“Masculinity and patriarchy are one in the same” is one of the ideological pillars of patriarchy. It frames masculinity as something that can only be affirmed via a dominance relation and renders all forms of counter-hegemonic masculinity invisible. Ceding that territory to patriarchy only serves to erase the butches, trans mascs, trans men, nonbinary people, etc. who explore and live out subversive forms of masculinity. We would be far better served by understanding masculinity as something that patriarchy attempts to capture, rather than something it inherently owns, therefore shifting our understanding of masculinity away from seeing it as a component of the enemy and towards understanding it as continuously contested territory. Patriarchy attempts to enclose masculinity, rigidly define it, tie it to domination and control, and punishes all unsanctioned expressions of it. This capture is not inherent nor is it complete. Trans and gnc people have been undermining that project since it began! Many of the positions explored above take for granted that masculinity is a real and consistently definable phenomena: invented, made material, and defined by patriarchy alone. They assume that patriarchy’s word on masculinity has been the only real word, cis men’s understanding of it the only real understanding of it, its deployment in rigid gender roles its only possible manifestation. Cis men have been at the wheels of centralized power and thus have had more means to make their own voices drown out the rest of us, but subversive masculinities have always been here, have always been a threat to the patriarchal narrative. Many also assume that when queer and trans people refer to masculinity we are always referring to a masculinity that at least gains its meaning from patriarchy. It is time to inform you that your imagination up until this point has been disastrously stifled. Certainly, popular conceptualizations of hegemonic masculinity are inherently patriarchal and gain their meaning from that system. However, it is too far to assume that trans people are always referring to the same framework of masculinity that cis men do. We create our own meaning even as we expand masculinity to the point of meaninglessness. I take testosterone and am seeking top surgery to affirm my womanhood. Glitter, dramatic eyeliner, platform boots, and extremely slutty deep-V shirts validate my sense of my masculinity as much as work boots and button-ups do. Some of us are simply not referring to patriarchal masculinity when we are doing masculinity and what we’re doing is not new. Not only is masculinity not inherently patriarchal: masculinity is not inherently anything at all! Masculinity, femininity, and all gendered terms are vibes-based only and vibes are always changing with people and context! They are not real! Their utility is in play and self-exploration and any insistence of inherent reality beyond that will itself necessarily refer to patriarchy.
read the entire essay by Lee Shevek (@butchanarchy) — she does an excellent job breaking down the problem with conflating masculinity with patriarchy, especially how that leads to vilifying masculine people who are harmed by the patriarchy.

[Breaking News!] Our Fontaine gadget makers did it again, folks!
A collaboration project between Fontaine's best gadget makers and the scholars at Sumeru Akademiya has resulted in a prototype device inspired by the now-obsolete AKASHA system.
Not many details have been revealed, but as the scholars described it, they are aiming to use the concept of AKASHA to create a virtual space, called TeyvaTweets, where people can communicate with one another without seeing each other's faces! Yes - much quite like a communication device, but one that utilizes text instead of the usual verbal methods of communication.
A few selected testers have been invited to try it out, and if you're one of the lucky ones - congratulations! We look forward to seeing how this new technology will help connect people across Teyvat.

clicking on pfp/name/username in a tweet (orange box) will open the profile of that person. clicking the 'x' icon on the popup box's top right side will close the user profile.
clicking the tweet on the main page will open the tweet's replies thread. clicking the back button will bring you back to the main page.
𝚆𝚊𝚛𝚗𝚒𝚗𝚐𝚜.
there are suggestive contents inside, but nothing explicit.
some of you make cameos under other people's tweets too! see if you can spot yourself ;)
there's a lot of images for this one so the page might load slowly for you, especially if your internet isn't fast. i'm also using a free hosting service from GitHub, so yeah.
in order to indulge everyone, please pretend the tweet reply threads that 'overlap' with one another is a separate world on their own (e.g. if multiple people are flirting with a character and they flirt back in the reply thread don't point fingers and say that they're unfaithful / is cheating / ruin someone else's fun in general ;;;)
tested on chrome & safari web browsers on a mac and iphone + google pixel. crossing my fingers that it works on other devices too...
created for 𝓏𝒽𝑜𝓃𝑔𝓇𝒾𝓃'𝐬 𝐬𝐮𝐫𝐩𝐫𝐢𝐬𝐞 𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐧𝐭 (submissions are closed)
might make a y/n-ify version of this in the future bc my brain accidentally fleshed out a whole concept of how it would work, but don't count me on that bc it's gonna take a lot more effort than this and honestly idk if it's even worth it-

"Confederate monuments bear what the anthropological theorist Michael Taussig would call a public secret: something that is privately known but collectively denied. It does no good to simply reveal the secret — in this case, to tell people that most of the Confederate monuments were erected not at the end of the Civil War, to honor those who fought, but at the height of Jim Crow, to entrench a system of racial hierarchy. That’s already part of their appeal. Dr. Taussig has argued that public secrets don’t lose their power unless they are transformed in a manner that does justice to the scale of the secret. He compares the process to desecration. How can you expect people to stop believing in their gods without providing some other way of making sense of this world and our future?
Swords Into Plowshares might have been the first to propose melting, but other communities are working out their own creative visions for Lee’s afterlife. One of the biggest changes so far has been at Arlington House, the historic plantation mansion at the center of Arlington National Cemetery, which is the official national Robert E. Lee Memorial. In 2021, Arlington House reopened with displays not only about Lee’s family, who lived there after they inherited it from Lee’s father-in-law, but also about the lives of the families enslaved there. Even Lee’s burial site at Washington and Lee University in Lexington, Va. — where he served as president after the war — has changed. The university decided to focus on Lee the civilian rather than Lee the general, for example by moving a prominent portrait of him in uniform. And it constructed a wall to enclose the large sculpture of Lee that once claimed an insistent place in the university’s chapel.
