Reasons to watch Heretic (2024):
Hugh Grant.
Hugh Grant meowing.
Hugh Grant moaning.
Hugh Grant doing a jar jar binks impression.
Hugh Grant going on a reddit-coded rant about Creep by Radiohead (average radiohead fan).
Hugh Grant showing his silly little board game collection.
A chaotic ranking of fast food places.
The genius points and debates it brings up about religion.
Phenomenal acting from everyone.
Sick plot twists.
Hugh Grant (again).

ok so i actually like this fic AND its laurels so. more food for my fellow monarchlings!! word count: 1390
Wemmbu watched as Lifesteal’s best PvPers ran. It’s the first time, he thinks, he’s ever seen any of them (okay, maybe he’s seen Minute run from a couple of fights) actively avoiding a fight. To think that the best PvPers he’s ever known are running from a fight? An objectively hilarious concept.
In any other circumstance.
Because the +100 players chasing them weren’t the funniest.
Most passed Wemmbu by, too blinded by their goal to care. Others got a few hits in on him before realizing he wasn’t their target right now. He knows that once they’ve taken out the best, they were probably coming for him next.
So, Wemmbu does what Wemmbu does best!...
Okay, well, the thing Wemmbu does best is, like, destroying people’s lives, physically, emotionally, mentally, spiritually- whatever, but that’s later in the plan. Cross off hacking and exploiting because he’d thoroughly get banned, and Lifesteal needs their people right now more than ever. And explosives while you’re at it, because they don’t exactly have the means. You might be thinking that there isn’t much Wemmbu could do here, right? Not without changing the server’s code, which he was not about to do. And you’d be wrong! Because, minus literally everything else we just listed; Wemmbu has just the skill to help his friends. Being a distraction!
Doesn’t sound the greatest, but they really had no way to fight off 100 players at once- speaking of which, f#ck. They were coming up fast.
Wemmbu quickly threw a wind charge at one of them, throwing them off their path. That gave the person they were chasing- Minute, he thinks?- an extra second to run before they were on his path again. Okay, that’s the reason why this isn’t very high on Wemmbu’s skill list. Whatever- plan B: tunnel it is.
He whipped around, finding the nearest hill and dug into it. See, tunnels were a great way to escape as they were easy to make/easily accessible (unlike chorus fruit, which you can only get after defeating the dragon or by flying machine over the void- whatever-!), easy to find (good for the person you're helping, but also good for the people chasing them), and you could even block them up! And, in a situation like this, that’s all Wemmbu- and Minute- needed.
Really, he didn’t know where he was going, but he stopped until he reached a cave system. Good; you want these- or, something similar- in an escape tunnel. Wemmbu ran back to the start of the hole to get coords, spamming them in Minute’s DMs. He just hoped the other wasn’t too far.. Or dead. That’d probably be worse.
“WEMMBUUU-!” Minute’s panicked voice flooded his senses, but Wemmbu quickly recovered and gestured for him to get over here.
Luckily, Minute listened- or, followed? How would that work- anyways-! All that matters is that now they were both running down the tunnel, Wemmbu blocking their path with the acquired cobblestone. It’d slow the other SMPs down only temporarily, but all they needed was a second to recuperate and properly make a plan if they were going to live to the third day.
They didn’t exactly stop when they reached the cave, but they certainly slowed down. “You good, man?” Wemmbu asked, looking up and down at Minute’s bloodied suit- his blood, Wemmbu realized embarrassingly late. “No major injuries or anything?”
Minute let out a half-meaningful scoff and began walking in front of Wemmbu, letting the other have a good look at his subtle limp. Okay, not good. There definitely had to be a nasty wound there. “So, you’re acting like you care about me?” He shot back, playful accusation in his voice.
Wemmbu rolled his eyes and quickly caught up with the enderian- maybe a bit closer than usual, just so Minute could lean on him if he needed. “I know I’m a great actor and all, but you just got chased by 20 different people- I think I’m allowed to be a little concerned for your wellbeing,” he answered with a scoff.
