I’m a fan of the MCU(Marvel Cinematic Universe) and a fan of both the WandaNat and BlackHill ships.

BACKGROUND .

 beatrix  is  born  the  second  eldest  out  of  four  to  a  chinese-american  father  and  english  mother  in  san  francisco  ,  california  and  relocates  to  new  york  city  before  she  turns  one  .  her  mother  hails  from  a  legacy  of  entrepreneurs  ,  making  their  money  in  energy  and  oil  .  her  father  made  his  money  during  the  height  of  the  silicon  valley  tech  boom  ,  heavy  expectations  were  placed  upon  all  the  wang  children  since  birth  .  it’s  safe  to  say  trix  was  destined  for  great  things  since  birth  .

at  the  age  5  ,  beatrix  finds  her  calling  wushu  .  what  started  as  an  extracurricular  activity  both  parents  put  her  in  has  evolved  to  so  much  more  when  her  wushu  master  noticed  her  skill  and  potential  .  that  becomes  the  focus  of  her  life  .  and  yeah  ,  she  got  good  at  it  .  this  was  just  a  part  of  the  routine  now  .  and  to  her  parents  ?  one  hell  of  a  resume  padder  .  they  had  never  really  questioned  it  .  at  16  ,  trix  starts  contemplating  this  cookie-cutter  life  their  parents  have  laid  out  for  them  .  attending  the  top  private  school  in  the  nation  .  etiquette  classes  .  language  classes  .  the  expectation  to  attend  yale  just  as  their  parents  had  .  it  worked  for  her  older  sister  so  clearly  this  is  the  model  all  the  wang  children  should  follow  .

 they  start  to  act  out  a  little  bit  .  purposely  starting  arguments  with  their  parents  .  ditching  school  from  time  to  time  .  and  by  the  time  college  acceptances  rolled  out  ,  trix  had  other  plans  .  they  announce  they’d  be  going  to  school  in  d.c.  .  they  find  their  calling  in  journalism  .  quickly  latching  onto  the  idea  of  reporting  on  crime  specifically  .  when  it  comes  to  trix’s  tenacity  ,  they  can’t  be  stopped  .  they  land  an  internship  at  the  washington  post  ,  working  hard  to  prove  their  worth  .  and  by  the  time  they  graduated  ,  trix  has  an  offers  to  different  media  publications  but  ultimately  chooses  to  write  for  the  new  york  times  .  what  can  they  say  ?  they’re  a  little  homesick  .

at  25  ,  trix  breaks  the  biggest  story  of  her  career  .  it  lands  the  new  york  times  as  a  finalist  in  the  pulitzer’s  breaking  news  reporting  category  .  she  doesn’t  expect  to  win  of  course  ,  but  to  be  a  finalist  ?  that’s  huge  .  and  to  her  surprise  ,  the  pulitzer  for  breaking  news  reporting  goes  to  her  .  this  is  it  .  she  thinks  she’s  peaked  .  she  needs  to  change  it  up  a  bit  .  and  so  she  does  .  in  the  form  of  starting  her  own  true  crime  podcast  .  she’s  not  sure  if  it’ll  take  off  but  turns  out  ,  people  do  want  to  listen  to  a  journalist  talk  through  their  thought  process  and  the  connections  they’ve  made  while  reporting  on  true  crime  then  branching  into  all  things  supernatural  .  it’s  a  small  success  .  one  that  leads  to  the  creation  of  a  podcast  dedicated  to  the  apartment  building  they  live  in  .

PERSONALITY .

 at  first  glance  ,  they’re  the  life  of  the  party  .  and  it’s  easily  how  people  see   them  .  it’s   the  personality  they  present  when  on  their  podcast  .  often  seen  engaging  and  entertaining  others  through  humor  ,  enthusiasm  and  a  sprinkle  of  sarcasm  .  there’s  no  debate  as  to  how  easily  they’ll  feel  at  home  in  any  environment  .  they’ve  evolved  into  someone  who  wants  to  live  in  the  moment  and  enjoy  life  .  aside  from  having  excellent  people  skills  ,  they’re  practical  and  observant  .  and  she’s  not  without  her  faults  .  she  can  be  a  little  conflict  adverse  .  a  little  facetious  in  dealing  with  things  they’re  uncomfortable  with  .  their  demeanor  as  a  journalist  differs  immensely  from  how  others  often  see  them  .  she’s  quick-witted  .  a  little  lackadaisical  .  stoic  .  unafraid  to  ask  the  tough  questions  and  stand  her  ground  .

