- It took some time before you were able to get out of your restraints. After all, you are the family’s captor, they can’t just have you running out of the house now.

- It took an ungodly amount of time before the family put their trust in you and removed your restraints. And to their surprise, you didn’t even try to run away.

- In fact, you could always be found following Thomas around like a lost puppy. It was truly a sight to behold. Luda Mae and a few of her friends that she’d invite over for tea would always make jokes about you falling head over heels for the boy whilst his uncle was less than impressed and would always proceed to make fun of Thomas and his condition.

• Thomas isn’t stupid. He knows how much of a scumbag Charlie is, but it’s mainly because of how much you voice on how you don’t feel safe around him, so Thomas protective over you and whenever you feel uncomfortable, you know to come running to him where you can be safe.

• Also… Thomas doesn’t know how to slow dance and while you’re not the best teacher because of your lack of experience, it didn’t make things any less special when you tried to show him the basics.

- It was a very special moment in Thomas’ book, one that he’ll cherish forever, especially when you decided to rest your head on his chest where you could his heart race.

Vincent Sinclair

It’s his fault, he should have killed the girl the second she was in the chair, but he didn’t and now she and her brother were running loose around the town. oh geez man. i had to pause yugioh to talk about this. bear with me on this one lads, i'm fighting off a fever

(add in: I wrote this like a fucking month ago but mobile refused to let me edit the post so I had to come on web and that took like eighteen spoons for some god awful reason so. Here go)

So, the great thing about Werewolf!Thomas is that there are so many ways to interpret it.

It all depends on how you view werewolves: Do they only shift on a full moon? Do they have any control over it? Do they have any control during the change? Can they do it on command? Is it driven by emotions? Do they have any werewolf features outside of their wolf form? Do they experience heats/ruts? Do they mate with A/B/O rules? Do they have their own? It's just so much!

Which is great! I love AU's that leave so much open space, and I feel like the slasher community severely lacks any serious AU's.

So, here's what I'll do. For this post, I'll set up a particular form of WW!Thomas. I'll set answers for the questions above (and maybe a few more) and give a brief description on him. Then I'll talk about my HCs, how it'd affect his character, upbringing, etc, etc.

I"ll also add in another loop and tell y'all to send in asks about other forms of WW!Thomas! Change it up, mix 'em around, and ask me about him! It's an AU, damnit, let's have some fun with it!

So, just as a fair warning, this particular version is going to lean less towards the traditional werewolf and more towards my own, because... Well I don't really have a reason, I just want to. Leave me and my feverish brain alone.

Now to begin by answering some basics about WW!Thomas and how his particular case of lycanthropy functions.

In my particular AU, Thomas has a few werewolf features outside of his wolf form. His teeth are noticeably sharper than normal, and his nails are dark and naturally sharp. His ears, while in normal human placement, are pointed, and twitch in response to various things. He has a big, fluffy brown tail, and he's just a bit hairier all around.

During a partial shift these aspects just sort of increase; e.g. His teeth are threateningly sharper, his nails are bigger and harder, his ears become a little fluffy and more canine in appearance, and his tail become bigger and sort of gains a mind of its own.

During a full shift, his fur is dark brown, wild and curly, and oh, so fluffy. If it wasn't for all the large, sharp teeth and pointy claws he'd be nothing more than a giant, fluffy, St. Bernard. He still has his facial scars and is also missing his nose in his wolf form, so his sense of smell, unlike most werewolves, is significantly weaker. For the actual build, he's just like a typical werewolf form. Unless he's on all fours, then he could have a chance of passing as a strange breed of... something. Something big.

There is an urge to shift on a full moon, and no matter what he'll experience a partial shift, but he can resist shifting completely on a full moon, he's just more irritable and snappy when he does. It's easier just to let it happen and get through the night. He can also shift in other ways as well.

For one, he shifts with extreme emotions. Anytime he feels threatened, scared, or angry, he's much more likely to experience a full shift, but he can experience partial shifts from being excited or happy or really just any 'big' emotion. He spent a lot of time working on controlling his shifting, so honestly it takes a lot to really corner him into an unwilling full shift.

