#trying to figure out how to say a phrase in hindi

Looking up how to write in Hindi for a picture I was thinking of making, and Hindi is such a pretty language to look at! And it's actually pretty easy to understand what letters are what! Though I am using an alphabet chart since I don't know the letters myself, it's cool to try and figure out what a word is using the chart.

Even in my age, I’m still trying to figure out who I am. My passport is Pakistani, my roots are in India. And in between all of this, there is a border. There is a border marked with blood and pain. People are claiming their identity based on an idea some old Englishmen had when they were fleeing the country. How is one to deal with that?”
Episode 4 of Ms Marvel really lays out the theme of this show and the ethos of the character. At its core Ms Marvel is a story about identity. The parts of you that make up who you are. And how those identities are both in opposition to each other but also coexist.
Yes obviously on the surface Kamala is trying to figure out her powers and what part of her ancestry they come from. Right now she physically exists between two dimensions. But really all of the super power stuff is a metaphor for the actual point of this episode and show in general.
The episode centers around Kamala’s first trip to Pakistan ever. Outfits that Kamala says would kill in Jersey City lock her out of boat clubs in Karachi. She may have grown up with Hindi and Urdu in her life in America but her grasp on the language is barely enough to get her by in Pakistan. (Theen-hundred is certainly one way to haggle down a price Kamala)
Her cousin (truly some of the most irresponsible people ever btw) calls her an ABCD-American Born Confused Desi. A phrase nearly every South Asian child born in America has heard at least once in their life. An insult typically, based really off of nothing we can change about our own selves. Kamala takes the jest in stride, clearly annoyed, because this is obviously something she’s felt herself. She was comfortable in her identity as a Pakistani American in New Jersey. But in Pakistan she feels not Pakistani enough. The food is too spicy, she’s at a loss with directions, and she keeps being told she clearly doesn’t belong. This is supposed to be her home but she’s an absolute stranger instead. A detail translated in my opinion beautifully from the comics:
Tumblr media
The theme is especially underscored with Kamala’s conversation with her Nani. Sana who may have lived her whole life essentially in Pakistan, feels as left out and lost in her identity as Kamala does. The Partition of India having left several people in Sana’s generation feeling this way-Indian…but not really. Pakistani…but not quite.
Even Muneeba who left Pakistan for America, partially to start anew and partially to get away, named her daughter Kamala. The implication being to rebel against the Pakistani identity she was running from. So she named the daughter she had in America, a name that wasn’t really all that Pakistani. Writing “Kamala Khan” on a birth certificate was her reconciling her identities by denying one because it hurt too much to consider them both.
I believe and hope that this show ends with all three women by healing their relationship with each other (the depiction of the generational trauma with desi mothers and daughters is beautiful btw) they also feel comfortable in their own selves.
This show has in my opinion has masterfully depicted a core struggle- this crisis of identity, that resonates with almost all South Asian people. And they did it set to a backdrop of a superhero show. I mean thats just really freaking cool.

20 Fic Questions
I was tagged by @bewires ty pal!!!
1. how many works do you have on Ao3?
42. this is.....more than i thought it would be actually
2. what's your total Ao3 word count?
315,594
3. what fandoms do you write for?
the old guard mainly, but also asoiaf (and associated fandoms) and star wars. i have written for other fandoms, just not very much
4. what are your top five fics by kudos?
Now I'm Covered in the Colors
the bittersweet between my teeth
throw me that smile
wedding party
second of his name
It is pretty funny (and reflective of fandom size) that my top by kudos fic are all from fandoms in which I have written like, 3 things total
5. do you respond to comments?
I try to! Im pretty slow with it and after a certain point I am just like "okay not responding to comments here because I simply have nothing to say" but I try to reply to comments all at once every few weeks or months or whatever.
6. What is the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?
I don't think I write terribly angsty endings...? I mean in general I like a happy ending, especially for fic ig, but... hmmm. Maybe blue lover, which I guess is an angsty ending for the POV character? Maybe tick tick tick, which is just ...canon compliant and that episode of himym didn't end well? (yes, I know, don't ask).
7. What’s the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?
Hmmm, this one is tough. How would you measure happiest ending exactly if they're all 'good' endings but not necessarily "Everything is fine now!" ones? I guess maybe wasteland baby? Or maybe pretexts, for the "we've figured it out!" after a fic full of angst?
8. Do you get hate on fics?
I have gotten hate on fic but not very often and not exactly recently, so I guess...no?
9. Do you write smut? If so, what kind?
Yeah!
10. Do you write crossovers? What’s the craziest one you’ve written?
I do! I don't know if I've posted any crossovers recently, but I do think of them from time to time, and then... I guess the craziest one I've put anywhere near the internet is a doctor who/asoiaf crossover that I've since (i.e. since 2013, when I wrote it) taken down?
11. Have you ever had a fic stolen?
Yep, though this was back in like 2013.
12. Have you ever had a fic translated?
Yes, once!
13. Have you ever co-written a fic before?
I have begun co-writing fics and never quite seen it through to the end 😅
14. What’s your all time favorite ship?
Changes by the month
15. What’s a WIP you want to finish but doubt you ever will?
In things I've posted, I would really like to finish my star wars witcher au that I have the second chapter of written and the third chapter fully plotted, but ...I mean, I hope I'll finish it. But I doubt myself
In unposted things: that post-rots AU
16. What are your writing strengths?
Hmm, I'm not sure? I can say the things I enjoy doing and feel at ease with, which is description and worldbuilding and scene setting, but if they're things that people feel are particularly strong in my writing I do not know.
17. What are your writing weaknesses?
Finishing wips Probably working through passage of time or making things flow one from the next? I tend to think of things in static scenes, and trying to make it coherent and flow without too many breaks or choppiness, or just overwriting things that I don't need is something I struggle with a lot
18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language in fic?
It kind of depends on the context? I wouldn't try to include more than a line or phrase of dialogue from a language I don't speak without at least asking someone. And unless it was a specific choice that added relevance to the text, I'd either write the convo out in english with "they said in __ language" or "X said something in [language] that flew over Y's head" or.... whatever.
19. First fandom you wrote for?
The hindi tv serial Miley Jab Hum Tum, circa 2007. I was a baby!
20. Favorite fic you’ve written?
the bittersweet between my teeth is definitely the fic I'm most proud of, for its length and the way I plotted and set it out, but I have also absolutely written things I like stylistically or feel are better in the (holy shit) 7 years since. I tend to think of my more recent stuff as better So in recent stuff, maybe some cupids kill with arrows!
Thanks again for the tag, aaaand I tag @chinchillinator @raedear and @werebearbearbar if yall like!

English to Hindi Translation for Students: Enhancing Learning and Understanding
English to Hindi Translation: It’s like finding a treasure chest full of information written in a language you don’t quite understand. English is that locked door for millions of Indian students; it holds academic books, foreign writing, and ways to communicate other than their native Hindi. It can be hard to get around in English, but changing it to Hindi is not just a language practice; it’s a way to learn and understand more deeply.
Why English to Hindi Translation Matters:
Translation does more than just understand words, it gives students the tools to interact with the material. It turns into a conversation, a back-and-forth between languages, where meaning is made instead of just being received. This process helps:
Improved Comprehension: When students translate, they have to break down long lines, look at words, and understand what they mean. This greater involvement helps people understand and remember what they are learning.
Critical Thinking Skills: Translation isn’t an automatic process; you have to use your brain to figure out subtleties, cultural references, and the author’s meaning. This improves your ability to think critically and helps you learn on your own.
Creative Problem Solving: It can be hard to think of the right Hindi word or phrase to use instead of an English phrase or term. Students learn to think outside the box, increase their knowledge, and enjoy the beauty of both languages through this process.
Confidence and Motivation: When students see the results of their translation work, they feel more confident in their ability to understand. This makes me want to learn more about the subject and read more English books.
Beyond Textbooks: The Wider World of Translation:
There are big intellectual benefits to translation, but its power goes beyond the classroom. If you know how to English to Hindi Translation, you can:
Global Communication: Multilingualism is useful in a world that is becoming more and more linked. Students who learn how to translate can meet with more people, work together on projects with people from other countries, and take advantage of chances around the world.
Cultural Understanding: Translation helps people from different countries talk to each other. Students learn about different points of view, historical periods, and ways of life by translating English books. This helps people understand, accept, and value different cultures.
Creative Expression: Translation can be a clever way to say something. Students can write new versions of English poems in Hindi, translate song lyrics, or even change stories from other languages to fit a Hindi audience. This encourages imagination, an awareness of literature, and a stronger bond between the two languages.
Getting Started: Practical Tips for Effective Translation:
As a student, you need both tools and methods to start your translation journey:
Build a Strong Vocabulary: It is very important to learn simple and intellectual words in both languages. Buy books and apps that help you learn a language, and use them to actively add to your word bank.
Focus on Understanding, not Speed: Do not hurry the process. Carefully read the English text, look at how the sentences are put together, and then try to write correct, clear Hindi translations of those words.
Embrace Online Resources: Use internet language groups, dictionaries, and translation tools to get help and learn from other people.
Collaborate with Peers: When you work with a partner or in a group, you can get different points of view and improve the quality of your translation.
Get Feedback: To improve your versions and find places where you can do better, ask teachers, mentors, or native speakers for comments.
Don’t forget that English to Hindi Translation is a process that lasts a lifetime. Enjoy the difficulties, the finds, and the sense of accomplishment that comes from using words to open up new worlds.

