2. What cartoons did you relate to growing up?

Funnily enough, I haven’t been huge on cartoons, and I struggle to remember a lot of the ones I did watch. But I do remember that the ones I loved the most had to do with words/reading, (lame, I know). So less so that I related, but just adored them. I’d say Between the Lions and Word World were huge for me. (I remember one time taking the effort to cut out the letters for “book” from paper and trying to shove them together to get them to work like in the show).

I think I can put Cyberchase and Dragon Tales as honorary mentions too because those were so so fun.

23. Something obscure you know how to do?

Uhhhhhhh I feel much too boring to know how to do something obscure, jdjsks, but looking around my room, I see a paper crown I made, and I’m reminded that I’m quite good at sewing through paper. That’s obscure, yeah??? (I don’t know, I’m sorry 😬)

25. What time is it and what is something you are thinking about?

It’s 7PM and I’ve just finished a book (Graceling by Kristin Cashore) and deciding what to rate it/how I felt about it. It was good, but not amazing, I’m somewhere between 3.25-3.75 stars.

If there's an asoiaf afterlife, I can imagine poor Ned looking down and being so shocked to see Alysanne hatch dragons and his son being crowned the King 😭😭😭 (or even Robert, he would be livid to see the 'dragonspawn' fly on real dragons)

Poor Ned can't find a moment of peace even in death. His eldest son is given a crown and forced to fight a war which may bring their doom, his foster daughter accidentally performs ancient blood magic by walking into the burning funeral pyre of her sworn sword/pseudo father in a maybe-suicide attempt (jury is still out up where Ned is) and wakes THREE dragons from stone, his eldest daughter is rescued from King's Landing by his hostage who she now insists on marrying, and his youngest daughter is married to the returned from the dead Aegon Targaryen, who up until now Ned thought had been murdered. His other son is gay and in love with the bastard of Cersei and Jaime and his 10 year old son is acting Lord of Winterfell. Oh also his nephew-son is married to the Princess of Dorne and rides a dragon and will return to live out his days in the same land Ned carried him and his mother's bones from. All very normal.

Robert can't decide if he's more angry at the return of Targaryens or that he was cucked and has no legitimate children of his own. One brother died at the hand of the other, who is now missing after a humiliating defeat. Common Baratheon W. Also he has no wine in the afterlife.

3. I feel like it's not even a true rivalry team wise but the tkachuk bowl always intrigues me. like everybody on the ice getting a misconduct is just gold. so yeah, i think i do have to say the panthers / senators rivalry even if the only reason is those idiot boys

4. my least favourite team is always vegas, probably for the same reasons everyone else has but more specifically because i will never forget that they hurt matthew so badly (do i wish i was a little more normal about it? maybe! but i'm not)

9. whatever matthew tkachuk and sam bennett have going on has to be a bromance i love. though they go beyond the realm of just bromance with how deeply they talk about one another, they intrigue me a lot. and also probably anything sid has going on with anyone, what he and MAF have is very special to me

25. ooh favourite rookie is a good one and the first person to come to my mind isn't even a rookie anymore, he's just a baby. i do think luke hughes has done very well for himself this season which i always like to see! and i am a hater at my core and i think ridly greig is a funny guy purely for his slapshot into the empty net which caused so much drama which still makes me laugh a lot

kallias would need to hear (and be shown) that they are loved and deserve love, dread to hear that they're just like their mother, and like to hear literally any compliment, but especially that they're a very good and strong capable person.

galen would need to hear that they should have more faith in others and also that they're not a monster, dread to hear and be reminded of all the people they've hurt in the past, and like to hear that the way they've decorated the clinic is cozy or that the flowers are beautiful

So I was scrolling through Athena's tag, and I was just wondering what her relationship with Seven is

Seven is Athena's fiance!

They shared several classes of their highschool senior year together and did not get along at all. She was a snippy teenager under a lot of stress and pretty bitter towards the kids who barely tried, Seven was a very edgy try hard loner who hated putting in effort didn't get along with her because she worked so hard at school and acted like she was better than him.

