Charlie is a warm-hearted, passionate and kind girl as is always her instinctive nature since birth. She takes care in keeping those around her happy, and keeping up with day to day things. Taught at an early age to be proud and independent, Charlie has self-esteem in handling tasks herself, which displays an ambition of self-reliance, even when she clearly needs some assistance.

Charlie has a very knowledgeable side to herself that is always seen. Like caring for others' happiness, Charlie is careful and analistic with her work. As a naturally fast learner and observant with the tasks at hand, Charlie takes exceptional pride with her academics and smarts. And the more rare, her beauty and sexual appeal. Charlie is the third-born child/second daughter to Cassia and Paul Luchessi. Ans youngest sister of Shawn and Elaine Luchessi. And like most, she had a normal childhood. Or so it was said.... From a young age, she was mocked mercilessly by her peers, being a Hybrid, and that her wings were the obvious elephant in the room. Charlie became vulnerable to their words and actions. Additional Power: Whenever she sneezes, a small and white bullet pops out and will start to chase the nearest person. Be careful not to get hit by this square, or else you'll start levitating for who knows how long. Please forgive her, she can't control it.

Weapon(s) of Choice: A double-sided battle axe that's about a foot shorter than her. It's heavy, which is one of the main reasons Astrid chose it; to balance her massive strength. The handle is made out of wood and the blade is carved from stone.

PERSONALITY

Astrid Lancaster may not show it, but she can be very caring. It's just that she's been living in the Overworld by herself after finding out that the portal was broken. Suddenly throwing her into a squad of foreigners will/might make her uncomfortable.

And also, she's having some troubles expressing herself and getting used to the ways of the Overworld. Some people may see her as the quiet type due to her always-frowning face, but really, it's just the product of growing up in a cold and dark dimension. Although, once you get to know her, you have a chance of seeing that smile she puts on once in a blue moon.

Extremely resourceful during battles, will come up with strategies even when all she has left is a stone and a stick. That is, considering that she isn't fighting a powerful enemy or a large crowd. This is one of the reasons she prefers moving in dark and deep places like the cave to avoid encountering anyone.

And someone please keep this hybrid's glutton in control. She's never had Overworld food before, so she tends to get feral at the sight of them.

BACKGROUND

She lived in The End for as long as she could remember. Until one faithful time, a group of adventurers who failed at slaying the dragon (again) caught her interest when they dived into the portal. She began to wonder what it was like on the other side. One look wouldn't be so bad, right?

She went out to the Overworld to satisfy her curiosity, it was mesmerising alright. Let's go exploring for a bit, shall we?

But as she turned around to go back, the portal was broken. Specifically, missing the 12 Ender Eyes. After that, she lived in the Overworld. Homeless for all the time she did, living and surviving in a forest near the cave where the Ender portal is located.

One fateful time, she overheard some adventurers talking about how the Ender portal can be activated once again by using the Ender Eyes. Thus, she was given another goal: Find an Ender Eye.

The only problem was that she didn't know where to get some. The cave is where she assumed it would be considering that it is rich with minerals.

So, she lived as a miner, full of hope that she'd be back in The End in no time.

But it seemed that the Overworld king had other plans...

As a human, her hair is in a low ponytail, she also doesn't wear a flower crown and instead of ear-fins, she has normal human ears. She still wears a seashell necklace and wears a off shoulder light blue shirt with grey jeans and black boots.

However thanks to her best friends, she slowly embraces her beauty and focuses on looking beautiful, but it wouldn't be a problem since her beauty increases as she grows older, making her to become alluring to all those who come across her. 

Because of her beauty, Andrea unknowingly uses it to charm people around her. Andrea is sometimes sassy and sarcastic if she wants to, especially to those who annoys her. All because she doesn't have any powers due to all merlings in Oceania can either waterbend or icebend. But she kept her power, the ability to transform into a human a secret. Because of this, Andrea became vulnerable to their words and actions, she barely talked to her family about it due to them working at the royal palace, back then she didn't have any friends, so it caused her to feel very lonely. However, she does tell her best friends about her power, which they accept it instead of judging it, and covers for her so she can go up to the surface world and learns to control her shifting ability between her Merling and Human forms.