BTS Reaction || S/O Swearing In Another Language [Request]
Tumblr media
A/N: First of all if you can speak another language props to you cause I can barely speak English and I’ve been speaking it for 24 years also I don’t speak any of these languages so if anything is wrong please tell me haha
SEOKJIN: (Yiddish)
For a while you had been teaching little bits of Yiddish to Jin whenever he asked you to, he found it great when he could insult one of the boys and they would have no idea what he was saying to them,
"Teach me another one." He begged as he laid beside you in bed one night, you rolled your eyes playfully at him trying to think of something you could tell him,
"Gay Kocken Offen Yom." You stared at him as he tried to figure out what you had said but he shook his head,
"You'll have to tell me, all I got was "ocean" at the end there." You giggled softly before explaining what you said to him,
"It's just a phrase, I said 'Go shit in the ocean', it doesn't really mean anything but you said to teach you something." He began saying it over and over again until he had the pronunciation perfect.
Tumblr media
YOONGI: (Hindi)
Yoongi was familiar with the Hindi language since you would frequently use it around the house whenever you got the chance to, even teaching Yoongi and Namjoon a few phrases whenever they wanted to learn something new so when he heard you yell out in Hindi it was no big deal until it was followed by a loud smashing sound,
"Maa-dar-choo!" You screamed out before a loud smash sounded, Yoongi lept up from the sofa and raced into the kitchen to find you running your hand under the cold tap and repeating the word over and over again.
"What happened?!" He questioned as he saw glass on the floor with spilt food all over the place,
"I grabbed the dish when it was hot," You hissed, whispering the same phrase under your breath as the cold water cooled your skin down.
"What does Maa-Dar-choo mean then?" He questioned as he cleaned up the floor trying to distract you from the burning pain you had in your hand.
"Mother fucker," You laughed softly looking at your hand to see if you needed a doctor but it was nothing more than a small burn that would heal from home.
"Swearing in Hindi," He tutted playfully as he shook his head,
"Hey, you swear in Korean all the time." You nudged him as you began helping him clean up.
Tumblr media
HOSEOK: (Polish)
Ever since you and Hoseok had gotten back from food shopping he'd locked himself in his home studio doing something, you figured he'd gotten a random boost of inspiration and decided to leave him while you packed everything away at home and made some dinner for the both of you. Hoseok had been acting weird since you swore in the middle of the supermarket, a man grabbed your ass not knowing that Hoseok was with you and you swore at him maybe he was embarrassed about it.
"Hobi? I made us some dinner," You whispered as you walked into the studio, he turned around in the chair was a red face. At first, you thought it was angry but then you noticed he was laughing and laughing very hard,
"What's so funny?" You whispered, laughing softly since his laughter was so contagious.
"You told him he was a fucking asshole?" You bit down on your lip remembering that you swore in Polish in the middle of the store, yelling out " Jebany dupek ," which literally translated to "Fucking Asshole," it explained while Hoseok was laughing so hard.
"I had no idea what it meant so I came back to look it up," You groaned laying your head on his shoulder while he tried to get you to teach him how to say it properly.
Tumblr media
NAMJOON: (Greek)
You and Namjoon hadn't been dating long when you got into a small meaningless argument over something you could no longer remember but the both of you were so heated it continued to build over nothing until he finally gave in and walked away from you,
"Malaka," You mumbled under your breath not thinking that he would be able to understand you but he started laughing as he turned to look at you. He knew you were in a fight but hearing you call him an "asshole" in Greek he couldn't help but start laughing.
"xeris oti katalavaino?" You blinked at him as he said "You know I understand?" and you couldn't help but join in laughing with him.
"I thought I could get away with it," You whispered, kissing his chin as he kissed the top of your head.
"Not quite, maybe learn another language." He winked before going off to order you both something to eat.
Tumblr media
JIMIN: (Swedish)
Jimin was in awe of you as you began ranting to him in both English and Swedish, switching between the languages right in front of him as you continued to ramble about a driver in front of you that had cut you off in the middle of the road,
"He nearly hit me! The idiotic- Agh! - Hjulet Snurrar Men Hamstern är död!" You yelled out as Jimin stared at you, blinking as he tried to think of what you could have said but the only word he thought he would have known was Hamster but nothing made sense if you had said Hamster.
"What?" You questioned as you could see how confused he was, his eyebrows were pressed together as he tried to work it out.
"What did you say...The Swedish part, I didn't catch it." You felt your body heat up in embarrassment but you repeated what it meant to him,
"The wheel is turning but the hamster is dead...Just means the guy was stupid," Jimin blushed as he kept trying to repeat it, promising he was going to use it for Jungkook one day if he ever got the chance to.
Tumblr media
TAEHYUNG: (Spanish)
"Come Mierda," You spat out at someone that began yelling at Taehyung for nothing, the man stormed off while Taehyung watched you closely trying to figure out what you had said in Spanish. It always amazed him whenever you would switch to a different language but this time he knew that it couldn't have been a good thing that you had said and he was interested in knowing what it was.
"What did you call him to make him storm off?" He laughed as you sat down beside him in the restaurant again, the two of you were trying to have a nice evening but the man began yelling at you both for sitting too close, for being too loving to one another when it had nothing to do with him. Then the man began attacking Taehyung for no reason and you lost him,
"I called him a shit eater, I don't think he knew what it meant though," You laughed softly reaching forward for your drink.
Tumblr media
JUNGKOOK: (Bulgarian)
Jungkook was laughing while you and Jimin bickered over who was cheating in the game of Uno that you were having, there was a power outage in the city so you and the boys were making the most of it while you could.
"That's cheating!" You yelled out as Jimin placed down a plus 4 to end the game on, of course, it sparked the debate on whether or not you were allowed to or not.
"Jungkook!" You whined as he took Jimin's side, Jimin smirked at you smugly so you threw the cards down and began mumbling in Bulgarian thinking that none of them would be able to understand what you were saying but Jungkook started laughing loudly as soon as he heard you mumble,
"Kon da ti go natrese," Jimin began demanding to know what it meant while Jungkook died of laughter on the sofa,
"T-They told you to go and get fucked by a horse," Jimin pouted before storming off in the other direction while Jungkook continued to die of laughter on the sofa.

Mom Sevika Content!
If people get to say Silco’s a ‘good dad’ I get to make Sevika a mom
Background HCs, Vi and Powder are North Indian, Sevika is North-South Indian and knows both Telugu and Hindi.
- Sevika taught Vi and Powder to speak and read Hindi, Vi never learnt to read English, Jinx only picked up reading English after the warehouse incident
- Sevika also taught them both most... basic things, because Vi’s and Powder’s parents often dumped them both on Sevika whenever they did anything, and they did stuff often
- Jinx also picked up Telugu from Sevika during the years she worked under Silco, Vi only knows a few Telugu phrases
- Sevika records personal notes in an audio device, in Telugu. Most people don’t understand it, but since Jinx picked it up she often listens to her notes to pass time
- Sevika calling the kids munnu, betu, bangaru konda, amongst other things
- Sevika has a bunch of old Bollywood movies from her parents, she doesn’t care for them but Vi found them and loves them
- Sevika starts out really bad at first aid, when she gets hurt she often has to go to others for help, but she learns the basics so Vi won’t be injured during training and her own fights
- Sevika first taught Vi how to fight because Vi saw Bollywood heros fighting and wanted to be the same, Sevika basically went ‘Munnu, that’s not physically possible but I can teach you to defend yourself”
- Note that this doesn’t mean cleanly, Sevika taught her every dirty trick in the book
- Sevika can cook, Vander can’t. She often cooks Indian/Indian fusion food for the little gang
- Jinx’s favorite is malai kofta, Vi’s is gobi manchurian, Mylo also likes gobi manchurian (but its tied with onion pakodda), and Claggor’s favorite is just chicken curry
- Vi picked up how to cook from Sevika, she’d sometimes make food for the group and later cooks Indian food for Caitlyn
- They all eat rice with their hands, and they all know how to do it cleanly
- When any of the kids couldn’t sleep, Sevika would tell the stories from Hindu mythology
- Vi really likes the Ramayana, she compared herself to Rama and Powder to Lakshmana a lot
- She says Mylo is Hanuman just to watch him fume
- Sevika also sings both Hindi and Telugu lullabies, and most times they work
- They all pronounce Sevika’s name right, and Vi would yell at people who repeatedly mispronounced her name
- Sevika is the one who would braid Powder’s hair, and Powder would get upset if Vi tried to do it because her Sevu does it best
- Baby Vi touching her own nose then touching Sevika’s and going “They’re the same :D”
- Powder likes to hang off of Sevika’s flexed arm, she’s only happier when she gets the metal one because it meant that Sevika wouldn’t get tired
- After the warehouse incident, Powder clung to Sevika, she knew her as a maternal figure, already. However, this threw a wrench in Silco’s plans, so he ordered her to distance herself from Powder
- Powder was wrecked, she kept trying to get Sevika’s attention to no avail, at one point she’s banging on Sevika’s door in the night because she had a nightmare and she just wants her Sevu
- This, obviously, is perfect opportunity for Silco to make his move and make himself the only trustworthy figure in Jinx’s life

