Discotek Media announced today that their blu-ray release of Kodocha series two is now available to pre-order from RightStuf ahead of its May 30th 2023 release date.
If you're into Kodocha you'll probably know that only the first part of the anime series has previously received a US release. For countless English-speaking Kodocha fans the only access they've had to the rest of the anime adaptation has been through raws or extremely messy bootleg subs. Discotek Media will change that with their release of the remaining TV anime episodes on SD blu-ray this year!
There's been a lot of anticipation for this Discotek release as it has been quite some time coming subsequent to their licensing announcement, but anyone familiar with the source material will appreciate the absolutely MAMMOTH job that translating & subbing these episodes would have required on Discotek's part. I know I'm just happy they were able to complete it and put together this release at all.
Unlike the first series, which received an English dub, the second Kodocha anime series blu-ray will only feature English subtitles -- but don't let the absence of a dub put you off too much, the original cast are incredible and if you want to see the characters a little older and in even more challenging situations, you'll definitely get your money's worth out of this release.
As usual, I think an Amazon pre-order link will come in time but Right Stuf offers a solid discount on their pre-orders so if you want to get your hands on this BD set at a decent price then they're probably your best bet.
Edit: For those interested, the first Kodocha blu-ray set from Discotek is still available via Right Stuf and Amazon.

am i the only one who just thinks it’s a little presumptive to assume we’d all want our gifs to look like yours? there are a lot of great photoshop packs out there already. no hate, just saying.
Oh 😃 I honestly hadn’t thought about it like that. I definitely don’t think people want their gifs to look exactly like mine bc what would even be the point. But coloring scenes that are deeply saturated blue/green/or red can be super tricky and I was thinking I could make it easier for people getting into giffing by making some base PSDs to get them started. But I could also try doing a tutorial instead. But like you said I’m sure there already is one

