“There are only so many books on Ukraine we can review each month,” an editor from a major British newspaper tells me at one of the country’s largest literary festivals. He looks a bit uncomfortable, almost apologetic. He wants me to understand that if it were up to him, he’d review a book on Ukraine every day, but that’s just not how the industry works.
Since the start of Russia’s full-scale invasion, I’ve had a glimpse into how several industries work: Publishing, journalism, and the broader world of culture, including galleries and museums. Even before the big war, I knew more than I wanted to about how academia works (or rather doesn’t) when it comes to Ukraine. A common thread among all these fields is the limited attention they allocate to countries that do not occupy a place among the traditional big players of imperial politics.
Cultural imperialism lives on, even if its carriers often proclaim anti-colonial slogans. It thrives in gate-keeping, with editors and academics mistrusting voices that don’t sound like those higher up the ladder, while platforming those who have habitually been accepted as authoritative. “We’ve done Ukraine already” is a frequent response whenever you pitch an idea, text, or public event centering the country.
The editor who can’t keep publishing reviews of Ukraine-related books walks away, and I pick up a copy of one of the UK’s most prominent literary magazines to see their book recommendations. Out of a handful of reviews, three are on recent books about Russia. It seems like the space afforded to Russia remains unlimited. I close the publication to keep my blood pressure down.
Keeping my blood pressure down, however, is challenging. When my social media feeds aren’t advertising another production of Uncle Vanya, they’re urging me to splash out on opera tickets for Eugene Onegin. What happened to the dreaded “cancelling” of Russian culture? The Russia section in most bookshops I visit in the UK is growing daily with everything from yet another translation of Dostoevsky to accounts of opposition figures killed or imprisoned by the Kremlin.
The international media focus on the August 2024 release of Russian political prisoners was yet another example of how the more things change, the more they stay the same. While these released prisoners were provided with a global media platform to call for an end to “unfair” sanctions on “ordinary Russians,” there was no mention of the thousands of Ukrainian civilians who continue to languish in Russian jails.
The ongoing international emphasis on all things Russian goes hand in hand with a reluctance to transform growing interest in Ukraine into meaningful structural changes in how the country is perceived, reported on, and understood. Although there has been some improvement in knowledge about Ukraine since 2022, the move is essentially from having no understanding to having a superficial grasp.
Each time I read a piece on Ukraine by someone not well-versed in the country’s history and politics, my heart sinks. The chances are it will recycle historical cliches, repeat Kremlin propaganda about Russophone Ukrainians, or generalize about regional differences. And to add insult to injury, such articles also often misspell at least one family or place name, using outdated Russian transliterations. A quick Google search or a message to an actual Ukrainian could prevent these errors and save the author from looking foolish. Yet aiding this kind of colonial complacency seems to bother neither the authors nor the editors involved.
I often wonder what would happen if I wrote a piece on British or US politics and misspelt the names of historical figures, towns, and cities. How likely would I be to get it published? And yet the same standards do not apply when it comes to writing about countries that have not been granted priority status in our mental hierarchies of the world. We can misspell them all we like; no one will notice anyway. Apart from the people from those countries, of course. And when an exasperated Ukrainian writes to complain, I can almost see the editors rolling their eyes and thinking, “What does this perpetually frustrated nation want now? We’ve done Ukraine. Why are they never satisfied?”
It is not enough to simply “do Ukraine” by reviewing one book on the war, especially if it’s by a Western journalist rather than a Ukraine-based author. It’s not enough to host one exhibition, particularly if it is by an artist or photographer who only spent a few weeks in the country. Quickly putting together a panel on Russia’s war in response to a major development at the front and adding a sole Ukrainian voice at the last minute doesn’t cut it either. This box-ticking approach is unhelpful and insulting.
It is important to acknowledge that some Western media outlets have significantly enhanced their coverage of Ukraine over the past two and a half years. They have typically done so by dedicating time and resources to having in-house experts who have either reported from Ukraine for many years, or who are committed to deepening their knowledge enough to produce high-quality analysis. However, many of these outlets still seem compelled to provide platforms for individuals entirely unqualified to analyse the region. Surely this isn’t what balance means?
Since February 2022, more than 100 Ukrainian cultural figures have been killed in the war. According to the Ukrainian Ministry of Culture, by May 2024, over 2,000 cultural institutions had been damaged or destroyed. This includes 711 libraries, 116 museums and galleries, and 37 theatres, cinemas, and concert halls. In May 2024, Russia bombed Factor Druk, the country’s biggest printing house.
When I attended this year’s Kyiv Book Arsenal, Ukraine’s largest literary festival, each panel began with a minute of silence to honor the memory of colleagues killed in the war. All this is in addition to mounting military losses, many of whom are yesterday’s civilians, including journalists and creatives who have either volunteered or been drafted into the army. This is the current state of the Ukrainian creative industry.
To save time for Western editors, publishers, and curators, let me clarify what all of us perpetually frustrated Ukrainians want. We would appreciate it if they turned to actual Ukraine specialists when working on Ukraine-related themes. Not those who suddenly pivoted from specializing in Russia, or who feel entitled to speak authoritatively because they discovered a distant Ukrainian ancestor, or those who have only recently shown interest in Ukraine due to business opportunities in the country’s reconstruction. We would be grateful if they took the time to seek out experts who have been studying Ukraine long before it became fashionable, who understand the country in all its complexity, and who care enough to offer Ukrainians the basic dignity of having their names spelt correctly.