I can’t think of a title for this, and therefore feel weird posting it to AO3, but I also didn’t write over 1k words of Caustic getting dunked on not to share it, so...here’s a thing I wrote. Maybe I’ll post it to AO3 later if I can think of something for a title. Also, this is the closest to writing something canon-compliant you will ever see me write.
CW: Racism/xenophobia, character hate (Caustic), google translate/Papago Korean and Hindi (open to corrections, alleged translations at the bottom).
----------
Getting paired with Crypto and Caustic was the worst thing to happen to Elliott all week.
It was bad enough that he wasn’t overly fond of either of them (Caustic less so than Crypto, guy gave him the creeps), but they’d been glaring daggers at each other since the whole Crypto is the traitor! No, Caustic is the traitor! thing that had gone down back on Talon. It threw off the vibe. Elliott found himself nervous-rambling more and more as the match went on, which just got him some daggers of his own, which just made him nervous-ramble more, and at this rate it was going to be a miracle if they actually won.
I can’t work under these conditions, he thought as he crouched behind cover, eyes desperately scanning the new environment. Caustic had already put up traps around the room and Crypto was flying his drone around, trying to figure out how screwed they were. They knew it was going to be a bloodbath—there were way too many teams left and it was a late-game ring, that always ended badly—but if they could just avoid the worst of it…
“Have you found anything yet?” Caustic said, in a tone that could only be described as sneering.
“ 나는 여전히 일하고 있다.,” Crypto responded absentmindedly. Elliott didn’t know what that meant, but if he had to guess based on context, it was probably something like, Hold your horses, I’m trying. This part of the map must’ve been absolute shit for drone flying. Too many buildings. “ 왜 현수막을 못 찾겠어 …”
Caustic scoffed. “Fine. Hide behind your language then, coward.”
Elliott froze. Oh, boy. If the vibes had been bad before, they were worse now. Crypto’s gaze snapped up to meet Caustic’s with a glare that was the reason the phrase if looks could kill existed. “I’m still working,” he said slowly, like he was talking to a toddler. “I can’t find a banner. But I haven’t found any evidence of squads nearby.”
“That’s good, right? That’s great news!” Words flew out of Elliott’s mouth before he could stop them. “Not dead yet, right, buddies? Eh?” Crypto had turned his attention back to his drone, leaving Caustic to glare at Elliott. “No? Okay. Shutting up now…”
Once Crypto finally found a banner and confirmed they were in the one tiny portion of the remaining map that didn’t have any squads nearby, and pinged the next ring location, they pushed ahead to set up a possible ambush. Everything was in place, gas traps and drones hidden in little nooks to catch anyone fleeing the ring, and Elliott had even found a triple take, which was pretty great. He was just starting to get into the groove of an ambush when…
“I want to make something clear.”
Uh-oh.
Elliott turned around, bracing himself for an argument. That sounded like an Elliott did something stupid voice from Crypto, and he wasn’t even sure he had done anything yet. Elliott was relieved—then terrified—to see that tone was actually meant for Caustic.
“I’m not hiding behind anything.” Crypto didn’t even sound angry; he just sounded cold. “You might still be hung up on Talon, but I have other things to worry about. I have absolutely nothing to say to you and I’m not going to deny myself my own language to soothe your pointless paranoia. 걱정이 되면 한국어를 배울 수 있다*.” And then, because this situation couldn’t possibly get more intense, Crypto stepped right into Caustic’s personal space. “And if I wanted to call you a small-minded xenophobic viper, you would know my meaning very plainly, Doctor Nox.”
Having four older brothers meant Elliott was pretty good at smelling when a fight was about to break out. And this was definitely, dangerously close to coming to blows. “Hey, uhhh, friendly reminder, all three of us get in trouble if you two start friendly firing,” Elliott said, physically inserting himself between the two of them. That involved getting way closer to either man than he really wanted to, but it was better than the alternative. “So maybe, crazy thought, Caustic can apologize, and we pretend it didn’t happen for another five minutes?”
“I have nothing to apologize for,” Caustic said.
“I don’t want his apology,” Crypto interjected.
“Whatever! I don’t really care! Just don’t kill each other! Okay? Anyone wanna help me actually do this ambush or what?”
They backed down after that. Elliott doubted anything he’d actually said changed their minds. They were probably just sick of the forced physical proximity, but he’d take it as a win. Okay, only a partial win. He was still stuck on a team with the two of them and way too many other people in an increasingly small ring.
“Hey, Crypto, how do you say I’m gonna die in Korean?”
“You’re not going to die,” Crypto sighed. Then, “But it’s 난 죽을 것이다.”
“…y’know what, I’ll work on that pronunciation later.” Or he’d forget the second he was out of the ring. That was more likely.
Shockingly, Crypto was right. He didn’t die, because they somehow won. Crypto and Caustic must’ve turned that latent aggression they were feeling for each other against the last of the competitors. That was fine by Elliott. As long as they weren’t killing each other while he was on the team.
Of course, when it was over, he immediately dished to Ramya about what went down.
“That rubber-coated tosser said what?!”
“Yeah, it’s weird, right? If Crypto had something to say, he’d just say it. Trust me, I know he hates me.” Elliott didn’t think Crypto had ever talked shit in Korean—though it’d probably be pretty obvious from context if he did. Wouldn’t be the first time Elliott had been called a dumbass in a non-English language. “And if I’m understanding what Gibraltar said, Caustic threw him under the bus, so what’s the deal? If you start shit, you don’t get to be pissy if you get shit back. That’s like…the rules.” A brief moment of self-reflection said that was probably hypocritical of him to say, but at least Elliott had some awareness of how shit worked. Again. Four older brothers. He knew the score.
Ramya snorted dismissively. “You really think a guy like Caustic thinks the rules apply to him? Or that it’s just about whatever happened on Talon? Speaking of...” Caustic was lurking nearby, stalking down the hallway as if this were still the arena and he was looking for his next victim. “Hey, Witt, watch this. Doc!” Ramya waited until Caustic was looking at her, then did that thing Brits did that looked like a peace sign but was actually basically the middle finger. “ अपने आप के लिए, गधे हो अपनी राय रखें।.**”
Caustic froze, eyes narrowing as he ran over whatever it was Ramya said. Elliott was genuinely nervous he was going to do something about it, but Caustic kept on walking, scoffing noisily as he went. “गधे!***” Ramya called after him.
“Uh, are you sure that’s a guy who want to be antagonizing?” Elliott asked nervously.
“What’s he going to do about it? Try to hurt my feelings? Call me ignorant? Hah!” She went back to her project. “Joke’s on him, I speak three languages and know how to make a gun from scratch. What does he do? Make fart bombs?”
“Wait, three?!”
“…eh, two and a half. I haven’t spoken Punjabi in a while. I’ve probably forgotten some bits. Point being, he can’t say shite about me.” She grinned mischievously. “And he’s going to have to get used to not knowing what I’m saying about him.”
Oh, no. “I shouldn’t have told you about this,” Elliott groaned. “He’s going to think I’m an accessory. I don’t want any part in this.”
“Too late.”
“I hate you.”
“No, you don’t.”
He really didn’t. That was the worst part.
Oh, well, at least Crypto would probably find it funny. Elliott might not have been friendly with him or anything, but he had to admit: after Talon, the guy could probably use something to cheer him up.
.
.
What any not-diagetically-translated lines are supposed to mean even though they probably are wrong because Google Translate (hopefully the copy-paste of the Korean and Hindi are like...readable).
*“If you’re worried, you can learn Korean.”
**“Keep your opinion to yourself, asshole.”
***“Jackass!“
Also, technically Crypto said “Why can’t I find the banner” not “I can’t find a banner” but I don’t think he’d give an exact translation of him talking to himself anyways, just the gist of what he meant.