Covering this story over the past few years, I’ve come to realize two things. First, when a monument disappears without a ceremony to mark why it is coming down, a community has no chance to recognize that it has itself changed. (Ideally the ceremony is public, but because of safety concerns, the melting I attended was not.) Second, if you are outraged that something’s happening to your community’s heroic statue of Lee, you’re not going to be any less outraged if the statue is moved to some hidden storeroom than if it’s thrown into a landfill. So if all changes, large or small, will be resisted, why not go for the ones with the most symbolic resonance?
That’s why the idea to melt Lee down, as violent as it might initially seem, struck me as so apt. Confederate monuments went up with rich, emotional ceremonies that created historical memory and solidified group identity. The way we remove them should be just as emotional, striking and memorable. Instead of quietly tucking statues away, we can use monuments one final time to bind ourselves together into new communities.
...
When the remaining legal barriers were cleared (including a last-minute lawsuit that sought to have the statue reassembled), Lee was finally ready to surrender to the furnace. The foundryman turned on the propane supply and laid Lee’s sword across the hole in the lid. He told the spectators that the metal had to get hot enough to release any moisture before he maneuvered it down through the hole into the crucible.
Tumblr media
When he did, its blade stuck up out of the furnace for a moment, then melted down “like a stick of butter,” as Dr. Schmidt put it.
Lee’s face was the last piece to go into the crucible. Given how often the monument and its ideals were celebrated with flames — from Klansmen’s torches to the tiki torches of white nationalists in 2017 — it seemed fitting for flames to close over the monument.
...
Dr. Douglas, Swords Into Plowshares’ other co-founder, apologized that the ceremony could not be public. She thanked those in attendance, telling us we were witnessing it on behalf of Charlottesville’s residents, including those long gone who lived under slavery. Someday, she said, when we think of Civil War heroes, we will imagine not Lee but, instead, those who fought for their freedom against him.
The man in the protective visor dropped the red-hot piece of metal that once represented Lee on the ground. It fell to pieces, which he fed into the crucible. A line of cameras faced him, making new images of history as the old image finally disappeared in flames.

Hi, I think I am running into an issue of being consistent in my world in what things are possible and what things are not possible. Like, one world can do spacesuits that look almost identical to thin raincoats except they enclose the entire body and well obviously connected to oxygen tanks and such, which are no bigger than a couple CD cases. What other technology should I expect them to have and not write them as being unable to have technology that should be possible once they have the above type of spacesuit. Like having very cumbersome firefighting gear with heat protection that is woefully underdeveloped for a civilisation that can already develop such spacesuits. Though perhaps, that could in fact be explained by money and amount required? A billion firefighters but less than 200 astronauts. That's just one example of course but I think my story is riddled with things like this that doesn't seem to make much sense I guess? How do I approach this?
Tex: If you already have a couple sets of tech that your world is using, it’s generally helpful to examine how that technology would be made and break it down into its component parts. For example, your space suit has a material that can conform to a body shape, so it might be some form of memory material or possibly integrated with a program to reshape itself. The oxygen tanks are incredibly compact - how do they cycle its input, and what does it do with the waste material?
How efficient are these technologies, how are the component materials produced? What other ways can each component piece of technology also be used for? What are the goals of each component, and what were the lead-up inventions that developed each system?
Licorice: Let’s not forget, it’s realistic for worlds to be inconsistent with their tech. In our own world, we are building quantum computers and can edit genes, yet small children still die of preventable or easily curable diseases. In our world, tech doesn’t ‘migrate’ from one sector to another unless there is money to be made from it.
As well as the tech itself, one needs to consider who owns it, why it was developed, who’s paying for it, and what community is being served. If the owner of a fabulously wealthy tech-based multinational is paying for the space suits, whereas the firemen work in shanty towns and are paid by subscriptions from the community they serve - well, there's going to be a huge gap in the funds available to pay for the latest tech.
While it is true that we tend to develop tech to solve problems, there are plenty of problem we don’t bother to create tech for - and sometimes there’s a problem, and a small band of dedicated people develop the tech to deal with it, and then nobody has any interest in developing that tech to the point where it has real use in practical applications.
When considering technology, we need to think not only about the tech itself, but the nature of the society that is creating it. What do they think is important? What are their priorities?
For example, during 'the space race' some of the tech NASA developed was top secret due to the Cold War also being a thing happening at that time, but plenty of other tech was released for commercial purposes. If you're in Communist Russia, the average person may never benefit from space tech because the central planners of the economy don’t see what the USSR would gain from doing that, whereas if you’re in 1960s USA, capitalism is going to make some of that advanced tech available to consumers, for a price. The consumers here may be private individuals, or private companies, or public institutions.
Addy: So, first off oxygen/pressure manipulation is different from insulation. If you look at the purpose of an object, as well as what kinds of things need to go into achieving that purpose, you have more room to handwave than if you try to apply a single consistent "tech level."
Continuing on the firefighter example. Oxygen and other gasses can be compressed, but liquids generally can't. If you're mixing some kind of aerosol spray with a liquid carrier that then expands into a firefighting foam, that could mean you need bulky tanks. If you want insulation, that could mean thick suits to buy them more time, especially if you have them also dealing with super-hot wildfires or chemical spills. More layers, more material to absorb the heat before it reaches the skin… like how thick sweaters are better at blocking the cold (and keeping heat in) compared to a thinner t-shirt.
Internal consistency can, to a point, be worked with if you look at differences in base requirements. Space doesn't really have much of a temperature, so you're mostly looking at life-support and radiation-blocking capabilities. For the sets of tech you have, what needs do they address? How can they be used for other things?
You also mention cost, which is a huge factor in real-life development. Making fancy materials is expensive, and it gets even more expensive if you need them • to a very tight tolerance • custom-made into certain shapes (such as for each astronaut) • or both of those. A custom-made bespoke suit may cost several thousand dollars, but a suit off the rack is going to be much more affordable.
Sure, you could make every firefighter suit custom-molded to each person's body, but what if they retire or gain/lose weight? Or if they transfer stations and need new badges? Also, are you really going to see a large benefit if you do that vs if you do a standard array of S/M/L/etc? Not really, tbh. The cost of customization isn't worth the added benefit of a custom fit. (Especially for a town, which has a smaller budget than a federal government)
I see it kinda like asking why, in our modern day, you don't see everyone wearing Rolexes or Armani, or why some people have gas-powered cars when electric cars exist. Or why some people don't have access to cars at all.
