he’s got to get to know you.

he doesn’t understand how accents work. especially one so … country. that honey dripped, sweet western accent of yours has him confused.

the silly little metaphors fallin’ from your mouth? has him in a whirlwind. the fuck does “save a horse, ride a cowgirl” mean? is that a thing?

a lot of the time, he doesn’t quite get what you’re trying to say to him, but the look on your cute face just has him going along with it. he’ll figure out what you meant eventually.

you’ve never met a man so intimidating before. big and burly build, salt ‘n pepper hair. what a dilf! he’s definitely like.. double your age (little did you know, he’s 2,000 years old) but you find it endearing, in a way.

once the two of you start dating, it’s sweet. he hasn’t had a relationship like this one before. it’s new, it’s fun.

you teach him new things, new phrases that he never says in the right context, and it doesn’t quite flow of the tongue like yours does. but he’s trying!

one time you even dressed him like a true cowboy. clad in straight jeans, some boots and a cute lil hat!

you pull him in by the jean loop and he’s cheesing. dimpled smile. he definitely does that to you every time you wear jeans around him now. he loves it.

but he doesn’t quite like the hats. they’re big, and weird, and uncomfortable and just a pain! whenever he tries to kiss you, he gets hit in the face with the brim of it. he’ll lift it from your head and throw it across the room like a frisbee.

if you have a farm… omg. cutest thing ever seeing him learn how to take care of your sweet little animals. horses, cattle, maybe even some lamb…cutest thing ever.

he gets used to this life. learns the way of a true country man.

he likes the outfits that come with it. besides those fuck ass hats, he’d never like those. but the small little shorts, the tees, and the pretty lil sundresses.

he’d never dress like that though. never in the thousand more years he’s got left.

honestly… i don’t know how the dynamic would work with his super heroism. i don’t think you’d necessarily like the fact, but it’s got its pros. like the things from all over the world he gets you, oh you love that little deet.

but you miss him too much. you’d spend time with your animals so you don’t seem as lonely, but having him there with you, helping feed the chicken and rowdy up all the animals. it was nice! you’d gotten used to it.

when he gets home, he definitely makes it up to you. makes you forget all about why you were upset in the first place.

MARK GRAYSON

mark probably met you through school or some BS. he doesn’t ever go to the western states… so it’s kinda hard to think of a time where you’d meet besides school.

maybe when he was stopping some big bad villain in your area, and had the pleasure of saving little ole’ you!

then when he saw how pretty the girl he was saving was, he tripped on his own feet.

but then it’d have to be long distance… and boy that would suck. finding time between his home life, school life (before he dropped out of college), being a hero, and traveling to see you. it’d be hard.

sooo maybe it’d be easier if you just went to school together. and he got to see you every day, all dressed up and sticking out like a sore thumb (in the best way possible, he thinks.)

just like nolan, the phrases … uhhh they’d boggle his mind. he thinks they’re silly. hearing it from your mouth just makes sense, as if you took the words right from his mind that he hadn’t yet thought of!

if you were to still have some farm animals he would be the BEST helper!!! seriously, he’s so kind to animals. babying them and smiling all kiddish at them. he helps name them, too. his favorites are probably the lambs since they remind him sooo much of you! can u tell i love lambs or if u had a tiny lil bunny. your twin

when he told his friends about you (more like full on ranted) it was a shock. a western sweetheart in their state? crazy. but they see how mark would like someone like you. as sweet as sugar and as pretty as a flower! william was like “wtf?” when mark started his first outburst about you, confused as to how he even met you, but he gets it when he sees you. definitely someone mark would like, he takes note of.

trying to dress mark like a cowboy would take a lotta convincing. “i dunno, i don’t think i’d look good like that..” “oh, trust me, you would! c’mon, darlin’!” he’s blushing profusely as you top him off with your signature hat. he puts his hands on his face and shakes his head. “this is not my best look.” “nonsense!”

he definitely prefers it on you.

he’s like living his best white picket fence dream with you! with the addition of a whole lotta animals that he didn’t quite expect for him, but he loves it even more

the nicknames have him in a chokehold. they fall off your tongue so easily, so quick, takes him a sec to process it. and when he does he does a little lovestruck cheesy smile.

he loooves the bows! you practically put them on everything (especially his biceps, which makes him sport a chub in his pants) they look so pretty in your styled hair!!

the sundresses are his favorite. taking you on a sweet picnic in some flower filled field, hair curled and makeup done. he packs some strawberries, your favorite, and you bring some iced tea that has way too much sweetener in it than need be. he brings you a bouquet even though you’re surrounded by a plethora of flower buds. the frilly dress you have on with your chestnut brown boots. swooning. drooling. obsessed. loves it.

he just loves to constantly bring you flowers. it’s like, one of his favorite things to do in the whole wide world! seeing your dimpled smile and blushed cheeks! as pretty as a doll.

seeing you do one of those funny mechanical bull rides with a cackling laugh has him achingly hard but that’s a discussion for another day.

he’s def the most likely to have a cowgirl girlfriend. i just envision it for him !

