a BIG Carey Price stan). Needless to say she rubbed off on me immensely, and I remember saying to myself at some point “well, if that’s Nana’s team, that’s gonna be my team too” and it stuck for life. I also had a friend in middle school who was a RELIGIOUS Habs fan who also worshipped at the altar of Jesus Price in those early 2010’s, so I heard a LOT about all of that every lunch break as he argued with friends who were Pens and Bruins fans lol. We went on the Bell Centre tour during the annual 9th grade French class trip to Quebec, and while I was mostly focused on getting to the gift shop to buy Nana a souvenir, I swear my friend’s eyes were the size of quarters the whole time lmao. (Would LOVE to go back now that I care a lot). Basically the Habs are the closest thing to a local NHL team our region has bc we get their broadcasts (though people choose their own team allegiances for various random personal reasons), and I grew up absorbing through osmosis both the legends of yore and the latest updates on whatever Carey and PK and the lads were up to. (Also I’ve been quietly in love with Price myself since at least the 2014 Olympics lol. My first best fav ❤️) Bottom line the Habs are My Team, the “I’m gonna be here even when it sucks, even when players move on, this is attached to me in a way I can’t quite explain” team that every hockey fan has in their heart. GO HABS GO!

Pittsburgh Penguins. If you were an elementary school kid in Nova Scotia when Sidney Crosby was first released and up through the 2010’s, you had two options: love him, or hate him, but you better accept you’re gonna be hearing about him a LOT. I settled on “vague fondness” and followed Sid from a newspaper-scanning distance and vaguely rooted for him because when he brought the Cup home it felt like we all won. And like I said, lots of passionate Pens fans in my grade school classes to hear from (he’s also the only non-Habs player my Nana likes lol). Then I got into hockey properly last year and learned about Geno beyond just knowing his name, and my chronic affection for large loveable Russians got combined with my longstanding vague “I hope the Penguins win” feelings and my “time to get the full story on the Sidney Crosby’s Penguins narrative I only ever watched from a distance” research, in a manner not unlike the creation of the PowerPuff Girls ([chemical X] etc etc lol) to create a potent adoration for this team that rocketed them to second place in my heart. Also the fandom is just so damn fun and makes such great content, and that definitely feeds my level of engagement with the Pens!! Sometimes, when I want an emotional pick-me-up I watch one of their last 3 championship films just to remember what joy and optimism is — I would love to be present as a real-time fan for another adventure like that. With how much I know about them and how much I care, they’re my #2 for sure. I love those flightless fucks!!

Vancouver Canucks. So I started watching live NHL hockey games last summer around I think game 2 of the Habs’ first round series against the Flyers (I saw Price’s “Miracle Save” on twitter while following along bc I was intrigued by the fact that they made it through the play-ins, and was like “OKAY NOW I GOTTA SEE THIS SHIT LIVE”). That was really fun! Riiiight up until the Habs got eliminated. :/ And I was like “well, shit. I’m enjoying this hockey thing too much to stop now. who else is still around I can root for?” And the Canucks were the last Canadian team still in it, and there was buzz about their miraculous first-round win but also uncertainty I believe Markstrom had *just* got injured. So I started watching, ended up witnessing the Bubble Demko Miracle unfold live, had my heart charmed off me by “whatever the hell those two lil blonde bitches have going on” and a delightful underdog story, and here I am. Hitched to the Canuck wagon whether I enjoy it or not. Here for whatever happens! (Doesn’t hurt that I love me some Elton John too 😉)

Washington Capitals. I’m a person who is more likely to be really engaged with a team that has super interesting personalities, characters, and narratives around it — and my GOD are the Capitals good for that. I absolutely definitely started down this road with that mic’d up video from the 2018 final of Ovi telling Nicke “after me, I give it to you baby!” re: the Cup. Like I can pinpoint that there was a day I saw that for the first time in a gifset, squinted at the screen, said “you’re fucking with me...”, went to youtube, watched it be for reals, and was like “well. now I need to know more about ALL this.” After watching games and learning more about the team, I really enjoy the Caps’ “big dumb found family of stone-cold total weirdos” energy, their fun collective chemistry, their Cup story, etc. And oh BOY the fandom is fun during game lb’s! I love all the in-jokes and player nicknames, our delight with the quirks of our colourful wonderful broadcast crew (shoutout Wine Uncles & Co), the way we cheer for record-breaking milestones like they’re a first NHL goal! Being a fan of the Caps AND the Pens can be a bit awkward sometimes, and the team certainly has its blemishes, but my heart is big enough for two Metro teams for sure, and I wouldn’t have it any other way.