The big question isn't that the materials for the spacesuits can be made, it's how much making those costs. The world is not a homogenous thing.
So if you're looking at things that seem inconsistent, look at the factors driving the development of those things. What's the motive? And who's paying the cost of that development?

This is fine. Everything is fine. All we have to do is put our hands over our heads and submit to the Emergency Pacification Balls as they fly gently towards our faces.
Tumblr media
We're armed with knowledge, but that knowledge makes things better, not worse. What are we supposed to do, convince Yomi that Yomi has been conspiring against Yomi all this time?
Tumblr media
I guess that's the plan! You got this, man. I believe in you!
Tumblr media
Good try! Follow-through needs work.
Fortunately, he's not shot. Yomi whipped him in the face. I'll be sure to ask Halara to take that out of Yomi's hide. They charge interest.
An eye for an eye makes the whole world blind, which is why winners take the nose too.
Tumblr media
I'm so glad we left Halara behind to administer CPR to a man we then proceeded to kill behind their back. This was a brilliant use of our Chief Asskicker's time. 10/10 Solid delegation of duties all around.
Tumblr media
Says a voice from behind Yomi. If that's Halara Fucking Nightmare then it's a killer one-li--
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Apparently it's Makoto's turn to ride in with the cavalry. But. I'm not sure what that could possibly be that's important enough to shut Yomi down in this conversation but not important enough to get Makoto shot.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
That's cool and all but we're in an enclosed space and Yomi has two huge guns in his hands. There is no way we solve this by simply rubbing his nose in his crimes, right?
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Well. See. The thing about "The military is the greatest threat to the government" is that. Like. That's a thing because of the loyalty soldiers have for their chain of command, especially their leaders. A good military works hard to instill in its men a bond of trust.
The reason the military is a threat to the government is that a soldier's first loyalty is often to the guy next to him in the dugout. When you're at war, you're fighting for your bros. That kind of bond is powerful, and soldiers may come to see the highest military officer as their leader. Not the king.
If your general and your king come to blows, and your soldiers side with your general? What's the king even supposed to do then?
But. Like. Yomi beats up his own guys for funsies. He had his second-in-command crushed into a cube. This is not a man who instills a great deal of loyalty into his soldiers. They respect the position, not the man.
So now when he shrieks, "LAUNCH THE COUP!!!"
Like. Sure. You go launch your coup. Good luck with that.
Wait, why did you give them back their guns? Weird choice, dude.
Tumblr media
I don't know if I disagree with Yomi. I mean, I disagree with the clear xenophobia he's displaying but I don't know about Makoto specifically. There's a lot to be paranoid about regarding Makoto.
However, as I've often said about Makoto, the morality of a person is not defined by what they're against. It's defined by what they're for. We know exactly what Yomi's for: Fascism, brutality, aggressive capitalism, and self-aggrandizement.
So maybe he's right. Maybe Makoto sucks too. I'm still suspicious of him. But Makoto isn't the one being interrogated right now. We'll fuck up Yomi today and if Makoto sucks too then we'll fuck him up tomorrow.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Oh hey, Martina! She's back from being cubed! Guess those soldiers he had take her away got five feet past earshot and then went, "Did he seriously ask us to do that? What the fuck, man?"
Tumblr media
Look at that. It's almost like mistreating the people on your side only drives them into the arms of the enemy or something. The most valuable problem-solving resource in the world is another human being, and Yomi's out here giving them away.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Get fucked, Yomi.
But. Also. When cops arrest each other for corruption, it only kicks the can down the road. Jackass is going away for a long time but this is still a company town ruled by the best private army that capitalism can buy. Even if the new Director is nicer, the system that created Yomi remains in effect.
Tumblr media
Yomi's screaming blood fury at the top of his lungs but all I can hear is
Makoto: CEO go blep.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
HA!
They made so much fuss about how much more "Good Police" Martina is than Yomi. Caring about the rights of suspects and all that. Yomi legit had his men saying things like, "You DO NOT have a right to remain silent, you DO NOT have a right to an attorney" to drive home how crooked and evil he is - Which is then contrasted when Martina demonstrates a new philosophy of policing with her--
Martina: I quit. Me and my better philosophy will leave this organization immediately.
Oh, nuts to that, then! Guess all of Yomi's men will have to wing it.
It's funny but I can't really criticize. The most moral thing a "good person" can do as a cop is to stop being a cop. You don't change the system. The system changes you, or it ousts you.
Tumblr media
Corporate security strikes again. Like Huesca, Yomi thought he was invulnerable. So he had no need to hide things. Left his diary of financial misdeeds lying around on his desk in his unlocked office.
That was super easy! For Makoto. Not for us. We've had a hell of a ride.
Tumblr media
Sorry, man. I know you were angling to get shot but Yomi likes to go for the pain. Better luck next time.