I like to fantasise about a time when editors of top Western periodicals will choose to review books on Ukraine not simply because the country is at war and they feel obliged to cover it now and again, but because these books offer vital insights into democracy, the fight for freedom, or the importance of maintaining unity and a sense of humor in times of crisis. I hope for a day when galleries will host exhibitions of Ukrainian art, not just because it was rescued from a war zone, but because the artists involved provide fresh perspectives on the world.
I also dream that we, the perpetually frustrated Ukraine specialists, will eventually be able to focus on our own scholarship and creativity rather than correcting the mistakes and misleading takes of others. This will happen when cultural institutions, publishing houses, universities, and newspapers acquire in-house experts whose knowledge of Ukraine and the wider region extends beyond Russia.

So today I decided to try and draw Skyfire, in the same sort of vein as I did the War Dawn trio, to try and practice him
I mostly chose Skyfire since I made a couple posts about him/skystar, so I figured might as well draw him, especially since he shows up far less than his counterpart
To be perfectly honest, I think I still need a lot of work in drawing these guys, as I’ve said many times before. I think I can get the heads, but I start to get wonky with the chests, and I really didn’t know how to do his shoulders
Anyways, so this design is based on his g1 design, mostly this one image I got of him
Tumblr media
But I also wanted to take some liberties with his design, at least in the head area. I’m realizing I didn’t actually change much of the rest of the body outside of omitting bits, as per usual
I don’t know, I think I like the head design, I just need a slight bit more consistency with it. Also in my head, he’s got a visor that drops down to completely cover his face, but the issue there comes in his colors. His glass is blue, so logically his visor mask would be blue too. But the top of his head is also blue, and it’s really the only other place the blue shows up in outside of the glass. So either I’d have to make his mask red and break consistency, or change the top of his helm to be another color (probably red) and get rid of one of the few pops of blue he has
I also just don’t know how to draw his chest things, the sides that pop out. So that’s why they look weird
And also, his shoulders are like the one part of him that’s circular outside of his helm, and it really annoys me because it sticks out so much to me, with basically the rest of him being rectangular
Also also, I don’t know how to do the arms either, in part because of the circular bits and also I don’t know how to make the triangular prisms
Where was I going with this? I don’t remember. All I know is that while I like his head, I’m well aware my drawings of him aren’t the best. I still need to learn how to draw Transformers properly. Which I’ve been saying for quite a while now, but I’m not sure how much progress I’ve made on that front
But anyways, last thing to talk about I suppose is the design itself. I quite like it, but because it doesn’t belong to any continuity, only being me tweaking his g1 design, I’m not sure what to use it for. I could use it for my own if I really wanted to, but of my random AU ideas, I don’t really know where to fit Skyfire in them. And would I make all subsequent designs for this hypothetical AU based on their g1 designs? I don’t really want to do that with Megatron, I don’t really like his helm design in g1 (it’s weird and ill defined to me)
But for now I guess, I have made this Skyfire design. Not the best work of mine, but I’m still trying to learn Transformers, so I’ll take it

The Problem of Susan Fic Recs
For many reasons, The Last Battle is probably the most contentious addition to the Narnia canon. The standout, though, has to be the infamous Problem of Susan, wherein the Pevensie children are all killed in a train crash and brought to Narnia 2 Electric Boogaloo aka heaven, then declare that Susan is no longer a friend of Narnia because of her interest in “lipsticks and nylons”. Hardly any time is spent on this, but the implications have been the ground for a lot of argument and discussion. What exactly would happen to Susan, and should it have happened? Over the years, dozens of fic writers have thrown their hats in the ring and weighed in on the subject, making the Problem of Susan almost a prism for the fandom: everyone shines through it a bit differently, resulting in a wide spectrum. Here’s some of the highlights under the cut.
http://shedletsky.com/blog/the-god-who-loves-you
Starting with the fic that coined the term, written by Neil Gaiman himself, this fic is a reflection and deconstruction of the idea that Susan would be able to find Narnia again by delving into the trauma that the experience of losing all her family at once as well as the social injustices that a young woman of her time would’ve faced, something that the narrative of The Last Battle never really addresses. It took off for a reason, as it presents a lot of good food for thought, but it’s also got some pretty weird shit that can feel like it’s conflating adulthood with edginess. Well worth a read for all the points it raises, but if you’re fond of canon you probably won’t like the way it takes a hammer to it.
Now this one is exactly what you’d want to read if you wanted some feel-good time. This story is probably the closest to how C S Lewis would’ve written Susan’s return to Narnia, detailing her rediscovering all the things she put away as well as what led up to her rejecting Narnia in the first place. It falls more to the end of being almost uncritical of canon, with the focus on Susan basically having the same sort of religious rediscovery that C S Lewis himself had in his life. Because of how she was treated in canon, that can be pretty frustrating, but the ending feels nothing short of joyous.
Swinging back to the other end of the spectrum, this fic is very critical of the idea of The Last Battle being a pretty happy ending for everyone, unambiguously stating that life is always worth living for all the Pevensie kids. It explores what their lives could’ve been like if they didn’t die, being a rebuttal of C S Lewis’ themes rather than a continuation of them while feeling equally as happy as the fic directly above.
And this story feels like a midway point between the above two. It dives really deep into the emotional damage that Susan would’ve suffered before and after the train crash in some absolutely gorgeous prose, showing both her and Aslan with great sympathy while maintaining that what happened to her is not a punishment in any way. Bittersweet and very, very good.