Toronto Maple Leafs. So like, as you can imagine from my previously described upbringing in Hab Land, “haha Leafs suck” is a punchline I have long been familiar with and trained to recite. I got a solid 3 days of laughter and entertainment out of the whole Zamboni Driver Saga last February, oh boy did I ever. But the thing is.... I have the Leafs to thank for the fact that I watch hockey now. See, the entire reason I started paying proper attention to the playoff bubble last summer was because one day, I happened to see the phrase “WHAT IS HAPPENING” trending at 16k tweets on twitter, and clicked on it like “huh?”. Turns out the Leafs were in the middle of their miraculous 3-minute comeback against Columbus and the country was losing its mind. And when they won, I was like “huh... the Zamboni Team is doing THIS??? I may have to start paying attention to this playoffs thing, because if they go All The Way I think that might be the only thing funnier than the Zamboni Incident”. Aaaaand when they immediately lost the next game and were eliminated I was like “lol, sounds about right” and was then immediately distracted by news of the Habs winning the play-in round. So then I spent several months watching playoffs and forgetting about the Leafs. And then one day in early October, looking on YouTube for more hockey to watch after the playoffs ended, I stumbled across something called a Hat Pick, and boy I actually enjoyed this shouty man’s sense of humour and takes on the game... and then when I ran out of Hat Picks and Dangits I watched some Trade Trees, which pulled back the curtain on the business side of the game... and then I discovered LFR’s, which were good background noise for doing tasks... and then I was recommended the episode of the Steve Dangle Podcast about Mitch Marner and The List... and next thing I knew I was listening to more of this podcast, because I found Steve and the guys to be insightful and funny and there was no hockey to watch, and I was trepidatious about accidentally stumbling into the more toxic corners of hockey fandom if I branched out for other content... and, well. If you spend enough hours listening to people passionately analyze every facet of a team, shout and cheer over a team, make fun of that team, nearly cry over that team... it’s really REALLY hard to not start to care about it. Leafs analysis was basically how I learned most of what I’ve learned about hockey this past year! And kudos to Steve and Adam and Jesse, their passionate investment in the Leafs and great content has got ME invested in the Leafs mainly because I want to see things go well for them. I want Charlie Brown to kick the football! I love a triumph over adversity story! Also, I think if the Leafs did Do The Thing it would basically be the combination of “Cubs win the World Series” and “Raptors are the champs” and I wanna watch the city of Toronto go fully apeshit from a safe distance. I don’t adore many their individual players as much as I do some other teams higher on this list, and I still laugh far too much when things go super comically impossibly badly for them, but I am actually pulling for the Leafs!! I want to see it all pay off for them. I want them to go all the way. Gimme that “LEAFS WIN!!!” (Unless it’s against someone above them on this list lol)

Odd Observation: All of the territory users in YYH are men.

I sat here for 5 minutes trying to think of just ONE territory user who isn’t a cis man (as far as we know, anyway) and the only one I can think of is Sniper’s sister (who may have just been plain ol’ psychic; it’s not clear). But she was onscreen/on the page for all of 30 seconds in the anime and like two panels in the manga, so she hardly counts even IF she’s a territory user.

I love YYH, but women (let alone nonbinary folks) are just plain underused in canon. I get that’s it’s shonen and cis-male dominance comes with the territory, but out of all the Sensui Seven’s territory users, not a single one could’ve been a woman? Not one? NOT ONE? And again, that’s saying absolutely nothing of nonbinary characters.

But that’s not the only thing I take issue with in terms of gender disparity.

I adore YYH for its lack of boob-jiggle-physics and relative lack of fanservice compared to other shonen titles. It’s probably why I’m able to love this shonen anime series so much; I get totally alienated by fanservice. I fucking couldn’t stand Fire Force after it promised a badass woman who then promptly became the butt of gross sex gags (not to mention the Damsel in Distress every other episode). But great as YYH is, it still has a pretty big gender problem that becomes harder and harder to ignore the deeper I dig into canon. 

Like, I love Mukuro, don’t get me wrong, but it’s... interesting (*side-eye*)... that the only woman of plot importance in the entire Three Kings Saga is a victim of child sex trafficking. She’s definitely a character with depth, but using sexual abuse as a plot device to give women depth is both gross AND overdone, not to mention cliché given how often it’s used as a (poor) development device for female characters.