They got paired together for projects more than once and just bickered the entire time.

Luna had to deal with hours of Athena complaining about the dumb emo guy who wouldn't try at all, and Seven complained to his friends about the stuck up teachers pet girl who criticized him too much.

They parted ways after graduation and we're both glad to be rid of each other.

They accidentally ran into each other at a cafe in an entirely different part of the state in their mid twenties, and we're both really surprised at how the other person had grown.

Athena was better at having and enjoying conversation, friendly, less condescending as a whole, noticeably happily, less stressed, and far more confident as a person. She was an author

Seven wasn't so hellbent on being an edgy loner. He wasn't irritating or rude, and he wasn't an intentional slacker like he used to be. He was friendly too, and startlingly polite and apologetic. He was a mortician.

They were both equally shocked. Not just by how different they both were, but how well they were getting along, they ended up exchanging contact info and more or less forgetting about the event.

Until Athena accidentally implied she wasn't single to some coworkers. (At the time, she was publishing books but nothing sustainable yet, so she had an office job) and ended up keeping the lie to avoid intrusive coworkers. Until she slipped and said yes, she was bringing him to the holiday party. She panicked and called Seven who laughed and agreed to with her.

They ended up having a really good time, pulling the wool over her coworkers eyes.

She said she owed him, he asked if he could maybe grab dinner with her when not pretending they were in an ongoing long-term relationship in front of the people she worked with.

She said yes, and the relationship blossomed from there.

Several years later, he asked a different she ended up saying yes to ;)

Hello and absolutely!

Esmera's favorite hobby is also her job, woodworking. She finds it fun, making all these pretty bows, staffs, and other stuff. It's just too bad she doesn't have the money for paint(expensive in this world) so she can't decorate them more than just putting simple carvings of different plants/animals on them.

Jökull's favorite hobby is reading, he loves knowledge, but his favorite types of books are fictional. He'll read, and read, and read until his heart gives out. He also loves to write as well, while he might not be as good at telling a fable as a bard, he'll write down ideas for stories, and he dreams of being a published author one day.

Izosul's favorite hobby is performing they just love performing. Singing and dancing on stage while they play their lute, hearing the cheer of the crowd, being the center of attention but in a positive way, what could be better?

Vraefnael's favorite hobby is sitting in the trees and staring at the sky. She's always been so free, just being able to do whatever she wants, but looking at the sky is calming to her. It helps her think in a way, of what she wants, what she needs, and whatever the silly little crystal is that she took from the, as she calls it, small civilization.

Of course these will all grow and change with them throughout the story, but as of right now, these are all of their favorite hobbies.

💭 + favorite pieces of clothing

HMMMMMM okay i have to break this down into categories bc jiwon is such a clothes person, if that makes sense?? also answering these for his main verse! \o/

tops: there is a very specific medium wash denim jacket that i’m picturing right now, with a handful of cute little buttons and badges like ‘bee kind today!’ (shaped like a bee of course) or chubby cartoon ducks... it’s well-worn but still cosy and warm, doesn’t feel too heavy for spring nor too light for autumn. goes well with any outfit!

bottoms: any trusty pair of ripped skinnies! but the rips have to be in very specific places or he’ll strategically make them himself because he doesn’t want his surgery scars showing :’(

shoes: he once got a pair of YSL lug-sole oxfords from one of his tutoring students for christmas (in that they just kinda happened to give it to him during christmas while they were cleaning out their wardrobe) and jiwon loooves wearing these on special occasions. they’re his special shoes that make him feel confident and expensive !! he also has a pair of pastel rainbow high-top nikes that he worked very, very hard to buy for himself!

accessories: okay wait this one’s kind of hard because jiwon wears so many accessories 😬 he’s always got some kind of earrings, stackable rings on at least 3 fingers of each hand, dainty chain necklaces... his absolute fav would probably be this set of hair clips he has?? they came in a set and they’re all fruit-themed, so he’ll pick one that best matches his outfit. 🍓🍒🍉🥑🍋

You've mentioned her mom would send her to a convent if she cursed or smoked, and their dynamic in the flashes of interactions we see is super intriguing

Yes I absolutely can! Just to get things out of the way — Daisy’s mother is named Irene Clarke and her father is named Donald, so for the sake of simplicity we will be referring to them as Irene and Don just to make things easier.