Heading back towards the more critical end of the spectrum, this fic presents a Susan who is not interested in finding Narnia again, only her family. She is very much a character straight out of an ancient myth rather than a teen trying to make sense of a senseless situation here, filled with determination as much as desperation. It’s probably the closest fic on here to having something close to a plot as well as a character study, with the exception of The Queen’s Return and one other:
Being a crossover with what’s pretty much the antithesis of the Chronicles of Narnia, His Dark Materials, it’s probably easy for you to guess which side of the spectrum this story falls on. It’s more of a HDM story than a Narnia one, but the two worlds blend together surprisingly well, and it gives us a rare look into a Susan who’s lived decades of her life when the story picks up. She’s pretty much the Professor and it is fascinating, as is everything left to interpretation by this gem of a fic that is ambiguous yet deeply satisfying.
¡And here’s Susan as a Doctor Who companion! This isn’t directly a Narnia story so much as it is one about two people much older than they look mourning the loss of their worlds, with a Susan who is a queen wise beyond her years. Reading it is like taking an ice shower. It doesn’t hold back on the grief, and as a result it manages to feel honest as it reaches a warm ending.
http://archiveofourown.org/works/24311
Despite also being a crossover, this is in some ways the opposite of touch the sky with two arms. Susan is more of an everyday young woman than a queen, and [SLIGHT SPOILERS] Narnia itself does feature directly. But y’know, that’s part of what makes fandom so interesting. Not everyone is going to have the same take on everything, and the ending of this leans more happy than melancholy.
¿A shipping fic that’s also a crossover with Peter Pan that features neither Neverland or Narnia? Yes, this one probably has the least to do with Narnia or Aslan, but it tells a very compelling story about living life and growing up, something that isn’t perfect but can be good if you find someone you want to spend your life with. Susan Pevensie and Wendy Darling are a really good couple, pinky promise.
Technically more a series of ensemble oneshots, but Susan features very prominently in a lot of them, and they will make you feel every feeling that everything else on this list might’ve given you. Satisfaction, devastation, simple joy, just go give it a shot.

A fitting Lenten read: The Darkness Divine by the Unitarian Universalist Rev. Dr. Kristen L. Harper.
ID: book pages titled "A Theology of Darkness," beginning with a poem titled "The Darkness Divine" [breaks added for readability] and continue into prose paragraphs:
" God resides in depths of darkness as in the light of sunbeams. The moon shines brighter surrounded by night and life is secure in the black waters of the womb.
As the night sky littered with stars demonstrates again and again, there is beauty in darkness and beauty in light— one no more brilliant then the other, one no more necessary than the other, one always complementing the other.
Without the heated darkness of the Universe, splitting neutrons, electrons, and protons from atoms, life and light would never be.
The task for us today is to recognize God in both — To see the divine in the rich brown earth, the textured black walnut, as well as the white snow and the pale pink jellyfish. To see the sacred in the panther and the swan. To embrace the dignity of the Black Madonna, as it is embodied in the Virgin Mary.
The task for us today is to look into the multifaceted colors of the onyx and see the miraculous spectrum of color produced in the prism of a diamond.
To begin the dismantling of our racist language, we first need a new theology of darkness—a new way to relate to the darkness, blackness, and brownness that surrounds us, and to the people whose skin is often reflected in our disempowering language. Poetry can help us cultivate a different relationship with and to blackness and darkness. In the darkness exists a time for rest, a time of regeneration and healing, a time of safety and nourishment, and a time of letting go to relax in God's embrace.
As a spiritual humanist, I believe that which we call God — the energetic force of love and creation — is within us and around us, connecting and empowering us as we move toward one another and through the world. While there are many definitions of theology, I lead with a theology rooted in relationship with one another, the earth, God, the spirit of life, all that is holy, and the higher good that can occur when we recognize and affirm our interdependence. This relationship, both conscious and unconscious, impacts how we operate in the world, how we view and treat others, and how we respond to injustices in which we play a part. "
Last image shows the back cover of the book, which has a blurb and then a pic of the author, a Black woman with dark hair and glasses smiling at the viewer, next to an about the author section:
" Too often in U.S. culture-and notably in faith communities— a culture of white supremacy is reinforced in damaging but unexamined ways.
In The Darkness Divine, minister and poet Kristen L. Harper confronts and unpacks the language, imagery, buzzwords, and cultural touchstones that demean and dehumanize Black people but are so commonplace they can easily escape notice.
More importantly, in a brilliant arrangement of essays and poems in the vein of Claudia Rankine, Harper lifts up the strength, beauty, and resilience of Black people and outlines a path forward. She invites readers to explore what they have learned and assimilated so they might de-center whiteness and stretch their understanding and imagination to radically transform perceptions of blackness.
While directed at her own Unitarian Universalist tradition, The Darkness Divine is a powerful and loving challenge to all those committed to the work of dismantling white supremacy.
Rev. Dr. Kristen L. Harper is the minister of the Unitarian Church of Barnstable, Massachusetts, where she has served for 18 years. Rev. Harper previously served in Ormond Beach, Florida. She received her D.Min from Meadville Lombard Theological School in 1999, and was only the second Black woman to be called to a Unitarian Universalist Congregation as sole minister. She has contributed to Voices from the Margins: An Anthology of Meditations and Centering: Navigating Race, Authenticity, and Power in Ministry. "

Its theory hour, guys, listen to me carefully
I have a theory about the Bayverse
Or at least what i saw of it, wich is.....roughly the three first movies ?
And i dont know if its an actual plausible theory or something that just fix my vision of the movies but here it is :
What if the Bayverses movies are entirely szen from human eyes ?
Like yeah its not the theory of the century, but it would actually explain a lot of the things transformers fans reproach to the licence.
1. Cybertronians and ESPECIALLY Decepticons are all the same ! Their design is boring and not so shiny and colorful in contrast to the G1 :
Yeah but if its from human eyes, try to think this way : Transformers are shown like humans remember them, when a giant robot from outespace try to kill you and destroy your city you dont look at what colors are in it are you ? The decepticons are very scary in Bayverse and it just make sense if its how humans remember them.
