Greetings. recently, my gym at home was closed and I had to go to a gym in a nearby disadvantaged area. I'm going there for the first time today.. a strange place.. they have a dress code there (only T-shirts and shorts) and some kind of Chronivac competition is taking place there. Do you think I didn't make a mistake by signing up here?
First day: I stand out here in the studio with my workout clothes. Most beefcakes wear old, worn-out and washed-out clothes made of sweat fabric. With my new brand-name clothes made of high-tech functional fibers, I'm an exotic. I also stand out in other ways. I think I'm the only member without a tattoo or a beard. And the only one who showers after training. In any case, the only one who uses shower gel and deodorant.
Second day: I took a two-day break from training. This actually stood out. When I was on the leg press, a colossus came up to me and asked where I had been. I explained to him that my last personal trainer recommended not working out more than three times a week. The response was "Bullshit, lil' brother. Just listen to meh now. I expect to see ya 'ere any day. An' put on more weoit." His stench was numbing. I didn't dare disagree.
Day Three: Phil from the front desk greeted me with Fistbump. He hands me a canister of protein shake. Bonus for working out two days in a row. Hehehe, hope it helps. I'm still one of the little lads here. But thanks to the protein shake, at least I can fart like the beefcakes… My beard is coming along nicely… I'm starting to look like a man.
Fourth day: I've been wearing mah gym clothes continuously for 24 hours now. And of that, i've been pumping iron for 12 hours. Ano every pumper in da gym by name. I feel loik i was in kindergarten wiv 'en. Or in juvie. We're a toit-knit community here. We don't loik to see new members… Gaz asks if i'll work out da chest wiv him today. Sure thing!
Day Five: Tyler says none of da bruhs expected da chronivac settings to have such an effect on meh. I don't understand a word he's saying. Must be some bro beefcake stuff. I really have a lot to learn. But da workout was great! i'm pretty darn happy wiv da results. But d'er iz still a lot to do. Set new record for barbell curls today.
Day six: Dwayne gave meh 1 of his t-shirts 2day. Stinks worse then dwayne himself. But my old 1 looks all pussy and is 2 smol 2. Tyler asked if id liek 2 start working fo' his company as a mover. It's finally a job fr men. And so the move 2 the new apartment will b cheaper, 2. The old 1 is just 2 far away frum the gym
I found the intermediate state of your development @bestvideosmuscle

Fit keeps two journals that he writes in every day: The standard, mandatory daily report journal where he keeps track of weather, maintenance and activity, and his personal diary where he writes more detailed accounts of his days. Phil gave him that one, told him that writing down his thoughts a few times a day would help him heal. Fit's not too sure about all that, but he'll admit it's kinda relaxing to sit out on the rocks at sunset writing down whatever comes to mind. it's usually just pretty objective play-by-plays of whatever happened that day, but still.
A few weeks after he meets richarlyson's "pod" of parents (he doesn't question why they're called that) these peaceful writing sessions gain an audience: two of the weird seals that he keeps seeing, the ones that are a bit too big and a bit too furry to not stand out among the typical grey harbor seals he usually sees. more specifically, it's the smallest of those seals - the one with a back flipper missing - and the light brown one that always seems to accompany it. A pair of mates, maybe? but after a week or so of the seals just. sitting there, watching him write, the light brown one seemingly decides it has better things to do, which leaves Fit with his one-flippered companion. Fit wonders how it's been surviving, but it seems to be managing just fine without it and he's not trained to deal with injured wildlife, so he decides it's not his problem.
One day, Fit belatedly realises that the seal has been getting braver - it's been inching steadily closer to him day by day, until now when Fit looks up from his journal and realises that the thing is only an arms-length from the rock he's sitting on. He stares at it. It stares back at him. "I don't have any food for you," he tells it. It barks a sound at him that sounds almost like a laugh. "Don't laugh at me, that's rude" he's not sure why he's feigning offense, why he's joking around with no one around to hear it but... it's nice. it's freeing, almost, to be able to laugh at himself without worrying about being seen. The seal is tilting it's head at him like it understands, and Fit knows it doesn't, but the next night he's there he talks to it out loud while he writes. he tells it about his day, about Ramon and Richas and his weird new acquaintances - about how he's found unexpected friends in some of them. Funny enough, talking out loud brings out thoughts he hasn't been able to get down with journaling.
on one particularly hard day, maybe the worst he's had since taking the job, he tells it about the war. tells it about how he was recruited right out of school, eager to make a change and protect his country. He tells it about how no one told him why they were fighting, how the war started or what steps were being taken to end it. How he had to learn all of that after going home. He tells it about his fallen comrades, about the enemy soldiers he killed. He tells it how much it hurts to think about, that he witnessed that much death and caused that much of it himself, that he has to live with that and knowing that at the end of the day he wasn't fighting for justice or peace or anything but the interests of the people in power. He tells it that he isn't sure he feels guilty, and that that makes him feel guilty. He tells it how lonely he's been since getting back - all things he hadn't really processed or admitted yet.
"maybe that's why I keep talking to you," he says. "I haven't really... I don't know how to make friends, since getting back. Being out here all isolated... it's nice. I mean, it's nice because it's nice, but also, it's nice just to have an excuse for being alone instead of being alone while surrounded by people, yknow?" He looks at the animal, which is staring up at him with disturbingly human emotion in it's eyes. He looks away. "I don't know. This is stupid, I'm talking to a fucking seal. and I do have friends, I mean... there's phil, there's tubbo. There's richas' parents, though I'm not sure they really count. Only see em for a little bit once in awhile, and s'not like they're there for me." He goes to sleep that night feeling lighter and heavier all at once.
And then the next morning, Pac (and a hesitant-looking mike) shows up with Richas, asking fit if they can help him work today. And not taking no for an answer

AU where the twinyards’ dad finds out about them and fights to get them back
TW: Andrew’s past (before the Spears), Aaron’s abuse (mentioned), Nicky’s treatment by Luther
He finds Andrew first.
Michael is just an ordinary guy, in his mid-thirties working a boring office job. He doesn’t hate it, but it’s definitely not what he sees himself doing for his entire life. He has a solid group of friends, he’s single but he doesn’t mind and he has a nice little appartement in Oakland. Sure sometimes money is tight, but he manages.
Until one day his world crashes upside down.
One person in his group of friends is a social worker. It’s a Thursday when he gets her text. It’s just a “can I call you?” but he immediately knows there is something amiss. Sarah never asks to call him, she usually just does regardless of what time it is. He calls her and she tells him she wants to see him the same evening. He agrees. They meet up at their usual restaurant and she tells him about this kid in Oakland who just got thrown out of his foster home. Michael asks her why she’s telling her that. The woman takes a deep breath. She digs into her bag, gets a file out and lays it in front of him. Michael frowns, wondering what the heck is going on. But then he sees the name.
Andrew Joseph Doe.
“What is this?”
Sarah gestures at him to open the file. He does. He does and when he sees the photo pinned on top of all the papers, his stomach drops. Because staring back at him is a younger version of himself. Well, it’s him but it’s also not. Michael doesn’t say a word, he just stares at the photo of this ten year old boy staring back at him with eyes devoid of any joy. His throat squeezes.
Sarah talks before he can. “Michael we’ve known each other since we were seven years old. This boy is you.”
Michael gulps. He knows it. He sees it. The boy—Andrew—has his face. He even has the same faint beauty mark at the corner of his mouth. Michael’s eyes are darker, the boy’s are hazel, their hair is the same shade of blond.
His mind spins and spins and spins, until he remembers an evening in San Jose ten-ish years ago. He doesn’t remember the details, but he remembers a woman, one too many glasses of alcohol and a night spent in a hotel in her company. “Jesus fucking Christ. Sarah I don’t… I didn’t… Are you sure?”
“We could do a DNA test, I don’t know maybe I’m imagining things but you are seeing it too, yes?”
Michael takes a moment to answer. “Are you allowed to let me take this home?”
“Technically no. But no one will know.”
Michael doesn’t sleep that night. He reads the file from beginning to end, reads about how Andrew has been tossed around foster homes without ever being allowed to settle in one. He learns that he is deemed difficult, angry for his young age. All Michael sees is a lost kid who needs help. He texts Sarah the next morning that he wants to meet him. It takes a week to organize a meeting. Sarah can’t be there for it because she has to take care of another kid but Michael goes with his friend Phil Higgins, whom he has known for a couple years now.
They meet Andrew’s caseworker first. Michael has a long discussion with him, then they meet Andrew. Andrew looks like he wants to be anywhere but here except when he meets Michael’s eyes, there is something that clicks. There is very little doubt they are related and Michael sees just how much intelligence there is in the boy’s eyes when he stares at him. Michael doesn’t know what to tell him, this child whose existence he didn’t know about until barely a few days ago. Michael immediately wants to bring him back home with him. He knows the process is going to be long but he wants to pull some strings, and Higgins is here to help.
It takes weeks to get the paperworks in order, but after an excruciatingly long wait, it’s done. He gets to take Andrew, his son—the DNA tests came back—home. Adjusting to this new life is strange. Andrew doesn’t talk to him. Higgins helps with enrolling him to school, Sarah gives him precious advice, but Andrew is a closed book.
Until one night where Michael decides to take him to the ice cream parlor after school. It’s been three weeks since they’ve been living under the same roof, three weeks of silence, but this time Andrew speaks. “Why did you do this?”
It takes Michael a second to register Andrew asked him a question. “Do what?”
“Decided to take me with you?”
“Andrew you’re my son.”
“It didn’t matter until now.”
“I didn’t know about you. If I did, I would never have let this happen. I swear.”
Andrew frowns. He eats more of his ice cream (a chocolatey monster. It’s fine, Michael will make him eat veggies for dinner). “I don’t know you. Your words mean nothing.”
Michael can hardly comprehend this boy is just ten. “Andrew, I’m going to need you to listen to me very carefully. If I had known, I promise I would never have let any of this happen. You’re my son, and I swear you’ll never need to worry about anything again. On my life. Understood?” Andrew frowns, but he nods. Things start to get better from there.