I love Thorne so much, I'm always such a fan of characters that amount to "literally just a guy" (bonus points if they're visibly stressed) when it comes to casts of very impressive / important people, and he totally falls into that. My baby girl. My wife. I love him.

Live Thorne reaction is my favorite thing ever, he is doing a wonderful job both running the village and also standing there and looking pretty then reacting with appropriate "h u h ?" reactions every time Remilia declares her newest absolutely batshit insane venture.

The star maiden has secret plans to lock him in a dungeon and turn him into her personal potioneer? Cool! That's going to give him nightmares now! Time to just refuse to unpack that and be glad it didn't happen.

Remilia pulls him in to a meeting with The Demon King to create a steady trade deal between realms, with him as their spokesperson on the villages end? Well he's sweating fucking bullets and feeling very out of place, but this might as well happen.

Anyways I came here to talk about Thorne in Naruto so uhhh

I would fucking LOVE to see him in naruto. Obviously yk, like I mentioned before in my other post ab this, Thorne is a demon! He is a demon from the Demon Realm! He is a demon from the demon realm who helped to build a village mostly from the ground up, yes with Remilia's backing but like-- she was busy fighting gods and preforming miracles across the country side while he did the heavy lifting of day to day village management.

So like. Hey. A demon man with experience and genuine passion in running a village? In fucking Naruto? Instantly, so much potential.

HIM GETTING MAD AB HOW THE VILLAGE IS RUN IS SO FUNNY ACTUALLY. Thorn is crossing his arms tutting disapprovingly as he squints at the different aspects of shinobi and civilian life as they're managed by the rules and regulations of Konoha.

Thorne himself is a civillian, so it'd be interesting to see how he views the systems of Konoha from that lense. Konoha is a shinobi village and Thorne straight up doesn't even know what a shinobi is, so the whole system probably reads as really weird for him from the beginning

ALSO YOUR SO RIGHT AB THE BLOODLINE THING CONFUSING HIM AND THATS SO FUN

The thing is like. Literally who and how is Thorne supposed to figure out that no, none of these guys are demons. Yes, that includes the visibly not human looking people. Yes, some of these people using the title of demon as an insult. No, they are not actual demons.

Thorne is so fucking confused and has little to no real way to actually piece together that everyone around him is human. He could just ask, obviously, but that'd be a weird fucking thing to do and Thorne was raised on a fear of being killed for being what he is.

And even tho he's able to walk around (in his own world) as a Known Demon now, by the time he realizes everyone in this new village thinks he's a fr human-- well, he's already seen some villagers talking about "the demon fox" and throwing things at Naruto for being a so called demon.

So.

He has quite a bit of motivation to be on his fucking tippy toes ab this subject

And obviously yk, it's not like he can just crack open a random book and read out "ah yes, this world is populated by humans, and demons-- known more commonly as yokai, also exist and are seen as proper monsters and are also super rare and just about never take human form" like. What kinda book just reads that

Anyways all of this is to say that Thorne has a proper Situation to figure the fuck out and by the time he even realizes that there is a situation to figure out, he has more than enough reason to be fucking scared of what might happen if he fucks this up

Anyways uhh.

Having fun thinking ab things like seals and talismans and stuff designed to target biiju and spirits also affecting Thorne. Where would Thorne fall, as a proper demon from another world? He isn't quite a spirit, not really, but he certainly isn't anything human.

I think it'd be fun if he registered as some sort of yokai, which also pings him on the radar of the biiju.

Let's go with the hc that yokai used to be super common in the warring states, proper mideval fantasy japan where spirits lurk around every corner and you must always be mindful of your surroundings. But then the biiju were sealed, and suddenly yokai just started disappearing. It's unclear as to why, but popular theories tend to follow the same thought process of "well, the yokai felt the biiju being sealed and fled out of fear"

Now, ~60 years later, yokai are pretty much never seen. They still exist, probably, but pretty much no humans have seen them in decades. Or if they have, it's rare enough occurrences that it's an entire Thing(tm) and either is kept secret or the guy who saw them fucking died

ANYWAYS. ALL OF THAT IS TO SAY UHHH.

Yeah. Yokai Thorne not fully aware that he would be considered a yokai in this world where yokai haven't been seen in decades. Very fun implications.

He absolutely would try to help the biiju separate from their jinchuriki bc he considers the biiju as demons and like. He is also a demon. Demon solidarity.

