i cannot stress this enough but if you are taping with a large chest, the most helpful thing you can do is to work with the mass of your chest rather than against it.
don’t tape upwards; breast mass naturally falls downwards. taping upwards is making it more difficult for yourself. start your first anchor strip above your nipple and stretch the tape/shift your breast DOWN and to the side, towards the bottom of your rib cage.

psa cause i’m seeing WAY too many people saying “ow taking off trans tape hurts so bad” “it’s peeling my skin/leaving abrasions” etc etc
TAKING OFF TRANS TAPE SHOULD NOT HURT
as someone who has incorrectly taken it off multiple times before to the point where it left huge red patches, blistering, and sometimes even bleeding: TAKE YOUR TRANS TAPE OFF CORRECTLY!!!
so here’s my guide as someone who’s been wearing it for around 2 years now, pretty much daily.
it takes time to do it correctly. it’s very time consuming and requires a lot of patience which is why i often wear tape for 5-7 days at a time instead of the recommended 3-4 days, because the removal process takes takes so fucking long. for me it can take around 15-20 minutes, however i do use 3 layers while some people might use 2.
you have to slather your tape in oil. like soak that shit. even if you think it’s enough oil, it’s not enough oil. oil up. you need more oil.
i recommend peeling from the corners first rather than just peeling from any old side. (if you round out the edges of your tape with scissors this doesn’t really apply).
pull SLOWLY. SLOWLY!!! yanking hard will leave abrasions and irritate your skin no matter how lubricated the tape itself is. it’s not like ripping off a bandaid. especially considering breasts are a generally pretty sensitive area. so always tug very slowly.
it should not hurt. it should not hurt. IT SHOULD NOT HURT!!! it’s perfectly normal for it to pinch a little bit, be itchy, or be uncomfortable, but actual stinging pain means you’re doing something wrong. usually because you’re pulling too fast or too hard or you didn’t use enough oil. if it starts to sting or hurt when you’re removing it, let go and apply more oil to the area.
massaging the edges of the tape and areas that you’re peeling from will loosen it a lot. ive found this to be particularly helpful when you start, so i usually apply slightly more oil to the borders and edges of the tape, so that the beginning removal is painless.
be careful around the areas under your arm - like sideboob areas. since trans tape pulls your breasts to the side rather than flattening them in front, if you remove it too harshly, it can cause severe abrasions where the boob has been pulled it to the side. it’s NOT fun and is painful pretty much every time you raise your arms etc. so be very careful and patient with those areas.
always wear nipple covers. this is a given but just in case anyone out there is going to be stupid: do NOT apply it directly over your nipples. the skin there is extremely delicate and it will get damaged even if you’re extremely careful. use nipple covers.
above all, be patient. it is a time consuming process and can be annoying or uncomfortable, but don’t rush. it is not worth it!! it is NOT fun to walk around with your boob areas stinging and irritated!! and it can make future trans tape application more difficult!! so give yourself ample time to do it.
good luck and i hope this helps ! stop taking off your trans tape incorrectly friends

KK day 1 of trying K tape instead of transtape.
K tape is the exact same thing as transtape but it's like the generic version. The K stands for kinesology or something else I can't spell.
So far K tape is way easier to put on, mainly because it comes in pre-cut things and then I just cut those in half. It's also not as floppy, so it doesn't form as many bubbles or get stuck to itself.
Does transtape sell pre-cut things? They should. It's much less hassle. I just watched one of their videos where someone says them not having any precut options is a benefit. No it's not. I want something as easy as possible. Having to cut it myself every time is not as easy as possible.
also, you can buy K tape at walmart for $4 as opposed to having to order it online.
It also has a smoother texture on the top which I like better.
Also Walks got a roll of the black kind which actually works better than the light beige because that was too dark to blend in properly and this way it just kinda looks like I have a sports bra on.
This also so far as not started unsticking just because I'm wearing deodorant. Though this time I put the deodorant on yesterday as opposed to today (it's a kind that actually lasts 3 days)
so so far K tape is even more convenient than transtape. If transtape offered precut ones and all you had to do was unpeel the back, they'd get more stars. Also if they didn't have that obnoxious "all chemical names I don't know how to pronounce are evil and cocoanut oil will save everything" on the back of their stupid little lip balm or whaetver it was they sent.
have I mentioned I fucking hate it when people pretend things are evil just because they can't be bothered to pronounce the scientific foruma for that chemical. Like. Hello. Everything is chemicals, motherfucker, you're not going to say water is evil because it can be called dihydrogen monoxide.
Anyways update November 26 2022: K Tape is easier to put on and take off, and has a nicer texture, BUT it stretches while you're wearing it, so it ends up not really doing anything at all. So Transtape is better overall.
Update May 17 2025: Transtape and k tape works but pretty much only if you're not going to be sweating at all. Which means I can't use it 90% of the year because it's hot and humid as hell here. If you wear it while you swear it'll cause little blisters that are painful. 0/10 do not recommend unless it's actually cold where you are. Then you should have no problem. (unless everyone there also insists on blasting the heat indoors to the point where you're sweating again. RIP.)

