Planets in trine are often underestimated.

If you have Moon in Aries and Venus in Leo, then your Venus acts like Cancer Venus more so if the degree is also in perfect trine.

Sun in Leo and South node in Aries, then Sun acts like scorpio Sun.

Grand Trines [Chart Pattern]

Have a grand trine in your chart, but you can't figure out how to approach it? This chart pattern is a lesson that too much of a good thing really is too much!

First, trines aren’t always about working harmoniously or without interruption, sometimes the trine is the interruption that can't be stopped, preventing you from moving forward until you move through it. You can rely on it to be consistent, but you can't rely on it for complacency. Like if you have a Mars-Mercury trine, it's extremely easy for you to express your emotions, and you aren't easily clouded by them when you're being confronted, but that consistency also demands that you can't move forward until you feel like you've properly expressed yourself. Or a Saturn-Ascendant trine, you're someone who's exceptional at enforcing boundaries, following direction and honoring your commitments, but that consistency demands that you're always contributing to a greater good to ever feel fulfilled in your work.

So, for grand trines, these consist of three (or more!) planets being positioned 120°-123° apart (I personally only allow 3° orb). With how trines are described in pop astrology, as consistently good energy, it's easy to look at grand trines and see a generator, passing off energy in between each planet as it becomes more convenient than the next, but that isn't always true.

Now, for an example, let's say there's a Gemini Moon-Libra Mercury-Aquarius Chiron trine meeting exactly on 9° respective to their signs. So, before you can understand the pattern, it needs to be broken down;

 

TRINE ONE:

9° Gemini Moon- Over the Moon, this shows that someone may be comfortable talking over the teacher, maybe struggling during their school years, but someone who's actually great at picking up direction the first time and passing it on to others.

9° Libra Mercury- Over Mercury, this cusp influence shows someone who's maybe sometimes a little too willing to take criticism from others, happy to dig the compliment out from under the miles of confusion and doubt.

Their Moon trine Mercury- With someone who is comfortable talking over other people and taking insults as constructive, the "consistency" of this trine has them only listening to what they think applies to them and can be applied to their life. This trine, the first of the three, also shows that this person learns outside of an institutional schedule. If people aren't moving fast enough, they'll find something to fill the space, and people regularly (9°) interpret that as not being interested at all.

 

TRINE TWO:

9° Libra Mercury- I think this is someone who's quite literally always looking for a reason to go bigger, success being a sign rather than being seen as an opportunity to slow down and enjoy what's already coming.

9° Aquarius Chiron- This is someone who isn't comfortable having their ideas being known or their hobbies being exploited by simple conversation. They may want to help other people, but that means they want those people assigned to that position and given access to no other.

Their Mercury trine Chiron- Being someone who likes to take big hidden leaps, this is someone who studies what they enjoy in secret, away from everyone else, usually from a fear that it'll be normalized and commercialized, having the emotion and meaning in it ruined. This trine, within the lens of education, probably shows someone who doesn't have any intention of going to college, wanting to raise a society where talent itself is followed rather than questioning and attempting to conform to those expectations. Going into the second trine, we can already see how these themes tie into the Moon without even looking at the trine. Someone who talks over teachers + has little respect for institutional validation = pursuing non-traditional avenues. 9° Gemini Moon, maybe an investigator.

 

THIRD TRINE:

9° Gemini Moon- This is someone who enjoys debating, but under specific rules that create absolute panic when they aren't followed. This is an "I'll follow the rules until you stop" person, second chances for them usually don't exist.

9° Aquarius Chiron- This is someone who will completely uproot their life at the promise of unlimited and unjudged freedom, someone who lives by following the "objectively best" opportunity in front of them.

Their Moon trine Chiron- This person is literally always one switch flip away from becoming exactly what everyone accuses them of, embodying every rumor they've heard to drive off anyone that genuinely believes them. This trine shows someone who's used to having people end the relationship over philosophical disagreements, maybe having parents that harshly punished them for having simple disagreements with them, leading them to believe their boundaries will never be respected.

 

HOW TO WORK WITH IT ALL:

Now, let's go back through these trines and see how, separately practiced, these trines can be extremely beneficial, but when tied together, focusing solely on one at a time directly impacts the other two. So, let's start back at the Moon-Mercury trine. This is someone who's comfortable talking over people of authority. Why?

Mercury-Chiron trine. Past experiences made them believe they don't need respect if they have talent. Why?