Same goes for their personnalities, Bumblebee and Optimus are ones of the very few Cybertronian to have an actual character design looking like the OG, thats because 1. Optimus is the leader, he is the one who talked the most with humans and is THE one who shared the most sociabilisation with them, same goes for Bumblebee who is a kind bot, that and his name softened some parts of his designs, like the horns that turned into antennas.
And a lot of Decepticons dont talk at all/are not personnificated. And sometimes change randomly their alt mode. Because how would you want human to remember wich giant murdering alien is standing in front of you ???
2. Optimus is extremely violent, far more than in others continuities. In fact....everyone is damn violent !!
Yeah well. Listen. You are a tiny squishy being caught in the middle of an Alien war of things very much bigger than you, of course you will remember the fight a lot more intense than they really were !
Us human were never attacked by a specie largely superior than ours (you know what i mean) and its kinda traumatic lmao.....
3. Some behaviors of bots are largely humanised ! At some point Bumblebee piss on people, Hot Rod (lord have mercy him and his damned french accent) is trying to charm the human ladies and by design, Skyfire seems very old grandpa. And we cant say transformers physically age like us human
Yeah well its no secret that we human are extremely ethnocentrists. We value our specie over the others and tend to anthropomorphise other species. It means we add some of our behaviors and social patterns to other species (like when a child say lions are mean because they kill gazelles).
And actually if you see Bayverse movies through the prism of our own specie view, than a lot of Bayverse make sense !!
And it was certainely not mean this way but listen 1. We cope like we can 2. Some of the ideas of Bayverse, like accents(NOT HOT ROD'S), or Shockwave being a Satellite were very VERY interesting ideas.
However, no amount of denial is enough to explain why Starscream is a Dorito.

Dipper and Mabel’s designs in Wild Pines AU :3 (+fun facts)
Tumblr media
1: The first thing you’re probably wondering is what the hell happens to Bill??? Well the whole portal situation happens but somehow through strategic planning and the power of brotherhood Ford agreed to open the portal but he and Stan captured Bill in a small prism once he went through. As soon as he was captured, Stan wanted to kill the little bastard but Ford decided a better fate. The boys decided to use the triangle as a power source for the Stan O’ War, creating a complex set of machinery that would continuously drain Bill’s power to use for the ship until returning it to him at night in bursts of strength that quickly go away and the cycle starts all over again. So in short, little Billy isn’t having a good time. The grunkles keep Bill’s existence a secret from the twins + Soos and Wendy. Surely that won’t have any lasting consequences, right?
2: And what happened to Fiddleford? Well, this timeline is built off the Monster Hunter Pines AU by @/doctorsiren as a means of a backstory and there, Fidds used to work with the Pines brothers alongside his wife Emma-May who was a badass mom who loved her family. But the portal test still happens and everyone was wearing their APS (acronym for the power suits) and when Fidds went through the portal, the electricity in the suit intertwined with the interdimensional energy and the poor hillbilly got electrocuted and fucking died. After the incident, Emma-May left the monster hunter force with little Tate, forever hating Ford because he killed her husband. Now Fiddleford haunts the Stan O’ War as a ghost and is still mad that Stan and Ford didn’t immediately kill Bill as soon as he was captured.
3: Speaking of Emma-May, she takes the role of Paisley in this AU. Tate’s the butcher guy (I forgot his name), The Northwest family is Donita Donata, and I was originally planning for Bill to be Zach but I decided Gideon fitted the role better. He still has a crush on Mabel but she hates him for mistreating her anomaly friends. Emma-May and Tate both despise Gideon, Preston, and Priscilla but they hate Ford more so they’re willing to team up with them to achieve their goals. They don’t actually wanna hurt the anomalies but they still don’t really like them because it reminds them of Fiddleford. They also think quite fondly of the twins, it’s just Stan and Ford they don’t like (Ford because he obviously killed Fiddleford and Stan because he supposedly “defended” him which isn’t true at all).
4: Stan and Ford’s designs are basically them on the canon Stan O’ War (y’know with the beanie and all that) but Stan still has his mullet from 30 years ago (embarassiiiiiiing).
5: All the other kids are their Monster Falls forms in this AU. This includes Candy, Grenda, Robbie, and all the other teenagers. The Pines + Wendy, Soos, and Pacifica are the only normal people here.
6: Dipper doesn’t wear his hat in this AU because it kept falling off during missions and Stan got tired of having to buy new hats for him all the time.
7: The Stan O’ War is always traveling around the world looking for anomalies, but it always returns to Gravity Falls at the end of the day. The ship hovers over the forest, ready to fly away when Ford detects a new anomaly somewhere in the world. The only time the Stan O’ War has landed was when Dipper and Mabel first walked into it for the first time. They don’t have to worry about gas bc…well, y’know why.
8: Also Stan is a werewolf in this AU because he’s one in the Monster Hunter Pines AU and I wanna stay timeline-accurate. He only transforms at night and he’s already got used to his family’s faces so he’s totally docile but the first night the twins were living in the Stan O’ War…oh boy.

Taurus/Scorpio Insights for June 2024
Tumblr media
Let me start of by saying that 3's and 9's seem to be quite relevant for these signs, so if you peep these angel numbers around you, take it as a confirmation that you're definitely on the right path.
Enjoy this month my stubborn beauties, you are heading towards a very meaningful summer. Continue below for your tarot readings.
This messages apply to Taurus/Scorpio risings, Moon, Sun, and even Venus.