“I’ll be alright...” Yashiro felt weak. She could barely talk. Her mind slipped between falling asleep and staying awake. She forced a smile, but even Hanako could tell that she was in pain. She held on tightly to the red and white camellias as tears stung her eyes.
“Hanako-kun… Kou-kun...” her smile grew weaker, but she kept it on her face. Kou cried beside her as she raised a hand to pat his hair. Both boys were shaking. Her mind drifted to those memories she made. Meeting the mokke, getting to know Hanako’s true identity. She had fun while it lasted, and she didn’t want those memories to go to waste.
“I’ll be alright.”
if the path i tread will change | kung mababago ang landas na tatahakin ko
you are still the one my heart will look for | ikaw pa rin ang hahanapin ng puso ko
every time that i’m with you | sa bawat sandaling kasama kita
you gave life to my world | binigyan mo ng buhay ang aking mundo
“I promised you I’d keep you alive. I promised!” Hanako wasn’t aware that he was holding in the tears. His voice wavered as he struggled to speak. His throat hurt when he hiccuped, his voice turned wheezy as he tried to hold it in.
“I promised I’d grant your wish. I promised you’ll get to plant new veggies next year.” He wanted nothing more than to keep calling her radish legs. His eyes grew hot at the thought that she won’t be around to stop his teasing.
“I said you’d go to college. You’d be an adult and go out to drink.”God, how he wanted her to keep living. If there was a god who can absolve his sins, why can’t he save Yashiro?
“Then you’ll be in a snow-white wedding dress when you get married.” Oh, how he wished she could walk down an aisle, marry someone she loved. He wished that she would have a family of her own. He wished that he could give her this life. This perfect life.
“I promised…”
the days go by | dumadaan ang araw
you didn’t even realize you were running out of time | ‘di mo namalayan naubusan ka ng oras
can we have | pwede bang humiling
one more day with just each other? | isa pang araw na ikaw lang ang kasama?
“Please…” Death came sooner than they expected. The three clock keepers could not do anything. Akane, the one who stops time, felt a piece of his heart break for Hanako and Yashiro. He never saw the Honorable Number 7 beg more than he did.
“Please,” he cried out, “just do something!” Akane watched with uncertainty and fear. Kako tried explaining that they couldn’t do that, but he knew that Hanako wasn’t listening. He clung onto his cloak and refused to budge.
“Honorable Number 7…” Kako heard Akane mumble. He watched as the seventh school mystery held on tightly as his pleas turned to whimpers. For the first time, Akane didn’t know what to do. As a clock keeper, he knew that his power would be no good. As Yashiro’s friend…
“Please.”
we’re lacking time | kulang na kulang ang panahon
what we have right now isn’t enough | ‘di sapat ang meron tayo ngayon
can we have one more day together? | pwede bang humiling isa pang araw?
“Why?” Kou heard Hanako mumble. He watched as the apparition’s hands tremble. Yashiro, with what strength she has left, laced one of her hands with his. “If I had been stronger…”
Kou felt paralyzed. His mind drifted back to a pink-haired guy. Hanako was going through the same pain Kou felt a long time ago. Now, he must support him when Hanako did. He noticed that Hanako’s hand tightened around Yashiro’s.
How he wished he knew what to say to him. How he wished that Hanako didn’t have to go through this too.
“Why?”
i didn’t notice it slowly disappearing | hindi ko napansing unti-unting nawawala
the nervousness in my chest | ang kaba sa ‘king dibdib
every minute that i’m with you | bawat minutong nakapiling kita
i’m getting stronger because of you | tumatapang ako nang dahil sa ‘yo
“Remember?” Yashiro had trouble saying complete sentences. Her lip trembled as she tried to speak. “Remember… the first time we met… Hanako-kun?”
His eyes started to hurt from the number of tears he held in. He did. He committed it to memory, so he would never have to forget. He tried to laugh so hard when he remembered Yashiro swallowing the mermaid scale. The only thing that left his mouth was a weak chuckle followed by him choking back his tears.
“Bound together, right?” Hanako could see, as clear as day that she smiled through the pain. That sweet and innocent smile was about to be taken away from him. He couldn’t do anything to stop the inevitable. At this moment, all he could do was hold on tight to her hand. “Please remember me, Hanako-kun, Kou-kun.”
“Remember.”
the days go by | dumadaan ang araw
you didn’t even realize you were running out of time | ‘di mo namalayan naubusan ka ng oras
can we have | pwede bang humiling
one more day with just each other? | isa pang araw na ikaw lang ang kasama?
“I’m so sleepy…” Yashiro trailed off. They began to panic. Hanako cupped her cheeks in his hands while Kou held on to her free hand.
“Don’t leave us so soon, senpai.” Kou didn’t recognize his own voice. He hiccuped as he tried to find a pulse. It was faint, but her fingertips started to grow cold. He squeezed it, hoping his body heat will reach her. It has to.
“Yashiro!” He was pleading at this point. Kou didn’t register Hanako throwing his hat away. He watched him cradle her head in his arms. Yashiro’s hand twitched. It wasn’t much, but sent a wave of relief to the boys, knowing that she was still alive.
“...so sleepy…”
we’re lacking time | kulang na kulang ang panahon
what we have right now isn’t enough | ‘di sapat ang meron tayo ngayon
can we have one more day together? | pwede bang humiling isa pang araw?
“Stay alive, Yashiro,” Hanako begged. He held her shoulders as his head hung low. His grip on her weakened as he let his arms fall to her side.
“You need to live.” Hanako felt his heart clench with anxiety. He kept muttering that phrase, making Kou think whether Hanako was talking to her, or to himself. The young exorcist muttered a small prayer to her, in the hopes that any god merciful enough would listen.
“You need to stay alive!”
at the dawn, i’m always looking for you | sa pagsikat ng araw ikaw ang laging hanap
every month the moon changes i’d still hold your hand | sa pagpalit ng buwan sana ikaw pa rin ang tangan
“I’ll figure something out!” Hanako tried to smile.
He tried to smile when he noticed Yashiro’s body start to fall. He held her face in his hands and tried to look in her eyes. What was once filled with happiness and curiosity started to fade. He tried to smile when he saw her own lips start to break formation. He started to hyperventilate.
“Please don’t go!” Tears threatened to stream down his face as he clutched onto her. Yashiro raised a hand to pet his hair and gave the softest and weakest smile she could muster. In turn, Kou smiled, so he could distract her for what little time she has left. Hanako’s eyes did not match his smile as he kept clinging.
“I’ll figure something out!”
we’re lacking time | kulang na kulang ang panahon
what we have right now isn’t enough | ‘di sapat ang meron tayo ngayon
can we have one more day together? | pwede bang humiling isa pang araw?
“You’ll be okay.” Yashiro’s soft voice had little strength now. They would’ve ushered her to reserve her strength, but she kept going.
“Hanako-kun, Kou-kun, it’s okay.” They didn’t feel at ease. But the innocence behind her statement, the hope they held onto for so long set their hearts at ease. “You have to let me go.”
By God, Hanako would do anything but that. He wiped his face. He wanted to show her his determination to never let her go. How he wished it was easy to tell her those three words. Those three simple words that would mean nothing if he let go now. Yashiro’s smile caught his attention.
“You’ll be okay.”
the days go by | dumadaan ang araw
you didn’t even realize you were running out of time | ‘di mo namalayan naubusan ka ng oras
can we have | pwede bang humiling
one more day together? | isa pang araw na ikaw lang ang kasama?
“I…” She was interrupted by a coughing fit. Kou went behind her and placed his hands on her shoulders, trying to ease the pain. Hanako held onto her hands, his breath almost getting caught in his throat. He trembled as she tried to continue.
“I just… wish you guys will be happy… even without me.” They froze. How could they be happy without her? Every memory they made, Yashiro was there. They found happiness in each other, and if she’s gone, it’s almost like a piece of their happiness is taken away.
“I’ll always be here.” Hanako shut his eyes, trying to stop the tears. He didn’t want to cry. He didn’t want it to hurt as much as it does.
“I…”
we’re lacking time | kulang na kulang ang panahon
what we have right now isn’t enough | ‘di sapat ang meron tayo ngayon
“Hanako…” Yashiro’s voice grew quiet. Her eyelids became heavy. Her breathing started to slow.
With the last light in her eyes, she uttered out:
“Hanako-san, Hanako-san, would you please grant me my wish?”
can we have | pwede bang
can we have | pwede bang
can we have one more day together? | pwede bang humiling isa pang araw?
Hanako’s heart stopped as a tear trailed down his cheek. Her body grew limp in Kou’s arms as her hand let go of the camellia flowers. How he wanted to tease her again. To bring him donuts. To hang out with in the girl’s bathroom. To feel her warm hands against his.
How he wanted to say ‘I love you’.
Instead, all he uttered out was a soft:
“Okay.”