Until a year later when Higgins, who had been sent to talk at a school in San Jose and calls him freaking out because he swears he saw Andrew there. It’s impossible, Andrew has spent the entire day at the zoo with Michael because they decided to take a day away from everything. Higgins sends him a photo of a boy who looks like the carbon copy of his son.
This is the second time Michael’s world crashes down.
Higgins helps him find out about this child—Aaron—and when he learns the way he is treated by his mom, Michael fights the courts to get custody and protect him. It works.
The twins have a hard time getting along, but slowly they make progress. The three of them learn to become a family no matter how strange it is but Higgins suggests signing them up to the school’s exy team.
It helps.
They make some friends, including a troublemaking redhead, and things get better from there.
Until one day another boy shows up at Michael’s doorstep. He recognizes him from his fight against Tilda. His name is Nicky, he’s sixteen, and he looks like an absolute mess. Nicky tells him everything he’s been going through.
Michael cannot let this broken boy alone, he cannot allow that.
So he goes back in front of the courts to get custody. He gives them evidence of conversion therapy and with Higgins again on his side, Nicky ends up joining the house and his cousins where none of them ever need to worry about anything again.
A massive thank you to @halfpintpeach for helping me bring this chaos together <3

Thank you for @mysteriouslover1516 for asking me this interesting question.
How do I imagine Jake?
(Please refrain from reading this if you haven't completed the game as this contains some spoilers. :) I recommend you to finish the game and come back to read this after).
I imagine Jake as a reserved personality. I imagine his life to be difficult and much of a loner. That's why he's easily feeling shy.
He prefers to appear mysterious because he needs to maintain his identity a secret, being chased by the government and all, he appears creepy to most others but he doesn't feel scary or creepy at all to MC. Most probably because he helps MC with many hacking perks from the very beginning to help them in finding the suspect. And he also shows how he only trusts MC and is willing to work together with them so MC sees him as a partner not as someone who is scary or creepy at all (despite all the questionable hacked sources ofc). ;) Ofc there are many things about him that are still mysterious to MC and let's hope MC can know more about him. Only to MC especially. :)
He doesn't show his emotion much except when he's with MC so most probably he's an introvert person who will warm up with certain ppl whom he is already familar and feeling close with. Just like how he is with Hannah.
I think Jake is also a curious person. He's curious because MC is like an "X" factor that remains as something unpredictable and surprising to him in so many aspects and layers. He also really appreciates and respect MC. One of the reasons is because he learns many things about MC that he finds endearing to him. For one, he tried to half force MC into the problem He's in and MC has every chance they have to ignore but they choose not to. Next, MC even indirectly, if not directly, defends him from the group and keep his identity and any information about him safe from anyone. MC never blames Jake too much about the problem that comes after. Next, Jake seemed like he never really worked with a partner that he feels close to him before and I mean not physically close but psychologically and he's surprised that he feels that way about MC. (Tbh I didn't expect to fall in love with his character too).
Through these qualities Jake deems MC as a valuable partner he can trust.
He's also a secretly caring and a romantic person. Many times when MC was in trouble he jumped in and helped out without being asked. He also can suddenly type out something or do something that's just simply romantic out of nowhere. That random "Do you like chinese" question and statement about it reminds him of MC. Also how he just blurt out about how his mind can't focus on his task cause his mind always flies back to MC. I find it as romantic, but how he says it in a non flirty and non cringe kind of way... It does tremendous damage to my heart, ack. I find it so charming. (Yes, I'm a sucker for someone who can show that he cares in a non cringey way).
Up to this point, we can assume Jake as someone who can't control his feelings specifically, love. But he seems to be a calm and collected person, usually, maybe unless when it comes to love. :) Remember how he's annoyed because phil called MC for help and he admitted, "Yes. I'm not usually like this."
Accompanying his caring personality is his protective behavior. He protects MC from his pursuers, he created Nymos 💙 He is also so very determined in preventing MC from going to Duskwood at any cost. Also He finds it hard to turn his back on Hannah's case and even if he tried to cut any contact with Hannah, when she asked him for help, he finds it hard to refuse. Does he have hero complex, hmm not really, more like he has the protagonist qualities.
I think he's actually not a brave person inside, that's why he is charmed by how brave MC was pictured in the story. He's afraid of losing someone he loves. But despite not being brave enough, he always tries to act strong and put up a brave front.
When he loves someone he seems to be the type that is gonna go all out or nothing. I give it my all or I don't go at all. :)
I also imagine him as the type who won't easily fall in love. He fell for MC under very exceptional case which makes his love feel exceptional and rare. Maybe he secretly believes in destiny and that he will meet the one for him.
He's also loyal and ofc as we all know, extremely smart. He's mostly rational and not emotional except for some cases that involve people who are important to him.
He's not selfish. He honestly doesn't want to drag people to his mess that's why he pushed away MC at first because he knows it's dangerous to be with him.
I also imagine him as someone who can't be easily impressed by others. (Only when you do very exceptional thing that would impress him, ofc MC always impresses him, but hey Thomas did impress him too, once, if I'm not mistaken).
He's awkward with crowds. He often doesn't know the right words to say so he keeps it short and straightforward. He claimed to be able to handle bad guys and bad situations better ;)
He is honest except for things he needs to keep secret because he thinks it's to protect someone or keeping someone safe. So he does keep secrets but all the things he ever said is honest and the truth. Because everytime MC said "you're keeping something from me aren't you?" He never denies it. So he's not a liar.
He's pretty nerdy too :) why, because he rarely says anything except for the case they're working on or when he's explaining stuff that he's found and he's interested in (flashbacks to when he talks about the history of ironsplinter mine in long lines to MC, lol.)
He's very observant. Maybe part of the perks for being very smart and having a curious mind.
He's not good at reading people but he can take hints and not completely clueless.
He's stubborn alright. He needs some convincings if you want him to do otherwise. And there will be no discussion if it's a matter of MC's safety.
Tumblr media
Yes, you read it right, Jake is NOW OFFLINE. :)
He also has a cute quirk, unique, and special talent for understatements. :D when we told him he was surrounded by his pursuers he just said "This is not good."
I find how he's always typing his words in a formal/serious sentence and ending them with a period as something that is not awkward at all. It's charming and hot. :) And his smileys, and his 'haha.' And 'hehe.' Aaaaa..
So yes, he is a cool, charming, closet romantic introvert kind of person with all those qualities I have mentioned above which make him this complete personality, the Duskwood Hacker Jake that we all come to love. 💙

a plant-specific plant skit reaction, from my sister
i am not a plant person, but i live with a lot of plants because i live with my sister, who is a plant person and active hobbyist! she watched the plant skit and gave me a bunch of her opinions
for those who, like me, also aren’t plant people, her basic summary was this:
“(Phil) honestly did a *REALLY* good job caring for a plant collection as a non-hobbyist. Some of those are so fragile. Just a few dry bits of fern to pull off is frankly impressive.” she full on said “phil did a good job.” yay phil!
the slightly longer version:
“My bet is that Dan left him a specific list of what to do and forgot the dracaenas, since the others show inconsistent or incorrect care, not neglect. And then Phil followed the instructions to the letter. Schedules don't work long-term; you have to observe and change care. Meaning that someone who is eager to Do The Thing for their loving partner could totally leave some plants in distress...because they are Following Instructions but not a Plant Guy.”
back to me for a sec:
obviously this whole thing where dan despairs over his dead plants is a (very funny) bit but i, the non-plant person, find it extremely sweet that phil obviously tried! plant care is hard even if you like doing it!
more specifics for each plant!
this isn’t in chronological order, and she apologizes for any plant misidentification, but honestly, it went so fast; i’m impressed she had reasonable guesses for pretty much everything
1. “the nanouk and maidenhair are absolutely fine.” 2. “the orchid will recover.” 3. “the snake plant (the first one) is very overwatered and shouldn't have been touched while he was on vacation, for any length of time. they can go months without water... Snake plants surprise people; they're almost more static decorations than plants, thus easy to overwater.” 4. “the calathea is fine. brown edges just means it's being a baby about inconsistent watering (or phil used tapwater instead of distilled)... Calatheas and ferns are really delicate.“ 5. “the schefflera is too brief to tell if it's drooping from under or over watering. it's in a prominent hallway so i'm guessing he overwatered. honestly they're kinda...susceptible to rot.” 6. “i think that the ones in the crotch planter is dracaena and i'm impressed they're so dry and crispy...they might have already been dying. the terra cotta probably dries out too fast.” 7. “he's not allowed to act dramatic about his bromeliad. they're supposed to die like that. it is underwatered though...The bromeliad's dead part is entirely death bloom, so it only looks bad.”
(rory note: dan? not be dramatic??? impossible)
8. “acting upset over his outside plants. in winter. he's gotta just be playing, lol.“
the more planty summary:
“his succulents only need one good soak and they'll be fine. most of his plants are fine. RIP suspected dracaena. everything else is either fine, will be fine with rehab, or can be propagated into a new plant(s)... tbh it looks like Phil turned Dan's plants into hobby rehabs for him to learn more about propagating and bacterial management and stuff so really Dan should thank him”
SAY THANK YOU, DANIEL

november of 2020, red barrels did a charity stream for extralife that was pretty lowkey. sadly, only a few people attended, so i’d like to document the info we got from writer jt petty for the fandom!
i'll divide what we discussed during red barrels' charity stream into sections: games and comics. some of this could be misremembered or misquoted, but i'm trying to stick by the facts that i recall.