Sora: Warrior Of The Sea
Random Trivia!
Sora & Sora: Future
The manga ran for over 40 years. Meaning, yes, it was around before Law could even read it, and yet was still being written when he was in high school. A second run, acting as a wrap up to many of the incomplete plotlines, was started some 12 years after the original creator's death, taken up by his adopted daughter with her wife acting as the artist. Though the story picked up right where the original manga run had suddenly cut off, it also flashes to some undated time when Sora was much older, earning it the fan nickname "Sora: Future".
The (Non Destroyed) Novelizations
While the main storyline of Sora takes place in the manga, there are four or five - depending on the source - novellas that act as either prequels or simply companions to the main plot. The most well known of which is simply "Sora!" A novelized version of the first three manga arcs, written by his aforementioned daughter and published prior to the 8th arc as a sort of promotional event. Two of the other novels - "Poison: A Study In Pink" and "Blackest Heart: The Story of Santeki Vinreykur" - were written in a similar fashion, though in this case both of them told the events from major arcs through the perspective of Germa 66, with Blackest Heart often considered to be not only the best of the novels but a must read for fans of the White Lake arc.
Then there is the prequel novel, or novels depending on who you ask. You see, while the Sora manga is obviously not based on real events - that would be ridiculous, I mean, have you read them, they are pure fantasy! - there are certain aspects that borrow from real life. For instance, the hero is a marine, and the depiction of the Marines in the manga is largely taken from real life, including the presence of characters from outside the North such as Vice Admiral Umiko (Calm Belt) and her assistant (West blue) as well as Daichi (East Blue) due to the location of a major naval school in the North. Also, you know, a kingdom of evil technological mercenaries on an island that moved around the sea. Who, for whatever reason, seem to take issue with certain depictions of their kingdom in the manga (in general, they saw the fear instilled in Northern youth by the work to be a good thing, but every now and again the anonymous author who published the comics appeared to cross an unknown line and when Germa took issue with something, they made their displeasure very, very clear).
The first prequel, "The BoX Of Pandora" was widely panned as an unnecessary money grab from the author's estate; it was written between when the Sora comics had stopped being produced and the future manga. It took a true fan to appreciate the work and how it informed Pandora's character (quote Trafalgar Law every single time the issue came up). The story itself is the first Sora property to be female dominated, centering around Pandora's childhood, her becoming a pirate, and her eventual rise to being named a Titan (a title somewhat between to shichibukai and yonko but only within the North Blue). The other novel was written about Daichi and is something between a prequel and retelling, in that the climax of the novel retells the story of Sora first stealing the raid suit from Germa 66, but leading up to that is mostly new material exploring Daichi first arriving to North Blue and his time at the naval academy, meeting Sora as well as Doctor Hart (at the time still merely a marine doctor) and how these friendships would end up shaping him and the path he took after academy.
If you are wondering why there is no title it's because, well, anything sold under the original title simply doesn't exist anymore. Who can say which part of the book set off Germa 66: was it information about their base revealed during Sora's breakin that was absent from the manga but strangely detailed in the novelization or the multiple discussions of the raid suits abilities including having certain elements explored by more scientifically minded characters such as when Dr. Hart is allowed to inspect what he is told are scraps of a shot down Germa drone - to inspect the life support capabilities of the suit. It could have been something as meaningless as when Stealth Black allows Daichi to go in one of the later chapters, with the narration heavily implying this is due not so much to his inherent mercy (though that is a trait we have seen Stealth Black/Santeki show many times and that Germa has taken some issue with in the past) but more his.... Interest in Daichi (no, it all but right out states that if Daichi were not as attractive and likable as he was, he would be dead). Then again, it could be something as small as when it's revealed that outside of the North Germa's name holds no power. It's impossible to tell with a group like Germa, but regardless of the cause, the first printing of the book went nowhere, due in large part to the explosion of multiple publishing houses. These days, the only way to acquire a copy is on the black market, and you always run the risk of buying one of the many falsified editions that people have put out over the years.
(Law despises the people that would put out what is basically fanfiction, getting true fans hopes up by claiming it to be actual copies of the original Daichi novel. He has also read 8 different versions of the book.)
Sora! Panto!
Every year, around the start of winter, North Blue holds a big celebration. Other blues see it as a sort of holiday before their big hibernation, mistakenly believing that in the past, Northerns simply SLEPT the entire winter, since certain areas of the North barely even see sunlight for those months. That's pure nonsense, of course, Northerns simply respect nature and the power it has over their lives. Or at least they used to, way back when, and from those days the celebration of Yule Eve came with a whole feast of different celebrations of festivities. One of which is the art of the pantomime.
While Sora: Warrior of the Sea is comparatively rather new, that hasn't stopped people from incorporating the sea wide famous manga into various forms of entertainment. The first adaptation of Sora ever created was not, as many believe, of the Saturday morning cartoon - and don't make the mistake of implying this around Law, not unless you are ready for a four hour lecture on the history of Sora and North Blue culture - but was a den den radio play called "Sora of the North Sea" and simply due down to the production company and the actors who worked there, the part of Daichi was played by a female actor (though the character was still male). For whatever reason, this carried over to the stage, where it became something of a popular meme to have Poison Pink played by a younger male cast member, while Daichi was played by a woman.
In fact, in his first year on the cast, Zoro was invited by his best friend/rival to a Northern pantomime based on Sora. Kuina, a fellow stunt actor who had recently had a small burst of fame in the North as one of the few performers able to properly pull off Santoryu (well she better be able to after beating Zoro so much when they were younger, right!) Being cast in a few minor action movie roles and subsequently asked to perform in a major panto product of Sora where she was cast as Daichi.
Zoro isn't sure he got it. Kuina was awesome, no doubt, though most of the sword work was pretty cheap and uninspired. Still, she did some amazing flips, stage dives, even some cool wire work in a scene where she had to jump into the sea to save Sora. He was just confused why everyone seemed so amused whenever they made it obvious she was a girl. They obviously knew that when they cast her, what was the big deal? He also didn't quite understand why the actor who played Sora kept giving Kuina these LOOKS. The audience found it hilarious but Zoro just didn't get it. What he did take from the play was that he was never kissing Perona. NEVER.
Northern culture is weird sometimes.
[Edit: Apologies to @devilfruitsaladfordinner who wanted Sora content and instead of anything, like, decent gets this random one off about how most Daichi's wear skirts.]