Info of King of masala..MDH
Mahashay Dharampal Gulati, the chairman and subject of many of MDH's marketing campaigns, died on Thursday at 97, from a cardiac arrest.Photo courtesy: MDHIndia’s spice king is no more.Mahashay Dharampal Gulati, the nonagenarian chairman of spice maker MDH Spices, who for long enthralled millions of Indians with his rather unique marketing campaigns, and even became the subject of many memes, passed away after a cardiac arrest on Thursday. He was 97. Gulati, often sporting a turban, hook moustache and spectacles, had been the group’s brand ambassador, appearing on every pack of masala sold by the company, and on television commercials for long. His smiling face, perhaps was also key in giving millions of Indians a much-needed assurance to buy the company’s range of products, making it the country’s second biggest company in the packaged spice market, after the Everest Group.Today, MDH sells through some 1,000 stockists and over four lakh retailers across the world.“He was three things rolled into one: Brand mascot, brand icon and brand ambassador,” says Harish Bijoor, who runs his eponymous brand consulting firm. “An icon who led from the front through every age. He stepped into the shoes of being a brand ambassador in an era when the phrase was yet to be coined and minted.”MDH, short for Mahashian Di Hatti, offers 62 different spice products, ranging from turmeric powder to black pepper and biryani masalas, according to the company, and exports to countries, including the US, Canada, the UK, and regions like Europe among others. In 2017, with Rs21 crore as salary, he was also the country’s highest-paid CEO in the FMCG sector.“He ended up being one of the most endearing and likeable brand ambassadors,” Jagdeep Kapoor, founder of Samsika Marketing Consultants says. “What worked for him? His ethnic wear, welcoming smile, family feeling and serving style as an excellent host. His face spiced up the life of the joint Indian families then, and later on lingered when the concept of nuclear families started gaining steam. He worked on one priceless insight about the Indian tradition: Grandfatherly figures are respected and loved by seniors, adults and children. This helped build the MDH brand strongly, and turned out to be a unique differentiator among other competing brands. One keeps remembering his face every time you see the ad and feel like saying MDH, MDH.”But long before he became an icon, particularly in kitchens across the world, Gulati was also a victim of the bloodied Partition in 1947.
From Pakistan to IndiaGulati was born in 1923 in Sialkot, then part of undivided India. His father, Mahashay Chunnilal, ran a small spice shop in the city, named Mahashian Di Hatti, popularly known as Deggi Mirch Wale. By 1933, aged 10, Gulati dropped out of school to try his luck in business that included selling mirrors, manufacturing soaps, and doing odd jobs, including carpentry, cloth merchant, hardware business and rice trading before finally deciding to join his father’s business.“I expanded the business to Lahore,” Gulati says in the book, Divided by Partition: United by Resilience, written by Mallika Ahluwalia and published by Rupa publications. “From Lahore, we expanded to Sheikhupura and after that to Nankana Sahib, then to Lyallpur and then till Multan.” Over time, business grew rapidly with the Gulatis clocking between Rs 500 and Rs 800 per day.By 1947, as business thrived, India was to be divided and the family had to leave Sialkot to take refuge in India. With Rs1,500 in his pocket, the 24-year-old Gulati landed in Delhi, despite numerous hardship along the way, that even included his uncle being hit by a truck as the family slept near railway tracks in Amritsar. In Delhi, Gulati joined his sister, whose husband was a government employee and registered himself as a refugee before moving into an abandoned house.  Soon enough, he bought a Tonga, a horse-driven carriage for Rs650 and drove it from New Delhi Railway Station to Qutab Road and Karol Bagh for two annas.“I was wondering what I should do… One day, while roaming around, I reached Chandni Chowk. People were selling tangas (horse carriages) there,” Gulati told Rupa publication. “I asked them how much they were selling for. I bargained a little bit and finally got a tanga for Rs 650. I used to wait near the railway station and say “two annas sawari, two annas”. I would observe the other tangawallahs and then shout out neighbourhood names, like “Karol Bagh, two annas, Karol Bagh, two annas”.But, Gulati wanted more. With his reserves, Gulati bought a small wooden shop in the Karol Bagh area of New Delhi in 1948 to restart his family’s business, and set up Mahashian Di Hatti of Sialkot. He also put out an advertisement in the popular Hindi newspaper, Pratap, which helped rake in customers.By 1953, he also set up another shop in the Chandni Chowk area of New Delhi, before deciding to start large-scale manufacturing in 1959.“Several decades ago housewives used to grind their spices manually at home and made their own blends for use in their cooking,” the company said in its annual report for 2018. “To make this process easier to the housewives, Mahashian Di Hatti (MDH) visualized the concept of ready to use ground spices. It has set up state-of-the-art plants for meeting the ever growing demand. The company procures the raw material directly from the centres of produce to maintain uniform taste and quality. The raw material is first cleaned, dried and tested with the help of special machines.”MDH was formally incorporated in 1965. “With his vision, perseverance and devoted honesty in business, Mahashayji led the venture to the heights, which have inspired others to follow,” a profile of Gulati reads on his company’s website. “Very few people know the success and hard work of Mahashayji behind the success of the super brand MDH. Mahashayji doesn’t have any secret formula behind his grand success. He just follows a traditionally established principle of honouring the commitments and serving his customers through pure and quality products.”  Today, the company has 18 manufacturing facilities, the first of which was set up in 1959 in Kirti Nagar, an area known for its furniture market. In 2018, for which the company has filed its returns with India’s ministry of corporate affairs, the company’s revenue’s stood at Rs 1095 crore, as against Rs 978 crore in the year ago period. Profits meanwhile, stood at Rs 315 crore, compared to Rs 247 crore in the year ago period.“Now cement is a brand, so is wire, and switches and whatever you can think of,” says Ashita Aggarwal, marketing professor at SP Jain Institute of Management and Research. “But decades back, who would have thought of making a brand out of masala? He did it. He was one of the first to realise the importance of a brand. People buy commodities but they love brands. People shift commodities but they stick to loved brands. One doesn’t need to have a marketing degree to come up with such insight. The MDH man had the foresight as well as audacity to think way ahead of times.”   Meanwhile, despite being a school dropout, Gulati set up some 20 schools, including the MDH International School, Mahashay Chunnilal Saraswati Shishu Mandir, Mata Leela Wati Kanya Vidhayala, Mahashay Dharmpal Vidhya Mandir and a 200-bed hospital that treats the poor for free. Last year, the government bestowed upon him, India’s third highest civilian award, the Padma Bhushan.“Dharampal Gulatiji represented an idea,” adds Bijoor. “An idea whose time had come well before brand-ambassadorship as an idea in itself was recognised. In many ways he was the brand himself. The category of spices was a commodity in itself and the company actually made a commodity and packaged it for the masses. Gulatiji recognised there was something missing, and he added the brand zing with his persona. Gulatiji in many ways was the brand masala in the generic commodity. A man much before his time for sure.”Today, Gulati’s son and six daughters look after his empire, worth some Rs 2,000 crore.  “We ourselves are responsible for our victory or defeat, so rather than blaming fate, we should focus on cultivating our strengths and reducing our weaknesses so that this God-given mind and body can be put to full use, so that we know that all our talents and energies are doing some good in the world,” Gulati wrote his in autobiography.Clearly, he lived his life to the fullest.(With inputs from Rajiv Singh)

I suddenly had this desire to write again for you, Tito.
“Taga-AWS ka?”
Probably the most stupid and creepy way to start a conversation with someone. Galing. Stalker agad datingan. Hahahaha! That’s how I introduced myself to (let’s call him) Tito. The awkwardness and curiousity would definitely bring you somewhere in the future pala? Lol
I remember this one instance when my bestfriend and I were talking about people we find interesting in our batch. We were in our ChristmasxAcquaintance Batch Party during that time, and Tito was the photographer. So I just pointed at him and told my bestfriend how I find him interesting. This guy easily caught my attention on our first day of class. Idk how, but I did notice him. Maybe because he’s chinito? Though, I was in a very happy relationship that time. So that was just a harmless, ‘crush.’ Kebs lang, di naman kami close nun.
Tbh, idk anything about this guy that time, except his linkedin and FB profile? Hahaha Actually, I did stalk ALL of my batchmates after our grad school admission result was released. I never thought that this guy, wearing a tux with a blue necktie on his cropped display picture that time, would give this much impact in my life today. Wow. That he could make me write a 10 pages (or probably more) phrase about him and on how he made me feel.
This blurred picture perfectly depicts how we are today (or how we’ve always been). It seems we’re not ready yet, as we both would say. Or was it an alibi on how we can’t make this easy?
The random moments with you. The first time we talked, even the time you had a taste of my messed up steak, watched a movie, and just had a conversation (even if I felt so messep up). We were really close.
Conversations. We had lots of these. Always a good talk with you. The twisted, complex, or complicated arguments/claims almost about anything. Raw and unfiltered topics that made us vulnerable, facts and figures that show how nerd you are, and feelings that represent my sensitivity at times. It amazes me that knowing you also made me learn a lot. Like a lot. Great part of this was our Grab rides to school, as we sometimes curse how expensive it is. But I’d never had it in any other way. It was something.
You’re unique. We all are. But I can’t associate any other patterns with you. You’re completely different and it’s interesting.
You’re intelligent. How sexy is that? It turns me on to just know how smart you are. Like if circumstance allowed, I would brag you to everyone. The modest and lowkey guy I know is a consistent valedictorian both in elementary and highschool; who also won a regional-level in MTAP; who was a representative of their school to almost all of the academic contests; who can be tapped unexpectedly for a competition and would still win even if he’s unprepared; and who could pass UPCAT and get a quota course, ECE, in Diliman effortlessly. N2 passer for Japanese Language Proficiency Test. A senior software developer/lead. Practical and prudent with a firm principles and values in life. What else? Yabang noh? Pero lowkey lang sya. He’s really something.
You’re matured. Our 7+ years age gap made sense given the level of understanding on how we perceive things. You’re way ahead of me and it didn’t bother me. Your experiences made you this. Introversion suits you well, as you established everything at your own pace. Maybe that’s why I still don’t get you sometimes. There are times that I feel stupid and reckless, but you’re there to slap the truth hard on my face.
You’re gentle, loving, sweet, practical, and independent. Just typing this makes my heart flutter and makes me teary-eyed. Hahaha maybe I’m just overwhelmed with so much feelings for you that I can’t directly express right now, except to write something? You made me feel special, and it’s amazing:
• The first time I went and tried Mercato with you.
• Our random breakfast together, mostly comprised of sausage mcmuffin/platter.
• How we end up spending our whole day going around Market2x for window shopping, but more of you showing me your fave shops & little discoveries.
• Random lunch/meryenda/dinner dates. KFC, milktea, pizza, potpots, and etc.
• Made me explore Manila on my 25th birthday and got caught by my dad unexpectedly. Lol
• Brought me to an unli-steak restaurant in SM MOA, and explored the perya nearby.
• Went to a roadtrip in Tagaytay right after you arrived from Marinduque.
• Braving the traffic and public transpo from Buendia just to get to Nasugbu, Batangas for our weekend getaway in Pico de Loro Resort.
• Random calls even if you’re miles away. SFO-Manila. How you were coping with routines (laundry, gym, random walks to find bars or just familiarizing SFO streets) and would find it amusing.
• Wanting to see me even after your 12 to 14-hour exhausting flight from SFO. Bringing me your cute shot-latte and chocolates as pasalubong. But you’re the biggest pasalubong, I missed you.
• Reviewing together for our comprehensive exam even if we’re too busy.
• Went to an expensive (napasubo kasi HAHA sorry na!) unli-steak dinner at Westgate, Alabang and showed you where we live. Lol
• How you would offer giving me a ride to school.
• The random P2P rides with you and more of Rodics cravings.
• How you would always remind me to stop believing in MBTI. Not limited to that, you’re always there to remind me and help me out anytime. (This is making me cry. I’m touched.)
• Remembering how I love tapa. Or even helping me out with my cravings.
• How we would both hate having to deal with useless groupmates in class. Hahaha
• Your awkward hugs.
• The sweetest thing you could say to someone (even to your mom) is simply “mwah.”
• Your subtle and korni sweetness. “Me: Ano bang gusto mo?” Tito: “You” And I would still not get it even how many times you do this. Hahaha
and a lot more..
You’re not the most affectionate person I know. We both lack words of affirmation. Nonetheless, all the time I’ve spent trying to understand your love language was worth it. All of it.
I do have feelings for you, I can’t deny that. I’m not even sure why we keep on running in circles. I’ve always been expressive and vocal on how I feel for you. But I still can’t understand the gap.
Was I not enough? Are my assumptions too much? Or were you not clear enough?
Idk. It breaks my heart. Maybe, I stopped caring knowing more about it. Or that’s just it.
Dati, nag-post ako about real love.
I’ll surrender everything to Him and will obey Him this time.