tana & paige. i don't have much here beyond them both liking plants and having a similar vibe BUT i can totally whip up some type of witch verse for paige, i think that would be interesting. and on that note, i gotta throw lyra at him too, i feel like she could learn so much from him and really look up to him!

she runs a restaurant / unofficial women's shelter so if anyone's muses need a job with room and board, this is the place.

lorelai gilmore

lorelai became unaware.

the core of her is still the same. still loves coffee, still says the most ridiculous shit and is still a commitment-phone (probably even more so).

the biggest change is that she has no memory of rory or being a mother.

since being a mom was the biggest motivator for her to leave the control of her parents', lorelai is not as independent from her parents anymore. she rebelled and runaway and detested everything about them, but she still followed their every rule and demand and image of what her life should be.

she had her coming out, graduated high school, went to a prestigious university, got a business degree. present day she even spends some weekends going on whatever blind date her mother sets up and sabotages each and every one.

the inn is also inherited from her parents. a "starter" business project they called it. she actually likes running the place, though, so it's not the worst torture they've put her through.

possible connections: employees (always looking for these), blind dates (past who have a bad impression of her now or upcoming), friends/exes/flings elitist parents would disapprove of (from the past or present day).

nora grey

died but memories were not affected (at least not in the dc aware/unaware way).

after dying it brought up the memories of her constantly almost dying in patch's presence, his confession that he tried to kill her, and she remembers what they are: him a fallen angel, her a nephilim.

so, nora now remembers up until the end-ish of book 1. she remembers sacrificing herself then waking up in dc.

she doesn't know patch saved her back in maine, so she believes she died and ended up here somehow.

son yeonseo

yeonseo also died and didn't have her memories affected.

but that's basically the only noteworthy thing that happened.

not much changed for her afterwards (aside from some guilt toward one particular person). technically, she's already undead so dying again and having nothing happen to her is something to easily get over.

to be even more technical, in her mind she thinks she is undead as she doesn't know she is half human and was born that way, not created like normal vampires.

A Schemer With Streamers

Hey there, fields of scarlet rot. Got one more issue of this MLP cross-generational comic for you. Shame that there's two issues after this! Gonna have to leave you on a cliffhanger and review some other stuff before we finish this story! So sorry, but I only have what issues I have. I hope this one will tide you over for the time being~

Here's the cover:

Violet Shiver's cool, right? She's probably the best of the S'monies, mostly because she's actually purple like G1 Smooze. It strengthens the identity of her origins, you see. Plus Pinkie's also on the cover! That's always a bonus in my book. Notably, the skies are also red, presumably a DC crisis event is about to begin. That would be suitable for a crossover of this magnitude, at least. Anyway, Violet's beset by some Venom ropes or something, I dunno. Let's read this issue and find out.

So, last time, Grackle and Dyre, daughters of the G1 witches, sent their Smooze-created evil ponies to sow some discord among the School of Friendship, installing them as teachers. Despite being kind of obviously villainous, the S'monies are accepted by the cast, even after their lessons are also obviously evil. And then they start to spread their chaos into the larger population of Ponyville...

We open with one of Fluttershy's classes at school. She's lecturing on the traits of a creature called a Shriek-Yowl, which is basically the traits of a cat and an owl wrapped around a mandrake. Silverstream and Ocellus are being very rude and talking through the lesson. When Fluttershy asks them if they'd like to share, they sass her something fierce, upsetting the shriek-yowls. And by "upsetting", I mean they projectile-vomit (offscreen, fortunately, but it's implied through text). The teachers later meet to discuss the problem that seems to be plaguing their school.