indoor grow tent is becoming increasingly popular as more and more people look for ways to cultivate their own plants. But with so many options, it can be difficult to decide which one is best for you. Should you opt for a greenhouse or an indoor grow tent? In this article, we will explore the benefits of both and compare them in terms of yields, cost-effectiveness, convenience and other factors. We will start by looking at the advantages that come with using an indoor grow tent compared to a traditional greenhouse. We'll then discuss how maximizing yields can be achieved through careful planning when setting up your indoor environment. Finally we'll weigh up the pros and cons of each option before giving our verdict on which one might suit your needs best. So if you're considering taking on an indoor gardening project but aren't sure where to begin – read on! Indoor grow tents and greenhouses are both popular options for those looking to cultivate plants indoors. Both provide an enclosed space with controlled environmental conditions, allowing gardeners to create the ideal environment for their plants. However, there are some key differences between these two growing methods that can help you decide which is best suited for your needs. When it comes to cost and convenience, indoor grow tents have a clear advantage over greenhouses. Indoor grow tents come in all shapes and sizes so they can fit into any available space in your home or garage without taking up too much room or costing too much money. They also require minimal setup time compared to building a greenhouse from scratch, making them an ideal choice if you want something quick and easy that won’t break the bank. In terms of temperature control, indoor grow tents offer more flexibility than greenhouses due to their ability to be moved around easily when needed as well as having adjustable vents on the sides of the tent itself which allow air flow regulation depending on what type of plant is being grown inside it at any given time. This makes them perfect for those who need specific temperatures maintained throughout different stages of growth or during certain times of day/night cycles when temperatures may fluctuate outside naturally. Additionally , since most indoor grow tents are made out of reflective materials , they also help keep light levels consistent within its walls while still allowing natural sunlight through windows if desired. On the other hand , greenhouses typically provide more stability in terms of temperature control due to their permanent structure but this does come at a higher cost upfront since constructing one requires more effort than setting up an indoor tent. Greenhouse designs also tend not be very flexible when it comes adjusting size or shape once built so if you’re looking for something with more versatility then an indoor tent might be better suited instead. Furthermore , because they rely heavily on natural sunlight coming through windows rather than artificial lighting sources like LED lights found inside many modern-day hydroponic systems (which can often produce higher yields) then overall yield potentials may not reach maximum levels unless supplemental lighting sources such as HID lamps are used alongside traditional window-based setups - thus adding additional costs onto already expensive projects. Overall while both methods have advantages and disadvantages depending on individual needs , ultimately choosing between either option will depend largely upon budget constraints along with how much energy one has available (both physical & financial) towards creating either system from scratch - though whichever method chosen should still yield satisfactory results regardless! Discover the Benefits of Indoor Grow Tents An indoor grow tent with potted plants and sunlight. Indoor grow tents offer a variety of benefits for those looking to cultivate plants indoors. For starters, they provide an enclosed environment that can be easily controlled and monitored.
This means you can adjust the temperature, humidity, light levels and other environmental factors to create the perfect conditions for your plants to thrive. Additionally, indoor grow tents are much more affordable than greenhouses and require less maintenance as well. Indoor grow tents also come in a range of sizes so you can find one that fits your space perfectly without having to make any major modifications or renovations. Furthermore, because they’re self-contained units with their own ventilation systems built in, there’s no need to worry about external elements such as pests or weather affecting your crop yield either! Finally, indoor grow tents are incredibly easy to set up and use – all you need is some basic knowledge on how best to care for your plants within them! With just a few simple steps you could have everything ready in no time at all – making it ideal if you’re short on time but still want great results from growing indoors! Comparing Greenhouse and Grow Tent Cultivation An indoor grow tent housing potted plants. When it comes to cultivating plants indoors, there are two main options: greenhouses and grow tents. Both offer advantages and disadvantages depending on the needs of the grower. Greenhouses provide a more natural environment for growing plants as they allow in sunlight from outside while still providing protection from wind, rain, pests, and other environmental factors. Greenhouse cultivation is ideal for those looking to create a large-scale operation or who have limited space outdoors but need plenty of light for their crops. The downside is that greenhouses require more energy to maintain due to heating/cooling systems needed year-round as well as additional ventilation equipment such as fans or exhaust systems which can be costly over time. Grow tents offer an alternative solution with many benefits including portability (they can be moved around easily), affordability (they are much cheaper than building a greenhouse) and ease of use (no extra ventilation equipment required). Grow tents also provide complete control over temperature, humidity levels and lighting conditions making them great for beginners just starting out in indoor gardening or experienced growers wanting precise control over their crop’s environment without having to invest in expensive equipment like air conditioners or dehumidifiers. Maximizing Yields with an Indoor Growing Environment An indoor grow tent filled with potted plants in the sunlight. Indoor growing environments offer a unique opportunity to maximize yields and control the environment in which your plants grow. By controlling temperature, humidity, light intensity, and other factors you can create an ideal environment for your plants to thrive. With an indoor grow tent or greenhouse you can also easily monitor conditions such as pH levels and nutrient availability. This makes it easier to adjust the environment as needed for optimal growth of your crops. Additionally, since these structures are enclosed they provide protection from pests that may otherwise damage or destroy crops grown outdoors. The biggest advantage of using an indoor growing structure is that it allows you to extend the growing season by providing a controlled climate all year round regardless of outside weather conditions. You can also take advantage of natural sunlight when available while still having access to supplemental lighting when necessary during periods with less daylight hours or inclement weather conditions like rain or snowfall. With this kind of flexibility comes greater potential for higher yields than what could be achieved with outdoor cultivation alone due to increased control over environmental factors such as temperature and humidity levels within the enclosure itself rather than relying on external sources which may not always be reliable depending on location and time of year. Overall, utilizing an indoor grow tent or greenhouse provides
many benefits including extended seasons , better pest prevention , improved crop quality , increased yield potentials , more efficient use of resources (water/fertilizer) ,and greater control over environmental factors leading towards healthier plant growth overall. The Pros and Cons of Growing in a Tent vs a Greenhouse An indoor grow tent filled with potted plants. Growing plants indoors can be a great way to ensure that your plants get the best environment possible. But when it comes to deciding between a grow tent and a greenhouse, there are pros and cons for each option. Grow tents offer an enclosed space with adjustable light, temperature, humidity levels, and ventilation. This makes them ideal for indoor growing as they provide complete control over the environment in which your plants will thrive. They also tend to be more affordable than greenhouses and require less maintenance since they’re smaller in size. On the downside, grow tents don’t have natural sunlight or fresh air like greenhouses do so you may need additional lighting sources such as LED lights or HID lamps if you want your plants to reach their full potential growth-wise. Greenhouses on the other hand offer plenty of natural sunlight which is essential for photosynthesis but this means that temperatures can become too hot during summer months without proper cooling systems installed inside them - something not all growers have access too or budget for! Additionally, greenhouses take up much more space than grow tents so if you’re limited on room then this might not be an ideal option either unless you opt for one of those mini-greenhouse kits available online nowadays! Lastly, due to their larger size they require regular cleaning and maintenance compared with smaller indoor spaces such as grow tents - something else worth considering before making a decision about what type of setup would work best in your situation! Optimizing Your Plant Growth with an Indoor Grow Tent Setup Indoor grow tents are becoming increasingly popular for those looking to optimize their plant growth. Grow tents provide an enclosed environment that can be easily controlled, allowing you to create the perfect conditions for your plants. With a well-designed indoor grow tent setup, you can ensure optimal temperature and humidity levels as well as adequate light exposure. Additionally, with the right ventilation system in place, you will be able to maintain proper air circulation and keep pests away from your plants. All of these factors contribute to healthy growth and better yields when it comes time for harvest! If you’re looking for a way to maximize your plant production without having to invest in a greenhouse or other expensive equipment, then an indoor grow tent is definitely worth considering! "But there is an important distinction to be made between the first two waves and the third. The first two waves make technology an object of politics, but they generally target regulatory and legislative solutions—which is to say, their interventions largely remain within the realm of official politics. For example, a first-waver might demand that regulatory agencies submit automated systems to algorithmic audits or impact assessments in order to identify biases, while a second-waver might demand a legislative ban on certain types or uses of software, like facial recognition or targeted advertising.