Minute’s “Okay bro-” was lost in the overwhelming silence that followed. Well, overwhelming for Wemmbu. It’s not exactly fun having watched your best friend get hunted by a pack of bloodthirsty players. As he’d said, he was concerned for Minute. Not as a stupid way to manipulate him like they’d acted out so many times before on different SMPs- actual concern.
“I think my leg might be fractured..” Minute finally spoke up as they got further into the cave, a low, nervous chuckle concluding his sentence.
Wemmbu looked up from his communicator- already messaging the other Lifestealers where they were-, his tail twitching. “You think?” He repeated, tone still slightly concerned. “Because I’ve been watching you limp your way beside me, wondering when you were going to collapse!”
Minute rolled his eyes, a scoff escaping his lips. “Whatever bro, it just- hurts, a lot. Do you think we’re safe to stop here?” He asked, pace already staggering as he wasn’t hiding his limp as badly anymore.
“Yep,” Wemmbu answered immediately, even though he didn’t fully know if that was true. “I already gave the others our coords- hopefully they can come.” He dragged Minute over to the cave wall and leaned him against it, “In the meantime, I’m patching up all of your wounds, okay?”
Again, Minute rolled his eyes, but allowed himself to be propped up. “Don’t make them worse, okay?” He said teasingly. “Unless you, y’know, are gonna betray me again.”
The purple demon laughed, pulling a roll of bandages from his inventory. “Don’t worry, kitten, you’re in good hands.” He wasn’t. Not in a betrayal sense! Void, no. More like Wemmbu barely knows what he’s doing nor has he done it on anybody besides himself before. “Now: shirt, off. I wanna make sure they didn’t fatally wound you, or whatever.”
Minute’s eyebrows raised, but- again- he complied, working on unbuttoning his suit jacket. “I think you just want to see me naked.”
Had the guy not possibly been injured, Wemmbu would have pushed him by his shoulder. Luckily, he was. “That might just be you, dude.” He laughed, unrolling the bandages. “This is gonna be, like, so bad, but it’ll have to do for now..”
Slowly- and surprisingly gently-, Wemmbu started wrapping the bandages around any deep cuts he could see. Fortunately, there weren’t many, but there were still more than he’d ever seen before on Minute. Ideally, he would’ve had alcohol- or even water would have worked- to clean out the dirt and bacteria, but- again- spooky cave with little resources to work with.“How do you even know they’re there?” Minute asked as Wemmbu wrapped the third cut he’d seen, breaking the silence.
It was a good question, considering Minute’s dark indigo-ish, almost black, blood. Wemmbu shrugged, more focused on his task at hand. “I dunno. I’ve fought you long enough to know how to distinguish your blood from your skin, I suppose.”
Again, a silence blanketed their interaction, more comforting than the last. Wemmbu adjusted the bandages until they were snug around Minute, blocking off the bleeding. “Okay, yeah, that should be good enough for now- we should get going.” He said, pulling away and standing up.
Minute shrugged on his dress shirt, throwing his jacket over his shoulder as he too stood up. He leaned more into Wemmbu for support- an action that honestly surprised the demon for a second. “Okay- um-” he checks his communicator, only to see that nobody had actually read his message with their coords- “Okay! So, nobody's coming!” He chirped sarcastically, arm slinking around Minute's shoulders. “We might just have to sneak back to the bliss base by ourselves.”
“Huh..” the enderian hummed thoughtlessly before a smirk tugged at lips. “And, do you know the coords there?”
Wemmbu scoffed, head turning away from Minute to hide his amused smile. “Not in the slightest! Do you, kitten?” He shot back, knowing full well that Minute probably did.
The enderian rolled his eyes, “Of course you don't..” He sighed, pulling out his own communicator and sent the coords to Wemmbu. “They're not far? I don't think so, anyway.”
Wemmbu smiled brightly, humming low with graditude. He tightened his hold around Minute’s shoulders and began to lead the way to the base.

