thank you everyone for complaining about essek.... I don't hate him but he's just so nothing to me and the way the fandom latched onto him (and the cast a little bit) was one of the reasons I never watched the end of c2. I understand his appeal as a character concept I guess but onscreen he was never that compelling to me and the stuff he did gets brushed off so hard in comparison to the critiques of every little thing the main characters (coughs in veth stan) do/did which is rly annoying both ways

same to me in ways yea, he's very nothing to me outside of when he's being like, horrific and lying. like thats a compelling scary villain to me, telling on himself via framing others, asking tmn to find something when he knows exactly who has it and how dangerous it is to get it. thats good characterisation i like that a lot. its sinister in a fun way and feels like it could have a rly good cathartic betrayal. but when he's a weepy little uwu sarcastic soft sad boy it does absolutely nothing for me. thats just not a character type i enjoy. i dont care abt gated neighbourhood rich boy tears. tmn are much more compelling and charming despite and bc of their flaws to me . i litrally love them . like cad and beau u are my one and only

Crying because today is supposed to be my birthday and I spent a lot of time with my family and friends celebrating it to the point I ended up almost forgetting to take care of my needs? ASNNSDDNF I think it's mainly because I haven't make it a habit yet, after all it takes at least a month to make something a habit. Other than that, emotionally I started feeling a little sad? I think it's because I wasn't celebrating my birthday with as much loved ones as I was last year. Mostly because of things that happened along the year that made me and my friends drifted apart. Idk, I think part of me is also saddened by a friend of mine that didn't give me a gift for my birthday? It's not really about the gift really because they did ask me what do I want and I said "i don't really know." I was more saddened at how they didn't seem to put in much effort into trying to celebrate my birthday? I've always gifted them things they like on theirs and try my best to spend a lot of time with them. But for me, it just feels like any other day and they dropped the question without giving me anything after I said idk what I want. Idk, maybe I'm just not seeing things in their pov and they're just a clueless dummy. They did tell me before how they've never rly gifted gifts to their loved ones other than me. And they've always just gift gifts randomly rather than on a special day. So idk, maybe I'm just not feeling well emotionally and this just clouded my judgement of them ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

But looking at the more positive side, I have my family who's always there. No matter how much I might have disappointed them, they're still here for me. So honestly, that's good enough for me, even if it feels bittersweet.

So as you can probably see, I added a few headcanon things!

The most obvious thing of course being a little chip out of his ear because lets be honest, he's taken a LOT of beatings and there's no way there wouldn't be some physical scars remaining. I like to imagine thats something he'd be self-concious about - a stain on his otherwise perfect appearance and a painful reminder of his multiple failures 🥺🥺🥺

Next, the lil tooth sticking out! A classic thing to add to most designs, and I think it especially fits him 💖💖💖 One thing I rly love abt his design OG is his sharp teeth so I wanted to keep it visible, plus I imagine his bottom canines (is that what its called on chimps? Idk) being the longest of his teeth, which is definitely a detail I'll be adding when I eventually draw that dashing smile of his 💖💖💖

These next 2 things are both aesthetic so I'll cover them in one go, but I wanted to give him a thicker outline around his eyes cuz the "PPGs Rule!!!" special episode did that to him and I thought it was good lookin 💖💖💖 I also added a bit more fur sticking in around his face cuz again, its something I love about him. I bet his fur is so soft, I wanna touch it....