Thorne is a character whos been proven to love his people. He literally committed his life into trying to just provide for the refuges of his race. When he was given the chance to help create a village for demons, he took to it like a fish to water. He used his own money when they run low, he helped to take care of the children, he really, really cares for his people.

And, well, now the biiju are his people too

Oh also!! I think it's interesting to point out too that Thorne isn't unfamiliar to the idea of moving between worlds/realms; He was a refugee from the demon realm when he was a child, and then came to uhh. Whatever Remilia's world would be called, ig. Is it earth? Idunno

But like, he did that!! He came from another realm!!

Then Remilia herself goes into several pocket dimensions and like, god realms or whatever, so theres that too

Idk I just think it'd be an interesting thing to point out if he gets tossed into Naruto-- it wouldn't be his first time as some sort of refugee from another world, having to adapt to an entirely new world filled with strange people and customs.

erm idk if this is anything of significance but like as for redacted's backstory (which i STILL HAVEN'T FIGURED OUT SOMEHOW) i wanted to include some metaphors or something idk so yap session below

so like i wanted to make something for how like as a teenager their eyes are partially obscured and stuff and i will explain why that is but keep in mind this is super unfinished so there's gonna be a lot of gaps and i'll probably change it a bunch later on

so lore time at some point redacted had a fairly normal family, but stuff happens and their parents are gone, leaving their older sister (who has a name but she's just gonna be the older sister for this post so nobody gets confused) to take care of them both. honestly her life kinda sucks because she's got school, a job, and she has to take care of both herself and her sibling so she kinda starts directing her resentment towards redacted and blaming them for all the stuff that they've been through. she started making all kinds of bad decisions and stuff and eventually she decided to take her life, leaving redacted all alone. as far as where the thing with the partially obscured eyes thing comes in i guess it kinda represents how they were mostly aware of how messed up things were but was pretty oblivious to her suffering until it was too late, and only then did they realize

aaaanyways so by that point they're all alone but they're like 17 so there's not really much they can do because the foster system is bad and they're already like a year away from being on their own and then that's where the skinsuit guy thing comes in because he's an opportunist, so he takes in redacted and then i haven't really decided what happens between that point and wherever the hell redacted is now. so he's just like redacted's toxic/abusive father figure for a while

and so the whole thing behind that is like how now their eyes are fully visible but their mouth is gone so it's like now they've basically fully realized their surroundings and stuff but now they're stuck in this situation and can't speak up about it because there's nowhere else they can go

aaanyway so now with the whole visible mouth and no (visible) eyes thing it's basically since they've more or less forgot everything and they're super oblivious to all the obvious bad stuff that's happening they're right back at square one

One person asked for my plot idea for Wordgirl the Musical and that’s enough people for me so let’s go:

Stuff under the cut because long lol

Opening number basically is just an intro to the all the important characters. Yes the Narrator would be an actual character. Maybe there could be a gag where the actor playing the Narrator would sit in a top box area where you could only see their silhouette. Most of the ensemble consists of fan favorite side characters, like lesser villains and civilians like Reginald.

I said this in the other post but the story would follow a similar structure to SpongeBob the Musical: Same vibe as the og show, but darker themes and tones. Plus a lot of fan service

Ok actual plot time: things are all fine and dandy in Fair City, until Mr Big gets an idea. He wants to somehow recreate the Invasion of the Bunny Lovers plan, but with more backup then last time. He recruits the Coalition of Malice crew (+ Tobey) for the plan, and they agree only because they’re sick of Mr Big betraying them and taking everything over.

Their plan isn’t 100% like IBL, because they’re much more subtle about it so that Wordgirl can’t pick up on anything. Becky talks to Violet and Scoops (because this would take place after Rhyme and Reason) and is like “guys something sus is happening and I can’t tell what.” But because they go to the same school, Tobey overhears Becky’s convo, and later goes to the other villains like “uh guys she knows-.” Malice crew then decides to create another one of those “city turns against Wordgirl” situations so that Wordgirl is distracted.

Wordgirl is stressed because she lowkey knows somethings going on, but pretty much no one is listening to her. She gets extra upset when she overhears her own family (minus TJ obviously) also have doubts about Wordgirl. Bummed, her original plan is to go ‘defeat’ one of the weaker villains so that she could re-earn the trust of the public. In an attempt to find one of these lower tier villains, she stumbles upon pretty much every single Tier 3 (LRW, Whammer, etc) and Mischief Maker villain just chilling in the Coach’s apartment. Wordgirl is immediately confused, until it’s revealed that they’re all chilling together because they all know that Mr Big is up to something, and they’re just waiting for them to inevitably be put under mind control. Once that’s cleared up, Wordgirl is like “uhhh.. I’m here to fight you all! Yeah 🫵🏻” and the villains are all like “Bro really 😑?” Ok, tbh, this part is one of the like three actual song concepts I have. The style of the song would be very a similar style to Will Wood, and the song would be the villains sort of taunting Wordgirl for trying to get heroism points off of them (it’d probably be called something like Bottom of the Barrel)