A glimpse inside everyones favorite hyperpolyglot, Sydney Bristow. (Yes, I childishly cut Danny out of the picture because I prefer Sydney with Noah, but I like this picture, so there you go.)
Let's start this off with a quick quote from Recruited: I speak five languages (six if you count pig latin. From Shadowed, we also know this: for SD-6 agents, mastering five or six languages was the bare minimum. So right out of the gate, before she even starts working at SD-6, she's already met the 'bare minimum' requirement. Sort of; I'm not sure if SD-6 would count English - or pig latin for that matter.
My current wondering is: what five languages (six including pig latin) did she know before starting SD-6? English would be 1, obviously, and Pig Latin would make two. I'm assuming she's counting her Spanish and Mandarin college electives when she said that (unless she already spoke those languages and just took them as electives to get more of a background on them), so that would be 3 and 4. So what were 5 and 6?
Truthfully, I have no idea. Wikipedia has a list of her speaking 30 languages: English, Russian, German, Greek, Dutch, French, Italian, Spanish, Portuguese, Norwegian, Swedish, Romanian, Hungarian, Hebrew, Uzbek, Arabic, Persian, Urdu, Indonesian, Cantonese, Mandarin, Japanese, Korean, Hindi, Vietnamese, Polish, Serbian, Czech, Ukrainian, and Bulgarian.
Now this is completely a supposition, but the Wikipedia list doesn't mention Latin - it doesn't mention pig latin, either - but I would think that one of the languages she knew before coming into SD-6 would be Latin; it just ... sorta seems like it would be the first language she would learn with her being as studious as she is since, while being considered a dead language, it's still quite present in today's world, especially in the sciences. So my guess for language-number-5 would be Latin.
The sixth language is more of a long-shot. Seriously. In the pilot episode, in the SD-6 briefing room, we hear this:
Sydney: ''What is that? Hieratic?'' Sloane: ''Good try. That's what I thought. Actually, it's demotic. Taking notes in ancient languages was just one of Muller's quirks.''
A quick Google search showed this:
Tumblr media
Now, she obviously doesn't know Hieratic or Demotic, otherwise she would've been able to translate right off. However, she was able to recognize it. So my theory is that she either learned the 'parent language' or one of the other 'child languages'. None of them are on the Wikipedia list. Most kids are interested in hieroglyphics but usually not enough to actually learn them (at least, such was the case with me), but I think we can all agree that when it comes to languages Sydney is a bit different - in a good way. So my long-shot-of-a-guess is that her 6th language is 'Egyptian'. Granted, she'd been at the agency for about seven years when we see her in the pilot episode so she could have learned it within that time.
Now that we've done that, let's review her language history in the books (at least, all of the one that I can remember off the top of my head). (I don't think she spoke in anything but English in Sister Spy, Father Figure or Skin Deep, but I may be wrong.)
Recruited: she's taking Spanish and Mandarin as electives, and she also says that she can speak a total of six languages (prior to being recruited)(see above). Spanish is also used later in the book. A Secret Life: she's was trying to teach herself Russian. French was used in this book, but she couldn't understand it. Disappeared: she had to learn Romanian (which she was distracted and didn't do too well at, but I assume she went back and learned it properly later). She also states that after the events in A Secret Life, she came back to L.A. and learned French as if her life depended on it. Free Fall: had her brushing up on one of her ''better languages'' - French. She was also able to translate an one-sided phone conversation she was eavesdropping on, from Russian. Infiltration: her Russian is described as amazing (and at times she'd been ahead of her SD-6 tutor), she says the Romance languages had been easy to learn (I haven't got a clear answer as to how many there are), Japanese took an impossible amount of concentration, and says it was difficult to keep the Oriental languages straight when she threw Cantonese and Mandarin into the mix (which, she should have already knew a fair bit of Mandarin since, as stated above, it was one of her electives). Vanishing Act: speaks in 'flawless' Dutch. (Also, she asks a woman working in a bookstore if she has any first additions of Chekhov, and when the woman ask if she wants it in English [the book], Sydney says she wants it in Lithuanian. This doesn't necessarily mean she speaks Lithuanian since it was a code phrase and it's not listed in her Wikipedia languages, but maybe she learned at some point.) Shadowed: she had recently brushed up on her Greek, and had learned German at some point.
Think about that for a minute. Did you catch what I did? She was recruited in the fall of her freshman year (a few weeks into the school year) and Free Fall says this happened in September. Shadowed itself happens in October of her sophomore year. Which means, Sydney learned 11+ languages in a year. So, aside from learning stuff for school, learning bank stuff (so she would be able to lie more efficiently to anyone who asked what she did on a daily basis for Credit Dauphine), and learning cool spy stuff and going on missions, she managed to cram in 11+ languages amidst carving out time for a social life with Francie (and a few dates with Noah) in one year's time. At the age of 19 and 20 years old. If you didn't think she was superwoman before, you should now.
Not to mention, that that's just the languages she speaks. While Sydney's trading card lists her languages as ''numerous'', she obviously knows a various amount of codes and ciphers as well; which, to me, counts as a language. We know she knows Morse code (2x18) from her mother's earrings, the Substitution cipher from when her dad encrypted her crossword puzzles (4x12), and Skip Sequencing Cypher Text (2x19) from when she was trying to get a message to Vaughn and an ever-helpful Weiss. That's just the ones I can remember right off, I'm sure she knows quite a few more.
As a side note, on Noah Hicks' trading card, it claims he only speaks three: English, French, and Russian. Oddly enough, the Russian was episode based while the French happened in the books - it's odd because I like to find what's different between the show and novels, but that's something that lines up. I'm sure he knows more languages - as it's said, five or six was the minimum - but it's not stated in the novels, the show, his Wiki page, or his trading card.
((Update: Ok, so two things. One, one the back of her season 3 trading card, it has one of Sydney’s languages as Taiwanese, so I guess that bumps her (known) total to 31 languages. Secondly, I did forget about a language from Vanishing Act; ''... a circle filled with words in what Sydney immediately recognized as Latin.'' Now again, it said she recognized it and not knew it (though, that’s probably the same thing for her), but I feel it’s further evidence supporting my theory.))