Scorpio: Nine of Pentacles, The Chariot, and Three of Cups. Success and Stop from Prism Oracle
June will greet you with a fresh breath of air, Scorpio. After what might have felt like a long storm for these past few months is now finally dissipating into a beautiful clear sky. You will feel very motivated and with plenty of willpower to achieve a lot of things during this month. There is a lot of chances that you'll be having a solo vacation and basking in not just the feeling of abundance, but the material forms of it. Finances will not be an issue for you this month as you will be using your drive towards these matters, so if you're still feeling stuck in the mud money wise, rest assure that things will be resolved. There will also be plenty of celebrations and happiness surrounding your friend circle as well. You will be feeling emotionally supported by your loved ones, and perhaps even expanding your own social network by going out a bit more than often. You're definitely being encouraged to leave behind the hermit energy, and be out in nature or social settings more than ever. Your magnetic and mysterious appeal will be naturally attracting those around you, which can land you into even more abundance during this month. Expect lots of traveling or even getting a new vehicle as well.
The experiences from this months will be confirming every step along the way just how much effort you've put on yourself on the past months, and all the things that you've been able to achieve so far. Even if your current life might not be exactly what you would define as success, remember that this is a feeling after all, and even those who have an abundant material world might lack the feeling of success within them. Sit down to think of all the ways in which you've accomplished small to big goals in your life, and truly feel grateful for them. The universe is inviting you to stop, reflect, and collect your thoughts, perhaps even take a break for a bit. In what ways have you associated a break with stagnancy or laziness? How have you handled your inner world when things slow down a bit or you're put in a position of having to re-direct your path? Slowing down is actually quite necessary for you Scorpio, and that is one of the primary lessons to learn from your sister sign Taurus.
There's also a mention of sadness peeking through on both decks, so its likely that the universe is truly trying to help you let go of anything that you might be holding onto and no longer serves you. Whatever might have been the situation you've previously experienced, there was a lot of grief, guilt, shame, and disappointment surrounding it. As a fixed water sign it is essential for you to release this feelings by experiencing them, and then making your peace with what you can no longer control, such as your past experienced or actions. This month holds a lot of positive transformations for you, and the first step starts with closing certain doors for good. You got this!
Taurus: Nine of Pentacles, Eight of Wands, and Three of Pentacles. Frustration and Happiness from Prism Oracle.
There's truly no denial that you're very connected to your sister sign because despite clearing the deck and shuffling there's still a very similar energy going around for you. You will also be in a state of independence, financial stability, and abundance as well. There will also be plenty of movement during this month and you will definitely receive many good news your way, particularly about work and collaborating with others to achieve your goals. It is finally the time for you to reap your rewards of all the efforts you've given during the beginning of this year. You will feel a strong desire to be more mature and grounded, which will work amazingly for you since earth is your element.
You will see a lot of progress in your life during this month, so stagnancy or delays will not be a thing to deal with. This could be great in one side, but a bit unnerving on the other since you're used to taking slow consistent steps with everything. Remember that we all need a bit of movement and chaos in our lives to keep things interesting. If there are any projects with a team that you've been working on, there will also be a lot of positive results from it. The same goes for investments that you might be making with others to obtain more luxury or comfort into your life.
You will also be traveling be it short or long distance, and it might occur in a rather spontaneous way but you will make not just good memories but meet people who could push you further into financial success. There will be an interesting duality between feeling frustrated when certain things might not go your way, yet feeling content at the end because you'll notice that whatever didn't go the way you expected actually turned out even better. As a fixed sign it can be hard to lose the grip on control, but often times it is precisely recognizing the ways in which we can attain peace and serenity. Surrender to the universe the things that are outside of your control and focus instead on the small delights that are surrounding you all the time.
If something disappoints you see it as an opportunity to find a solution or an better route than what you were trying before. This month will be essential for your growth even if you might not see it yet. Old patterns are staying behind and welcoming a version of you that will make you shine and thrive. You got this!

More Quirk Ideas
Continuing with my last post, here's a few more categories of quirks I came up with including technology, light, darkness, and time.
Technology:
datastream | user constantly absorbs data and information. user can turn said data into enhancement.
mind database | user can search through a collection of minds in a 1,000 mile radius.
static | user’s body is made of TV static that they can bend to their will. can disguise their body as someone else’s.
pulse | user can emit various different types of pulses. this includes pulses of radio waves, light, energy, etc.
viewpoint | user can place viewpoints anywhere they’ve been and mentally flick through them like security cameras.
error | user can digitize their consciousness and enter computers and interfere with software.

One Piece/Edens Zero Imagine:
Imagine this! You're Dr. Vega Punk's grand-daughter, living as an adventurer, Sailing island to island with your exceed, turned robotic!
Devil Fruit: Senkō Senkō no Mi or Blink Blink Fruit
A Paramecia Type Devil Fruit that grants the user the ability to teleport to various locations.
The Blink Blink Fruit grants the user the power of teleportation and allows the user to teleport items or other people as well. The teleportation is as instant as the user using it. There is no drag when teleporting to another location.
Even though the Fruit allows instant travel, the location must be within your line of sight. However the user cannot teleport out Or into sea prism stone cages. If the opponent manages to predict the users next teleportation and disrupts it by placing something in the way that item will remain in the users Body until removed. Other than that, the user suffers from Standard Devil Fruit Weaknesses.
Example of this --> (Click Here!) (Click Here!) (Click Here!)
(I wanted a devil fruit that's like Rebecca's Cat Leapers in Edens Zero. The Time-time fruit wouldn't work cuz it only allows the user to go forward in time, not backwards. So, i went with the blink-blink fruit)
You are very agile like a cat, able to stretch and leap around like a cat!