I kind of love how Zutara has two distinct ship dynamics
dynamic 1: “I will save you from the pirates,” enemies-to-lovers, Zuko is dangerous but sexy, bad boy x good girl, morally grey antihero, Dramione vibes etc
dynamic 2: Zuko is an awkward turtleduck, idiots-to-lovers, pining for your best friend, having each other’s backs, thinking she’s the coolest thing since sliced bread, Percabeth vibes etc
We can argue about which is the correct interpretation until the cows come home, but I love that the possibilities exist in the first place. From s1 to post-series headcanons there are such distinct stages in their relationship, and you can basically pick whichever point that appeals to you and run with it. There’s something for everyone. Yet another reason why they’re the best ship y’all

actually i still have thoughts building on my interpretation of the timeline question from this timeline post
two main things. first, what Isabeau says about his Change
Tumblr media
it's a metaphorical death, of course. Isabeau is still alive and did not literally, physically kill himself in order to Change. but even so, the person he "would" have been without that Change is "dead." he's still him, he's always been him, the kid he was is still in there but he's still Isabeau. there is only one timeline.
but, second, it's like. sometimes you remember a turning point in your life—an opportunity you took or didn't take. a coincidence that led to you meeting your best friend, or a choice that led to some of the darkest moments of your life, or a circumstance that you could have never controlled at all that, nevertheless, you can see how it shaped you as you are now, for better or for worse.
and maybe sometimes you are overwhelmed with something about how your life as it is now. and you find yourself mourning, deeply and sincerely, something that never existed. the death of that possibility, that "timeline" where you made a different choice, were born into a different family, had met a different person, had met the same person but at a different time.
would you be happier? would you still be "you"? would it be better if you weren't? would you be better?
there's no way to know. you are you, and have always been you. there is only one timeline.
...but for Loop...they make a choice, and their continuity is cut. they become the circumstances that change how the story plays out. they get to watch, from the outside, the "what if" scenario that would have led them to the happiness they sought.
it doesn't matter if the party or the world "literally" died and were rewritten in the wake of their wish. they are mourning something that never existed—a world where they are the one who is embraced and accepted without hesitation by a party who knows them. the party that could have given them that is dead, the version of themself that could have had that is dead, they are removed from the happy "what-if" even as it plays out before them. the grief and guilt are real even if the deaths are metaphorical.
there is only one timeline, but they can never again be THE Siffrin who loves their party instead of A Siffrin who changed beyond recognition. their choice destroyed something they can never get back. a party who loved them, and not their replacement. they're dead, they're gone, they're replaced with people who only know to turn that love towards someone else who wears their face.
but of course, of course the opportunity for reconnection still exists. no matter what details change, no matter if the party from the Prologue and the party from ISAT are the same exact people or some rewritten version of them, the fundamental cores of them prevail. and they are predisposed towards loving each other. their happiness is still within reach—it will just look different than they had thought.
#mypost#cw sui mention#i guess. metaphorical mostly#isat spoilers#in stars and time spoilers#as i said in the tags of the post i linked. i LIKE exploring the differences between the prologue and isat#and even ramping them up more than what is evident when you actually compare the games#but as far as loop's feelings/how to interpret canon goes--i don't think it makes that much of a difference?#like. Siffrin is going to feel guilty for Bonnie's death Forever. and that 'technically never happened' either#but there was a timeline where it Did#likewise there WAS a timeline where the whole party looked at saapfrin and saw Siffrin#and that party no longer exists.#they never will again. not in the way they used to even after reintroductions are made#it will Always be different#BUT we DO have the prologue game to reference and personally i think there are enough differences to not just say they're identical#even accounting for the House getting progressively more mixed up deeper into the loop count#all this to say like.........i interpret the 'deaths' that Loop talks about as simultaneously real and metaphorical#and not exclusively one or the other#the details are different in the prologue = they legitimately WERE 'different' people to some minute extent#the details reshuffled as a result of loop's wish = the 'death' of the people Loop knew/who knew Loop on a cosmic and metaphorical scale#also i hope none of this comes across as like. confrontational or anything somehow towards the op of that post#genuinely happy to read it and get different insights that made me think more deeply about my own perspective!#god why do i write two posts every time i write a post. a million lines of tag clarifications always#i didn't dwell much on the Isabeau portion but it's like. his choice was deliberate and purposeful and he STILL saw it as a 'death'#of COURSE Loop is going to see this thing they did to OTHER PEOPLE that irrevocably changed the course of their lives#ACCIDENTALLY AND WITHOUT THEIR CONSENT#as 'killing them' in some way. in some ways it's the same as ANY loop reset where they get rewritten#but in others it's so so much bigger than that.#more final than dying and going back to how they were.

