Er kann wunderbar kochen; ich finde seine Speisen stets höchst deliziös, auch wenn es mir ein Rätsel ist, wie er richtig würzen kann ohne zu kosten, da ihm der Nikotin ja regelrecht den Geschmackssinn ruiniert hat. Auch wenn er manchmal richtig dumm sein kann, ist er doch sehr intelligent, und ich genieße unsere Diskussionen sehr. Ich finde es unglaublich herzig, wenn er sich aufregt, ahahaha!

Körperlich, ich meine, was gibt es nicht zu mögen? Ich fühle mich, wenn es um Männer geht, eher der älteren, erfahrenen Generation hingezogen. Und ja, trotz dass ich ihn oft unsanft ermahne, dass er mehr essen soll, finde ich seinen Körperbau doch sehr attraktiv.

Was er selbst nicht vor anderen zugeben möchte, ist dass er doch sehr sanft sein kann, wenn er will. Er wird zwar nicht zu einer komplett anderen Person wenn wir alleine sind, aber ist mir gegenüber, mittlerweile, um einiges authentischer geworden, und umgekehrt genauso.

Ach ja, ich denke unsere Aktivitäten im Schlafzimmer muss ich wohl kaum ansprechen. Ich möchte nur dazu sagen, dass er der Beste ist, den ich jemals hatte.

Ich denke aber das, was ich am meisten an ihm schätze, ist sein Verständnis. Er toleriert und akzeptiert... nun ja, alles an mir, auch wenn es nicht den Anschein hat. Er hilft mir meine Ängste zu bezwingen, was - ahahah! - doch regelrecht peinlich wäre, wenn jemand der sich so intensiv mit Angst beschäftigt, das nicht hinbekommen würde. Er würde es sich nie anmerken lassen, doch er ist ein sehr einfühlsamer Mensch... Er... Ich weiß nicht... Er macht mich einfach... glücklich.

Ahaha-hmm, of course I understand you. Fortunately, my dear Jonathan can't understand us, thus, I can answer your question. What I think is so nice and great about him, hmm...

He's a wonderful cook; I find that his meals are always highly delicious, even if it leaves me puzzled, how he's able to apply correct seasoning without tasting for himself, since the nicotine downright ruined his sense of taste. Even if he can sometimes be quite dumb, he is still very intelligent, and I very much enjoy our discussions. I find that it's incredibly adorable when he gets upset, ahahaha!

Physically, I mean, what's not to like? When it comes to men, I feel rather attracted to the older, more experienced generation. And yes, despite me often harshly admonishing him that he should eat more, I still find his body build quite attractive.

What he'd never admit himself in front of others, is that he certainly can be quite gentle, when he wants to. Now, he doesn't turn into a completely different person when we are alone, but he's since become much more authentic towards me, and vice versa.

Oh, and I think I'll hardly have to mention our activities in the bedroom. To that, I'd just like to add that he's the best I've ever had.

But I think that which I appreciate most about him is his understanding. He tolerates and accepts... well, everything about me, even if it doesn't seem apparent. He helps me with conquering my fears, which - ahahaha! - would be downright embarrassing if someone, who studies fear so intensively, wouldn't be able to manage that. He'd never let it show, but he's a very empathetic person. He... I don't know... He simply makes me... happy.

Stay: M Social Hotel Auckland

If Auckland hotels were living rooms, M Social would be the cool one with a harbour view, snacks on the table, and a robot butler! 🤖

Last Saturday night, my cousin Karen, my daughter Kaydes, and I checked in - again - to one of our favourite Auckland haunts: M Social. We’ve stayed here a bunch of times over the past couple of years, and honestly? It just keeps delivering the goods. The views, the convenience, the vibe - M Social just gets us. At this point, why would we even bother staying anywhere else?!

When Hari Met Kaydes

…or rather, vice versa. From the moment we now step into the lobby at M Social, Kaydes makes a beeline for Hari - the hotel’s ever-patient delivery robot who’s stationed near reception. The lobby itself is modern, light-filled, and full of playful design touches. But let's be honest - my kid is here for the bot! I now have to physically steer her away from his buttons as she opens his little cupboards, and hopefully stop her from making unintentional orders for him!

The lobby also opens up into Beast & Butterflies, the hotel’s on-site restaurant, which manages to feel stylish and comfy. We usually head down for the included breakfast (more on that later), but it’s also open for drinks or dinner if you fancy dining out without actually leaving the hotel.

