BUT I CAME INTO A NEWFOUND REALISATION:

THE MC'S CURSE PROTECTS THEM, IN SOME WAY

(unless I'm the last person in the fandom to notice that, good job me)

If you pick the "Touch him" option, he only says "I told you there's nothing to worry about"

BUT HERE, he comments "That's one hell of a curse :D" meaning he definately feels it and it possibly affects him

Yes, the MC surely has ptsd of some sort and could assume Leander's hand was going for their neck like mrChocky but i highly doubt he was initially going for their shoulder

I believe the MC's curse doesn't affect whoever they touch, but whoever touches them

It's quite a bit of a strech, yes, but still a possibility:

Leander doesn't do the dramatics above if the MC touches him first

MrChocky was the one who touched the MC first and got he affected

And thus I bring in another question: What about Oracle!MC?

"The priests claimed your touch bestowed enlightenment, but a visiting mage revealed your curse for what it is."

It wouldn't be illogical if the priests' words were true; if the MC touches someone, they are "bestowed enlightenment", but if the MC gets touched forcibly/accidentally, the one who touches them goes mad

But that would also mean we'd have the choice of giving Leander more power if we choose to touch him

Also, somehow all the backstory mages seem to have a good understanding of the MC's curse [have seen it/it has been recorded before], or are at least able to recoognise it in order to reveal it to them. Plus, the Alchemist!MC's mage [who was "exiled from the Senobium"] planned on cultivating them as a test subject, meaning not much must be known about said curse.

"It's unlike anything I've ever dealt with," says Leander, a mage who has never stepped foot in the Senobium.

"We can find answers together," Leander promises later on.

Then he stops

He waits for them to touch him

Then he freely unwinds their bandages, allows them to touch his hands, his cheeks, he moves his hands over theirs because they've already accepted him touching them

He could have figured how the MC's curse works, or he could have dark-magic-ed his way into the Senobium files before the MC returned to the Wick again.

THEORY TIME!!!

Logan used to be a dark side.

Let's see how long this gets I might have to put a break in the post-

Ok so I was just rewatching WTIT and I noticed some really interesting things.

First off, Logan and Remus seem to have some sort of... Relationship for lack of a better word. For example, when Remus got stabbed in the eye, Logan seemed to find it somewhat amusing, almost to an endearing degree. Alternatively, the Dunce Scene. Obviously this is Remus being Remus, but Logan seems almost used to Remus' antics, similar to how Janus is. He also seems to know how the dark sides work and how to take them down, including Virgil.

Then, let's call it the Confrontation Scene (when the orange eyes are revealed), Logan admits that Remus has merit and purpose, something that the other light sides can't seem to do. This may be in part to him believing he is emotionless and therefore unbiased, but we all know that's not true. Logan has always advocated for the dark sides, and has primarily been the only one to do so, going so far as to include them in a gift exchange.

My final bit of evidence isn't involving anything canon, but more of a development thing. As kids, Logic seems limiting and fantasy is the most interesting. Exploration is essential for learning and experiencing things that shape us, and while logic has a part in that, it is mostly Morality and Creativity. Another thing is that there's a point where kids think they know everything and everything they say is correct. This could also be because of a "dark logic" taking control.

So my theory is that as a child, Logan was a dark side or neutral at best.

Back to canon, Virgil was only fully accepted into the group when he got 'His Color' and his 'true item' (patchwork hoodie). In the end card, the orange eyes don't have glasses. So what if each side has to go though some sort of metamorphosis to become the most useful to Thomas and they gain a signature item (hoodie, hat, mustache, sash) through doing that.

Logan's metamorphosis could have been going from Orange to Blue (a color that had already been claimed by Patton, technically) and his item is his glasses. But when/if he reverts back to his "dark side", he loses his item (glasses) and becomes Orange again. This could also be the reason he had such a subtle change in his design compared to Virgil, who hadn't had a metamorphosis yet.

And this could also tie into my theory about the Orange Side being Narcissism! I touched on it a bit in my other theory, but sometimes narcissists use logical language to 'prove' their point and manipulate people further, as well as excuse their own behavior.

But yeah! That's my theory! It's not a very strong one and it could easily be blown out of the water if I delved deeper into it, but it was fun! I'm excited to see where Thomas and the team take the orange side regardless of any theories.

what if orange is forming before our eyes?

we all know about king creativity, right? thomas started hating some parts of creativity, some parts that became intrusive thoughts. creativity and intrusive thoughts just couldnt be one side. so they split.

and logan. logan is logic, yes, but hes also anger now. hes anger at thomas for not getting the respectable job and hes anger for pattons silly little fits and hes anger at every single imperfect part of thomas.

and thomas just can not get angry every time he tries to be logical, the mindscape knows that. so.. theres one answer. they split.

they call one of them logan. the one in blue and the one with the tie. he looks similiar, but.. hes sweet and eerily polite and he never yells falsehood. he cant quip with virgil the same way. hes always a little too off.

and the other - daedalus. daedalus is scary and loud and orange. hes angry tears and too-sharp teeth but hes the only one that says falsehood. hes the only one to make jokes that leave virgil laughing so hard he cant breath and if janus needs to talk shit, well.. 'logan' never asks. hes always a little too familiar.