You have very remarkable marksmanship as well, you go toe to toe with Usopp!
~~~~~~~ Companions and Equipment:
Happy: (Click Here!)
Happy is a small blue cat with a white stomach and a black-tipped tail.
You found Happy when you were both little kids, You both became best friends after adopting him!
Sometime later, an accident occurred which ended up killing him. Thanks to Dr. VegaPunk, he was revived into a machine body and continued his friendship with you.
As a machine, Happy does not have any issues with breathing or communicating underwater.
Happy can transform his mechanical body into a pair of blasters that fire Lasers, Like the pacifistas.
Example --> (Click me!)
You both sail on a somewhat small ship fit for the both of you. (Made by Vegapunk of course)
~~~~~ You are an adventurer, sailing the sea with you robotic companion, visiting every island you guys come across.
You are famous like Uta! Not singing wise, more like a model and vlogger type of famous.
You vlog about every island you find and explore, while also modelling for clothing brands and others.
Nami and Robin are big fans of you, of course Sanji is too.
Nami loves your modelling side, while Robins loves when you vlog historical places.
~~~~~
You first met the Strawhat pirates in Water 7, while getting you ship repaired after having a run-in with some bad pirates.
Franky fell in love with Happy, lol.
You took pictures and signed autographs with them.
You got caught up in everything, learning about CP9's plans and Robin's backstory.
You decided to help them and save Robin from the corrupted government. (All while vlogging and taking pictures)
But in doing so, made you a wanted criminal and by helping the Strawhats, you became a strawhat pirate! Yay!
Pokemon Legends: Z-A launches in late 2025 - Gematsu
Tumblr media
Pokemon Legends: Z-A will launch for Switch in late 2025, publisher The Pokemon Company and developer Game Freak announced.
Get the latest details below.
Pokemon Legends Z-A is a new title in the Pokemon series. The story takes place in Lumiose City, the largest city in the Kalos region. Prism Tower stands tall at the center of this city of beautiful vistas. These days, Lumiose is undergoing a high-tech urban redevelopment plan to turn it into a city that people and Pokemon truly share. After you arrive in Lumiose City to see the sights, you’ll meet three Pokemon, one of which will become your first partner—Chikorita, Tepig, and Totodile. You’ll choose one of these Pokemon to accompany you on a new journey as you get to know Lumiose City and its inhabitants. When you arrive in Lumiose, you’ll meet a new friend and ally—either Urbane or Tawny. The hotel where you’ll be staying is run by AZ. You’ll also meet his partner, Floette. Lumiose’s redevelopment is being managed by Quizartico Inc. You’ll become acquainted with the company’s CEO Jet and her secretary, Vinny. The different people you meet will make your time in Lumiose all the richer. To help people and Pokemon coexist, the city has set up Wild Zones. These areas, located throughout Lumiose, give wild Pokemon habitats where they can thrive. To catch one of these wild Pokemon, aim carefully, then throw a Poke Ball. If you’re having a hard time catching one, have one of your Pokemon use its moves to weaken the target, making it easier to catch. This game offers a style of Pokemon battling not seen in previous titles. Moves can have a longer or shorter reach, or different areas of effect, so choose your timing and positioning carefully to gain the upper hand. Lead your partner Pokemon through battles and dodge incoming attacks. Swap Pokemon if you need to and find the right moment to unleash a move. What’s more, certain Pokemon can go beyond evolution by undergoing Mega Evolution. When a trainer’s keystone resonates with the Mega Stone held by their Pokemon, the Pokemon will do more than just change shape. It’ll unlock a new level of power, turning the tide of battle in its favor. As Lumiose continues its transformation into a city that belongs to both people and Pokemon, who knows what kinds of encounters and experiences will await you.
Tell me abt Springdiver
Springdiver is the mentor of B and Cliffjumper (and Bugbite too). She is responsible for educating them about Cybertronian culture and their purpose in the caste system.
She transforms into a water car, so she lives in areas closer to lakes in Iacon (on Cybertron lakes contain water that does not affect Cybertronians, this water is also used to liquidate energon. Energon lakes also exist but only closer to places where energon is present.)
She is kind and maternal, responsible and always looking for the best in others. Unfortunately, she follows the Caset system, thinking it is the best way to live in peace on Cybertron. However, she knows that many Cybertronians suffer because of this, but she cannot do anything about it.
She is closer to B, wanting to help him find a place for himself on Cybertron, even though it is difficult considering he has trouble concentrating on simple things.
She is still a loving mother figure who wants to see him happy, even if others don't see the potential in him.
𝐍𝐎. 𝟐   ❛ 𝐝𝐨𝐥𝐥 𝐡𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐭 ❜   |   NAKAWE, EARLY MARCH 1991
❧  𝐛𝐞𝐠𝐢𝐧𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠  /  𝐩𝐫𝐞𝐯𝐢𝐨𝐮𝐬  /  𝐧𝐞𝐱𝐭.
❛ News about the royal family filled broadcasts throughout the day as cheerful early birds, irreverent talk show hosts, and straight journalists alike seized on recent developments. Nothing was too trivial or unremarkable. With the quiet of death and mourning over, the messy aftermath presented opportunity—for ratings, among other things.
❧ ahhh !!! ngl, i'm very proud of this, and i think that it's an improvement on the last television montage. happy to report that there will be more :^) big grateful shoutout to @madebysimblr for the two hosts i lightly edited and renamed ! also shoutout to tom noguchi’s book for the direct inspiration djdhjf
TRANSCRIPT:
morning news
[J] That bird risked everything to put out the fire! Inspiring.
[E] It’s the Morning in Nakawe promise—wholesome coverage to start your day, every day.