Daisy comes from a home where traditional values and modern worldview have been kind of mixed. What I mean by this is that her parents wanted her to be a well-educated young woman, while maintaining Christian values. So no smoking, no drinking, premarital sex is ABSOLUTELY off the table, etc etc. However yes, we will support your dreams of going to nursing school, we’re so proud of your achievements, and we want you to be happy. She loves them both a lot.

A little bit of background here is that Irene and Don got together before WWI, Don was sent to Europe to fight upon the U.S entering WWI, and when he came home, they got married and had James and Daisy a bit after that. Keep that in mind. The Clarke family is sort of meant to represent the All-American family, at least on the outside. They’re very picturesque, when Daisy talks about them to people she knows, that’s the impression they get.

Irene is a stay-at-home-mom. She’s religious, soft-spoken, emotional at times, but very very empathetic. She gets overcome when it comes to the topic of war — she didn’t think Don was going to come home honestly. She and Daisy were very close because Irene was always at home taking care of the house. Daisy worries about her mother a lot, that much is very very evident. Irene wouldn’t literally send Daisy to become a nun for smoking or cursing but she would express a lot of disapproval/disappointment for it. Soap bar in the mouth, that kind of thing.

Sometimes Daisy felt like she had to be the strong one for the two of them, sometimes being the only daughter meant taking care of the parents. Irene showed up when it counted, but is far from a perfect parent. Sometimes she pushed too hard, sometimes arguments between them never went resolved and they just sort of buried it. But Irene took her to every ballet practice, she kissed her goodnight until Daisy didn’t need to be tucked in anymore. They’re close as mother and daughter can be.

Now Don is the family breadwinner. I don’t have a specific job for him but I always imagined he works in sales or insurance — a proper 9-5. She’s the spitting image of him, she’s got her father’s dark eyes and wavy dark hair, his dimples, etc. But Don wasn’t… around as often. He worked hard, brought home money and tried to be present when he was home. But he’s a veteran. And sometimes when you’re playing with your kids, you may get that look in your eye, or you might think you see the enemy in that tree in your backyard. Fourth of Julys are hard to enjoy when Dad can’t watch the fireworks.

He’s protective because that’s his little girl, his only girl, and that protectiveness was instilled into James too. He’s less strict on her because Irene has that covered. When she was a kid she used to dance on his shoes, he’d pick her up for the tree topper. There’s a distance between them now that she’s away. He disapproved at first and had to warm up to the idea. She was going to leave regardless of his approval; sometimes she wonders if he ever truly approved, or if he was just surrendering.

Her relationships with her parents are, ultimately, complicated. Because parents aren’t perfect, and you can love them while also acknowledging that they made mistakes— that Daisy has and still is reconciling with her own traumas of growing up in an environment where it wasn’t … The Best but also one where they really did try to do right by her.

DP x DC: The Most Dangerous Card Game

Ok so Danny has essentially claimed earth as his. And he is fully aware that there are constant threats to the planet. Now he can’t stop a threat that originates on earth (that’s something he’ll leave to the Justice league) but he can do something about outside threats. Doing some research on ancient spells, rituals, and artifacts, he cast a world wide barrier on the planet to protect it from hostile threats so they cannot enter. This will prevent another Pariah Dark incident. However, barriers like this come at a price. You see, there are two ways to make a barrier. Either make one powered up by your own energy and power (which would be constantly draining) or set up a barrier with rules. The way magic works is that nothing can be absolutely indestructible. It must have a weakness. The most powerful barriers weren’t the ones reinforced with layer after layer of protective charms and buffed up with power. Those could eventually be destroyed either by being overpowered, wearing them down, or by cutting off the original power source. No, the most powerful barriers were the ones with a deliberate weakness. A barrier indestructible except for one spot. A cage that can only be opened from the outside. Or that can only be passed with a key or by solving a riddle. So Danny chooses this type of barrier and does the necessary ritual and pours in enough power to make it. And he adds his condition for anyone to enter. 

