Please stop, I beg y'all.
Tumblr media
Aaaaarrghhhhh....
I've been seriously considering blocking some Anons, or closing my inbox to Anon asks. I don't like doing that to turtles, but I'm getting past frustrated and feeling drastic about it. A huge percentage of asks I've been getting are from turtles who do not curate their online experience and who constantly bring Twitter drama and anti messages to my doorstep and I'm tired of saying the same things over and over again.
I can't believe the volume of asks I've gotten about this stupid F'n Douban page, which tells me 100% that a decent number of you are not staying in your own lane!! The only people talking about this (fake BS) are antis!! Stay out of solo hashtags on Twitter!! Yes, that includes GG and DD's individual names. BLOCK AND IGNORE.
If you can't curate your online experience, that's your problem. Don't make it mine, or anyone else's on Tumblr.
You know what bugs me the most, is that some of you seem to put a lot more weight to what those antis who are trying to hurt you say than you do to anything me or @accio-victuuri or any of the other turtles who try to help you are saying. Why do you bother asking any of us anything if you're going to ignore the answer?
Look, antis are liars. I've said this a thousand times.
Douban is a USER EDITED site. Don't let yourself be trolled by haters. Stop buying into their narrative. They're trying to spin a negative story for you and you're getting sucked into it, and it's so frustrating.
If people keep writing me about stuff like this I'm going to close my inbox, or else take my own advice and use the block button. Stop hand-wringing about what idiots are saying on Twitter, or if you're going to do it, please don't do it in my inbox.
Focus on GG and DD and their works. Isn't that what we're all here for? Fandom should be fun!
Whatever you focus on, that's what your experience will be. Just remember that. Choose wisely.
For the next couple of weeks no one is allowed to send me negative asks. If you have any happy, positive questions related directly to GG and DD or their works, please feel free to send them in.

Anyways the only correct response to "you support Palestine? does that mean you would be okay with native americans killing you for being a colonizer?" is "you are a fucking idiot" and then disengaging completely.

ok. god I’ve been seeing too much gender discourse on the dash with some BAD takes in the past few days & let me just say. I really feel like so much of Gerard Way Gender Discourse could be eliminated if we just started using the phrase “gender nonconforming” more. it is such a great phrase to utilize when discussing gender & esp when discussing unlabeled non-normative gender expression.
“gender nonconforming” is an intentionally open & expansive phrase that encompasses a variety of experiences outside of the boundaries of both 1) a binary gender structure and 2) a discourse around gender that has tended to focus on labelling and categorizing Exactly What’s Going On, often specifically so that other (cis) people can understand our genders more clearly in order to more easily exploit us. it very intentionally places a person & their gender under the umbrella of trans/outside of the binary experience (which is why we use the acronym “tgnc”) without needing to use specific labelling words — which is something that gerard has been doing constantly this tour & has consistently done throughout his life.
every single tgnc person experiences their gender differently, & calling gerard a tgnc person is, in fact, not labelling them (good!) & additionally not allowing cis people to erase their long well-documented history of being an outspoken & open advocate for tgnc people specifically because of his own relationship to and experience of their gender, which they have described as being non-normative (even better!!)
tl;dr not labelling is good but sometimes things aren’t labels in the way y’all think they are & weirdly trying to erase gerards lifelong experience as a gnc person who has tied themself to trans & gnc people is gonna get u blocked. let’s use the phrase gnc more

So here's the thing right.
Fans of the "behated nuTrek" appreciate, in Disco and Picard S1/2, its willingness to let new people in (by letting in new characters, letting in new fans who saw themselves in them), to continue the Trek tradition of telling stories that often aren't told through the medium of space adventures. We loved the found family, the welcoming of people who had fallen through the cracks of Starfleet, and how you can be a part of building something better when you're living in an IRL world that has convinced you that you're not something worthy.
And then you have... "traditional" fans? Fans of Star Trek who, in as many words, like seeing straight white men achieve to be the best of the best, because that's the position they started out in life when they first watched Trek. Privileged enough to only have to think about striving forwards. Not needing to worry about other hamstrings.
Anyway, Picard S3 is basically taking these traditional fans and dumping them into the nuTrek fandom enclosure without acclimating them like fish. Now I'm not calling parts of the fandom an invasive species because that's kinda weird. But a few things I've seen happen are:
The fandom becomes less of a safe space for nuTrek fans, many of whom are queer, neurodivergent or POC, or otherwise saw themselves in characters that represent a sort of minority that they are a part of. Their struggles (as represented in nuTrek) are trivialized, criticized, and made fun of, and they are made to feel less important (or worthy of their story being told) because of it.
Traditional fans tend to get listened to when it comes to what shows are being produced. The shows that nuTrek fans took refuge in, shows that dedicated themselves to putting queer stories/POC stories front and centre, are slowly being eroded in favour of more white heroism. Which is something that nuTrek fans don't really... want to see? Like, it's cute, but when that same white heroism disadvantages you IRL, it's tiring to see it celebrated in the media you used to seek refuge in.
Just a thought.

