Stories I Love (Part 2)

Again, nothing personal with the order listed here, it's mostly chronological. Tumblr doesn't like a ton of hyperlinks, so the list is in two parts. Here's Part 1.

Though, now is a good time to point out a few major gaps in this list. One, I don't care for celebrity, sports, or sweat/fart transformations very much, so that eliminates a few prolific authors. Two, some authors have much bigger websites elsewhere, like @2xskin or @takeovertales, and I haven't been consistent about favoriting works that could be found in two places. Three, a special shoutout to @piosantaibhseil's very long body swap series which would be tricky to link otherwise.

Also, a special shoutout-- I don't think my blog would have nearly as much of a footprint without @bodyswap-possession-shapeshift's valuable reblog contributions to this community. He remains one of the fastest and most consistent about showing support to all creators on his lists, and I hope he knows how much that support has been appreciated over the years.

So there was another Server event on discord where we were given different color palettes to create a Pretty Cure fan series, my palette being; Royal Blue, Teal, Lime Green, Fuchsia, Orange. Using those colors i whipped up;

Synopsis:

While working on a mandatory cyber group project, Hitomi stumbles upon an ancient hard drive with coordinates to the Mysterious abandoned dorm where she meets the enigmatic PEIR (PEIROVACS), an advanced AI who presents her the Hyperlink-Cell and tasks her with restoring balance to a parallel dimension known as the Primeval Colossus Realm. Realizing she can't do it alone, she invites her group mates —Yasuko, Sara, Kaori, and Jina to help her with this mission. As they transform into Cures they form the Cyber Rift Pretty Cure Code: Kaiju. Will they be able to stop the realm from colliding, save the corrupted Kaiju’s. hello!

i had a question regarding the photo repository and my specific art techniques

i like to make art pieces by digitally tracing the outlines of an animal in a photo and then painting inside those outlines [but when i say outlines, they're often very detailed/still look a lot like the original animal], and i've had people ask to commission these types of pieces from me. does this count as transformative use for the purposes of your photos?

Glad you asked! I’ll do a full post soon on the copyright language I used for those terms and why, but the TL;DR is yes, what you’re doing absolutely qualifies and you’re welcome to use the photos.

The goal with those terms is to say hey, if you’re making art that doesn’t involve feeding photos into an AI, you’re in the clear. That could be tracing them or making a collage or photoshopping David Tennant into places he’s really not supposed to be. Literally any art practice that changes, adds, removes, remixes, re-imagines… it all counts!

What I ask people to check with me first about is using the whole photos without any artistic interpretation or changes - and I only care about that because it helps me retain control of the copyright for them. So like if someone scrapes a whole ton of the photos for their own site, they can’t claim they just “found them online and didn’t know ownership” because I’ve talked to anyone who reposted them and made sure there’s appropriate credit listed. This doesn’t mean you can’t use them for that sort of thing! I’ve so far approved every request of that type, such as folk using photos for moodboards, typesetting, 3D modeling, and home-use game board pieces. I plan to continue to say yes as often as possible. Just drop me a note to ask. (I suggest folks shoot a quick email for this type of request so I have a record of saying yes).

So please do go forth and use the repository photos for your art! Tagging me/hyperlinking the site isn’t mandatory if you post it online but, spoiler, it makes my day to see what people create!

Title: Possible Guide To Basic Code On AO3

Summary:

This is a list of helpful tips and tricks I have come across in my time using AO3. I by no means know how to code, this was all found through internet searches and trial and error. Basically a whole lot of 'fuck around and find out'. It includes things like the basics of creating a site skin (that I muddled my way through) like adding personalised colours/font/text size, how to block tags permanently (so you don't have to filter it out of every search manually), and how to add cool things like hyperlinks/drop down menus/coloured text/ bold & italics text anywhere (I know it shows you this one but it took me way too long to find this feature).

This is something I'm making up as I learn myself, so if it doesn't work please forgive me. 🙏
