Shax had a tough time delivering Crowley's mail at The Ineffable Con:

After collecting the Traitor's mail for months,

teaming up with a doppelganger,

interrupting intimate moments,

using threats

and demonic karate skills,

and chasing the Traitor around the entire Moor Hall, while the Traitor was chasing his emotional support angel,

Shax asserted her dominance and delivered the mail

and could finally have some time for herself.

Much of the time I find the way that we’re told to manage tics very much prioritises others rather than the person with tics.

Oftentimes it’s about how to make us more palatable to those who don’t have tics, whether that is being in good humour and allowing them to laugh at us regardless of whether we are comfortable with that, locking ourselves up at home so people don’t have to see something “icky”, putting ourselves in the constant discomfort of suppressing tics for no reason but the fact that other people are ignorant.

Justifying ableism as “well what do you expect going out and yelling swear words?”. When my tics first developed my parents threatened to never let me leave the house, go to school or see friends saying that I have to “think of others”. It is always seen as my responsibility to educate and jump through hoops to be treated with basic decency. People make it very clear that their few seconds of discomfort are priority over my entire life.

I'm declaring here and now, yes it absolutely can be funny sometimes.

But I'm also declaring that it is sometimes very NOT funny.

Good Omens Scavenger Hunt in London

Something's up again! Shax visited the Bandstand today to deliver Crowley's mail.

But Crowley was nowhere to be found and so she left the mail behind one of the benches around the Bandstand - together with some amazing art from @drimmsydra and @fuzzywhispersbear !

To find all the treasures, look for an angel among the bench plaques.

Someone came up to me yesterday and asked if I have Tourette's, and then proceeded to explain how they have no filter and that it'd be great to have Tourette's as an excuse for all of the random things they say.

This is a reminder that Tourette's is INVOLUNTARY and is NOT just speaking tics. It is PAINFUL self-injury tics, muscle and joint pain, repetitive strain injury, not being able to cook, not being able to drive, feeling excluded from spaces, being told off something you can't stop, being glared at, and more.