Chiron-Moon trine, someone who felt that people in their early life, most likely their parents, had very little respect for their ideas and what they wanted to do differently, even leading to punishment or exclusion. So, for shadow work, how can someone unwind this influence without negating the obvious benefits of having a confidence non-dependent on societal validation? Let's start back at the beginning one more time. Like a generator.

Moon-Mercury trine at 9°, if they have no respect for authority, then they would probably be triggered by corporate ladder-style jobs. So then what? Mercury-Chiron trine at 9°, they have no respect for college/educational institutions either, so schooling isn't an option. Chiron-Moon trine at 9°, this person has the ability to match the energy of anyone who challenges them, isn't afraid of how they're seen, so what that says to me? Shadow work through becoming a competitive athlete, even if it's only a side interest to the rest of their lives.

 

It's easy for us to look at the Moon-Mercury separately, see they like to talk over others, and say they want to be a teacher.

 It's easy to look at the Mercury-Chiron separately, see someone who doesn't respect institutions and say they can work for themselves.

It's even easy to look at the Chiron-Moon trine alone and say this is a person who's severely prone to anger issues, projecting that anger, and crossing boundaries in an attempt to prove a point. But, as a grand trine, when read all-together, there is an answer to that anger.

Minx minx I just saw your post about aspects and I have two doubts!

I just realized that my in trine between neptune, saturn and moon all the planets are in cusps (29°, 28°, 28°), the first one being in my ascendant/descendant. My questions are:

1. Do the cusps influence these planets too?

2. How the planets in a trine influence each other in general?

Sorry if that's a lot!

Sorry to tell you that the concept of cusps is made up nonsense from the 70s where people were trying to explain why all (let’s say Virgos) didn’t act exactly the same. The answer is that nobody is “just” a Virgo Sun but they are a product of their whole chart.

I’ll try to find the post where I talk about this more and link it for you - that’s about sun signs and the interaction between the Sun, Mercury, and Venus. So look out for that.

But having a lot of planets in similar degrees is VERY significant. It means two things. One is that all of the planets are in aspect to one another and all of the energy will be perpetually intertwined. The second is that anytime one of our transiting planets enters those degrees, it will light up your whole chart. That could be good or bad depending on the circumstances.

2 - trines are considered to be a relatively positive interaction between planets but it’s also considered to be a bit lazy. A person with a lot of trines in their chart sometimes just seems to have things work out but that doesn’t teach how to manage struggles or to have perseverance. It tends towards an easier time early in life but can present challenges especially after the first Saturn return.

Venus Trine Neptune (tips)

Connecting to art and putting youre entire heart in it will connect you to source.

When it comes to self love rituals I believe mirror magic would be a good way to connect deeper to yourself . I feel like mirrors (portals) is a big thing with Neptune since the energy around mirrors connect heavy to them.

Your art can have this interesting, unique feeling to them. (this isn't a tip, mainly an observation)

When manifesting, I believe scripting would be great especially if you write it as some type of poem. Maybe even a story!

Being compassionate to yourself could make this trine work stronger. Both planets are connected to the heart chakra.

You can literally transform yourself with this placement because Neptune rules the subconscious. Daydreaming/meditating/scripting how you want to look and be would be a huge advantage here.

Venus-Ascendant Aspects and Venus-Midheaven Aspects 💋

VENUS conjunct, square, opposite, sextile, or trine ASCENDANT

💞The majority of people with these aspects never had an awkward phase growing up (especially those with the conjunction). They looked like little models in their high school yearbook pics

💞A ton of celebrities with these aspects started their careers as models. A few of them even played supermodels in their early roles (like Angelina Jolie or Alexander Skarsgard)

(Side note: most celebrities seem to have Venus either in their 1st/in aspect to the Ascendant or in the 10th/in aspect to the Midheaven. Since a significant part of fame is about appeal and attractiveness, this isn't surprising)

💞Rarely, if ever, single. Feels most comfortable in a relationship

💞Cultivating their personal style is very, very important. Even the ones who claim to be "anti-fashion" make it look very distinct and can even accidentally set trends (like Kurt Cobain).

💞 Very pleasant and charming personalities. But, being nice can also be a defense mechanism of sorts, as they either hate conflict or being thought of poorly

💞They have distinct voices. They may be very soft-spoken or speak in a really husky or raspy tone. Many of them make decent to great singers

But, even those with these aspects who aren't famous feel this pressure from people to be the really attractive and/or really likable person everyone wants them to be

💸 Regardless of if they're in a high profile position or not, people in their community tend to look at them and treat them like they're a celebrity