January 5th of 2020
Hi Bu, I am writing to you now because there are still a lot of things that I want to tell you but I’m not sure how to say it without breaking down.
I want to say sorry for all the things that I have done and mostly for all the hurtful things I have said.
I know I haven’t been the best person lately and I have been trying to reflect and visit every conversation we had for the past 3 months to understand how we reached this point were we are already both worn-out; that even if one wants to keep trying, the other pulls away.
I never loved anyone as deeply as you and I’m sorry if I made you feel unwanted by needing time apart. I wanted to give this another try until our very last talk. December was a tough month for the both of us given that we could not understand each other kahit na gaano natin pinapaintindi yung isa’t isa.
I just want to let you know that it was never my intention to make you feel bad by choosing not to talk to you but I should have known better that this kind of approach would not work best for you. I had my own reasons why I was so frustrated that I ended up choosing not talk to you first and so I laid it down hoping that you’ll understand where I’m coming from:
1. Plans - I have always been wanting to hear what your plans were. To understand where you’re at and where you are coming from. As my life partner, gusto kong malaman kung ano yung mga pangarap mo na gusto mong tuparin para sa sarili mo at hindi yung sinasabi ng ibang tao na gusto nila para sayo at tingin nilang kailangan mo.
Whenever I bring this up, I tend to make you feel overwhelmed because there are a lot of things that need to be figured out and fixed.
I had hope, kahit gaano kabagal yung progress, kahit gaano kagulo at kahit gano kahirap, because I chose to believe in you.
I understand why you feel scared whenever you get confronted with your plans in life, but as your girlfriend I want to help you get there and be eventually closer to the part in life that we yearn for na masaya na tayo dahil hindi na tayo magkalayo.
I just want to let you know na walang rason para matakot ka kasi andito ako and susuportahan kita sa kung ano man yung gusto mo just as what I have been doing for the past 8 years. Gusto lang kitang maintindihan kaya ko gustong marinig yung plano mo and not to scare you away.
I want to know where you are right now dahil gusto kong bago natin gawin yung mga bagay para sa relasyon na ‘to, I want you to achieve the things you want to succeed first. To be happy, and feel more fulfilled by prioritizing yourself before we decide to settle down and plan together the life that’s ahead of us.
It breaks me because I have been wanting to know and hear you out for years and you told me you weren’t sure/ didn’t know if I deserve any of these plans. Na para saan pa na i-share mo sakin yon.
You promised that we will be talking last November 11 but it was always getting moved until it never happened. I felt so bad kasi ito yung isa sa mga bagay na pinakapinanghahawakan ko from the very beginning. -That no matter how hard this gets, I know with good plans followed by actions, there is a way para maitawid natin ‘to because we both are willing to take a step forward. That these goals that we’re making will serve as things that we can look forward to.
I know you tried to reach out to me but I refused to talk first because I really got hurt. It was only not until December that you decided to talk and it felt like it wasn’t a priority given that it was being pushed back even if you knew this talk served as assurance for me.
The talk for the plans is not just something that I want but what we both need.
2. We were losing respect for you other - As I was re-reading our messages, it wasn’t hard to see that how we communicated deeply affected how we treated each other. That the intent of the message lost its meaning given that it’s masked with anger and frustration.
I’m sorry for all the painful things I’ve said no matter how true some of it were. I should have chosen to be a better person by talking to you with kindness and more patience regardless of the situation or issue. We were already hurting each other by throwing out bad things in each other’s faces even if it was unnecessary and we both didn’t deserve any of it.
You broke up with me because you felt like I wasn’t giving you the right to express your emotions over something that made you feel uncomfortable before I left for Shanghai and I’m sorry if I made you feel that it was invalid and you were not heard by giving you my own reasons.
I got so hurt with you breaking up with me for the issue with Ron when you could have just chosen to calm down and talk to me in a manner where I could understand you more.
3. Work - I had a hard time adjusting at work given that a lot of projects were given to me in a 2-week lead time but that wasn’t my main reason why I didn’t talk to you. This may probably be the least reason of it all. I should have talked to you in a more gentle manner despite my frustrations para mas napaintindi ko yung sarili ko nang di ka naooffend. There were better words, phrases, sentences that should have been said. And I’m so sorry na nasaktan kita.
Kung ang napairating ko sayo na naunderestimate kita, na di mo kayang intindihin yung sitwasyon ko at suportahan ako, pero I was just struggling in managing my emotions at work. I was at the peak of my emotions, and I knew that one wrong word from you/ conversation with you would affect me so much.
Hindi sa inuunderestimate ko na kaya mo kong palakasin, na kaya mong tumulong, but it was mainly because I wasn’t in the right state of mind given that I too, I was in a lot of pressure. And with that, I wasn’t certain if I can show you my best self when we talk. Baka maaway kita, mainitan ng ulo kahit wala kang ginagawa, kasi wala ako sa tamang kundisyon. That’s why I decided to schedule our talk over our Agency break during the holidays. To give my full focus on you. Na hindi ako pre-occuppied.
Nagsisisi ako with what happened, because it made you think of things na hindi tutuo kasi akala mo ayaw ko na.
Two weeks of not talking was too much for you but it was the space I needed to reflect on all the concerns and issues that have piled up and are not being properly addressed. I needed time to let my emotions pass without dragging you down with my frustrations. I needed time to re-think on the direction of our relationship - what’s working and what’s not. What’s needed to be changed and what’s needed to be improved.
Pero hindi kita kinalimutan.
I still looked forward to our talk.
I had plans with me na gusto ko pa rin tuparin. Ang dami kong sinulat na di mo po nabasa at hindi ko alam kung mababasa mo pa. Pero sinabi mong late na ako. That you’ve already decided to end this when I got back to you. But I don’t want’t to focus on that.
Tanggap ko kung saan ako nagkamali. It seemed selfish that I was being aggressive on chasing you consistently for the past few days, nagmamakaawa to give this another shot.
I’m sorry kung hindi ko namanage ng mabuti yung emotions ko by saying some things out of frustration and by not re-assessing them with the right approach that would work for you. It triggered you kaya napuno ka. And eventually led to your emotions escalating, and you saying hurtful things to me. Gusto ko lang malaman mo na naiintindihan ko kung bakit ka nagalit kahit ang hirap tanggapin ng mga sinabi mo. Na pareho tayong may rason but that doesn’t make both of our reasons invalid.
All I know is, despite all of this the most important thing that I need and want to tell you know is that no matter how painful everything is, I finally came to a point that I understand your decision to move on and I respect it because I love you kahit gaano kahirap.
I hope one day, you’ll be able to forgive me  and eventually understand the things that I’ve been trying to say. It’s hard to let this go because this time, we forgot to look back on the reasons why we held on this for so long and chose to stay.
But know that if you're really decided that you want to part ways, I'll respect that and move on.
I love you Keren. I’ll miss you every day.

Griffance soulmate au P2
part one | ao3 link
Space is strange for a lot of reasons, but one of the things Lance finds most intriguing is the different types of soulmates that exist across the universe. Every species he meets is different than the last - Altean’s have timers on their wrists, the Balmera are given crystal necklaces at birth which change colors with their soulmates emotions and a mer’s tail shifts similarly, and Galra tell their soulmate by a smell unique to them, something that smells perfect to the Galra. It’s interesting to see the way that they interact across pairings of different species - to see both the crystal Shay has that reflects Hunk’s moods and the tattoos covering her body.
It’s interesting.
It makes Lance treasure his marks more, makes him think how amazing it is that he has the bond he has with his soulmate.
Lance’s time as a Paladin begins leaving marks on Griffin’s skin, more than just the Paladin V that covers Griffin’s chest. Each of the other Paladins leave a mark, a sign of Lance’s connection to them. A microchip behind Griffin’s ear for Pidge, the kanji for trust in the crook of an elbow for Shiro, a small line of tightly bound chain down the back of his calf for Keith because the two of them are connected in so many ways that the two of them are bound too tightly to ever pull away from each other. Allura leaves three tiny mice running up Griffin’s foot and Coran settles as a thin soundwave of laughter on his wrist.  It’s not that surprising, because Lance treasures his bonds with people and his relationships mark him easily because of it.
Griffin graduates from the Garrison, gets chosen for a special mission and gains a team. They don’t mark Lance the way that Lance’s team has marked him. Rizavi and Leifsdottir are his friends and Griffin enjoys their relationship, but his relationships don’t mark as easily as Lance’s do.
He and Rizavi learn that they share a mark while changing into their flight suits one day. Griffin has white ginger flowers around his ankle while Rizavi has them sprouting up between her shoulder blades. Their placement is symbolic of something that keeps the marker strong, keeps them standing tall.
Griffin has never bothered to look up the flowers behind finding out what type they are. He figures that one day he’ll meet his soulmate and they’ll be able to tell him what each of his marks mean. Rizavi doesn’t share the belief, has spent her entire life looking up possible meanings for each of her marks.
White gingers are sometimes called Mariposas, she tells him as she’s crouched in front of him, his ankle in her hand as she twisted it around and examines the flowers. She’s curious about all marks and the fact that they have matching one is more intriguing then anything else at the moment. Griffin has never been the kind of person that views his marks as intensely personal, so he doesn’t mind the scrutiny. He actually feels more awkward about the fact that she does this while in nothing but a bra, Griffin having caught sight of her marks after she pulled her shirt off but before she could get her uniform shirt on. He’s never actually seen boobs before, but Rizavi’s are suddenly right there. He already knows that he’s not really interested in them, he’s known for a while now, but that doesn’t mean that it’s any less embarrassing to have them in front of him like this. Mariposas are Cuba’s national flower. I’m pretty sure it means my soulmate is Cuban. Maybe yours is too.
Maybe, Griffin agrees.
He doesn’t really care if his soulmate is Cuban or not, knows that there could be a million reasons why he has white gingers on him and knows that he’ll love whoever it is regardless of where their from.
Still, he finds himself thinking about Lance McClain for the first time. He’s not entirely certain, but he thinks that Lance was Cuban.
He dismisses the thought pretty quickly.
He doesn’t know if Lance McClain is his soulmate or not, but he does know Lance has been missing for a year and it’s not really worth dwelling on a missing kid he barely knows.
Shiro goes missing.
Lance starts piloting Red.
The V on Griffin’s chest stays blue, but it gains a red outline. Lance will always be the Blue Paladin, but now he’s the red one was well.
In just the right light, Griffin thinks the red outline looks like dripping blood. Lance accepts his place as the new Red Paladin, but Blue’s rejection stings and it cuts him in ways that no one else understands. Keith swapped Lions as well, but he never had to deal with Red’s rejection, just Black’s acceptance.
Rizavi’s soulmate turns out to be Lance McClain’s big sister, Veronica.
They find out right before a supply mission, when Veronica shows up and basically tells them that she’s going with them. Rizavi notices the mark on Veronica’s neck, a phrase in Hindi that Rizavi’s grandmother has said all the time before her death, and feels that instinctive gut feeling that comes with seeing  a mark that belongs to you.
On the way to the supplies, Rizavi insists on showing Veronica the marks all over her body and asking Veronica what they mean. It’s a question that only Veronica knows the answer to, something she’ll know instinctively when she sees them.
She makes eyes on Griffin - all wiggling eyebrows and quiet ‘I-Told-You-So’s when Veronica says that the flowers on Rizavi’s back are for her family and that their Mariposas because Veronica has grown up in a family that prides themselves on their Cuban culture.
It makes Griffin feel that much worse when they have to leave Veronica there, fairly certain that she’s going to die trying to make sure they can get away.