Anyways after the bullying session, Wordgirl is just fully prepared to give up, and decides to just sulk outside the Coach’s apartment. Some of the villains come outside to be like “Uh- you good?” After a bit of venting, one of the villains brings up how none of them are actually taking this whole ‘party before the inevitable’ thing seriously. While they are deciding to spend their last moments conscious together, they aren’t being too bittersweet about it because they’re pretty confident that Wordgirl is gonna stop Mr Big eventually. Wordgirl tries to deny that she’ll be able to stop him, but then it’s pointed out that she pretty much has a clean win streak. No matter how bad it gets, she always defeats the villains in the end. While Wordgirl is flattered, she does admit she thinks she’s gonna need some help. The villains admit that they don’t really plan on helping at all, because they don’t see the benefit in helping or in sitting out, but LRW, Ms Question, and Whammer do decide to tag along for shits and giggles.

Act 1 closes out with a dramatic song of Becky on her way to try and confront Mr Big, all while everything looks super grim. Things are starting to spiral because it’s obvious some people are already mind controlled, and the Wordgirl hate is getting worse.

Act 2 focuses more on the Coalition and how despite so far being successful in their plan, it’s clear things are falling apart. No one’s communicating and they’re arguing a majority of the time. The focus is overall more on what each villain wants to do with world domination. This act also has the two other song concepts I have: a Tobey song on his relationship with his mom and how it fits in with the current plan, and a Leslie song focusing on how she’s exclusively the sidekick no matter what. By the time Wordgirl’s in the building, there’s already a swarm of mind controlled people in her way trying to get her mind controlled. Wordgirl desperately fights her way to the top of the building, and on the way the villain trio coming with her get caught, and she’s left alone. Whole alone sad trope, but Narrator and Captain Huggyface gives her an encouraging song. Wordgirl confronts some of the villains one on one, and it’s clear the plan isn’t gonna work because of emotional feelings

Coalition crew’s plan falls a part because of how pissed they are at each other. Mr Big tries to take over completely, but Wordgirl cuts in and interrupts. Chaos ensues, and the villains try to fight both Wordgirl and each other to get control of the Mega Mindcontrol machine thing. Mr Big once again nearly manages to take control once again when everyone else is tangled, but in the end, Leslie is the one who betrays Mr Big, breaking the machine and freeing everyone from the mind control.

Plan is foiled, Wordgirl wins. People learn to not over and underestimate each other, bla bla happy ending

Some gags: Exposition guy of course showing up. Captain Huggyface would probably be a plushy, like how Gary in SpongeBob the Musical is a doll on a skateboard. There’s also a running gag that Leslie would absolutely refuse to sing for a solo because stage fright, and even refuses to sing her own mentioned song at first. Her song starts off with a sort of rap-vibe because of how she speaks the lyrics, before Two Brains is like “stop being a pussy,” and zaps her with the singing ray from Two Brain Quartet; cue the trope that she’s a really good singer. Two Brains also has a gag of having really random rays that he pulls seemingly out of nowhere. There’s a gag that they may throw an F-bomb out at anytime, and they tease it the whole show. Either Wordgirl or Leslie get it in the final fight.

The last song will end with the Narrator doing the whole “tune in next time” thing, just tweaked for a musical. The song also ends with everyone singing the ending ‘wordgirl’ jingle played at the end of every episode

How do you think c!Techno would react to somebody crying? I feel like he'd probably be hella awkward, but I'm not sure how he'd go about it, if he'd just let them be, or clumsily attempt to comfort.

Also let's say the somebody in question is a teen (around bench trio's age) he's known for a while, like a few months or something

C!Techno, as established many times, is very susceptible to peer pressure, and one aspect of peer pressure is societal norms which say 'this person is crying, its *your* job to fix it'

Techno learnt 90% of his 'how to comfort' skills from Phil (and the other 10% is a mix of 'oh god oh no improv time' and 'i read this in a book once. probably'), but unfortunately most of the people Phil was comforting in the latest few decades have been his own children, and comforting sobbing small children is a vastly different ball game to comforting a teenager. (If you are an adult crying, Techno isn't even trying. He'll leave you be and maybe come and find you later once the panic is over)

He's adept enough to know that picking them up isn't the best idea, although he could easily do it, as people tend to get offended when you pick them up, so his likely go-tos for stopping the crying is 'present with an object', 'bring water, because one cannot cry and drink at the same time' or 'talk about something random and preferably nonsensical until the crying one is too distracted or confused to cry'

Once the crying has halted, (oh god oh no more improv time), he'll very awkwardly ask if you needed anything, more water, a hug, someone to talk to, and then do his best to deliver. Hugs will be clumsy, since usually the closest he gets to people is either Phil perching on his shoulder or stabbing someone, and he can't promise he'll be able to comfort more than 'there, there, uh, oh god no dont cry again-', or give advice outside 'i can kill them. no? uh- anarchy. that always works', but he'll try

Bearing in mind this is only for someone he knows and is fond of, if you're a stranger, he's minding his own business entirely, because why would he make his own life harder?