OUTLAST & WHISTLEBLOWER:
outlast is, as a matter of fact, under the ‘dating sim’ category on steam. jt says that he wrote a lot of the characters in this mindset. he also said it probably says more about him than the characters.
miles is the kind of guy to get fussed about the difference between 'carport' and 'garage' and 'eclair' and 'boston creme'. this is about the only insight we got into his personality, because jt couldn't talk about him: miles and waylon were pretty firmly off limits.
as for waylon, his taste in music is heavy metal! he's kind of the cool dad, or at least perpetuates the cool dad myth. he would definitely play mario kart with his two boys. gamer dad!
chris walker was from a military family. after returning home from afghanistan, he struggled to make a return to normalcy, and didn't have many connections to others nor friendships. jt doesn't believe he was ever involved romantically. he said that he feels chris was in the process of trying to heal by looking for something to protect. chris is also his and vincent’s favorite character.
father martin enjoyed painting landscapes before the art therapy program was cut by helen grant, according to red barrels. when asked if he liked bob ross, they responded, ‘who doesn’t?’ when my friend said that he was the creepiest character in outlast, jt said that’s totally on her.
rick trager was born into money, and his father's estate and success made it nigh impossible for him to measure up to his legacy. he was the classic disappointment son of a billionaire and never lived up to his father’s expectations. in a bit of trivia, we learned his favorite food is croissants: spinach croissants in particular, because he hates himself. jt also mentioned that rick likely believed he would really profit from selling the body parts he amputated from the variants and miles, and figured he would make out just fine. and that, ‘he probably will.’ if he had a dog, it would probably be something sickly and overbred, like a pug.
langin is named after jt’s wife. he names characters he dislikes after people he likes, and vice versa.
jeremy blaire is probably the most reprehensible character in outlast: the one who is most capable of assuming responsibility for his actions, a face to the name of the murkoff corporation. he enjoys christmas because of the capitalist reason for the season. he would probably give pretty lousy and cheap gifts to his employees. he’s named after two people jt likes.
furthermore, murkoff isn’t the sort of company that gives permission for holiday parties during work hours: if you want to celebrate at all, you do it on your own time or your break.
frank manera would probably be a fan of phil collins’ music since his songs often have a very slow buildup before the payoff. jt interestingly compared this to cannibalism, and how it requires dedicated patience. frank had to go without before indulging in human meat.
frank would most likely get along very well with eddie if they'd met under different circumstances, such as at a party. he sees the two of them as being very unlikely friends, the two dissimilar guys you never expect to get along as well as they do.
eddie was jt’s favorite character to write for due to his ‘flirtatious’ and fun dialogue. he truly believes in his delusions, or rather that they aren’t delusions at all; he was described as being blind to everything else around him when he thinks that he’s in love. if he had a dog, it would be a corgi.
OUTLAST II:
lynn was inspired by people jt has met in the film industry, and her ambition highlights that.
knoth is pretty cultured when it comes to his taste in music, and he has a lot of knowledge of older artists. i believe jt said that he mostly enjoys the blues. if he had a dog, it would have attachment issues and be extremely eager to please, like a shepherd or cattle dog.
marta’s goal of becoming perfectly brainwashed to the doctrine of temple gate was realized. in trying to please knoth, she erased any lingering doubts or traces of guilt in what she was doing, and she no longer feels much emotion at all due to how she has absorbed the cult’s mentality. she is ultimately feared because she is the perfect example of obedience to knoth.
she/her pronouns were used for val. jt corrected himself quickly to they/them, but it still stands.
jenny roland, the pathologist mentioned in documents in both the underground lab from outlast and well-hidden field report from the lake chapter of outlast 2, may very well make an appearance in future games. she seems to be quite important, as jt couldn’t talk about her outside of one personality detail i got out of him: she doesn’t wear either slippers or socks in her home because she’s a clean freak and instead goes barefoot. she’s the sort of person to have everything neatly organized in her home, all the shoes lined up by the door, and not a speck of dust in sight. he was pretty genuinely surprised by all the interest in her character, and red barrels suggested making joke merch for her. socks and maybe fingerless gloves? i'd honestly buy some jenny socks.
THE COMICS:
jt said that the pauls (the two murkoff legal mitigation officers, paul marion and pauline glick) are going to be increasingly relevant to the story of outlast as it continues, and that he has big plans to continue where the comics left off. given this tidbit, and the epilogue of the story, could we possibly see paul as future protagonist, or maybe in pauline's case, a future major antagonist? at least there’s now solid hope for a follow up to the story of the comics, and possibly an explanation as to what led to paul and pauline’s injuries, as well as murkoff’s haste to find paul before he does further damage. his story left off with simon telling him that they have to find the walrider in order to find the answer to where his daughter alice has disappeared to, after all.
likewise, he hinted that alice marion (paul's daughter) is also going to somehow be crucially important, making mention of the circumstances of her rare blood disease and experimental gene therapy treatment by the murkoff corporation not being any sort of coincidence, and saying that he has big plans for her. could this mean that simon was telling the truth about her connection to temple gate? is she somehow connected to the morphogenic engine? could this also be why pauline says that paul was her target from the beginning? mysterious!
he talked about how the concept for paul marion was created, and how at his core, he's just a guy doing a job. his dreamcast for paul would be philip seymour hoffman.
a bit of interesting talk about the 'personality' of the walrider when questioned if miles likes dogs. since his neighbor says they like him, but they reacted violently to his returned presence at his apartment after the mount massive incident, i asked if miles likes dogs as well as they like him. jt and red barrels implied, rather than stating outright, that the walrider itself doesn't like dogs. it was also mentioned that it's very protective and overly defensive, very attached to one person, and unwilling to share. interesting attributes given to something that isn't supposed to be sentient. (edit: later confirmed by jt in one of the anniversary q&a videos to be a sort of sentient hive mind.)
simon peacock is named after the voice director the character himself was voiced by at the end of whistleblower. however, unlike the real simon peacock, the fictional simon is not from new zealand. is he faking an accent? his character will also be further explored as the story continues!
MISCELLANEOUS:
i knew that trials was a topic that couldn’t be talked about, but still suggested my theory on the story connecting back to the mkultra documents found in mount massive in the first game. jt asked if i was someone from red barrels trying to get him in trouble. i think this speaks for itself. :)
he has a giant pet lop bunny named holly! 10/10! would donate to the cause again just for her!
red barrels said that they’re still accepting merch ideas before reopening the store, and to message them if there’s anything in particular anyone would be interested in seeing. the physical copy of the comics will be restocked in the future, and they may restock other items previously seen in the store. they like to make joke merch, too, so keep that in mind!
and that’s about everything outlast related that i can recollect! is there anything you guys are excited about in particular? personally, i’m totally psyched about the hints towards resolving the comics, and the importance of the marions going forward, since they’ve been my favorite characters for quite a long time. feel free to correct anything here if i've misquoted. it's been a few weeks, and my original notes were very short and to the point.

Wilbur inviting friends over was a weird occurence, mostly because everyone in the house is an over the yop weirdo (w love)
So the moment you walked through the entrance door Tommy was intrigued by you
"Who's this Wilbur?" Tommy asked, looking you up and down, only making you a bit uncomfortable under the boy's eyes
Wilbur stopped in his tracks, almost as if he didn't notice his sibling was in the room "This is Y/N, we are going to my room so don't bother us" the man took your hand and guide you what might be hus room, but before dissapearing with his brother Tommy saw you smile and wave at him, making him intrigued by you
When Tommy told Phil about Wilbur taking someone to his room, the man giggled
"Why don't you go offer them something to eat? Maybe you could talk with this mysterious friend of WIlbur"
And that's what Tommy did
He carefully oppened Wilbur's door, and through the creek he saw you laughing at Will, who was talking to you about God's knows what with a big smile on his face
But Tommy wasn't interested in Wil's dumb smile, but yours. You radiate some type of magnetic energy that calls him, that makes him want to be one of the reason you smile
This thoughts were quickly pushed to the side when Wilbur's tall framed blocked his view
"You lost something?" Wilbur looked at him as if he was commiting some type of crime so Tommy just let the first thing that came into his brain leave his mouth
"Phil wants you to go to the kitchen"
With a groan Will left his room, promising that he wouldn't take long, and this was the wooden opportunity for Tommy
He needed to know who this person in his brother's room was, to take care of Will, not because he thinks they are cute or anything
So that's how he met you, he learned that you were friend of a friend of Will and you two met because your love for the music
He learned your favorite band and a little bit about what you were currently doing (studying something he couldn't remember what because he was entrance by your eyes that were shining)
When Wilbur arrived with a tray with two glasses, juice and cookies, Tommy knew it was his sign to leave, but he didn't want it, not yet
Months passed and you were a common guest, and Tommy's crush just grew
He wanted to spend just a little more time with you and an opportunity came
Wilbur was talking about going to watch Avatar with a friend
"Phil, where is Wilbur going?"
"He's going out with Y/N" The man answers without much thought, boy nodded crafted a plan, he would go with them and sit next to you, then in the middle of the movie he would do the yawn trick and you will lean your head into his shoulder, he just needs to take action
"You think we would mind if I go with them?" Phil just looked at him as if he was growing a second head
"I don't think he would like you going with them... Also he invited you last week to watch the movie with him, what made you change your mind?"
With Wilbur's step getting close and Phil in front of him questioning him made his face flush "Eh.. um, well Philza, a man is allowed to change his mind"
Phil just looked at him and laughs "Oh just curious, mate. I want to know what made you change your mind, or may I say who" the man just laughed harder when he saw how embarrassed the kid was "Hey Will!" The man stopped on his track
"Tommy here needs to ask you something" he patted his head and left the room
Tommy stuttered asking if he could go with him, only to be rejected
"Oh, no. Maybe another day, it's just that. You don't know everyone that's coming and I can't look after you"
Wilbur blushed and said his goodbyes, leaving Tommy with a failed Plan A, so here comes plan B
The boy wasn't going to leave without a fight so he called Tubbo and left to the movies
"I don't understand why I'm always dragged to your crazy ideas"
They followed Wilbur uptown, where he met you
The two boys stayed behind, waiting for you other friends to arrive, to only be surprised about the two of you leaving the park you met at
"He is a liar!! He told me there was going to be more..." Tubbo cover his friends mouth with hopes of silence him
"Tommy, be careful they're gonna discover us"
When they arrived at the theater they joined the line, where they made the plan
Tommy pays for his and Tubbo's ticket (bc poor boy), the boy would distract Wilbur so Tommy could sit next to you and Tubbo on the other side
"Please tell me you two are not scheming"
The boys looked at Wilbur, who had the most neutral face he can make
"Oh, C'mon, they can't be in something evil? Let them be Wil" you giggled and grabbed the man arm and took him to buy popcorn and candy
"Wait , no, Y/N!" he made a "I'm watching you" gesture and willingly let you guide him, moving his hand to hold yours
This little action called Tubbo's attention
"Tommy, are they on a date?"