Despite this, however, he can't just shift on command. He's a pretty anxious guy, so most of the time if he tries to shift with no real rhyme or reason he ends up psyching himself out of it all together.

The state of his consciousness during a full shift really depends on what made him shift in the first place.

If it's a voluntary, full moon shift, he's present and aware, if a little clouded by the transformation, and most of the time during regular full moon shifts, he's rather docile and peaceful. He's a bit more excitable, but there's no danger with being around him during this time.

If the shift is involuntary however, i.e. brought on by being cornered with big, negative emotions, it's a different story.

If he shifts out of fear, or feeling threatened in some way, he's much less present during this time, sort of stuck in a panic state, but as long as you're not what set him off, it's pretty easy to coax him back. Careful words and soft affection will help him calm down and shift back.

If he shifts out of anger, or protectiveness, i.e. someone threatens someone in his family, it's much, much worse.

Thomas is a very calm, albeit anxious man. He has his fair share of anger issues, but it mostly stems from other people's mistreatment of he and his family, in other words, it's more of a righteous, justifiable anger. It's just as easy to stay on his good side as it is to get on his bad side, but it takes a lot of the bad to really make him snap.

All that to say that it takes a lot to force this man to shift out of anger. I mean you have to go to the low of the low. I'm talking hurt/kill someone he cares about in front of him levels. It's not an easy feat.

And if you do manage to pull it off... Well, let's just say I hope God has more mercy on your soul than Thomas does.

He's completely blacked out during this, there's not a single ounce of him present at this time, nor is there any possible way to pull him out of it. The best thing you can do is just let it happen, and if possible, lock him in the basement until it's over. It may sound harsh, but no one is safe when he's actually snapped.

Now that we've covered the basics, we can move onto some general headcanons for him.

♡ For one, he sheds. A lot. He's an overgrown dog living in Texas, there's really no way to avoid it. He's great to have around during the winter months, but when spring starts to shift to summer he's gonna lose that winter coat- everywhere.

♡ He hates being treated like a dog, he's still a person and he won't take kindly to being treated like a mutt. Especially after the Hewitts begin their rampage- he was put down his entire life, he won't take it anymore. i.e. he HATES the word mutt

♡ During any sort of voluntary or positive shift, he's really just a big teddy bear. Due to the fact that he has to work during the day, and shift during the risen full moons at night, he's pretty exhausted and just wants to sleep.

♡ While his mask does also double as a muzzle, he hates wearing one. It's a requirement for his job, and since he prefers wearing a mask while he's in his human form, wearing it isn't an issue at all, but the insinuation behind a muzzle insults him.

♡ He wore a collar when he was a child because he had a lot less control and people would often have to bring him back home to the Hewitts after he'd run off to play during a shift.

♡ He tends to spend most of his full moon shifts alone in the basement, which the Hewitts sort of made his 'wolf' room after adopting him, so he has a place to go when he shifts, or in the extremely unlikely event he snaps, they can lock him in so he's safe from himself and others. He still has his regular bedroom upstairs he uses most of the time.

♡ A full shifts tends to rip and shred his clothes (a very expensive and/or time consuming repair) so when he knows it's going to happen he just strips down to a too big pair of boxers, which, seeing a werewolf in barely fitting boxers is an absolute sight. So there's that. It's not an issue since he's normally alone in the basement, any sort of surprise or involuntary shift just absolutely obliterates his clothing.

I can't really think of anymore headcanons at the moment, so I'll just go ahead and dive into the backstory and how this would affect his upbringing.

So, for one, we need to establish more ground rules before we begin. Is Thomas the only creature lurking the night or is this a normal in the universe? If it's a one off, was he born this way, or did it happen in some freak accident later in life?

Well, if he was the only one born with it then the Hewitts would have kept him safely locked away in the house his entire life, save he be burned at the stake. So he'd be much more isolated and feral than he already is and he'd probably really only be 'freed' once the Hewitts begin killing people and the town is abandoned.

If it was some freak accident he'd be much more feral and, if this is before the town all fled, he'd be locked away or burned at the stake. Notice the reoccurring theme?

So, we'll go ahead and place him in a creature universe and say he was born with it, just to give him fair fighting ground.