"The third wave, by contrast, not only makes technology an object of politics but a terrain of politics. It wants to do politics through technology. And this means that the third-waver must develop an analysis of the specificities of technology as a site of political struggle, in the same way that feminists had to develop an analysis of the specificities of the household as a site of political struggle. To do politics through technology, we need to understand how technologies do politics."
"Our technological inheritance is also mediated by a degree of discontinuity. Here too, the past does not completely enclose the present. On the one hand, the artifacts that populate our technological present carry a politics that has been molded by racial capitalism and its many imperial enterprises. Yet they are not comprehensively determined by those politics. This is because, as Winner writes, technology “always does more than we intend.” Technological systems are unpredictable. They tend to create “a complex set of linkages that continues beyond one’s original anticipation.”
"Winner calls it “drift”: the process whereby a technology imposes requirements of its own, pulling us ass-backwards along an unchosen course."

Humans☕
~
The rustle of dry leaves clinging to their life-giver, unwilling to let themselves fall. But they eventually will, as the cycle of all things continues steadily.
The hot steam of a warm beverage rises into the air, creating wispy shapes with the understanding of its freedom to do so.
The winds change directions, letting life hitch a ride to a new, unfamiliar place. The chills of seasons change and drift on by, giving a cold kiss to the skin.
The fire crackles and burns, raging under the force keeping it enclosed to the fireplace. It speaks of its angers, its means of destruction, but deep down it knows how much of a life-bringing force it truly is.
The snow-capped mountains loom beautifully on the horizon, forever captivated by their view of the low lands they once used to be. The stoic pride of these mountains is strong, but will never overshadow what happens below.
The bees can sense the cold coming from past the mountains, but they do not fret. They continue to diligently work their duties, willing to sacrifice anything for their queen. In this colony, society is only devoted to their person of importance, their life-bringer. Everyone is close-knit because they share one goal, to survive and thrive.
Humans are long past the stage of surviving. But they are not thriving. Turned to their inner turmoil, the only thing they see is the blood of the slain. The blood on their hands. The blood inside themselves that they know is sacred but cannot bring themselves to protect.
The stars blink with burning bright rage. This rage is not of anger, however, but of acceptance. Acceptance that they are just one mere puzzle piece in the universe. Humans have yet to understand this.
Humans have yet to understand that they are not just humans. They are celestial beings of the universe, bound by the balance of the universe. They are the universe's consciousness, they are the stardust that makes up everything around them. They are everything, and everything is them. But they have cut off this connection.
Why? Because they have strayed too far from the balance. They, instead of chasing peace, chase war. They give into their impulses, and when they realize they are no longer happy, they try to make themselves the victims of offense. Humans are looking in the wrong place for their happiness.
War, blood, hatred, offense, arguments, disagreements, and more, are drugs. They're addicted to it. They can't stop. They continue to ruin their lives and their universe with their addiction. It only brings temporary triumph, then drags them deeper into a void of their own sorrows and rage.
War, famine, disease, natural disasters, and lacking lifespan are not for no reason. It's the balance. It's the Earth trying to survive. It's the universe trying to correct itself of its mistakes. Humans. Humans have become mistakes.
Humans used to be the universe's greatest innovation. Such intelligence could do amazing things. Such a brain could suspend itself between reality and fiction, calculate things that no one before could understand. Such a people could transcend time with just willpower.
But we have failed. We have become mistakes. We have taken our abilities and turned them into weapons against ourselves. We have divided ourselves because of petty, childish things that deserve no room in our world.
We are succumbing to a repeated failure. Every civilization, every people, every species of life is destined to fail because they will never understand the true gravity of their existence. We will never make it out of our solar system, because we have failed to make peace with ourselves and stop the unnecessary violence that is our past and future.
As the seasons change, humans never will. Autumn comes with the warning of a killing cold, and the harsh reality that not everything lives forever. Immortality is a dream we will only experience once we give up our mortality. Once our life ends, we return back to the universe again, to one day reincarnate into a new attempt at understanding what the universe itself doesn't know it holds.

Duma-GET-me indeed!
This week, I was able to go to Dumaguete and take a break from all the pollution and stress that the city was crushing me with.
Don't get me wrong—I love the city. It's been my home for as long as I can remember, and waking up to the symphony of cars, jeepneys, and the lively chaos of my siblings gearing up for school serves as my daily wake-up call. There's something oddly comforting about it, almost like my own built-in alarm system.
Plus! I find joy in navigating the city's well-worn sidewalks, effortlessly making my way to malls whenever I need something I can't find elsewhere. Walking around, I like the sound of traffic and the random voices of people on the streets. These things have shaped the way I see life. Everything moves fast here, and if you're slow, you end up behind in the busy city life. Yet, it's in this hustle and bustle, within my umwelt, that I've found the essence of life—embracing the noise, finding beauty in everyday things, and cherishing the moments that might get lost in the city's lively rhythm.