"Bah, as if" they boy paid for the tickets "Y/N is his best friend, and he would've told me"
can you imagine??!!
Anyway Tommy sat next to you, and Wilbur to your other side
When you were already midway the movie, he tried to do the yawn trick
It took Tubbo 17 nudges, until Tommy gave him the "Okay, I'll do it"
And when he did it, intead of your shoulders he was found with Wil's arm, who beat him at holding you
Wilbur sent him a "What are you doing?" look and then Tommy realized, You were on a date with his brother
He stood up and dragged Tubbo with him
"Tubbo, I think they're on a date"
"Took you long enough"
When Tubbo saw Tommy looking down, he comforted him, they came back to finish the movie but sat somewhere else
The movie ended and they catched up with the couple, Tubbo being the one who talks since his friend is unable to form words
"Tommy, you seem cold. Let's go to the car before we leave" Wilbur dragged the boy to the parking lot, where they had a small talk
The boy was tense, he wanted to hate his brother for being with his crush, but if they like his weird ass brother and they are happy, Why would he stop it?
"Look Tom, I know you have a crush in Y/N" the boy tried to denied it but couldn't say anything, he just stopped on his track. Wilbur took a deep breath
"It took me too long to finally ask them out, I truly like them" Wilbur wasn't even looking at him to have this conversation, but at the distance, where the two men could see you and Tubbo talking about God knows what.
"I know big man" the pain of not having any type of opportunity left TOmmy's body, the protectiveness of a brother invaded him intead "And take care of them, 'Cause if you don't I'll make Phil hunt you down" teary determinated eyes lookes at Wilbur, who softly smiled and ruffle(? the boys hair
"Will do, don't worry"
They walked back to you, who greeted them with a big smile and reaching for Wilbur's hand, who took yours without hesitating
Tommy and Tubbo left you do your couple stuff alone, to not see something they didn't wanna se (like don't kiss in front of a heartbroken boy)
And the boys were so invested in their plans fo the weekend (to distract themselves of this failed plan), so they didn't see the group of girls near the exit of the theater
Well, they noticed them when Tommy tripped and fell into one of the girls
Her friends helped her getting up while Tubbo was silently laughing
Tommy was standing up to apologize to the girl and he was thankful of this misfortune, a beautiful girl was in front of him
"Gosh Em, you ok?" the girl brushed off her friends question, looking at Tommy who was entrance with the girl
"I'm sorry, he is a bit dumb" Tubb apologized on his behalf, to which the boy
"Sorry, woman, let me make it up to you" and that's how Tommy got a date and Tubbo thirdwheel two times in a day

Sam reacts to: Dan and Phil are Getting Divorced
First of all the title had me GAGGED but also I love the way they clickbait without clickbaiting? They know thar we've learned not to take any of the titles too serious so it's just like an inside joke by now.
- I have played this before with a friend so I know the story and can judge if they are being stupid or good at it. UPDATE: They are incredible, like they are endlessly better than me and my friend were. Funfact: I played it with a friend after she broke up with her girlfriend and didn't have anyone to play it with anymore
- The different buttons on Xbox vs Switch IS A CRIME so true Phil.
- It looked like Phil wanted an answer after "we can do team work!" and just didn't get one, sad moment.
- The household chores banter is so domestic fuxk me j am crying (live reaction I will leave this unedited)
- "That is also sucking not blowing" OKAY THEN. Despite all the openings for innuendos this video has surprisingly little innuendos or even half dirty jokes? Very kid friendly language.
- I am sorry but Dan's lack of reaction at Phil calling himself husband has me raising an eyebrow, like Dan is not fazed because it happens all the time.
- They are working together so much better than I expected you can tell they have a inherent connection. This is obviously the type of game they are more used to playing and their shared brain from sharing a life for 14 years becomes so clear in the way they play together.
- How are they already codependent in a game they played about 20 minutes... (Phil saying he doesn't want to play alone).
- "Highfive me motherfucker!" That made me laugh out loud because it is SO Dan.
- "They could just go to therapy" - the friend who recommends everyone therapy after they went, we all have them.
- They have such a intrinsic way they work together? Like when they are confronted with a task where they have to work together, they don't even have to discuss who does what it just works out organically. That only comes from being together as long as they have and being such a perfect match.
- Phil knocking Dan's head >>>> love language for real
- "Which one?" Daniel Howell you are a homosexual I don't think Phil was asking if you'd smash the woman?!
- This is the most real Dan we have ever seen. Yes he will trick Phil into getting him killed but he also GENUINELY compliments Phil when doing well or winning a minigame, like that we don't get in their competitions.
- "Excellent work Lester" The last name use got me feeling some type of way not sure why.
- Dan: "I've been on grindr" Phil: "You literally made me die saying that"
- They are SUCH a good team, nothing shows this more than co-op games.
My biggest take away from this was just how much they praise and compliment each other? They are so polite and appreciative and say thank you and everything so many times in this video, probably more than in any other gaming video we have seen before. I think this is how they play video games together personally and I am glad we got to see this calm, less chaotic and to me more real version of them. I enjoy their competitiveness but this was a very wholesome insight into another side of them.
Can't wait for the next part because if they don't finish this game series I will commit crimes.

Every time I see someone try to lean into the softness of the crimeboys ending it just makes it feel more cruel.
I see something like This
Tumblr media
And it makes me think about how c!Wilbur leaving wasn't some quiet inevitablity or a sudden tragedy that nobody could have stopped, it was a choice.
Wilbur wasn't taken, not by tragedy and not by a person, he left. He left Knowing that the people he cared about weren't safe and weren't okay. And then he tried to present That as softness. Not just to us the audience, to the narrative, but to tommy.
And that's what needles me about people trying to present it this way, about it being presented as necessary and soft and healing.
Because wilbur's allowed to prioritize himself. he's allowed to say that he doesn't want to stay, that he doesn't want to be there to protect tommy or tubbo or fundy or anyone else, but he can't have his cake and eat it too. He doesn't get to make the choice to leave them at the mercy of an abuser and serial killer and expect them to be there when He's ready to have a relationship with them. He doesn't get to avoid being honest, to avoid talking about it at all, until he's skipping town to a new country and expect the trust to be there when He wants it.
Wilbur is under no obligation to stay, but tommy is under no obligation to forgive him. Wilbur is under no obligation to protect tommy from a monster, but choosing to abandon tommy with his serial killer abuser on the loose utilizing the power of a god Should erode whatever foundation that relationship had left.
It's not Fair to expect tommy to forgive him, that it's taken for granted that his trust doesn't have to be earned or nurtured. It's not fair that he's been abandoned and left behind and hurt time and time and time again and yet he always forgives, perpetually waiting for the chance to Earn being loved and being left behind anyways.
Letting his anger and sadness at wilbur go because there's nothing he can ever do to have his feelings respected wouldn't be Healthy. It's not the soft ending where everything's allowed to be okay. It'd be a link in a long pattern of unhealthy behavior.
Phil didn't have to apologize, in fact he told tommy to his face that he earned the trauma he gave him by being selfish and tommy not only Let him, but he tried to follow Phil's advice to Fix himself. Because he Needs somebody, Anybody to be there.
He refused to let tubbo apologize after exile because he saw Himself as a bad person, because he Believed that he wasn't worth saving. He held himself responsible for betraying techno before doomsday even started, despite techno being the one who lied to Him. Even if he'd been angry, even if he'd recognized that techno hurt him at first, he quietly let that anger go because techno was Never going to acknowledge that.
He's full of abandonment issues a mile deep and desperately Desperately wants to hold on to the people he cares about, but time and time again he's nobody's priority. Nobody will choose him no matter how desperately he needs it.
This will not teach him to not have abandonment or attachment issues, this will not make the genuine threat of being kidnapped and tortured for eternity go away.
The only thing worse than Wilbur knowingly choosing to leave him when he's in This vulnerable of a position, without even talking it through with him, is the idea that Tommy's not even allowed to be angry about it. That even if he Is angry now he just doesn't have the Perspective to know that it's a good thing yet and he'll Learn eventually.
Just like he Learned that he was selfish all along for wanting to protect his home and friends. Just like he Learned that he was an annoying child that just needed to be fixed.
Nobody has to put in the Work to earn Tommy's love and trust, he just has to realize that he never had the right to be upset in the first place.

3x10, part 2, Roy x Jamie edition.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
i very much doubt that, Jamie. Colin? Sam? but then again, he's besties with half of the team, so maybe?
the faces he makes.
the bickering with Roy. the thing, being their relationship and love for each other, they share.
Tumblr media
"it's dumb (i don't know yet how to feel confident with the people i care about very much). i brought it for you anyway. it made me think of you."