So, in this universe of creatures, werewolves aren't the only monsters, but they are very powerful ones. Which, unlike some people might think, would bode against Thomas rather than turn in his favor.

Due to his skin condition and feeble health from a young age, most people just assume the Hewitts took mercy in their adoption because Thomas' biological parents abandoned him in shame, even though this AU will follow the original storyline of the movie.

See, it's particularly interesting to apply this filter over the idea of the original movie, because in the original movie, Thomas is shamed and shunned because people believe him to be a monster, but in this AU, monsters are normal. Now you've got the lesser monsters viewing him as dangerous, and the other bigger monsters viewing him as something lesser.

But it's still the same principle, so honestly I don't think there'd be too many differences in his character and personality.

There's a few changes, sure, but it's things like, he hates being treated like a dog, or being called a mutt, and instead of just calling him names and treating him like a freak, they force him to wear a muzzle because 'you never know when he might snap'. Nothing that fundamentally changes his character or behaviors.

As for romantic relationships, I think it's pretty much the same sort of deal. Nothings really changed so much as there's just a few new things to consider.

Before I list a few things about this, here's a preface.

Thomas, no matter what, sort of has that 'forever mate' mentality. He doesn't believe in the sort of 'modern' dating of today. There's no brief talking period and jumping straight into a relationship until it gets serious and then dipping. It's a long, long time of a platonic relationship, and once you start 'dating'- that's it. He's in it for life. You're his one forever. So, it's not really fair to be like "oh he's a wolf he mates for life" because he already does. So I won't be really defining if there's any way to 'permanently' claim a partner in this- that's up to y'all! Decide whatever your little heart desires. I just believe his character already has the mentality for it so there's no reason to add something like that in.

Ok, onto the headcanons!

♡ He normally prefers shifting alone but he begins enjoying having you around for it, and gets a little disappointed when you can't/don't.

♡ Even in a relationship he doesn't like being treated like a dog/called a mutt, even in a joking tone. It's a big No-No.

♡ He's very clingy and possessive and prefers sleeping dog pile style (i.e. one of you on top of the other)

♡ I already believe that Thomas loves having his hair played with, but I think wolf!Thomas has a particular appreciation for when you start stretching his scalp

♡ Thomas (while he has a weaker sense of smell for a wolf) has a great sense of smell for a human, and if you come home smelling like someone else (especially another wolf) he tends to get irritable (though he tries to hide his frustration) whether it was intentional or not

Even if his S/O was extraordinarily skilled at throwing an ax, he would still be scared for their safety.

But don't get me wrong, he would be amazed at your skill.

It would be a hot texas afternoon when he saw you first show your skill.

The both of you had gone out to collect some wood for Luda Mae's wood stove and you decided to tag along with Tommy and offered to carry the chopping axe he would use for splitting the larger trunks after he cut them down with his chainsaw.

He would be a bit wary of you holding the axe but wouldn’t 'voice' his concerns. Only watched you to make sure nothing happened.

He'd be a bit confused when he caught sight of you inspecting the axe, turning it over, and checking how heavy it was. He'd be even more surprised when you'd comment how "It's got a nice weight" and "it might need to be sharpened soon"

But what really caught him off guard? When the both of you sat down under a small shade to rest after having pilled up all the wood, you pointed at an annoyingly noisy cicada that was on a tree trunk a few feet in front of your spot on the ground and told him "I bet I can hit it from here"

He'd given a rumbly chuckle and motioned you to go ahead and try.

But instead of throwing a rock like he thought you would, you reached for the axe next to him and threw it at the tree, sticking the axe on your target and making the cicada past tense 🧍🏻‍♀️

He'd sit stunned for a few seconds before snapping out of it when he'd see you cheering and saying how you still "got it".

If you expressed enough interest, he would go as far as to make your own small throwing range and make targets out of wood slabs. (Using his own chainsaw-wielding skills for something else)

He'd also go out of his way to find an axe fit for his S/O's liking.

Also, it would bring him a bit piece of mind knowing that they’re equipped to defend themselves in case a 'trespasser' attacks them.