Binding
Binders
I found that Spectrum Outfitters worked best for me (prices range from $50-$39). I also have binders that are older and stretched out or that don’t work as well (like gc2b) that I use when I don’t need as flat of a chest because they are easier on my rib cage lol. If you do that, do NOT count that as a break!
Practice safe binding!
Don't bind for more than 8 hours
Don't sleep in a binder
Don't exercise in a binder
Get the right size
Try to only wear a binder for 5 or 6 days a week (this one is hard, I know)
If it hurts, take it off!
If you notice bruising, something is wrong! Your binder might be too small or you may be wearing it for too long.
TransTape
Wearing binders all the time is not too good for you so I recommend using a variety of different binding techniques. One is TransTape!
The reason Ace bandages are unsafe is because as you breathe it gets tighter and tighter and can really hurt you. But TransTape doesn't do that, it's like the tape athletes use when they sprain their ankle or something. It's safe as long as it is used properly. Plus, you can wear it for up to 5 days, exercise and sleep while wearing it, and it's water proof!
TransTape isn't the only brand of course, but they do have a lot of great resources.
Learn more at their website here. I recommend starting with this page and the FAQ.
KT tape is another option if you cant afford/arent allowed to order TransTape. You can find it at most drugstores and box stores for relatively cheap. The adhesive isnt as strong as TransTape, keep that in mind when applying.
Men's Compression Shirts *I have not used these myself (yet) but I hear they work pretty well*
Made for cis men with gynecomastia but hey we can use em. Obviously will work much better for smaller chests, but could still do something for bigger chests, maybe for under a hoodie?
They won't flatten you as well as binders but the goal is more to masculinize the shape of your chest than to completely flatten it. They are also safer than binders.
Other stuff
The color black will make you look flatter
Layers! Lots of layers! (don't overheat)
Sports bras
Compression bras
Button ups <3333

No one is going to see this but because it fucking changed my life i find it is my civic duty to spread the word:
TRANSTAPE WORKS FOR BIG TIDDY BITCHES I REPEAT TRANSTAPE WORKS FOR BIG TIDDY BITCHES
And if you feel pretty sure it doesn't [like I did] that might be because of user error [it was for me]
Listen I tried a couple times without a tutorial to transtape my tits down, thinking "what the fuck would I need instructions for it seems like common fucking sense". It did not work, so as a 32G (last time I measured years ago) I said "welp my tits are probably just too powerful for containment"
Today on a whim I google "transtape large chest video tutorial" met a lovely friend on YouTube who took the sacrifice of going tits out on YouTube dot com to in depth explain how they apply their transtape and holy fuck you guys I tried it and it worked. So here I am spreading the gospel

does anyone have transtape tips for people with really big chests? i'm talking really big,,, I am like, an f? maybe even a g? and my chest is very droopy, they're barely attached to me at all- I can squish them like waffles in a waffle press. Anyway. I really struggle to even use trans tape, and the only time I "successfully" used it I needed a lot of help. I just can't get it to work, and it's making me really upset, because I want to be able to bind, but I can't figure it out... I've tried all the different methods I could find, and wasted a lot of trans tape.
More info: When I try to use transtape to bind, I end up making my tissue look awkward and square, or end up with the same feminine shape I started with, or just putting the tape over the tissue without changing the shape- which, by the way, looks horrendous. And I tried to use it the way I watched tuts on- ripping off a piece of the back and then using it like a handle, but I need so much tape at a time and my body is bigger + my chest is larger, it's impossible to do without it wrinkling and getting it stuck. I literally can't do anything to remedy it.
i've tried 3 times alone just tonight trying to bind, and I just can't... if anyone could help that'd be lovely, because I can't find posts or any tutorials or visuals- literally nothing for people my size :< getting pretty hopeless over here :')

dude you seem so cool you fucking SPIN FIRE??!? thats fucking epic
heheh thank you!!!!!!!! yes i spin fire!!!! here are some pictures :)

i don’t have a ton of photos because until i have enough money to buy my own staff, i can only light up at summer camp. at home i use a practice staff which can’t be lit up!
i started spinning over a year ago, and i only do staff. i’m interested in learning poi or mini staff, but honestly i don’t think they’ll be as fun to me as normal staff!
makes ya feel like a fantasy book or video game character, it’s great. highly recommend learning, you can make a practice staff with just an old broom, tennis balls, and duct tape. (i’m sure there’s more in-depth tutorials out there!)
[Photo ID start.] Four pictures of a young white trans man with black, slicked back hair and dark makeup around his eyes. In all photos, he is holding a long stick. Both ends of it are on fire. He is also shirtless, wearing transtape and bleach splattered jeans. Various others stand around him, also with flaming fire weapons. The first three photos are so dark that no background can be seen, but in the fourth he is in a grassy clearing at night, trees towering over the fire spinners. [Photo ID end.]

This is for fellow autistic trans-masc.
I'm an autistic transmasc, and I dicovered transtape, which I prefer a lot more over traditional binders.
As an autistic, I have sensory issues, so I cannot wear your traditional binders.
So if you're also in need of a different kind of binder, I really recommend transtape.
-
BOYCOTT BWYA (be who you are) DO NOT BUY FROM THEM!
I ordered transtape from their website and they sent me a dildo instead. They are extremely transphobic.

ok wait quick transtape tip: i've been most successful in terms of flatness when applying my tape while leaning back. far enough that my chest naturally flattens, but not SO far that they fall more sideways than downward (down the torso). it should be more the latter than not, while still being naturally flattened by the gravity if that makes sense. so just like. a sensible recline