it constantly boggles me how fans of a show about logical reasoning and deduction often fail to apply those skills to their analysis of the show
(yes this is a deduction post, I do have some ~advice~ at the end)
~
Anderson is the one who mentions "rache."
Anderson is a dick to Sherlock, and Sherlock dislikes him - this is the First Episode and those sorts of character relationships need to be established.
Sherlock does not actually think that "obviously the word in blood is not German for revenge, it's the name rachel" - since he literally considers the German possibility first:
The "obviously" is what Sherlock outwardly portrays to others, specifically Anderson - the scene is of course a nod to the original (while switching it up a bit because that's what adaptations are meant to do) but the scene is also part of a larger plot/episode, and it helps establish the sort of relationship Sherlock and Anderson have. His dismissal of the idea is intentional and who he is dismissing is also intentional for purposes beyond being a nod to the original.
So like, someone might be able to come to the conclusion "bbc sherlock was focused on one upping and not showing love to the original" but not using this scene as an example.
~
If you look at OP's thoughts as a sort of "deduction" about the show/the intents of the writers, we can note a few deduction lessons here:
1. Don't look at something in a vacumn; think about the wider context surrounding something.
Immediate context: Who is Sherlock speaking to? What is going on inside Sherlock's head surrounding his actual dialogue? (since in this show we often have access to that! use everything you have access to with deductions)
How to apply to real life deduction: look at where someone is, who someone is talking to, etc.
You can go further too - the wider context here is this is a TV show: a specific structure that needs to be followed - characters need to be established, conflict needs to happen, etc. (thus it making sense to conclude that Sherlock was written to react that way to Anderson specifically in order to establish that character relationship)
How to apply to real life deduction: the wider context would be like, what country/city is the person in, what is their culture, what is their life like beyond the instance you're observing?
2. Don't jump to conclusions (or jump to throw evidence at a conclusion). Tread carefully!
Sometimes, you might have a potential deduction, based on a few pieces of evidence, but not quite enough information to be sure. So, you look for other evidence (observations, etc.) that could support that deduction.
I don't recommend making that a habit, but if you're doing that, make sure you review the evidence carefully before using it to support your deduction!
Because here, if OP had considered the context of the scene more, OP would have realized that the scene does not support the conclusion.

decided Fuck It We Ball, and now I'm putting together Lore Bits important to The Forsaken Exile, so here we are after way too long of trying to find the names of them. if you even care:
—
Post-Red War private celebration - Short and sweet, making fun of Cayde! Important to those characters in particular—Zavala, Cayde, Ikora, and Wolf. Common point of reference in memory lane-type thought spirals.
The Young Wolf's Howl and its promise - Obviously. A promise Wolf still carries, and one Saladin believes them to now either be delusional for or mocking him with by continuing to carry it, especially after murdering Lakshmi.
Aunor accuses/suggests the Guardian could've lied about Cayde's death - The interaction itself is non-canon to Exile, but the initial viewpoint of Wolf on Aunor's side stands very strong, and very wide-spread. The guilt on Ikora's side stands as well.
The Sundial - Always good lore, but specifically the end part of Osiris and Drifter's conversation. That interaction is the context to the Drifter short (or, A Questionably Fortunate Encounter).
Drifter's hallucinations from The Nine - Aids in understanding why, shortly before Beyond Light, Drifter hints to Elsie that there's Something Wrong, and it might be worthwhile to teach Wolf how to control Stasis. While not entirely certain, he recognized the signs of someone trying to ignore whatever they were seeing or feeling, and connected the dots.
Important because of Prime Brainrot:
"For Fear of the Conquering Hero" - Actually the name of another page in the same lore book, but thought I'd shove it out here too. As Cayde is still alive in Exile, it's not wholly canon. Honestly not sure of its level of canon at all, as I've no idea what to do with Shin in TFE. But this specific lore page ("A Fire Inside") always makes my brain scream, so have it. Quite honestly, the entire lorebook screams at me, but this one and "Echoes Followed By Silence" in particular.