I'm back with another Sanders Sides draw each other, this time, Patton!! And oh boy, prepare for some angst!! (personal favourite)

I wanna believe I've improved also, but I'd love to hear your comments on what I can do better.

First we have Virgil!! Bullet point time for details:

Honestly, if without his hoodie and the banner of his name, would you recognise him?

Not because I'm a bad artist (true), but because Patton has devoided his dark strange son of his dark strangeness.

Next we have sexy Logan.

I'm sorry!! I wanted to draw sexy Logan and I found an excuse, okay??

To be honest, Logan hasn't changed his behaviour towards Patton throughout the series.

He's always been dismissive, so why shouldh we change our logicality drawing style of him?

Kinda proud of this one, sorry for the lack of details though (I hope I can compensate with sexy Logan)

Ah, Roman, here at last. Can you feel your eyes filled with tears yet or shall I explain? Have to do everything around here myself:

From the fact that out of all Scenes, Patton decided to draw Christmas Carol Roman.

From the fact that he drew him in a happy (almost cocky) way.

From the fact Roman is holding the folder, smiling, ignorant as ever.

Or even that Patton really likes to drill in the mistakes of others, proving he's the (morally) better side.

But eh, you could also view it as a heartwarming declaration of support from a father figure.

Up to you, I suppose. Not as fun though.

The dark sides, everybody, have arrived. Janus! In the courtroom:

We haven't addressed that the most Patton has seen of Janus is in the svs episode.

But this man really knows how to draw him sassy

Remus is "smiling" because never in the entire dwit episode did Remus insult or offend Patton

Surely he said some things that were very out of pocket, but he never even hurt the little guy (or the giant frog)

Really, check back, he even gave him his creative liberties!!

Lastly but not least-ly (nailed it) Patton drawing "himself" :

Patton (in canon) is coming to the realisation that his moral compass is pointing south (towards hell).

Not all the time, ofc, he has some great attributes.

I just had a thought right now about the orange side. We know that orange has some resemblance to Logan and usually shows up when Logan is mad. And we all know that every side has some good and bad aspects for c!Thomas. I personally think that orange has something to do with shame or at least has something to do with people not wanting to realize their wrong.

In LNTAO, Roman makes fun of Logan because Logan had put the word *figuratively* in his sentence. Therefore that led on to Logan throwing paper at Roman.

Now, in WTIT, Logan is upset that Remus is ignoring him, and so he gets upset.

Also, thanks to @analoceits theory(thank you for your theory) about the orange side, I made a better connection for my train of thought. In their post, they said, "Logan is logic, yes, but he is also anger now." And that made me think. You know something that people don't like? Being corrected or being shamed for something they do or have done. Which leads to anger or denial.

Orange has shown up when Logan was shamed by Roman and ignored by Remus. People would get upset when overshadowed or made fun of.

Next, let's talk about Roman. Roman is c!Thomas's ego and creativity. We've seen Roman lose some ego and not believe Thomas when he said Roman is his hero. Sometimes, people feel shameful when they are corrected or their ego is bruised.

And because Roman feels hurt, c!Thomas's ego might also feel hurt. Logan is his logical side, and when someone's logic is usually contradicted, they would feel ashamed and mad or they would feel lied to when their wrong.

These events happening are likely the reason orange is showing up more recent(also Janus being here, but that's beside the point)

Taylor Swift - I Can See You - Keycode

Theory! Joey hits the numbers “33″ and then the “escape” button. Reference to... not quite sure. The fact Taylor is 33 right now and that’s the year of her escape as an artist (even though the TV’s started before this year). Maybe the fact that Speak Now TV was released/escaped when Taylor was 33. Or, since the scene takes place between the 0:30-0:39 second marks, maybe it means Taylor’s music is being freed in her thirties?

Anyway, proof below the cut. Also let me know your thoughts if you have a different theory! It’s a Taylor video and numbers - it has to mean something!

1. Firstly, it’s near impossible to see the keypad. But someone with much better photoshop skills than I have may be able to tweak it enough to see what it is.

2. A quick google of the words on the keypad (”fingerprint terminal”) found me this one which looks very similar down to the curve under the indent for where you put your finger.

