genuinely sam's face in 05x16 when he goes "I can't control this stuff" kills me every fucking time. he's so resigned. he's teary-eyed but it doesn't matter because dean is more upset. he's reliving the night he was disowned. he's reliving the night he really thought he was free.

and he's talking about the fact that he can’t control the memories in heaven but he's also talking about his existence. he can't control the fact that he has powers in the first place, can't control the fact that they're destined to be on either side of the apocalypse, can't control the fact that evil literally chose him.

and he’s trying to make himself look small, with hunched shoulders and hands in his pockets like. AUGH. this got out of hand.

Absolutely the funniest thing about my current corner of tumblr is that pretty much everyone I've recently followed for Apollo-Appreciating Purposes are either genuinely Hellenist or just rather very into Rick Riordan's Trials of Apollo series which is wild because I know a net zero about both of those things.

#I've never been interested in Riordan's work and the Percy Jackson books I did read as a young lad didn't change my mind on that topic #Growing up I preferred a very one or the other method for my greek adaptational content #which essentially means either you're a play or an adaptation of a legit story or myth with recogniseable figures and plotpoints #or you're an original story with mythical elements but the myths and the adaptations and interpretations of those myths is secondary #Percy Jackson did both and it was very disorienting for me because the books were well grounded enough that when I came into contact #with some element I didn't recognise or couldn't remember I myself would get confused and go “Is that true? like really?? :0c”#Then I ran a library book club and Percy Jackson books were p much all the kids wanted to read #but they rejected all of my supplementary greek myth exercises and got a lot of stuff mixed around #because percy jackson does a rather good job of making a convincing argument that it knows its stuff and people will quicker cite that #than do readings of the much more difficult older texts and translations of text #It's not Percy Jackson's fault it's just a bad experience that stuck with me and by extension leaked over into Trials of Apollo when that #was released #Trials of Apollo was crazy because I generally make it my business to consume any and all greek myth interpretational media that bothers #to include Apollo (there is a shockingly low amount of things that do that)#however a LOT of novels especially never let Apollo retain the dignity of a god in their portrayals of him #and have him resemble a teenager more than anything even remotely close to an adult #I had just gotten finished reading a novel adaptation of the story of Coronis and Apollo with this same issue #so when I opened the first volume of ToA and saw that Apollo simply genuinely WAS a teenager #Frankly I just closed the book and put it back on the bookstore shelf and very calmly walked away LMFAO #I have nothing to say about Hellenists and neo hellenists y'all seem like wonderful people and I hope #you have a lovely time with your e-offerings and worship #unless you are my single personal friend with Apollo as your patron #then I wish you 1000 woes and 10000 divine brain blasts #toa #pjo #ginger rambles

On the topic of WCD, I noticed the biggest like difference between the actors of cats and the fandoms interpretation of Deuteronomy Brothers is that Macavity is never the oldest for them. He’s commonly described as the youngest of the three but sometimes the middle. Never the oldest.

my cat who is notoriously uninterested in eating human food, and freakishly content with just having a sniff of whatever i'm eating, has decided that deli chicken slices are the one thing he's going to be feral over.

#SORRY im mad about my stupid college again #WHY do they require so many internhip hours??????#no wait i KNOW why. bc the chef who runs the program is EVIL AND STUPID #he literally thinks he as a chef is gods gift to this earth. he thinks CHEFS are gods gift to this earth but only if they agree with him.#however. gods gift to this earth do NOT deserve breaks. ('chefs dont get breaks' is a direct quote)#he thinks all chefs should work like dogs and SUFFER. and the industry should never change #and he loves the power of being the program head. (and most students' advisor)#and he can say im preparing you to be the best!!!!! and get away with it #and he doesnt respect pastry chefs. and guess what i am hahahah #like i know the culinary industry is toxic and most chefs are jerks. but bakeries are very different from restaurants #so i thought i could handle some jerky chefs during school and get my degree and go work in a bakery #(i can handle some jerky chefs)#the problem was that a jerky chef ran the program as if you were already working in the worst restaurant environment imaginable #and he only taught like everyone wanted to be world renown chefs of 5 star parisian restaurants that take 4 years to get a reservation #(which is crazy that he thinks hes qualified to get other people to that level but ok.)#and thats great for people who want that! but some people (me) just want a cute little bakery!#also ! its advertised as a 2 year associates program #which. is true that you'll only get an associates degree out of it #but 2 years is including summer semesters. sorry i don't think thats how that works. i think thats 3 years #2 years for people who decide to do extra and take summer semesters.#and i think the only realistic way to complete the internship hours is to take an off semester and only do the internship #so you're not doing it at the same time as classes #but that adds a minimum of 1 semester and maximum 2 #or if you cram the spring and fall semesters to have summer off and do the internship during summer #summer semesters are shorter. so youd have less weeks to complete the same amount of hours #it is simply not a 2 year program for the average person!!!!!!#i was IN COLLEGE FOR 2 YEARS!!!!!! AND I ONLY TOOK 1 (ONE) PASTRY CLASS!!!!!! I SHOULD'VE BEEN ABLE TO GRADUATE!!!!!!!!!!!#and what do you MEAN you expect me to be in college for 3 years and only get an associates degree out of it. no thank you #its almost like...... an associates degree requires 2 years of schooling........ and theres too much happening in this program.......#bc the man in charge of it is power hungry and wants to control people and thinks chefs need to be beat into shape.......

#makes visiting home way less stressful #not that he really beat me he did beat my siblings and i had to watch but I don’t have to do that anymore either #he’s still a moody ass sometimes but he’s chilled out immensely #probably on account of no one being that scared of him like they used to be #it was crazy tho it’s like 2 of your 5 kids ran away as soon as they could #and it took a debilitating knee injury to change your behavior only because you HAD to #your children hating you wasn’t reason enough ? lol