[E] Now, as you know, it’s been several weeks since Princess Safya’s tragic death. It looks like her family is finally getting back to normal. We got a glimpse of some beach outings this week.
[E] Safe to say Abelina has quickly stolen hearts nationwide.
[J] Everything we’ve seen suggests she’s a sweetheart.
[E] And there she is enjoying some fun in the sun with her father. I think we’re all excited to see more of this little family—especially with two new members on the way.
[J] First Reyes twins in recent memory!
[J] Princess Leonor also took to the beach in Nakawe, although she spent her time reading instead of swimming. I bet booksellers are going to see that one flying off the shelves this week.
[E] I’ll admit that I already bought my copy! That’s Ogechi Suzu’s 1987 magical realism bestseller Learning to Fly. No spoilers, but it’s about a woman who can suddenly transform into a parrot.
[J] That’s a classic story, isn’t it? What’s Suzu’s take?
[E] A Nakawe city girl has to crisscross all of Uspana to find herself. There’s love and computers. It’s a modern update.
daytime talk
[F] Okay, we’re back! We couldn’t get a Reyes on our little broadcast, so Mencia Cipac’s here to discuss where we are post-Princess Safya. Mencia was a palace correspondent for years, and she published a fabulous book on royal childhood last fall. Today’s person of interest is a big girl now, but—well, is she really?
[F] Safya’s baby. That’s how we know her. Who is she now?
[M] That’s the question. In my book, I thought I had an answer. We’re going to watch a young person invent herself in real time—all while dealing with such extraordinary events. The premature death of a parent. Losing a role that was, by all accounts, her nascent identity.
[F] In public! Publicly.
[M] That’s right. The scrutiny and attention ... We know how hard it is. Going from a little girl to a young woman is always hard. In the public eye, even under normal circumstances, it’s absurd. In our modern history, this turn of events is unprecedented.
[F] To think, we really haven’t even known who she is.
[M] We never really know, but we make great educated guesses. We’ve see her through the prism of her role, particularly this past year. That isn’t unusual for royalty, here or elsewhere. A hard worker. Our queen’s “little shadow.” That just won’t be true anymore. I mean, we know—we’ve guessed—how Queen Beatriz is.
{Audience murmurs}
[M] So, where does that leave her? It is hard to predict. I wonder if she’ll continue to work in a similar fashion—become a loyal worker for the institution like Martin, perhaps.
[F] Oh, I hope not! Can you imagine? How dull! A beautiful girl. She’s so young. She should do something interesting—for me, because I want to see it. Someone get her on the line!
{Audience laughs}
[M] The recent surveys suggest that’s how many Uspanians feel. They sympathize, but they crave newness and excitement. Our public figures let us live vicariously, don’t they? Leonor’s generation is lagging—all children, of course, all off-limits. That means she’s the lighting rod for that collective anticipation.
[F] She was at the beach here in Nakawe the other day. The gossip is some surfers out there were chatting her up. You’ve seen those boys! She deserves the attention but, oh, so do I—!
{Crowd cheers}
[M] The talk has shifted immensely, hasn’t it? We thought there would be a wedding in a year or two, and now it’s all up in the air.
[F] Who cares about that nobody, really? The whole thing was so sweet it made my teeth hurt. Give us someone new. Someones, even.
[M] To people in my profession, the coming weeks are going to be significant. Whether she’s working as we expect or occupied some other way, her public life will be different. Romance is part of that, sure.
[F] A young girl needs it. Us old ones, too. Maybe a self esteem boost will help her out of this funk. It’s depressing, frankly, how bad she looks in those photos we’ve seen lately.
{Audience murmurs}
[F] Hey! She looks great, though! The baby fat is melting away. That mourning diet did wonders, wow. She always looked like her mother—the body, too, you know. Blessing and a curse.
[M] There’s some resemblance to her father, too.
{Audience grumbles}
[F] Jail! Legal won’t let me talk, but: right, ladies?
{Audience murmuring, interspersed clapping}
[F] Anyway, she has his coloring, yes. The darker skin—which, you know, is a shame since her mother had a very pretty complexion. Brighteners? Sunscreen? Maybe we could have a segment on good products. Bring in a dermatologist or two?
{Audience applauds}
evening news
[B] Alright, last update before the hour ends.
[R] That’s right. The Office of the Crown has given a timeline and some details on the transition. First, Princess Safya’s three children will be retaining their titles—that’s “princes” and “princess.”
[B] Courtesy, most likely.
[R] There was no explanation, but our colleagues over at Palace Affairs seem to believe so. Arnaut, meanwhile, is officially the Crown Prince of Uspana, per the same memorandum released today.
[B] That’s a big deal. I mean, we are looking at the future head of state. People my age associate him with, well, velvet and gambling. He’ll lead the nation in time. In your lifetime, if not mine.
[R] Well, Bernardo, the reality is that does concern some.
[B] It remains to be seen whether that’s fair. The coming months are going to be quite the test for him.
[R] You’ll recall better than me that he was tested in the 1970s and still hasn’t recovered—according to this month’s polls, anyway.
[B] Uspanians may not want to give him a chance, but he’ll be addressing the Assembly to formally accept the role all the same.
[R] And we’ll be reporting as it happens later this week. For now, that’s it for us. UBC Nightly News with Inti Rivera starts now.
nightly news
[R] Yesterday afternoon, Crown aides joined the chief medical examiner involved in the investigation of Princess Safya’s death for a press conference. Some reporters’ questions revealed the influence of rumor on what Uspana’s public now wants to know.
[R1] My understanding is that the Crown has not accepted the investigation’s conclusions. Can you confirm?