On how Futaba views Akechi

A piece of fanon I've noticed that comes up a lot is how supportive Futaba is of anything that involves Akechi. I don't want to go "Oh she just hates him and any interpretation otherwise is WRONG!!>!" or like she'd totally be cool if he randomly waltzed back into their lives.

It's not something that particularly annoys me or anything. It's just something I've noticed and wanted to comment on because I feel like Futaba's character gets overly simplified. I think it's an interesting dynamic that should be explored more! NOTE THIS IS LONG SORRY LMFAO. Also, I should clarify this isn't a ship post. (don't make this weird)

At the beginning:

We all know the infamous "wait why are you telling me about your trauma, this is a wendy's" scene but it gives us our first insight into her perspective.

When he talks about his mother, it's a fairly similar scenario to Futaba's own. So much so that she has her own cut-in looking sad/sympathetic towards him.

But she's still defensive when he asks about the Phantom Thieves' and their popularity by deflecting sarcastically with,

"...You're popular too, Ace Detective Akechi."

They definitely don't start off on the right foot, much like his relationship with pretty much all the Phantom Thieves, for obvious reasons. Although at this point they don't fully know the extent of his suspicious behavior, just that he is generally sus.

During the Casino + Shido Arcs:

Futaba cannot stand Akechi at this point, but as a part of the plan, she has to act naive even though arguably she probably knows the most about all the mechanics of the plan. She does get to mess with him though (making the newbie do stuff, the whole cognitive akechi part of the plan, bugging his phone). Her perspective is probably still similar to the others and it shows how much she was able to improve by being able to face him without cracking at all.

Shido's Arc and Third Semester is when it actually gets interesting though:

Futaba: You know... sometimes I think about that fake Medjed that you guys made up... Futaba: That was the worst trap... but if not for that, I don't think I'd be here right now. Futaba: Uhhh, basically... it doesn't matter where you start over!

This one gets me, I think this line is where her perspective begins to shuffle a bit (and it will be important later). She's trying her best to sympathize with him, as this is before the black mask part of the breakdown, and get him to see that there was some amount of good that came from his actions. It doesn't work, and I kind of think she doesn't really believe it, but they are all trying anything to get him to come to his senses. But I do think she means the part about him starting over, in a "I did it, so could you" kind of way.

And of course this engine room dialogue which is peak (even if it may be an incorrect description of his abilities):

Futaba: But you trusted no one, so you only got two Personas: one for your lies, and one for your hate. Futaba: Still, you thought that was enough, right? That part I totally get.

Okay the first part of the dialogue may not be accurate to how his Personas work but I don't want to talk about that (there's some good posts on that though). But the point isn't being accurate, she's throwing back what he's done in attempt to get through to him. Like this is where you went wrong and here's why I can relate to that. The second line confuses me and I had to sit on it.

One point she makes is that he's operating on his own without teammates (the translation is a bit different), "playing in single player mode." I think this refers to how she thought she could manage her situation on her own, but wasn't able to. Additional note, it could also be referring to the way she attempted to push people out of her life (like how she tries to stop the PTs when they say they need to meet her to change her heart). That she needed the help of the Phantom Thieves (I think, even beyond the change of heart) and those bonds proved her wrong. So even though she initially thought no one needed her and that her life was meaningless, she did something Akechi couldn't conceive of doing, reaching out for help. This is her way of extending a branch even though there's no reason for her to.

When this happens, I think it's pretty clear that there's a strong inner conflict for her when it comes to forgiving Akechi. Even though they reasoned it out by saying they needed him on the team due to Maruki's abilities, she's still trying to look for a better reason to work with him. And she just can't find one. I wouldn't say it's necessarily out of pity, but it shows that she does on some level still feel bad for him. I guess the word I'm looking for is compassion? A thought that comes into my head is that she does want him to start over, just not with the team. If it was only Shido, then it would have been justified, but the circumstances are different here. Knowing that he might be alive changes the way all the thieves interact with him (they aren't trying to get through to him anymore, and some dialogues are just awkward- you can tell no one knows what to say to him now that he's acting 'normal').

A counterpoint to this dialogue would be her dialogue in the engine room and Mementos. She's pretty open to talking to him in these dialogues. In Akechi's section there are some really interesting interactions imo:

Akechi: You may not like working with me, but I'm counting on your assistance until our goal is achieved. Futaba: You better appreciate just how open-minded I am.