And such was demonstrated when one tried to escape and his s/o used their axe to stop him. Yea, let's just say he stopped in his tracks to lay face down and closely check out the grass 👀

Best be assured Hoyt will ask you to help 'deal' with trespassers more often after that.

Overall, Tommy would support his s/o's love for axe throwing ❤️

This big sweetheart would be the least concerned out of the slashers.

He'd be pretty chill about his s/o having a gift in the ax-throwing arts.

He'd be the most amazed as well.

Quite frankly, he'd be more concerned for the safety of his brothers

Why you may ask?

Well because the first time he saw his S/O's great skill was during a quite rowdy family dinner.

It all began when Nubbins thought it was a good time for show and tell, and emptied out his never-ending sack/bag of trinkets right on the table. Various items spilled out and some even fell off the table. But the most noticeable? A mother freaking hatchet.

"Where the damn hell did ya' get that?!" Drayton would ask.

Nubbins would then inform you all how he got it from some guy who was 'passing by' and was now unalive outside the property.

This was new information for the rest of the household.

The older Sawyer would rise in anger and begin yelling at his brothers, including Bubba, about how they failed to inform him of this and even began to get physical by throwing food at them.

But you being you, were quick to defend your hubby and state how he also didn’t know. Thus creating more chaos during dinner.

One thing leads to another, and before Drayton could hit Bubba with his stick, you reach for the hatchet on the table and aim at the piece of wood in his hand and throw it. Successfully cutting it in half, just above his fingers.

The brothers would all freeze and then slowly turn in sync to look at the axe stuck in the wall and then back at your fuming figure.

Drayton would stare at his intact hand like👁👄👁

He would then calm down and Bubba would just stare at you in awe. Happy that you'd stand up for him but also astounded at your aim.

Since then, it wasn’t uncommon to see you walk around with the hatchet in a makeshift holster at your side.

The oldest Sawyers would be more careful with what they say to your dear Bubba when you're around, in fear of angering you and earning themselves an ax to the face.

Bubba would frequently point at random objects or spots and ask for you to throw the axe and hit them. Sometimes as a way to playfully 'test' your aim.

He would celebrate your bullseyes with you and would even carry you and spin you around. So cute.

You would also accompany him more often to deal with the 'passerby’s'

If you offered to teach him or even play a small game he would be a bit hesitant at first, scared that he would end up hurting you.

But would then ease in after much reassurance.

In conclusion, Bubba would even go as far as to encourage his s/o's love for axe throwing ❤️

Now this man,

THIS Man would be the most concerned out of the three.

In the beginning, he wouldn’t even let his s/o near any of his own weapons in fear that they might get hurt.

if he could, I bet he would go as far as to baby-proof the whole cabin. THE WOODS!

So how does his S/O achieve using their skill?

After countless of begging and nagging of course.

You'd have to convince this man and reassure him that you won't get hurt.

This would take months 🧍🏻‍♀️

But eventually, he would break.

At first, you'd have to agree to only use an axe under his supervision.

Surprisingly, he would let you choose any of the many types of axes he has in storage,'left behind' by campers 👁, as long as it wasn’t to heavy or something, you didn’t pay attention to what he was signing because you were to busy checking out all the cool axes.

You chose a dope ass tomahawk

There would be a designated throwing range/area for you designed and approved by him.

He would mark targets on trees and hang objects for you to hit.

He would also make you wear gear that campers 'left behind'👁

Gloves,steel-toed boots, and even a climbing helmet wtf

But you'd go along with it as long as you got to throw a darn axe

When you finally, FINALLY, get to throw an axe, he's sweating bullets and all worried.

But you throw that thing like there's no tomorrow and hit the furthest away target dead in the center.

He just stands there like 🧍🏻‍♀️

After a couple of throws and bullseyes, he becomes a bit less worried, JUST A BIT. He still all mother hen on ya.

After a while, he would let up and let you throw without having on more protection that the pope's security team.

Aaaaand eventually without him watching over you like a hawk.

But what really loosens him up was when you'd use your skill on a trespassing camper.

One had been tougher than expected and fought back, bodyslamming into Jason and gaining the upper hand.

The camper was about to stab Jason with his own machete,

but dearest oh dearest,

you chopped that mofos hand (unlike with Drayton) with one clean throw before he could hurt your man.