Tumblr media Tumblr media
THE TONGUE. thank you for your service, Phil. i missed that gesture.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
i'm gonna have a sore throat after all the screaming. it's one of the must beautiful ways to say "I love you" I've seen. that soft music playing. the look that Roy gives him. Jamie mumbling, suddenly becoming shy and awkward aka a boy that rarely receives genuine affection, a boy raised in an abusive poor household, learning to show gestures of genuine affection and and trying to live through it without embarrassment.
like, he KNOWS how much Roy's career meant and probably still means for him. it means a lot for Jamie, too, because he's there next to Roy exactly bc he had Roy's poster above his bed in the first place.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
i have so many feelings about this and Jamie. so many. i also keep thinking about Phil's, "there's gonna be a moment after which people might think that Roy and Jamie have a wild affair. i wouldn't exclude that but yeah." is this it? "you talk about him all the time" or is there going to be something wilder? like when Roy and Keeley talk and Jamie walks into the room?
bc even Roy's sister knows how much this gesture means for Roy and how much it shows Jamie's feelings for Roy (not to mention the fucking bantering with Roy Kunt, those repressed idiots). the look Jamie gives Roy. *deep sigh* yeah, i'm staying here. i'm going down with this ship. you can pry them away from me from my cold dead hands.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
not Roy actually saying how he feels to Jamie, but Jamie being so close to Roy's family and inside his house and then later Roy and Keeley are inside Jamie's childhood bedroom. you guys?? the dots are connecting? the math is mathing???
the boy is so happy and so genuine, I can't get over it. the essence of being genuine.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
those faces, lol.
Tumblr media
are you telling me that in the year 2023 this billionaire still carries ANY kind of cash? for real?
Tumblr media
i'm honestly still amazed by how good Jamie is with kids. Henry, Phoebe. maybe it's his way of pushing back after the way his dad treated him but also, to my current understanding, how his mom also tried to be good to him. with me absolutely hating kids irl? characters that still recognize the pattern and how kids needs encouragement and kindness and understanding in order to bloom? there's no denying Jamie's personality. i love his soul. the boy has my heart.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Jamie Tartt being besties with Roy Kent's sister and niece: unlocked. i dislike that I don't know/remember Roy sister's name.
Tumblr media
Jamie can perform whatever useless comment about "your sister is fit" bc this? the boy is in love. but if i'm being honest, I hate that they're always trying to nudge us in the direction of hetero Jamie so we wouldn't ship Roy and Jamie. thanks, i'm holding onto them so hard, they're gonna have bruises if you'll try to pry them away from my hands. they are IN LOVE. period.
Tumblr media
even Jamie snickering after that comment gives off s1 vibes where Jamie did everything he could to get Roy's attention. it sounds more like a joke just to get one more comment and interaction from Roy. sometimes Jamie does things not bc he believes in them but because attention, and it usually is about Roy's attention.

Rewatched The Avengers and took notes the entire time. Many of them having to do with Loki. Please enjoy.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
"I am loki of asgard and I am burdened with glorious purpose" it sounds like something that was put into his mind, repeated to him over and over.
the other says the words "who (thanos) gave you ancient knowledge and new PURPOSE."
his whole spiel that he goes on about freedom could've possibly also been said to him by whoever (the Other) got into his mind and tortured him. or it's the mind stone affecting him and it's the mind stone's message to loki or whoever holds/uses it (could definitely be wrong here. just a thought)
I think people are right when they say he purposefully lost
it's made even more obvious in the scene -with The Other- at the end of their interaction that Loki has been tortured and put through immense pain. I mean he was bending over in pain and was struggling and he also looks very sick when he first shows up. TORTURED.
BRO IT'S CRAZY THOR EVEN ASKS HIM "WHO SHOWED YOU THIS POWER" AND "WHO CONTROLS THE WOULD-BE KING" BUT AFTER THAT IT'S NEVER BROUGHT UP AGAIN HE NEVER DELVES INTO IT AND WHAT HAPPENED TO HIS BROTHER IM GOING CRAZY
THE WAY LOKI HAS TEARS IN HIS EYES DURING HIS AND THOR'S CONFRONTATION IN THE AVENGERS WHEN THE CAMERA TURNS TO HIM AFTER THOR SAYS FOR HIM TO COME HOME THE LOOK ON HIS FACE BEFORE HE GOES BACK TO A SCOFFING LAUGH
WENT FROM BEING SAD TO LAYGHING I FORGOT THIS SCENE. STARK JUST RAMS INTO THOR TAKING HIM AWAY AFTER HE'S TOLD LOKI TO "LISTEN WELL BROTHER" AND LOKI AND HIS SARCASTIC ASS "I'm listening."
when did thor learn loki was working with the chitauri?? I guess a scene they didnt share during their interaction
not a note on loki but on steve. it always bugged me the way he was about orders and shit when in his own movies he's the exact opposite. he was the rule breaker the one who stopped following orders. the only reason for him to be this way I think is maybe it's because he's just got out of the ice at this point this is new and he doesnt want to rock the boat too much. I'm not sure how well that applies tho
Tom Hiddleston's acting gets me every time he's fucking fabulous my god i love him sm
I want to make out with him aggressively (loki)
phil coulson I would die for you
back to the I believe the people that say loki wanted them to win. stark is talking about how loki made it personal (killing phil) he's saying it's to tear them apart but no. it's like what fury did with the cards. it brought them together. it's the reason they were even able to win. and it's easily disguised as what stark interprets it as by them and the people controlling Loki.
on that note again. "and you've managed to piss off every single one of them." and then loki, "that was the plan." YES IT WAS
IMCRYING OMFJ "This usually works." WHEN TRYING TO CONTROL TONY 😭😭😭
THE LITTLE THINGS I NEVER NOTICED BEFORE. THOR AND LOKI ARE FIGHTING AGAIN AT STARK TOWER AND THOR IS TRYING TO GET THROUGH TO HIM AND IT LOOKS LIKE IT DOES AFFECT LOKI FROM THE LOOK ON HIS FACE BUT THEN HE STABS THOR AND MAKES TAHT COMMENT ABOUT SENTIMENT BUT !! BUT HE'S CRYING !!!!! A TEAR LITERALLY FALLS FROM HIS EYE !!
Ik he got blown up right after but loki was so hot when he caught that arrow and then leaned back with that smirk on his face
AND HE ALSO GOT SMASHED AROUND BY HULK 😭😭I CANT BELIEVE I FORGOT ABOUT GHAT IT'S SO FUCKING FUNNY ESPECIALLY THE LITTLE WHIMPER HE LETS OUT 😭
more on the loki wanted them to win. erik was conscious enough when being controlled to create a safety feature when building the portal and everything
I don't get how people would blame the avengers for the destruction when all of it wouldve happened either way and most of them would be dead if the avengers werent there. ALSO it was a WAR maybe not a normal one but a war nonetheless. when has there EVER been a war without destruction? answer, NEVER EVER IN THE HISTORY OF EVER
cant see loki with that thing over his mouth without thinking if the scene in endgame when it's revealed it was be cause he wouldnt shut up. I think it's so funny he was literally waging war on earth after everything with thanos and then when he's had his ass handed to him he just goes back to his little annoying shenanigans 😭 like turning into cap and mocking him. he's such a funny little guy I love him
END.
His Soul's Best Mate (a Dave Parkes and Phil Proctor friendship fic)
I've recently become obsessed with the friendship dynamic between Phil and Dave (the other members of Legz Akimbo) and decided to write this: a fic about platonic soulmates
Two boys sat in a waiting room among several other hopefuls, waiting for a chance to audition for an up-and-coming theatre company called Legz Akimbo
One has his head buried in his audition book, murmuring his lines under his breath and making notes as he went along. If this went well, it could mean breaking through into a tough industry he'd been training for all his life
The other's scrolling through his phone. He doesn't quite know if this is what he wants, but that doesn't mean he isn't up for giving it a good go. Growing bored of Letterboxd, he puts his phone away and glances over at the man next to him. He sees the monologue
"I almost picked that one."
This caused the other man to lift his head in surprise, which quickly changed into a warm smile
"It's one of my favourite plays, you've heard of it?"
"Only thanks to a lot of researching!" Laughed the stranger "I'm not exactly an encyclopedia of theatre knowledge."
"What did you end up choosing?"
"Found a play called One Man, Two Guvnors. Figured I'd give it a shot."
"You're a fan of comedy! I had a feeling."
"Wow, it's that obvious?"
That made them both laugh. In a potentially volatile industry like the theatre, it was nice to meet someone that felt like a human being
"I'm Dave by the way." He extended his hand, a big grin on his face "Dave Parkes."
"Phil Proctor." He shook it
"No way, Proctor?" Dave chuckled in disbelief "Like in The Cruci-"
"Yes," Phil sighed with a smile "just like The Crucible. I guess my destiny was laid out in front of me since birth."
"Better hope you're good then!"
That's when Phil knew he'd found a very good friend
*********************************************
Rehearsals were interesting. And by interesting, Dave meant "his personal hell". Seriously, their new director was more unstable than a dingy boat on a stormy sea! He thought that, overtime, he'd get better. He was yet to be proven right
One evening, Dave was on a video call with Phil for their weekly line-learning session. They figured they'd start early, plus Dave appreciated being able to talk to his friend without Ollie breathing, or rather screaming, down his neck
"Have you worked with Ollie before?" He asked during their post-run through break
"Nah, first time. You?"
"Same here, was just wondering how you were finding it. I mean, Ollie seems to like you-"
"Like me?" Phil laughed a little at that "Funniest thing I've heard all week!"
"But he always brings up that audition you're going to, the one for that radio show?"
"Only because he's pissy about me missing rehearsals!" Phil muttered "Sarcastic git..."
Once Dave heard that, it all started to click. It would explain why Ollie spent so much time talking about it, yet never showed any real interest aside from that
"Right. Sorry, sarcasm gets lost on me." Dave shrugged "Joys of autism, I guess."
As soon as he saw the look of surprise on Phil's face, Dave couldn't help but laugh - he'd forgotten that was part of him he didn't know yet
"I was diagnosed pretty recently, plus I'm really good at hiding. Trying to get better at not doing that."
"Why didn't you say anything? I mean, you don't owe anyone an explanation, but surely you could get additional support-"
"From Ollie? Not a chance! We both know what he'd do:" Dave took his pink-tinted sunglasses from his desk and put them on, imitating Ollie's voice and mannerisms "My name is Ollie Plimsolls, and welcome to my new play entitled Autism Speaks. I have no idea that this is also the name of a crapsack company because I do absolutely no research. Please sit through this agonising performance while these two actors beside me slowly feel their souls decay!"
