Trying a new silhouette, inspired by Hermina from @wondervol I don't really have big issues with my body image, but every now and then I find myself hearing an ancient judgemental voice in my head that just asks to be silenced. Someone (I did) convinced me I couldn't wear an outfit like this with my body type. "I'm too busty." "It's too sexy." "Too tight." Until @lalalaletmeexplain wrote about girls learning to cover up to be safe from the male gaze, ánd behavior, from a very early age. Her post was eerily familiar. And it infuriated me. I sat with my anger for a while. I knew I already did a ton of work on the subject. I will never feel called to wear ultra short and tight, skirts, shorts, shirts and dresses. I'm already conditioned far too long to feel miserable, and unsafe (!), in that type of garments. All respect for those who do wear it with confidence. But I do like to explore my boundaries anyway. @wondervol and I have a similar body type. I know she is taller than I, and has much longer legs. But size wise we're close to each other . Shopping in her @Vinted closet is fun for me. I have seen her wearing shorts and tops a lot lately. She looked good, stylish and comfortable. I tried shorts. I hate them. They keep riding up between my legs, and they give me the same experience as jeans often do: warm and sweaty in the waistline. But I do love a decent singlet or tank top, and skirts. Until this year you wouldn't even find me dead mixing this top with a pencil/slim skirt, without me feeling exposed. But watching other women wear it on here, and liking the style, I figured I could try it too. Make it my own. And here we are. I feel pretty, covered enough to meet colleagues, and airy enough to survive 35 degrees Celsius today. The message? You're never too old to learn and challenge yourself. Keep an open mind and get inspired. Make it your own. I'm ready for this day. Let's see what it brings, especially when wearing marine blue. Happy Friday, crew! #100procentjacqueline #ootd #outfitjacq #colortherapy #trynewstuff #everyday https://www.instagram.com/p/CDlM26wnteVvryEC-LEjd_hga1V_I_CI524d880/?igshid=7r2g0fnsvmzc

Hi! Just wanna quickly post this everywhere to debunk this image.
EAT LESS MEAT. TRY a plant based product, and work to save the planet, and people's lives!
Titanium dioxide is used regularly and things such as powdered donuts, milk, candy, frosting, ect
Methylcellulose is used in fried food, baked goods, candy, ect.
Polyethylene Glycol is used in eye drops, drink mixes, popcorn, food coloring, skin care, ect.
Ferric Phosphate is found in milk, egg, and rice products, it's also a iron supplement.
Magnesium Carbonate is used in soft drinks, biscuits, and other items because you body NEEDS magnesium and it's a excellent source.
While, on the other hand, your meat is literally killing the planet! Animal agriculture ranges from 34-76 TRILLION gallons of water annually! Its responsible for 80%-90% of water consumption, growing feed alone consumes 56% of the water in the United States.
Pacific Institute even sites that "Californians use 1500 gallons of water per person per day. Close to Half is associated with meat and dairy products."

I picked up some @berkleyfishing Flute Worms, an interesting worm. I rigged it 4 different ways and had success with 3 of them. It worked best wacky and Neko rigged. I caught a really nice 18.5” largemouth that just smoked it. I was using a @lews_fishing TP1 speed stick and a Tournament MP reel and fluorocarbon line. Looking forward to fishing with this more in the future. . #bassfishing #kayakfishing #kayakbassfishing #iowanassfishing #iowafishing #perceptionkayaks #lewsfishing #wackrigged #newlures #softplasticbaits #berkleyfishing #trynewstuff https://www.instagram.com/p/CFpNm7cAIIP/?igshid=tm26tgytnb6m

I consider myself a fairly crafty person. It’s sad that it took me till my 30’s to come to this realization but I guess better late then never. Lol
Last September I started my own home business Mommas Craft Shack. I wanted to try and do something with my passion. It has been a struggle getting it off the ground. I’m not a business savvy person and have many things to learn.
Creating something with your own two hands no matter how small is a very powerful thing. Opening up that creative part of your mind and doing something with it is intoxicating.