The fact they don't play together in Tycoon but they still get Mementos dialogues confuses me a bit but eh. Without Haru and Futaba's approval it's pretty clear the others wouldn't be on board with Akechi on the team. The delivery kind of makes it sound like she's forcing herself to be open minded about it, and that's what the safe room dialogue implies too. She doesn't want to be around him.

Akechi: Do you prefer my previous outfit or this one? Moving around's become much easier for me. Futaba: They both work fine. Just wear whatever you want.

Akechi: You think I'm frightening when I fight? Well, I'm afraid you're just going to have to accept it. Futaba: I was pretty shocked at first, but now I'm used to it.

I think these are pretty clear. She hasn't forgiven him, hell she probably doesn't like him, but she's come to accept him for who he is. But she isn't scared anymore, nor is she trying to reason with him, he just exists.

Conclusion/TLDR: She goes from actively disliking him at the beginning of the story to still disliking him but it's complicated™. She understands what he went through to get to that point, and wanted him (like the others) to face Shido with them. But when it comes to third semester, the circumstances are far different, complicating it further. She doesn't need to forgive him at all, she knows that, but after everything that happened wants to find a reason to forgive him. But she can't. At the very least, she's begrudgingly accepting of his existence, and can deal with it only for the sake of the team. She doesn't hate him, at all, actually, but to say she's okay with him is also a stretch.

I have such a huge crush on her ok. Giggles and twirls my hair. Also I support her shady endeavors go girl get that money!!!! Her design is solid and recognizable and I really like that even though she does good things sometimes she's still someone who works behind the scenes doing illegal shit for money LOL. I also think that her character has a lot of depth even tho a lot of people just see her surface level.

Leon is the main one (only the remake versions + re6) but I can see her getting with Claire or another girl character! To me she's bi with a preference for women but she does what she has to do for her job. Oh and her and Mia <- my fav RE crackship <3

I REALLY REALLY wish that she was the main character of re6. The whole story revolves around her and her attempt to clear her name and gain her autonomy back so WHY ARE THERE SO MANY DISTRACTING AND CONFUSING ARCS. Don't get me wrong I love Chris and the exploration of how his job has affected him and I LOVE Jake and Sherry but it should've been more about her...it was supposed to be her story....(and I could write a whole essay about how her re6 plot is a metaphor for abuse- specifically sexual abuse... but that's a post for another time.) Also I know Capcom is allergic to backstories but please... I want to know what her motivations are! What drove her to the life she lives now! What does she do with her money!

I also wish that she was in re8 </3 they couldn't handle her cuntiness </3

How I feel about this character:

I love Luis, even with how much I see him on my dash i STILL think that he's underappreciated. He has everything a good character has, themes motives etc...

LEON I like to think that if Luis had survived he would have eventually gotten with Leon. I mean they lay it on pretty heavily with Luis' flirting, and they have pretty compatible personalities (when Leon isn't being a dick LOL).

My non-romantic OTP for this character: (This is a more if-he-survived-scenario) I know they didn't really meet much in canon but he's besties with Ashley to me. I like to think that she'd forgive him for his role in umbrella and they would party HARD from time to time. I also think that him and Ada would be friends (as much as Ada can be friends with someone due her her job and everything) and would probably take him to dinner from time to time to bitch about life and try to get information out of him. And Rebecca! I think he would love working with her and think that she's brilliant. Scientist friends forever!

My unpopular opinion about this character:

Not really an unpopular opinion but I'm still 99.99% convinced that he's still alive. Unless something in the RE universe blows up into a million pieces then to me it's still alive. If Wesker can survive THAT Luis can survive anything.

Kinda building on the last question, I would LOVE to see him come back/be alive and work for Rebecca. I would personally like to see him with some mobility aid of some kind due to his spinal injury (like how Buddy at the end of Damnnation has a wheelchair!) ^-^

How I feel about this character:

I like her character! I know they're kinda weird about her with her clothes and Leon, but I like how she's not romantically involved with anyone and her only goal is revenge/help her father/ avenge her father. I know it sucks but it's not often that we get to have a female character who isn't romantically involved with someone/interested in a mc so I think she's really cool! I also love how she's quiet and a badass and I personally hc her as selectively mute (aka situational mutism)

OKAYYYY SO in the blood, doctor who extended universe book, i think it takes place pretty soon after the Silence in the Library arc cos that's mentioned quite a bit, and Donna's husband Lee (who was, i may add, i think going to be canonically trans but they weren't sure how to show that in a split second without it being confusing but he's trans in my heart) from the simulation is on Donna's mind a fair bit so my guess is it's pretty soon after that ANYWAYS, fairly standard doctor who plot, big problem with technology and people on earth and of course it's because Aliens. specifically its that internet trolls are dying and ofc The Internet gets worked up about that, but as more and more people start venting their anger online everyone gets more and more angry and they become hysterical and sometimes die. which obviously is a big problem they have to solve, i won't give away the plot but its fairly average dr who stuff.