Phil could hardly breathe from laughing, and Dave was no better as he took his glasses off again. There was something about having someone that shared their irritancy with their director that felt like Spring air
"He really is something, isn't he?"
"I think the word they use is 'crackpot'." Phil said "I'd quit, but I need the experience. Plus, I like doing stuff with you."
"Boo, that's soppy!"
"Dave, don't be a dick!" Phil teased lightly "Speaking of dick, I don't think Ollie will like it if we still don't know our lines by next week, so we should probably go for another run-through."
Dave started to move his hands like Ollie again
"You don't have the whole script memorized after 2 weeks?! What kind of actor are you?!"
"Don't Dave, I'll start laughing again!"
They only made it through a page of the second run-through because Dave kept doing the "Ollie Voice" and Phil couldn't concentrate
*********************************************
4:00...
They'd been there for half an hour...
And Ollie was still ranting
Phil had stopped listening about 10 minutes in... actually, that was a bit generous. He'd probably clocked out by the 5 minute mark. It was Dave's fault, really, for improvising onstage. That was the reason he started laughing. It never happened, Phil was always great at staying in character, people saw it as a challenge, to make him corpse onstage
So far, only Dave had succeeded. And he had a consistent success streak
Of course, Phil wasn't completely innocent. After Dave started it, he had to get him back somehow - besides, they always ended up laughing when they faced each other head-on
They enjoyed it
The kids loved it
Ollie clearly didn't see the funny side
"How hard is it not to laugh onstage? Neither of you are that funny, surely it should be a simple task!"
When Ollie's back was turned, Dave looked at Phil and mouthed you hungry? That earned a silent shhhh from Phil, who was not about to enrage their director anymore - he actually wanted to go home at some point today
"You two are impossible!" Continued the angry blond man, still not looking behind him "You've ruined my production, you've ruined my reputation-"
You ruined my dream journal! Dave mouthed, laughing as Phil tried desperately to hold back his own laughter
"It's like watching a 5 year old throw a fit." Phil murmured, quiet enough that only Dave heard it
"In those silly jumpers, he looks like one too."
"How far could you push him in a pram?"
This time, it was Dave's turn to clamp his hand over his own mouth, trying to avoid any sound coming out
"Odds on 6 meters?"
"No please, I insist!" Barked an irate Ollie "Your turn! Since you're so intent on interrupting everything I do, what is it? Spit it out!"
"Just agreeing with you, Ollie." Phil said quickly, fearing that laughing in his face was a very bad idea
That seemed to set Ollie off on yet another tirade and he started to pace again. For a while, both Dave and Phil were silent. Then Dave turned to face him
"Y'know what this reminds me of?"
"..."
"My neighbour used to have this chihuahua-"
Neither of them could hold it in, and the torrent of angry yapping from Ollie afterwards was completely worth it
*********************************************
"What do you mean 'not well'? You were perfectly fine yesterday!"
"It caught up to me, Ollie, I told you there was a bug going around. Dave went off with it, you'll probably get it next."
"So help me if either of you give me your disease-"
"We should be alright by tomorrow, we can pick things up then."
It took a little (more like a lot) of convincing, but eventually Ollie caved. As soon as he'd hung up, Phil turned to Dave with a confident smile
"That's him off our case for the rest of the day!"
"He really has no idea what day it is," Dave would've been lying if he said he wasn't a little downhearted by that, but it didn't matter much in the grand scheme of things "and he says he cares."
"He's all talk, no action. Or height."
They both laughed, some jokes never got old
"So," Phil took a neatly wrapped parcel from his bag and handed it to him "the celebrating begins!"
Dave took the package and opened it, and his eyes instantly widened. Never did he thing he would be holding a vintage polaroid camera in his hands
"How did you even find this?"
"You'd be surprised what you find in Camden market."
"You actually managed to fend of Tish to get me a gift?"
"Don't even mention her name," Phil groaned "I wanted to go on my own, but you know what she's like. You mention Camden Market and she follows you like a bloodhound."
"I think it's just you." Dave adopted her voice "I just love you gay guys!"
"Right, I'm taking back the camera." Phil teased as he reached for it, only to be swatted away by a laughing Dave
"Get Tish to go with you!"
Managing to avoid Phil's grasping, he pointed the camera in front of both of them and snapped a selfie
"Dave! Fuck's sake!"
"This is going on my fridge!"
"You better not!"
"It is!"
Once the laughter subsided, Dave looked at the developing photo. It was as if, somehow, he'd managed to capture the chaos and joy and everything he liked in their friendship.
Part of him wished more people remembered his birthday, he wouldn't even have minded Ollie giving him a visit!
"Thanks for this, mate. Means a lot."
"You OK, Davey?"
"Yeah, I just..." He looked at the photo, then back at Phil with a smile "I'm fine."
Phil knew that wasn't true, he gave a firm pat on the knee. A silent assurance that, all teasing aside, he was there for him
"I just feel..." David started to alternate between clenching and unclenching his fists and pressing the pads of his fingers to his thumbs, trying to find the words "... just feel a bit invisible sometimes."
"Invisible?"
"Yeah. I mean, Ollie's the main guy: writer, director, producer... all the stuff. You're Phil Proctor, lead in every performance - which you're great at! But... then there's me. Just... Dave."
Phil hated hearing his mate talk about himself like that, especially when his skills were so obvious to him. He picked up Dave's Polaroid camera and held it up
"You," he said with a smile "are Dave Parkes. Future filmmaker and producer."
"Is this you haggling for a role?"
"Well... maybe!" Phil joked, wrapping an arm around Dave's shoulder "But I know that you're gonna make films that put these plays we're doing to shame."
"That's not hard!"
After that day, Dave started to look forward to his birthday again
*********************************************
Dave had been off all day, and he'd have been lying to himself if he said he didn't know why
It meant a lot, that he was the first person Phil told about his new job opportunity, he was filled with pride to think of his best friend finally escaping Legz Akimbo prison
Even so, there was a tiny part of him that wasn't happy about it at all. At first, he assumed it was jealousy. Phil was free to live his life, while he was trapped doing educational plays for kids that didn't care, with a director that seemed to hate his guts
As he sat in his living room, pressing the pads of his fingers against his thumbs in a self-soothing manner, his thoughts were interrupted by the sound of his phone buzzing. He heard a familiar voice at the end:
"Davy!"
"You alright, Phil? How does it feel to have nearly finished your life sentence?"
"Good. Really good, yeah."
Dave knew Phil well enough to know something wasn't right
"Thought you were meant to be a good actor!" He joked "Now tell me what's really going on."
"Alright, you got me." Phil managed a small chuckle "I'm not ungrateful or anything, trust me - I've wanted out of here since day 3!"
"So what's the problem-"
"Is this a bad idea?"
Out of all the things Phil could've said, Dave wasn't expecting that
"You what?"
"I want to get out, I have for ages, but what's gonna happen after I leave? It'll only be you and Ollie left."
"He spoke to you."
No answer. Not that there needed to be one
"Yeah. He did. Usually, I don't listen so much. But he said all this stuff about how I'm such a "bad friend" for leaving you behind. I know he's just saying it to hurt me, probably doesn't even meant it. But you know how I get."
Dave did. Phil had opening up about the pressure he felt to constantly make the right decision. Theatre was a difficult business, one wrong step and you could fall hard. There were many moments where Phil would need that extra bit of reassurance, just a push in the right direction
Not that he'd always ask for it, that was still tricky for him. But, when he did, Dave was there for him
And, even though he'd have loved to keep seeing his best mate every day at rehearsals, keep making him corpse onstage, and ranting about Ollie and all the other things that they did to keep themselves sane, he knew he had to be there for him here too
"Phil, you've earned this! Don't worry about me, I'm a grown up - especially when you see me stood next to Ollie!" He heard Phil laugh on the other end, which was a good sign in his books "This is about you, mate! You'll do great!"
"It'll be nice to work with a director that doesn't keep trying to lob chairs at me."
"Exactly!"
The conversation started to flow into a number of topics: films they watched recently, the most recent episode of their favourite show, their current (Phil's final) future disaster they were part of thanks to Ollie Plimsolls. Phil's departure almost forgotten until the end of the call
"Showtime next week," he said humourlessly "if it wasn't in front of kids, I'd do it tipsy."
"Not very professional, are you?" Dave teased
"No, but I think I deserve it."
A pause. Dave's fists clenched and unclenched and each finger pressed against his thumb again; with show week happening so close and the fact he wouldn't see his closest friend anymore was eating at him. Come the week after, things wouldn't feel the same. Well, they wouldn't be the same
He didn't realise he wasn't talking until Phil did:
"Odds on Ollie blowing a blood vessel tomorrow?"
Despite himself, Dave laughed
"Very probable, I'll send you a video."
"Davey?"
"Yeah mate?"
"I'll call you next week."
"OK."
Another pause
"Let me know when the ad comes out."
"Promise."
That's how the call ended: with Dave Parkes, alone in his living room, trying not to think about the week after next
Because he was used to the late nights, the rehearsal stresses, the tantrums and the bullying
What he wasn't used to was going about it alone
*********************************************
"Why are you doing this, Dave?"
It was the first time he'd seen any sort of genuine care towards him being shown by Ollie. As if this was the moment he realised that Dave was exhausted. As if he finally felt even the slightest bit of sympathy
Dave looked at him. He wondered if, in another life, they could've actually gotten along. Maybe, if things were different, Legz Akimbo could've really been a trio. Three friends working together, collaborating and supporting each other
But that was a universe lightyears away...
"I just can't stand you, Ollie."
... In this lifetime, they were just too far apart
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
"Phil! Wait up!"
Upon hearing his name, he turned around, surprised to see Dave running towards him. Phil's shoulder's were grabbed as his best mate caught his breath
"Dave, what happened?"