The stunned silence that came out of our Jason was louder than his usual silence.

After that whole situation, Jason allowed you to join him as a 'scout' to deal with campers.

He's still all panicky about it but learns to trust you and your skill.

Thomas Hewitt

Tommy had always been taught he needed to take care of his family and to fulfil their needs before his own. No matter the situation.

So it was quite something new for him when someone in his life started to do the same with him by prioritising his needs, desires and happiness. If it was his duty to take care of his family and you, it was also yours to make sure your big boy was doing good.

He was very embarrassed at first when you, his soulmate, started to look after him. He wasn’t too sure how to react or what to do about it.

Before you came into his life, it used to be Mama who was taking care of his injuries, but now you were there, you were the one dealing with it. And you took the situation very seriously because you hated to imagine him in pain.

Before you, even if he was hurt, he would keep doing his work and chores until the end of the day. His well being meant nothing to him.

With you, it was different.

You were caring with your gentle giant. You always forced him to sit down so you could have a look at his body and make sure he was doing alright. You also made sure he took painkillers.

You made sure to always be by his side, including to help him take care of his leather mask. Even though the man was good with his hands and was quite crafty, you were always ready in case he would need your opinion or your help. Your hands were smaller than his so it was easier for you to do more delicate things as well.

After his day of work, you also loved to massage him under the shower. At first, it was difficult for him to relax. He loved your touch on him but he wasn’t sure he deserved that kind of treatment.

Plus it felt wrong to have you doting on him: he was the one supposed to do so.

But you were determined and you threatened him a lot for him to let you do. You won because he hated even more to do something that would upset you. 

He had never slept so well in his whole existence. Your massages were the most divine of things for him. He still felt bad about it though, so he was more than eager to return the favour in any way you might like.

In a way you both had to fight with each other to be allowed to take care of one another.

Tommy didn’t want to be doted on, especially if it meant he couldn’t do the same with you right away. And you wanted to be there for him, and to force the man to think about himself first for once in his existence.

When Tommy hadn’t been around a lot because of work, you also liked to cook for him. You knew what your man loved the most, and you would do it for him. It also meant that he was going to be the first one you would serve at dinner and you would always make sure that he had the biggest portion.

If Hoyt said anything about that, you would quickly reply “Have you seen the size of this boy? He needs to eat”. It would slightly embarrass Tommy, but it would also warm his chest. 

Even if he would rather die than admit it, he loved to be taken care of. And he loved that you would try to make him happy. He had never felt that lucky in his whole life.

Once you would be alone in your shared bedroom, he would thank you for the food with tender gestures and kisses. He would be all over you like a giddy puppy and he wouldn’t stop loving on you until you would giggle at the nonstop attention.

Bo Sinclair

Bo was a conservative guy so in his happiest dreams, his soulmate would be doting around on him and would take care of him.

But Bo was also a man who had a lot of demons and who was pretty certain he didn’t deserve anyone to love him that much. Actually, he might find it suspicious if someone would be eager to take care of him, if it wasn’t his siblings.

When you appeared in his life, you did start to take care of him to not get killed. You were a tourist, and Bo was badly hurt. He gave you the choice to help him out and to not get killed, or to try and run away and to be hunted down and destroyed in the most painful way possible.

Of course, you chose to stay and help. 

But it felt quite natural to care for him, and Bo never had to get mad at you because you wouldn’t have been careful enough with him. Your gestures were always gentle and soft to him.

That was why he had wanted to keep you around. And you continued to dote on him, but because you started to truly enjoy him and this life.

You would cook for him and most importantly bake for him and his siblings (the boys had sweet teeth, you can’t convince me otherwise).

You always tried your best for him and his family.

As a family man, it was really important for him that you also treated Vincent and Lester with tenderness, but a different kind that you gave him of course (he was very jealous and possessive of you obviously)

He would love to see you coming into his garage with some drinks and cookies or something freshly made and baked. He would stop whatever he was doing to sit down with you on his lap, and enjoy the little feast you prepared for him. 

If tourists interrupted the moment, he would be very pissed and he would kill them the most quickly and yet rough way he could, before going back to you as if nothing had happened.