Even tho this isn't a headcanon thing, I still wanna touch upon it; when it comes to the way his ears were drawn in early vs later seasons, there seem to be a lot of opinions about it in the fandom 😅 Personally, I kinda like both, BUT I think it looks even better as a blend of both!! Not perfectly rounded, but also not rigid and sharp. I feel like I found a nice middle ground tbh uwu

All in all this was so fucking fun and I am so proud of what I was able to do on my FIRST TIME no less, so definitely expect more from me in the future!!!! 🥺💖🥺💖🥺💖🥺💖🥺💖

ngl it's getting rly annoying seeing people say "remake of x game!" constantly. people are so obsessed with the idea of remakes lately. they don't wonder what the next new game will be like. they just want remakes (including in franchises that don't do those often. not every franchise is Tales, where they've been doing remakes actively throughout its lifespan and not just during this Uwu Remake Era).

with FE, remakes make me a bit eh bc they've all sold poorly or just barely made a profit. Marth's games' remakes on top of the failed Tellius sales almost sent FE into its grave. SoV is just... there. it happened and the fandom moved on, save for the Alm and Celica alts in Heroes.

but like, it was so annoying watching VA interviews and just seeing the word "remake" thrown around so much from the chat. people want "remakes" of games that just don't need them. updated ports is one thing, but entire remakes?

there's more to FE than remakes, but it's all people seem to talk about. I'd like Tellius ports as much as the next girl for people's accessibility (and specifically bc IS' lack of marketing destroyed those games' sales and now they're so rare they're super expensive), but a remake? it's not necessary. even with quality of life features added, those games only need ports. I play them very regularly and frankly have way more fun with them than I do with modern day Menu Emblem.

also, I don't want the fandom wank carrying over into remakes of games that never even had wank. the biggest wank Tellius ever had was the Ike vs Micaiah wars in the fandom, which were not only a fraction of what happens now post Fodlan games but also weren't anywhere near as aggressive.

idk I'm just tired of remake this, remake that. it's also because of the rampant remakes in the industry that I'm tired of it, but it's also tiring to see it constantly in this fandom. I'm glad that FE7 is coming back, but as a port on the Switch and still as a GBA game. FE4? super glad it came back as a port (JP eShop only). remakes though? too tired of the concept (especially when FE remakes have not only almost killed the franchise from lack of sales but were otherwise just mediocre and moved on from pretty quickly). I was browsing through your blog and wanted to say all of your vol 3/general gotg comments have been delightful. It's given me so much to think about and also helped me process some of my own thoughts/concerns/questions. It's also awesome people have felt safe to get a little more personal about the different aspects of representation in all of this and that's been both fun and eye opening and even a much needed learning experience.

Also I especially was intrigued by your comments around Gamora and Natasha and how they have been treated when it comes to similarities and differences. Not sure if you would be up for it but I would love to read even a short write up or breakdown from you about even just 2 or 3 things you think vol 3 could have done better when handling both Gamora's death and 2014 Gamora's role and something you think both Natasha and Gamora could have used/deserved story wise in IW/EG after they died.

And ooh I love that question! As far as vol 3 goes, I think the most general thing that could’ve been done - and I would say this could go for the holiday special too - is just incorporating grieving gamora into each character’s arc more. The ways peter would talk to 2014!gamora abt how things used to be - it would’ve been nice to see the other characters make the occasional comment abt their own individual friendships with gamora or calling back to specific moments from vol 1/2. Showing gamora that peter isn’t the only one who misses the “future” her or whatever, which could be both an opportunity for more conflict between gamora and the rest of the team at the beginning of vol 3 and as well as an opportunity for gamora to get to know the team better and maybe even warm up to them more over time.

I do still generally like how starmora was handled as well, but I think it would’ve been interesting to see more of how Peter feels abt not being able to keep his promise of killing gamora before thanos did. Like him talking to 2014!gamora abt it or something. Like I’ve said before, I think the mcu has acted generally uwu and evasive of rly considering the deeper impact and significance behind the manner in which gamora died so it would’ve been nice for someone to at least acknowledge the horror of it in vol 3 in some way

Definitely what nat and gamora needed in iw/eg after their deaths more than anything was just a goddamn funeral like Tony got 🤬 tho it also would’ve been cool to see gamora and nat meet in the soul world in eg after nat’s death. I also think it would’ve been nice if they could’ve been given some agency and been able to help from “inside” the soul stone or something during the final battle