Hi hello I love your writing☀️ it’s so wholesome but I got a angsty fic idea for you, if reader hanged out, were friends and even worked with Mr Tinker, I mean shadow wanted to kill Mr tinker even if he wasn’t the evil eggman he knew so what if when was protecting Mr tinker Shadow lunges at Mr tinker but before shadow can fully attack mr tinker Reader forcefully stops shadow and warns him not to attack mr tinker which makes shadow feel a bit hurt but then it turned to a bit of anger as shadow tries to attack mr tinker again but reader steps forwards and blocks him again with a attack which leads to a fight between Reader and shadow
“After Everything He’s Done?!”
Pairing(s): Shadow the Hedgehog x Reader, (Platonic) Mr. Tinker x Reader
Requested: Yes (by an anon).
Description: You thought he would understand. You didn’t want to fight him. But at this point, you might have to.
Notes: So from what little I’ve seen of the IDW comics, Mr. Tinker is Eggman but he lost his memories, and that’s the premise I’m going off of. I hope I do this well and I hope you enjoy!
– – – – – – – – – – – –
People outside the village would call you crazy.
But to the people inside the village?
Eggman was a good person.
You had begun living in this small village only recently, and although you were wary at first, it seems like Eggman truly seemed to have lost his memories.
Seeing Eggman- No, Mr. Tinker, be so nice to you when you were fighting alongside Sonic just months earlier certainly was strange, but Mr. Tinker grew to be one of your closest friends.
So when you heard the townsfolk start to scream in fear, you of course rushed outside, only to see your partner.
Shadow the Hedgehog.
You hadn’t mentioned Mr. Tinker’s existence to him, and it seems like you were right to do so.
Shadow is in front of Mr. Tinker, his fists clenched, as Mr. Tinker is on the ground, shielding himself with his arms.
“Shadow! What are you doing?!” you shout.
Shadow turns to look at you, a bit of surprise in his eyes that only lasts for a moment before his expression switches back to a scowl.
“Taking care of the trash,” Shadow states.
“[Name]! Help!” Mr. Tinker cries out.
Shadow moves to punch him, but you block it, standing in front of Mr. Tinker in a defensive position.
Shadow’s scowl turns to a look of betrayal before immediately switching back.
“[Name]. Get out of my way,” Shadow spats.
“I won’t let you hurt him, Shadow. He’s changed,” you state.
“I said get out of my way.”
“If you want to get to him, you’ll have to go through me.”
“I don’t want to fight you, [Name].”
“You leave me no choice.”
You look at Mr. Tinker, nodding at him. He nods back with a nervous expression, getting up and rushing towards his house.
Shadow teleports in front of him, moving in for a kick, only for you to block it with your arms, grabbing him by the leg and throwing him away from Mr. Tinker, allowing him to get into his house safely.
Shadow lands on his feet where you threw him, a scowl on his face.
“This doesn’t concern you, [Name]. Just let me finish him off.”
“And as I’ve told you, I’m not letting you hurt him.”
Now, you’re nowhere near as strong as Shadow. The only one who’s able to beat him is Sonic, possibly Knuckles.
But you don’t have to beat him.
You just have to convince him.
You internally sigh.
Here goes everything.