[A1] Incorrect. The Crown is uninvolved. Dr. Siodina issued a ruling, and the family asked questions strictly as surviving loved ones.
[R2] Did intoxication play a role in what happened?
[S] It isn’t my opinion that it led to her being in the water. It did contribute to the drowning itself.
[R3] Why did she leave the yacht?
[S] That’s a question with a psychological answer rather than a forensic one, I think.
{Reporters murmur}
[R4] Did an altercation with her husband, Lord Rodrigo, occur that night that would have caused her to leave?
[S] Um .... A moment, please.
{Reporters resume murmuring}
[A2] {whispering} Officially, yes, they argued.
[S] There was a disagreement, yes.
[A2] {whispering} No violence.
[S] It was, however, entirely civil.
{Reporters, clamoring}
[R] Following what some are now calling a, quote, “unmitigated disaster,” the Crown announced that it plans to conduct its own formal but unofficial inquiry into the accident as well as the investigation itself. In a twist, sources suggest this plan could have been in the works prior to the conference. This is a developing story.
Sailor Moon Concept Script Episode 1
I found it! The first ever concept script for the anime. The second most I paid for one of these. (Episode 200 was the most and totally worth it)
The title did not change, it is the same!
"The Crybaby: Usagi's Beautiful Transformation."
Tumblr media
Classic moment of Usagi sleeping on her bed until Luna visits her and changes her life forever.
Tumblr media
Moonlight Densetsu was already written at the time.
Tumblr media
Heart Moving was also written.
Tumblr media
Kotono Mitsuishi was already cast as Usagi and Keiko Han as Luna. Mamoru, Umino, and Naru were also cast as well.
Tumblr media
Page 1. Ikuko's age is listed here as 34!!!
The rest is pretty much the same.
Tumblr media
Page 2. Usagi meets Luna without any significant changes.
Tumblr media
Page 3. Luna wants the band aid off of her forehead and is back when it is referred to as a bald spot.
Tumblr media
Page 4. Usagi and Luna stare at each other before the bell rings and Usagi runs off late to class. Ms. Haruna greets her so kindly for being late.
Tumblr media
Page 8. Naru and Usagi looking at rings at OSAP. First appearance of Queen Beryl.
Tumblr media
Page 14. Mamoru's age is not listed here. Rats. He sees her test score of 30 and tells her to study more.
Tumblr media
Page 15. Usagi and Mamoru continue to argue. Usagi walks for to go to Crown.
Tumblr media
Page 17. Ikuko wants to see Usagi's test score and Usagi tries really hard to not show her mother the test.
Tumblr media
Page 20. Naru starts to realize something is wrong. Usagi trying to do her homework but she doesn't want.
Tumblr media
Page 21. Luna jumps into Usagi's room and starts talking to her freaking out Usagi.
Tumblr media
Page 22. Usagi thinks she is dreaming. Luna gives Usagi the brooch and tells her an enemy appeared.
Tumblr media
Page 23. Usagi doesn't believe Luna and says "Moon Prism Power, Make Up" for the first time becoming Sailor Moon.
Tumblr media
Page 24. Usagi freaked out she transformed. She can somehow hear Naru is in danger from her jewels in her odangos. An ability we never see again.
Tumblr media
Page 25. Naru versus the youma. Youma quickly overpowers Naru.
Tumblr media
Page 26. Sailor Moon i still listed as Usagi here rather than Sailor Moon. This changes in future scripts. Sailor Moon gives her first speech.
Tumblr media
Page 27. Youma sends minions after Sailor Moon she falls and injures herself and starts bleeding.
Tumblr media
Page 28. Tuxedo Kamen appears (listed as Tuxedo Kamen) saves Sailor Moon and tells her not to cry but she still does and somehow the jewels in her odango emits waves. Also an attack we never see again.
Tumblr media
Page 29. Sailor Moon's original attack was listed as "Moon Frisbee" in the script.
Open Invitation - Twenty-Three (Nothing Bad Happens)
Content warning: This chapter contains explicit descriptions of violence/blood/gore/character death.
In which:
Nobody feels good about the previous night’s events
The gang meets a goddess
Nothing bad happens at all definitely don’t bring tissues
Excerpt:
“Just a moment,” Astarion said, getting up from the rock he’d been sitting on. “Our dream visitor is living inside the artefact? In here?”
Echo looked up at him. Her contained rage didn’t lessen the dullness of her eyes, and he was forced to avert his gaze - looking at her meant confronting the reality of how exhausted she was and feeling like he was responsible for it, and he stubbornly refused to accept that responsibility.
“Oh, our dream visitor not only lives in it, she claims she stole it from Vlaakith, and that she can completely destroy her legacy with what she knows about her. So apparently I have competition now in the business of destroying legacies, and she continues to dance around the truth of who she is with infuriating grace. So d’you want to know what really pisses me off?” She didn’t wait for an answer to the clearly rhetorical question before turning back to Lae’zel. “We’re going to pop back out of the godsforsaken prism and right into the créche, where the Inquisitor and all of his chums are waiting for us - and then they’re going to fucking bump us off under the justification of some absurd reasoning of how we’ve spurned ‘Vlaakith’s sacred bidding’ and I will have stabbed that annoying bitch for nothing!”
Pairing: Tav (High Elf Feylock) x Astarion
Rating: Explicit
Themes: Hurt/Comfort, Angst, Cycle Breaking, Happy Ending (but not without a lot of pain first), very involved archfey patron.
Disclaimer: Complex trauma delving with direct and implied reference to various forms of abuse, including rape/sexual assault, as well as implied self-harm, including suicidal thoughts/behaviour. Explicit violence. Smuuut.