Because you were very doting on him and taking care of him in any ways possible, he was a lot gentler with you than he had ever been with anyone else.

You were special. Not even his Mama made sure he was alright and happy like you did. You would never hurt him, and in return he made sure to be good to you.

All your acts of services were noted in his mind, even the smallest ones. 

He didn’t always thank you, actually he very rarely did and he might be acting like an arrogant asshole. It was as if whatever you were doing was indeed natural and as if he deserved this and not any less.

But deep down, he was so grateful to have you around. He would forever keep you safe and you knew it.

Actually, he never thought of killing you. And he made sure you also knew it; he would really hate to have to hunt you down to bring you back home because he made you feel unsafe.

His way of thanking you was actually the way he treated you, especially in bed. He never forced anything on you, he never hurt you and he tried his best to always make you feel good about your body.

In his softest moment, he would even praise you and compliment you. His eyes were always showing you he was telling the truth.

He very rarely told you he loved you too but he never beat you and never yelled at you even when he was badly injured. You knew that pain was really making him a bad person, but he was always biting his lips to keep quiet. It was very different when it was Vincent taking care of him… But as said before, you were special.

Vincent Sinclair 

Because his Mama always reminded him that he had a face only a mother could love, Vincent strongly believed that he was also someone only a mother could dote on.

He was a violent and sadistic killer, after all. He didn’t see why he would deserve someone good in his life.

But you came one day, and you never left. Not that he would have allowed it anyways.

You took care of him to stay alive, and the man quickly started to be absolutely obsessed with you. He even started to keep you in the same room than him or it would drive him insane to not know where you were or what you were doing.

It meant that you started to help a lot with the wax statues. You would praise Vincent and give him the right tool, or give him your opinions if you thought something could be done better.

You also made sure he stayed hydrated and didn’t forget to eat. When he would allow you to, you would go into the kitchen to fix him something. He would always share the food you made with you, because he also wanted you to stay in good health conditions.

After some time, he even started to remind himself you both needed to eat and drink water. But he liked it better when you were the one gently whispering into his ear that it was time for a break. He enjoyed having you close to him, and he enjoyed having you taking care of him.

He couldn’t sleep without you. He often asked to sleep on your chest and to wait for him to rest before going to sleep yourself. He loved to be watched over. You were like a new mother to him.

But he loved you way more than he used to love his mother. Or at least in a very different way.

He used to be glued to his mother’s side, but he would also let her go if he was crafting. He couldn’t do that with you. His favourite way to sculpt was now with you on his lap.

For the two of you, your favourite way of doting over him was showering him.

Before you, he used to forget to take a shower, mostly because he was working until he was falling asleep on his work table.

Now, you would gently kiss his chest and neck, softly whispering to him that it was time to stop working for today. Bo never managed to make his twin stop working. But Vincent couldn’t resist you for one second.

You would guide him upstairs and into the bathroom. You would help him undress before he would watch you getting rid of your own clothes. He loved to watch you getting naked in front of him. And once in the shower or in the bath, you would start to wash his hair.

He would simply close his eyes and hug you as you took care of him. He loved the feel of your fingers gently scratching his scalp. And he loved how you would put conditioner on his long hair too. 

After his hair, you washed his body and face. You were always a little bit more tender when it was about his face.

He would lean into all your touches, completely relaxed and happy. He never felt insecure about his appearance when he was alone with you, and it only added to his obsession with you.

You were perfect, as if you came straight out from one of his fantasies.

He wasn't usually washing you. He preferred to look at you touching your own skin. But sometimes, his hands would be too itching to feel you and he would bring you all against him.

He would stroke your skin and start to play with you.

His favourite way to thank you for being so doting on him would be to kiss every inch of your skin and to pleasure you out of your mind… Not that you ever complained about it.

I'm gonna be honest, I almost waged war on Lester because it took forever to get his face even remotely similar to how he looks in the movie (I still feel it doesn't but if I spent longer on this it'd probably be out in Jan), I adored drawing Jonesy though (puppyyyy)

This pose was a little awkward for me to do up so I ended up tweaking the ref I made a couple of times because his head looked weird