It was founded in ancient times by Mother Gothel, Mother of Fallen Star, First Queen of Angarika Queendom. The royal family is the direct descendant of Gothel. Only women can sit on the throne.

Merlin and Viviane's Tower

Glory's hiding tower is hidden in a large rock pit by a cave. The cave leads out into the forest with its opening hidden by a curtain of plants. She has a personal garden with variety of flower that grows at the base.

Glory has the power to heal any sickness or injuries, even moral wounds as long as she sings an incantation, a song. This power is rooted in the Immortal King’s blessing to Mother Gothel and her descendants, including Glory, can use this power.

During her coronation and after, she wears a yellow and pink dress. Her top is black and white with yellow cloth around her chest and off-shoulder pink sleeves. Her skirt is pink underneath the yellow cloth. She also wears a black stocking and yellow high heels. In addition as a starborne, she has a white scarf tied behind her back in a giant bow, along with a pink bandana with a yellow star pin.

-Personality-

Glory was once a vibrant and loving child who loves her family and her beloved Marc, however, her personality changed when her people killed her family, her best friends, and were about to kill her. Even worse, Marc is part of the Great Myrios kingdom and it broke her heart. As a result, Glory closes her heart to others and vows to retrieve her kingdom through rigorous training with the help of her mentors. She has a difficult time opening up to new people and the only two people that she can trust are her mentors Merlin and Vivien. Although cautious and distant, Glory shows a passionate and gentle side when it comes to her hobbies like gardening and art. She also shows empathy towards nature as shown when she heals a wilted plant or an injured animal. She soon became awed with the world’s inner beauty thanks to Jonah. As the story progresses, she slowly warms up to people like Andie, Jonah, Charlie, Lynette, and Astrid as slowly starts opening up to new people and slowly becomes caring towards her new allies. She’s also inexperienced with her starborne powers but she slowly improves as the story progresses with the help of Merlin and Vivien. She also struggles into coming to terms with her identity when the ghost of her ancestor torments her mentally and emotionally.

-Background-

Gloriane is the firstborn of the Angarika Queendom and the heir to the throne. While she is a starborne hybrid, she's a late bloomer for she hadn't shown any sign of her power. When she was a child (maybe 12 years old) she was betrothed to a noble human child from Overworld named Marc and would be wed when they're an adult. For now, they would get to know each other.

However, one year later, when Gloriane was 13, the human kingdom, the Great Myrios Empire, invaded the Nether, killing her family and about to kill her. Fortunately for her, her mentors, Merlin and Viviane, help her escaped. Now, the three of them are living together in hiding, until the time is right for Glory to revive her fallen kingdom.

Like Merlin, Vivien has been with her since birth. Glory and Vivien shared a sister-like bond. She along with Merlin are the only two people that Glory can trust.

Marc Corrin

Glory loved Marc since they were children. Glory loved him for his humor and kindness. However, her view changed when she discovered he’s part of the Great Myrios Empire. As a result, Glory developed a hatred for Marc for taking her family away and vows to take her kingdom back.

Harriet Greene and Zara Fitzgerald

Harriet Greene and Zara Fitzgerald have been Glory’s friends since childhood. However, Glory became devastated by their deaths at the hands of the Great Myrios Empire.

With the amount of free times she have, gardening has become a hobby. She also knows a lot about wild flower and barries, along with flower language. She’s also good in making flower crown in shot amount of time.

She’s a late bloomer in her Starborne power, unlike her Sundrop Healing which she master, making her the healer of the group.

Being a descendant of Mother Gothel, Glory was worry that she would follow her bloody trial in history. That’s why she chose the peaceful ways in combat, with words instead of violence.

In his eyes, those filthy hybrids only look for chaos. So, he brought chaos to them.

What are Hybrids?

Hybrids are humans with special physical traits and magic power. In this universe, just like the real world, magic is considered taboo, and being a hybrid is equivalent to witchcraft. Nobody really knows how hybrids came to be, they’re just there, living together with humans for a long time.

It is easy to distinguish a human from a hybrid. Hybrids are known for their unusual hair and eye colors, some even have additional features, like pointy ears, wings, and colored skin.