Are you Army?
Tumblr media
You know, we all live different lives. Some of us are students, some of us go to our place of employment every day. Some are just barely making it, some of us are very fortunate financially. Some of us have very large families we care for and some of us have no one but ourselves.
We are young, old, black, white, brown, a blend of several and rainbow. Female, male, and all genders in between. All sexualities. Some of us have experienced trauma in ways many of us cannot imagine. Some of us are challenged physically and some struggle with mental health issues. We are from a multitude of cultures all over the planet.
But somehow, we all found our way to BTS. I don’t know, maybe you fell under the spell of RM’s lyrical rap. Or maybe it was SUGA’s big house, big cars, big ring attitude. Maybe it was Jimin’s irrepressible stage presence, Hobi’s sunshiney aura, Taehyung’s or Jin’s other-worldly good looks or Jungkook’s strong vocals. Or their immaculate choreographed performances or could be that Run BTS made you fall in love with them. Maybe it was lyrics to their first songs or maybe Dynamite is what grabbed your attention.
Tumblr media
Somehow, something touched you and you reciprocated by becoming obsessed with these 7 guys. All of our BTS journeys are different and this chaotic bunch live in our minds and lives to different degrees depending on our circumstances, tastes and cultures. AND WE LOVE THEM! We love them as a group and we love our faves/bias. We all do the best we can to support them because we appreciate their love and dedication to us. We might be from different places across the world but we all bleed purple!
But...
Some of you need a spanking and not the good kind.
I don’t know what ever happened in your life to make you so negative, so vicious, so hateful and hurtful. Why must you be so spiteful, jealous and repugnant... and downright violent? The violence that reeks from some of you is very disturbing. You have no respect for others or even yourself. None.
Tumblr media
The members of BTS are not plastic dolls to play with and when you don’t see what you want to see happening, you make false and repulsive statements about them online. They are not one-dimensional entities that only exist in the videos and images you retweet on twitter. They are real human-beings just like you and me with emotions and ambitions and worries, pride, egos, and good days and bad days. One thing they’ve proven over and over, they have a boundless love for their real fans.
Tumblr media
Even though you think your words are aimed at someone else, maybe you are just too young or immature to realize the words you say will weigh on your own soul, they will become heavy to bear over time. You will not be able to escape them eventually. These despicable words that you let fly so easily can fuck with your own mind and self-esteem because the more hatred you spew, the harder it will be to love, not just others, but yourself, too. Your idea of love will be twisted.
And if you are old enough to know better, then shame on you.
Tumblr media
To me, you are not Army. And I will not let you have power over me. You are useless to me.

I really have no patience for callout culture when it comes to randos on the internet. I do not give a fuck who's in the wrong. They're not JKR and they're not the US president. Some rando pissed you off on the internet, block them and move on. If you wanna argue against a point then do that, but there's no need to reveal their side account or specifically make a callout post on the person. You're not the law.

Wanted to see what other people’s thoughts were on the album so went on Twitter. And. Do I not learn my lesson?
It is literally just people talking about her relationships and which song is about whom rather than. You know. The actual album.
And Twitter is also home to the dumbest people who’s ever lived. Someone is asking if Taylor has been to a psych ward and people are agreeing that the songs indicate that. There’s someone else convinced her and Joe were secretly married because the songs mention marriage and wedding and all that.
Y’all need to pay more attention in literature class I swear to god

Anonymous asked: this is why we can’t have nice things.. [redacted]
Speaking of 'this is why we can't have nice things', Anon...
I've closed my inbox to anonymous asks.
Congratulations Anon. After four and a half years of taking anonymous questions from people, yours was the proverbial final straw that broke the horse's back, or whatever that saying is.
Copious swearing under the cut. Prepare yourself for the sound of branches cracking and breaking in the storm.
I can't even begin to imagine why you'd think that is something I would want to see. What the actual fuck? Did it not occur to you that that might be extremely homophobic and distressing for me to see?
I don't know what part of "I don't want to hear any more of this" people don't understand but FFS, I just can't do this anymore.
I'm not here to explain, coddle, comfort or commiserate over hateful statements and badly photoshopped BS toxics are sharing on Twitter, nor am I here to compensate for people's unwillingness to curate their online experience. If I wanted to deal with Twitter BS, I'd be on Twitter.
I'm not here to be a social crutch, either. If a reader has a question about something someone posts on Twitter, they should ask them. They shouldn't come to my blog and send me an anonymous message asking me what someone else meant!
I cannot believe the sheer volume of both of these kinds of asks I get.
THERE IS A REASON I AM NOT ON TWITTER
I take curating my online experience extremely seriously, and I purposely block and avoid all of the worst toxic shit. Especially Twitter, which is a raging cesspool. What point is there in me doing all of that if I can't avoid it anyway because people bring it to my inbox?!?
At the risk of putting my foot in my mouth like WWX, I have to ask, "Who raised you people?"
This all strikes me as really basic stuff, here. Take a few seconds before you send an ask, and reflect!!
Is this something that belongs on another platform? Is there a really good reason why I'm bringing it to this platform?
Is this something rainbowsky wants to hear about?
Is this something rainbowsky has repeatedly, repeatedly told people not to fucking send?
Is this something I should be handling myself by simply blocking and ignoring the person who posted it? Do I really want to play the role of spreading toxic, fucked up lies and garbage farther and wider than where I found it?
Is rainbowsky the right person to ask about this, or should I be asking the person who posted it?
Do I really need to be anonymous for this? Why can't I message rainbowsky privately, or reply in the comments of a post? Why do I want to hide my identity for this simple question or comment? How does being anonymous impact any relationship building or community building that could be happening?
Have I considered rainbowsky's feelings and experience in all of this?
If I haven't taken some basic steps to make this a collaborative, positive, community building experience for rainbowsky, why should he want to post my ask on his blog?
From now on if somebody has a question for me they can damn well do it off Anon. If you don't want me to publish your name say so in your ask and I will respect your wishes, but I will know who you are and you will be accountable to me for what you send. End of fucking story.
Sorry for the bitchiness, please don't take it too personally. I am just really at the end of my tether. My life is stressful enough as it is without having to deal with stuff like this.

To the users from Twitter.
Hi I'm Michael, it's lovely to meet you all but know this place is not a place for Extreme cancel culture, that's just annoying and it'd really mess up this already broken app. Not to mention if you all bring that attention here it'll become more popular then Elon musky might take interest and ruin an already confusing app.
Thank you for reading, spread positivity and enjoy!
