Mha chapter 429 Spoilers! Deku hugging ochaku mirrors exactly ochako's hug when Deku's 'heart' went out of control back all those chapters ago. In both cases, both their hearts were out of control because of someone else. Izuku because of Katsuki and Ochako because of Toga. Again, they're mirrors. They've been mirroring each other for a long time. Izuku knew exactly what to say, because he literally understands. He really does. Now, I absolutely loved the tenderness of the scene. The 'hey, you can let the ugliness out, I'm here, it's okay. You can let it out." Izuku has been dealing with his own closed-off heart for a long time, and we still haven't seen HIM open up properly. I'm not sure how the manga will handle it, IF it will. But it feels like there's something missing, for Izuku's character to round up. I vote for Deku vs Kacchan 3, a reversed of 'The only one that can accept Kacchan's feelings is me'

#johndirk #dirkjohn #homestuck #john egbert #dirk strider #my art #touhoustuck #just a funny little au because some of the parallels and ways character powers reflect eachother is fun #john is in no way as manipulative or a mastermind as yukari but his retcon powers are a very interesting vessel for yukaris gap powers #especially when his hand stuck out in a bunch of pages lol i like to imagine if he could master the powers it would let him do her teleport #around and spy nonsense but he'd just use it to be a class a prankster and for magic tricks #on the other hand yuyuko and dirk have an interesting parallel but one that is more like...the entire point is the culmination of #their characters despite the way they have these splinters. like yuyuko isnt nearly as fragmented as dirk but #theres a distinction between the yuyuko who was alive and the yuyuko whos dead and what she becomes after #its unclear if post PCB shes aware shes the one who sealed the saigyouji ayakashi away but she also just thinks its better for her #not to go down that rabbithole. she'd probably become worse if she did and with dirk he has that clarity with dave when they talk that like #even if there are worse versions of him out there. the fact he thinks and stops before proceeding separates him and i like to think that #is something he takes to heart with him post canon to stop beating himself up so much. umh also soul powers = ghost powers lalala #just silly and self indulgent tbh like im not extrapolating or translating backstories but in this au its fun to think o #humans turning into youkai like yukari used to be human and so did yuyuko. john and dirk used to be human and went godtier...anyways

This came from a randomized AU prompt involving flight attendants and characters meeting in a coffee shop - I went with the main four meeting in an off-brand airport starbucks (plus melody because I have a blorbo agenda here :P), but got thoroughly sidetracked drawing melody + pika as flight attendants haha

(gon & killua meet in the airport and quickly hit it off, but while goofing off they accidentally bowl over leorio who really needed that coffee after 18 hours in transit back to medical school

kurapika is about ready to murder leorio - not for the coffee stain, but because he didn't apologize sincerely enough - but then gon jumps in very politely and says it was his fault and he's very sorry. kurapika decides to let it go :)

some handwavey logic later and they all end up on the same plane. kurapika gives gon and killua extra bags of the little pretzels and nearly kills leorio again for trying to flirt with melody. they all have a feeling it's not the last time they'll cross paths 🙂)