There are several types of hybrids recorded in the archive:

Avian

They are creatures the closest to humans, but with pointy ears and wings. Their wings are in form of a domestic or flightless bird. Despite having wings, they cannot fly but can still glide to safety. They also can run faster than average humans. However, avian is known to be a lover of high places. Like a bird, they sleep above the rest, making their own nest. They are also known to be vegans. If they eat meat, tell have a stomachache for a long time. 

Known example: Jonah Argentum (duck wings)

Arachnid

They have added three pairs of hands, like a spider. They can climb walls without ladders and only their natural sticky hands. They can spit and weave a web, using it to trap their enemies. However, they are known to be carnivorous. They cannot digest nutrients from plants.

Elyrian

Elyrians are nearly similar to avians, with their pointy ears and wings. But their wings have more variants, from birds that can fly to mythical beings. With their wings, elyrian are one of a few hybrids who can fly. Their body is really light, and because of that, they can’t wear heavy armors. Elyrian is very close to the sky, but when the ceiling is too low, it’ll become harder for them to breathe. They can also manipulate control and bend light at will, but unable to produce it themselves. Being at a great height can be a bad thing, for if an elyrian falls they’ll bleed more than regular humans.

Known example: Charlotte Luchessi (four-fairy wings)

Shulk

Shulk, while looks like humans, can be spotted by the colorful freckles on their body, rough skin, and colored ears. When it comes to physical strength, shulk is the strongest among all creatures. Even with their bare hand, they can kill people. They are harder to bleed because of their thick skin. However, that great strength can be a bad thing, for they cannot carry a light weapon or a shield, for to balance their strength, they need a larger weapon that needs to be held with two hands.

Known example: Astrid Lancaster (purple freckles & ears)

Enderian

Enderian can be spotted by their pointy-ended tail and pointy ears. They cannot maintain eye contact, their instinct keeps telling them to run away. For that, they can teleport with their self-produced ender pearls (which is also one of the ingredients to activate the End Portal). However, their skin is very allergic to seawater, itching and burning whenever they touch the sea. They are also, for some reason, allergic to pumpkin, which would lead them to similar to food poisoning.

Known example: Rose Fall

Merling

Merling is the only hybrid known to be able to live underwater. They are known for having a pair of fishtails instead of legs and ear-fins instead of regular ears. They can live in any water temperature and depth. Unlike others, they can breathe, see clearly, and swim faster than regular humans. When they are above water, they can manipulate the water surrounding them, creating waves to scare away boats and drag sailor into the depth of the sea, but unable to produce a drop out of nowhere. However, like many sea creatures, they cannot live out water for too long, or else they’ll reverse-drown.

Blazeborn

Blazeborn, like their name, is a creature of fire. They are born and raised in the hottest place in the Nether. They are immune to fire and can manipulate the fire surrounding them. They can also produce blaze rods, which can be turned into fire (also being one of the ingredients to activate the End Portal). Because of their fiery stomach, they can burn out any foreign things that enter their body, making them immune to poison. However, being born in fire, they are very much get hurt very easily in contact with water, like reverse-burning.

Phantom

They are known being the few hybrids who have colorful skin, almost greyish-color. They also have fuzzy-like big ears and thin tail. Phantom is the creature who loves to haunt others. They can be invisible and walk through walls but still not immune to fire. They are also one of the hybrids who can fly. They are also has the ability to possess others or giving nightmares to their targets. However, they are very sensitive to the sunlight, their skin will burn under the sun.

Known example: Cole Wynton

Feline

Like their name, the feline has features like a cat, mainly pointy ears on top of their head and a cat tail. Like a cat, they always land on their feet from jumping from high places and is naturally acrobatic. They are known to be thieves, carrying extra luggage with their mouths, including weapons. However, like a cat, they sleep very often in various unexpected places.

Fox

Fox is known as a cheeky hybrid, with their fox ears on top of their head and fluffy tail. Their body size is smaller than average humans, but they are faster with those tiny legs. They are also known as nocturnal creatures. They aren’t like ordinary fox though. They can go invisible if they want but only when they are standing still. They can also levitate things if they have too much luggage.

Slimecican

Slimecican has very elastic and rather sticky, bright colorful skins. They are known as a good bouncer. They are also known for their retractable body. They will be smaller when they got hit, but they are able to suck back their gooey body part when they are cut, making them hard to kill. But their slime body has really fast metabolism.