Togashi in an interview said Keiko was his most hated character because she was a cliché, but you can’t really blame HER for that quality. Togashi’s the one who apparently can’t write women well enough to avoid making them into cliches, after all. People like to throw that quote around to justify disliking Keiko as a character, but few ever seem to point out that HE is responsible for her development, instead acting like she’s somehow sentient enough to be responsible for her own development and therefore personally deserving of hate. I wish that when Togashi bashed her, he’d thought to qualify his dislike of her with the point that he was to blame for her lack of growth.

99% of the time I look at YYH with extreme Nostalgia Goggles that keep me from truly engaging with the source material in a critical way, but tonight I don’t have the energy to refrain. I guess half the point of writing LC is that I can use it to fix some of the (relatively few!) issues I take with the YYH universe as a whole, but honestly I’m kind of getting tired of realizing My Fav is Hella Problematic.

I skip the episode with Miyuki at this point. I can’t stomach it at all. It’s a huge albatross around the neck of my love for this show.

It’s gotten to the point that I now look at the end of LC as sort of a relief, because I can finally break away from analysis and just watch the show for enjoyment again. But IDK if I’ll be able to do that in the same way. 

I’ve long suspected I’ll vanish from the fandom post-LC, and honestly? I kind of think I’m right. I’ll always be here on Tumblr, yeah, but I’ll probably stop engaging with YYH content as much. And I doubt I’ll ever write for the fandom again.

There’s no point to this. It’s just a rant.

Favorite Genre: I have very diverse tastes...classic rock, country, pop, oldies, 90′s rap and hip hop, you name it, I probably listen to it...shuffle my playlists and you’re likely to hear a country ballad by Randy Travis and Carrie Underwood, immediately followed by Blackstreet or Salt N Pepa.

Fav artists: Sara Bareilles, The Chicks, Genesis, Imagine Dragons, and Train are the first few that come to mind but there are so many I love, I’d be here forever if I named them all.

Fav song: Oh lord, this is an impossible question because I feel like it constantly changes.  I’d say my most enduring favorites are probably Wide Open Spaces by The Chicks and Hopeless by Train.

2020 creators wrapped

Okay, it’s kind of hard for me to top them, so without any specific order, here I bring you my favourites fanfics...

♦ Heaven is a place on earth with you (Sewis, Carlando and more...)

This is by far, my longest and most elaborated work. It’s an Angels and Demons AU, with different relationships and where every character plays his part, and makes you empathise with all of them (almost). It’s dramatic, fluffy, and has a surprising ending. I very proud of this.

♦Je t’aime (Sebchal)

This was my very first Sechal. Wasn’t very elaborated, in fact I wrote it in two hours, and posted it without being sure of it. But had a very good reception! more than any other of my works, and definitely more than what I could ever expect. This work is special because reassured me to keep writing and trying new things.

♦Because you live in shades of cool, your heart is unbreakeble (Sewis, past brocedes and Jenson/nico) 

Well, this is a very heartful saga, short but emotional... or at least, that’s what I tried. It’s not very popular, but it’s fluffy and one of my favourite plots: love letters, music inspiration, and moving on from a past relationship in good terms.

♦ Something about the boy (or poor little Charles) (Sewis, one sided Sebchal and Piarles)

Okay, this started as a joke, a big joke, after seeing those popular videos about Seb and Lewis being in their own bubble and making everyone feel like a third wheel and thinking “poor charles, he def. loves Seb but he only has eyes for Lewis”. But I ended up having the time of my life writing about a jealous Charles sabotagging sewis and failing over and over again (but he gets his happy ending of course)

♦Carlando Christmas Special (Carlando)

Okay, my first NSFW work. Again, I wasn’t very sure of this one. I thought it was a bit too much, and the fact that the person refused the gift didn’t help... but I’m happy with the result and the acceptance it had. This work inspires me and gives me confidence to write more of this stuff (which I def. will next year)

♦I'm your Biggest Fan (Follow you 'till you love me) (Sewis, hinted Piarles)

Okay, I had to mention this work because it took me a lot to write it, and I’m very very very proud of it, because I wrote it entirely for me, not for hits or kudos, just to please myself. The plot, eventhough its very specific, it’s a cliché: A Ferrari Academy Student Seb who’s in love with  pop star Lewis and with the help of his roomie tries to meet him in the stadium where he’s giving a concert. It doesn’t work, but their luck changes when they invite a model friends with Lewis to dinner and he’s willing to make the favour.