just remembered what I think is probably my favorite dnd moment I’ve had to date. in my curse of strahd campaign, we had just left ravenloft after having dinner with strahd, and escher followed us out into the woods. as we were talking to him, falkon showed up. immediately I sense a ~vibe~, so I asked to do an insight check. I rolled really poorly and as my dm started to tell me I wasn’t sure what was going on I was like “wait okay the reason I asked is because I’m trying to figure out if they’re in love with each other. do I get advantage because I’m gay?” fully expecting her to say no. but to my dismay she said yes, so I rolled again. and got a nat 20. they were indeed gay. gaydar so powerful god granted me advantage and a crit success

Jeremy Adams' favorite dc comic characters (from before he was a comic writer) are apparently Babs, the Birds of Prey, Tim, Hal, John and Bruce
Honestly this was not what I was expecting at all. I knew he wasn't really a Flash fan when he started out and I knew he was a Batman fanboy but apparently Babs is one of his all time favs and I am pleasantly surprised. A certain kind of person has Bruce as their favorite hero. A different kind of person ranks Babs above Bruce. I'm glad that Adams is apparently in the latter category.
Also the GL's are great. I was not expecting that. Adams generally seems to like more down to earth heroes (ironic) so Hal and John being on there was outta left field for me.

[ Category: The Promised Land ]
| There we go, the old sport himself.... Y'know,,, the guy who runs the organisation to not only get goods sent around the Promised Land and help his family owned business going, but to also keep the peace and all that shit... His family has been best buddies with the Royal family of the Golden Palace after all for generations, so he's in good hands if ever they are swamped with work or are being threatened...!
Takeshi is a pretty stoic kinda guy, takes his work seriously, and definitely takes his relationships of all kinds seriously as well! If anybody goes out of line or breaks his trust, not only will he shut you out; But you'll be exiled, punished and potentially snuffed out... But he's needn't do that since nobody has personally nor professionally stooped that low to him.... Yet
He's a very reliable and trustworthy fellow, and despite how intimidating he looks to many; He's someone who is definitely worthy having in your life.. Hardworking, competent, surprisingly very comforting! He's a saint compared to his family's shady history...!!
.. And he must be a really cool guy, Tammy is dating him and they plan of getting married someday!
☆ ☆ ☆ ☆ ☆ ☆ ☆ ☆ ☆
INFO
Name: Takeshi
Species: Ice Elf (Origin Kind)
General Personality: Serious, independent, hardworking, trustworthy, protective, actually very welcoming, quite stubborn, strong
Height: 9ft "2"
Relationship Status: In a relationship
Extra Info:
Takeshi took over the Frostclaw Traders organisation after his father's passing when he was 18; The organisation was actually something incredibly different before his grandfather took over and completely re-did everything from the ground to what it was known as previously.. Which used to be a cult of sacrifice, blood, greed and all now frowned upon by the newer generations while what had happened prior was approved of by the acenstors of both the Golden Palace and Frostclaw. Takeshi wishes to keep to what the organisation means nowadays; Trades, peace and a very well fed supply of resources all around the Promised Land
Despite being just a mere Ice Elf, Takeshi and his late family were of a "pure breed" which are actually referred to as "Frost Folk", the Ice Elves themselves just seemed to have "dwindled" ever so slightly and "softened" their physical attributes through the years whilst Takeshi himself remained of his origins. The only vital differences is that their skin appears more pale and could potentially glisten like icicles in the sunlight, their eyes pale with sharp white pupils and fanged teeth like vampires (minus the blood sucking). The Origin diet mainly consists of ice and herbal teas as they cannot process meats or heavy foods; Diet practically being mostly of liquid or things that can melt easily on the tongue
He actually wields two blades, and carries a small dagger that was passed down from his mother on his 10th birthday; He never uses the dagger however keeps is as a good luck charm. The dual blades were passed from his father a week before his father's passing years ago
He's 31 years old and appears to have been that age for the past decade; Unknown to this anomaly, he fears something that the indescribable horrors his ancestors has committed have punished him, cursed to become immortal as he watches his loved ones slip away.. Either that or he has lost track of time, thus losing track of his age, not even Tammy knows how old he potentially could be