Starborne

Starborne is known to be the strongest hybrid among all and ruler of the Nether. It said that they came from the stars. They are known for their horns/antlers and star in their eyes. Like a meteor shower, they have a very powerful punch that can lead to an explosion. They can also call forth the stars, sending bright light from the sky as deathly rays. In addition, they are immune to fire because of the Nether environment. However, while they have good eyesight in the dark, they are short-sighted under the light. They are also very easy to get tired, one punch can make them collapse.

Inchling

They are known for their small body, possibly the smallest among the hybrids. Because of their small stature, they can enter areas hidden and narrow where nobody can reach. They also have sticky hands that allow them to climb walls without ladders. They need less food to survive, and like ants, sugar can become a great energy bar. But their small size can be a blessing or curse. While it’s easier for them to avoid attacks, in turn, it’s harder for them to land an attack on their enemies.

Bumblebee

Just like their name, bumblebee is one of the hybrids that can fly, with their bee wings and antenna. Like their name origin, bumblebee has poisonous scratches and is a vegetarian, but they can also eat raw flowers. However, when the sun comes down, they will instantly fall asleep no matter what the situation which can be dangerous. Flying in the rain also becomes harder for them.

Floran

This hybrid is known for the sprout or flower coming out from their head. They are known to be the most variant of the hybrids because of the large number of plants in the world. They are comrades with plants, able to grow their own plant according to what they are born in. However, like plants, they can’t live anywhere. Some cannot handle the burning heat, some cannot live in the arctic. Everything will depend on their plant gene and their diet only consist of soil, water, sometimes fertilizer.

Piglin

They are the warriors of the Nether, able to live in the hellish heat, making them immune to fire and great in strength. They love gold and control the trading route in the Nether. They are also the oldest hybrid clan ever recorded to have their own deity to worship: the Blood God. However, they are strictly carnivorous and will get hurt from water.

Hometown: Leaf Village

A small town underneath the Spring Cherry Mountain. The place is rich with green, luscious trees and the soil is perfect for ranching. The villagers living in this place are quite friendly and very welcoming. Jonah lives in a small vegetable farm three hours away from farm. Despite the hospitality, the villagers isn’t fully on-board with hybrids. As long as hybrids hide their traits, the villagers will tolerate them.

Hybrid: Avian - Duck wings

You're a chicken. If you fall, you can glide to safety and you run slightly faster than the average human. However, you need to sleep in high places (so your home is a birdhouse) and you are bound to veganism.

Additional Power: Hasn’t discover anything new yet.

Weapon(s) of Choice: He wouldn’t consider his farming tools (axe, hoe, sickle, hammer) as a weapon. As the story progress, he found a bow and started using it, practicing as the archer.

Hair Length: Pretty long, even the braids still reach just above his hips. He also has an ahoge on top of his head.

Wardrobe: Despite being a farmer, Jonah looks more like a pilot. He wears a white shirt with camouflage long-sleeve underneath a marigold-yellow short-sleeved jacket, along with camouflage pants. Around his neck is a cocoa-red scarf with a single with line and a tan goggles on top of his head.

-Personality-

Jonah, at his core, is a nice guy, however he has a hard time to showing it after years being told to be careful around humans. He’s hot-headed and would argue even when he doesn’t understand the full detail of the problems. He wouldn’t back down without a fight and would always believe in what he thinks is right, making him a bit stubborn in nature. 

Contrast to what people believe, Jonah is a good listener. While he tried his best not to get to close, he’s willing to lend an ear and listen to people woes. Bonds is a very precious and fragile thing for him.  He doesn’t want to be called clingy, but he adores touches. Physical affections like hair ruffle or just a simple pat on the shoulders, he adores them. In exchange, once you’re close enough, he would often cups his hands around someone’s cheeks and gives praise. When he got very attached to someone, he would be the most loyal person you could ever find. When the time comes, he’s willing to fight anyone who dare to bother those who he cares. He isn’t the type to seek revenge, but he won’t forget what they had done.

He also has an insecurities inside him. He’s sometimes see himself as something less, especially being an avian among the others, more powerful hybrids. He might feel useless from the lack of special talent and afraid of being the burden in the gang. He hates it when he can’t do anything during the battle because of his lacking fighting experience. That’s why he tried to get too attached. It would hurt less if one day the gang decides to kick him out.