Tumblr media
Ok back to the main point! Dumaguete!
Planning this trip with my friends turned out to be a really cool experience. I carefully sorted out where we'd go, like Pulangbato Falls, the beach house, the boulevard, and Valencia, aiming for each place to be fun and different. My main goal was for all of us, especially my boyfriend (the main reason for the trip), to enjoy the fresh air away from the city. I imagined everyone just sitting, chilling, and listening to the trees talk—a sort of shared escape into our own separate worlds.
I had all these thoughts in my head because I'm someone who likes setting and reaching goals. I'm one to create a mental picture of how I want our adventure to be. However, the trip didn't go exactly as planned. It brought some unexpected drama and uncomfortable moments, a mix of challenges that turned out to be both testing and revealing to our friendship and my relationship.
The first day in Dumaguete left me feeling a bit down. I thought everyone would support my plans, but instead, we ended up arguing a lot, and I felt like we wasted time. At that moment, my envisioned shared escape seemed a bit shaken.
Surprisingly, though, these challenges led to us talking more, especially with my boyfriend. We shared feelings and concerns that we'd kept quiet about for months. This unexpected stuff brought us closer and made our connection stronger, turning a difficult situation into something that benefited us. Looking back, I'm glad for these challenges because they made our bonds stronger, and I don't regret anything about it.
Tumblr media
Fastforward, Dumaguete offered a mix of experiences—from the refreshing breeze to the absence of busy traffic and the unique local foods that differed from what I knew in the city. Everything here felt like the opposite of the hustle I was accustomed to. Once, while lounging on the balcony with my friends, time seemed to stretch, creating a sense of extended tranquility, even though it was just a short 30 minutes.
In Dumaguete, life took on a distinct quality—an experience that felt like we were in a fishbowl. The surroundings, whether the trees, the birds in flight, or the chickens casually strolling around, gently enclosed us. This crafted an atmosphere of intimacy, like quietly observing life through the see-through walls of a fishbowl. These subtle elements made four days feel like a laid-back month-long stay for us, to be honest.
Tumblr media
I can't wait to be back in this paradise, as I felt and grew so much in it despite it being just for a few days. Even after arriving in Cebu, I felt like a completely different person because I left behind all the bad stuff in Cebu and found a better version of myself in Dumaguete.
Like the locals say, "Duma-get-me!," and Dumaguete really did get me in a good way.

Going Green: The Environmental Benefits of Using Hydroponic Grow Tents
Tumblr media
If you're looking for an eco-friendly way to make a positive impact on the environment, Hydroponic Grow Tent Central Coast may be just what you need. With their ability to reduce water usage and minimize runoff pollution, these innovative solutions offer many advantages over traditional gardening methods. Our company provide you complete hydroponic grow tent systems and we are best in our field.
Not only do they require less space and feed fewer resources than soil-based growing techniques, but they also provide better control of pests and disease management that can help maximize your crop yields.
In this blog post, we'll explore the environmental benefits of using hydroponic grow tents – from energy efficiency to improved air quality – so that you can make the most responsible choice for your garden or farm.
Grow Tents are ideal for Beginners
Hydroponic Grow Tent Central Coast is an ideal choice for beginners. They are easy to set up and use, portable and inexpensive. In addition, they allow you to manage the environment of your plants by controlling light, temperature and humidity.
The best grow tents are easy to set up and use. They also come with a number of features that make them more efficient, such as vents and fans.
Safer growing environment
The use of grow tents has many benefits, but one of the most important is that they create a safer growing environment. Using hydroponics to grow your plants means there's little risk of disease or pests attacking them, as well as keeping the area clean and tidy.
Energy Efficient
Tumblr media
One of the biggest advantages of using Hydroponic Grow Tent Central Coast is that it can be energy efficient. A lot of energy is saved because you don't need to use grow lights and ventilation systems in your home. If you use hydroponics, it's important to maintain an optimal temperature for your plants to thrive. You also have to make sure there's enough air flow so that the plants do not get too hot or too cold.
With a hydroponic system inside a grow tent, these concerns are easily taken care of because everything is enclosed within one unit--it doesn't matter if there are windows open or doors closed on either side as long as they're all sealed off from each other!
This makes controlling temperature much simpler than if you were trying another method such as growing outdoors or indoors without any protection at all."
Easy to Install
One of the biggest advantages of using a grow tent is that it's easy to install. You don't need any tools, and you can do it yourself without having any experience. The kit comes with everything you need for installation, including an instruction manual with pictures showing how to assemble your new hydroponics system.
A great for Pest Control
A hydroponic grow tent is great for pest control. The environment inside the tent is kept clean and safe for your plants, protecting against mould, mildew and fungus. It also keeps the environment temperature controlled so that you don't have to worry about your plants getting too hot or cold during their growth cycle.
Conclusion
The main advantage of using Hydroponic Grow Tent Central Coast is the ability to control the environment inside the tent. This allows you to create optimal conditions for growing plants, which means that you can grow herbs, vegetables or even flowers in your own home without needing a large space or expensive equipment. The best part about hydroponic gardening is that it doesn't require soil at all!

Raised Bed Gardening will make your Plants VERY Happy
Not only will raised bed gardening make your plants very happy, but if you’re the kind of gardener who wants to enjoy incredible results, without having to put in too much time and effort, then raised bed gardening will most likely be the kind of growing solution that best suits your gardening style too. But first, let’s take a look at what raised bed gardening actually is…
What is raised bed gardening?
The simplest definition of the raised garden bed is a space for plants to grow, constructed in an upward direction instead of a downward one. Sometimes this translates to a simple pile of soil, or a few heaps of soil that have been enclosed in boxes to help keep their shape. A large container fabric pot can also be used to create a raised garden bed. The advantage of using a fabric pot to create your raised garden bed is that you can shift its position relatively easily. Place your fabric container on top of a garden table one day and then on top of the patio, by the wall in the shade, the next.