"I quit!"
"What?" Phil's eyes widened "I mean, that's great but-"
"Remember what you said ages ago? About me being a filmmaker? Well, you were right. I wrote something months ago and I sent it off to Jed Hunter this morning!"
"What did he say?"
Dave's eyes seemed to light up even brighter, his whole face glowed like a lantern about to be launched into the air
"Phil... I'm gonna be a producer."
For a few seconds, Phil was stunned into silence. Then, his arms opened slightly
"Can I-"
His question was answered by Dave pulling him into a bone-crushing hug. That's where they stayed for what felt like a joyful eternity, a buzzing clump of laughter and freedom
"Phil?"
"Yeah?"
"... Odds on you helping me out?"
Phil pulled away, slightly confused, but wth a glimmer of excitement in his eye
"As long as I'm not playing Joseph the carpenter." He joked
"No, but I did write a role with you in mind. Jed said you'll have to audition... but I'm producing, so my say goes-"
"Why are you doing this, Dave? I mean, it's great but.." why me? Was the unspoken part What makes me worthy?
Dave wrapped an arm around Phil and beamed, as if he could see their successful futures right there and then
The struggles, the little achievements, the pushbacks and the pull forwards
He could see the films he'd create, the roles Phil would go on to play, and the awards they both would eventually win - both seperately and for their collaborations
But, right now, he answered Phil's question with the only thing he knew for sure:
"Because you're my best mate, Phil."

It’s a scary thought that he doesn’t think will ever go away and if there’s the possibility of that happening, of him becoming the disgusting monster that his father was, or is, then maybe the world is better off without him, regardless of what PJ’s dad, his mum’s new husband, has to say.

home is where the heart is. (ao3) - orphan_account
Summary: 16 year old Daniel Howell had always felt out of place in his dad's fancy apartment or under the Singaporean sun. Life was not bad, but being the son of a British expatriate banker divorcee with commitment issues meant that there was never a home.
Inspired by the only constant in his life, a similar aged British youtuber by the name of Phil Lester, Dan decides to move to his supposed homeland Britain on a whim, in the hopes of escaping his bubble of isolation, and maybe find the place where he truly belonged.
Somehow Dan lands himself in one of the few notorious all boys boarding schools in Britain, one that has bizarre traditions, vicious inter-house competition and way too many attractive boys; and a roommate who had been Dan's best friend all along, even if Phil Lester hadn't known it.
Dan finally found home.
In My Way (ao3) - INeverHadMyInternetPhase (BirbWatcher)
Summary: Daniel Howell is 21 and Britain’s newest star. He’s just been cast in the much-anticipated film adaption of Last Man Standing, the popular teen fantasy novel with a huge fanbase hanging off his every tweet. In other words, Dan has made it big.
Phil Lester couldn’t care less. He’s a stressed out PHD student working part time at a bookshop while he struggles to get into post-production. He’s 26 and still lives in a tiny flat on the fifth floor of a building with a lift more broken than it is in use. He loves books, but he thinks big film adaptions screw with the plot too much.
Needless to say, Phil is less than impressed when Last Man Standing is getting filmed in his hometown. And he certainly doesn’t want anything to do with obnoxious, arrogant, so irritatingly perfect leading actor Daniel Howell.
Maths Notes and Flower Doodles (ao3) - DavineNaughter
Summary: Phil Lester is that dorky guy who always doodles on everything. Dan Howell is the school's most popular boy and star athlete. They don't see much of each other, and when they do it generally involves punches and Phil getting injured. But then they're sat next each other in a couple classes and paired together on a project, and that may change. Throw in some homophobic douchebags, a super sassy sexual Chris, and a sprained wrist, who knows what could happen. Based on a Tumblr post.
meet me at red dragon (ao3) - watergator
Summary: phil lester is a single 31 year old with a wild eight year old, ethan. dan howell is single 27 year old with a quiet five year old, noah.
when they meet at their son's swim lessons, for some reason phil can't get the pretty brown eyed stranger out of his head.
Not On Fire (ao3) - ctrling
Summary: Dan Howell is not on fire . . .
Dan doesn't do friends. He hangs out with Louise because it makes his parents happy, sets fires in his free time to keep his anger at bay, tries his best to go unnoticed, and dreams of the day when he'll go off to college in a completely different state with new people. Phil Lester, the new guy with a police officer for a father, is definitely not, in any way, a part of his plan.
But Louise has a different plan for him, one with befriending Phil Lester at the top of Things He Absolutely Must Do, despite how he feels about the situation. And every single time he turns around, it seems she has a new idea to help the budding friendship.
Now, Dan's struggling to please Louise and his parents, maintain good grades that will get him into a good college, and find time to do the one thing that actually calms him down.
So maybe being an arsonist in high school wasn't one of his better ideas.
. . . but everything around him is.
The Era of the Wingless Angel (ao3) - americanphancakes
Summary: The man, the myth, the legend! Singer-Songwriter Dan Howell is celebrating the 10th anniversary of his debut with a tell-all interview. How did his father’s departure from his life affect his songwriting? Why did his marriage to his background dancer fail? And are he and producer Phil Lester romantically involved? Tune in to find out.
Through the Window (ao3) - Tastefulcucumber
Summary: Phil just moved in next door to Dan Howell, the amazing basketball star and winner of the best hair in mock elections. Phil can’t help but noticing that a room in his new house has a window that leads straight into Dan’s bedroom, and he happens to spend quite of bit of time in said room.
(when you gonna realise) it was just that the time was wrong (ao3) - The_Blonde
Summary: "His notebook is divided into five columns, as much as he can remember. I’m with Dan. I’m not with Dan. Dan is far away from me. I love him, but I shouldn’t. I love him, but I can’t. Dan Howell; an impossible boy turning up in all variations of impossible dreams. The whole reason. The loss of something that you never quite found in the first place."
Or: Phil works in a coffee shop. Or at an animal sanctuary. Or at a university. Maybe he's a Youtuber. Maybe he runs an editing firm. Sometimes he's in the 1920s. In all of these places he has dreams. In all of these places he is in love with Dan. It's just trying to work out which time is the right one.

ch 5 is so good in showing crimeboys' opinions of each other through how that changes in this chapter
wilbur judges tommy with the standards he and niki with q, the throne candidates, were held up too and its frustrating to him that tommy can act more childish and still be considered at the heir
and its not that wilbur doesnt know, that tommy is unaware of the reason of his stay in pandorinne, to me it seems like hes almost looking for a reason to be critical of tommy (not that tommy makes that hard) bc niki (and he) and even quackity have been working hard to be good candidates for the throne and now tommy gets to just join in
also tommy insulting wilbur and phil forcing wil to spend more time with him isnt helping that
what wilbur fails to realise, that while tommy is still royalty, the manners standards arent the only different thing about tommys upbringing
as could be seen at the market, but even before, with tubbo, jack and even puffy, tommy is much less detached from servants and other people in the kingdom, where the people in the castle, while not necessarily evil, are very secluded in the castle and detached from the common people, even tho many make important decisions about their lives
and we get to see tommy disprove this prejudice in wilbur
and wilbur also learns that tommy isnt completely stupid in terms of strategy
now what is more interesting to me is how tommy sees wilbur
taking it from the start, while tommy recognises that wilbur doesnt like him all too much, for tommy hes the first new person he talks with in a less formal setting, wilbur doesnt scold him for cursing and generally they managed to have a chill pretty casual conversation before wilbur got pissy about tommy insulting him
and even after that wilbur will slip into banter with tommy (I love their urge to keep insulting each other lol), tommy doesnt know wilbur is kinda being forced to hang out with him on all the occasions they do so he quickly becomes a familiar person
theres never any punishment for what he says to wilbur, apart from wilbur himself and even niki encourages his making fun of wilbur
also I dont think tommy really realises the status imbalance between them
they did have the talk about wilbur not official having any status, but tommy doesnt see himself as anything more than wilbur
so to tommy wilbur is a stuck up guy who acts like the adults in criticising basically everything tommy does, but also he will go and insult tommy back and he keeps spending time with him (unknowingly to tommy very unwillingly) so I dont think tommy actually hates wilbur, he just enjoys making fun of him and knows he can afford it
as someone who spends a lot of time with boys rose!tommys age (scouting, also its not like im that much older) i adore how accurately he acts
any touristic tips if I want to visit pandorinne?
I love the city so much, the canals system sounds super sick and I absolutely adore markets they just have such a cool atmosphere
yeah the thing is wilbur understands that it's not exactly tommy's fault he's acting the way he is, because he isn't even aware of the position he's in. but it's still frustrating to witness. it's frustrating to listen to sam and phil both consider tommy a viable heir when tommy isn't even trying to get their approval, unlike what quackity and niki have gone through their entire childhoods.
but yes what's more interesting is the difference in upbringing between the pandorinne trio (quackity niki wilbur) and tommy. although valbroek is a fairly wealthy city and tommy still lived a very lavish noble lifestyle, he had a lot more freedom there than he has in pandorinne. he was able to go out on his own and interact with the people of his city. he's seen their struggles firsthand. his people aren't just theoreticals to him, they all have faces. which contrasts with quackity, niki, and wilbur who were rarely allowed to leave the palace without armed escorts growing up. and along with that, while tommy goofs off, he's not completely stupid when it comes to strategy. he's just untrained.
meanwhile, yes, tommy can definitely recognize that wilbur doesn't like him all that much but he thinks it's more of a game than it actually is. he thinks that the bickering is something they both enjoy. while he obviously knows his relationship with wilbur is nothing like his relationship with tubbo, there's the familiarity of a friendship where the two of you just insult each other all the time and pretend you can't stand each other when you're actually close. and the fact that wilbur keeps playing into the bickering, and there's never any punishment for what he says to wilbur like you pointed out, only affirms this belief.
not only does tommy not see himself as better than wilbur, he actually looks up to wilbur. it's not obvious and he's not even that aware of it himself, but wilbur is the son of the Consil. he's older than tommy and seems to know so much about what's going on in the palace, but he's less intimidating than niki and quackity since they're the potential heirs. tommy would rather die than admit it, but yknow when you have a 12-13 year old who interacts with a 17-18 year old and they think the older teen is so cool? yeah, that's tommy with wilbur.
lol I'm glad tommy is an accurate 13 year old boy. I did no research for how to write 13 year old boys I'm just going off of how tommy acted in the early days of dsmp along with my own distant memories of being in middle school
I'm glad you like the city!! Hmm tourist tips for Pandorinne... well the Lavender Market is one of the best parts of the city, as Wilbur told Tommy in that chapter. Canals are mainly used for the transport of goods and supplies, but later in the evenings you might find a man with a small boat willing to give you a scenic ride, if you have the right coin of course. There's also a few temples dedicated to the different gods littered throughout the city, which are always worth visiting to get a blessing or two. And make sure to go down to the docks directly to get fish so fresh it's practically still blinking! Of course, you can't miss the cookshops. If you bring your own meat or fish, they'll cook it up for you for a fraction of the cost you'd pay if you didn't provide they ingredients. They can even bake it in some pastry dough for a savory pie if you request it! Wealthier nobles tend to avoid cookshops though, since there's not a lot of heavy regulation on food distribution in the city...