-Background-

Jonah is born from the pair Benjamin Argentum (human) and Dinah Goldstein (avian hybrid). Benjamin’s parent weren’t the most accepting with hybrid, so the two young lovers often meet in secret. It was until one day Dinah showed up without her duck wings, claiming that she was willing to give up her duck wings in order to be with Benjamin, Thus they got married and moved away to Leaf Village.

However, it seemed that the pain of the wing cutting resurface, leading Dinah to her death after giving birth to Jonah, who grew feathers on his back. He’s also a hybrid, an avian. Benjamin raised Jonah as a single father, calling him ‘little duckling’. They’re always wary when going to the village despite them being nice. Jonah had been taught to not ever show his wings when he go to the village. Because of his avian trait, which means he can’t eat meat, Jonah was taught how to farm and cook by his father.

However, one day, when his father went out to chop some wood, a storm hit and a tree came crashing down, killing him. Jonah was an orphan. Even when the village (who still doesn’t know about his hybrid blood) offer him a place to stay, he decline, saying that the farm needs someone to take care.

Benjamin Argentum

Father and son. Jonah is very close to his father who raised him by himself after his mother died in child birth. His father taught him everything. He was destroyed when his father died, however he quickly pick himself up and take care of the farm, his only inheritance. 

The Villagers of Leaf Village

Close acquaintance but Jonah learn not to get too close, afraid that they will find out his wings. One day, he heard some town folks gossiping their disdain to hybrids, which made Jonah wary as he is an avian. He isn’t that close to the kids his age because of that and only come to the village when he need to stock-up or festivals

The Hybrid Kids Gang in General

Partner in travel and his second family. He’s very comfortable with them despite being the only two boys there. Relaxed that he can spread his tiny wings without worrying of getting shun at. Though sometimes, he felt ashamed how the girls can fight better than him. He personally request one of them to teach him in archery, so he ca fight along side them.

Trees

Jonah loves climbing tree despite being a duck. He would often take a nap up in the tree, not really worry about falling down because he can just slow-fall/glide .

No-Mayo Potato Salad

Potato salad is his comfort food and would eat at least once a week every weekend. Because being an avian means he’s a vegetarian, he can’t eat mayonnaise. 

Swimming

He’s a duck, being in a pond is a basic need for him. In addition, his wings has the characteristic of duck wings so it can’t get wet.

Dislike:

Being Useless

Jonah would often try to do something. He just can’t stay silent even for a minute. It make him feel useless and a burden.

Meat

Just don’t eat meat in front of him. It’s very disrespectful.

Being called Chicken

And just don’t call him chicken. He’s a duck, dammit!

-Trivia-

Because his lack of fighting skill, he make it up as the (future) emotional support of the team and travelling-cook.

When he’s angry, his voice become higher and sounds more like Donald Duck.

When he’s going out from his house, he would be wearing a cape to hide his wings.

He found the bow and arrow when the gang were once again chased, deciding to learn how to fight.

In the middle of the story, he cuts his hair, symbolizing his want grow in defending himself, not wanting to be a burden to the team and learning to trust people.

He’s pretty content with his life before the start of his story, however as he travels, learns new things he never thought of before, and bonds with the others, Jonah doesn’t really want to go back to the silent, albeit peaceful, times. He still wants a peaceful farm life, but he wants to share it with his friends. It wasn’t so lonely now. So, he doesn’t mind if they go on another journey as long as they’re together.

Beings of the air. Charlie is blessed with a pair of beautiful wings. Even if she can only ear light armor, her strength comes from her wings. She can fly passes the cloud, the sky is her home. She can’t handle being in a room where she can stretch her wings and fly around. Music has been a great talent of her. Her voice gives her super strength, as one would say.

Lynette Mitchell from Beneath the Sakura Tree ( @sakurablossoms10 ) - Fox

Sly as a fox some might say. Don’t underestimate her just because she’s half the size of a human. She’s quick on her small feet, agile in pouncing, and has levitation power. She claimed to be a myth, but no one really understand what she means. And please, for the love of everything under the sky, you do not want to make her mad. The kitsune within her is always hungry for blood...