3. So, going off this being the correct keypad with the numbers being the same as the one in the video, Joey hits “3-3″ and then the “ESC” button.

4. I thought maybe she hit the #9, but you can see that her (electric) touch definitely hits the ESC key - presuming the keypad from the video is the same as the one I found.

 In conclusion, the code is “33 Escape.”

here's leo's lil ramble on the touchstarved demo update (from what we've been able to put time into so far) for anyone who wants ittttttt

I've spent a fair bit of time ruminating on the updated demo for touchstarved. haven't played it extensively yet (aka focused on leander [no one is surprised] and played the new background while doing so) because of real life restrictions, but i have played leander's section through and fiddled with his dialogue options at the latter half.

and my conclusion on the changes is that it's going to be hard for me to give solid feedback on it.

it feels, to me, as if they're attempting to shift what one's first impression of leander is.

they've changed his speech patterns- his lexicon, his boldness in giving opinions and taking a stance, his demeaner- in his introduction scene. There is, I think, only one line I can recall (off the top of my head) that I know hasn't changed in this demo...

(and it stand out to me because of that; the magical flower quote, about how they fade so quickly under closer inspection is the general gist. a line that feels quintessential to how leander's route will play out, based on my interpretation of everything redspring has put out so far.)

The mood has shifted in this whole introduction scene; Leander comes off as more obviously well educated, his 'business student bullshit' talk levels are higher, and in the scenes involving the other adderstones, he commands more more obvious level of respect (and, as a result, a less 'buddy-buddy we're all equals here' vibe). even his connection with the senobium is outright stated, though the degrees to which are not. i remember when that was just theory.

the change from bloodhounds to adderstones i'll address in a sec, but also i think the person who addressed the removal of dog/wolf references from both the player and leander's sections, but the way it remained in ais's was onto smth too

past the introduction scene (which, as I've said before; first impressions are essential, and character introduction scenes even more so as a result), the impression we get of leander... is both the same, and very different.

I feel like, if I were less 'me', I would pick up the vibes I got from the first version of the demo- which is good, because when play testing with my friend who is less uh. media literate??? media analysis brained??? than I am, she dismissed him as 'boring guy with nothing dangerous or interesting about him'. which is to say, in this demo, it feels more 'obvious' that he's a lil' sly, a fair bit yandere, and absolutely attempting to promise intimacy and 'love', but that it's empty-ish and self-motivated to an unknown degree.

however, because I am me, Leander in this demo- feels less dangerous to me. less competent, actually, might be a better word. this may be intentional, it may not, but its through the exact 'slip ups' that happen to clue in 'not-me' into Leander's 'wait... something funky is going on here' that make 'me' me go 'oh. he's not that good at this, huh? it's... really obvious what he's trying to do here.

to elaborate on these slightly....

during the intro scene, he doesn't turn to greet us until we go 'kuras sent us'. it feels intentional to me me, and heavy handed- but to not-me, it feels frustrating and forces us to be aware of 'other things' going on. (other things being the group dynamics internally and to outsiders, the weight of kuras' name, the power and sway leander holds, ect)

post group meet up, he pulls us out of the crowded pub for our lil one on one bonding session. this is nice, sure, because leander was previously the only person never really alone with the player in the post section. but it's in this section that he slips up- becomes more comfortable in the room too fast, self-corrects, and then forces intimacy too intentionally after.

his dialogue on the other characters is more flirty for all except kuras in my interpretation- and if I hadn't been looking directly at this prior to the demo update coming out, I may not have caught it- but there we have it.

lastly, not a slip up, but- the change to adderstone feels heavy handed, as someone who looks up symbolism and already has A Thousand And One Theories on leanders backstory, his other symbols, and the like. h o w e v e r to not-me who hasn't looked into these, and doesn't do so, however, the name is merely a "huh. that's a word" situation.

all this, as i've said, has lead me to the conclusion i've already stated-

the changes made to leander feel like changes i am ill-suited to give proper feedback on- because i already have a very solid opinion on leander, and have already experienced my 'first impression' of him.

that means I feel they're going to struggle to find proper feedback on the changes because it feels like it's trying to target that-- though i've tried my best to do so through this with my me/not-me versions.

me, as i am, would find him less intruiging at a glance- because, as an intro, it makes what he's doing feels so obvious to me that it's not worth a deeper look.

not-me, however, still likes these character tropes and would know what i was getting into, and would want to pursue it further.

overall, my conclusion is, I think the changes made are not made lightheartedly, and are a good change for previewing what Leander's route will involve to a wider audience. However, I solidly feel that they are changes that the longstanding fans are possibly ill-suited to review, and it would require newcomers to properly make that evaluation, simply because the change impacts first impression so much.

with that said.

there is one change however, that i noted, that gives me hope that when i have some more goddamned time and energy more of a chance to examine the demo update as i want to do so, i'll find that the 'less competent about what he's doing' is simply another deception.