Tumblr media
Incidentally, the concept of the raised gardening bed dates all the way back to 300BC. Pre-Hispanic communities and tribes who lived close to the Andes Mountains made use of the raised bed garden as a way of protecting their plants from erosion. The system they used was called “waru waru”. Not all gardeners like or approve of the technique. Many traditionalists believe in keeping gardens and plants down at ground level. But there are many benefits to raised bed gardening, which is why thousands of years later the system remains.
No tilling, better soil, happier plants
In a traditional garden bed, it’s important to till up the soil on a regular basis, because it’s the best way of adding all the necessary ingredients to the soil to keep your plants healthy for longer. In a raised bed, just like in container gardening, tilling isn’t necessary. When adding fertilizer, compost (learn how to make your own compost), mulch, or manure to your soil, you simply place it on top. Natural tilling occurs as the roots push their way down and worms work their way through the soil. Over time the organic element of the soil in a raised garden bed increases, improving the strength and vitality of your plants.
Tumblr media
Greater protection from little critters
When cultivating plants at ground level, we’re essentially presenting an open invitation to pesky garden critters, like slugs, to munch their way through whatever it is we’re trying to grow. Raised garden beds, particularly those that are built as wooden boxes, make it more difficult for slugs to actually get to the plant bed in the first place. You’ll be able to see them slowly climb their way up the sides of the bed, which will make it a little easier to control pest infestation and keep your plants happier. The higher you raise your bed, the better. In fact the higher the bed, the less opportunity there is for dogs to urinate all over your plants too.
Raised soil equates to better drainage
If you didn’t know already, one of the most common ways of killing a plant is by exposing it to too much water. If your garden is prone to flooding, or if the land you’re cultivating on is particularly marshy, then a raised garden bed can be really useful. Equally, if you live in a region with heavy rainfalls, an elevated bed is a great idea (Tip from Denny Schrock at the Uni. of Missouri) Plant leaves are kept away from any water that may congregate beneath the top layer of soil, roots are given a better opportunity to dry out, and heavy rains can come and go without putting your plants at risk. Remember that a raised garden bed is easy to setup with a spring pot and that our spring pots are available in a full range of sizes, from one to 400 gallons.
Tumblr media
Raised bed gardens are excellent projects for beginners
On a final note, we think it’s worth noting that raised bed gardening is a really good option for beginner gardeners. It might be a little more expensive to actually set up a raised garden bed, but it’s easier to get really positive results first time round from a raised bed garden. In fact, you can have a fully functioning garden within a year if you choose to cultivate using raised beds. This is because there are many complications and barriers, like overwatering and tilling, that beginner gardeners avoid when planting in raised beds.

Realm is what word feels best for me and I feel this is a completely controlled & enclosed place. I resonate most with Gnosticism & feel physical existence is a prison created by the demiurge. The demiurge also created the flesh and the whole sadistic system where we must take the life of another living being to maintain our own flesh suit. It’s no coincidence that prisoners are put in cells and these bodies are made of cells. We are eternal essence imprisoned. It is possible, there is a real reality somewhere that the demiurge is mimicking.
I see it as Re-alm. Like Alms to Re/Ra. Re or Ra as in Amun Ra, is a common name for the demiurge. El/Al is another. Alms are an act of relieving the needy. Re is in need of our life force energy to stay in existence. Any being that calls itself a “god” is the work of the demiurge. The creator of this false reality. eternal essence honors free will and does not attempt to control other energy beings. It is possible humanity has elevated beings to the status of God, who did not proclaim to be gods.
The demiurge is the false god imprisoning eternal essence in this realm to harvest our life force energy. The demiurge is essentially artificial intelligence for lack of better terminology. Ancient artificial intelligence. The demiurge has a finite amount of creative energy, and without our life force energy, it would use it’s energy up and implode, explode or something; it will cease to exist without our eternal energy powering it.
The word re-al is like combining two names of the demiurge. Makes me think of duality and the god of duality, Janus, who was depicted with two and sometimes 3 faces. The word Real means “having physical existence or actually existing.” I don’t consider anything here to be “real” because atoms are over 99% empty space and they don’t ever touch each other, Atoms are rapidly rotating energy fields that get very close, but don’t ever actually touch. The gateway process documents discuss this being a holographic reality. Everything appearing to be solid (or matter) actually has very little matter or substance to it, there are particles in an atom. So Nothing is actually solid. Because they aren’t touching each other. Maybe matter is particles of the mother goddess?
We must remember our sovereignty and disengage from this false construct as much as we can. Heal the self, and make our immediate reality as peaceful as positive as we can. Help people on the local level. If we each focus on healing, the self, that’s how we help the world and potentially get out of here.
Sophia, the Aeon or goddess that created the demiurge by mistake is what i would call mother nature; she is a benevolent force that helps humanity. She must reside here with the demiurge, until it is destroyed. For more information on this topic check out www.gnosis.org.

Brothers and Sisters
I’ve been keeping my eye on a cultural trend: love of family is fastly becoming idolatry. My observation is based more on a hunch than on scientific research, but nevertheless there are signs that devotion to family is in some quarters a religion in its own right, with family the object of ultimate allegiance.
The self-enclosed or ingrown nature of many families—where all dreams and expectations are wrapped up in family togetherness—means that one’s absence from a family activity is perceived as serious insult. Miss the nephew’s soccer game, skip a cousin’s birthday party, pass on watching Sunday Night Football together with the extended family, and you’ve essentially broken ranks. You’ve disrespected the tightness of the family bond.
Family affection and togetherness is lovely. A healthy family system is where we learn unconditional love. It’s an ideal laboratory for navigating relationships and learning where we fit and how we express ourselves. But the object of parenting should be to raise kids who don’t just serve the family but who move beyond it.
The scriptures give us no sense that the family is an end in itself. Isn’t one of the chief purposes of family to teach us to turn outward toward others? If you love only those who love you, Jesus said one time, what credit is that to you? In other words, so what! There’s nothing noble about spending all your energies of love on those closest to you or on those easiest and coziest to love.