BUT. No daily duck art today, working on some suggestions as well as another thing (All Duck related LMAO) but I will share my thoughts this evening! I had a few more thoughts about Aubrey and Duck, and their wonderful sibling relationship. I was planning on having a uhhh- a post about this whole idea but I decided to talk about it a little bit here just about Aubrey and Duck because they make me smile more than I realized. It's very likely that their sibling relationship very much stirs from the fact that Justin and Travis are brothers, but yk. Anyways, I was looking at Taz tiktoks and I saw a cosplay of Duck / some art of the scene were Aubrey asks Duck if she can have the last waffle and he tells her they a'int vegan, it is one of the funniest things in my personal and professional opinion. The idea that even though they've known each other like. I dont remember how long it is, I'm gonna bet like around 2 years at this point and Duck just assumes she's vegan and she's just like, "duck... what????" and is like so confused about it. That is the most sibling thing ever, "I swear to all that's holy you said you were Vegan at SOME point." "Duck, I never said that." And (if you haven't read my other posts this might not make a bunch of sense but yk) the years between the end of Amnesty and when they head to the Amazon, I think Aubrey and Duck spend a LOT of time together. Be it the just hang out with one another, sleep over kinda style, or even going on double dates with Dani and Minerva. I think that they helped each other cope through the grief of Ned passing, and, while it was most definitely hard on Aubrey, I can imagine she took it real fucking hard especially after reading her letter from Ned and realizing that everything wasn't the way she thought it was and also the whole thing with seeing Ned's death? Yeah I'm sure she had a lot in her head, but also I think Duck took a pretty big hit too. We read in the letter that Ned and Duck are old friends and I really believe that losing Ned hurt a lot for Duck. Aubrey was there to help him heal, and even if Ned was gone he had Aubrey, and of course the rest of the lodge, but Aubrey meant and means a lot to him as his family. Again I think she reminds him a lot of his sister and some day he ends up introducing them and they hit it off as besties. But like when he goes to the Amazon, I think he misses Aubrey the absolute most. He misses Mama and Indrid and the rest of the lodge, but being away from Aubrey after all those years is probably a really difficult change for him. I think he gets through it just fine, especially externally, but internally I think he thinks about her a lot. That's all I'm saying.

Nice fella Mike would be itnresting too because with spamton neither susie nor ralsei really knew him so ralsei had an easy time dismissing him as just a corrupted program, meanwhile if Mike is a friendly npc who interacts with the fun gang like any other npc and is only fought as a boss if you pursue his side quest it would mean that if ralsei tried to dismiss him susie would be very quick to go "Hey wtf, Mike was a whole person! He was our friend before he..lost it"

Also I think the concept of a darkner who is resigned to their fate before they realise they can't continue living like that would also shake up ralsei quite a bit

The secret bosses are ultimately a reflection of kris but I think there are definitely opportunities for fucking up with the rest of the fun gang aswell

Also, unrelated microwave Mike is cursed, and idk who came up with it, like how would he fit in with everything else..

Oh man I didn't even really think about how much worse Ralsei's "Uhhh don't worry about it" thing would be if it was about a character that was less out of the way and previously more like "normal npc"-type. (Thinking about that it actually makes me wonder if it would be too much for just chapter 3, but...Whatever!! This is already overly elaborate speculation either way!!!) Also Susie and Ralsei really do have like no context for the NEO fight huh...They don't even see normal Spamton at any point before that.

Also so true on the second paragraph (I almost referred to this as "the ralsei part" even though the first paragraph was also a ralsei part...) I feel like with how Ralsei acted about the NEO fight it's like...I don't want to say he has it coming with regards to "getting shaken up by a secret boss in some manner" because that would be oddly vindictive phrasing but it does seem like the sort of thing that would be an appropriate followup to that specific dialogue. (I kind of feel like he'd probably still be like "Well let's move on and not worry about it" even if he was more directly disturbed by something though...I think that might just be the Ralsei way. Also it would mean less dialogue branches they'd have to program)

Also I think microwave Mike started as a joke upon people observing that there is a microwave in Kris's house...I know I made a joke exactly like that at some point before (I can't remember if it was post-sweepstakes or not) but IDK how seriously people take it. (There were some people that thought the chapter 3 dark world might generally be dreemurr house themed but I think this has been pretty thoroughly disproven by now) I know I saw a fan design of a microwave-based Mike before but I can never figure out how seriously to take those things as predictions or if they're just being silly for fun. I'm going to presume "being silly for fun". Because otherwise I'll be confused.