What do you think about las nevadas and Quackity’s arch, about Wilbur’s revival and his arch and ending? I’m interested im hearing your thoughts
I think Quackity’s arc and Las Nevadas was going to happen irregardless of Doomsday and the fall of L’manberg.
Quackity had already created El Rapids/Mexican L’manberg, and before the events of doomsday it’d already been in the works of being abandoned.
Quackity’s arc also started before doomsday, as he’d been a victim and target in every prior arc. His revenge plot with the butcher army, although extreme, I don’t think was entirely unwarranted with the people in his target book. Wilbur was a target but Wilbur was dead and crossed off, the same with Schlatt.
Next was Techno and Dream, and Techno would be the easier of the two to target just because Dream, at the time, had many people on his side.
I still think Techno had in some sense deserved some sort of call out/punishment. He didn’t and couldn’t just ‘retire’ without the consequences of what he did. He was not guiltless in his execution despite what he claimed. I think the way of the butcher army was very non L’manbergian, but despite involvement of the cabinet at the time, it was Quackity pulling the strings, and L’manberg trying to fight back against people who opposed and harmed those within. L’manberg, excluding the literal declaration of independence, has never been the one to cause problems. It retaliates, and in the case of Quackity, he retaliated to an extreme degree.
Quackity though had always had a want for power. If he’d not gone with Las Nevadas, let’s not forget his original plan was to revive Schlatt (this was before he even had knowledge of a revive book existing mind you, his plan was to get his body parts back together and he claimed he knew what to do from there), and use him as a political puppet and to start a new nation again.
Then he made Mexican L’manberg/El Rapids with his fiancé, and they fought for recognition, and they faced hardship. Quackity decided he wanted to make a place safe for himself and his fiancés long before L’manberg had fallen, so I believe it would’ve happened regardless. It’s the natural direction for his character to have gone. He was always second in command, it was his first time to lead, and to protect.
Quackity’s arcs make sense for his character, and I like that his doesn’t end in death, and honestly was left pretty vague. We don’t know what came of Karl or Sapnap (yet? Karl says he still wants to finish tftsmp and has plans to), but for Quackity either he moves on entirely, and has learned a lesson and helped destroy what he wanted to, and he is officially free from his ‘weak’ and ‘always the side man’ stereotypes, he’s proven himself. He could also return to his fiancés and work to build that again, is next step, there’s a lot he could do. I think his endings and arcs were good and though I personally wish we got to see more with his deal with Glatt and like, I so badly wished something had come up with him eating Schlatt’s heart, it was good.
Las Nevadas or something similar was always going to happen, as was the direction Quackity went. Like I said, he’d dealt with Techno (sort of), he moved onto Dream, it all just makes sense. His story was fine and I have no real qualms with it. I also thing it would’ve still happened whether Doomsday happened or not,
As for Wilbur’s revival, god I’ll be honest I fucking hate how it happened. We all knew it was going to happen, I mean directly after Doomsday Ghostbur wanted Wilbur to be revived, and Eret and Phil had been so immensely close to reviving him. Ghostbur had seen limbo and seen those who were dead, but it was difficult to latch onto Wilbur.
I wish that that had been the successful revival, or at least a revival similar. Maybe not in January when it occurred, maybe closer to when Tommy had died in prison.
I don’t like that the first person he in depth talked to was Phil, I hate that Phil acted like he’d been so distraught the entire time Wilbur was gone but the moment he came back he literally sent him away when Wilbur tried to spend time with him. Wilbur tried to spend time with his neglectful father even after he killed him, and that man who said things like ‘Ghostbur is just a shell of him’ and ‘I miss Wilbur’ and ‘I regret what I did’, said he was busy and sent him away. He never even really apologized?
I don’t like that he was revived by Dream.
I don’t like that cDream got to sink his hands further into things, things that honestly his character didn’t need to do. Dream narratively already held so much power that he didn’t need more.
Imagine with me, for a second, that Dream thought he was the master of life and death. That he was immortal, that the reason he was in prison and people hadn’t killed him yet was because he could control them with hanging life itself over their heads. He thought he had the most power one could possibly have.
Now imagine he escapes, which was something that if he’d been put in prison no matter the way would’ve always happened. I’d he’d been captured or whatever, he was always going to get out and try to take control again.
Imagine he tries to track down Tommy, or something of the sort, and he’s running and he runs into Tommy’s house, but Tommy isn’t there. Instead it’s Wilbur, staring him down.
“Oh, hello again. Miss me?”
And Dream has to let it sink in that the one, the only thing that gave him power over everyone else, doesn’t matter because *he* didn’t revive Wilbur, and he doesn’t know who did, or how. And with Wilbur in the picture, he can’t sink his hands into Tommy the way he did exile, and he can’t use his words because Wilbur always wins with words.
For a moment, he’s pitiful.
I think how the story actually went didn’t give Wilbur much potential to shine being revived. We had so many great starts, and the tragedy lies in we didn’t get the projected 11-13 streams that were supposed to happen with the burger van era. Sure, we got hitting on 16, but that would’ve been the last 4ish streams.
Wilbur had set up with Ranboo this, understanding. He didn’t like Ranboo because Ranboo was a self claimed centralist who wasn’t really centralist. Wilbur set up that he had this way of thinking where if you did one bad thing it made you bad forever, but this strict rule applied most to himself, he would write off everyone else’s bad with nuance except for his own. He said he felt like a monster. And in talking with Ranboo he said he felt like a monster, that everyone dances so cautiously around him waiting for a slip up so they can go ‘i told you so! he’s bad!’, he said he felt if it’d not been Dream in the prison, he’d be.
And it was Ranboo saying he understood, and explaining his own problems that made Wilbur realize that he wasn’t alone. Ranboo was the only person at that time willing to give him a complete fresh start, a fresh chance. I wholeheartedly think if we’d got those streams, Wilbur would’ve helped bring out Ranboo’s truth, the side he’d taken, which was and would always be those he cared most about. He’d chosen a side, whether he admitted it or not, and it was always going to be Tommy, Tubbo, and Michael. I think Wilbur would’ve helped him stand up for that side, give him that backbone and confidence.
Meanwhile Ranboo would’ve provided what Wilbur needed, a middle ground, and teach him that not everything is black and white there’s nuance and middle ground. They were two people with opposing views that had started to open up and understand each other and I think if we’d gotten that, Revivebur would’ve gone in a different direction.
I think he was underutilized, and I made a post not long ago about my opinions on that and how I felt about the endings so I won’t repeat myself, but I like what revivebur could’ve been. I do like how he reacts finding out about exile, and I wish we would’ve gotten that earlier in the story and that he would’ve acted on it further. Wilbur has for the most part been a pacifist, but he stood up for his friends and family and his values go out the window if you hurt them, and Dream was already past the line.
I don’t think Wilbur would’ve *killed* him, but I think he could’ve been used in Dream’s downfall.
I will not acknowledge ‘allegory for death’ Utah and his ending.
I think my previous ideas of him being revived earlier, and in a different way would’ve benefitted the story much better, and it was implied he was going to! Not only with Eret and Phil’s attempt at revival, but when Foolish had joined the server he’d talked with Tommy and some others about how he had demigod powers, before the lightning and everything else. He was a Totem of Life and Death and on one of his first days in the sever he’d stated he could bring people back to life. I remember a lot thought and theorized that somehow Tommy would get his help with Wilbur… rather than you know, going into the prison a handful of times.
I also just, don’t like Ghostbur’s ending. Ghostbur is his own person, yes, but he’s also a piece of Wilbur. Wilbur is missing a piece in Limbo. I don’t get how that works, I don’t get why they didn’t fuse or merge, or like, why he’s still there after Wilbur left to fucking Utah.
I know it was something *difficult* to do, but they’ve done prerecorded things before. I wish when he attempted to do his apology to Ghostbur, rather than tie Niki into it, he could’ve actually apologized to Ghostbur. We saw the veil of limbo thin before, after the Final Disc Confrontation Wilbur was able to tell Tommy good job from limbo. He could’ve done something to cause that again, and apologize.
Ghostbur could forgive him, say he understands, that he’s a man not yet convinced, he was never the dragon to be slain, something, and then silence, and then they’re halves united again as one, or something.
Due to irl reasons just, after Wilbur was revived not enough happened, a what seemed to have been planned and what seeds were sewn to happen was good! We just never saw it because of communication and rushing. Fuck the only reason we got ho16 was because no one told Wilbur they were doing the break out or that Ranboo was going to die, which meant all he had planned had to be scrapped. Just sucks.
I like revivebur in theory and what he could’ve been and I try to pretend what happened, mainly the most of the apology streams and his ending, didn’t happen.