Usually he and his partner tends to take turns when it comes to business, Tammy deals with the papers, the contracts and phone calls while Takeshi focuses more on the meetings, the agreements and engagements to keep the organisation going at a steady pace; Although it is joked around by his girlfriend that he cannot sit still in a phone call and listen to the other "unintelligible imbecile" on the other side, and also he needs reading glasses so he doesn't accidentally agree to something he "refuses to acknowledge" or "accept"
He's quite stubborn, even though he cannot deny it, his own parents, although had not outright acted on inherently "evil activities" by the standards of their ancestors, but his father specifically had to agree to certain "distasteful procedures" just to keep the Frostclaw Traders alive up to now; Takeshi personally believes his parents, most specifically his father, were saints when they were alive. A part of him is still a child at heart when he's naive about his family and their actions
Takeshi runs and leads the main branch of the Frostclaw Traders organisation within the Glacier Mountains of the Promised Land, which is also the main hometown for the Ice Elves, however that isn't to say he does not have other branches opened out within the realm itself to make his business efficient. Almost every corner within the Promised Land has Frostclaw services, ranging from stock, resources, even a couple small postal services; He has no doubt hired and even promoted most of his members of his business to run and manage the other branches (with helps of the civilizations within the regions). It is also thanks to King Aurelius that Takeshi is able to expand this business thoroughly to keep the realm in well managed conditions
Although not directly, he did have a bad couple of run ins with a few of Kira's henchmen when they tried to infiltrate the hometown of the Ice Elves to steal some valuables and other "secret documents and treasures" for whatever purposes, though being quite the fighter and his defences are, they scared them off successfully without too much lost
Ice Elves bleed a teal blue, however Takeshi being of the Origin era; his is a luminous blue and (believe it or not) has a gold shimmer.. So if you see a pretty luminous blue "paint" with a gold shinmer, that isn't paint that's Frost Folk blood
+ + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + +
But uhm.. Yeah, s'pose that's about it for him- The main guy who runs the business, maintaining it while keeping his people happy, comfortable and safe from the threats of the opposing sides. Although not as directly involved or connected with the threat of the Deceit and their goal, the Frostclaw's alliance is with the Golden Palace, so Takeshi and his people are prone to be harassed or threatened.. Not like that'll stop him from continuing on with his family run business and trying to make this strange realm a safe place to live..
Takeshi, obviously like the others, was also a former Yiga OC of mine before I changed them up entirely! And funnily enough in the BotW era where I had them be part of the Yiga clan, Takeshi originally was gonna be like the next leader after Master Kohga retires and lets him take over before I made them all into their own thing.. Takeshi hasn't really changed personality-wise since he's always been a hardworking and independent person, but leading a business along with those close to him makes it very easy to get the job done, even if he is potentially cursed to become an immortal being who's been punished for his ancestors sick and twisted endeavours.. (Or is his fear of living alone is making him succimb to his paranoia)... But uhm.. Yeah!
Believe I only really have a few former Yiga OCs who are in need of re-purposing entirely before I'm actually done with the basics for them, and then after that I'll have to go back to sorting out my Zareans species and other non related OCs..
Still loads to do but oh well-

Margaret had been through more abrupt changes of fortune than this, and she adapted quickly. The king and queen were responsible for Mary's humiliation, but Margaret seems to have forgiven them both. She was delighted to be in Anne's circle and Henry, in turn, was delighted with her. At the New Year's celebrations in 1534 she gave him a gift and he called her to him so that he could give her a piece of plate in person. Before long Margaret was a fixture of the court, 'beautiful and highly esteemed.'

Lodovka is taken from canon, it’s one of the families of brevoy but it falls into that trap of using Russian (or I suppose it could be polish) names but not following the naming conventions
Like it should be Lodovki or Lodovkin (? I think would be the best way to masculinize it in Russian)