Starlight Glimmer decides to call in a specialist to help them work through the problem: Mayor Mare. Honestly, wasn't expecting that. You'd think it'd be her best friend and school guidance councellor, Trixie. Her conspicuous absence is greatly and powerfully felt through this whole miniseries. Anyways, Mayor Mare is keenly aware of the problems also going on outside the school, and this much harm at once has put everypony on guard, and they begin musing which villains might be behind it. That's when Pinkie steps in as the voice of reason.

Pinkie Pie points out that they're jumping to the villain conclusion awfully fast. Sometimes ponies have disagreements and fight, it doesn't mean mischief is afoot. Now, we know this is dramatic irony because it totally is the work of villains, but Starlight thanks Pinkie for her uncharacteristic level-headedness. So obviously Pinkie's solution to the disharmony festering under the surface is to throw a big party and cheer everypony up. Because it's always parties with her. At least that much is characteristic for her~

When Trench reports this to the witches, they scoff at the idea of a mere party being a solution, but resolve to inform their minions anyway. The S'monies volunteer Violet Shiver for the decorating committee, just to keep an eye on things. And here's our chance to look in on Violet in a solo setting. Pinkie sets her up on streamer duty so they can hang out, and Violet now has to convincingly pass as a normal pony. This is actually strangely adorable, as she has basically the same results at trying to adhere to an aesthetic as Jack Skellington.

Meanwhile, Twilight has dropped by (or maybe she's still here from her brief cameo in issue 1) to check on Starlight's mental health. She puts the stressed headmaster to bed, then drops in on the party progress. Twilight notices some of the magic Violet is using to make her crafts look normal seems suspicious (like, shadowy snakes flowing from her horn to reshape the streamers type suspicious), but neither Violet notices Twilight noticing nor does Pinkie notice Violet's magic. While Pinkie lectures Twilight to not be so judgemental, Twilight borrows one of the streamers for analysis.

Twilight and Pinkie meet with Zecora to discuss the issue, since Zecora can analyse magic from a different perspective than Twilight's unicorn-focused expertise. With some testing, they determine that the magic comes from another dimension, and that the animosity they were feeling comes from actual contact with the magically-infused streamers. In fact, prolonged contact actually causes Twilight to briefly become possessed by it, until Zecora manages to knock her out of it by hurling her into the nearby river, severing the connection.

With these findings, however, they're able to determine that it's a kind of Smooze, very different than the one Discord knows. They're also able to determine its dimension of origin, so with the help of a book, they can set up a portal to visit said dimension and elicit some help. All of the Mane Six and Starlight turn up to help out with this one. And the seven of them prepare to step into another dimension, with beings very similar and yet very different to them. As they do, the issue ends with another group of G1 ponies landing before them...~

This issue’s interesting. A big switch from the previous one, since that one was pretty much entirely focused on the villains. This one has only a single scene with the witches, and barely a page for Shadow Storm and Black Belle. Violet gets the brunt of the focus here, and it’s actually quite enjoyable. Gives her a little more depth, as you can see her first struggle and then take pride in making her crafts for the decorations. Otherwise, though the villains are lightly depicted, their effects are very much the issue’s focus. So much so, that we’re actually going to get the crossover part of this crossover miniseries underway at last~

Alas, we won’t get to that next week. Like I said, I don’t have the relevant fourth or fifth issue yet. Only got the first three in my shipment! So next week... Back to the New 52 well, I guess. It’s been a nice break, at least~

I’m writing her from Suicide Squad the movie, BUT she will retain knowledge of the comics prior to Rebirth/New 52 as backstory. Heavy influence from BTAS.

She WILL remember her time spent in Hive City, including the time she was accepted to the Hive Avengers. She won’t, however, be as much of a goody-two-shoes as she was before. Funny how a bomb in your neck changes your outlook on life.

I will absolutely under no circumstances include ANYTHING Conner and Palmiotti have written in her canon. Sorry, but they don’t know how to write Harley. If we end up getting anyone from that universe (Red Tool, Eggsy, Tony, even Mason or Harley Sinn), my Harley will not know them.

She has Bud and Lou, her hyenas, only they’re still puppies. She also has a rottweiler mix named Trixy who’s missing a leg that she got a few Christmases ago.