What’s my sin? “You’re ruining our family. Hindi ka ganyan.”
By: Ginny Puno
These words have changed myself dramatically. It has been hard for me to talk about this specific instance in my life. However, when I was asked to discuss a phrase or sentence that significantly affected my identity today, I could not help but recall these striking words uttered by my mom. In tears, she tells me, “You’re ruining our family.”
To put things into perspective, my mom told this to me when I was a third year high school student – still trying to figure out who I was in this world. With the growing availability of media at this point in time, I can say that my discovery of myself was also shaped by the information I was exposed to. As someone who was extremely fond of YouTube, I had come across certain viral videos of people coming out to their parents in a creative and touching way. Similarly, I was growing to like even more gay personalities like Tyler Oakley, Joey Graceffa, and Hannah Hart who proudly flaunted their sexual orientation. Even in the environment I was working in, I would see that most of my peers had developed an acceptance of homosexuality. More and more lesbian couples emerged within my school, people started developing their own “girl crushes”, and I would hear more frequent discussions on homosexuality. With all this considered, I started to question my own sexuality too.
Long story short, these events led me to having my first relationship with a girl and for some strange reason, my parents found out about it. This leads us to my mom accusing me of destroying the family. It boggled me at that time to think that my self-exploration was destructive to my family - that my own efforts in trying to figure out who I really am were in fact detrimental to my own family, whom I love and care for.
This experience still brings numerous questions to my mind today. It makes me question if it really was a conscious decision for me to identify as a cis-gendered female or if this was simply brought about by my fear of losing my family. I am certain that there is no greater love I possess than my love for my family. Did this, then, get in the way of me truly knowing myself? Of me truly discovering who I was at my core? This internal struggle I’m experiencing further stresses how my parents have become identity agents in my life. Identity agents are defined as individuals who participate in the formation of a youth’s identity. Through the entire process of trying to make sense of this new relationship I was in, it became even more evident to me how my parents were my identity agents. Upon learning that I had expressed my attraction towards the same sex, my parents could simply have let it slide. They could have let it go. However, they didn’t. They saw this new development as a threat to my overall identity. When I would ask them to explain to me why they expressed so much disdain, they would bring up issues on religion – saying that what I was doing was a grave sin against the Lord.
Ever since I was little, my parents have instilled in us this appreciation for religion. We would go to mass as often as we can and not simply reach the bare minimum of attending mass every Sunday. My father would force us to go through the sacrament of confession every month, even if we didn’t want to. From these instances alone, I see that my parents want me to grow up to be a religious person – swearing by the Bible and its teachings. Part of the identity they were forming for me was a Roman Catholic girl who would do anything for and by the church. I would say that I still aim somewhat religious and I still actively practice my religion. However, when I realized that the church was hindering my self-discovery, I started to question this. I started to ask, “How would such a religious and ‘holy’ institution shun me for simply expressing my love for someone?” I knew that I was doing nobody harm by being with my significant other at the time. I was simply acting on whatever feelings I had possessed. So, what is my sin? Here, I was faced with individuation.
Individuation is an important milestone in the development of adolescents. Individuals slowly let go of their strong attachments to the teachings of those perceived to be above them, like my parents or the church, and they start to see value in the formation of their own opinions and criticisms. My own assessment of the situation, especially with how my parents introduced me to the church, has led me to be more knowledgeable today. Without undergoing this event in my life, I would probably not question the church and its functions. Now, however, I do see that even the church system is flawed. That even issues like capitalism and corruption can penetrate such a holy organization. Going back, the way I was at the brink of losing my privilege to be worthy of love and acceptance simply because I chose to love someone of the same sex allowed me to question my parents and the church.
It is important to note, however, that although individuation is necessary, it can still be destructive if not carried out properly. There is a way to have healthy individuation in relationships – which I also realized at that time. Individuation does not end with concepts of rebellion or individuality alone, it must be paired with connectedness for it to be helpful in the growth of an individual. In my case, although I did question my parents, I did see their point. Aside from religious concerns, my parents also brought up some other issues on my young age, my limited environment, and “trends” and this allowed me to also question if my feelings were valid. Of course, I still asserted my own views, however, I still saw the value in respecting their side of the story. This consideration of their ideas against my sexual orientation helped me further assess myself. I now identify as straight, however, this does not invalidate the fact that I did feel what I felt and that I used to be bisexual. Although I identify differently now, I always go back to my experience as someone who was bisexual and I have used this to further understand the sentiments and struggles of other people.
Along with the words my parents had against me having a different sexual orientation were questions. “Hindi ka naman tomboy, bakit ka ganyan?” another interesting phrase I heard from them was, “Diba crush mo si James Reid? Paano nangyari ‘to?” I realized that gender stereotypes are not limited to just male or female stereotypes. Even with the members of the LGBT community, there are stereotypes that hinder them from expressing themselves freely. Just because I did not act, dress, or look like a boy, my parents immediately put the possibility of me being anything other than straight out of the picture. I am also, admittedly, a very “kikay” person who was fond of things normally perceived as girly. However, this should not limit me as someone who would be straight.
Another popular example that shows this was how Pia Wurtzbach stated, in an interview, that she would love for her son to be gay so that he could do her hair and make-up. Moreover, Moira de la Torre’s song entitled “Titibo-tibo” talked about how the persona in the song acted like a boy and this was immediately associated with the term “tibo”. As someone who did not fall under a certain stereotype as bisexual, it was hard for me to fully express myself as such. I knew that because I did not fall under certain physical qualifications, I may be questioned on my sexual orientation – and this is exactly what happened with my parents. It is important, then, to educate people to be more accepting to allow for authenticity to prevail.
Additionally, I believe that the propagation of social media and the internet has allowed for these stereotypes to dominate certain cultures. Although social media is a great platform for educating oneself on our modern world, we must also be careful to filter out the things we see. For example, my parents are also increasing their personal usage of social media. With this, they are exposed to even more members of the LGBT community and have learned more on this topic. However, instead of teaching them to be more accepting, certain portrayals of the LGBT community online have led them to further stereotype people and to box them within certain definitions. My mom, for example, is very fond of humorous gay comedians online and is fond of watching videos on Facebook of gay individuals dancing, doing splits, and doing death drops. However, this has limited her to seeing gay men as just feminine, when in fact, there are gay men who do not possess feminine qualities.
Although it is true that social networks have brought about various platforms for people to express themselves, it will only be effective if we educate ourselves as much as we can, and this includes going beyond what is said online and experiencing the real world. I have realized that the beauty about gender expression and identity is that it can never be put into a single definition. We live in a day and age where people are realizing more and more about themselves and are not afraid to break away from the definitions set by society. Similarly, I have undergone this entire process of discovering myself and building my identity. I know that there are some people who do not believe that sexual orientations can change, but I’ll be proud to tell them that that is not the case. Here, we go back to the importance of connectedness in healthy individuation. This calls for us to not end with critiquing and questioning things, but with creating healthy discourse and listening to multiple sides before arriving to a conclusion. Hopefully, more and more people can engage in these kinds of conversations for us to be able to build a healthy and accepting world.

Top 10 Best Ways to Earn Money Online | Start Earning Online
Quick Introduction to Online Earning Concept
In this article you will learn all possible ways of making money online or you can say "How to earn money online".
Listen, if you really want to earn online, you need to have patience and some skills or in other words you can only earn money online if you have some skills or knowledge about this field.
But wait doesn't be sad, the good part of this digital world is you can learn everything at your home in just a few days. The only thing that you need to focus on is to be expert in a particular field. And if you are an expert, there are infinite ways of earning money online is present. You just need to figure it out and work on it.
Before you see the list of methods, firstly you should know about how it works. According to me, there is a flow Audience >Trust > Marketing or some time it's like Solution > Showcase > Audiences > Marketing but the common thing in both is the audience so If you can have an audience which indirectly means you can have a lot of money. All you need is to convert that random audience in the trusted audience and to do that you need to provide some catchy things in which your audience is interested in.
There is a phrase in Hindi "Paisa to road pe gira hai, uthane ka tareeka chahiye" which means "A lot of money is on the road, you need a proper method to grab it up".
So finally Let's talk about all possible ways of Earning Money Online
1. Blogging
Yeah, I know many of you are familiar with this word blogging but for those who do not know, let me explain it.
Blogging is a discussion or providing information & tools or reviewing product and services etc. The most interesting thing about blogging is, you are fully independent to write on any topic in anyways you want. You just have to care about your audience.
So to start blogging you need a blog website and a particular niche (a theme or topic). I know many of you are now thinking "Since I don't know how to make a website, I can't use blogging to earn money online", then you are wrong. You don't need to be a professional website developer to create a blog you just need to know about some third-party services which will help you to create your blog website and start blogging. The main two are
Tumblr media
WordPress (Recommended) [Learn More]
Blogger by Google [Learn More]
Ok, So what's next when our website is ready?
Tumblr media
Choose a niche (i.e. Topic)Yes, It's necessary to do research before starting a blog website because there is so much competition in every field. So choose a less competitive topic in which you have enough knowledge. Then you have to write a high-quality engaging blog post that impresses your audience and Google.