For those driving in, the valet parking included in the Loaded package is a total game-changer. It’s one of the rare inner-city spots where you can pull up, hand over the keys, and forget about Auckland’s traffic and parking chaos for a little while. And the staff are more than happy to store your luggage if you arrive early. They’ll call you when your room’s ready, which is brilliant if you want to get in your room asap.

The 'Loaded' Perks

I always book the 'Social View Loaded Room' package. It includes free parking (a win for Karen, who drives up from the Waikato), plus complimentary charcuterie board and bubbles. You get to order the board and choose your wine from the house selection when you’re ready, which we love. No pressure to rush - we can settle in, get the bags sorted, and let Kaydes find her place in the room (usually somewhere between unpacking Stitch and twirling around a 'baby').

You can enjoy the board downstairs at Beast and Butterflies if you’re wanting a more social vibe, but we always opt for in-room with that glorious harbour view. I usually nibble away happily, Karen dives into her favourites, and Kaydes might sample a cracker or two before returning to her toddler-approved snacks. It’s relaxed, familiar, and feels like our own little ritual now.

We keep coming back for the location - everything we need is right outside the door. It's right near Britomart Station, Queen Street shopping, and the waterfront boardwalks make it a prime spot for both. We don’t come up to shop really, but it’s great having everything nearby in case we need to grab something.

The Room (King for Queens)

This latest time we were in a King bed configuration, and it was massive. Karen and I claimed the edges, and Kaydes promptly starfished in the middle - hence her new nickname: Starfish! She did try the cot at first… for a bit, before setting her sights on our bed inside.

The room design hits that sweet spot between practical and lovely. I love that there's a good size couch that is underneath the window, and table with comfy chair - just watch the light directly above! I've knocked my head on that a couple of times!

There’s all the mod cons, a smart TV, alarm clock charger, usb outlets, and a good mini fridge - which we always stock up with a few essentials. And while we don’t go wild with the coffee machine, the jug gets its fair share of use. If you're needing anything, Hari the robot is a quick call away to reception and can bring up extra milk or towels etc.

From our stays that have all been on level 12, you can see the whole sweep of Auckland’s harbour. With Devonport off in the distance and ferries gliding in and out all day. We love just sitting back and watching the world go by - people walking past, the boats going in and out, the city lights flickering after dark.

Just off the bedroom, the entryway has loads of counter space. Ideal for bags, snacks, or tossing the day’s bits and pieces. Opposite that is the bathroom, which is a great size, with strong water pressure and generously stocked toiletries. Everything’s clean, sleek, and laid out in a way that just works. No bath in our latest room type, but the Harbour Suites have lush ones.

Not much hotel-proofing frenzying is needed anymore. Kaydes is approaching four, and I'm loosening the reins a little, and she’s more aware and responsible for things. But, if I’m being honest, I still keep an eye on where she’s poking around - especially when it comes to calling robots!

Snacks, Macs, and Buffet Stacks

We don’t usually head out for dinner when we’re here - we’re honestly too content here. There's not too many hotels that I would want to stay all day at, but this is definitely one of them. Between our own stash of snacks and the charcuterie board (which I mainly devour while Kaydes nibbles on the odd piece here and there), we’re set. Mostly, we’ll dash to Woolworths or Maccas near Britomart and bring food back up for a cosy hotel-room picnic.

Breakfast is served downstairs at Beast and Butterflies, and is included with the Loaded package. Another reason we keep coming back. The vibe downstairs is stylish but friendly, with a layout that works for families. We never feel too out of place, even when we’re clearly there with a small tornado in tow!

Breakfast downstairs always hits the spot. I usually make a beeline for the eggs, hash browns, and other warm goodies I never cook for brekkie. It’s comforting, satisfying, and never feels like one of those hurried, hotel-afterthought buffets.

I don't always clock what Karen grabs, but she's always said that she enjoys it a lot. As for Kaydes, she lives her best breakfast life! Always watermelon, yoghurt, a couple of pastries, and her trusty Rice Bubbles. I normally dash around getting her favourites while Karen keeps an eye on her, and then we'll swap. It's such a large range there, and I love that I can pick a small bit of something new for Kaydes to sample, before going back to get more for her - or me!

Counting Down to Our Next Stay

I'm going to be booking our next stay for early August soon. Right before Kaydes and I take off for our big overseas adventure. And yes - we’ll be getting the Loaded package again.

It’s so lovely knowing what to expect (in the best way), while also discovering new little highlights. Like Hari the robot or an unexpected new dish on the breakfast bar.