Leander's dialogue tree, at the end of the demo, feels infamous to me. Well known for it's 'positive/negative' flip-flopping, but perhaps I'm biased. But it was the section I was studying right before the demo came out--and Leander's lines that caught my eye right before have changed.

Leander presses sexual passes into comments on all the other LIs one way or another- besides Kuras. We know Kuras has been a constant in Leander's life "since he was young", and that their relationship is "admires him professionally" from Leander and feels very parental from Kuras.

Which is why, in the prior demo, Leander slipping up and forgetting to comment negatively on Kuras when the player was positive about him up until the player reminds him that Kuras is a threat to Leander's grip over them was both in character and hilarious a chance to see the mask slip slightly.

he doesn't do that in the update.

I can't remember the exact new line- Imma gonna have to go through and compare all of them when I can (and I did take screenshots but have since had to get a whole ass new computer for Reasons™️) but he doesn't do that now.

and I find that a fascinating development.

But my fascination aside, that gives me hope that despite the 'dumbing down' of Leander's intro (so to speak; i can't find a better term atm pls forgive my tired brain) and the hints it gives to his path, the team haven't actually dumbed down Leander.

They've just more heavily sprinkled the chances for the player to learn more about what his route may contain.

And that, I can appreciate, is a smart move.

That's about as concise as my thoughts have gotten, with what I've gotten to play so far, and what I've been seeing floating around my dash.

I don't have much more to say about the update yet- simply due to a lack of chance to thoroughly explore it all- but I will comment that!! I do like the new background option!!

I didn't appreciate how all the prior backgrounds had to have the 'you have been betrayed and bitter by it' running in the background, and I also felt that they were??? Mildly unbalanced???

Not in the 'there's no option that Fits Me Better' way (though the new one, the Exile, has rung closest for me yet [it was the Unnamed prior]). But in the 'pick a skillset' way.

It was 'sixth sense' OR 'street smarts' OR 'bookworm smart'. You couldn't pick a 'moderate' options, there was no 'in between', and all of them felt very strongly like you were assigning a weak point/strong point that may cause a dissonence clash between you and the player character if you were, per say, a more balanced and moderate individual.

which is, in and of itself, a weak point, but like- there was no 'jack of all trades, master of none' option.

The Exile taking the hound slot, and being described not as 'STREET SMARTS', but as 'experienced with multiple cultures and experiences, so good sense and wide general knowledge, but not Trained In Anything' feels like a very good sub in for me.

I like that it was added, and where it was put.

But again, perhaps I'm biased, because I saw it and immediately went 'oh!! that!!! thats me!!! thats me right there!!!!!!!'. and, as anyone who knows me irl will tell you, 'well traveled hermit' is almost exactly how most would describe me OTL

I didn't want to leave that unsaid, cause I've seen a lot of differing opinions on the new background add in, but also. it's less 'analytical' compared to my leander commentary so.

overall, from what I've seen!

love the update, love the changes made, and can appreciate what the changes were going for. super geared up and excited to see the game when it's finished, and I'm loving all the lil breadcrumbs we're getting in the meantime!!

asDLKJGDLKFJG WAIT WAS THAT A THEORY THATS BEEN FORGOTTEN OVER THE YEARS ONLY I HAD?????!?! Just flicked through my ts theory tag and aslkjlgkdf it seems this is one of the (many) theories that I just revolved in my brain and word vomitted at my friend aside from vague posting about it in tags like once but... Like. Leander has a noted inferiority complex when it comes to Ais, to the point that it's in full-caps, sparkly, classic internet font letters in his quiz results, and for all that it's a cast of five with all of them foiling off each other in various ways, the foilage between Leander and Ais is well discussed and glaringly obvious (plus this is still rotating in my brain too). We know in canon Ais is a notably 'obvious leader', but he actively stats that his "gang took a walk", which could just be a nod to Princess and the soulless wandering around without saying such but... he's also noted as seeming lonely, even with his current situation. It just... makes sense to me, with the bad blood between them, that it's entirely feasible that in his business-major-esk move of 'take over lowtown -> conquor the senobium' Leander dethroned Ais and stole his gang asdlkjglkjfd

Can someone replace Ais? Why is it Ais who’s leading it? How long has he done it??

Can Ais ever really be free or live ‘normally’ after being bonded to Ocudeus for so long?

A lonely mind might just be the hell worse than having hive mind for him…