Now the Justice league? Find out about the barrier when Trigon attempts to attack, they were preparing after he threatened what he would do once he got to earth. How he would destroy them. The Justice league tried to take the fight to him first but were utterly destroyed, so they retreated home to tend to their injuries, and fortify earth for one. Last. Stand. Only when Trigon makes his big entrance…he’s stopped.

The Justice league watch in awe as this thin see-through barrier with beautiful green swirls and speckled white lights like stars apears blocking Trigon and his army’s advance. The barrier looks so thin and fragile yet no matter how hard the warlord hits, none of his attacks can get through and neither can he damage said barrier. That’s when Constantine and Zatanna recognizes what this barrier is. Something only a powerful entity could create. For a moment, the league is filled with hope that Trigon can’t get through yet Constantine also explains that it’s not impenetrable. And clearly Trigon knows this too for he calls out a challenge. 

And that’s when, in a flash of light, a tiny glowing teenager appears. He looked absolutly minuscule compared to Trigon and yet practically glowed with power (this isn’t a King Danny AU though).

And that is when the conditions for passing the barrier are revealed. And the Justice realize that the only thing stopping Trigon and his army from decimating earth. The only way he can get through….is by beating this glowing teenager in a card game. 

Not just any card game though. The most convoluted game Sam, Danny, and Tucker invented themselves. It’s like the infinite realms version of magic the gathering, combined with Pokémon, and chess. And Danny is the master. So sit down Trigon and let’s play.

(The most intense card game of the Justice league’s life).

After Danny wins, this happens a few more times with outer word beings and possibly even demons attempting to invade earth, yet none have been able to beat the mysterious teenager in a card game. Constantine might even take a crack at it and try to figure out how to play. He’s really bad though. Every time this happens, the Justice league worry that this might be the time the teenager looses. Yet every time, he wins (even if only barely). 

Meanwhile, Danny, Sam, and Tucker have gotten addicted to the game and play it almost daily. Some teachers might seem them playing the game are are like ‘awww how cute’ not realizing this game is literally saving the world. Jazz is just happy they aren’t spending as much time on their screens playing Doomed.

Anyone else up thinking about Ratio's big, strong, secure arms and how warm and all-consuming they could be in a hug or embrace. :/ Anyway

I just wanted to draw them being cute and seizing a sliver of a moment where they could have some PDA silly time without actually having any eyes on them. They're public figures and working adults with very clear boundaries between public persona and private life (to varying degrees of "in a sad way"), so while it may be in Aventurine's nature to constantly blur lines for various agendas and self-preservation (read: play "the flirt" without an aligned goal), I believe that in an actual relationship they'd be fairly private.

It's kind of fun to break your own rules, though! Ratio would be more upset about the consequences, though. He's a little bit of a hypocrite, which is devastating for someone of such discipline, but nobody's perfect.

I'm of the mentality of, "If you're tired of working on it, then just post it!", so here are some fun peripherals that I didn't feel like adding:

Some staff in the background sweeping up to evoke a blended sense of fragile privacy and liminal time.

A laptop on the aquarium/bar/counter because there's something fascinating about seeing people on their work laptops in public.

Thank you! It's such a small thing but the little highlight at the tip of their noses is actually one of my favorite details to draw ´v`

It doesn't do anything per se (besides making their snouts look a bit moist I guess) but it's usually the last thing I add when drawing their faces and it's such a satisfying final touch.
