i see this jason todd who actually looks his very young age (instead of the 30yr old man that comics like to portray)

and feel my heart breaking just imagining bruce beating him up, almost killing him, mind-breaking him, and just overall being a total piece of shit father towards him.

a huge chunk of the reason why people don't view bruce's actions towards jason as abusive or wrong is because jason doesn't look his age. he's drawn to be this 35yr old father of three who looks even older than dick (and way too on par with bruce) that people see their fights as one between batman and any of his regular rogues. when they fight, it just looks like batman is fighting a man his age and not an actual young person. it doesn't look like batman is fighting his son who's barely even drinking age (and who def wasn't drinking age in utrh). their fights are portrayed in a way that eliminates the very real power struggle between them.

this applies to jason's entire character as well. a lot of people don't sympathize with how he died or his actions as robin or his fights with the other bats because he doesn't look his age. he always looks older and scarier than everyone else. tim has many sympathizers from the titans tower incident because jason just looked like a grown man fighting a 12yr old (even tho i disagree, tim was built and like 17 lmfao).

anyways, i just wish comics would actually draw jason to look his age, which literally ranges from 19 to early twenties. he's young- so young, and it's so annoying to see him drawn and written as someone older than even bruce.

I’m afraid that I’ll be on the “wrong side of history,” not by being wrong, but because if enough people shout the wrong stuff loud enough, it becomes indistinguishable from the truth.

History forgets. I’d bet your average goy in the US doesn’t know what a pogrom is because something bigger came along. History also forgets the cruelty and hate of the ones deemed the good guys.

I’m terrified that in 20 years, I will be ashamed, but secretly still know I was right and have to hide that because no one else remembers. What if no one changes their minds? What if no one feels ashamed or apologizes? It’s been a long-held headcanon of mine that the House of Feanor takes their bonds of loyalty, fraternity, and familial piety very, /very/ seriously. 

Specifically, I mean that I believe that Feanor impressed upon his sons that they were brothers, real brothers (none of that fake, half-brother charade), which is such a miraculous thing (something their father does not have, we should be grateful), and that they have to take care of each other (because no one else will, see how they are turned against us?)

And that, given that Feanor spent much of the last years of the Trees fighting against what he perceived as his younger brother trying to usurp him, and this was such a great and evil sin that the rumor of it tore apart even Maedhros and Fingon’s friendship (for a time)-

Like they’re rivals but they’re also allies on occasion, they’ve tried to kill each other more than once, Sonic keeps stuff at his apartment, Shadow gave Sonic a potted plant for his birthday, Sonic dangled Shadow of a building and left him for Batman after a heist, Shadow thinks clowns are stupid yet lets Sonic hang around, etc.

They’re not what you’d typically expect from a romantic relationship, not even close, so no one really gets what’s going on there but their honestly too scared to ask

So, first off, this is not an attempt to kink shame (dubcon and noncon are great!) but I do keep seeing a thing in fics (I do NOT see this irl in kink spaces nearly as often) where like. A character will interrupt the flow of the scene to check consent

And I don't mean in an "are we still green?" Or "what's your color?" kind of way, but I mean. The author has tagged the fic and indicated via prose and/or author notes that they are doing their Due Diligence to make sure this fic is Righteously Consensual from top to bottom, No Question About It

And a character will ask for full sexual consent either directly or indirectly or renegotiate the boundaries of the kinks being practiced AFTER the sex acts have already begun.

Here's the thing: horny brain isn't great at making decisions! irl in kink spaces, there's often a lot of emphasis on negotiating BEFORE the scene begins, perhaps even with a space between negotiation and the scene if it's with a new/unfamiliar partner (maybe it's a few minutes while things are set up, maybe the partners negotiate a day or more in advance! It depends!), and not changing the parameters of the scene after someone is already horny or god forbid already in subspace.

Again, these are perfectly fine rules to break in fiction, when the author is aware of it (most characters are not going to be fully familiar with safe, sane, consensual practices and the traffic light system, nor would we want them to be!) but I'm increasingly finding fics where the author DOESN'T seem aware, which takes a normal fic (in-character, with reasonable but perhaps even somewhat dubious practices, which the author isn't emphasizing or preaching about) into Red Flag Territory (a character, OOC, yanking me out of the scene to behave like a PSA about consent instead of conforming to the horny tone of the scene, and perpetuating unsafe practices anyway)

If you are writing a master manipulator or someone who wants to have a gotcha, you totally said it was okay on a character they are trying to bone (which is well in the realm of non/dubcon) that's fine! This PSA is not aimed at you. But if you are trying to write someone who Cares Strongly About Consent, then perhaps be more aware of when is an appropriate time to escalate the situation (sexually speaking) or ask for consent!

Whenever I see any post about height differences being illegal or predatory or whatnot, I just have to sit back and LAUGH.

Oh no! The two consenting adults where one is 5'2" and the other is 6'5" is predatory!!! Whatever shall we do?! As if people don't have those heights in real life! And get into relationships with those heights!! I saw this argument YEARS ago and the fact we're still having it is insane.

It genuinely wants me to hold up Spamton, like just him alone, and try to have people say he's "minor coded" because of how short he is, especially compared to other characters. Guys, I dare you. Tell me this middle-aged, sleazy conman of a puppet who's been living in dumpsters for years is minor coded!! It's almost like the height doesn't matter!!! It's even funnier cuz of Spamton NEO too. Like whoop, is he minor coded now?

The whole thing with characters being "minor coded" in general makes me wanna riot. Like no, they aren't. Especially when it comes to height. Good gondy, where did people's love for bigger height differences go?

I’d imagine that pv was always curious about his soulmate, and once he attempted to follow the string only to have to stop because it was going over the ocean. Anyway time skip, the gang is going to Beast-Yeast, and pv notices with growing curiosity that they’re actually going in the direction of his string. More story stuff happens, they get to the village n stuff, and pv is hit with overwhelming dread as he realizes the string leads directly into the tree. The sealed tree. Hmm guess the reason I dislike Fax Machine's face structure is because he has a minor underbite. His top beak is so curved his lower beak is slightly misaligned.

okay this is so small but makes me really happy. taketora just got done talking about how much he admires tanaka and how cool and "manly" he is, which like makes sense right, both tanaka and taketora are always being shown as these like loud "boy's boys" archetypes who do everything with power, talk about girls, and emphasize "guts" and "manliness," so obviously taketora would respect tanaka

but then he immediately turns to also think about how much he admires fukunaga in the same way—fukunaga who doesn't display any of those same qualities that taketora was just admiring about tanaka. fukunaga is quiet, fairly low-key and doesn't flaunt anything ever. dude just goes around making weird puns that 1 people often barely even hear and 2 apparently seem to baffle everyone. but taketora sees all of that and sees how fukunaga still shows up and gets the job done more than successfully—he's one of the top point getters on the team—and taketora respects him for all of that, still calls him a "man's man" and tbh more than respects him, he admires him and sees him as a rival

and idk that just makes me happy, like 1 it's a nice small way of furudate saying that yeah "manly" is a thing that's important to taketora but it doesn't just mean one stereotypical thing—like it's showing that taketora isn't as one dimensional as we would have thought and that he sees things from multiple perspectives (we also saw this from him back during the whole "guts" thing with kenma and how he respects him too)—and it's also an example of seeing fukunaga from another perspective too. it's because he's so low-key that even we as readers have probably barely noticed how much of a rock he is for the team, but if you got back through their matches you can see how often he does score—he's quiet but he's always there. and i just like that furudate takes a moment to not only acknowledge fukunaga but to do it from taketora's pov in order to really hit it home to us how true it must be