I've already went over why TK8's story didn't work for Jin, despite the fact it was clearly meant to "fix" him. But since I am in a ranty / analytical mood today, I will go over it to add to the other post lol.

Jin's characterization is actually pretty damn good in TK8. It's the first time, since TK5, that Jin felt like the Jin I love. However... the characterization is where the good ends. The story still messes him up tremendously, if not WORSE... which? How tf can they even ACHIEVE making a bigger mess of the current mess? Especially with proper characterization?

It's what I've been saying since the start of this blog, they should've just retconned it. Like, it's even easier than most would think to retcon it. But they didn't. Dunno why, but they didn't. And it'd be one thing if they didn't retcon it and just had Jin say "I gotta redeem myself!" once, but... the problem is, they keep DOUBLING DOWN on TK6's story. They persistently remind the player about it... except only reminding the player about it on a surface level. Like if you didn't play TK6, or you've forgotten a lot about it - TK8 will literally just make you believe Jin killed all these people for no actual reason other than he was once a Bad Guy kinda like Kazuya. Who, btw, are both irredeemable in this context.

Every time TK6 is brought up in TK8, it's either to tell Jin that he's killed COUNTLESS people and only for Jin to essentially say "shut up!" or "but I'm learning to move on..." as responses. It... uh... doesn't put our main hero in a very good light when he can't even defend himself for these actions. And whenever Jin thinks back to it, he's like "wow I was bad but now I must atone myself!" again, NOTHING actually tells you what he did in TK6 beyond the war, and WHY he did it... you just have no clue about this character's motivations and why he's suddenly good again. And honestly? If you're a longtime player, you're probably still confused about it!

To this day, most people still believe Jin started the war to purely get rid of the devil gene. That is a very incorrect misconception. Getting rid of the devil gene was merely a bonus for Jin. Jin's main goal was to save the world from Azazel, since Azazel suddenly came to him and said "yup I'm destroying the world someday". Then there were just two other goals Jin figured he could do along this main one. The second one being that he theorized there's a possibility that killing Azazel would get rid of the devil gene, considering that Azazel's the origins. (Very flawed logic when you think about it but that's TK6 writing for you). The third reason was that uhhh... he thought he could end corrupt governments????? That was thrown in at the end of TK6, likely something to force his goals to seem Slightly Better.

If TK8 really wanted to present Jin in a better light, they could've... REMINDED US IN THE STORY OF THE GOOD REASONS WHY JIN STARTED THE WAR?? That, according to TK6's writing, it's something he HAD to do, had no other choice?? Or at the very least, they could've mentioned his goals to topple corrupt governments was a success??? But no.

And that's another problem. All of Jin's reasons for stopping the war had failed. Killing Azazel: Failed (at least during the war, he supposedly successfully did it when fighting Kazuya) Destroying the devil gene: Failed. Overthrowing corrupt governments: ????

So that fact that Jin failed every reason he started the war over, it makes him feel very incompetent, and also makes the war feel completely pointless in the first place. That all those people died for no reason at all.

The Tek wiki even does a better job at this by mentioning that Devil did indeed have an influence over Jin.

Which again, also would've helped if Jin wasn't in his right mind. So say, why didn't they.... oh right.

Because the Devil Gene is now no longer a "bad" or "good" thing. It all depends on what the host uses it for, and how they accept it. Devil [Jin] was never bad. In fact, he was only trying to protect Jin the entire time. 🙄 Which means Devil couldn't have influenced Jin to do something Fucked Up lmao. Jin was the idiot boy for not listening to and giving into his devil! Sure, at first glance, this seems sappy and a decent "accept yourself!" story, but it also falls apart when you remember the previous stories. Again, if the devil gene was never that bad to begin with - then it also makes a part of Jin's war pointless (even if, as I said, that wasn't actually a priority of his).

It also goes back to what I was saying about why fans dislike Jin. One of the reasons is because they believe he's "whiny". Which I always disagreed with that. Jin had every reason to hate the devil gene and most of his family. Except... oh wait, these changes do make Jin's haters' take valid. Because if the devil gene really could've been a beneficial factor for Jin, then Jin really was loathing himself, ready to kill himself, hiding from his friends & family... for absolutely nothing. The devil gene wasn't a problem and Jin was absolutely crying over nothing. Again, this makes him feel like a protagonist that just constantly fucks up. And not even an intriguing line of mistakes, but just frustrating. It makes Jin out to be a very bad protagonist, and an even worse "hero" for our story.

So uh... yeah! Even if on surface, TK8 looks like it portrayed Jin well... once you start looking at it critically, really looking into all the changes and choices, you realize it actually made things worse for Jin. Which is just absolutely wild how they managed to pull that off...
