You can dm me, I don’t mind!! I’m always open to questions and giving advice <3 sorry this is late I was working :))
Advice pls
Been thinking abt getting a binder but no idea what's good and all so any advice about them would be nice, or where to get good kind and what kind.
Like apparently there's cropped ones and full length ones etc
Literally anything.
I don't want to get bad one all the ones I've seen aren't cheap so don't want to try 50 different ones just to find an okay one
Also idk if this important but i have kinda sensitive skin so if there's any inner labels that aren't easy to remove it can be an issue

The best binder for you will depend on your chest size and personal preferences! Here are some pointers to get you started, apologies in advance for the long post, I will try to organize it to make it less overwhelming:
Full tank or crop?
This is entirely preference! I personally like full tanks because I have an issue with my binder rolling up often (big chest) and full tanks are easier for me to adjust.
Some full tanks will have a bit of bind around your tummy to flatten that some as well. Some will not. They should not bind the tummy enough to make breathing difficult, I’ve never had that issue.
Full tanks are also easier to pass off as a tank top in a household where you need to be discreet, and they’re also really fun to just wear that way. :)
Crop binders are your basic binder and what I believe most people have. They stop at your midsection so they don’t cover the tummy at all. This is a good option if you don’t want anything over your belly and I’m pretty sure most are cheaper than full tanks! They also look sexy /silly
What brand should I get?
There are many, many binder brands out there. That can be overwhelming to someone new! I can’t speak on every brand out there, but here’s my suggestions:
Underworks has a LOT of binder options, both full tanks and crop. Most of my binders are from underworks! Their binders are marketed for gynecomastia usually but work fine for our chest masculinization purposes. Their binders bind well and last a long time. If you want specific recommendations let me know, I can tell you which I have once I get home from work today.
Spectrum Outfitters is my all time favorite. I have a half tank from them that’s strong and binds well, and it rarely hurts my shoulders, which is my main problem with binding. It binds a little less than my underworks binders but is very comfortable, so it’s a good trade off. Shipping will be very expensive outside of the UK, though, as they are a UK based company.
GC2B has mixed reviews and I would avoid them whenever possible personally. Their quality dropped a few years ago, and they also had some scandals involving slighting small trans artists. I don’t remember the details, but I try to stay away from them. Still, the half tank GC2B binder I have binds well (if a little too well, yowch), and has lasted well since I bought it in 2021. I also use it for swimming and it works wonderfully for that purpose, though I admit I need to get a new one that’s sized up to be safe with that.
If you’re looking for a trans run company, I’ve heard good things about wonabibi, though I’ve never tried their binders myself.
They’re on the pricey side, but if you want a good quality binder fully tailored to you, shapeshifters seems like a good bet. I’ve once again never tried them myself, but you can commission them to make you a fully custom binder or use one of their make your own binder kits to make one yourself at home. They also have lace binders which is really fun.
Anything I should avoid?
Some people will tell you to avoid all binders with zippers. This is misleading: not all binders with zippers are dangerous. There was a problem a long time ago with a dangerous zipper binder being sold on Amazon—I don’t know all the details—and I know it led to a lot of people believing that all binders with zippers are dangerous. That’s not true. But you should only buy these from reputable companies such as wonabibi or shapeshifters.
With that said, avoid Amazon if you can. Amazon is notorious for selling unsafe binders for cheap. It may be tempting, but I’d proceed with caution, and maybe do some more research on binding so you know what red flags to look out for, as I couldn’t think of all of them here.
Buying a binder that’s too small. You may think it will bind better. It might. But it will also suffocate you and damage your ribs, potentially permanently. It’s not worth it.
How do I measure myself for a binder?
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
All binders I’ve found easy to remove the tag from, but that might not be the case with all of them. Should be, though! I would just save the tag for record keeping reasons. I have an unknown binder in my possession, no clue where it’s from since there’s no tag lol.
All binders here should be worn while following basic binder safety rules.
Not doing so can result in permanent injury. I’ve found my lung capacity is less than it used to be, but I’ve gotten off lucky. Additionally, while accounts on this vary, some people have reported that binding excessively or unsafely impacted their top surgery results negatively. If you are binding safely you should be fine: if you are not, start. Even if top surgery is not something you want in the future, you could be going to the hospital anyway. Save yourself the trip.
Other binding options?
Transtape is my favorite binding method. I have a bigger chest (32D, I think? It’s been a hot minute since I’ve measured), and it works great for me. It doesn’t get me as flat as a binder but it suits my needs much better. If binders don’t work out for you, I recommend giving it a shot. It’s more complicated and has a larger learning curve by quite the significant margin, but it’s worth it! I’d be happy to help you with more advice on this later if you feel so inclined to receive. :)

I hate when people are against self diagnosis of autism, ADHD and many chronic illnesses. Honestly, many people don't have access to medical professionals and the psychological assessments they need to be diagnosed. Diagnosis is a privilege and if you dont care, you're contributing to the stigma of autism and the problem.

While I am privileged enough to not deal with chronic pain, dealing with the hell I went through in 2021 before my gallstones surgery gave me a taste of what it’s like, and I could not imagine having to deal with that level of pain so often and for much longer than a year. We should not have stigma against those who need certain drugs to function just because of what “most people” use drugs for. All people who need it are deserving of medicine. All people who are suffering are deserving of a means to alleviate their suffering. All people deserve to be able to live without pain. All people deserve to live. Full stop.
Society needs to get something through their heads: people who deal with chronic pain are not 'drug seekers" in the sense of just wanting something to get high. We are seeking them to get out of the agony we're in.

IM SO ELATED THAT RAVENBARLEY IS OFFICIALLY CANON IN WARRIOR CATS.
I am so fucking hopeful that this might open the door to more queer characters in the main series books!! I think I could genuinely die so happy if rowanclaw was canonically transgender!!!!

Never really thought about it before, but long distance relationships can be difficult once you’ve closed the distance, too. I’m elated to be closer to the love of my life and my future husband, but man, do I miss my family and friends when I’m with him several states away. It’s tough having to choose when you’re fortunate enough to have good people on both ends, but it does make you love the people you have and appreciate the time you have with them that much more at the same time.

I still sometimes struggle myself to remember how much autism impacts daily functioning, even to someone like my boyfriend who handles everything so well, and this wake up call was much welcome. Using a disability against someone is such an asshole move, Jesus Christ. If you’re someone who does this or has ever done this please reflect on your behavior. Please do better.
I saw some snippet of a callout post for an autistic trans woman where they list social faux pas she committed, and I think we allistic people should all feel 100x more ashamed of not telling people in the moment how we feel about what they're doing. I think its extremely evil and cruel to not only lie to an autistic person and blame them for it but also to feel justified shaming them for your behavior. And it's currently the social norm to do that

Oh that’s interesting!! I never actually thought of that, that makes a lot of sense. Is it ever uncomfortable when it attempts an erection? Sounds like it might be, and if so it’s further proof that trans fems are fantastic forces of nature /pos /silly
Sorry babe, the Transtape stays ON during sex