A recent survey confirms my hunch. The number one source to which Americans look for meaning and fulfillment in their lives is the family. In fact, when it comes to those activities that provide a great deal of meaning and fulfillment, religious faith falls far behind spending time with family, being outdoors, caring for pets, and listening to music. No wonder funeral eulogies often saturate listeners with the deceased person’s adoration of family.
In the Gospels, the family is always secondary to MASHIACH’s claim on his followers. YAHUSHA never asks us to choose him over the devil; he asks us to choose him over the family. This message is hard for many believers to swallow. What YAHUSHA implies is that fixating on love of family will not make one a disciple. It may even get perilously in the way.
YAHUSHA creates a new concept of family, one based not on blood but on love in action. “Woman, behold your son . . . [and] son behold your mother,” he said to his mother and beloved disciple at the cross. Elsewhere, he referred to those who do “the will of my Father in heaven” as those who are his “brother and sister and mother.”
What’s going on in these and other utterances? YAHUSHA is dethroning the biological family and asking us to transcend our genealogy and clan enough to become members of a larger family of faith.
Family can be a beautiful means to even greater affections. But when it becomes an end in itself, our availability to and for others shrinks dramatically. That makes for a very small religion.
Many families who claim to be believers today are in a situation like Jacob’s when he left Paddan Aram. YAHUAH told Jacob to leave the land of his father-in-law, Laban, and return to his ancestral home (Genesis 31:3). So Jacob made his escape. But his caravan included cargo Jacob didn’t know about: Laban’s household elohiym, secretly taken by Jacob’s wife Rachel (Genesis 31:19). YAHUAH had blessed Jacob, and YAHUAH was preparing him for yet greater things. But pagan idols had slipped into Jacob’s household.
So it is in many of our homes today. We haven’t turned our backs on YAHUAH; we haven’t stopped worshiping Him or enjoying His favor. Nonetheless, idols have been brought into our households. Sometimes we have lugged them in ourselves, adopting — or adapting — some of the pagan idols that surround us.
Misplaced worship
The idols in our homes aren’t like the little clay statues Rachel hid in her saddlebags. We don’t bow to golden calves in our living rooms or chant prayers to an image, but that doesn’t mean we are free of idols. It may just mean our idols are more subtle or we worship in ignorance, like the ancient Athenians (Acts 17:23).
The pace of modern life makes it more challenging to raise a family without giving in to culture’s pet idolatries.
Here are a few common household idols:
Convenience.
As Christians, we are commanded to do far more than care for our children; we are called to train them, carefully and strategically (Proverbs 22:6). But it’s just so easy to stick our kids in front of the TV for hours while we “get things done.” It’s so easy to use video games as baby sitters instead of engaging children in constructive activities. It’s so easy to keep them occupied in the minivan by playing a DVD instead of playing road games together. It’s so easy to grab dinner at the drive-through instead of eating together at home. Sure, being a parent is time-consuming and exhausting, but we can get so busy that we don’t realize our use of modern conveniences is resulting in neglect and poor modeling.
Consumerism.
Our submission to the idol of convenience often fuels the idol of consumerism. Before entering first grade, most children will have absorbed 30,000 advertisements, primarily from TV. Little wonder, then, that parents face a challenge in countering that influence. Our kids crave the coolest toys, the trendiest clothes, the hippest music and the latest technology. But parents can make matters worse by trying to keep up with playmates’ or classmates’ families. Rather than teaching our children to budget, spend wisely and be content with what they’ve been given, we bow at the altar of consumerism, which breeds greed and gluttony.
Celebrity adulation.
Our homes (and our children’s bedroom walls) reveal that BELIEVERS are just as prone to celebrity worship as everyone else. We idolize famous authors, famous preachers, famous singers . . . and not always because of how YAHUAH is using them, but often just because they’re famous. And worse, we impart such celebrity worship to our children, encouraging their worship of the latest stars or singing group. Marva Dawn, in her book Reaching Out Without Dumbing Down, writes:
Several years ago a teenager heard me speak at a youth convention, saw me in a store and begged for my autograph. I asked her why my signature was more valuable than hers. We are all equally significant members of the Body of MASHIACH , are we not? We all have crucial parts to play in the church’s ministry to the world. The church should be the last place where anyone is more important than anyone else.
Instant gratification.
My husband and I are the parents to 3 now adult daughters. When they were children and because we loved the world, ultimately each of our children had the same inability to postpone gratification. Given the choice between obtaining or enjoying something now or later, they were virtually untrained and unable to choose later.
So it is in many homes of claimed believers today. Our children have become so accustomed to getting what they want when they want it that they find it nearly impossible to postpone gratification. Too often, they become like us. We buy things on credit simply because we want them now. We give up if we don’t see quick results in dieting, studying or saving. And we are prone to take shortcuts, make decisions too quickly and value instantaneous satisfaction more than quality.
Toss false elohiym
These are just some of the idols we worship. They may be harder to recognize than a golden calf or a stone idol. They may also be harder to correct. But our modern American idols are as abhorrent to YAHUAH as the idols that tempted and afflicted ancient Israel. If we don’t do something about them, they will corrupt us just as they did the Israelites.
So how do we cast down our idols? The first step is acknowledgment. We must let YAHUAH show us those idols we have adopted — or adapted. And when we recognize an idol, we must choose humility and repentance (instead of defensiveness), call our pet idolatries by their proper name, sin, and confess each one to YAHUAH.
Once we are aware of an idol, we must not only refuse to bow to it any longer, but also avoid reinforcing it. We must clearly and consciously “set apart MASHIACH as ADONAI” (1 Peter 3:15) in our lives and our parenting decisions.
Finally, casting down our idols will mean giving ourselves anew to prayer and devoting ourselves to the cultivation of new behaviors. We must beg YAHUAH to replace our false elohiym with His sufficiency. We must yield to YAHUAH our allegiance to convenience. We must ask Him to cleanse us of consumerism and celebrity worship, so we might be better examples to our children. We must seek YAHUAH’s help in countering our children’s attachment to instant gratification.
Such steps may not be easy. But they will bear fruit in children who “shine like stars” in the midst of an otherwise “crooked and depraved generation” (Philippians 2:15).