Plotting a Mystery: Time

USING TIME TO OUTLINE A NOVEL
It’s still summer. In between picnics, parties, and vacations, who has time to write?
Like last month, I maintain the premise that summer fun interferes with pen-to-paper time. That’s why I’m discussing writing methods rather than actual writing. In June, I offered ideas about using seasons as a way to get started. This month, I’m blogging about using time to organize an outline. These summer blog posts are helping me begin a new novel, and to repeat what I said last month, the two things I first must establish are season and time.
By “seasons,” I refer to either a season of life or a time of year. For example, a character may be in an early or late season of her life; or, a story can take place during a specific time of year such as spring or autumn.
What do I mean by time?
One of the many wonderful things about writing is that the writer plays god. Time, seasons, characters, words all belong to the writer. What’s not to love about that? But upon whom much is given, much is expected. Controlling time is too important to neglect. A writer should know what timeline works for her story. Will the narrative take place during the course of a day? A week? A month? A year? One hundred years?
Further, will the story be linear, as in moving forward in time according to twenty-four-hour days? Or will time move forward and back, incorporating flashbacks as part of the narrative? (Note: I don’t mean backstory, which is discussed below. Flashbacks should be compelling and advance the narrative forward, even though they’re in the past. Backstory is neutral; it reveals motivation or other details and its use should be limited.) Also, will twenty-four-hour days exist? For example, in the Harry Potter world, spells such as the Arresto Momentum affected time. A writer must know how time will exist when building her world upon the page.
The questions surrounding how a writer may use time are never-ending. (Oh, the irony!) How will your novel incorporate time? This is a question that should be answered before writing begins.
In June, I allowed myself to daydream and develop a season for my character. She’s in the autumn of life but the story takes place in spring. During July, I will ground myself to create a timeline: What will happen on each day of my story? The narrative will take place during the course of about six months, which means it will move from spring to end-of-summer. I will be specific about what happens on each day; I will allow for time hops forward, use no flashbacks, and little backstory. My outline will be time-driven rather than plot or character driven; the story will move forward according to days so I can drop plot-points into it. (I have done it the other way; that is, develop events first and then plug them into a timeline, but that’s harder for me.)
The great thing about creating a timeline is that it needs no special or expensive software. It doesn’t even necessitate a computer. It’s a perfect exercise for enjoying a summer day. I use a legal pad and a pen—it’s that simple! I can work on it on the patio, on the boat, or even an airplane. It will take time to create my outline based upon time—and the time to start is now!

The Key to Backstory
“Do not ‘download' background information all at once; it slows the momentum of your plot. Rather, weave backstory into the narrative.” When I was working toward my master’s degree, I heard that directive more than once—every student heard it. I think that was our professor’s most-used advice.
Incorporating backstory is an ongoing issue for writers. But it’s one thing to be told to weave it into the narrative, it’s another to actually do it. How should background information be incorporated into a story? How much is too much? When is it appropriate? Given that I’ve had a two-and-a-half-year drill about backstory best-practices, my advice is to create an outline. For pantsers that’s a no-go, but for plotters it’s practical and helpful information. An effective outline shows where backstory—which reveals motivation or purpose—is a natural fit. And the more one practices at incorporating backstory, the better and easier it gets.
A detailed outline using time to pace a novel is effective for a) knowing when to incorporate backstory; and b) knowing how much backstory to use. Remember that backstory isn’t flashback. One is neutral and drags down the plot if overused; the other should advance the plot even though it takes place in the past.
Next month, I’ll discuss plot ascension for a mystery novel.
Happy mid-summer—and happy outlining!

Blog Shout Out: Valerie Biel
Valerie is the dynamo who writes this blog plus wonderful books; she also works as a writing presenter and community volunteer. In a recent blog post, she offered an update about challenging her comfort zone. She wanted to stretch her creativity, and she discovered that small things mattered as much as big things. She asked for input from other writers regarding “Never Did THIS Before,” and here’s mine:
1.This summer, I’ve caught up with friends from the past. Never before have I spoken to so many who knew me more than twenty years ago. It has been a tsunami of revelation and it has changed my perspective; I have reconnected with people who remind me of who I am and they’re helping me meet goals. Is it possible to look to the past to move forward? I certainly have never done that before!
2.Write a screenplay. I've never done that before, either. While there’s much I’d like to say about it, I’m staying mum for now. I’ll keep you posted about the process.

THE MAGIC BEANS
Magic Beans. The first thing that comes to mind upon reading those words is the story of Jack and the bean stock where a child named Jack trades his cow for magic beans. He then nurtures them and cares for them until they seem to grow endlessly, as if to reach out and touch the sun. Curious, and wanting to get away from society, he climbs up the tree and, after a series of events, ends up living happily ever after.
Today, each child, mother, father, and individual looks for such bean to make their lives easier. Yet, what they do not realize is that in order to grow the bean stock, Jack had to believe that the beans would actually work and nurture them daily so that they could reach their full potential. Imagen if jack sowed the beans but never gave them water? Would they have grown so large, or even grown at all? Maybe, but it is highly unlikely. This children’s fairy tale brings a lesson for all by show casing the importance of belief and persistence. It shows that we should be persistent and willing to believe in order to accomplish our dreams. Furthermore, we mustembark on the journey to find ourselves, to find the reason we go on and what make us happy.
Many times, happiness can be found in things we have master or ambitions which remain still wile everything, and everyone, elsefalters. One cannot achieve anything if one wasto follow that same old path of rules or customs. You cannot do everything that friends do since you are not your friends. You are an individual human being, as different from your friends from your parents, as your fingerprint are different from everyone else’s’. Thus, do something that you believe in, something that you value, may it be designing, writing, biology, or technology. Your passions are what bring you happiness and they are what you should pursue. If your passions call for it, do something new which excites you and do not be scared of what will happen in the future as really nobody knows he future but you can set the future for yourself you can write your own destiny as long as you can throw away the snake of fear that keeps crawling onto your shoulder, whispering in your ear to give up. Because remember, if the people around Jack had told him that he and his seeds were ordinary and had he listened to themor imagine if jack was too scared to climb that tree that he never tried, we would never get such a great story that inspires millions each day.
Look not for short cuts but for great friends, great passion, and, great hobby so thatyou can open your eyes to find your magic beans, which, as it may happen, was right in front of you the whole time.
Jack had his magic beans long ago, now it is time to find yours
